You're listening to the Fantasy Sports Radio Network Fantasy Best Friends Forever, m Do Do Do Do Do Do Do Do Do Do Do Do Do Do Do Do Do. This is the Fantasy Best Friends Forever here on the Fantasy Sports Radio Network, alongside Frankie Stample. I am Gregg Sauceman, Fregge. What's going on in that much Greggy? Good night last night? Okay night. But if you sucked? Did you ever have the crazy milkshakes that they have there? I know Judy, Judy got one. Never had it? Why I split it
with her? You can't eat the one holding you can't. It's like, but you get a silver in your glass. The glass it's still in my apartment. It's still in my apartment. That was pretty much the highlight in my net. Yeah, I was Ter's real good though, he said, right, they're pretty good. I was in two thirty one, so I was closed. I was in the middle section, close to the left field foul pole. That's cool, pretty close, that's cool. Um, which flavor of the milkshake did you get when you went? Oh? Um?
So I was with our friends and the two girls got one. So one of them got the one I really liked, which was like all rainbow sprinkles, whatever. Every I don't want the marshmallow. Maybe is that what it was? Um? And Judy got. I think cookies and cream. One didn't have cookies and cream. I drink your milkshake. I drenk it up. Uh, this more the one and it was amazing. What are the like toasted marshmallows inside of it? Chocolate? There was like a candy cover pretzel. That was the
highlight of my night. Moving on to bigger news, Grey, how was your night and how was the kickball playoffs? I'm gonna be honest with you, Frankie. Oh, this was I've been on the team for this is three year? Three? Is is your three three years? Now? I think it's the best we've ever played the bat like. There's no runner against us, reached third base and a single runner in kickball reach third base against us. Wow. Yeah, we won six nothing. Yeah, you have Max shures around the mountain,
say or something. No, it's the same pictures always. She was great. She she did walk somebody, which is frustrating, but um, it was, it was, It was great. I love the game of a good bond. That made a good play on it. Um, they pegged me at it first because I was obviously gonna beat the beat the throw, so I had pegged out at first is frustrating. You don't have enough lateral quickness to dodge the Uh, yeah, you do know what you want, but I wanted to.
I thought he was actually gonna run to first base. I didn't expect him to peg me. He did it, which is fine. Um, and then set my my second time up. Um I lived down a gorgeous bund and and got there and scored a ground real double A couple of days later, won six nothing. Was it was gorgeous. We we we woned a half hour. It was amazing. The championship game is on Thursday. We are not on
our home field though, anymore. We're in Central Park rather than our home field at Riverside Park, which scares me a little bit. Um. But the good news is we're there. Right, We're in the championship. We have a shot. We're facing a team is undefeated this season. It should be fun. Is the team Salmon? Team seven lost an extra inning his last Oh my god, one of the crazy dude, this is actually incredible. So they start listen, listen on this goes. So we watched the end of that game.
They steam Salmon. Uh survived like a man on third, bottom of the last inning, and they survive it. They get out of it. Top of the next inning, extra innings. Uh, Team Salmon scores a run. Okay, next time up at the bottom of the inning, the Blue team they're called Uptown Funk. Uh, uptown Funk. They get a runner on nice ball in the gap. Now there's like a runner on it's first so sorry, long story short, it's a
man on third, one out right. The guy hits a single, two run second, one out, Sorry, we're run second in one out. A girl hits a basically a single to left, and this dude tries to get the ball back in quickly instead of just be like, all right, let me get it in. Obviously the runner from second is going to score on this. Let me just get it in and hold it in the first space and live another day. Punch the ball to try to get it in. Quicker just takes a kickball to punts. It goes like over
the fence. The runner now that should be on first basis on third with one out and scores on the sack Flatto in the game. Wow, And that's how Team Samon went down. I don't know your kickball fundamentally, that's what it is. It's all about the defense. If you just play perfect defense, you don't try to do too much. Like if I runner tries to take the extra base on you don't get beated into the throw. Just get it back to the picture, hold onto it and then
play your game. That's it. Just play your game, don't overthink it, and that's how you win. We're going for the title my second three years. On Thursday. Let's go, what time is your game Thursday? How long do your game's last? Normally not more than an hour? Not more than an hour coming? Would you? Would it make you too nervous if I showed up? Are you sure about that.
