He's gonna be in the chat room, and we're gonna be checking in with him a little bit later on in the
show for a number of reasons. Okay, we gotta find out what the people are saying in the chat room. We gotta catch Chris up on all the fun and functional sports radio we had while he was gone. And because he is here, the day has come for Speeds to hear some of the lyricism that Venture put out when he was covering for me when I was half a world away. He probably knew that because I was
half a world away, the coast was clear. But we hold him accountable today, and we juxtaposed it against a couple of other lyricists out there, Cole Beasley and Lavian Bell. What we're also going to do because I'm gonna give you my confidence ranks on the four defenses that are still left playing on a f C and NFC Championships. Sunday, we talked a little bit about the Major League Baseball hot stove. We talked about McCutcheon that was moved. We
talked about Garrett Cole that was moved. But I also mentioned that uh, the hot stove is not as hot as it has been in previous years. It's kind of like the MLB Luke warm Stove. And I'm gonna tell you the reasons why there is a lot of people there's rationale behind why some of these big moves and splashes have not happened as much in this offseason. I'm gonna break those down for you. And of course, as always, we got a poll question on Twitter. You could always
catch me at spitting Speeds on Twitter. You could answer the polls, give me a follow, ask questions and be part of the hashtag stats over Beat Cipher. The question as we go through the defenses that are left, do you still need a franchise quarterback to win in today's NFL? Yes or no? That's what I want you to do. Hop on Twitter and answer the poll, Hop on the
YouTube chat and start to debate this. And when we bring in my man Ventra a little bit later on, we're gonna find out what the hashtags stats over beat Cipher is saying. But when we come back, what we're gonna do is we're gonna go around the league news and notes. I'm gonna talk a little bit about the
lukewarm Stove over there in Major League Baseball. Later on in the show, I give you my confidence ranks of all the defenses, and we catch up Chris Venture on all the Fun and Functional sports Radio, including in his raps that we have been talking about in the last couple of weeks. Welcome back to the Fantasy Freestyle right here on the Fantasy Sports Radio Network. It's your boy A Martinez Speeds, the spitting statistician, the stable genius of the Fantasy Sports Radio Network. I am in
excellent health, no cognitive issues with your boy Speeds. Let's go around the NFL. There are some news and notes that I want to get to a lot of things going about, you know, offensive coordinators, defensive coordinators, head coach openings, and what I find interesting. Remember last week where I ranked kind of the NFL jobs that were available. Ironically, these jobs are basically getting filled in the order that I told you I would preference them. You know, Oakland
got filled. Then we heard that the Patriots coordinators were taking on the Detroit job. In the Indianapolis job that I talked about, I mentioned that in the case of Chicago, they would have to reach for kind of like a hot coordinator, and that's exactly what they did with Naggie from Kansas City. And now we are hearing about the names that are in on places like the Giants, places like Arizona. This is the next cut. These are like you know, in a schoolyard pick, they get the next pick.
You know, this is the next level down. So, for example, Panthers defensive coordinators Steve Wilkes and Vikings offensive coordinator Pat Shermer, they seem to be in line to land with the Giants and land with the Cardinals. But both names have been reported in both places, so we are still going to have to wait to find out which one belongs where. I think ultimately Shermer will be with the Giants and Steve Wilkes will get an opportunity with the Arizona Cardinals.
Remember also, Shermer has said that he may likely bring case Keenum with him. Okay, there are reports of that happening as well. Would that be a benefit with the Giants where maybe ELI would move on and Keenum could be a bridge to maybe the number two overall pick or could Keenum, you know, be the man in Arizona as the air and parent to Carson Palmer if indeed
pet Shermer goes there. Um the Titans. Remember this is a new there's a new opening, okay in Tennessee after Malarkey left where they parted ways mutually yesterday, And it sounds like Panthers d C. Steve Wilkes is also an option there. It looks like the Titans will interview him. Also, you know, Wilkes, Um, there's no clean way to say this. Wilkes is African American, Okay, So maybe Wilkes is just the hot name that's making the rounds to satisfy the
Rooney rule. We want to see if Wilkes does ultimately get an opportunity at this time around. As we go to Tampa Bay, g M Jason Lick gave his kind of like post uh after the season kind of autopsy, and he actually says that multiple injuries were to blame for the disappointing Tampa Bay two thousand seventeen season. Remember Jamis missed some time, so people on defense McCoy even missed some time there in Tampa Bay, and he said, you know, he was asked about why Cutter is coming back.
