Yeah, this is the Fantasy the Best Friend Forever. Here the Fantasy Sports Radio Network alongside for Frankie Stamfell, I am Greg Sou's been fun show for you. Today we have two hours naturally and an hour number one we will give you some old guys that you shouldn't forget, like not every
old guy sucks. We want to remind you of that. An hour number two we'll go over with some of the young guys, some top prospects that you need to know, and James Anderson will join us for that. He's a prospect. Gurup plays a lot of dynasty leagues, and he will be somebody that will looks a lot more about some of these young guys than I do. And with that we will come in my body, my best friend forever. Mr Frank Stamp. What's up, Frankie? Happy Friday, Bud. I don't know where I kind of fit in on the
old guy young guy spectrum here. I'm happy you're owning the young guy thing, because I was gonna blast you for it. We're downstairs trying to think of a title for today's show, and I'm like, well, what's more searchable, Greg prospects in the title of a YouTube video or young guys? How many people are at home googling? Hm, hmmm, I need to find Fantasy Baseball young guys. Probably not many, Greg. I realized it's Friday, but we still got we still
got some work to do. Little little winded throw up the stairs. Clearly, I just sleep last night. It's better. I still wake up in the middle of the night, though, I think about work and I don't like it. What. Yeah, it sounds like something I would do. Nando. Nando tell me this would happen, and he was right. I wake
up in the middle of night Nano da fina. But here's what I don't do, and Nando did right, Like he used to wake up in the middle of night and have these thoughts about things he need to do or get done, and he would put him in his phone and write it down or just set an email out right in the middle of the night to do it. I just go back to sleep, and then when I wake up in the morning, I forget about what I was thinking about. And that's about it. So that's because
I'll tell you why. Love love with dedication, love the honesty from Gregg, that that's what I love. I'll tell you why though, because I know once I take out my phone or my computer, I'm up, and I don't want to do that. I don't want to be up. You really think that if you just lean over and like write it in your notes on your phone, that you can't just go back to sleep after that, because the most mornings, you know inside baseball for you, most mornings,
I wait, my alarm goes off. Almost the second the alarm goes off, I get a text message from Cardonna, like almost the second I wake up, including today, and I look at it and what did I see it? I'm you think Cardona just knows what time your alarm goes. I think he does. I'm gonna wait for at least he's wait until you wake up, dude. It could not
have been more simultaneous today. It was bizarre. You gotta you gotta give him credit for at least wait until you wake He doesn't always wait today, but I tried to give you some credit, Cardona. It was crazy, like but once I know, I know, I've seen that, I'm up. That's okay, and I know that hasn't gonna happen in the middle of night, just saying I'm just sleep, Frank, I slept pretty well. I went to sleep too late
because I set up to watch the end of the Blazers. Okay, see game, pretty pretty cool ending there, use of Narks getting tied up a little bit with Paul Georgia. That that was fun to watch. So that game go goes into overtime. I watched the end of that, and before I know it, it's almost two am, and I have to go to sleep and I have to wake up
at eight thirty. So little little tired this morning. I'm being honest, you know, I just drank a red Bull something something I don't normally do and I don't really advocate all that much, but I kind of needed that burst. I needed that Chris Ventra burst for Friday, Greg, so I could be doing better, and I think I'm slowly working up at the day meat today, no meat today either that it's correct, well, I mean it doesn't matter for you, for me yet for you. We almost planned
a shake check date. We thought we we thought we did. I actually text you right afterwards to be fair. I actually I asked you earlier this week, which day do you want to do that you chose Friday. I offer whatever you do, anything you want. It's very hard to remember until like the day of. I got a few
text messages this morning. That's kind of how I don't know if this works for like all Christian or Catholic people, but it's kind of like every Friday morning or ash Wednesday, they'll just be like a text chain like, hey, just remember you can't eat meat today. So I got a few of those this morning. I know the past better in the morning than you know once you've already sinned and forgot. I know the past. You haven't always followed this right, like sometimes you're just like I'm not doing this.
I want meat and you just eat it. Right, That doesn't sound accurate. I mean it might have happened. It might have happened where accidentally eight meat meat and then afterwards, Oh that might have been it. That might have been Floria. Look back at you one day, like last year, when you're eating meat, like, dude, you know it's Friday, right, You're like, it's already too late at that point. So I mean, yeah, I try try to follow the rual to you. You can do is try you. I'm gonna
I'm gonna eat meat. Probably you're going to Brewery's. Man, Yeah, I'm late. You think you're gonna be there, because if you're out late, I mean there's a chance that I could meet up with you as like a night. You're right by the way hight the l You were correct that when you get that, man, you're not going Homely would have just taken the train together the entire time. Yeah, I'm trying to think. Have I ever really seen you? Yeah, I've seen you pretty wasted. Yeah, I'm just imagining Kenyan
Drake Ron Ron Ron that's me. Last year we're here at the holiday party. We're going up against the King's Scott Angle and in the Fantasy playoffs, and it was we have our co managed team, myself, Greg and Michael Florio when he's still around now he's still alive, but we have Kenyan Drake and we're going up against Jarvis Landry and it's a real, real close matchup. And Greg just comes back from like ordering shots. I think I think I was coming from the bathroom, but that's fine.