Of course, I feel like me being there, like your bunce might be off a little bit, my buns are gonna be the normal is like Judy has been there and I've I've succeeded. Yeah, but this is a little bit different than Judy. Alright, alright, let's clap it up your fiance, but she's not your best friend for yeah, you know, I don't know. I think I'm gonna make you a a little nervous if I went. It's interesting. So on Thursday, we don't have many people. We only have
ten or eleven. Do you want me to suit up? So we we've talked about that if we wanted to bring in people, but we didn't feel it was right in the championship game to bring players are on the team. We don't want to do that. So I'd probably be amazing. You think that, But people that think they're gonna be amazing usually pop up every time. It's kind of how
it works. The one kid who actually been last on our lineup this this game, um they popped up all year is because I'm just gonna bunt And we're like, yeah, I've been telling you that for for weeks. Dude, just bunt and he lays down this perfect bunt for his only I think it's only a bat. I want to say it was great. I feel like I'd be able to master like the pop right over, like the second baseman. But between it's hard, it's hard. I'd be great. I
might come support you all. Anyone else listening and watching, if you want to come support Gregive Thursday night, Central Parks definitely either be speaking speaking of support, one of our supporters was name draft last night and they thought they were drafting with Frankie stanfele uh and they were not. They were drafting with Frank Stafell. That was the miscommunication. Yeah,
they were drafting with Frank Stamford senior. So basically, my dad's sitting at his computer at home, and if he's wearing his Fantasy Football draft jersey, he has the s R on the end. Now, other you know one receiver who needs fields, the need to have SR on the back of the when you when you were a kid, f S three works three. Technically, I'm not the second because we don't have the same middle name, so I'm not that's a real thing. Will mean I'm technical. If
he's senior, that means you're junior. He got senior in the back of the jersey. That means you're junior. Yeah, I was just mocking the NFL grede. Okay, So my dad was in the draft and someone writes in the chat and he didn't answer my question, you have son, Frank, probably not, I don't know, probably not. Um. Someone just texting my dad, Hey, are you Frank from the BFS And he texts me right away like, oh, man, I was so proud. That's so nice. That probably warm with
your heart though, didn't it? Yeah, it was cool, But no, you were drafting my dad. So we're putting out a search out there for the man or woman who was drafting with the Don. We called my dad the Don Frank Standfell senior. If you were drafting with my dad last night, call in and let us know how he did, because honestly, he didn't send me his team, and I don't know how he did. Speaking of leagues and personally and whatnot. I made a trade last night, a trade
already my lead that hasn't started yet. It's not even the fourth week of the preseason, Gregg. You're making trades. My league hasn't started yet. Hit me. So remember I asked you yesterday. It was on the air, off the air, but I asked you, what do you like better Keenan Allen and cream Hunt or DeAndre Hopkins Dowmin Cook? And you said Gad Hopkins, Domin Cook. I stand by that. And I asked my Floria the same question. He said,
DeAndre Hopkins and Doalmin Cook. I didn't text you this and you had the Yankee, and I want to bother you. I texted Floria last night, what if I changed it to sa Kwon Barkley and Keenan Allen versus Dalvin Cook and DeAndre Hopkins? How would that change it? He said, I'd rather the Barkley side. Now, what would you say? This is half PPR, that's closer. I think I would take Barkley as well. So I made a trade to
go get se Kwon Barkley. I traded. I swapped. I should say my first, my second in my eighth round picks with seven seven, we guaranteed Sae Kwon Barkley. There no, I mean theoretically, asked, just given given them what we know about how the draft normally, how it's gonna go, right, is there a chance that someone takes a Kwan at five and then takes Camara at six and Antonio Round is there at seven. Yes, you kick yourself then no, I don't because at that point I would take cream Hunt.
I have a lot of shares Antonio Brown with you. It's one of those things where I want to diversify, but I have a lot of shares, Anzonia Brown. I would take Cremunt there and what are you to do? It's close, though, I like. I like that DeAndre Hopkins Dalvin Cook connection a lot. Corey was just coming up the stairs and he told me he had the Beat Fantasy Executive Draft. I'm sure you'll hear a lot about that on the Frenzy and he told me he started
DeAndre Hopkins Dalvin Cook. I think, because you know people are pushing up Christian McCaffrey, Dalvin Cook has fallen down a little bit if he'd start your team Hopkins Dalvin Cook. I love it, man, I love that start. I think it's phenomenal. You know. I I wanted that running back. I have no shares of cream Hunt and I love cream Hunt, so I really wanted that ideally. And then when they also came out like and I we agreed
on the one to eight swave. I thought it was too good to pass up because I do value Barkley more than I value DeAndre Hopkins and thinks you're like carry a ton of a ton of value? What pick did you originally have, Leven Levin? And who were you projecting to get there? Did that? DeAndre Hopkins? DeAndre Hopkins? Okay? But before that it was you were trying to get Kareem Hunt right right? So I try and trade with a person at eat so does it? Will it annoy
you at all? If at seven? Um, I wouldn't. I wouldn't say that, I think so there's a continuencay that I agree with my with the like the trade person um trade relations side. I agree that if the top six aren't as expected, that I'm willing to let him out of the deal on draft day, so trade back to a weapon, trade back Indian giver. If he has the right on that day to be like, I don't want it, only if those five guys, all those six
guys are in the first six whatever order. Obviously I gave him that option because like, listen, if he wants to do that and I'm out eleven with DeAndre Hopkins Dwalent Cook. I'm cool with it, so I gave I gave him that option. That was cool though. It was cool. Yeah. So anyway, if you're watching the BFA, you drafted with Frank's father let Us non f eight four three six eight seven nine eight four or four eight four three six sevenine. We're gonna get to you in just a
few moments. But we start out today with the fact and the stat to day. Yeah. So something that we're gonna be talking about today is the biggest adp risers and followers. And we spoke about Christian McCaffrey a little bit yesterday and this isn't my stat of the day. I've actually stolen the stat of the day. We're gonna give him all the credit that he certainly deserves. It's Graham Barfield following on Twitter at Graham Barfield. That's b
A R F I E. L. D Um. He puts out great Fantasy football stats in the preseason throughout the season, so shout out to him. It's just a final count of Panthers first team RB snaps with Cam Newton. Through the first three preseason games, Christian McCaffrey has played fifty nine of sixty six of those, that's eight nine, whereas C. J. Anderson has played seven of sixty six, just eleven percent.
McCaffrey played every inside ten red zone snap two. He is officially a work Corse interested tweet from cram Marfa, why did you invite Graham on the show? I can reach out to him. I certainly will. I'll send him an email and see if we get him on later on the week on the program today? Do you want me to comment with that? Uh? No, I mean, look, we spoke about who is this year is Todd Gurley like a month ago, and you were the first one on this Greg really before you even saw anything from
the preseason. You said, look, Christian McCaffrey is my guy. They drafted him super early last year, North Turner coming in. I trust that he's gonna be a work course. I wasn't buying in as much a month ago, but after what you see in the preseason, it's not one of these things where you just take it with a grain of salt, right. You literally have to take what's happening here in the preseason and you have to adjust to it.
