You're listening to the Fantasy Sports Radio Network. Listen Do Do Yeah. Now welcome up, bab, your fy Bay from that Spin, your Fine Dive from Sat Francis Frantic stand all ladies and job in your pfs. And with that and we welcome you inside Studio thirty four. This is the BFFs alongside Frank Stafell. I am Greg Suspen Frank. What's going on about? Happy Thursday? The week it's almost over? It feels like this week's going pretty fast. Agreed, having a good time. I honestly felt like this week it

was almost like last week. We had Monday off because it's been going so fast. They didn't feel like we worked a whole four days this week. I couldn't I couldn't agree more. It's flying by. It's fine. Let every week fly by like this, perfectly fine with this, swim away, that's good, pertly fine with that. How are you doing? But how did you sleep last night? I slept. I slept really well. You know, I had to back up early this morning, that didn't do some stuff before the programming. Um,

but I slept really well. I don't believe I woke up in the middle of the night and at all until the alarm went off this morning. But it was good for you know what. You know what it was. I went on the scale this morning and I liked the number that I saw. So after that, I listened to, like listening to like a Live the Killers live all the yesterday and today. I was in a great mood coming to work today. Is Live the Killers a live album that's something that just came out recently. No, it

came out like ten years ago. But the reason I decided to listen to it, I mean, big fan of the Killers, put me in a great mood, like it was awesome. So I'm pretty good mood. Do well, it's good to hear great, Yeah, man, how are you I? I'm doing it right now? And sorry, And tonight Judy is going at dinner with their friends and I make a pass for myself, pad to himself. I feel awesome tonight he's got the penthouse open. Who wants to chill? Who wants to chill? Let's go man, So a bunch

of baseball tonight for you? Great? Like baking championship a bachelorette? Can I watch the Yankees? Yes? All right, solid, Bud? Well, what's going on? What's going on? Everything? I slept well, it was it was a little intoxicated. I I went to a graduation dinner last night and at an Italian restaurant, the Treats he is of Williamsburg. Um. We didn't order any beer. We had a bunch of pictures of sangria.

So I had to settle for that. Not really, I don't like any wine really, but you know what, you have to live with the hand that you were dealt, Greg, and that's what I was doing. So I slept very well after that. Also, this conversation came up about like musical genres that we hate, and I realized it was like everything that you love so opposite track, Greg. I think it's and that's where we're at right now. I think it's what it's been. Talking point was Dave Matthews

band I said, I kid you not. My co host has seen them live over thirty times. I hate them, Greg loves them. Yeah, alright, well coo enough shin. It's funny. So this year they're playing in Camden Father's Day weekend? Uh does Robbie sufsman like he likes? Doesn't love? Rob's actually away? More respect now earned for Rob. He's away, He's not around Father's Day weekend this year. Well, my problem is it's not problems. I'm willing to Judy's your Father's Day weekend, which is fine, but I'd like to

go to Camden to see the show. And Canda's actually closer to Philly where she lives. So I was like Judy, like, what if we went out to your family Friday night, I'll borrow the cars, drive to the concert on Saturday, and then just drive home to drive back to your how Saturday night with your home Father's Day Sunday. All good? What do you think? Did you drive yourself? And I have no interesting I have no interest in going. Yeah, more respect for Jude now too, Let's go. And she's

just here for the Dave Matthews and hate. You know, she went with me to the Garden last year and like that was fine. She doesn't need basically, she doesn't need to go and spend money another concert where I'm just like, oh, this sucks, this sucks, just chocks that songs good? Oh it sucks. She's like, don hearing me and do that. That's what's going on? Is that? Is that the reaction of Greg at Dave Matthews band. I'd say so, yeah, I'd say she's not wrong. You don't

love everything that they do. Know. So is it like a wrestling relationship that you have, Yes, exactly, yeah, like you basically hate most of it? Right, So why do you go? I don't know. I can't talk to you out of it, Greg, whatever, whatever you want to do, bro, what it makes me happy? Right? You know? What makes me sound like it makes you happy? Does make it makes me happy. It makes me happy to be a

miserable fan. That's what a true fan is. I think Greg really have an hour to talk baseball nowadays, So jump in. You want to get right to you said that last night? You said last night that or this morning? One thing you really wanted to talk about from from last night? Was you Darvish, I want to get you the opportunity. Did you do just that? Because I wanted to start with the Cubs in particular, Craig Kimberal. Craig Kimberill signed with the Cubs last night a three year,

forty five million dollars of the guaranteed. He does have an option to make that even larger um in year four. But Kimbrall's going to the Cubs, which means Pedro Strope, Steve c Sheck, Brandon Morrow, They're all useless to you. Now, Kimball could be ready to rock. I read as soon as two weeks from today June, he could be ready to go. Um inside that bull been doing twenty two weeks,