Was coming with the back turning because I was coming down this one. You can see Kenyan Drake run and you start running towards that. That was sick. It was funny. I was pretty waste because it made everyone take the healer shots because what I like to do. Yeah, you're part of the reason why tequila is probably my Yeah, it's great because tastes good. I went on like a
five year hiatus of not tequila. Greg, he probably regretted that, no, because I had some I mean my teen years, like I mean my twenty one year old years, um, a lot of bad times with tequila. So I need the hiatus for sure. But now I'm back and it's cool. I have a much tequila in my house. What is your favorite tequila? I feel like we've talked about I'm easy, so basic. You this delicious tequila. I like daileone. I'm telling you you gotta get this. It's uh, it's get
the silver one too. It's just a square bottle with, for lack of a better term, a big D on it. That's really what it is. You can let's let's bring it over here. No wrong, wrong way, here we go. That's basically it. It's just a square bottle. They're not paying me to do this. Um. Also, the cap is really cool too. It's like this big silver ball, great sequila. Right, should we talk us? Well, guys, probably, I'm ready, Greg, you're ready. So we were officially under a week away.
Now that's kind of cool for our g d D draft still need to hang out and kind of plan this out, and we have to do an auction episode. Yea. Our man, our guy Constantine has a He've been asking me about auction as well. Think talk some auction strategy. I'm sure a lot of people do. I think we'll probably do the auction show on Monday. This Monday, didn't We want to try and get ian Con on the only day I can possibly be here before our Also
said he don't want to reveal his auction strategy. Oh yeah, right, but what if he's not here, he is here, that we'll do that. We'll do it, will make him if he's not here, we can't make ian Con do anything. I mean, he's General George Washington. He's not gonna listen to us. In fact, he will just command us to do something else and then we will follow him. We have no choice. We'll do that before the auction or after our auction, before right auction draft strategy. It doesn't
matter to me. And I think sooner rather than later, just because people might have auctions coming up. Yeah, I mean we have we have drafts, have a lot of drafts coming up, a lot going on, I mean a lot of people, do we know? Was like a lot of programming us to talk about too for LEAs. All right, So Thursday we have our our G D D auction which is live in person at Anne the House of
Bruis next Thursday night. Come on hang out if you want to come by and hang out and cheer us on in content, bring a sign you can cheerly, bring some pompoms something. Ian Con telling me that not only is he looks forward to us bidding twenty seven dollars. Again, he looks forward to how was the draft? Because we didn't know him last year, truly met him, like we didn't know him. I was very I was. I wasn't donated in that room. Sure sounds like people who like,
you know what, punch in the face. Okay, Greg, I can't imagine you punching anyone in the face. Yea, I just can't imagine. You're right, I can't do that, can we get? I want a serious this camera, Greg, stand up. I want you to give me like a combination. I want you to give you like that. I want you to give me, like, give me something that's like it was like a fighting Irish. I know you're ready for like march manness. Greg, it's like a little Notre dame guy.
Let's go, let's go. Let's have you stand up here, give me, give me, give me a two jab and a never pushed anybody in my life, clearly you really you never have, right, Greg, No, it's not. I'm a lover, not a fighter. I like to consider myself a lover as well. There close to fight it. But what happens when you're drunk? I mean you know how, and I'm drunk. I break people up fighting. I've never ever had an urge to find anybody in my life. Ever. Sometimes I
get beer muscles. I never did. That's for stupid, but only over the right things. I'm still like a logical, rational person. That's probably not true. I am. That's why people like me. I'm always a rational person. But I get very I get very defensive, like if someone's like picking on my friends or like obviously kno or something, I'll be very quick trigger kind of thing. Really, yeah, Florida always with a quick trigger. Definitely, definitely. He goes
from zero a hundred, very old. Yeah you saw mild matter normally. Yeah, no, it comes out when he drinks, for sure. M sorry, I not that. What else are we talking about? What's what's our next? And then I have the main event on Saturday. Great, I'll be there. I'll be there supporting you. When I find out my draft pick, I don't know. Then we'll start mapping out my strategy a little bit. So programs that we're gonna
both be at the NFBC next Friday. I don't know, like what that does our show, but we'll be there next Friday So NFBC on Friday will be at the Stewart Hotel and broadcasting covering they're doing auctions at that time, right, so you'll get be able to listen then as well find out what's going on in these high stakes auctions. We'll give you our thoughts on. Obviously the prices of players are construction of teams that are within the auction there that would be really fun. I'm looking forward to
that great. Yes, I mean that'll be a great done. How long are these How long are these things? I mean as long as you'd imagine the auctions, especially cover the whole thing. Probably I would imagine we don't cover the whole thing because then that's like a four or five hour affair. Yeah, it seems long, but I should talk about mean especially early on. Yeah, which players are getting thrown? Yeah, you know, I'm very sad for that six hour auctions. That seems that seems long. Yeah, that
seems too long. We'll have to get on that. And the main event obviously on Saturday, not on auction. That's a thanks draft, which is a little bit shorter. Um, nobody three snake drafts going on, right, I'm only get pay attention to yours. Thanks man, be honest with Thursday ESPN. ESPN will be in our studio. I don't know what our plan for the show is. We'll figure an next Thursday, Okay, I talked about that. And then we have I have a g S T draft Tuesday the nineteen, and my
Holy draft TUSA ninety. Big night for you, Big night for me. So you're not really going to help us at all during the TST draft? Seems well, I can because I'm on the end the first picks, I should be able to be involved in him. We should probably send them money to NUS. The Flora was gonna do that. I talked to him. Oh actually, okay, I actually think I just kept telling him to do it. No, no, he says, I'll do it tomorrow at work. I'm gonna mind it right now. Okay, So I'll send him some money,
and you send them money to Ronus. I will then, will you? Now I will as well? Frank here you go? Cool? Um, yes, alright, alright, go start? Who's your first one? Just right? Like this is a guy who is what thirty eight years old? You were take that? That's seems too old. That's not right. Now, he's not that old. He's not. That's yeah, he's probably thirty five, thirty six, just thirty six having a birthday.
