And if you want to holler at me at any point this hour, you can calling the number at eight four four eight four three six eight seven nine. I got a good show for us, man. It's a big Tuesday. People are hanging out. You know. We got NBA playoffs, we got NHL playoffs, Baseball season starting to swing into full swing. Yo, big things. We're even gonna talk a
little you wait for Champions League. I don't know if you saw Ronaldo with a hat trick today as a real Madrid gets passed by in munich UH Champions League getting down to the semifinals. But I'm also excited because we're gonna have part two of my interview with UH certified Licensed Athletic trainer Thomas Lowe. Yesterday you heard us talking about hamstring injuries. You heard us talking about the platement,
you know, injection, the blood spinning. Today, on part two, I asked him about something if you listen to the Fantasy freestyle you know about it's UH. You know that urine hydration measuring the you your urine interesting. You may be surprised by his answers. As always, we also got a couple of polls up. Okay, so you can get out of us at f N T S Y Radio. You could also find us at Spitting Speeds. Okay. The
poll questions we have. You know, some people need to maybe be a little bit more media savvy out there. One of these guys is real tone deaf. One of these guys I think has great media savvy. I gotta pull up there about Derek Carr and the Raiders. He said some interesting things about Raiders fans and also Paul George has been talking a lot after games here in these series against the Calves so far, so um, I
wonder if he has different motivations as well. Okay, as my man Donnie Burns plays the style ins D twelve, my band get into it. So come on back, vote on the polls. We're gonna do speed starting lineup, We're gonna get into the cipher. We're gonna have fun. We put the fun and functional sports radio. You know what it is here, Fantasy Freestyle. I'm your boy. Come on back right after this. You know what it is? Did
your boy Dave Martinez ak to spend statistician. You're listening live in a Fantasy Freestyle and the Fantasy Sports Radio Network. So many ways to join me this hour. If you want me and my boy Donnie Burns on the ones and two is helping me blow up like a Samsung seven, you can get at me this hour eight eight four
four A four three six eight seven nine. Want to get into speeds is starting line up here, So I give you what you need to know to win your leagues and win that cash here in Fantasy Baseball started off with some news and notes Pirates outfield Starling Marte. This is the top fifteen outfielder guys suspended eighty games for performance enhancing drugs. Very much changing the Pittsburg Pirates fortunes their lineups. Starling Marte out for eighty games, suspended
for p E d s J A hap. Uh. You know, he had a little bit of a look with his left elbow. They're saying it's only inflammation. He's gonna have a d L stint and that's pretty likely at this case, but it's not the worst case scenario. Okay. Uh. A lot of people were thinking, you know, when you have that discomfort, that inflammation in the elbow. People are very very worried about Tommy john surgery, despite you know, the advances that my man Thomas Low was telling us about yesterday.
But it is not that that case. Okay, So we're okay with Jay happen. It's still gonna be a little bit of a d L ston but maybe not worst case scenario. Clay buck halts On, on the other hand, he's set to have surgery on his flex attendant in his forearm. He's gonna miss day, say around four to five months. He saw Dr James Andrews. I maintained Dr James Andrews the worst three words in all the sports, because if you see Dr James Andrews, then you're out for months by the time he comes back. And this
could be a low season for Buck Colts. Josh Donaldson he's gonna miss two to four weeks, they say because of that calf. It got reaggravated a couple of games ago. Let me tell you something. The King, Scott Angle, my man Benny McCarty were on this. I've been telling you I've been a little bit worried about Josh Donaldson for the entire season. This would indicate he is going to lose a chunk of this season. Philly's Howie Kendrick is
gonna go to the d L with an abdominant strain. Okay, Milwaukee Brewers new first baseman Eric Dames, he has hit a home run in his fifth straight game. This guy is so hot in the street. You may not have known him because he was playing in Korea for the last few years. Okay, in Korea they call him God. He had seasons. He has been a beast in Korea. This could be a great signing by the Milwaukee Brewers.