A lot of people kind of uh had suspicions that Tampa Bay would be a job opening this year, and he's saying that the rationale there is they want to keep continue, uh you know, continuity kind of or have it be stable there and that being the priority. I would say, this is kind of like that last chance saloon. Okay, this is Cutter and that staffs his last chance. If they have another disappointing year. I imagine Tampa Bay will
be a job opening at this point next year. If you remember, I said at the beginning of the season, one of the things I always do is I fade the team that is on Hard Knocks. We heard all off season when Hard Knocks was on about the leadership of Jamis Winston. Let me tell you something. With Jamis Winston blowing up in Week seventeen, with Jamis Winston putting his finger in the helmet ear whole of someone else,
I don't think that was actual leadership. Okay. We talked about how great the Dishelan Jackson edition was gonna be. He didn't really do much. He wasn't a difference maker, but we get brainwashed when you watch Hard Knocks, you know with the NFL films music in the background, So uh fade the Hard Knocks team. Who do you think and we can talk about this in the YouTube chat as well, Venture, who do you think would be a great candidate for hot for Hard Knocks next year? I
think there's some very interesting options. You know, who would be a great I know Venture would like this. What about San Francisco with Jimmy g Q coming in a new regime, a lot of people expecting things out of San Francisco. What about the cat scratch fever and these Jacksonville Jaguars That would be very interesting as well. Building off the success of this year, we might have to put that up as a pole question later on in the week. Which team would be a good fit next
year for hard knoo What about the Raiders? You know some characters there John Gruden as well. Do me a favorite? Venture engaged with the people over there in the chat room down there in the hashtags stats over beat cipher see who they think would be a good candidate for Hard Knocks next year? All right? A J mccaren but backup in Cincinnati, quote unquote, wanted a chance to start. Remember there was that move that he was like traded to Cleveland and then the Browns didn't put the paperwork
into the league office. There's been a lot of talk for the last couple of seasons around a J mccaren so. I wind up, he might be in this quarterback carousel this offseason. We're finding out he's a restricted or unrestricted free agent before the new league year. He might be out there as an option for some teams as well.
Add that to Tyrod Taylor, Kirk Cousins, Alex Smith, probably Eli Manning, you know, all three Minnesota Vikings quarterbacks, you know, and what we know is a deep draft class with the names like Donald and Rosen, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Baker Mayfield and others. Also, uh, we're starting to hear some of the cracks in Pittsburgh as as well. Okay, Todd Haley might wind up being the fall guy. Okay,
the offensive coordinator for the Pittsburgh Steelers. There's a lot of talk that maybe him and Big Ben Roethlisberger did not have the best of relationships. They was talking about the quarterbacks coach, a guy named Randy Fitcher, being kind of the buffer for them. Big Bend even wanted the quarterbacks coach to come down on the sideline during game days to kind of be this buffer and kind of
help code switch because the communication was that bad. I'm telling you now, as you know the Steelers get bounced, all of a sudden, you start to hear what was going on behind the scenes. The cracks. Big Ben went on his radio show in Pittsburgh saying that quote unquote, the least amount of change is best again kind of like uh in Tampa, they said they want, you know, kind of to continue the stability, and that's why cutters there. Big Ben saying the same thing about Todd Haley. But
we'll keep an eye out on that. There's also rumors that quote unquote limited partners of the Pittsburgh Steelers one and Mike Tomlin out. So listen, a lot of things happen when you lose. If you're remember that's why I was saying, if the Patriots lose then and and McDaniels goes away and Patricia goes away, maybe we'll start healing. Hearing about all the tell all you know, accounts of what's been going on inside that locker room for the
last you know, two decades. I'd want to hear about spygate. I'd want to hear about Tom Brady's phone. I'd want to hear about P S, I S and the like that will eventually come. I think that is interesting. The Seattle Seahawks have hired Ken Norton back as their defensive coordinator. He was the lightning backers coach there from two thousand
ten to two thousand fourteen. This doesn't excite me. Even Pete Carroll said it was a comfortable higher because he had been there before this guy that got fired by the Oakland Raiders this season. So I don't know. And also, you know they hired Brian Schottenheimer to be their offensive coordinator. Those hires, they don't move me. They don't excite me. I'm a little bit worried about the Seattle Seahawks moving forward. Last note I'll give you is that Ben McAdoo is
interview you in for the offensive coordinator role in Cleveland. Remember, maybe McAdoo fizzled out as a head coach but did great things as an offensive coordinator. Maybe that's the lane he needs to stay in. All right, here's the uh, the next thing I wanted to say real quick. I talked about it a little bit yesterday. How um, not a lot of movements in the MLB off season so far. You know that the hot stove is still kind of cold. You know, we're still uh you know, sure we heard
