You're listening to the Fantasy Sports Radio Network. Never Tech, didn't he? Now welcome your b your host Bye Gate from Mane Spun your co host by Die Rob Sat, Francis, Frank stand Ball Lady, tell me your best and with that we will get you inside Studio thirty four. This is the BFS. That is Frank Standfell. I am Greg Susman coming. Happy Friday to you, t G I F happy Keston. Here a day to you, Greg, thank you, happy to be here. Happy Brendan McKay weekend to you.

How about that It's gonna be a lot of fun raised calling on prospects now for all that, Yes, I just sleep last night. I slept great man. I played two kickball games watching the debate and then pass that. Oh gosh, all right, well you know I'm not gonna watch a debate, so um in thirty seconds or less, give me your spark notes. Yeah, spark notes. So night one of them to be. Elizabeth Warren kind of did her thing where she talked a lot of policy people

get excited. Last night was kind of more of the heavy hitters. Kamala Harris like ripped the heart out of poor Joe Biden. Uh, and that was really it, and that's what you were rooting for. Maybe not to do it to Joe Biden, but that's someone that you like. Yes, okay, yes, so let's good here. Yes. So so last night was way more entertaining than that one. Uh and it's fair to say, Greg, you know, I'm gonna switch gears here hears and mirrors um John Carlos Stanton. I criticized him

a lot, Greg, I'm getting injured all the time. I threw a dodgeball last night. I think I like, like trained my triestep or something. So there you go. I guess I'm in the same boat as Jihan Carlos Stanton. Greg, I can't even throw a dodgeball without you know, injury myself. You know what, you kind of deserve it it. Yeah, I guess so karma, huh, but you know what I'm I'm not, but you don't like importantly, it's a little more expected. I guess from me, you lost. I don't.

I don't know if we want to lost. You told me you lost. I think we lost. This dodgeball league that I played it immediately last night was the first time I played. They were very big on sportsmanship. So it's like, yeah, like wins it, losses don't really matter. But in my mind, I'm like, yeah, they do so, but I'm pretty sure we lost. Try and get better, Greg, that's all we could do one day at a time. I'm sorry, Waiver Wire weekend, Greg four rio. He's too

busy for us in San Francisco. Right, it's where he is. I don't know what he's doing in San Francisco, and he has like friends or family in town. He's going to Cancoon next week. He's like, yeah, I'm gonna be out the next two weeks, So I guess the week after that we'll get him on for some football. Maybe. I think that's that's kind of the plan. Yeah right, I mean next week, we're not gonna be here anyway. Right, Thursday, Friday, we're not here. Yeah. No, July four, no July five.

It's pretty good stuff. Pretty good stuff. Also side note, if you're a fan of stranger things, they're transforming Coney Island into a stranger things and things, and you're in New York and you're in New York July fifth through seventh, They're they're transforming Coney Island into a stranger things theme. So I'm probably gonna be there Friday night night looking forward to that. Season three released on July four, Graig, Yes, I'm sure you'll be the only one that is there

next Friday night. That's probably not true, correct, it's going to be beyond pact. Yeah, so I mean rightfully, So, I mean it sounds awesome. Enjoy, Enjoy, my friend. I will spend my JR life for that. Rob Sussman's I still haven't got my invite, by the way, probably lost in the mail somewhere. I must be lost in the mail, sorry, because the waiver wire. Sure the big news casting here is coming back. If he's out there, go get him. He's gonna play second base every day. Trevis Shaw's option

the miners. But you already know that. What you don't necessarily know, he's enough about Brendan McKay, Frank, Why don't you everybody know who this guy is, how badly you should want him, and how much you're gonna spend this weekend. Well, you might have to spend a large chunk of whatever you have left, because for me, at least, there's not a lot left. But um, if you were frugal throughout the course of the fantasy baseball season, you've been saving

up for some of these prospects. He is probably the top pitching prospect left that we're going to get throughout the season here, and rightfully so. Third rank prospect in the Tampa Bay Rays organization. A one point eight four e r A in thirty eight minor league appearances, pitching appearances thirty four starts in nineteen. He's six and oh with a one point two to e r A, greg a zero point eight zero whip eight strikeouts in sixties six and two thirds endings. Pitched between Double A and

Triple A Sports Fastball. He has a cutter and a curveball, which are above average offerings as well. He's a left handed pitcher. There's a lot of hype around this guy. Tampa Bay Rays have kind of, I'm not gonna say fallen off, but they haven't performed as well in June as they have an earlier months. So I think that they need a boost to their pitching staff and it's coming in Brendan McKay. If you want to pick him up, I'm gonna say it's probably gonna take fifteen tent in

your budget. Maybe on the UH on the more aggressive end of things, if you have that much money left. Again, in the leagues that I played in the fifteen teamers, I'm a hundred and fifty dollars or less in all three of them, and that wasn't a one thousand dollar budget, Greg, So I'm probably not gonna be able to bid as much as I need to to get Brendan McKay. But if you want him, I think you're gonna have to

be as aggressive as fat budget. So do you think that a lot of the hype is because he's a dual threat player both a pitcher and a hitter, or is he because he is that good of a prospect. I don't. He's not gonna contribute much as a hitter. I don't know if that that he's gonna hit at all.