It is a small sample size, but in twelve games, this guy has an ops of one point four seven nine seven Homer's, twelve ribbies and fifteen runs scored in twelve games. That is pretty sick the Rangers. Remember how I've been telling you about Sam Dyson and how he is not the answer. Remember I have been telling you about Matt Bush and how everybody needs to pick up Matt Bush. I got a little something for you guys, Rangers. They call up Key on Cola today from Triple A
Round Rock. This guy has closer stuff. This guy was in the mix to be a closer for them at points last year. They sent him down towards the end of spring training. Why because he had attitude issues with his teammates. He like, basically, he couldn't make friends with his teammates, and so they sent them down, like to try to make a point. They called him back today. Okay, and remember the way Sam Dyson is pitching in that bullpen. I told you about Matt Bush, but keep an eye
on this guy as well, all right. And also Kendall Graveman I reported yesterday that he's going to the d L, right, but uh now they're saying he's probably only gonna miss one start. And that's one of the things. Remember, I've been talking about this ten day d L versus fifteen day d L that we've been seeing in years past. I think managers are now just you know, using it to their advantage. Yeah, sure, he wants to skip a start, I can put him on the d L. He's not
even missing two entire weeks, you know. And when you have weekly lineups, that's very interesting to think. It may be different how you manage your weekly lineups now in Fantasy Baseball because of this ten day DL. Keep it moving here. I want to give you my starters for tonight. Last night, I hope you listen to speeds of spitting Statistician. I was giving with you what you needed to win your leagues and win that cash. I told you I liked Robbie Ray yesterday at eight? Is it on fan duel?
I told you I liked his k upside, Right, I told you I like that he's always around a quality start, Right, what do you do? He got another quality start struck out ten last night. I hope you listen to me. I also said last night that if you would have slide down a little bit, I like Charlie Morton on Houston at sixty undred. He didn't. He didn't. Uh, he didn't go long enough for me. Okay, I thought he was arrested. He'd be good. He didn't get the qualities start.
He only went five innings, but he went five scoreless innings with three strikeouts. Uh, not a bad start. He did lower his e r A to two point eight one on the season. I'm telling you, guys, this is one of these miles an hour uptick guys. I've been high on him all season long. So if you're in season longs and he's still available, give a look to Charlie Morton. Okay, Tonight tonight there's a couple of starters
I want to target. If you were listening to Benny Benny McHardy and Tony Sincada on the DFS Lineup Block show, I am in sync with them tonight, Okay. My number one starter for sure is you Darvish. You I'm paying ten. I was in the seven hundred for him on FanDuel. Okay, I know, and that's expensive, but it's about these caves it's about these dominant starting pitchers. I like the case he's at Oakland. We've talked about this a lot. I like that Oakland bar Ballpark. I like all the foul territory.
I like all the space out there. You give me you Darvis out there. I'm taking him as my number one starter today on a Tuesday. That's my speed starter to target today to when that when your leagues and win that cash. The other guy I like is Mike Leak. I like Mike Leak at seventy going up against the Pittsburgh Pirates. I remember I just said Starling Marte has been suspended. There's not much in that lineup. If you take Marte out, Okay, Cutch, you know he's he's not
one of you once was. I think this is he's He's been great in his first two starts. Mike Leak, Okay, he's got a zero point six oh e er a. He's even been striking out more guys than you might think. Twelve strikeouts in fifteen innings pitched so far in his two starts. I like that. I like Mike Leak to night at seventy D. I like you, Darvish at ten thousand seven hundred as well. Those are the starters I
think you need to target here. Like I said, though, whether it be Betty Riccardi and Tony Sencata, you need to listen to the Fantasy Sports Radio Network. If you just have to pay some taxes, what better way than to get some more cash by playing, you know, and listening to us guys on the Fantasy Sports Radio Network. Here's one more thing I wanted to tell you on speeds is starting lineup. You know, one thing I wanted to talk about that I am I'm noticing. I'm noticing this evolution at the shortstop position. Okay, back in the day, Back in the day, shortstop where these like defensive specialists,