Um So Justin burn Lander was a guy and the narrative goes, and rightfully so, the narrative goes that you want to be a year earlier than a year late. We have said that repeatedly on this show and pointed out guys like a Corey Klueber for instance, that you want to make sure you're there. But as we said in our Starting Pitching preview, you look for signs of decline.
You look for something being different, something going wrong. When you look at Justin Verlander and you see last year that he struck out two d and ninety batters, more than he has in any season of his career ever, you're like, Okay, well, maybe this isn't the guy that I'm just giving up on. Maybe this isn't the guy that I need to be a year early on, because I know that he You thought you saw signs of
decline in his last few years in Texas. You can make a case that last season was the best season of Justin Verlander's career. He's the guy who's want to stay young. Now his two thousand eleven was better because he was twenty four and five a two forty year eight that was probably better strikeouts, But like that year and the last year pretty damn similar and close. That's how good he was. And are you really gonna throw all of that away because of his age. I don't
think that's fair. I was agist admittedly coming in the draft prep season, Chris Ventra, Frank Stafell. They brought me back. I mean, ne Verlander. If I think everyone should Greg if I told you there was only one other starting pitcher outside of Max Scherzer, that would be a lot to give you two pitched. That's a great point. Also, it's justin Verlin. It's justin Verlinder, and he's doing it at you know, twelve case per nine sou per nine innings pitch so and he has better, better command than
ever before. I've in saying this about the Astros. I'm not gonna go into whether or not, Okay, they have substances. I'm not gonna do the Trevor Battle thing. But everything that Houston Astro touch turns to gold. This guy legitimately just had a career year. I mean, the twelve point two case per nine. For Justin Verland, who has been a great picture in the past, has one a cy Young was the highest of his career in his age thirty five season is one point five six walks per nine,
the best of his career. Even if you want to point to the peripherals, right, he was a two point five to ear a, a three point zero three exit. Even if he pitches to a three e r A and goes two any pitch at nearly twelve case per nine, he's gonna give you two thirty plus strikeouts this year. I mean he had a career high swinging strike rate, he had a career high first pitch strike grade. It's like he's getting better with age. Greg Justin Verlander a
fine wine. One might say. Look, if if we saw a velocity declining or swinging strike grade coming down, or you know, him losing command or no control within the strike zone and giving up home runs more than ever before, I would be worried. Do you have none of those things? He actually got better last year. I'm not worried about Land all right. When we come back some the other old guys may not be as obvious as the Justin Verlander. We'll bring it down when we come back. Fantasy best

Scout Fantasy Sports. It's about the category. So you can trade like Chris Davis for Malex Smith and it absurd. But if your first in power first and r BIS and you can pick up five points and steals, how are you to argue that train, I mean is related. Week days to the four pm Eastern on the Fantasy Sports Network and on your popular podcast providers Ridge A pie Vation, wholl Whoa, Whoa, Whoa Back with you Fantasy Best Friend Friends Forever, Fantasy Sports Radio Network. That is Frank Stafle. I am Greg Susman. It is Friday, feeling good, a lot of fun, absolutely great. I almost missed the whale, to be honest, put my headphones on a little bit late. There'd so was like two seconds before we came in. Do not Oh, don't say that
DFS today. I don't think you really liked her singing or dancing. It's Friday. I gotta singing dance. Greg Florio is next to me. Nice, awesome. I yeah, I definitely did it last year. Yeah, I feel like Florio never did it, so I said, he said paid next year. I'm not it. It's like, oh, yeah, I guess that was on me. Yeah, a little a little cycle here, Greg, that's okay, I'm okay with that. I actually this during the break. I want to get your thoughts in the
chat as well. People watching home listening. You could buy any sports jersey right now, Greg, who would you buy? It's probably I can't buy. I guess say Kwan Barkley makes sense for me, like Barkley comes to mind boring answer, But I know, you know what does Atlantic Collins at one point, so that that working out poorly. I got the land in Collins, Jersey for his birthday last year. It sucks. That sucks. I told him I'd get a land in Collins Cowboys Jersey for him. I could choose one.
Jersey's gonna skip over that completely ignoring that. Um, I guess I would go Barkley. My answers are so bad. I'm sorry. I apologize. But Barkley or Judge man Ventro was downstairs and he said, you know what you need because I told him I ordered the Bryce Harper jersey, the blue one, the blue Phillies jersey and the only one in my teams. Like I didn't even think outside of the teams. No, I mean, that's kind of who you are. Greg. It's fine, you're home or at your heart.