Really like he is a two way prospect, and people have talked about that, and he was actually performing well, you know, in terms of hitting at triple ate this here forty nine at bats, really small sample size, but to sixty four hundred five one triple slash, a four

BP in forty nine at bats is pretty good. Four home runs, ten r B I's I think originally, Greg, yes, he was drafted as a hitting prospect but just took off as a picture and he's performed so well over the past couple of years that it's pitching upside has far outpaid his hitting upside. So now maybe he gets a few appearances as a designated hitter, But I I have not read any reports of what the Tampa Bay Rays plans are in terms of using him as a hitter and pitcher, but I know for sure that they're

gonna use him as a picture. He will debut tomorrow Saturday against the Texas Rangers. Yeah, Brendon McKay, I'm really really excited about because, uh, it's it feels like it's rare when the Rays call it prospects in the middle of the year and they give an opportunity to shine. But he's gonna have it. And he's not calls an opener. He's not gonna have an opener. He's been brought up because he's ready. Is there a chance, I know he talked about the fab what you're gonna spend and how

much you'd like to spend. Is there as he stays in the rotation? For example, Brandon McKay, is he up to stay I would imagine so great. I mean, look, they've been rolling out you know, two opener starts per week here. You know, we know they have Charlie Morton, Blake Snell has struggled mightily. They have Yanni Turinos, who has pitched much better recently as well. They have those three starting pitchers. I don't think that there's any one that I'm missing in terms of like on the I

l expected to return for this team. Brent honeywell, you know he got shut down with an injury as well. Um. You know there's a few other like fringe e prospects who are like on the men back from big injuries, like jose Dai Lyone, but you know, I haven't really heard much about him recently. I think that they actually need what Brendan McKay can offer to this team. But you know that it's a dangerous territory when it comes

to prospects. Greg Like, just because I say I think that Brendan McKay is gonna be up for the long haul, It's it's gonna come down to, you know, his performance obviously first and foremost. Um Tampa Bay Ray's plans, like do they wanna do they want to have him throw this many endings and stick in the rotation the rest of the season, or do they want to think more long term when it comes to Brendon McKay, Like, there are a lot of factors that go into this decision.

I think personally, like we normally stay with these prospects. I think, if he performs well and he helps the Tampa Bay Rays, you know, compete in the American League East for that American League East title or at least hold onto the top wild card spot, and I think that he will remain in the rotation. But you know, we would have said the same thing about Kess and Hira now we're talking about getting recalled, but he was

performing well and he still got sent down. So you know, there are a lot of like random baseball politics involved when it comes to these prospects. So I don't know that I could give you a definitive answer, but I think that they need his arm in that rotation right now. Yeah, And I think the biggest thing probably for me, why I think McKay is here to stay if he performs well.

Of course, it's Tyler Glashness setback, Like that's the that's the one thing where you could point out that, hey, they hope to get him back within the next month, and now that doesn't look like it's going to be the case. He's going to be out for It was like it was like a six week setback or something that I read. Yeah, I mean maybe August we're looking at.

Maybe he's he's a prize possession to And this is an organization that the Tailor Bay Rays are really smart in the way that they handle like the business side of things, because obviously they're a small market team. They're not gonna go out and sign a bunch of free agents. They need to make savvy trades, which obviously they've done. They get Tommy Fan, they get Austin Meadows, they get Tyler Glass now. But they need these guys to be healthy for the long term, so they can't really fool around.

I understand that they want to compete this year and for years to come, but Tyler Glass now is a huge, huge part of their future. And I think you're right about that, Greg. The fact that he's had this setback and maybe we don't see him until the end of July early August. If that that's probably why they're calling up Brendan McKay. So you know, look, this is probably gonna be like a month audition for him, and if he performs well, like once class now is ready to return,

maybe they just leave him in the rotations. That would be a great, like a great five man rotation. Charlie Morton, Blake's now Janni Turinos, Tyler Glass now Brendan McKay. That's so far down the line, right Like when I'm trying to figure out if Brendan McKay is gonna be up for the long don't don't worry about that. I mean, you pick him up anywhere, and these things play themselves out as we saw like with Cameron maybe and a Yankee and a roster crunch with eggies like these play

those that played Its about three. And I'm not worrying about Brendon McKay staying up in September at this point in any of his limit may shut him down by then. So that five men rotation that you just named for the Raise, I'm willing to bet we don't see that this year. You will not see that five men rotation this year. Not a chance in hell. Yeah, I mean, look I won't. I can't say I can't say so

with certainty that it's gonna happen. It will say on paper it sounds pretty damn because so we'll see maybe that's like the rotation of the future as well, and maybe next year we see that or there are a

lot of things that can happen. But I agree with you, Greg, I would want to be aggressive on him because again, I think he's probably the the top pitching prospect now that's left after Zack Gallant has been called up, and the fact that Alex Reyes has been a not great and be he's hurt, and Forest Whitley has not been good so far this year in the minors as well. Brendan McKay I believe, is that next pitching prospect that

that we're gonna see called up. I mean, we're gonna get Dylan Seas probably at some point with the White Sox, but Brendan McKay has more upsete. He's performed much better at Triple A this year than Dylan Seize has. Speaking prospects of the way and what you got not trying to take a dig. It's gonna be a dig. I know it's gonna sound Jared Kleinic and Justin Dunn, you know who they are. Were those the guys that the

Mets traded away. They were both participating in the serious ex m features tame this year for the Seattle Mariners, and that was part of the Edwin Diez and Robinson can trade. It was the Mets can't get out of their own way right now. I mean, when is enough enough? Craigs. I I feel bad. I feel bad at this point

for Mets fans. I mean, like this past week is just like a microcosm of like the past I don't know, decade, the past twenty years for the New York Mets, and like all the stuff going on in the locker room yesterday and yesterday God Fraser the biggest whole runnies hit of his career. That's what Mike Frances said Greg yesterday. It was bad. So they take the lead in the ninth, Edwin Dz comes in, he gives have a two run home run to Michael Franco to tie the game in

the bottom of the ninth. Later on in the ending, Jean sag hits a three run home run. Mind you, former teammates Jean Sigur and Edwin Diaz, Jerry de Potos just looking at both of these guys like, all right, traded him away, one guy hitting home run off the off the other and the Mexicana met man. That's I don't know what else I can say about it, dude, has nothing to do with the waiver wire. Pretty hot, Yeah, yeah, I mean pretty hot. You know. Shout out to Matt Modica.