these tall like these tall, skinny, scrappy guys. You know, yeah, there was this revolution, you know, the uh, the Jeters, the A Rods, the No Mars, the mcguil, Taara Tajadas, the Edgar renter Rears back in the day. But it's out of control right now. And they're young too. I want to focus on these shortstops. Last year, twelve teams in Major League Baseball had shortstops up with twenty five or younger and and and fifteen teams had shortstops that
hit twenty or more home runs. I am so happy that we are entering an era, a revolution where the shortstop is still you know, like the most athletic, like you know, uh guy on the field. You know, it was the glamour position when I was growing up, at least, you know, we talked about guys like Lindoor Korea, Seeger Bogarts, Addison Russell, VR Track Turner, Trevor Story, even guys like
Gregorious dan By Swanson coming up. I just named my ten or fifteen shortstops, okay, And I'm telling you I think that I think we're we're entering like peak shortstop in Major League Baseball. It's not the eighties, even with guys like Ripken and Tony Fernandez. You know, it's not like in the forties where it was just like Lou Boudreau. You know, it's not these big bulky guys that Ripken
and Jeter and a Rod may Faith. I'm telling you, these are all around great athletes that are literally hitting three four and lineups that are twenty three years old. I could even count Machado in this coming up at such a kid. Now moved over to third base. Listen, the game is in great shape, and I'm very excited that, you know, the shortstop in this day and age, in this post steroids era, can really once again be the best athlete on the field. I think it's really interesting
the way it's moving. You know, you see these kids coming up at the shortstop position that are two way players. You know, great, great defensively. You sawd what Lindor and Corea we're doing in the WBC. When you see these guys, I'm just really excited that the shortstop position is in such great shape. Holler at me if you want on that F and T s Y Radio at Spitting Speeds if you want to talk to me about which of these shortstops are the greatest. But when we come back,
we're gonna enter the cipher. You know what it is, it's your boys, speed spitting Statistician. You're listening to the Fantasy Freestyle live on the Fantasy Sports Radio Network. You know what it is. It's your boy, Dame Martinez a k A. Speeds, a k A. The Spitting Statisicsian. You're listening live to the Fantasy Freestyle on the Fantasy Sports Radio Network. Of course, big shout out to our American Forces radio network listeners making Fantasy Freestyle truly a global show.
And I got my man Donnie Burns with me on the ones and twos keeping it so hot that we sweats team. Let's enter the cipher here in this next segment, News and notes from the NFL. You know, we always talk football here. Okay, it's it's it's kind of the dominant thing on the Fantasy Sports Radio Network. It's kind of what speeds and spitting statistician always likes to talk. And we got that NFL Draft coming up next week, so we're gonna have to start getting into football a
little bit more as well. Tyler Eiffort says he feels great the tight end of the Cincinnati Bengals. He feels great, but he may not be ready for camp because of that back injury that he had last year. I think that's such an oxymoronic kind of uh, you know, kind of news and note. He feels great, yet he might not be ready. Which one is it? Tyler? Come on a j Hawks calling it quits after eleven seasons in the NFL, most notably as a linebacker with the Green
Bay Packers. Was I think will eventually maybe even being the Packers Ring of Honor, but also played with the Bengals and the Falcons, a j Hawk calling it a career after eleven seasons. Also, this is the time year where we have some cat moves, okay, some people trying to restructure their deals. And two notable wide receivers accepted a pay cut today, Harry Douglas from the Tennessee Titans and Danny Amondola of the New England Patriots. You gotta
figure remember and think about this. Both of these teams. The Patriots already brought in Brandon Cooks, Okay, So if you're Danny Amondola, you're like, yo, I gotta still make sure I can stay on this team, right, And Harry Douglas as well the Titans. A lot of people I think the Titans are gonna use some draft capital to go get one of these receivers, whether it be Mike Williams, whether it be Corey Davis, or whether it be you know, the speedster John Ross. You know a lot of people
think are linking wide receivers to the Tennessee Titans. Here in New York. I even heard a report that the Jets maybe looking to trade Eric Decker at that the Tennessee Titans could be a death the nation there. So I agree with Harry Douglas trying to you know, signed that contract, keep it, uh. Speaking of the New England Patriots offense, maybe Danny Ammondola agreed to take his pay cut and signed because he saw the riding on the wall that the you know, the wheels keep on turning.
