The Fearless Happyness Podcast Episode 116 with Bracha Goetz
Episode description
Helping Children Shine with Bracha Goetz
Not your typical Harvard graduate, Bracha Goetz is an award-winning Jewish children’s book author who has written over 41 picture books that cover deep subjects and translates them for children to understand at their level.
An avid reader growing up, Bracha could never find books covering the sensitive issues she was going through, from eating addictions to abuse to struggles with finding who she really was.
From the outside, Bracha looked like she was living her best life, but on the inside, she was silently struggling with no one to turn to. Like so many others, her addictions became a prison to her, and things started to unravel.
After graduating from Harvard, it was in her first semester of medical school that she started to hit rock bottom. Seeking help, Bracha spoke with a school counselor who told her that it seemed Bracha was searching for something spiritual.
So, that summer, she decided to go on a 6-week excursion to Israel and ended up staying 10 years. While in Israel, Bracha would immerse herself in learning everything she could about her roots and heritage. She found the spiritual answers she so desperately was searching for and discovered the meaning of her life.
Now the Goetz Bookshop & Publishing House owner, Bracha spends her time holding workshops to help others find ways to shine while continuing to write books that nourish the soul.
Listen in as Bracha, and I discuss her own struggles with identity and addiction, the journey to Israel that changed her world, and how she has made it her mission to help children shine spiritually, embrace their uniqueness, and live their FEARLESS HAPPYNESS.