He he mentioned Todd Fraser on Monday, and I think if he's still available in deeper leagues, I don't know that he's like twelve team worthy of adding, but and he's been pretty hot. Anything deeper than that, you need a corner infielder, you need, you need a you need a third baseman. In the month of June, he's hitting two sixty eight, seven home runs, twenty one RBIs. That's pretty good. I mean, that's got to be among one of the one of the best months for a third

basement in this season. Again, seven home runs, twenty one RBI, eight average p s. He's playing well. And you know who else I'll throw in That makes greg dom Smith absolutely if he's playing time was there every single day, He's worth than that. I think he's played four games in a row and they basically, look, we know the Mets don't care about defense, so they're basically putting out their best offensive lineup that they possibly can. And I saw this tweeted out by d J Short of Rhoda

World the other day. If you lower the qualification for hitters to and played appearances on the season, Dom Smith ranked six in baseball in ops. I mean, this is a wild stat. The guys betting three thirty six will a one thousand, twenty five ops on the season, seven home runs, thirteen RBIs Greg. In the month of June alone, he has five home runs. He's betting three oh nine. So if you just want to this is one of those where you kind of just trust the skills right

now and you trust the pedigree. He the top prospect for them, Greg. It didn't really get a fair shake. I mean really, I mean I felt like, I guess he kind of played every day last year. You know what, he was hurt, He was in his own way. There's a lot of drama, as there always is surrounding the Mats, and I felt like everybody you wanted him, they wanted him to start, and then they wanted him replaced by vite Alonso and it makes sense because you know, pretty good. Hum,

But why can't both of these guys be good? I mean Tom Smith plays in the outfield, and I mean, is is he much worse than anything else? They're thrown out there in left field? Whatever? JD. Davis, Jeff McNeil, who is telling us that yesternight Blake Blake Beeley yesterday? Right? Good point? Um? A couple other notes, and before we hit the break and go over some of the other Waiver Wire guys, well Man Schooner's back, Scoot Scooter sto just just in time to get traded? Is that what's

gonna happen here this year? Right? How is if he if he plays though up until the trade deadline, let's just say, for the next next month, how does he? How does he fit ins everything that's going on with Cincinnati right now? Though in terms of playing time? I understand the question. Thank you, you know I had to break it down for you. Uh, he probably does. Derek Tetrich just go away. I feel like he's cool. Go away. We could see Paraza move around, as we've already seen.

Scooters is gonna play because they want to trade him. So I think Scooter plays. I think so too. I don't I don't think he's really out there available, a lot of people probably stashing him. But it's worth noting he's been activated, probably gonna be in the line up tonight. So so your intention to scoot your alba has got hurt last night. That sucks. Yeah, they said it was precautionary. Let's hope he's all right. We'll see. We're way wire talk coming here way next, back with you here on

the BFFs. Frank standfill, Greg Sussman hanging out on a Friday edition of the program, Trying our best, Frank, That's all we can do. That's all we can do, Greg speaking, trying our best. We'rena play FanDuel night and we'ren try our best to beat the crab out of you, as we've tried many times. Greg. It's worth mentioning that again. If you have been in the Fan Duel BFF Contest two dollar entry, if you've been in it before, you're already and it just click on the friends tab on

the top. Make sure to set your lineup before seven pm Eastern time tonight. That's when the main slate will begin. And I've lowered the amount of people in the contest of fifteen so that we can hopefully get enough people into play for money. I'm gonna tell you this, Frank is not around tonight, right, so I'll be all right, are you are you? You're you're busy. I'm I'm filming a studio segment tonight, Craig. But it's really only like

ten or fifteen minutes. So what time is that you got probably be out by you have to be there at six, you're gonna be out. That's very quick. Yep, all efficiency, So hopefully your middle name. I'll try. I'll check my lineup before already set like a foe line up that I'm gonna update later on today. But I'm sure i'll make my lineup right after the show probably and then not look at it all right, So there's also a chance that you'll have players in your lineup. No,

not in a lineup now. I usually look at I usually check my lineup again at like sixty five, I see you guys are out, like, oh crap, and then I switch it out. So again, if I am, I have not been the problem. If you've been, if you've been part of the BFF Avanduel contests, just make sure

to set your lineup tonight. Again, if your lineup is if you're part of the contest but you haven't set your lineup by let's say four or five pm tonight, probably just gonna kick you out and find to join the contest because we would like this, want to run for money. So please set your lineups. You you picking at night? What? Who are you? Who are you picking? I can't tell you that, Greig. We are competitors, we're friends. If you're playing in a you know, in a different contests,

maybe i'd help you out. Are on a different day. It needs your help. I mean, best friends are supposed to you know. I hope each other nah break each other's you know balls? Yeah? Sure, also breaking balls, were also breaking hearts with our picks yesterday. Not so good, not great. Yeah, Spencer term got hurt. Not my fault. We're combined four and seven on the week, Greig. Oh. And also I learned a very valuable lesson um same way that you did in the Orioles and Rangers game

Ballpark in Arlington, Texas. Don't take the under in Rockies game. I tried to tell you that I wanted to. I wanted to figure it out. On my own, Greg, you wanted to be a massive, Yes, is what you wanted. You should see. I had faith in Walker. Dealer didn't work out. No, no, Frank. When I checked the box score late last night and I saw that the Dodgers alone went over eleven and a half, which was the game total, so they scored twelve runs and um, the

Rocky scored eight, so combine for twenty. Greg, I would say, not great at math, but that that was over a and a half. Sorry, Frank, Sorry, let's let's move. Want to talk about he's teenage walker Buellers and that is Chris Taylor. We've told you about him a lot. But he's still playing every day, still getting done, Frankie. Yeah, I just still see him available in a lot of twelve team leagues, and I just feel like that shouldn't

be a thing. He's performing really well. I feel like you picked him up as well, Greg, And he's been stealing a bunch of basses this week. And look in the month of June alone, the guy is batting over three hundred the past two months and maybe hit three hundred and with a nine of four ops. And in the month of June, Greg four home runs, nineteen ribbies, three stolen bases, three thirteen batting average, nine fifty ops for Chris Taylor, and it got off to a really

slow started hit one in the month of April. But this is really really cheap exposure to an awesome lineup in the Los Angeles Dodgers. He's playing every day at least until Chris Taylor is back. I will mention that this is potentially a short term acquisition because once, uh, once Corey Seeger is back, he might lose some every day at bats Chris Taylor, that is. But you know, for the time being, I feel like you should be owned in more leagues than he is. Greg, So yeah,

I agree. I picked up Chris Taylor in the pit League couple of days ago and feeling good about it, So that was a good selection. Also, I want to know, when it comes to the Dodgers raw stripling, probably well worth picking up if he's out there, Frank, is he gonna remain in the rotation? Why wouldn't he? Yeah? I just I always just I worry about the Dodgers starting pitchers, So I think, are they gonna let him go the full workload? Right? So I think that's a fair question.