Garrett Cole move. Ye uh, Stanton moved, you know, but none of these big signings, some of these big ticket free agents still have yet to sign. J D. Martinez still has yet to sign. You Darvish still has yet to sign. There's a couple of um, you know, Jake Garrietta, Eric Cosmer, Mike Mustakas and others. There are still dominoes left to fall. So I asked myself self, why is that the case? And here's a couple of things, um
that to keep an eye on. One is that everybody is waiting, in my opinion, to spend their money next off season. The free agent class in two thousand eighteen. Who some big boys. I'm talking Machado, I'm talking Donaldson, I'm talking Bryce Harper, I'm talking Clinton Kershaw. Potentially I'm talking Charlie Blackman. So why invest in a mediocre crop? And you know, not have enough money to maybe make a run at some of these guys. I think that
is an issue. The other thing is, remember there's a harsher luxury tax penalties these days for any team that goes over that one uh I think it's the one seven or one nine seven million. That threshold the luxury tax is a lot more after changes to the cb uh c b A, So maybe even teams like the Dodgers and the Yankees are trying to avoid that. There's also a couple of other things that I want to
mention when we come back. Okay, before I get into my ranks of the confidence of the defenses, there's a couple of other things that I think are very interesting. One is about and a player agent that may be holding the cards, and another is basically it comes down to moneyball. And if these gms have all these stats, if I have all these stats with the stats overbeat Cipher, how much differentiation really is there in the market or is there in terms of thinking? That's really interesting. I'm
gonna get into that when we come back. What we're also gonna do is I'm gonna break down how I would rank my confidence in the four defenses. That are still left there. And then towards the end of the show, we're gonna bring in my guy, Chris, the analyst Ventra. It's your boy. We're gonna catch him up and I'm gonna hear uh his attempts at rapping. Here. It is, after all, the Fantasy Freestyle. Okay, we're gonna check in on the chat room. We're gonna check in on that
pole as well. Do you need a franchise quarterback? Some interesting questions there, But I want to finish this piece on maybe some rationale behind why the MLB Hot Stalls is only lukewarm this offseason. All that and more when we come back, it is the Fantasy Freestyle with your boys Speeds, the spitting statistician, the stable genius is in the building here on a Tuesday with the award winning fantasy sports radio network. So come on back. We got
a lot more to chop it up with. And let me know on Twitter on the YouTube chat, my name is Drek Susan. Some of my rights. It's an executive who turns last year's trash into this year's cash. Now this comes as a curious hire because Norton was actually fired by the Raiders in November. But Pete Carroll is called this comfortable higher because Norton has been with him from two thousand four or two thousand and fifteen and both of USC in Seattle, and he had coached the linebackers from two
thousand and ten to two thousand and fifteen. So he comes back to an organization that knows him, and he knows them. Six am Eastern only on the Fantasy Sports meeting on that way. Hey, I'm Jeff. You know what it is.
We do it so well. Here on the Fantasy Free Style, it's your boy, the stable genius speeds, the spitting statistician. No cognitive issues here, Bring on the Walter Read doctors. I'm ready to show them that I'm fit and ready to go. Here on the Fantasy Sports Radio Network, I was telling you about maybe some reasons why the hostel isn't as hot this offseason. And let me tell you something. The deals back it up. The numbers back it up. As of last week and this off season, there had
only been forty five deals in free agency. This compared against the previous years of sixty two, eighties, six, seventy two, nine two. By this point in the year, a lot of free agent deals have already been done. The millions have already been spent, but not so much. And to be quite honest, I'm over here trying to make my fantasy baseball ranks and I can't yet because I don't know where J. D. Martinez is. Because I don't know where your Darfish is. I don't know where Hasmer is.
I don't know where Lorenzo Caine is and what that means to the lineups or the staffs that they will go to. So you know, we gotta get going with this. I told you about the luxuryy tacks. I told you about the rock star class of two thousand and eighteen, that a lot of people are waiting for Machad Old, Donaldson Blackman, Dallas Kaikol and more. Here are some other ideas, though, a lot of the big time free agents this year all have Scott Boris as their agent, and you know
Boris likes to get every penny. He possibly can. But the thing is, I think that he has the ability annwn is to set the overall market for his other clients, right, so he doesn't want to take less for one of his clients because he knows there's a domino effect for another guy. So he's even holding up. I think think that that kind of uh those demands even more because of the ripple effect, because of the implication for other clients.
