Episode description

We rolled tape on this Blaxploitation, Afro-Futurist jam on May 24th, not knowing that the next day the whole world was gonna straight up open that putrid can of worms called “racism,” that had been taking up way too much space on the shelf. It’s not that we regret what we said here, but we obviously omit George Floyd, who was still thankfully walking at the time, and we jokingly dismiss white supremacists. We would have given them more firebrand hell the next day. Black Lives Matter. Why? Because the sheep that has come near the wolf’s mouth is the one that needs your attention at the moment, not the ones that are safe in the herd. This is why we’ve gotta put Black Lives Matter at the tip of our tongues at the moment. Lest us not forget, this film may be fantastically weird, but Sun Ra’s core metaphysics have never been more important than the moment you are calling Now.