I think you could see just him in urias Um piggyback off each other. I think that's possible. But I think Strippling is the guy right now. So he made his last start came a couple of days ago again Diamondbacks, and the only let him go three innings and then you asked for the next three. So maybe he's just building a barberstright. How many pitches he throughout? I threw sixty pitches? Okay, so's billing a barberstraight. Next time the be able to throw eighty pitches. I hope you're right. Look,

look it's at least worth a gamble. I agree with you on that. So you pick him up. I wouldn't drop anything of value. I guess that's what I'm getting at, because by the time he gets stretched out like something else is gonna happen, and it's like, is he gonna have his his spot in the rotation? And just feel like the Dodgers always fanagal things. It seems like, you know, rich Hill, and the diagnosis that we got yesterday from Virginia Zaka is that rich Hill is gonna be out

you know, for quite some time. He's got that so I see what you're saying when it comes to row stripling. But I just I always have my reservations when it comes to the Dodgers. I have the trip question to day. I'm excited about that. We'll get well, well, yeah, we'll lead off the next second. Um, I was just excited, I said, I saw it. Oh yeah, I forgot about this. I always been excited about it. You want to talk like Kevin Evan Newman? Are you kidding me? Well, how

about we get Steve on the line downstairs too. He loves Kevin Newman, and rightfully so, Greg. I mean, he's like Chris Taylor. Kevin Newman's just not owned in enough league. Like I said that, I said, it's like a month ago. I know. I mean, look, we're it seems like we're regurgitating things. We are, but people aren't listening enough. Exactly.

He's only owned nineteen percent of leagues and and now on the season, he's betting three thirty three with four homers, twenty seven RBIs and five stolen basis and he's leading off every day for the Pittsburgh Pirates. So what we said about him was he's like another one of these Jeff McNeil, David Fletcher types. It makes a lot of contact, doesn't strike out. He's gonna hit for good batting average, not gonna blow you away in terms of his power, but he actually has a little bit more speed than

some of those guys too. He has five stolen bases on the season, and he was a top ten ranked prospect for the Pittsburgh Pirates. It's just second base shortstop eligibility on yeahoo, I just once again, I'll just strow the name out there. You're playing a twelve team league. You lost Trevor Story. It's gonna keep throwing these names out there. Man. It's just not owned in enough leagues, ninetent it's just not enough. It's not enough because he's

been two good Sin's getting called back up. But we try explaining that a couple of weeks back. He needs to be owned. Certainly is a middle infield in both team leagu Absolutely, I agree. And that's why you know a lot of these names that we'll talk about. I mean, we'll get to some of the if you want to get into some of the deeper names that I have on here, Greg Well, I'll throw out JP Crawford, who you know not gonna hit for a lot of power, has a little bit of speed, but he's hitting for

a lot of batting average right now. And the way that the Seattle Mariners are structured, you know, I think

they have an eye on the future. I think that they're gonna let Jp Crawford play every single day twelve team leagues and I'm not really doing it there, but anything deeper, you need a middle infielder, a short stop in fifteen teamers and ale only David Crawford's playing every day's providing batting average, and he's probably gonna score runs, and you know, maybe from here on out he'll give you like six to eight homers, six to eight steals,

something like that. So I thought it was worth mentioning Greg. How about Corey Dickerson. It seems like there's a spot righterson to me. Yesterday Blanca went on the I L and Brian Reynolds is like a little bit banged up, and Corey Dickerson four for four game. You know what he's capable of when he when he's in the lineup, Greg, Yeah, he has certainly has power. That's real. I would not

be surprised for who he get traded though. I think Corey dick is always one of these guys that would help him to maybe because then he I mean, I assume he would go somewhere where he plays every day. He should be a d H somewhere, correct. I don't know that he'll find that playing time elsewhere. About how about bat Tampa Bay? They like him, you know, they traded him for what That was just a weird trade, wasn't it. Yeah? It was, didn't it? Just like DFM

or something, and we were all shocked. Everyone was touting him as a sleeper and then they cut him. I mean, he was performing well though. I feel like that was the weirdest thing the past couple of years. Coorey Dickerson gona sacrifice his power for batting average. He's actually hitting more for batting average. So since he's returned this month, he's patting three eight one. He only has one home run.