And then I also told you that there's a and this Jeff Passon on Yahoo does a great job here and mentioned that, um, there's just like less diversity and thinking in front offices. And that's a very interesting point to me. Remember there are a couple of years ago, you know, when Moneyball started and then everybody started caring about on base percentage, right, and you know last year I was talking about it on the Fantasy Freestyle, how everybody cares more about launch angle and it's trying to
get the ball up in the air. So these are now stats that are prized. These are what front offices are looking for, you know, maybe and these three true outcomes or pitch framing, you know, or cap or nine ratio whatever, the deep stat is all the front office is looking at the same thing and valuing it the same way. These players are now have the same evaluations from them front office to front office, you know, so
the tier is set. It's almost like if you're going into your fantasy foot ball draft and every manager was thinking about building their team the same exact way. If everybody was gonna wait on quarterback, then no quarterbacks would go. And that's what's happening in this kind of almost collusion like atmosphere about the valuation of stats and the value of the data that is out there. So I think that is very interesting. I will tell you this on
tomorrow's episode of The Fantasy Freestyle. I'll go through some of the uh, some of the big deals that still could be made, and some of the ones, quite frankly, that should have been made already. When you think about these Florida Marlins and the fire stale that is happening, maybe JT. Real Muto should already be traded, Maybe Christian Yellich should already be gone. I'm gonna try to find good marriages for some of those people a little bit later on in the week here on the Fantasy Freestyle.
But what I told you I wanted to do is I want to rank the four defenses that are left for the Lombardi Trophy in my opinion, and the ones that I have the most confident in moving forward this weekend. Okay, so when I do that, my number four we'll go forward to one. My number four is the New England Patriots. I don't have confidence in this defense. This has not been a great defense. They were really up and down. They have gotten better under Matt Patricia before he apparently
goes to the Lions. But here's the thing. They don't move me. I think they're lucky that they're playing the Jacksonville Jaguars this week. Although listen, I think it's funny, but the jag scored forty They scored forty five points, only thirty eight of it was by the offense. But that was up against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and then they do the same against the New England Patriots. I'm not I'm not gonna plant my flag on that. The Patriots are the defense that I have the least confidence in
among the four that are left. From there, I think it's important to go to the top the defense I have the most confidence in. Everybody's talking about cat scratch fever, the Jackson five and all that stuff. NA give me the Minnesota Vikings. And here's why for me, okay comes into the familiarity with the system. You know, we just talked about how in Aampa Bay and in Pittsburgh they want that stability, that familiarity, and you have that more
in Minnesota than you do in Jacksonville. Mike Zimmer, the head coach, brought his system over. He knows it to a t, and he has been finding players that fit that system, that fit his scheme. And a lot of the players there in Minnesota have been with the team now three four years in the system. You know Smith as the free safety, Xavier Road, some of the front edge rushers between Griffin, you know, and and some of
the linebackers is a well bar. They have grown together and I like that as the tiebreaker over the Jacksonville Jaguars for me, and to be quite honest, this week specifically, they just have an easier challenge than the Jacksonville Jaguars. They get to see the Nick Foles led Philadelphia Eagles as opposed to my number two defense, the Jacksonville Jaguars, which have to go on the road to see Tom Brady. So for me, the defining factor of the Minnesota Vikings
defense is the familiarity with the system. The cogs have been in place and it is all led by their head coach Mike Zimmer, who knows his scheme remember bringing it from Cincinnati. The Vikings defense is the defense I have the most confidence in of the four remaining. Number two for me would be Jacksonville. I love this Jacksonville Jaguars attitude led by Jalen Ramsey not giving a damn.
It's almost like he's the new honey Badger. Remember Ty Matthew And it was like, Yo, honey Badger, don't give a what you know? This guy, Jalen Ramsey, you always second year getting in the head of a J. Green, you know, making plays week after week, is already a pro bowler. Um. I think it is the first of many to be quiet honest. The other thing I like is I love a J. Bouyer. They listen, The Vikings
have grown up in the system together. The Jaguars went out in free agency and found people, Okay, a J. Booyer. They signed Calais Campbell the year before that, they get uh Malie Jackson. They trade from Marcel Darius Okay, Whereas the Vikings are trying to grow up together. And don't get me wrong, the Jags are doing some of that Jalen Ramsey, Dante Fowlure, uh, Miles Jack as well, right, but they're also cherry picking from people and trying to
have it formed together. I love it, um. And what I also like about the Jaguars defense is that they have a complementary offensive style. Finally, and that's what I think was a very big piece of this as well. Right, them drafting Leonard four Nett trying to minimize the risk of Blake Bortles. I love both of these defenses are doing. I just lean slightly to the defense that is growing up together in a consistent scheme, that is the Minnesota Vikings.