And that's what people are doing pushing Christian McCaffrey into that you know that swing pick in the first and second round, you know at that eleven twelve turn, Christian McCaffrey. According NFFC, a DP is consistently going ahead of Cook. Now, yeah, consistently going ahead. And we've also seen not only is Christian McCaffrey risen obviously a DP riser, but I've seen Leonard Fournette start rising as well. And four Nette was the guy gumming in the draft season when Florida was
actually still here. I said to Florida, I want to wind up with four and everywhere and people on YouTube chatter are talking about Lenny right now. Um, I was gonna wind up with four net every year everywhere. Excuse me because this dude. The offense is built around him, and he lost some weight and that's not going to change. Their offensive line has gotten better. So I love Leonard
Fournette this year. And now it seems people are seeing what I'm seeing that Leonard four Nette is rising up draftwards. He is really passed out and Cook. He has remained ahead of Christian McCaffrey and almost almost all leagues. People are very solid drafting him in my league hometown, Heller, a Jaguars fan, has told everybody, listen to the eighth pick. I'm draft Leny Fournette. Like I'd like the trade down, but you know what, I'm gonna stay in my spot.
I want for net. Yeah, especially if you're a Jaguars fan, to like, go ahead and get your guy. And it's not a bad pick up. That fine either at the end of the first round. Look, I think people, again similar to CMC, are seeing what's happening here with Leonard Fournet in the preseason. I mean back to back games with a touchdown here. He ran for five point seven yards per carry in Week three, God bless you, Greggy. And he has five receptions in the past two games.
And this is something they've talked about in Jacksonville, is the fact that he is going to be a three down player and is going to be more involved in the passing game. I don't really buy in on, you know, t J Yelden stealing much from him. The only way that that happens is if Leonard Fournet gets banged up at some point, which is certainly a risk. So that's
why I haven't moved him up. I'm standing pat where I have been the entire preseason, the entire training camp, Greg is that I have Dalvin Cook still ahead of Leonard for it, just because I'm worried about that foot injury. But come the end of the year, would it surprise me if he's forty two fifty receptions this year and you know, scores double digit touchdowns. No, it wouldn't surprise me one bit. Yeah, I don't think I almost expected in a way. To be honest with you, I love
Leonard Ford at this year. UM don't have him either, and I don't expect to get him. I actually won't get on that. I'm not gonna do that. But take him from home. So the first Sunday, what do you think he would do if you stole Leonard for Nett right from under him. So the first Sunday of the NFL season, the Giants obviously play the Jaguars. We have tickets to go to, we have tea to go to that game together, and that's happening, and I have Quon
theoretically and he has letters for that theoretically. Because of that, you emanate to work that Sunday, I'm telling you right now on the air. So you can't get out of it. Um wait, wait, alright, we'll talk because, uh, what's Yang doing that day? He still be here? Uh? Can we get Michael Floorio back in Sunday morning? You can? You can. You can see him across the country. There you go, there you go. Um yeah, so I have taken That
should be fun and it is fun. Like I know you want to take your heart out of it, but it is fun in the first round when you're in that right spot to take your guy from your team's and that picks seven, I have no problem taking take one day. Yeah, was gonna break. Want to come back more risers? Certainly some guys that are falling as well. Who's rising? Who's falling? With those phone lines jam packed and for getting to those rises and followers, O b J got paid. None
of this is a surprise. Actually, how this all ended up um simply because he was going to get paid. He was going to become the highest wide receiver in his paid wide receiver in the history of the NFL. And it happened. And I give credits Odell where he showed up all year, like a lot of people hold out the situation Khalil, Aaron Donald, the contemporaries of Odell holding out for the same thing. And O'Dell showed up and those two guys are still holding out because they
didn't get paid. Odell showed up practice all spring and all summer and got paid. I keep him credit for that and it worked out. Do you think it almost helps your cause more when you come in and you just feel like a goody two shoes, you do what's asked of you. You know you don't cause this big russ because we know Odell Beckham, he has the big personality. We've you know, we've it's almost affected his fantasy play at times, because you know you worry about those things.
But do you think the fact that he just came in here and like, did his job help the cost? Do I think so? I think every situation is obviously different, right, And I understand what players need to sit out because that's the only leverage they have, right, Like they don't show up, they maybe their team will realize we gotta pay you. And that's the point of sitting out games, right, Like the Raiders get attacked across the middle over the first week or two of the season, they're like, we
gotta get clear in here, and that's leverage. I get that. For O'Dell, as you mentioned, there is a big difference like being there, not doing stuff on Instagram or Snapchat or being around on TMZ, just going to work and doing your job. And it's clear from the videos we saw yesterday's teammates absolutely love him quietly going about his business even though he didn't and it seems like him and the Giants came to an agreement that he wouldn't
play a game during the preseason. I give him credit, and obviously going into the year he had that um that video that came out and some scuffle and some some information, but of the last few months his agent work with the Giants, and for him it was the right thing and it made sense and we've got to work. After both sets, I think we dropped the ball here. We probably should have made today's poll now that Odell Beckham got paid, what is the first crazy thing that
he does besides obviously dance in the locker room. But I mean, would it be outside the realm of possibility that now that he got paid, he just, I don't know, does something stupid because we've seen it before, of course, not that's the first thing he does, Greg, I don't know. I don't know, um because he you know, trying to punch a kicker's net or what's what's He's just passionate, man,
He's just passionate. I appreciate the passion because look, my favorite wide receiver is growing up, Oto Sinko, Terrell always des Brian. I mean, there's guys that are all like hot heads and they want the ball at all time. So I appreciate the passion. But sometimes it's gone a little bit too far with it. But we'll see what happens. I mean for fantasy purposes. Look, I think he's being a little bit devalued. You're seeing him going at the swing pick, you know, at the first and second round.