It's cool, but it's jersey. W don't wear a jersey or other than team. It's like, I don't really want a Yankees jersey, Like I have a Yankee jersey ready, I'm good. I don't know. I just like to buy like random, obscure like players, my favorite players kind of jerseys. I have a Justin Upton jersey at home from when he was on the Diamondbacks too. It's kind of cool. Yeah, all right, do you want me to know which random jersey I would want? Yeah? I told venture downstairs, I
order a Bryce Harper jersey. He goes, you know what you need? I live. He's the godfather traditionally. Yeah, um, he goes, you need an all black Pittsburgh by Josh Bell jersey. What that is very obscure. That is obscure. That is really obscure. Alright, Like okay, so it's like me, I think it'd be cool. She can get Oh man, this is annoying because like I would love at Ronado jersey. But that's not cool anymore because like Ronado is like,
all right, we got it already. Also very boring, very boring. Someone give me someone who doesn't go in the first round of any fantasy sports draft. Okay, fair enough. He's like, oh man, I gotta go back to my rankings for this right ready. How about a haze Us Aguilar jersey. That's pretty cool. That's pretty cool. You know I should wear this one day next week. I have a Jonathan VR Brewers players shirt. That's gross, man, huge, that's pretty obscure. Yeah,
I have a Jonathan VR player shirt. I have a I have a Brights Harper Nationals player shirt. I had to get the Philly shirt. I think old must Grove jersey from Stephen Core. Mean, let's go. You know we're getting the big big Joey Muss. You can't tell it. Do you realize how many times over the last couple of days. You know we're getting this guy. You know we're drafting this guy. You know we're gonna we have
to have him. Well, if you've said you don't want to plan a mandate to figure out the office like doing that, that's not that's not my style. What I don't plan on getting certain guys I don't do that. Yes, we're gonna plan a range of players, like two or three guys at each position want to give us similar there's priced too high, little pipot, okay, but we need
backup plans. So the way that we're going to plan our action I'm telling you this right now, is we're gonna go by position and we're gonna say what statistics in a rotissory auction do we want to get from said position, Like, oh, our second baseman do we want Let's say we want a to seventy batting average with twelve homers and fifteen solong basis will map out like three different guys that we want that could give us that we have backup plans. That's what we're gonna do.
What are wenna do this before Thursday? Let me know what you don't want to meet the afrom Beer later. It's really a good difference. It's on your way home if I come up, If I'm meet up with you at nine pm tonight, you are going to be wasted if we are not going to get anything done right, and then you're gonna still problem is you're gonna then catch up. Oh I, I'm already gonna be caught up. Don't you know that? You know I don't know how
to hate myself? Is this tough? Monday? Monday? Monday after jury, Dudy, he could work on good Monday. Are you busy Monday? And it's a Monday, Suesday. I can't do Wednesday. I can do Wednesday, the night before the draft. Can definitely do that. Monday or Wednesday. We'll figure it out. Okay, we'll definitely do it one day Wednesday. Either one totally works for me. Back to old guys, they'll do Wednesday.
It's your term, man, I can get just the Verlander. Well, someone in the chat was asking us about Joey Votto, So let's let's Votto. I think he's gotta be like thirty five now, right, he's up there, he's he's mid thirties as well. I will say this about Joey Votto in your standard Rodal league, he is he is thirty five years old. Actually, in any league he's still thirty five years my understanding, and if your standard Rodal league has not been a target of mine. And I really,
I really liked the Reds lineup. I just worry about welve home runs last year in a hundred and forty five games. He stayed healthy. You see the play decline a little bit. It was just a really, really weird season from Joey Vado. I'll say, look in ov P and head to head points leagues, I'm still perfectly fine taking Votto. But what's your realistic projection for Vado this year in his age thirty five season? And you know, Votto's kind of a head case. He's is that the
right word for it? Head case? I mean there's been times when people ask him like, hey, why are you going through a slump and he says, I'm just trying some stuff out. Now. Maybe he's more motivated now because the Reds are gonna be a little bit more competitive. I mean, headcase, weird dude, they're different head case or weird dude. Weird dude. He's kind of a head case too. He really, yeah, he's out there. Okay, look, Joey Votto. I understand how talented he has been. I just where
is he going to excel? I mean, he might still be able to provide a three batting average, but is he gonna be twenty two home runs? If he's batting second in the red line up, he's still gonna score a ton of runs. What are the RBI is gonna look like? I like the Reds lineup. He's just kind of a weird dude to figure out. Last year he struggled against lefties two, which was weird for him. I mean, to to sixty with a seven fifty p s against lefties.
Against right ees, he was two eighty ops. Um yeah again, only twelve home runs. It was just it was a weird season. His home in the fly ball ratio was the outlier. I mean, it was nine point five per cent, which was his lowest since when it was ten point seven percent, And that was just an injury marred season. In each of the past three years it was over ninth ten percent. He doesn't really hit a lot of flyballs, but when he does, it seems like one out of
every five. Right around that range, flies out of the park. He has a lot of line drives. We always know that about Vado. He's one of the best pure hitters I've probably seen in this generation of baseball. But he's just not really an active target of mine. I don't know if it's if it's a combination of gonna worried about the age, the price. I thought maybe we've got more of a discount from Vado. I've seen him going
in like the fifth round raide sometimes fourth round. There's just other players I like at the first based position that I could even at Jose Brave a little bit later on God bless you greg Or, I can get thank you Matt Olsen to three rounds later. Who I think is gonna break out this year? Who can hit, you know, thirty thirty five home runs. How do you feel about Votto just not really an active target of mine? Yeah, no, I get that. Um. I think in ob P leagues,
I think Joey Botter is still fine. Obviously the O b P has consistently been over four d which is ridiculous. It was still four seventeen last so last four years. He's still seeing the ball. Well, I know he's struck out actually less than the year before. So Kato, he still walks more than these strikes out, and I think it. WO p leagues, You're fine. I know you want normally power at the first base position. I don't hate Joey Vado. I think the power does come back to an extent.