So I got Vikings one, Jags two, already told you to patch our number four for me. That leaves the Philadelphia Eagles as the defense I have the third most confidence in this week I've been on the Philadelphia Eagles. If you listen to the Fantasy Freestyle, if you're part of the stats overbeat cipher, you already know this. Man. I told you a long time ago that the Philadelphia Eagles would be in the NFC Championship game, and here they are. Here's what I love about the Eagles. One,
it's the defensive line. They were the first team really to get not like just four guys on the defensive line, they have eight. They know you gotta keep these guys fresh and rotate in. It's not just Cox. They went out and got Journe again. They went out and get Long. They still draft Barnett, They have Brandon Graham. They knew that you gotta keep these bodies fresh to kind of cave the pocket. I love what they do there. Their linebacker level, though not as impressed with when it comes
to up against Minnesota, up against Jacksonville. But I will say this their secondary. You know, you know that they were like number one against the run and bad, you know, top five against the past. But I like what they're doing in the secondary. Also trading for Ronald Darby. They also remember drafted Sidney Jones. Remember the name Sydney Jones. This is a kid who tore As Achilles. Was one of the best cornerbacks in college last year at Washington
tour As Achilles. The Eagles I think used their second round pick on this kid because they saw the potential for the future. Remember last year when, um, we're two years ago when the Cowboys drafted Jalen Smith and they knew he wasn't gonna be healthy to play in his entire first year, and now they are reaping the benefits. The Eagles did something similar. Remember the name Sydney Jones. He's cornerback out of the University of Washington, had an
achilles injury. He's going to be ready next year to make that defense even better. The other reason that uh the Eagles, or it's a it's a you know, plug for them, is they're gonna be at home. Did you see the home crowd in Philly last week? How they were able to kind of get hype with their crowd, And I think that really did matter a little bit, you know, throughout the game when putting pressure on Matt Ryan. So there you have it. These are my defensive confidence
ranks for the four remaining teams. I go Vikings number one, a hair over the Jaguars because I like that that that team has grown up in the system under Mike Zimmer. Love the Jags, but remember they're doing it both ways, trying to draft young talent and they've hit on Ramsey, on h on jack and on Fowler. But they will also have augmented it so much by signing A. J. Bouyer, signing Willie Jackson, Trede, ing for Morsel Darius, and then signing what could have been the biggest one of them all,
Collis Campbell. With that squad, I like the way they're putting it together. Eagles three and Patriots four. I'll give you my ranks of the offenses is on tomorrow's edition of the Fantasy Freestyle. When we come back here on the Fantasy Freestyle, though, we are going to put the fun back in Functional Sports Radio. My boy Chris Ventra. First of all, I gotta give him a huge shout out and thank you for covering for me when I
was away in Asia. This is the first time that I have Ventra with me since then, So we gotta catch him up. I gotta ask him how it was to fill in on the Fantasy Freestyle. We gotta catch him up on some of the things we've talked about the last week or two, you know, the idea of replacing our mascot ted Finn Jr. The idea of the concussions or the concussion protocol and the playoffs. We also got to talk about his record up against the kids, because we got his picks the kids their winning percentage
is better than the analyst Chris Venture. And then we gotta cap it off with I heard, uh, he did a little bit of rapping when I was away. We
have that audio. And then we'll also check in with you the stats

We'll see what the people are saying if you in fact need a franchise quarterback in order to win in two day's NFL, and we'll see what else the people are talking about. It's the freestyle. They need another outfield because as of right now, and they have projected Curtis Granderson at one coin one outfield
and Steve Pearson the other. Those two guys are a natural platoon. In my opinion, He's on your map only leads. If you're playing some of these fifty round draft and mixed team fifteen teamers, still be some bench death plug him in for some power, But outside of that, I mean you know what you're getting out of Curtis Grand three days from eleven to noon Eastern only on the Fantasy Sports Radi Network. Right here on the Fantasy Sports Radio Network, Dane Martinez, speeds and spitting statistician holding you down on a Tuesday and I'm very excited. I'm very happy that we finally get to have our next segment. First of all, once again, I want to thank my man, Chris Venture,
the analyst. He helped me down for about a week a week and a half over the holidays when I was on vacation over in Asia, I was over in Cambodia, I was over in Thailand. Made it happen by way of China. Did a lot of good stuff out there. Um, you know, all the good stuff was done. But let's bring in Chris Ventra right now. Hey Ventra, it's your boy. How you doing, man? How's it going, brother? How you doing? I'm doing very good. It sounds like you're eating something. Yeah,
you called me right when I was eating. You're reading some crackers. Crackers are obviously the best thing to be eating when you're about to go on air on the radio as well. You're a professional Venture if nothing else. But first of all, my man, while you finishing the crackers, I want to once again say thank you, bro, thank
you for holding me down over the holidays. With the hashtags stats over beat Cipher, I was able to check in a couple of times and listen to you a couple of times you and Corey Parson really would do when your thing. Uh, how was it sitting in speeds his chair with the hashtag stats over beat cipher? How was it? Oh? I loved it. It was such. It was a great time. I mean, Corey is great. You know, obviously I would love to do that with you as well one day. But um, you know, it was a