And Legarrett Blunt may not have it. He may have just missed out. I told you yesterday on this show. This is speeds and spitting statistician. Yo, I'm telling you what's real. I told you, Lagarrett Blunt, you just need to sign that contract before the Patriots move on. And what happens today The Pats have signed Mike Gillessly to a two year, six point four million dollar offer sheet.
I find this very very interesting. Remember when the Pats signed Rex Burkhead a few weeks ago, and I said that the Pats have not invested more than three million dollars a year on a running back in this decade. Well, now they're signing Gilles Lee to a six point four million dollar offer sheet over two years. They are looking to potentially, you know, change this around, okay, and Mike Gilliesley may take that Lagarrett role. Okay, so watch out
on that and where then Mike Legarrett blunt wide up going. Okay, last news in order, I want to give you Derek Carr. Remember he broke his leg late in the season for the Oakland Raiders, and he's running, he's jumping, he's cutting, he's doing it all. Okay. The only problem is he also said today that Raiders fans who don't follow the team and continue to root for them after they move to Las Vegas that are from Oakland. He says that they just don't get it and that they are not
real fans. I told you before when we had that poll question up, I don't agree with this, Okay. I think he's kind of tone deaf here. You don't talk about this. You are the quarterback of this franchise. You don't call out your fans and say you're not real fans. You do not enter that fray if you are Derek Carr. In my opinion, I think this is a poor pr move, you know, for a team that has nothing but poor
PR around it. I think this was a bad move by Derek Carr, to be quite honest, even if you take that point of view, and I know some Rams fans that aren't cheering for the Rams anymore. I know some Chargers fans that aren't cheering for the Charges anymore, and that is a valid point of view. But even if you feel that way, Derek, shut the hell up. Don't say it, bro, Don't say it like that. That's kind of crazy. I think that's pretty tone deaf. And I want to know what you guys think, all right.
So that's why it's on one of our poll questions here on that f N T S Y Radio Twitter and you can get it if you follow me at Spitting Speeds on Twitter. Do you agree with Derek Carr that Raiders fans who don't follow the team the Vegas aren't real fans? Right now, fifty of you say no, you do not agree with him. Do agree that you need to maintain your loyalty and agree with what I think I would say, which is, YO, shut the hell up regardless you don't do that. Okay, but check this out.
Here's the other poll question we have up and I want to bring him a boy, Donny Burns to talk a little bit about this because he is our resident NBA correspondent here on the fantasy freesty, keeping it so hot that we sweat steam hot to death. Like Corey Stringer. Here's my question for you. Do you think the Pacers Paul George is kind of angling himself a free agency a little bit. You know, he has been very outspoken.
You remember after game one when he didn't get the final shot and he was saying against the cast, he was saying, Oh, I gotta get the final shot. I gotta get the final shot. Well, yo, Game two was yesterday, right, he had thirty two points, eight rebounds, seven assists. Was great, it was absolutely great. But once again chirping a lot after the game. Check this out, and I quote from Paul George, we just do a terrible job of getting back and guarding people. You know what else he did
he called out specific teammates. Remember in game one when he called out you know, he was like, I gotta take that shot. He did it again. Check this out. Talking about Miles Turner. He's got to know at this point we need him to take it to the next level and we'll continue to work with him. I've been in his ear all the way up to this point and the next step of growth for him. But in this league, you have to find it on your own.
I think that's like, what are you doing? Bro? Also about Land Stevenson, his teammate, He's got to learn to control himself. He's got to be just in the moment. His body language needs to improve. Paul George, also in a loss uh in March against Minnesota, said the team lacked a professional approach. He's done this before and here's the here's the other layer here. Paul George is a free agent next year this summer, and many people have you know, speculated that Paul George is on his way
to the l A Lakers. Remember we heard that at the trade deadline. So I kind of think that Paul George is maneuvering himself here so that he could have something of a split with the Indiana Pacers and be on his way. What do you think about this, Donnie Burns, I want to bring you in here right now on the Fantasy Freestyle, as you know, the respected correspondent that you are. I don't know. I mean, like, it's kind of weird that he's going after his teammates like this.
