I tell you about fantasy fool gazes at the quarterback position, guys you need to forget about. First up, though, I want to once again give you my overall philosophy on quarterbacks. You need to wait on quarterbacks. Do not invest your second, third, fourth round draft pick on Drew Brees, on Aaron Rodgers, on Tom Brady, on Russell Wilson, on any of these top five guys, because the difference from that tier to
the tier that you can get. Literally, if you wait and are the last person in your league to draft your fantasy quarterback, the difference is not that much early on in your drafts, Go running back, go wide receiver. You can wait on quarterback. You heard, all right? That being said, I think that there are some quarterbacks. Remember I gave you Ben, I gave you Stafford yesterday. These are guys who I would even pick. I had some of these fantasy fool gazes for two thousand seventeen at
the quarterback position. The first guy I want to talk about is the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys, Dak Prescott. Dak Prescott right now is the consensus QB twelve. He is going ninety three overall. There is no reason to invest in Dak Prescott. I'm sorry to my man, Corey Parson, the fantasy executive who you will hear with me on Sundays on the On the Lineup Block show. He's a big Cowboys guy. He's a big Dak guy. I'm telling you you need to fade Dak Prescott. Let the Corey
Parsons and people like them draft him. Here's why. Last year, Dak Prescott had four interceptions all season long. The NFL m v P was Matt Ryan he had seven. Aaron Rodgers, known around the world, is probably one of the best quarterbacks in the league, had seven. This was such an outlier for Dak Prescott. There is no way he does not have some regression and turn the ball over more. He can literally throw twice as many, three times as many picks this year and still be kind of in
the middle of the league. That is regression that is going to happen. Here's the other thing we all know about the Zeke Elliott suspension. He might miss six games, he might get it down to four, down to two. He may go to court and miss no games. I don't know. But if Zeke is missing any time, if you were a defense. Playing the Dallas Cowboys, you're going to focus more on the passing game, on the returning Dead's Bryant, and on Dak Prescott and his ability to
beat you. I think that there is no way that Dak Prescott replicates the protection of the ball and the output that he had last year. Also, a little known secret, everyone talks about how amazing this offensive line is. I expect slight regression from their offensive line as well, with guys like Jonathan Cooper at guard instead of what they used to have Doug Free. Okay, I think all of these combine to the fact that there is no reason you need to spend for Dak Prescott. Like I said,
I'd rather Matthew Stafford. I'd rather Ben Roethlisberger in this spot. I think the Cowboys are going to try to be a ball control offense that are running the ball, whether it's with Zeke, whether it's with McFadden, whether it's with Alfred Morris. All of these are reasons that you should not be evaluating Dak Prescott as QB twelve in your draft. I say, fade Dak Prescott. He's a fuazy forgot about him. Keeping moving The next quarterback I'm gonna mention is all
the way up right now at QB four. Okay, the fourth highest ranked quarterback right now is the NFC champion Atlanta Falcons and two thousands set sixteen m VP Mattie Ice. Matt Ryan. He's going number forty overall, which is basically in the fourth round of drafts. I'm telling you right now, there is no way that he replicates his MVP season of last year. Here's why offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan is
now coaching the San Francisco forty Niners. Okay. In years past, Matt Ryan was a guy who would start fast like the Atlanta Falcons, and then he would nose dive at the middle towards the end of the season. What was different last year was that Kyle Shannon he created mismatches usually through scheme. Okay, they had a lot of motion plays.
They had a lot of complicated schemes. If you remember their game against the Seattle Seahawks last year up in Seattle, they had a couple of busted coverages from the Legion of Boom that liked to play straight up play that cover three. They were scheming things differently, okay, and that is not there with Kyle Shanahan. I think now with Sarkesian as the offensive coordinator, I could see regression from
that entire offense. Here's the other things to consider. After Julio Jones, who is really catching passes for the Atlanta Falcons. Is it Austin Hooper who's expected to break out a little bit at tight end in the second season. Are you really trusting Mohammed Sanu? Are you really trusting Taylor Gabriel? And here's the thing. As you know, Julio Jones is an injury risk. He's now another year removed from that
foot stuff. But what happens if you invested and matt Ryan as your QB one, and you paid a fourth or fifth round draft pick for him, and then Julio Jones goes down. I think this offense will still be prolific. But like I said, I'm not paying for any quarterback, especially one I expect to regress. And that's Mattie Ice. He's going at QB four. There's no reason you need to pay for him. The other guy I want to
give you is uh Eli Manning. Okay, Eli Manning. Granted, I know he's going as quarterback sixteen, but he's got named value. Okay, and a lot of people think, oh the Ben McAdoo offense, Oh Eli Manning, volume thrower. While those things are true, I'm here in New York. I can tell you he looked ugly at times last year. Okay, Eli Manning had sixteen picks last year. You know who else had sixteen picks, Blake Bortles. You know who else had sixteen picks, brock Off Swidler and saw of those
interceptions were absolutely ugly. Look like he didn't know what was going on. Yes, they got Eli Manning, new toys on the outside, guys like Brandon Marshall, guys like the first round draft pick Evan Ingram. But here's what I'm here to tell you. Look at that offensive line. It is still one of the bottom ten in the National Football League. They still have Eric Flowers protecting his blindside at left tackle. That is a problem. I would have liked to see them invest instead of on guys like
Brandon Marshall, instead of on guys like Evan Ingram. I would have liked to see them bolster the support for Eli Manning at the offensive line. You have Shephard, you have Odell Beckham, that's okay for the weapons outside. And here's the other thing. Eli is going into his age thirty six season. That's about when quarterbacks fall off the cliff. We're talking about the fears around Carson Palmer. Look what happened to Eli's brother At this age, we're hearing retirement
talk from Ben Roethlisberger. We're here in you know, does Philip Rivers have time? Yes? Eli is in that group. There's no reason to think that all of a sudden he turns it around and gets better at this point in time, at his age thirty six season. I want to give you a bonus guy that I want to throw out there, and this is the guy that's a little bit further down in rankings right now. Q at QB nineteen, I'm talking about Andy Dalton. Don't get it twisted.
When it comes to Andy Dalton, I bring him up because this is another situation where they got the quarterback. Nice little toys, right, They got the speedster John Ross on the outside. They drafted Joe Mixon as well. Here's the thing. They let Whitworth go, they let Zeigler go. Those were two all Pro caliber offensive lineman. Yeah, it's nice that you got John Ross to blow the top off the defense. But you know what you need in order to get the ball to John Ross down the field.
You need time in the pockets. And that is not what Andy Dalton is going to have this year. And if you go back and look historically at Andy Dalton when he has pressure in his face, it is not pretty. So I'm fading Eli Manning, I'm fading Andy Dalton, I'm fading Matt Ryan, and I'm fading Dak Prescott. I'm of course also fading Andrew Luck. The news seems to get worse and worse as we go about when or if he will be under center for the Indianapolis Colts. But
we have a pole question up right now. I threw out these options, who do you think is going to be the kind of worse by relative to their ADP and their value? And right now forty three of you agree that Matt Ryan will not replicate his m v P season. Whether it's the loss of Shanahan, whether it's the Super Bowl hangover, or whether it's the injury risk associated with his primary target Julio Jones, or whether it's that you follow my philosophy and are not paying up
for quarterback at all. That is fine, but these guys for me on the fantasy freestyle there, my quarterback fantasy fo gazes, forget about him. On what what isghaz? Forghasy means a phony