I mean, the home run five all ratio under ten percent last year, Like that's going to change. I don't. I think the days of getting close to thirty home runs are probably done for Joey Vado. I don't think close to twenties very unrealistic. So I'm fine with Joey Botto. If Joey Vaddo is there for me and he's the top guy on the board, I'm not gonna shy away
from it. The past week NFBC a DP has Joey Vado at pick sixty five, and the next first baseman off the board after that, twelve picks later is Hayes's Greg. Who would you rather have Votto at pick sixty five? Or what kind of league? This is NBC set so standard five by five we're talking about in general, or like at that spot or around later after after Aguilar, around late I don't even like Auler, but about to have a round later. How about this Joey Vado at
pick sixty five or Jose at eight six later? I VA, you're not You're not doing the Jose break. It's fine, you know. I just think Joe Vaddo has gotta better at everything. Yeah, but is he twenty one picks better? Yes? I don't think the batting average is gonna be that far off. Wet was probably gonna hit two ninety. I think Jose Brad is probably gonna be two eight five. I know it dipped last year, but he was, you know, he was dealing with injuries particular. That's gonna gonna mess
you up a little bit right there. He's gonna mess you up. He's gonna hit close to thirty home runs. I think you know when I wrote up my first base piece, my first base targets on my Patreon, would you get now? I said, I made the comparison of Jose A Brew is basically Anthony Rizzo, and Anthony Rizzo goes in the third round and you're getting host a break you in the like six seventh and you hate Anthony z yeah, because he's a third round player and
he's boring you don't hate. You don't hate the player. You hate the game. Sorry, I don't. I don't hate the player. I hate the cost. That's when it comes down to Greg's king around and the fact that you made me spend thirty seven dollars on him last I mean you could easily look it up. I'm not going to. I don't want to know. I don't know. It's just Jose are you at eighty six seems like a great fact? Sixty five? I just feel like we should be getting more of a discount on Joey Votto based on how
bad last year was. It was bad. I own him even the Points League. It was a huge disappointment. He was a huge disappointment for me last year. But as a fourth round head to head point, you're not spending a first or second round pick anymore. He saw a fourth is this discount? I just I thought we would get more of a discount. I mean, twelve of them runs great in a hundred games, Dude, I get a ration. You know you gotta project forward. It's not to you.
Look at all the projections on fan graphs. Everybody hasn't projected. Everybody is that? Really? Does that get the job done for you, Greg with a four over. Yes, they have in between two seventy eight and two nine. That's a pretty wide range. Eight home runs is not paying off disaster disaster disaster. Maybe in a lot of with get
changes right, it definitely could, definitely could. I think if I couldn't end up being wrong about Botto in your standard Roado leagues, and if I am, I mean it is what it is, He'll be on someone else's team. Quick question, how old is someone have to be the qualify as a little guy for this program. I would say mid thirties. What is that it's like thirty three min or is that young stough? That's depends who it is,
because it could be an old thirty three. Still in Daniel Murphy, a lot of people are thirty four in April, like he's an old guy. That means even that I'm a little bit more skeptical about Daniel Murphy. Just know the knees being healthy. I worry about the knees, man, I do worry about the knees. Uh. When it comes to Daniel Murphy. It's hard to hold last year against him because for most of the year he wasn't really fully healthy. Until really the end of the season, but
he struggled against left handed pitching. I mean his uh, his average eggs velocity was was significantly down. His average ex velocity and hard hit rate were significantly down last year. So look, is that completely a product of him, you know, playing through injury. It easily could be. I realized in coors Field he might have. He has the upside of hit. Like what, people are getting very very excited about him.
I don't dislike him. I think I'm just everyone sees Daniel Murphy with rose colored glasses right now, Greg, And I think I just see Daniel Murphy with regular glasses on, with regular sun glass you know, but I like him. It's really crazy. I'm not going out of my way to get here. You're not really somebody that loves to talk about the lineup around. You love talking about the ballpark. He said, Hey, I always want more guys in Coloradi. You still like Charlie Blackman a lot? We went over that,
of course, no one right now, there's Nolan. You love Trevor's story. What happened when Indie doesn't moved to Colorado? Greg, we loved him, and we h they're not the same same player. I realized that it's not just like black and white knee and Desmon struggled when he went to Coursfield. Therefore, Daniel Murphy is Daniel Murphy is a little bit older now.
He has had this knee injury, and you know, some things that I've read and seen about him have said, you know, people, we're worried about him because it was like bone on bone with his knee. It kind of worries me for actually, for like an older dude like this. I realized what his upside can be. And again, I'm not out on him. I'm just choosing to see both sides here. A lot of people are just yeah, I'm seeing some of the cons too with Daniel Murphy. That's
and I think that's fair. I don't think it's a bad price though. The price is fair, man. I think the price is fair. I think he's gonna have I don't know, even coming off the year with the Nationals where he was like an m VP finalist, he was going in what the fourth fifth round. He still kind of going in that range now and he's in Colorado. So I don't think it's a bad price. He's going to pick sixty one a little bit ahead of Joey Varro.
I will say this, if I'm on the clock and I'm deciding between Daniel Murphy and Joey Vardo, I'm taking Daniel Murphy. Plus he has he's gonna have dual position eligibility, have second base and first base. Using that middle enfield corner infield it helps a lot too. I'm choosing between those two. I'm taking Murphy. Fair enough, you got a little guy for me. Let's scroll down the list, see we can find here, and I have another one I
want to talk about that. If you don't, let's do this, I'll bring up one that you you mentioned to me yesterday, Greg that we haven't really spoke about at all. Miguel Cabrera. Okay, Cabrera guy, No one's talking about Miguel Cabrera. Nobody should we be? Well, I think it's worth mentioning Pie seven right now and NFBC a EP, just another guy. I thought you'd get more of a discount if I'm being honest.