It's forty two at bats. He has eight doubles as well, So maybe if you're playing points leagues, he's a little bit better there. He's gonna hit some bubles, but he's really sacrificed some of the home run power in recent years to provide more batting average. So that's where we're

at with Corey Dickerson. Um, if he remains on the Pirates when everyone's healthy, there could be a potential log jam and the Pirates out field, I have a lot of talent there right now, Starli Marte once, Gregory Polanco's back, Brian Reynolds has performed well for them. Milky Cabrera has randomly performed well for them too. But I could see them trying to flip him at the trade deadline. So we'll see what happens. But but Corey Dickerson, you're playing

five outfit of the leagues. It's like anyone who has a pulse and is somewhat performing okay, is gonna be on your radar. And that's what Corey Dickerson is doing right now. Let me give you another name as well in deeper leagues. That's Garrett Hampson, who were all on coming into this season. He really struggled. Even when Daniel Murphy and David dhal Um and so many members and Ryan McMahon gets hurt for Colorado. He played every day

and he just didn't get enough hits. He got sent back down, he got passed in the pecking order by Brendan Rodgers. Well, we're at it again with Brendan Rodgers, hurt. Whichever's story hurt. Garrett Hampson is going in an opportunity to play at short stop with the Colorado Rockies every single day. Maybe it will be different this time. Maybe he can take what he learned on the farm and come up and help fantasy leagues. I think in deeper leagues it is absolutely worth a shot to go up

and pick out Garrett Hampson, I agree with you. And another shout out to Matt Modica who mentioned two names on Monday that have really stuck out to me. Todd Fraser, we already went over and he said he picked up a few shares of Garrett Hampson with the news that was going on with Trevor story, and yeah, it's really small sample size, but the past two games he has his multi hit games, and both of them he has you know, he had two hits. Last night, he had a run scored, he had a he had a triple.

And in the night before that he had two hits, he had two run scored, he had a double, and he had a stolen base. So all throughout the minor leagues, Garrett Hampson was someone who hit for batting average, and he has legitimate speed. He has like thirty forty stolen base upside, or at least that's what he did in the minor leagues. Makes a lot of contact. That's why it was so weird when he came up this year and he was striking out all over the place. These

things always they don't directly translate all the time. I realized that, you know, there could be guys that come up who were great contact hitters in the minors and it just can't handle major league pitching and they strike out a lot. But his track record says that he was a really good contact hitter in the miners, really good speed, and he's gonna have the opportunity, at least in the short term right now to play every day for the Colorado Rocky. So shout out to Modica. I

thought that was a really good job as well. Multi hit games back to back for Garrett Hampson. Greg absolutely another name you have listed here, and I'm really glad you wrote him because I've been trying to talk about him actually the last couple of days. That's Matt Beatye for the Dodgers, who's getting who's gotten some ample playing time as of late, and all he's done is hit. Over the past week, he has had some power. We have seen that to home runs here on the season.

In June, he's been playing a lot in the month of June. Do we think it continues at least in the short term. Again, that's the case that we've been talking about with a lot of these players, especially in deeper leagues. And you know something that we've talked about in the past is a lot of people ask us rest of Sea in questions, Greg r Os, who would you rather have this guy? This guy? And when it comes to at least in rodo leagues and looking head

to head league suit, I mean their weekly leagues. You want to you want to win your matchup you got you have to look at the season as a I need to win this week. And you know, if if Matt Beatie sticks around, then sure, that's fine. But I think at least if you go on a week to week basis. He's playing right now for the Dodgers again, extremely cheap exposure to a really good lineup, and in the month of June he's batting well over three batting average.

He has two home runs, he has six ribbies. You look at his minor league numbers, he was someone who makes a lot of contact, doesn't necessarily hit for a lot of power. But if he makes a lot of contact hitting in his Dodgers lineup, we'll probably have the opportunity to drive in some r b I s. If he's on base, you know, really good hitters behind him, gonna be able to score some runs. He can do some things. He's like a lower ranked prospect in the

Dodgers organization. He's already twenty six years old, so he doesn't have tremendous subside. He's not someone that we're expecting to take off and you know, like the world on fire, but you want to win week by week, and right now Matt Beatie is playing for the Dodgers, so I thought he was worth mentioning, especially in deeper leagues. Totally agree, and especially this weekended. You can pick him up. They're

in Colorado. They're in Colorado this weekend. Yeah, pick hi up. Yeah, pick him up right now, playing tonight the next couple of days, might be able to grab a few home runs. I know. I just said that he's not necessarily a big power hitter. But these balls, just the balls are flying out like crazy this year, and especially in corsefield. I mean, you just you can't dispute that, no doubt about it, no doubt about it. Anybody else that's worth

deep league pick ups? Anybody else you want to note Before we get over to this closure conversation, I'll just once again circle back to Jason Kittness. A lot of these names we mentioned lady this week. Um, it seems like there's a glut of middle infielders, from Kevin Newman to Chris Taylor to JP Crawford to Jason Kittness. But I've actually seen him floating around out there in a few fifteen team mixed leagues and he's hot right now.

So again, the Indians lineup is actually coming around with Marca, know who we talked about yesterday, Greg and Lindoor has been really good and dare I say over the past seven days, Zairamirez making a little bit of noise, so let's see if h let's see if that could stick. But the Indians lineup is playing really well. Um and Jason Kidness again, some cheap exposure there all right, before all of these set of men cost you a billion dollars of your fab on the waiver wire. You want

to do it early. We've kind of suggested this to you. We want to reiterate it again right now. Guys like Shane Green, Guys like Will Smith, Alex colom A, they very well could be traded within the next month. When they do, the members of your legal are going to flock to the waiver wire and first come, first serve, and on Sunday when your waivers go through. If it's not, they're going to spend way too much money on mediocre relievers. You look at guys like Shane Green, We're pretty comment

that Joehanmennaz is going to be the closer there. You look for the White Sox. If Alex Colons traded and Kelvin Herrera is not, kind of makes sense there. But the Giants, well, they don't really win all that much anyway, so it doesn't matter. But the point is Will Smith, Shane Green, Alice Colen. Even if Felipe Vascas we've heard rumors of him to the Dodgers this week, Kyle Krik seems like the guy that could step up for Pittsburgh. There there's a lot of options. You've gotta pay attention

and do it now if you have the roster space. Yeah, Greg, I think it's imperative right now to at least pay attention. And this is more so for deeper leagues. Again, if you play in twelve team roto, you want to have these guys on your radar. As we get closer to the deadline, you know, maybe just handcuff your players. You know, if you own a Felipe Vascas, pick up a Kyle Craig. Especially if Felippe A Vascas were to go to the Los Angeles Dodgers. He's not closing there, so that would