great time. You got a great cipher. They're awesome, all right enough, No, I appreciate it. Yeah, yeah, we're gonna get to that. Don't worry. We're gonna get to that in a second. Um, here's what I want to ask you about first, because you know, even when you were in here over the last week, you would chime in on a couple of things like our poll topics and
stuff like that. And you know, one of the things that happened when I was over away on vacation is unfore we lost uh we lost Ted Finn Jr. And so we talked a lot on their last week about how we move on from Ted finn Jr. There was a lot of ideas, do we get another fish, you know, your boy down there, uh Bovona wanted to maybe get a Venus fly trap. Maybe our girl you don't remember Jilly Dilley in the statsoldat Tier. She hit me up said that maybe we should get a turtle and Nave
name him Levy on Shell. I thought that was pretty cool instead of Avian Bell. I might get a turtle myself. Uh, at some point this winter, I'm trying to see if that's a that's a pet that I can get. You know, I'm allergic. People were talking about getting dogs and cats here in the studio. I was like, not, I'm allergic to that. But then I saw you on Twitter, Chris, and you said that you should be the mascot because
over the holidays you also put corn rows in. Huh yeah, yeah, I actually Mike Florio said I should be the mascot. I didn't. So what do you think you think you have mascot potential? I don't know, man. I mean, I don't want to be sitting in the studio all day in a tank. You know, fair enough fair and if you don't want to be an attach and I want to pounce one more idea off you because uh, we had you know, we had a poll and someone and the winner was actually that we shouldn't do anything. You know,
we should not replace Ted Finn. Someone said that what we should do is get an honorary plaque and put it up to commemorate Ted Finn here in Studio thirty four. What do you think about that? I think that's not a bad idea. I think, yeah, maybe we should give it some time, some time to kill. You know, yeah, it's too soon. Maybe we let's think about it and then, you know, as time passes, maybe we'll get a new pet. All right, fair enough, so we'll keep that on the radar.
You mentioned that you put some verses, and we're gonna get into that in a hot second. First, before we hear Ventra, what do I want to hear Bevona is? We're gonna start with some Cold Beasley action wide receiver of the Dallas Cowboys. You know, anytime there's an athlete out there dropping bars, we want to hear about it here on the stats over beat cipher. You know what it is. We put the fun and Functional sports radio.
Let's hear Bevona now some of the recent Cold Beasley rhymes, so we could critique this and know what of venture is up against here? Uh in the battle session here on the Fantasy Free Style. Let's get a little cold Beasley. But by me, I'm bossed out. But Sunday Jerry's fass. Now when I ball loud on a dog with dad hits the ball out, put a sauce out, Put a sauce on him. That's too much, good wife, that's too clutch.
Without a back, boy can't do much making moves like food trucks, getting tit of bread till it's tewed up in my bakett countle. Look two stuff. Huh white dude repond too tough. Well okay, okay, that's enough. That's enough because he said white dude repin too tough. Right. And So for all y'all who don't know who didn't see on the YouTube stream, you know Chris Venture is also
a Caucasian. We were talking about this before, uh Venture and I because I just did the twenty three and me and we're trying to find out what my heritage actually is. You can hit me up on the YouTube chat or on Twitter. What do y'all think I am? That's another thing we can do. Um. But we're gonna go from a Caucasian offensive player to an African American football player. Let's go to Levyan Bell, who apparently has a little more time on his hands after the loss
to the Jacksonville Jaguars. He has a whole like ep out. One of the tracks on that is Wednesday. I want you to note some of the similarities. This is another kind of with Cole Beasley, was a little bit of trap music, a little down south bouncing, same thing from Levy on Bell. Let's listen right now to l Bell and Wednesday real quick ahead, but on damn five. Yeah, it's a long intro for Levy and it's like his patient going to the whole before my whole team up
from my bag. I told on my boys in here, bro, they can never last. Hey, don't fall for them traps. Hey, yes, I got your bag. Hey, I'm a running tracks all theo. Whitey, it's my bad break out. Man. I got this money counted, just like coming the nick counts. He's got that money counted just like he is an accounting Okay, that is the uh. That is the verbal fire coming from Levy on Bell. So Ventra, I want to ask you first, who do you like better, Beasley or Levy On Honestly, man,
I think cold. I like, Oh, I'm with you. I'm going with Cole Beasley as well, because Cole had a little bit more his his lyrics were faster paced, right, you know some of these guys right now and some of the Southern wrap and stuff. It's just so slow. It's too slow for a New Yorker like me. Okay, I want to I want there to be punchlines all the time. I want you to be needed to listen quick enough. Hence hence my day name is speed. Hence
why my name is speed. So I'm with you. I got Cole Beasley greater than Signed Levy on Bell and Ventra. I'm glad we're on the same page. I'm glad we are normed in what is quality lyricism because now we're gonna play a little bit of Chris Ventra. I hear. There were two attempts at this. Can you set this up for me, Chris? Yeah? So I think it was the Friday, which was the second day the freestyle. Corey and I botched it up bad because we dropped the beat on it, and that threw me and I threw