I can see this creating a a little bit of a rift with the Pacers, making it easier for him to move on because I mean, there against the Calves in the first round, he's got a this could be this series is the end of his PACER's career. What do you think about this? Yeah, so I hate hell it has to be PG because I'm a huge PG fan, But there's two things I don't like, and it kind of surround himself around the players he picked to talk about. He talks about Lane Stevenson, that happens to be your
most volatile player in terms of emotions. He could get you text in game. You're not really dealing with that the correct way. You're talking to the media about him. That's my first thing. You don't want to That's like trying to talk about Dennis Rodman or Wallace or something like that. You can't. Yeah, exactly and very Trumpian. So with Miles Turner, that's your young guy, that's your young, up and coming guy that you're supposed to be cultivating.
Exactly do you think d Wade would have came on the stand and started talking about his young guys like that. I really didn't like that because Miles Turner is gonna be a super here what he is? I mean, he's a star in this league, but he's gonna be a superstar later in the years. And I just really don't like how he's going about this. He's you know, he's
going for that all NBA team. That contract extension really anymore doesn't seem like it at least, So I don't know, do you think this is all just deployed to make him you know, I don't know. I don't know if he's a player that would is like that, I don't. I mean, but this could be agains. Sometimes at the
end the contracts, it ends bad, you know. And think about even with Lebron leaving Miami and leaving Cleveland, you know, like at the end of those runs, remember when he left Cleveland the first time that series against Boston but he finally lost. Well that was a little bit crazy with Delonte West and all that, But that's another story for another day. But even that last series in Miami, you know, like starting to show disdain for guys like
pat Riley, throwing the jerseys, that kind of stuff. This could be the narrative that Paul George is following. Very foreign to him, though we haven't seen that from PG and I don't know if ever so, Like I said, those are two of the wrong people to be doing that if you're trying to win a series. One is very pivotal and the other one could you know, get you guys dry of the game exactly. Well, I'm gonna tell you something, eight percent of the people out there
right now agree with both of us, Donnie Burns. They do think Paul George is angling himself for free agency this summer with these kind of comments. There's something to keep an eye, especially if the calves wind up, you know, sweeping them or dominating like most people do think will happen, is to see what Paul George does in fact say about it. Let's keep you moving here in a cipher in the Fantasy Freestyle. One thing I want to talk
to you guys about. And remember we are gonna have Thomas Lowe, the license certified Athletic trainer, coming on in our next segment. But um, something I really have to applaud, you know, and I do not usually applaud the n C double A. Donnie Burns. I don't usually applaud them, but I think they did something that was real important. In a ruling that passed on Friday, there will be no more to a day practices for college football, and
I think that's really important. They even said that they're guided by the medical professionals, they're guided by concerns around players safety. And this was just like that part of that old culture. You know you saw, like remember them Titans, even that movie them, like you know, in the in the in the summertime, doing two days in the heat and you're not really a man if you want to take water, you know, things like that. I think about how like Bear Bryant was glorified in the old moving
junction boys. Donnie, you're probably too young to know junction boys, right, Yeah, I'm all right. This was Bear Bryant, you know, Alabama football, and like how they would work out in the Texas heat, and like they were literally thought to be kind of weak if they asked for water and said they got like salt tabs. They you know, this was the kind of the way it was. So I'm I'm praising and I don't usually praise the n C double A, but
I am praising them. No more two A days. I mean, the NFL even banned two of days in two thousand and twelve. Okay, so how are you gonna be even behind the NFL on this aspect of players safety? You know how I care about this even You know, sometimes I talked about being hot to deaf like Corey Stringer. Do you even understand that one Donnie that was Corey Stringer was a Minnesota Vikings lineman who unfortunately passed away, passed away because of heatings ausen during during two doing
during two days. Okay for for the Minnesota Vikings. And this was about ten years ago, I would say, Okay, So the NFL banned that and it was still going on in college. It was up to coaches. It was up to coaches to kind of move away from this. Guys like Brett Biela must stop doing this a lot of people, but we know now more about our recovery and unfortunately Corey Stringer arrest in peace. But that is
where this came from. Okay. So I just want to tip my cap to the n C double A finally for stopping U two a day practices and hopefully you know, um starting to value the player athletes and the student athletes that they have one thing we already know Donnie Burns. We know the University of Texas football program is uh looking at player urine and hydration. So we're gonna find out what else Trainer Thomas Lowe has to say about this.
