Episode description

There is a tremendous amount of uncertainty in the global fuels market as what’s expected to be a cold winter comes into play-- from the ongoing conflict in Ukraine to winter weather to the moves of key players at the Federal Reserve and among OPEC leaders.

Today, DTN’s Refined Fuels Analyst Brian Milne joins us again to update the story on European natural gas demand and how that’s likely to affect the global supply and demand picture, as well as to highlight other key issues that are affecting markets for oil and diesel, from the slowing global economy to China’s Covid lockdowns and protests.

We’ll discuss the current price situation and what might be in store for the coming months, taking winter weather, Russian negotiations, and Mississippi water levels into account. Then we’ll talk tactics, as Brian highlights what will be most important to watch as producers determine how to plan for input purchases during what’s set to be an uncertain season. We’ll talk about the weakening global economy, propane supplies, and likely trends for fertilizer markets.