you off. Yeah, I lost my complete train of thought. Okay, uh, and so which one do we have here, Bovona, Do we have the first effort or his second effort? What do we got second effort? Okay, let's hear a little bit of Chris Ventra repping hard on the fantasy freestyle with the stats overbeat Cipher. This is your boy the analyst. If a dilly dilly for staying true, it ain't speeds, but your boy in the exact could drop them balls to tune in, chill out and grab yourself a be
a while. We locked this ship down straight through that the New Year. We're talking Girly Kamara and Glucci Garoppo, So forget the mother fu gases. They simply ain't got the same flow. Yeah, okay, okay, I like how you get in the fool gazes representing the statue. Okay, dropping a bomb on this now. I heard that that was actually your second attempt, which was far better than the first one, right because I did that Pellow. But you know,
you see, I can't spit fast like you slow. And one of my favorite rappers ever his camera and he's he's my boy, so you know I kind of spit slow, but you know I was trying to just do something. You know for the for the crew for this all right, so do me a favorite. If you're watching right now on the YouTube live stream, hit us up in the chat. Let us know who do you think was best? Cole Beasley,
Levy on Bell or our Boy Chris Ventra. The analysts don't want to know what people are thinking, Ay Ventro? What else are people saying on the YouTube chat? What do you think about this pole question? Do you still need a franchise quarterback to win in two day's NFL? What are the people saying? Well, I've seen a lot of comments on Twitter about it. Okay, um, I love
this question because, honestly, it's a great question. Honestly, I think that you don't need one for an individual championship, like to win a Super Bowl one year, you don't need a franchise quarterback. But if you want to build a franchise, a quarterback is the easiest way to do it, sustainable way. Yeah, I see you right there. On Twitter, we got a lot of people responding to our question.
We got Petty Pretty Flacco saying, the Browns out here breaking records without a quarterback, So of course you need a quarterback one play, But then check this out. I agree with Glenn Tansman because you know, I talked about ranking the defenses, and I talked about how Tom Brady gets lucky. You know, he gets Marcus Mariota in the Divisional round, this a year after getting Brock Oswiler. Now
he's gonna get Blake Bortles in the championship game. And if they go to the Super Bowl, they're gonna see Nick Foles or case keenum. But I like what Glenn Tansman has to say. He says, if one play goes differently in the Pittsburgh game or in the New Orleans game, New Orleans game, you're gonna have Big Ben in there. You're gonna have Drew Brees in there. And then we're
talking about the need for this franchise quarterback. Clayton Trey hand out there on Twitter, who always responds big shout out to Clayton, says team construction goes a long way. If you're built like the Vikings of Jaguars, you can rely on a game manager. Otherwise you need the elite quarterback. Michael Orpin on Twitter from the stats Overbeat Cipher saying franchise quarterbacks get you to the playoffs. Consistently. I think
that's the term that you're talking about. Also, Ventra, this idea of being consistent, to be a consistent contender year in and and year out, show me. I can only think of one, to be quite honest, Ventra, I can only think of one consistent contender over the last you know, decade that has been a contender without a franchise quarterback, and that is the Baltimore Ravens. Those are the own That's the only team I can think about that is like, year in and year out, always in the mix without
a franchise quarterback. Even the Denver Broncos, you know, went to the mountaintop when they had Peyton Manning. Otherwise, with just that defense, you know, it's hit or miss. I think the Ravens are the only team that really has consistently done it with a defense and not a franchise quarterback. And then venture obviously you as well say you don't need one in a single season. It can vary, like we see, we see what the Vikings are doing, what
the Jags are doing. If they want to be consistent, they need to solve their quarterback concern in the off season. And right now, if you look just straight up on the pole of you say yes, thirty six percent of you say no, you don't need a franchise quarterback. When we come back here on the Fantasy Freestyle on the Fantasy Sports Radio Network, what we're gonna do is we're gonna chop it up with Ventra a little bit more.
I'm gonna ask Ventra about my take on the concussion protocol and why it is a joke in the NFL during the playoffs. We'll see what Ventra has to say, and we'll see if there's anything else going on on the stats over beat Cipher from the YouTube chat. We'll see if people like Veentra's wrap over Cole Beasley and Leby on Bell, all that and more. When we come back, it's the Fantasy Freestyle, which your boy Dame Martinez speeds that spitting statistician, the stable genius right here on the
award winning Fantasy Sports Radio Network. How's it going in there? Five more minutes? Okay, let's play a game two True, it's one lie. We're not going to be late to the party. In the time you've taken to get ready, you could have been on your way to saving a life. And I'm wearing that tie. You here, We're not going to be late. We're ten minutes away. I have the most confidence in everybody's talking about cat scratch fever, the Jackson five and all that stuff. Not give me the Minnesota Vikings. And here's why. It comes in the familiarity with the system. And you have that more in
Minnesota than you do in Jacksonville. The cogs have been in place and it is all led by their head coach, Mike Zimmer, who knows his scheme, remember bringing it from Cincinnati. The Vikings defenses, the defense I have the most confidence in of the four remaining week days from seven to a p I Eastern Network, Welcome back to the Fantasy Freestyle.