Certain I don't really understand why. Yeah, you know, ultimately, ultimately, Odell Beckham Jr. Cant has the ability to finishes the number one overwall, overall wide receiver, if not player other than quarterback. Right, I think he finishes the number one player. He has that aby to get him potentially with to one to two. It's prettydamn cool. That's why I personally, I like that back into the draft, the way that
I've seen everything kind of unraveled this year. I like that back into the draft way more than like it's six through eight. You know, I just traded. I just I just traded for seven. I'm sorry, it's fine, and I mean to get one of Odell Beckham or DeAndre Howkins, impair them with a workhorse running back. The problem the problem. The problem is the workhorse running back. Like you have to be comfortable with Dalvin cook and or Christian or
Christian McCaffrey as that workhorse running back. If you're comfortable with that, all good. Everybody else is now off the table. But that's what that's what's happened. So theoretically, when you were at eleven, when a guy like DeAndre Hopkins was going six to eight, or when Odell Beckham or Julio Jones was potentially in there, it was really really good.
But now it's not so much because in every draft we have been in together, we've seen all the running backs just pile up, and I was afraid of that happening again to me and getting snu stuck with the DeAndre Hopkins Downland Cook because it's very good, but I don't know, I'm scared off by Dowland Cook for some reason. He's a faller. He's clearly a faller. Yeah, he's following a little bit. That's just the result of CMC rising. You know, if someone's rising, someone's gotta fall a little bit.
And that's that's where Dalvin Cook comes in. Yeah. Um. The next faller I want to mention is the guy that you have not liked throughout this process. You drafted him once, we haven't really liked him, and that's Jerick McKinnon. In the draft that we were in on Sunday, Frank jerck McKinnon. McKinnon fell all the way to four eleven, where you snapped him up and I was gonna grab
him one pick later. Now, McKinnon. McKinnon is somebody we were seeing going in the second round consistently, sometimes early second round. Why is the injury the reason he has fallen? Yeah? I think so. I think you know this scene bringing in Alfred Morris. Um really rotating running backs throughout the preseason, getting looks at Alfred Morris, Jeremy McNichols, even Joe Williams, Matt Brita who was banged up as well. Um, But I think you have the injury factors into it. He
was consistently going in the second round. Now we see his NFFC ADP in this past weekend of draft, so really the most recent ADP that we have, he's going at pick twenty eight, so more consistently in the early to mid third round. And as you mentioned, I got him on Sunday in the Carton and Friends Draft at pick forty seven. Everyone who listens and watches knows I
don't like Jack McKinnon. But in a full point PPR, to get him at pick forty seven as your RB to and pair him with Levian Bell, I'll do that every time because I still think he has the ability to catch sixty plus passes this year. I just worry about his efficiency overall. Will he hold up for the entirety of the season. Um, But still, if you're gonna get sixty seventy receptions out of a running back at
the end of the fourth round. I'll take that every time, but should I do I appreciate the fact that he's following a little bit because this is closer to where he should have been the entire time. In my opinion, should Alfred Morris be drafted? I think it's kind of hard to figure out who the backup forty is running back is at this point right because we haven't seen much of Matt Breedo. We don't know how healthy he
is going to be. If I had to choose one of them, I still think it is Matt Breed, uh, but you know, if he isn't healthy, I mean he has a smaller running back as well, similar to Jack McKinnon. Um, I think it's I think it's between Brita and Alfred Morris. But you know, as we get more reports, if it comes out that Brida isn't healthy heading into week one or early on in the season, then yes, Alfred Moore should be on rosters. In my opinion, it's interesting we've
talked about a follower. Well, well, I'm not gonna go back into Jamal Williams because we don't We talked about him a lot on the show, but I saw the run a World report about you know, how hig met Mike McCarthy is on him, and I love wrote a world. Everybody knows that that report is very old, Like we read that, you and I read that tweet on the air, and that tweets literally a week or two old. That the reporter then filed ESPN and made a blog about it.
That's fine, but that that's not new information. It's the same quote we heard literally a week or two again. So why is it coming out again now? I think because the writer who tweeted it probably probably wrote an article about it. Maybe, okay, yeah, but it is an old report. But I just I just threw it there because it's something that people are talking about. And look to Ball Williams versus Aaron Jones. I've I've been on the record. I'm going to take a shot on the Packers.
It wasnt We don't get any get into it every day. That's fine. Look, and that's if you can grab him in the six and Aaron Jones and I I think if you draft him, you absolutely have to draft Aaron Jones as well. Yeah, I agree, I did not get him in the league. I'm actually talking trade with the owner of that hasn't right now as you should. I you know, I just just insurance. Man. I think he's
the more talented player of the two, honestly. But yeah, yeah, a lot a lot of people believe that I want to offer him THEO ride for see if he says I appreciate that, I appreciate that. Um alright, well, um let me get to do another riser, another riser, because they did a couple of followers here, and I want to get into two particular situations because I think they're very similar, and that's Seattle and Tampa Bay. In Tampa Bay,
Ronald Jones has now all on to pick one oh two. Frank, you were the really high guy on Ronald Jones about a month ago before. He has stunk up the joint in the preseason. Like you loved Ronald Jones, but he hasn't done anything well. Because of that, Peyton Barber has now risen all the way to ninety two. If you had the draft one Tama Bay running back, who would it be? I it depends on your situation, your roster.
