US Soccer responded to the MLS' sending of MLS Next Pro teams to the US Open Cup with a simple rejection, and MLS had to issue a rebuttal to save face. The back-and-forth is encouraging for fans and soccer purists, and hopefully will serve to better the working relationship between the two soccer powers in the United States.