Your boy speeds and spitting statistician holding you down. We had a poll question up before of you still think that you need a franchise quarterback in order to win in the playoffs. But you know three out of the four teams that are left in the playoffs do not have that franchise quarterback. And beat teams last weekend? Who did Vikings with Case Kingdom beating Drew Brees, Eagles with Nick Foles beating Matt Ryan, Jacksonville Jaguars beating Big Ben Roethlisberger.
So you know it's interesting, but the status of beat Cipher is basically saying that consistency is key and if you want to real run at it for years and years, you need that guy under center that you can trust. And I kind of agree, like going into next year, if you give me like five quarterbacks, I will tell you, you know the favorites to win the Super Bowl. Give me quarterbacks oversea defenses. As it were. We have Venture back, and we're not gonna venture again with us until maybe Friday.
A Venture on Friday will make a DFS lineup. And the other thing we'll do is we will get your picks for the a f C and NFC championship game. Because we have your picks. You are five and three so far on the playoffs, so am I? I am also five and three. But Venture, these kids, man, they went three and one last week. Goose went three in one. Her only mistake was the Titans. Tito went three and one. You don't think he got wrong was the Falcons. And then Michaela went three and one. Only thing she got
wrong was the Saints. She was a hail Mary away from being undefeated and four and oh, Venture, would you rather be five and three or three and one at this point in the playoffs? Because I think the kids are ahead of us. All. Yeah, I think I'd rather be three on one. But um, I think I don't think the kids really know who the steel like, what a Steeler is? I think that's right. They all went with the Jaguars because they know about the Cats. What
is a Steeler is a very good question. It's just gotta be someone from the Steel city that is Pittsburgh. I think he's onto something. But listen, they picked some kids pick the Titans because of Greek mythology. So I think the kids, to be quite honest, I think the kids are gonna attend and lean to an Eagle's Jaguars pick because they were all on the Eagles for America and the Bald Eagle, and they were all on the Cats. Gotta love the Cats. There's something about the Cats, definitely.
I'm telling you right now, I know MICHAELA is gonna be picking the Jaguars for sure. Um, So maybe that creates an opening for us if we want to go Pats and Vikings, which is you know, the two favorites. Well, yeah, I mean I gotta go. I'm gonna tell you right now this is this is the truth. I picked the Pats over the I mean the Vikings over the Pats for the Super Bowl before the season. So I gotta stick with that. We need to get that on tape.
We need to play that. I got that on Friday, if that, if that or next Monday, if that is what happens, If we do in fact have the Pats Vikings Super Bowl, we gotta play at much like I predicted the Houston Astros in baseball to be in the World Series, much like I predicted the Philadelphia Eagles to be in the NFC Championship Game. That's the beauty about being on air five days a week here seven to eight p m. Eastern Time on the Fantasy Freestyle. You could always go back and check the tape. UM. I
absolutely agree with that. The last thing I want to bring uh First of all, is there anything else that the status beat cipher is saying in the chat room that warrants UH consideration from your boys. Pez Ha spitting statistician with freestyle in here. And that's what we do now, venture because you know, a little bit less calls because of the football season is done, but the chat room is holding, so we want to bring them to the forefront.
And because it is the Fantasy Freestyle, they can hit me with anything that could bring any topic to me, and I will respond, is there anything we need to talk about real quick? Well, they were talking about the cold Beasley thing. And who do they like? They all like me, say easy v. They call me easy. You don't know. This is the same status over beat Cipher that doesn't like young cos my boys the effect, but they like you. I gotta tell you something, Venture, you did.
I but my boy young cause and the effect. I think they do it a little bit better. And uh, Colby definitely is one of the rappers out there in the NBA, one of the best athlete rappers. So I agree. I like what the stats overbeat Cipher is saying. Venture. I'm gonna see you on Friday. We'll talk about it. You have a DFS lineup. We will make your picks against the kids, and if it does turn out to be Pat's vikings, we will play your predictions for sure.
Here to make sure everybody knows that it was on tape tomorrow, talk a little bit more about MLB hot stove. I give you my confidence ranks of the offense. And Richard Sherman agrees with me when I say the concussion protocol is a joke in the NFL playoffs here That and a whole lot more on tomorrow's episode of the Fantasy Freestyle up next here on the Fantasy Sports Radio Net.