Really alright, So, I think I think some of his name value still kind of lusters in this value here. So in a he's always hurt. So one year older in a twelve team league, that's the thirteenth round. Right, In a fifteen team league, it is the tenth round. We're right, she love sorry, eleventh round and eleven in the fourteenth excuse me, the eleven in the fourteenth round.
That's pretty late, man. Now, I get it. He has not been healthy in the last two years at all, and three of the last four years he's missed a ton of time. I understand that, I do, but I still think, like, I don't know, maybe I should be add on him. That is why we're talking about it, because look, a right games, this is interesting. Great thing
about this, Sorry, Bud. The fan graphs projections have his batting average between two seventy nine and two four and three oh five and between seventeen home runs and twenty four home runs. Doesn't that sound a lot like Joey we were just talking about who's going in the fourth round round of drafts. Is it that far off? No, If you had to set the over under for games played this year from Miguel Cabret, what would you say it set it at one? It sounds it sounds like
you're about to say more. So I was about to say one thirty five and I dropped it at the less. So the number that I was thinking in my head was one twenty nine and a half. Okay, so we're right there, We're right in the same ring. So we played one. So this is what would you expect. So I'm gonna answer that question. Where at sixteen home runs he batted to fifty. That's my expectation. And that's why
I think I'm out on the Gael Cabret. Now he still hits the ball extream every year he's sitting the ball, but last year was healing again with multiple injuries. Do he like tours, tricep or whatever the final injury was, and you think the thing upside? Probably not. They're like, you're right with the guy like Daniel Murphy. There is upside in Colorado and a course field with the Yogo baro joevato. It may not be there. I gotta talk

When you close your eyes like that, I just something something weird just happens to my body. Yet Oh gosh, Greig never never changed. It's interesting. This is somewhat baseball related, Frank, So, I'm gonna say it to you. Um So, Sinclair Broadcasting, who owns a Ring of Honor, has purchased for three
point five billion dollars the Yes Network. I just got an update but before we came on that the Yankees bought back Yes Network or something partner with Sinclair whos I'm sure doing the heavy lifting with the money. Okay, So, does that lead you to believe that Ring of Honor is gonna air on the Yes Network? Now? I think it's possibly. Yeah, good for him, very interesting. More televised wrestling is what's best for business, Greg, Do you read the eight as a turner? That's a big rumor? Mm hmm.
I don't know. Actually, do do then brothers have any ties to network? I don't think so. I don't think so. I to be honest, I just don't know a w that's all Elite Wrestling, which was purchased by Tony Con, which is Shad CON's brother, the owner, his son, his son,
his son. Yeah, it's it's either his son or his brother so the same owner of the Jaguars, somewhere in the family there has bought All Elite Wrestling, which is a new wrestling company that is J M JF F A w probably get him on the show at some point if we wanted to wrestling, we should probably get him on before double or nothing. Maybe like that Friday, I will I will text him and we'll try to get him on. He'll be in character. Would be great, right.
Just going back to Miguel Cabrera, Um, I told you this during the break, but here's what. Here's the injuries that we had from Miguel Cabrera in alone, hip, back, handstring, and then the torn biceps tendon which finally rap up his season. I did read this quote from Miguel Cabrera. I mean, take what from you? What what? What? What you will? But I want to be dangerous. You have
to be confident. I'm gonna play not like you have to be cocky something like that, but you have to be confident and you have to feel like you can still do it. I'm going to play my best. What else is he gonna say? Right? Honestly, at this age so um, he was still hitting the ball extremely hard, last year he sacrificed some of the power career high
fifty four point six percent groundball rate. So when I see something like that, it starts to set Tell me, is at the beginning of the decline hitting the ball on the ground as much as you are? Was he playing through injury? That's probably more likely the case for for Miguel Cabrera. I had my projection for him at two eight home runs, seventy runs scored and seventy five r b i s and in parents season one d
and thirty games. Ah, but yeah, I will say this like going over and drafted him anywhere you like going over Migge. You are talking me adergery about him. You're good. I'm happy, happy to do so great. You are not able to talk about Daniel Murphy though hard when we move on some of the old guys, A meaning that has come up. And I we talked about him briefly when you're a great Fantasy Baseball Invitational team was going. It was drafting, I should say. And that's Ryan Braun.
So Ryan Braun, in his mid thirties now, is still a major part over this Brewer's lineup. And they traded away to Mango Santani started the year in the minors as because it just didn't have a spot for him. Now Hazy's Aguilar and Eric Thames pretty well set at first base. Ryan Brown is going back to being exclusively an outfielder. With Lorenzo Caine and Christian Yellow. He's expected to play every day. Obviously, Kean Brox and Lewis Princeton no longer there either. I don't think he's every day.
