REVISITING STRAIGHT TIME & ROLLING THUNDER
In this episode, Rob has a chance to share his thoughts and feelings about two of my favorite films of all time; Rolling Thunder and Straight Time.
In this episode, Rob has a chance to share his thoughts and feelings about two of my favorite films of all time; Rolling Thunder and Straight Time.
Rolling Thunder and Straight Time are two very influential films for me, and I can't say enough good things about them. If you haven't seen them yet, watch them both right now!
We end Giallo January with a bang as we talk about Black Belly Of The Tarantula and Autopsy!
What more can you say about two classics like Four Flies On Grey Velvet and The House With The Laughing Windows that hasn't already been said? Listen to the show and find out!
Arguably the most stylish and influential giallo films of all time, Suspiria and Blood and Black Lace, still reign supreme over every slasher that preceded them over 40 years later. Brutal, nightmarish, uncompromising, and unforgiving, these films are a MUST-have for your top-shelf collection!
In this episode, we talk about two 5-star giallo classics, "All The Colors Of The Dark" and "Tenebrae," and another fan favorite from genre master Argento that left us feeling a bit underwhelmed at the end.
I've had a giallo MELTDOWN this month, and I'm watching these flicks as frantically as a black-gloved killer wields their straight razor! Join us as we discuss three classic giallo, and others!
In this episode, Rob and I talk about some of the very best and the very worst giallo has to offer. We begin with the mighty "Torso," meandering our way through the original Trauma, and end with one of my all-time favorite Naschy flicks, The Blue Eyes of the Broken Doll. NASCHY FOREVER!
Giallo January continues with The Case of the Scorpion's Tail, A Woman in Lizard's Skin, and my FAVORITE giallo of all time, The Psychic! @MondoMacabroUSA @ScorpionDVD @ArrowFilmsVideo
Rob and I reunite for Giallo January to review Seven Deaths in the Cat's Eye from @twilighttimemovies, @blueunderground, and the magnificent Crimes of the Black from @CauldronFilms!
PIECES from @GrindhouseFilm is a blood-gushing, grimy gory good time! The three-disc special edition of PIECES is still available, and you NEED a copy for your top shelf! P.S. Motel Hell was poopy.
Beyond The Door is an egregious ripoff of The Exorcist, and still far more enjoyable than any remake, rip off or sequel made today.
The Beast Within from @Scream_Factory was an enjoyable creature feature with a frustrating and convoluted story that has a strange similarity to Cronenberg's masterpiece The Fly. Check out my film library on Letterboxd under Film Trauma!
The blu ray release of Paul Naschy's The Werewolf vs. The Vampire Woman from @VinegarSyndrome is a masterpiece. The three disc set contains three cuts of the film, and it's loaded with supplemental material! If you only buy one VS title your entire life, THIS is the one to get!
I've finally made it through my Amityville collection which included the Amityville Horror trilogy from Scream Factory, The Cursed Collection from Vinegar Syndrome, and a single release from CIP.
It's an Amityville triple feature today! I really enjoyed watching The Amityville Curse from @CIPictures, Amityville 4 & Amityville 1992 from The Amityville Cursed Collection from @VinegarSyndrome. Everyone needs a little demonic possession in their lives!
Happy New Year! I thoroughly enjoyed the 1973 exploitation shock fest "Thriller - A Cruel Picture" from Vinegar Syndrome. Get your copy today!
Shriek Of The Mutilated from Vinegar Syndrome is a sight to behold. Abominable, starring the great Matt McCoy from MVD Rewind, is near and dear to my heart and a must-watch for any Bigfoot film fan!
I devoured all 5 discs between the 88 Films and Grindhouse Releasing editions, respectively, to give you my opinion on which edition you should add to your top shelf. Spoiler alert: buy both of them.
It's Alive scared the caca out of me as a kid. I yanked the Scream Factory box set off my shelf and watched all three films in the trilogy. P.S. It's Alive is still scary.
Turn off the lights, mop off your sweaty paws and crack open Severn Films' excellent release of Dario Argento's classic Four Flies On Grey Velvet, finally available on 4k blu ray.
I've experienced Lucio Fulci's greasy, grimy gore fest "Cat In The Brain" from @GrindhouseFilm for the first time, and holy guacamole, my brain hurts. A fantastic film from the gore master himself lovingly restored by Grindhouse Releasing! Get your copy today!
Wow, Double Target truly is a badass action flick. Nonstop fun, fire, and explosions from start to finish featuring a sneezy wheezy Donald Pleasance and an oiled-up Miles O'Keefe. Check out the blu ray from Severin Films today!
An unholy trilogy for the holiest of nights. The Amityville Horror is a bloody classic; part 2 is full of Diane Franklin goodness; however, not even an appearance by convicted felon Laurie Laughlin could save Amityville 3D.
Merry Xmas Eve! Synapse recently released the 1976 Sasquatch horror comedy Creature From Black Lake, and it's freakin great! I enjoyed every damn moment of this film. I highly recommend picking up a copy if you have the means or finding a bootleg somewhere because this film is essential viewing for any Bigfoot aficionado. Be kind to each other, and be kind to animals.
Vinegar Syndrome's Homegrown Horror Volume 1 was a fun watch! I really enjoyed Winterbeast and Beyond Dream's Door, but Fatal Exam was a bit too long for me. Whaddya doing listening to this podcast? Go out and make a bad movie with your friends! Go!
I wish I had a switchblade Stradivarius violin. Check out Eyeball from 88 Films and Paganini Horror from Severin!
I made it through the Televised Terror Volume 1 box set from Vinegar Syndrome, and now I hate Tom Skerritt.
I revisited the film that traumatized me as a child, Silent Night, Deadly Night, and the surprisingly enjoyable sequel.
I've finished watching Silent Night Deadly Night parts 4 & 5 on the Vestron Video Collector's edition #28 Silent Night Deadly Night Collection. It was a rough watch, but I made it through relatively unscathed.
