Episode description

Q: What do Taboo Tuesday and Periods have in common? A: They come once a month. *insert uproarious laughter*. Even though people who menstruate make up about 50% of the world's population, periods are still wildly underrepresented, stigmatised and demonised in media and pop culture. In this month's Taboo Tuesday we give a scathing critique to the media that contributes to period stigma and celebrate the initiatives working to end it, including chatting to Shuari Naidoo, founder of Moraka Menstrual Cups, about how her New Zealand-based small business is tackling period stigma. Listen in, it'll be bloody good fun!