It really does come on because look, Peyton Barber is going to be the guy early on in the season, but I don't think he's going to hold onto the job for the entirety of the season. I think at some point Ronald Jones is going to have a role. But based on everything we've seen in the preseason, Ronald Jones is not ready yet. He just isn't. He's he's he's stunk it up on past protection. He hasn't done
great as a receiver. Mind you, he did have that you know, thirty plus yard reception this past week, but he's not hitting the holes once he is getting the ball on handoffs, he looks a little tentative. He looks a little bit nervous. Um. So, I just don't think he's ready to be an NFL running back. And that
changed by week six, seven eight, It certainly could. Um. So, you know, the more he gets into the game like he's not not going to have a role, they use a second round pick on him, so he'll have he'll get you know, six to ten touches per game, maybe to start the year. But look, Peyton Barber, I think it makes sense to pair him with a guy like Mark Ingram. I think that makes sense because Ingram the four game suspension, and I think early on in the year,
Peyton Barber is their guy. So if I have to choose one, I still will take a lean Peyton Barber. But I think it's situationally dependent. If you have running backs that you trust early on in the season and you want to kind of take a stash guy that you think can help you later, uh, you know, in the second half of the year, then Ronald Jones is your guy. If you need help early on, if you draft mark Ingram, I think Peyton Barber is the guy. And that's how I would assess the situation. Okay, so
there you go. If you need a guy right now to fill in to start, Payton Barber is the guy. If you have the ability just long term it, Ronald Jones could be your guy obviously, And and that's not saying anything that is out of left field, but the reason that i leaned towards Ronald Jones and I'm interested in these running backs, like the rookie running backs are falling, including rashand Penny who will get to you in a moment.
I have Alvi Camara flashbacks, and Albercamaro is somebody who started third on that depth chart in New Orleans behind Adrian Peterson. And behind mark Ingram and I drafted him in the league. After a week two I dropped him because he wasn't doing anything, And of course Alvin Camaro
became Alvin Camara. And I think that with Royce Freeman, with Rashad Penny, and with Ronald Jones, there is potential for one of these guys to go off, whether it's due to injury to Chris Carson or an injury to Peyton Barber, or an injury or an effectiveness Debonta DeVante Booker. I think the reason why I want some of these guys and I want take these shots later on a Calvin Ridley or Michael Gallup on a court and Sutton, because I think there is potential for one so one
of these guys to break out. There is that potential to not just like he's suitable, like really break out. Is that too much PTSD with Alvin Kamara or am I doing the right thing? I think it's tough. I think it's a lesson to be learned that you want to preach patients when you have these young players that
we know are talented. Right, So, like the thing is, if you get off to a slow start in fantasy and you have to cut these players on your bench who are not helping you right now, That's where you have to start to make tough de susans like, yeah, you want to hold onto Ronald Jones. Yeah, you want
to hold on to Calvin Ridley. But what if you know the first couple of weeks they aren't factors and you get you start off O. N two and you you know you need to pick up wide receivers or running backs that are you know, popping off on the waiver wire, and you need to take that shot. How patient can you afford to be waiting on the talent of these guys again, Ronald Jones is struggling now. Everything I said about him early on in the draft season that I liked about him still holds true. He was
a very talent to player in college. Um, he has explosiveness. He is one of the fastest running backs at the combine. They compared him to Jamal Charles coming out. Obviously we know he isn't the receiver that Jamal Charles is. There's
still a lot to like about Ronald Jones. And I think you take a few shots on your bench or these stash guys, but your entire bench can't just be the guys like you need, especially early on if you have injuries or if you have under performance and you're starting lineup, you have to have some guys that you can go to on your bench. So, yeah, you take one too, maybe three shots on your bench with these
upside stash plays. But I'm telling you, come week three, if Ronald Jones hasn't done anything, you might end up doing what you did last year when you cut Alvin Kamara with Ronald Jones this season and then maybe come you know, week eight or later, you end up regretting that decision. Yeah, I think it's fair. I think it's completely, completely, completely fair what you're saying, that you can take a few shots, but not all shots when it comes to
Chris Carson and Rashan Penny. Penny also falling, Chris Carson not rising as much as I thought he would. Hell come, I think people just don't really buy it. I think they see Rashad Penny drafted in the first round, and I think it's evident now that the Seahawks don't really know what they're doing. Given all the holes that they have on this team, they went out and drafted a running back in the first round of the NFL Draft in Rashad Penny, and now you're not even going to
give that guy the opportunity for an early season role. Yes, he has the finger injury, so he you know, you want him to be healthy before he starts carrying the ball so he doesn't fumble and have these issues. But he's struggle in past protection. We've heard that a million times with rookie running backs before, and by all accounts, every single Seahawks beat reporter that we've heard from says that Chris Carson is just dominating. He's dominating first team reps.
He's doing everything he's supposed to. He's he's performing well in past protection. UM, he's looked well. He scored a touchdown this past week as well. So by all accounts, what we've heard is Chris Carson is the guy. UM. But I just think people aren't buying it because the draft capital that the Seahawks used on Rashad Penny. I think now it's easier too, if you want to draft both of those guys, pull it off, because you can get a Parson in round eight Rashad Penny in round nine.