We're gonna talk to him. Part two of my interview with him coming up on the Fantasy Freestyle right after break. This is your boy Day Martinez a k A. To spitting statistician holding it down. American Forces Radio Network Sports Byeline affiliates were happy to be in Indiana. Maybe Paul George isn't, but we are. Fantasy Freestyle. Come all right back, you know what it is this avoid Dane Martinez. You're listening live to the Fantasy Freestyle on the Fantasy Sports

Of course, I want to give a
big shout out to our Sports Byeline affiliates. I told you before, maybe it sounds like Paul George doesn't want to be with the Pacers anymore. He's angling for NBA free agency this summer. I'll tell you what Fantasy freestyle. We are so happy to be in the state of Indiana. Want to give a big shout out to thirteen fifty AM and Kocomo fifteen fifty AM in Newcastle, Indiana were on in four AM and Richmond also in war Sword
w R s W at four eight am. Thank you so much to all of those affiliates in Indiana and around the country on Sports Byeline. You know it feels good, Donnie Burns. It feels good to have so many people you know, following the show. Hopefully they're listening to speci of spitting statistician because I'm giving them what they need to win their leagues and win that cash. Want to take a quick update. The New York Rangers have scored first here at Madison Square Garden. Late in the first period.
They take a one nothing lead. Also, at the end of the first quarter of the Toronto Raptors have a five point a six point lead on the Milwaukee Buck They're up thirty one. Now as they enter the second quarter in that one, remember Toronto looking to tie that series series at one. So remember now, yesterday we had part one of my interview with UH athletic trainer Thomas Lowe. We talked a lot about that string of hamstring injuries, Donnie.
I thought it was interesting. Yeah, we talked about moving team to team and how that also you know, you gotta get used to a different regiment. We also talked about the platelet blood spinning. We talked about the the injections and how they separate the plasma the parts of the blood that promote healing. I thought that was all real interesting. But Donnie to day in today's part to the conclusion of this interview, and you know, big shout
out to Thomas Lowe. Of course you can follow upso Thomas Lowe on Twitter at Tom low one on Twitter is great follow for your well your rehab needs. But here's the other thing. We get into this urine, We get into this urine density and this hydration, Donnie, and this is gonna be hysterical. Okay, So let's let's play part two of my interview with Thomas Lowe right now. So Thomas you're you're here back on the Fantasy Freestyle here on the Fantasy Sports Radio Network Game Martinez and
athletic trainer Thomas Lowe. You mentioned, you know, with the blood spinning beforehand, the you know, in the central fusee. The density another topic I wanted to talk to you. We have been here on the Fantasy Freestyle interested in a number of teams now looking at measuring the density of athletes urine as an indicator of hydration and overall, you know, health and performance. We thought this was a crazy story when I mentioned it to you, you say,
you've actually seen this in the field before yourself. No, so that's excellent. I actually have to do it. I've got certain teams that they have to they have to contro hydration testing before they can even compeep UM. So no, it's not crazy. It's an excellent idea. It takes quite a bit of time though. You have to take a urine sample UM and set up for hygiene and in privacy. Then you collect the sample. And there's a couple of
ways that I do it. You can use like a dip statement that the other one is called the refract armor. Both of these checks for specific gravity within the urine and then looking basically as the shade changes, you're hydrated or not, or I look for the magic number, you know, pointal to five. You you're you're hydrated or not, and then you can you can tell somebody you've got to change.