You don't think he plays every day. Last year he played a hundred and twenty five games. That's probably realistic, Okay, the same thing as Yeah, I think they could play Eric Fames in the outfield, though I probably don't want to do that. They have I could look at how many games you played, Yeah, I thought it was Eric Fames is the fourth outfield Like I know Fames could fill in at first base as well. Into their depth chart,
it looks like Ben Gamble along with Eric Thames. So it's like, yeah, so Ryan Brown is expected to play every day. I just don't mean he's capable of and I don't think that's the expectation either. Even last year only played a hundred and twenty five games, and based on where he's going in a DPS going outside the top two d and NNBC ADP right outside. You know, if I get normally you know from my outfield four and outfield five, if you play in Rhado, i'd i'd
like to take better upside shots. But I do think that he is an old guy. That's that's being overlooked here, Greg. Because it's twenty home runs in eleven stolen bases last year for Roado. That's definitely valuable. He only hit two fifty four, but the county stats when he does play are still gonna be pretty good. I want as much exposure to this Brewer's lineup as I could possibly get.
That's honestly what it comes down to. Can you say this anything with the Brewer the Rockies, which is why you should like Daniel Murphy just saying yeah, I mean, I want to get as many shares of great lineups as I could possibly get. I mean, there are other concerns when it comes to Daniel Murphy that I mentioned. I worry a little bit about the knee and the injury history. And you know he's going a hundred and forty spots higher than Ryan bron so that's a huge difference.
As well. But yeah, I mean the Brewers is really a lineup that I've in targeting this year that I want as many shares as I possibly can get. Ryan bron still gonna hit in the middle of that lineup when he is in the lineup. At least eleven stolen bases in each of the past five seasons. I feel like that's kind of an underrated part of his game.
He hits a lot of groundballs now he actually always has right right So if you look back at even like his MVP seasons, like he's always hit a lot of groundballs, the home run the flyball ratio is high, but he still hits the ball extremely hard. I mean, he's in his mid thirties now hard hit rates. So I kind of like Ryan Brown if you can get him as your outfield four or outfield five, or maybe even your utility player, I kind of like it. It
gives you cheap exposure to the Brewers lineup. Yeah, I think as a in a rotal league in a deep format, of course, as your fourth, fourth, or fifth or utility player, I'm okay with it because, like you said, you're getting cheap steals, you're getting cheap power and you're getting access to a great lineup as long as you don't expect a hundred and fifty games anymore. From Ryan Brown Winch, I don't think you can do. You're just getting cheap everything,
I believe. How about this, Greg, I've never seen a discrepancy this big has when your actual batting average and you're expected batting average. Ryan Brown was two fifty four last year. Is expected batting average, according to stat Cast was to you hit the ball extremely hard one nine average eggs and velocity was eighteen best in baseball last year Top twenty from Ryan Brown. Maybe he's back in
the juice. Give an active target for it. I'm not gonna go out of my way to get him, but where he's falling, if I get him out as my outfield four, I think I'm okay with that. I think I'm okay with that. My Great Fantasy Baseball Invitational. How about this? He went in around fourteen yea to James Anderson. We will have on later in the program. I think that's about right. I think it's about right. The dealers that went just after him, Adam Eaton, Randall, Grit Chuck Mingo, Santana.
I think Santana over him. I think what we were doing this straft. So now you know the helium is is rising for Domingo Santana. But if I do agree with you in a vacuum, I'd rather have Santana, but some of those other names would rather have here, Greg, this might be a tough one for you, and I actually took Cedric Mollins. Would you rather have Braun or Moulins? Try that, Ryan Bron? Really yeah, okay, Ryan, run the upside.
Probably hire Cedric Mullins. But like, actually that really good line up, Like you know that he's not gonna lose his job, Ryan Bron, Frank, I, I know ages a big big thing, and ages and exists. What I told you that you can get a player that's hit over thirty five home runs the last five years in a row, would you be interested? Yes, he's going before pick one and he's thirty eight years old, is it? He's not?
It's Nelson Cruz. Nelson Cruz, thirty eight years old. He said, at least thirty five home runs every year since last year the average fell to its lowest that it's been since since he was a full time player. To be honest with you all the way down to two fifty six. He's OVP dropped to the lowest it's been since rather to three forty two. His hard hit percentage, well, it was the best of his career. Last year at fort he goes over to Minnesota. He was in Seattle, which
is not a good hitters ballpark. Goes over to Minnesota, also not a good hitters ballpark, but not really any worse. I don't think you could let me know. Um. Then Seattle, Minnesota has filled the line up with a lot of these bombed kind of guys. Try to improve that lineup, and Nellie Cruise is gonna play d right in the middle of it. Its interested in Nelson Cruz. I have ended up with Nelson Cruise on a few teams so far because and and their fan track's best ball, because
he still has outfield eligibility there. I think why some people might skip over Nelson Cruizes in most leagues he only has utility only, and they don't really want to lock up that spot. It kind of limits your versatility within the draft. But I do think there is a little ages um here, Greg, because if you last year you mentioned the forty two point three percent hard hit ring, which was a career high for Nelson Cruz. His baggage
was two sixty four. That was his lowest since two thousand and six, when he only played forty one games, when he wasn't really a full time player at all. I mean, so two sixty four, it stands out and it's some some people might worry about it and say, oh, well, this is you. The batting average, the babit. This is a sign of you know, Cruise getting older. This is
a sign of his play starting to decline. Not that's not the case, because you look at the hard hit the bat and ball data, it's still right in line. His expected batting average was two eighty three, So another guy here where the expected batting average much higher. I think people are a little bit worried about the two fifty six, but still hit thirty seven home runs and drove in nineties seven last year. And I'm bullish on the Twins lineup, man. I like this Twins lineup, Rosario,
they bring in Marwin Gonzalez. A lot of people like Max Kepler this year is going way too late. In Josh Mother last he's like too and you know, the first month of the season he's gonna be in everything. And even when mcguilson no comes back, they're gonna get creative. They're gonna find way from the plant. Other guys will get hurt or struggled by that. Yeah, and look, everyone likes Byron Buxton right now too. I like this Twins
line up a lot. I realized it's not a great ballpark there in target Field, but I like this line up a lot. I think people are overlooking Nelson Cruise. The obvious question has to do, if you only have him as utility only, who would you rather have Chris Davis a pick or Nelson Cruise pick. There's a fifty pick difference. Fabulous question. Actually, it's it shouldn't even be.