But do you really want to invest too draft picks in the Seahawks backfield. Probably not, probably not, probably not. I'd rather to do to the Jamal Williams Aaron Jones thing like that's but like will then would I have to give up more? You have to give up like your six? Right? But Corey was saying yesterday, I think on the frenzy, like, do you want to invest in
the Green Bay running back? That makes sense? I don't know I do because even Eddie Lacey, who is now out of the league, was a fantasy viable running back. He was a top five pick two years in a row with the Green Bay Packers. You don't need to be a great running back by any means to be fantasy viable. In the Packers backfield. It's just as potent as that offense is. They're going to be in the
red zone a lot. They're gonna have plenty of scoring opportunities for touchdown, you know, for touchdowns for their running backs. And I like drafting both of those guys because you know, if Jamal Williams get off to a slow start, then they give Aaron Jones the opportunity. Again, I'll continue see it. I think Aaron Jones is the more talented guy. But again, if you draft one, you have to draft the other first. Yeah, I think I think it makes too much sense. Obviously,
not too We're gonna hit the break. I want to take your calls obviously when we come back and eat four four eight, four, three, six, eight seven nine, we the people will also talk about the rising and falling wide receivers, including guys uh like a Michael Crabtree um who Frank and I feel differently about. Um, Like Chris Godwin, who I think it's really really interesting, who I hadn't
thought about. Kenny Golladay as well. Cooper caught Manny Sanders, a whole lot more stick around, more coming your way, the fantasy bests forever. We're after this like a great pass rusher. But Frank, before we do on this Michael Crabtree thing. So Michael Crabtree is currently going off the board very early in the fifth
round or to have a six round? Yeah, five six turns. Maybe I have PTSD when it comes to Michael Crabtree as well, not catching a ball in that last game in the playoffs and being suspended for a game and thrown out of a game. Maybe all that. I love Michael Crabtree last year, but I also don't normally ever like the Baltimore offense. I just never want pieces. You're an Oux Collins guy, and you pushed the other on Saturday. First the draft Michel Crabtree because you thought the value
was there, not in the six round. It was a little bit later on than that. Um what I wanted Robert Woods in the seventh You're like, we screwed up by not taking Michael Crabtree here. We would have taken him if he came back in the eighth. He ultimately did not. What say you this year about Michael Crabtree.
I don't really understand why he's getting pushed up draft boards now he's going on that five six turn, whereas earlier on in the draft season a couple of weeks ago, he was going more so in that six seven turn. I think we were seeing him there consistently in the sixth round. But I don't know why he's moving closer to the fifth round. I haven't really seen anything in the preseason. He has only two catches, and we've seen John Brown uh take off a little bit here as well.
He's rising up draft boards as well, but he's just a deeper flyer, especially in best ball formats in my opinion. But I don't really understand the Michael Crabt you love. If people wanted to paint the picture that he's the Steve Smith of this offense or the ankle On Bolden of this offense years past, I guess there's a chance that happened. Maybe it's the Hayde and Hurst injury. They have to throw the ball to somebody. But I think this team is more of the same that we've seen
out of the Ravens. A lot of running the ball. They'll take a few deep shots, They'll they'll probably throw the ball a ton to their running backs. I think buck Allen uh sleeper PPR running back at fifty plus receptions again last year. Just this offense isn't the passing offense doesn't overly excite me. I don't really understand why Michael crabs she's moving closer to the fifth round range
right now. Greg, Yeah, I don't get it either. This office is even if Joe Flacco is better as people expect, I'm not doing the micrograb. I think he's formidable as a wide receiver three. He's viable. But you know we took Robert Woods. I think he's in that range. I think he's a solid wide receiver three, maybe a low end wide receiver three. Um, but I'm not I'm not pushing him up closer to the fifth round. You know, the guy who's actually rising that's right behind him is
Emmanuel Sanders going at pick sixty two. If I had to choose one of those two guys right now, I would actually take Emmanuel Sanders. Okay, Emmanuel Sanders personally for me, and we just saw him go in the fifth round in the GFC draft over the weekend. It's funny because Damarius is dropping a little bit. I think there's a chance that when it's all said and done, Emmanuel Sanders and Demarus Thomas are gonna end up going pretty close
to each other here. I know, I saw a few reports that in the third preseason game, obviously Emmanuel Sanders had a very good game. Um he was working more so in the slot. And we know that he's keenom
likes throwing the ball to the slot. And that was my case for Damarius Thomas a week ago when we were talking about him, is that we had reports early on in training camp that they were working to Marry Thomas in that slot, and I thought he would take on maybe that Larry Fitzgerald role that he's done what he's done with the Cardinals. Maybe we see to Marry Thomas who that with the Broncos this year. You know, now that he's getting up there in age, you don't
have to work on on the outside his mouth. You put you pull him inside and you work him there. We saw a lot of Emmanuel Sanders in the slot in that third preseason game. So if he's the guy, I think he's more dynamic at this age in his career then to Marius Thomas. So I understand why one is falling down and the other is actually rising and then Chris when before we hit the break and Godwin is somebody. We saw Adam Rohna's take in the ninth round of the g S T and I always pay
attention to what Rhonas does. He's obviously a great player. He's like, he's awesome, right, he think in the ninth round, and I remember, I don't know if I looked at you or just didn't in my head, but I was like, this just seems early to me, and Rodas immediately responded to like, listen, I know it's early, but I wanted to make sure I got him. That's fine. You can always go out and get your guy. We say that every day. But why is he taking Chris Godwin in
the ninth round? Well? What am I missing there? Again? This is a preseason riser and I could see it here because look, I do. We have a lot of faith in the Buccaneers defense. They could be in a lot of shootouts this year. Chris Godwin, I think, overall, is a more talented player at this point in his career than DeShawn Jackson all around wise, yes, DeShawn Jackson can fill his role in the offense. They're gonna take a few deep shots per game. He'll get his targets.