You know, how you're pushing out water. Either are things that are causing you to you know, as a dioresis, or you need to have more fruits and vegetables and soft selectual because a two percent loss of body water it's gonna affect work before and output. But now, if you can give a tough competitor, a tough opponent, Okay, I'm gonna give you a tent handicap. I'm so gonna
beat you. Good luck with that. If you have the four lots of body weight and water, your prony, heat exhaustion, heat stroke just a four percent loss, and then if you get heat stroke, then you're not gonna like what I'm gonna have to do some there, So doing you your analysis isn't an issue that if you go on the heat stroke before I can transport you out, I have to check your core body temperature to make sure
you say, go to the hospital. So you don't have liver and organ failure, and that procedure involves a since flexible erectal you know, probe to check your core temperature. All right, I'd rather just stay hydrated. I guess huh, that's so same for me the other day hydrated. So so wait a second, give all us listeners here, you know the inside, give us a little free advice here, Thomas, when you said the shade of urine, I'm looking for what I'm looking for bright, I'm looking for dark. I'm
looking for yellow. What am I looking for? Excellent question. You're looking for? Yeah, very light? Um, No more than lemonade. If it's lemonade, I'm looking for lemonade, very very very you know white, you know, waters to lemonade, very light lemonade. If it looks closer to apple juice, then you're you're usually dehydrated. That's one check point. UM. Typically, vitamin is like B vitamins. If you take those shortly after the next time or two, your urin will be darker because
there's agents that will color your urine from that. But if you're not taking the vitamins, UM, then it's it's probably because you're dehydrated. In the last thing, it's just urine output. If you have a copious output and urinating frequently, then you're you're hydrated. But um, you know, if you're not urinating, regardless of the color, it's it's not you don't have enough going into the cells. And if you wait till your thirsty, thirsty is a poor indicator of
hydrated and you're already dehydrating because you're thirsty. Okay, and that's that's great information. Thanks again, uh Thomas low here on the Fantasy Freestyle. I gotta tell you, though, everything you're telling me makes complete sense from a medical standpoint, right and understanding you know everything from diet to sleep
patterns to I guess you're in density. But as an as a former athlete, on some level, do you see do you see like I see this as something of invasion of privacy, Like is there is there any limit to how far will go to understanding like the biometrics of our performance and how to optimize it. Well, if if you're talking about universities, when you're on scholarship, they
somewhat on you. And then if you're a pro in there, they're paying you, they're want you're wanting optimal performance as far as you know, hating below that at the high school level. Yes, there's a consent you must get depending on the rules you have to do this where you can't participate. Um, but it's if it's if it's done for the most part, regarding rules, it would be for your safety to make not cutting weight too drastically as a wrestler or using any other means of the gymnasts
to lower weight. So it would be for safety, not really so much for control. Well I guess I guess that's true. If I'm signing a contract and they're paying my bills, I guess they owned me even down to my yearine. Hey, Thomas, I have one more question for you. You mentioned something you know that there's people are trying so many new things you know from from blood spinning.
But one of the things you mentioned to me before the quality if you could share with our listeners one more time, is uh the idea of potentially some value and in the crown of a rooster and other substances that doctors are not even expanding with. Yeah, that's just an animal story that I heard of someone going in for a tritus and obviously even younger athletes who have been beaten up their joints for a while get this
uh artritus that can be acute, not necessarily chronic. And so they're now working with a substance of extracted from the crown of a rooster. I guess an enzyme that they'll object them to the joint and I've been hearing again animal stories evidence of people getting relief from that, and so again I don't know if they're using it more as a bio lubricants or if it's if it has anti inflammatory properties. Wow, absolutely incredible, Thanks again Thomas
for coming back on the show. They're really doing a lot of work in nutrition now. Is everybody is looking for things, you know, instead of because the performance enhancement is is so shunned upon now that people less and less people are trying to get black balls from sports
by doing steroids or anything. You know, when when you lose your heroes like l Anti arm Strong and very viols of other people are using Okay, what can we do to optimize performance of recovery or do the best we can with what we have And a lot of the big Tenton schools like Northwestern out here, um there I just said in a presentation with them. They're doing a lot for exclamation response immunity response, because as you work hard, it makes you you have this open window
to get stick more often. Uh, you get more in plane, you get man, you can't work out right, and then you were heading a traction. You're answers about the fluid and tradition that's there are a lot of big ten places and crows are looking at. Okay, we can't cheat, but let's make sure we got enough oil and tank water in the engine. You know that everything is very grow. You are now officially a friend of the Fantasy Freestyle coming on twice. Can we reach out to you a
little bit again, maybe later on in the season. Yeah, yeah, called me back, let me know, good luck with the show. Thanks for including me absolutely, and you can follow Thomas low on Twitter at tom low one, um, you know for all of your interesting rehab and training needs. So definitely go out and follow him, and thanks again for the time Thomas. All right, sounds good, So there you go.
