Film Interrupted

Jack McFarlane, Martin Lynch & Nick Eadiefilminterruptedpodcast.wordpress.com
This fortnightly podcast is a motivation for three Scottish cinefiles to meet up regularly, catch up, and talk about our favourite movies. We’ve been stockpiling material for some time now and have decided to finally take the plunge, releasing our podcast into the wider world. We’ll be posting new material regularly, not necessarily in the order it was recorded, but that shouldn’t matter as our focus is on classic and cult cinema, and only rarely mentioning new releases. We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed recording it. Jack, Martin, and Nick

Das Boot (List of Shame)

Sympathetic Nazis + 5hrs of your life your never getting back = Das Boot In the latest episode of Film Interrupted, Jack and Martin make Nick suffer through the most arduous entry in his List of Shame, Wolfgang Peterson’s WWII epic ‘Das Boot’. In Nick’s defense, a 5hr movie featuring little else than pale, unwashed Germans discussing nationalism and boredom isn’t a big seller for most. But that didn’t stop Martin and Jack giving him a hard time. http://ia601005.us.archive.org/7/items/filminterru...

Gimme the Loot

In the latest episode of Film Interrupted, Jack, Martin and Nick gush over an undiscovered gem of recent years; Adam Leon’s Gimme the Loot. You would truly be surprised how easily three white, Scottish film geeks can relate to a pair of cool black teenagers from New York. If you don’t get even the slightest whiff of self delusion, you aren’t listening hard enough. http://ia801005.us.archive.org/7/items/filminterrupted/fi_ep010_GimmeTheLoot.mp3...

Will Martin and Nick’s plucky enthusiasm prevail over Jack’s heavyweight cynicism? Listen in ringside to find out. Rosemary’s Baby (List of Shame)

In the latest episode of Film Interrupted, Nick introduces Jack and Martin to horror classic Rosemary’s Baby. Things get heated when the guys debate whether we can separate an artist from his art, whether Albania has any cache in Hollywood and whether they would rather be touched by John Cassavetes or Roman Polanski. http://ia801005.us.archive.org/7/items/filminterrupted/fi_ep006_rosemarysbaby.mp3...

Movies That Scared Us As Kids

A discussion on all the movies from our childhood that left the deepest emotional scars, before branching off into what movies scare us as adults and the nature of being a cinephile. Disclaimer – We were totally wrong about live monkeys in Wizard of Oz!
