Episode description

As triathlon enthusiasts, we see A LOT of amazing photos of athletes in all stages of their races. But how do these photos get taken? This week, Haley and Alyssa talk to Deborah Castellanos, a sports photographer focusing specifically on our favorite - endurance sports. Deborah most recently photographed the Ironman World Championships in St. George and tells us all about her day in that hot Utah sun.

Alyssa and Haley ask Deborah about her professional career, and how she ended up as an endurance sport photographer. Deborah speaks to both the pros and cons of being a woman in this male-dominated field and how her gender often creates an aspect of comfort in her shoots with other women. The trio delves into the actual logistics of photographing triathlons, and how Deborah is seemingly able to be in hundreds of places at once. We'll give you a hint - it involves an E-bike!
