You put in the amount you wish to pay. We tell you what you might pay in full based on the time of the episode, but you only pay based on the amount of time you actually listen. Welcome to Fan Zone, your bite -size guide to getting the most out of the True Fans podcast app. In each episode, we'll discuss an aspect of the app and hopefully answer any questions you may have about it. Plus, when you listen to fan zone in TrueFans, you can earn as you listen and use your earnings
to support your favourite podcasters. I'm Claire Waite -Brown, independent podcaster and all -round podcast enthusiast. And I'm Sam Setty, the CEO and founder of TrueFans. We have been... Going through the icons that are underneath the play button explaining the lovely extra things we can do using those icons and this is in the episode screen so when you're listening to one particular
episode and it's relevant to that episode. The penultimate icon under the play button may well be a currency symbol in a circle or it may well be a flibbly s symbol, which Sam will explain for us. The currency symbol obviously relates to money. What happens when I click on this icon, Sam? So the first thing is the icon will show your local currency, so pounds, dollars, euros, and that's based on your user settings. Or if you remember, you can change that currency from
your local fiat currency to Xat. So the Satoshi symbol. Hi there. Sam and I have spoken about fiat currency and sats in the episode entitled Why a wallet? So if you're not quite sure what we're talking about here, then simply head back to that episode either because you haven't listened to it or perhaps just for a little bit of revision. So you'll see one of those two symbols. But when you click on that icon, it'll bring a pop -up and that pop -up will then allow you to put an
amount that you want to pay per minute. So you might want to pay 10p per minute or 1p per minute, or you might want to pay $1 or you might want to pay 100 sats. Depending on what you've chosen, you can put it in that field. The next field down though, lets you know based on the length of the episode in total. how much you might pay
if you listen to the whole of that episode. If it was 100 sats per minute and it was a one hour episode that would say 6000 sats then click pay and that's what you're willing to pay to that creator. Now of course it's a pay as you go system so we track your usage of listening as you listen and so if you only listen to 10 minutes of that one hour show we only take 10 minutes worth of sats or 1000 sats. And that's the way the system works. It's basically you put in the amount you
wish to pay. We tell you what you might pay in full based on the time of the episode, but you only pay based on the amount of time you actually listen. To set a default amount of currency or number of sats you want to stream per minute on every show you listen to, click on your avatar, then settings. Scroll down to the Wallet section and type in the amount in the box labeled Play. To set a default amount that you always want to stream to a particular show, go to the Show
screen and click on the Info icon. Scroll down to Default Podcast Values. and key in the amount, again in the box labelled play. Sam explained how to do both of these for likes as opposed to streams in the heart icon episode. Thanks so much for listening.