ask that would absolutely sink you. So you're gonna need some saves in his absence. So pay attention to these situations. Greg. I wrote about this on Patreon earlier this week. Ding to get a head start. I ranked these in order the relievers I believe who are most likely to be traded, and I ranked it Will Smith, Shane Green, Alex Colum A, Phelippe A Vasquez, and then I'll throw in Ken Giles

of the Toronto Blue Jays and Sergio Romo. Again, if these guys are traded, it doesn't necessarily mean that they're going to land in spots where they will be the closes. Well, they probably won't. For the for the probably will not. I think there are a few competitive teams that are gonna be in the market for closers, Greg, like Boston obviously stands out. They could be in the market for like a Vasquez or Ken Giles. I think that would

make a lot of sense. But you're right that some of these guys could land instead of situations, and you're gonna want to pick up those saves that are left behind moving forward. So with the Giants, I think I feel like the Giants are are probably one of the toughest situations to figure out, Greg, because if they trade away Will Smith and I'll ask you your opinion. Tony Watson, Sam Dyson and Mark Lanson. You have three guy so it's like, who are they gonna go to? Tony Watson

has been the best of the bunch off. He's the lefty I meant, so, I mean personally, I feel like it would be Tony Watson. How do you feel I agree it will be Tony Watson. I feel like we've seen this before. I I don't think they go back to Mark Ladson. I think that's some cost at that point. At this point, actually have no idea what's doing this. It's like he hasn't he hasn't done well. You know? Is that one of the worst reliever contracts in previous

years history history? What was it was like four or six years? Yeah, I mean it's ridiculous, and from year one it was disaster. I shalk about his aging. Ye got a lot of money there and he performed really well in the past but has not worked out with the Giants. Was a break. We'll give you the Jason start trim your question of the day, We'll go over some two star pitchers for next week, and we'll wrap things up. So this week here I'm on BFFs. His

day three now, still still walking. It's a really long walk. I guess it's a long walk. Maybe Monday we won't have it right. We're just the BFFs man. I mean, we don't rank very high on the pecking order any down. We don't paying attention to music. I don't even I never even care about music. I just want different means. Maybe we could have got like anything. It's Friday, Friday, so I'm like, right, or like the little pump a

little pop, you know, get us pumped up for the weekend. Greg, you know, you know, you know, yeah, we used to do that. I don't know back when we are on the radio. We've gotten souls. They are all right, we tried. That's all we can do. Well, what's what's what's your trivia question? Greg? It's not like with shriving questions, question of the week? It works? Are you ready? So almost on the almost all the answer? Oh boy, all right,

here we go. Mike Trout is three stolen bases away from joining the two hundred two hundred club doo hundred home runs, two hundred stolen bases, right, he needed two players already in the two hundred two hundred club who are currently on a big league roster. Two hundred home runs? Do you under steals? Ryan Ron's gonna be one, right, you have two hundred steals? Probably Ryan bros. The first thing that comes to mind makes a lot of sense.

I was thinking, I don't know, if I don't know, if he has the steels, they might not have the home runs either. It doesn't really have a lot of longevity. I was thinking, Carlos Gonzalez. What do you think about that? Greig are on a major league roster? Is he on the cups on their bench? Right? That was a name that came to my mind. I like that one, Gonzalez. I like that one. Well, these older guys that I'm

thinking of don't really steal basis. No pool holes. I mean pools used to like steal like ten nothing crazy gold sh never did enough. That's not that's not terrible. It's not a terrible guess. It probably doesn't have two hundred, probably not, probably like in the low one hundreds range. I like Ryan Run Carlos Gonzalez. If we want to

stick with that, just locking those two. You want more time to think about it, It's fine, that's fine, big yeah, yeah, Okay, here we go, and the answer are Ryan Braun is correct, Carlos Gonzalez is not. Cargo does not have enough stolen basis. So sorry, okay, well you know the other answer. I now know the other answer. Yes, hit me, do I tell you don't want to guess anymore. Caros Gonzalez, for

the record, has one two steels in his career. So sorry, I'll give you some players who are not right theyven'll help you. Andrew McCutcheon did not have enough stolen basis. Curtis Granderson not enough stolen basis. Poule gold Street that not enough stolen basis. Justin Upton does not have enough stolen basis. I don't know. Under Pence does not have enough stolen basis. That's a that's a good guess to Adam Jones does not have enough stolen basis. Jail Tubi

does not have enough home runs. Carlos Goldman does not have enough home runs. Right, Gardeners don't have enough home runs. I don't have anything. I don't have anything good. What we're looking for? Ian Kindler? Oh, that's that makes sense. We're looking for Ian Kingsley. I forgot about the old Kindler. Really, I guess does he play with the potterish? He does? But does he actually like play play? And I don't know. That's the question. Greg, we haven't really spoke about Kessing

here today. Is there anything much more to say about him? Let's go or hype that he's back? What do you want us to say? I put out a poll before the show, just asking people in a vacuum if both of these players are available who would you rather have this weekend? In fab it's actually really close seventy eight votes in Who is the Choices? It's Kessing here versus Brendan McKay Kessing here, it's I mean, it's it's really close, though it shouldn't be very close. I think it should.

It's the top hitting prospect who's recalled versus the top pitching prospect who just got called up. Oh, we've ever seen Brendon mcca in the majors before using here and already had major success in the majors. That's fair, But I mean everyone's looking for pitching though, no doubt, but like Brandy McKenney, more pitching now than hitting. Brenda McCay

could go back to the minors on Sunday. I mean we've seen that, We've seen the Brewers do it before here again, but this time they optioned Travis Shaw, like the guy that Keston Hero replaced. I would say it's Kessing. Hero's job is much more concrete. You're right about I much rather have Kesting here. It's Kesting here. I mean, I know people are people are people are excited about Brenda McKay man. Let me throw this out of you, Frankie, what do you you know? Desperate? We all over pitching.

