Episode description

We’ve come to Colorado to discover whether the tensions created in the UK by the Brexit debate are being mirrored here during this divisive election. To what extent are people sharing and debating their political views? When should politics be left at the door? And where are the local forums for conversation in a divided America?

Fear & Loathing is a transatlantic quest across a divided political landscape. We’re travelling around the UK and along the US Presidential Election campaign trail listening to voters, journalists and politicians. Inspired by Hunter S Thompson’s 1972 campaign diaries, we are confronting the West’s burgeoning nationalism, examining what has brought us here and where we are heading. Our research will be used to create Squint’s 2017 production, Fear & Loathing. Follow our journey @squinttheatre.