That was the second part of my interview with certified athletic trainer Thomas Lowe here on Fantasy Freestyle and the Fantasy Sports Radio Network Donnie Burns. It's interesting for like the last two weeks, you know, we've been talking about this measuring urine density and this idea of hydration. We even had it up as a poll question. But it's interesting as soon as as soon as the trainer describes it,
it kind of makes perfect sense. You know. He talked about how only a two percent loss of the water that you have, you know, if you're not fully hydrated, that is a drop of of your performance as an athlete. And he talked about at these levels, whether it be college or in the pros, you know, you can't put these guys in a disadvantage and expect to still you know, win.
So I mean when he framed it like that, you know, it went very quickly from something that we were joking about, from like the Golden urinal with the San Francisco Giants and the m v P award are are are to like, actually, wow, this is actually you know, relevant, valid and progressive sports science.
What do you think done? Yeah? And the big thing that I got out of that was he made it very much known that it's not that invasive, you know what I mean, Like a lot of these teams and a lot of these corporations that they pretty much own you. And they said that in an interview. They own you. They need to know what they're working with. And like I say, every time we listen to this guy, I'm glad you you bring them on the show because it's
very informative. A lot of these things we don't know. Yeah, and he also listened free medical advice here on Fantasy Freestyle. He like, Okay, we've been joking about it, right, we've been joking about it. But he actually more, he actually told you what to look for. I kid you not. He said, lemonade is good, apple juice is bad. Listen, if you listen to nothing else on the Fantasy Freestyle, you need to know lemonade is good, apple juice is bad.
You know, it makes complete sense because he talks about you know, as we move away from p E. D S. Even if you're as long as you're not named Starling Marte apparently, but um, as we move away, these scientists have to figure out, like you know, what to do with their eating, their diet, we what to do with the sleep. Remember we had Tomic on a couple of weeks ago talking about how the sleep impacts you know, things like turnovers and attentiveness and and even with your urine.
So I think it's completely I think it's really interesting and big shout out again to Thomas Low who came on, and even things like he talked about the crown of a rooster, what kind of stuff is in there? I remember there was a couple of years ago where um as a as A as a steroid people were talking about the substances and dear antlers as well, So you
never know what is going to come on. The one thing he did, Donnie, you said it was not invasive, but he said though that if you lose four percent of your body water and you get into heat exhaustion, that he then would have to check your core temperature.
And he described things there that sounded pretty invasive to me. Yeah, a little bit there, but in this in the same in the same breath, I mean invasive as like an athlete, you know what I mean, Like you kind of on you want to be understanding of what happens, and like if that happens on the field, I guess you gotta do what you gotta do. Absolutely absolutely, But thanks again to my man Thomas Low from coming onto the show. He is now officially a friend of the show here
on the Fantasy Freestyle. Big shout out also as always to our American Forces Radio Network viewers and our Sports Byline affiliates across the country. You want to take a quick check of our polls. Remember right now, still agree with me saying that Derek Carr just needs to chill and shut the hell up. Regardless, do not agree. I think that fans should be able to maybe, you know, reconsider their loyalties after the team moves, especially the Raiders
going from Oakland to Vegas, the hometown team. When we come back with Nakaya, nice little bow on it. Me and Donnie Burns here on the Fantasy Freestyle on the Fantasy Sports Radio.