And they paid to Shawn Jackson. In hindsight, they probably regret doing that seeing what they have in Chris Godwin. He flashed a little bit towards the end of last season. Part of the reason that Mike Evans was a letdown last year. So, um, there's a lot of mounts to
feed in this offense. I think that's the reason why I can't pull him up that high into the ninth round because Jamis fits like throwing at the tight end, um so, and Mike Evans is gonna get his So really, how many targets are there to go around for Chris Godwin. But I will say, if anything, if an injury happens, I could see Chris Godwin easily, you know, being like a top twenty wide receiver if something were to happen to Evans. But I'm not going to draft him banking
on that happening exactly. I don't. I don't think you can. And maybe Evans does, maybe Evans does get hurt. Ultimately, maybe Godwin does become the strong second wide receiver. But there's a lot of pieces in this offense. Is Sean Jackson has his role. Mike Evans is the alpha, no doubt about it. You draft O. J. Howard, you draft, you have camera, you resigned Cameron Braid. I'm not banking
on it is I'm not banking on it. And when you talk about Chris Godwin, it's hard not to immediately think of Kenny Golladay also, And I've read a lot of people that are afraid of Marvin Jones because of Kenny Golladay, and he's a bill. They just step up and be the number two there. Now there's not as many malice to feed in Detroit. You have Golden Tate, who has his role, the Ricky Brown's gone, Marvin Jones. Sure, theoretic, sure, I think I'd rather own Golladay than I would god One.
That is close. And I could see why you're saying that. What I thought you were gonna say is who would you rather own right now based on where they're going, Kenny Galley in like the tenth round or Marvin Jones in the fifth round, because I think there could be games where their production is kind of similar. Tang you know, like one game it's Marvin Jones, one game it's Kenny Gollady, but the lost the departure of Eric Ebron certainly does
open up some opportunity here for Kenny Golladay. I think, you know, you have him and Marvin Jones on the outside as those big receivers, guys that can do work in the red zone, and then Golden Tate, who you just move all over the field. You know how I feel about the lines passing game. I think they're a little bit more of a balance attack this year. But that's why I've kind of faded Marvin Jones a little bit.
I haven't drafted him on any of my teams. I just think drafting him in that fifth round, if Kenny Golladay is healthy, um, I'm not sure that he's going to come close to doing what he did. I think we I think we drafted him the fifth or sixth round in Carton's draft, and he's my wide receiver three. I think it's okay. You know, it's not terrible. It's I'm not relying on him as my wide receiver too, obviously.
I think it's okay. I I probably would rather have Galladay in like the tenth I agree, I agree with you with that. Take the shot there and it doesn't pay off, it doesn't pay off, it doesn't cast me anything. I think as again as a wide receiver three, I'm okay with it. That's why I drafted him there. I thought the value was was was good. Um, but I think if you gave me the option, I would take Holiday five rounds later. Did you have the option? Oh no,
you didn't have this option. But if you did, who would you take between Marvin Jones and Corey Davis? Because I think those guys are cemented fifth round wide receivers. Who you might have to make that decision if you're drafting this weekend. It's funny because my answer to that originally would have been I'd take Chris Hogan, who was also going in that spot, and now he's risen. He's risen like a whole round here. Chris Hogan again, he
was my answer. If if I have to choose between Marvin Jones and Corey Davis, I think I would take Marvin Jones. I don't feel good about it, but I think I would take Marvin Jones. I would take Corey Davis. I've consistently had him ranked higher than to Marvin Jones. I just think the talent is there where he was drafting the draft. They clearly want him to be the team's number one wide receiver. Remember we got that report recently that, uh, yeah, the passing game is going to
be focused around Corey Davis. They're moving him all over the field. So you like to see reports like that. You don't want to buy in too much. But all along I've had him in that fifth round range as a solid wide receiver three. I just think the opportunity for volume and upside is just much higher than it is with Marvin Joe Lea to a couple of followers before we hit the phone lines, and of course have to sign off of YouTube as well. UM some wide
receiver followers. Randall Cobb, the Randall Cops had this mystery injury, mry injury. He's just been injured all preseason. It doesn't seem like there's availability questions for early on in the year. But I have zero shares Randall Cob. I was interested in Randall Cob. I have Geronimo Allison everywhere. Um, are you still in on CAB? I know you were earlier. I've dropped him a little bit in the rankings, and I am a little worried. Look, we haven't seen him
in the preseason at all. We heard the report that they were shopping him. They there's a chance that they can cut him. I mean, I think that would be very surprising. But there's a lot of money there on the contract, so they could cut him and they could save some money here. And they've talked up Geronimo Allison for this team. So I remember last week when the
report came out that they were shopping him. You know, I tweeted out, Look, Geronimo Allison, who has to start drafting this guy a little bit earlier than he's been going because if Cobb isn't ready to start the year, or if anything happens to him, Ronimo Allison is going outside the top fifty wide receivers, and that means he
instantly has top thirty, top twenty five. Right So, based on where Randall cop was going, verst Toronomo Allison, I'm I would rather take the value on Toronomo aut You're getting him five six rounds later sometimes and Randall Cobb is going, but he's slipping down draft boards, and I think rightfully so, Isaiah Crowell has also slipped a bit. I was high I was very high on him early in this summer. Blow Powell started, I believe, every preseason game for the Jets. I got a question about Powell
last night from from a listener. I appreciate it. Um He said, should I drop Jordan Wilkins or Aaron Jones from blow Powell? And MY initial reaction was was no, And I still sent him the message no. But I was thinking about it today when we mentioned Crowell being a fuller, and I'm like, am I sleeping too much on Powell? You're the Jets fan, Frank, Well, what do you think? Yeah? I certainly think that Powell has closed the gap here. I think they should be closer in
rankings now. Look, Powell has started all three preseason games. He scored a touchdown in that third game against the New York Giants. And look, in years past, they haven't really figured out how to use ball Powell consistently. What they have a new offensive coordinator now in Jeremy Bates, So I think we have to take some some of that into consideration here, that maybe this offensive coordinator finally figured out how to get ball power more involved consistently.