It shouldn't even be a question, to be honest, if you're getting a better batting average of Nelson crews, and maybe, let's say, best case scenario, Chris Davis hits forty five home runs. Again, let's just say he has a ten home run advantage. Are the county sets really gonna be that far off? I'm saying it. Wins lineup is at least on par with Oakland, it's even better. Neither places great. It doesn't matter because I think both guys have power
that exceeds it, no question. Let's look for Chris Davins. They say, all right, well, you know he's what five six years younger than Nelson Crewise. Yeah, I mean it's there's no question. Why would you not take Nelson Crews huge value here would and Crews as as it is every year? Yeah, people normally get people as fourth fifth round. Now we're getting him even later than that. Nothing's really changed other than that than the batting average last year.
Everything else is the same. Yeah, but I just mapped it out for you, knowing average last year. Okay, expected batting average over the past four years starting in to eighty three and seventeen to eighty three is bad. Ball data did not change. You just got un lucky. Those thing things happened in baseball where the batting average and the bad bit fluctuates based on luck. There's nothing in the bad of ball data. I mean, ninety three point nine mile pur average exit of velocity for Nelson Cruise
last year, it didn't change. The expected batting average was still two eighty three. You're getting him at a huge discount. I agree with you. That's stage is ms. What that is now I'm just trying to figure out why I haven't ended up with more shares of Nelson crews were interesting? How about this? In the Great Fantasy Base for Imitational, he went with the first pick of the fifth round, so there was no this was a sharp group like these guys were. There were sucking the value out of everyone.
I mean, ya went with the second pick of the fourth round, so he really was not much value to be had. Leave an old guy that I know you don't like. Josh Donaldson's going one pick after Nelson CRUs right, now, you have nothing to do with Josh Donaldson, right? Nothing is it fair that say you much rather have Justin Turner joined ten picks later? Definitely another old guy for you. I mean, just looking at my rankings, Josh Donaldson, I have as my nineteen ranked third baseman, I have Justin Turner.
I actually thought you'd have Turner higher. Should He's awesome? What did you like to hear the players I have just ahead of him? Why not I have Andrew Harror, Matt Carpenter and Michael Stocks. I think it's warranted. It's not this one I think he might want debated with. Then the other two are Fair. Who are you in between? You in between Turner and Um Donaldson, I have Max Munsey,
Travis Shaw, Will Meyers, Raffie Devers, and Matt Chapman. Chapman again, guy, you gotta pay attention to here during the spring because I want to really, really like Matt Chapman. This guy made huge, huge strides last year. I want to like him. I just want to know that he's healthy because he was dealing with a shoulder. He had off season thumb surgery as well. So a thumb and a shoulder for
Matt Chapman couldn't make things very difficult to hit. So he's really a name that I gotta pay attended to. Really gonna hone in and watch him over the next you know, five days or so next week and really see because as the drafts are coming closer, Matt Chapman's healthy, he's he's going to be a guy that I want. And he's not as old as some of the guys that we're talking about. We didn't really even talk about Josh Donald. It's not gonna say we don't want him.
He's thinking. He's missed a hundred and fifty nine games over the past I think That's what it comes down to. Why hasn't Josh Johnson made his debut yet in the spring? Guys is he's old. He's old, and he's always hurt. The guy couldn't throw a baseball last year. He plays third base. I like Josh Humperton, He's awesome. The brainer of rain. I like the Braves lineup to I want to I want to exposure to this lineup as well.
He's gonna hit second, but between potentially Ronald Dacunia and free first freeman in theory, it should be a great spot. This is another guy with where I thought you'd get more of a discount on him based on the injuries that he's had. He's going to pick and b c a DP not really getting a discount, which is what surprises me. Yeah, another old guy at third base. He's not as old as some of the players that were mentioning, but Kyle Seeger is seen as an old guy senior.
Last year saw the power go down runs only six, two run scores seventy eight r v I and the batting average run all way down to to one. As Babbitt wasn't as far off as you wanted to be. I like this call. Greg, I like bringing up Kyle Segar. We didn't really talk about him. I think for where you're getting him as your if you get him as your corner infielder, as your utility player, I like it. Man, Again, it's the Mariners bias here. I realized not a lot
of people are gonna like their lineup. You're listening or watching at home, you're probably saying, Kyle Seeger, that's gross. Another guy here who was extremely unlucky. How about this, gregtcent hard hit rate against right handed pitching last year? Yet he had a two oh eight batting average and a six fifty eight OPS with a two twenty five babbitt for Kyle Seeger. Yet at hard hit rate he was unlucky last year. I mean, he's better than what that batting average was. What was it in the two
twenty range. He's a better hit than that. He the hitter, he could hit close to home runs a d r BIS and you're getting him where you are great discount. Yeah, I'd like I like to think so as well. I'd like to think so as well. All right, so you talk about the Mariners lineup, you talk about how you're not super into that or there's bias against I don't say you're worried about I've been getting shares of Mitch Haniger