We went over it throughout the week. Eleven of the top twenty starting pitchers did not bust, so nine busted. That's correct. If you have the first overall pick, and fantasy you take Mike shot you don't think about it, right? Yes, sir? What are you number two? Would you do this all again and just take Max Scherzer? No? Really, people are always years that yell and Bellinger having. It's just can you really forego that upside that well over three batting

average and that the combination of power and speed. I think once you get into pick four, yeah, you're in the discussion there for Max Scherzer. But I think as of right now, the way things are going, I think the top three for next year is cemented in some order. I don't know who's gonna be first and who's gonna be third. I mean, and Yellows might go first overall. I mean, we might see Mike Trout get get unseated as the first overall pick. It really might happen, like

the first time in a decade. Yeah, and it's you know, it wouldn't even be crazy. But I think as of right now, the top three picks for next year our Trout, Yellows, and Bellinger, and then once we get into that fourth pick, you have a bunch of people in that discussion. Max Scherz er like, I'm just thinking about it. I mean, like Tom's probably not in that category, but I'm just thinking about it again. Because Mike Keeber league that number one overall this year and Yelling was captain and Trout

was kept and Bellinger was kept. Actually, so the top hit her on the board was Mookie Bats. And last time I had first pick overall was a few years ago and I wound up taking Cleaning Kershaw at one that year, and I don't think I made the playoffs, but I didn't want to. I felt like I could find the hitting and pitching. We're always des for pitching, and I took Kershaw. This time I got one overall, and I didn't think about it again. I'm just like,

I'm taking Mookie Bats and hometown. Heller was like, I think you should take Suzer, And I'm pretty sure I brought that up to you as well when we were talking. You did because you probably consider because we were talking about your league and your dad had this option of trout versus Suzer, right, and in points leagues, pitching is prevalent. You need pitching and correct and he wound up taking trout, yes,

and I got sus at three. Right. I'm and I know it's this year with this how little pitching there is, but I'm just wondering yet again, and I'm doing it now. At the end of June. We shouldn't discount pitching anymore. As not that we in particular discount pitching. Is we like pitching, but like, just do it, man. But it's so tough to say, though, Greg, because so many guys like outside of Scherzer, who is going to be a lock every year until he's not. He's getting up there

in age. He has so many endings on that arm. I love Max Chers. I love watching him pitch the whole black eye Mad Max, two different colored eyes, phenomenal picture. I mean, the pitch makes is outstanding. He's going to be Max Scherzer. He's gonna be the Iron Man until he's not. I mean, the same thing happened to Clayton Kershaw. So look, I'm not rooting for it to happen. I want Max Scherzer to be the first pitture drafted for

years to come. But there's gonna be that one year where he's taking fifth six overall, Greg, and he lets a lot of people down. So it's just so hard to say you want to use your first round pick on pitching, because, as we just went over earlier in the week, nine of the top twenty starting pitchers have been busts, and a lot of those guys were drafted in the second round. To Greg, I mean Blake's now, it was wrapped in the second round, and what he's

giving you thus far has been a bust. Aaron Nola, who we thought, we at least felt, even if he didn't have the biggest upside, he had a safe floor coming into the year, Greg, I think that was fair to say about Aaronola. He hasn't had a safe floor. Now. It looked pretty good against the Mets yesterday, so hopefully you can build for the most part. I mean, a

lot of these early round pitchers haven't panned out. So I don't know that it's as easy as just saying you need to invest in pitching early on, because a lot of these guys let you down. To It's I don't want to go as far as say like it's a guessing game, but it's it's hard. It's hard to dodge bullets. Like the top five seem like they're they're pretty safe Ensureserd gram Sale, Verlander, Cole, and I know that that was like the a lot of people's top five.

So if that's the top five again going into next year, I can see like wanting to spend a mid to late first round on one of those guys. They seem pretty damn safe, right, But it's like, yeah, once you get into like the second third round, I don't know what's if it's as easy as just saying, hey, you need to invest in pitching in your second and third round picks because a lot of these guys haven't worked out.

We're in a weird climate of pitching right now, very much our speaking of pitching, who's in two star pitchers that you're looking at next week? I think the Padres guys stand out to me first and foremost. Greg I'll throw Logan Allen out there, uh and Matt Strom. I looked into the San Francisco Giants, not that you need to. You can just look down at their lineup and see

that it's not good. But they have the lowest team OPS against left handed pitching so far this year, and both of their two star weeks come against the Giants, which is awesome, and then the Dodgers, which is not awesome because in that same category team OPS the Digers ranked tenth, and we know that they are they are

very tough lineup. So I'm just hoping with both Logan Allen and mats Strom that what they do against the Giants is so good that even if they're just okay and don't completely get blown up against the Dodgers, they'll give you a successful to start a week. Greg. So those are probably two of the two of the top guys. You know. I threw Dylan Bundy, Chase Anderson, Tyler Mallley on the list. I don't really love any of those guys. Like the matchups are not great. Dylan Bundy at Tampa

Bay at Toronto, that's fine. Toronto is gonna strike out a lot, exactly, Like that's that's the issue. But I mean, if you want to look at it on the year, Toronto is a team that you have been able to stream against. They get they strike out a lot um and then with Tampa Bay, they've been cold in the month of June. So if you want to take a risk, I guess Dylan Bundy there, Like at least he's not in Camden Yards, which is like a really tough place to pitch, you know. I'm just I'm grasping at straws

here for Dylan Bundy. Greg, It's just there's not a lot of great to start pictures. Who are waiver wire additions for next week. It's Chase Anderson at Since and at Pittsburgh. He's not very good. Uh, Pittsburgh, you know, their offense has performed better lately as well. Tyler Malley has been up and down this year. I mean we were excited about him earlier on and then he went through a stretch where he pitched not so well. Um, and he faces the Brewers and Cleveland. The Brewers are

