This is a fun lick to saw off on the fiddle
I composed this fiddle duet on October 15, 1992. It's performed here by virtual instruments since I am unable to play all the instruments at once and the piece sounds much better with both fiddle together.
Here's a fiddle duet I composed on the 23rd of December, 2023. Since I'm old and shaky, I had my Studio One Professional 6.5 virtual instruments perform the piece. Hope this is alright with everyone. I just like this tune and think it's "catchy".
'Tis the season. I love this Christmas tune, but so few people I play with know it at all, so I thought I put it up here. I learned this tune as a lovely-sweet-quaint tune, but have been surprised more recently to hear other fiddlers (on YouTube) doing it with a stern "march" beat. Nevertheless, I like it sweet & easy. This tune is from the Shetland Islands which I learned in the course of fiddle lessons, and is "very old."