But they did go out and they gave some money to Isaiah krow Well, so I think they're closer. But I think if you own one of them, you want to own both of them. If something were to happen to Crowell, um he's banged up, has the concussion. Maybe ball Power has a pretty big workload early on in the season, so they've closed the gap. I don't think that krow Well should be in that same tier with you know, Jamal Williams and carry on Johnson anymore. I think you move him down a little bit and you
move ball Power up the draft board. I actually would have answered your question um that I would rather own ball Power than George. Yeah, I figured that's I figured that's the direction you would go. But that will side off. YouTube. We appreciate you watching, obviously, if you're listening on on demand or you're listening live on the radio, we'll go.
We have another five minutes. We're gonna take your calls exclusively the rest of the way, So appreciate you watching, and the fantasy people, ball frenzy comes your way X eight four four eight four three six seven nine. Let's go to Jason in Cincinnati. Let's going on, Jason, Hey, are you doing Guys doing great man. What's happening? Um question? I have a keeper league UH ten teams PPR, and I have the option to keep. This is the first round keeper um either Creem Hunt or A B or
um Alvin Kamara. I was leaning towards Alvin Kamara. Was that the way you guys will go with? I'd probably I would lead to Alvin Camari. Yes, I agree with that, Frank, Yeah, I'd rather take the running back here. I understand. I think camar verus A B is extremely extremely close, but you want to lock down that running back and then I think an attention when you're gonna have your option at a great winter to totally agree with that, totally
with you. Let's go to Joe in New Jersey. What's up? Joe? Hey, Joe? What's up? Man? Oh? What's all? Thank you? How were doing doing great? Dude? What's up? Oh? I got a quick trade question for you. So I made a little mistake in my full point PPR Start two Quarterback league. I took Melvin Gordon, Adam Deeling, and Power Rudolph. I was gonna try to ship off Adam Feeland for t Y Hilton. Do you think I should do it? Adam Feeling for t Y Hilton. What do you think, Frank
in the PPR League. I think they're closely ranked. But I have no problem if you just wanted to free up, you know, not having that many Vikings on your team, trading Feeling for t Y. Actually have Hilton ranked higher than Feeling. I don't have a problem with trade Greg. Look at my rankings I have. I have Adam Feeling, uh, two spots behind t Y Hilton. I'm good with that. I'd rather have t Y Hilton. So there you go, Ye, there you go. Let's go to Jake in Dallas. Let's
going on, Jaki, Jake? What's going on? Man? I just got a couple of points to point on. I had my draft this past weekend. I think I got two of the biggest steels in the draft. I got Josh Gordon the tenth round and Edelman and the eleven. Yeah, it's good value. It's good guys worth this guess al heard you guys talking about Chris Godwin earlier. Yes, um, there is Kenny Golladay on the waiverware. I was just wondering should I drop him to pick up Galliday or no?
Did you drop Godwin for Golladay. You said I got uh Golliday for so I would I would drop Godwin and pick up Day in PPR, I Godwin in the fifteen round. In PPR, I'd rather keep Godwin. If this was a standard and not PPR where touchdowns matter more, I think I'd take the shot on Kenny Golladay the reasons I mentioned. He's going to be a force in the red zone. But I think there's more of a chance that Chris Godwin is the possession receiver for this team.
I'll keep him in PPR. Lladay I disagree. I guess I said before on the Gallandy guy. I think there's just so many mouths to feed in Tampa. And I didn't even mention Adam hum Freeze. I know, not a thing, but like that's another guy that could just steal receptions away from Chris Godwin. I think I'd rather have Goala Day than Godwin. Hey, and I understand why this is close, and I understand why there's a debate, and I understand why Jake has a decision to make. I think you
have a good god man. I think there's a chance that to Sean Jackson at this point of his career just comes in for certain places, certain packages. Isn't a full time player ADP has fallen dramatically as well, it is, and I think rightfully so, I think there's a chance that Chris Godwin and Mike Evans are consistently the starting wide receivers for this team and PPR I'll take Godwin. Yeah,
I think it's fair. I think it's completely fair. Evan sill will just ask a question on Twitter, um D Johnson, who I have zero shares that I don't want any shares of. He has zero receptions about the way this preseason zero. It's preseason, just saying, man, there's a lot do you like? Do Johnson? Still depends what you're getting in for. I think he's a fine bye week replacement
running back. You can take him in best ball because I think there's gonna be a few games where he pops off, where he has a ton of receptions in a single game, and obviously whatever games he scores a touchdown, he's gonna be worthy of being flex option for best Ball. But I think trying to predict when Duke Johnson is going to go off this year on a week tweek basis possible pretty hard to figure out. Well, look, Josh Gordon, if you know, if he's not healthy at times, maybe
they start to use Duke Johnson more in the slot again. Uh. And they've already talked up Jarvis Slandry how they're gonna use him on the outside. So I think he's fine as an RB five and PPR as a bye week replacement or just take him in best Ball for those weeks that he Betty pops off. All Right, there you go. That's gonna do it for us here today on The Fantasy best Friends Forever. Uh, good show. We appreciate the college.
We appreciate you watching obviously, Uh, the Fantasy football frenzy with Corey Parson, the Fantasy executive, Chris Betcher, the closer of course, the fantasy tas Jim Day comes your way next, Reggie, good stuff you. Uh, the person who listens on demand who drafted my dad? Please tweet at me at road underscore, Frank, let me know what you did. But Franks Neville, Alvil, Greg Saus But thank you so much for watching The Fantasy best Friends Forever. We'll do it all again tomorrow, we hope. M H.