a little bit colder right now. Um. But but on the opposite end of the spectrum, the Indians are not. So it's not really a great to star week. I'll throw out a few single start streams that you can add for next week, Greig. That's Dakota Hudson at the San Francisco Giants. Dakota Hudson I think it's like smoking mirrors right now, Like the underlying numbers say that he's going to regress at some point, but it's not gonna happen against the Giants, especially in Oracle Parks. So I

like that. And then too to Atlanta Braves pitchers and Annibal Sanchez and Julio Tehran facing off against the Miami Marlins. Craig, Yeah, Anibal Animal Sanchez, um nationals your animals, Animal Sanchez. He was on the Atlanta Braves last year. He was staking animal Sanche. Of course, uh faces off against the Marlins next Thursday, on July four, which is tonight tonight as well against right, we'll see how Anaval Sanchez. I'm streaming him there, and it's a revenge game. Friendibal Santez, Greg,

let's go. It seems like every team Annibal Sanchez faces at this point probably gonna be a revenge game. My Miami Marlins are also revenged double revengeing animals. Ancere has been around a long time, he really has. He's pitching better lately. To man, yeah, totally. I picked him up this week because I wanted to stream against the Tigers. Like that's another the top three teams to stream against

other Tigers, the Giants and the Miami Marlins. We know that to be true at this point, so I picked him up for this week to face the Tigers, and I get the old double dip because next week I get the Marlins. Animal Santra is actually traded by the Red Sox, originally back in the day by the Red Sox and the Hanley Ramirez deal that brought the Marlins. Hanley Ramirez, Wow, traded Sanchez Hanley Ramirez. He's used Delgado, Harvey Garcia for Josh Beckett, Gianimal Mota and Mike Lowell.

I like the way you said that name, Greg Jim sanas Gania. I didn't say it all right. I'm next out the window, Sean Glostamakia. As you covered here on a Friday, Uh, it should be fun. Should be fun. As it continues touring around the a f C East, it's Shawn Glashtamakia out the window and they come your way next. For the final five minutes of the program, Let's do our best bets? Were ever fright? We're four and seven on a week. That's that's bad, not great,

not our best week. It's okay. Hopefully we turn it around. Let's make it get a nice little pictures dual tonight between Mike Saroka and Jacob deGrom. Could be let's make a let's make a three picks today so we can at least try to get back to five. Yeah, yeah, we're four and seven. All right, you start, Craig, I am not starting here. Starts how it works, Merrill Kelly against Well, let's let's gonna do this. Let's just kind of go down. Let's go down the matchups here. We

love against John means it's in Baltimore. Over under is nine down. Every matchup is what you're about to do. Admittedly, I don't really have my best bets ready, Greg, so I've just kind of given up on the best bets. There pretty much are worst bets. I guess here. I'll do it plus one sixteen the night I'll start us off plus one sixteen. The Rangers are in Taba lands Lands on the Mound. We discussed a lot how he's pitched better over under eight, so we spent a bit

of a pictures duel here. It's Joni Turinos versus lands Lend given the Rangers their underdogs to night in table. I like that. I'll think lands Let plus one sixteen. I really do like that, Sarka and the ground pitching matchup, Greg, it's going for it, man like it's a really low number, and I understand like most of the time, and you were right about this the other day with the Marlins, but those are like different pictures on the mound. You know, it was like it was Zac Gallen against I don't

know whoever was pitching for the Cardinals that day. Like it wasn't a great pitching matchup by any means, so that made sense. But the ground versus is the Gnats. It's Patrick Corman versus Zach Gallen. Was yeah, exactly, So it's like, al right, it wasn't like the greatest pitching matchup, like it was very obvious. I think the ground verse Sarrocca is a little bit better in terms of pitching match up here. I like the under here, and you know it's a low number, but I like the undergo.

I needed no brainer over too, all right, what he got. And at least it's Lisa Hernandez against Vine Malasquez, my man, Vinnie Alasquez. The over unders eight Ni Cloudy. We love this guy for dead. We literally undertaker in him. He's back. Yeah, the over unders eight like it did soccer bed Frank, the thing is Elicia or Hernan? Is that actually pitched pretty well? All right? Facing the Phillies though I know it's in my auntie, but it makes sense. It makes sense.

So those of the three were locking in. That's what I want to lock in Miami and the Philadelphia Phillies over eight, the Medicine Brads under seven and a half and the Rangers the underdogs. Lance Lane going up against Yanni Cherinos in Tampa Bay. St. Pete is this game in St. Peter and Montreal. Greg is in St. Petersburg. I don't say that around game Rancy. He'll rip whatever hair he has left out. He doesn't rip his chest hair out. Good Frank. We have about a minute to

go here in the program. What are you doing this weekend? What am I doing this weekend? Greg? That's a that's a good question. Oh, tomorrow is the celebration of my niece's second birthday. The other day was her official birthday. On Wednesday, we are going to my aunt's house out in Long Island. She has a huge pool. I'm crossing the fingers hoping that you know the rain that's in the forecast for tomorrow. Yeah, I mean that's what it says on the little Apple weather app you got you

have a little thunderstorm emoji there. It could be like a summer shower. So I'm hoping we don't get rained because supposed to be very hot tomorrow. Jump in the pool, celebrate my niece's second birthday. Um, should be a lot of good. What do you got going on? We're good, Tomorrow's sunny all that. What do you got this week? I got my I'm also to Long Island tomorrow, actually to my aunt's. Well, let's meet up. We going Franklin Square.

I'm going to East Northport. I couldn't tell you where this is if you drop me off there, I couldn't find my way home. Supposed to be high nineties. Never ending with this? What is this? This isn't our aunt's marching? Who were doing? Yeah? I Greg? Admittedly it is not like. If there's one thing you can't change on the show, it's the intro, it's the outro. What do you what do you got? Greg? H that's it, man, that's it. That's Frank Staffel. I'm Greg Susman. We'll be back on Monday.

There's down stairs. I can't promise it, I can't do it. I have a great week and everybody, let's see on Monday. We can't catch the live show, make sure of the download our podcast at the v n T s Y Sports Network Audio Boom channel oh