and that's for a reliever. So I think the questions that you brought up the other day about Dallas Kikol are really valid because if that's for a reliever, it takes him two weeks to get ready. I mean, how long is it gonna take Dallas Kaiko to get ready once he signs with the team. Greg, I did want to pose this question to you, and I put it up as a poll today. I'm a Fantasy VFF Twitter. Where where would you rank Craig Kimberell rest of season in terms of closer rankings? Is he, you know, the

normal elite Craig Kimberal's the top five ouption. Is he a a closer one and RP one? Is he like a more of like a top twelve guy or is he outside the top twelve? Where would you rank him right now? He's a really good question. Letally seem like a figure out twelve names. I like more how's that? Let's start there and it does help you too. I have the same leaders up right now, but doesn't matter, Like, like I know we're trying to do top twelve, but like why does it matter if he's in the top

twelve where he's not? I think some people who might have held onto him all year might just want to know what our thoughts are on him moving forward, like rest of season? You know, how do you feel about Craig Kimberall or if someone's trying to like buy low on him right now or make a trade because he's gonna go to the Cubs and they're obviously gonna have the opportunity to win a lot of games. And where does he kind of fit into the mix for everything?

I think people might be trying to wonder if I want to go out there and acquire him, or if I've held onto him. What can I expect from Craig kimberll rest of seas. So we're just a little bit nervous in regards that Kimberroll. Just see what Greg Holland did when he came back was last year where where he signed out, he got released by the Cubs or at least by the Cardinals rather or traded mane with years he was awful and he only missed April, so

or miss sorry spring training, miss March. I'm a little bit nervous about Kimberle. So to answer your question, I will name the relievers I have ahead of him. You could let me know if you disagree, Ready, hers, I agree or all this? Chapman, Kenley, Jansen, yep, Roberto Osuna, Felippe Vasquez, sure, Brad Hand yes, Josh Heater, Yes, it was at six or seven, at seven? Edwin Diaz eight like train in nine, Well tryin it has not been as good to No. Twelve said it's not really his fault. Yes,

that's true. That's probably about it makes sense anybody else for you? No, I mean, look, as much as we love the main green saving machine, he's got one point zero eight e r A. I don't know that we expect that to last the rest of the season. He's got nineteen saves. He's been awesome, but I would probably rank him just behind Kimbera and then everyone else that's

in this mix. You know, Will Smith has thirteen savee so the Giants, he's been awesome, but you traded at some point, like maybe you put dool little ahead of him. That might be the only other name man. Yeah, he got thirteen saves, he's got four wins on the season, he's got three point zero four either A. What about it's another name of kind of mind? What about Ken Giles? I mean, you know, I'm not a Ken Jahs guy. He's been he's been awesome. He's got eleven saves, got

a fifteen k per nine. It seems like he's finally figuring it out. Maybe what he needed was to not be pitching for a contender. Maybe maybe he just didn't you couldn't deal with that type of pressure. But he's been awesome. I think he's probably right in that mix. He's right around there. He's like a low end top

twelve option. I think he's right there. Yeah, I would say like him and Doolittle are like right in that mix, like if you're if you're running up top twelve right so named nine and probably like kimber Will Doolittle, Ken Giles like eleven twelve rounding out the top twelve. Who who was the name that you just said, Jackson, Luke Jackson. No, he's he's like probably high end to like middling RP two closer to in that in that territory. But yeah, I guess I agree with that. I agree with that.

So there you go, Craig kimberll more of like a top ten, you know, back end closer one rest of season. Let's see what the guy's got. But obviously he's been awesome for a long time now. And the Cubs are a good team this year. They're thirty one and twenty six their game and a half out of first place in the NL Central. Is this the best spot that he could have landed in. It's one of them. It's

probably a little bit better than Atlanta. I think the Cubs right now are are a little bit, you know, right on par with Atlanta, maybe a little bit better. You're expecting to win more games or or have more close games, but better than Minnesota. I mean, Minnesota has forty wins on the season. That might have been the optimal spot. He might have had his most save opportunities there, but lands in a really good spot with the Cubs. And you you mentioned you, Darvish, you didn't have a

phenomenal start yesterday. The wheels kind of fell off here for him, but live in the third Endings pitched three hits, three walks, two earned runs, five strikeouts against a really good Colorado Rocky's lineup. And I tweeted this out before the show. If you're into like lying grass and like really nerdy things, it's his cutter usage. His cutter usage

has changed completely from earlier on in the season. His first eight starts, the cutter usage eighteen point one percent a five point four zero e r A during that time. Greg His walks per nine first eight starts of the season for you, Darvish, eight point one zero. That makes Robbie Ray look like Kyle Hendrix. Seriously. Eight point one zero walks per nine. His next five starts the cutter usage up to thirty nine percent. That's up over twenty

percentage points. Cutter usage for you, Darvish, four point to five e r A still not where you want him to be, but at three point five one x fit. And he had thirty four strikeouts in twenty nine and two thirds and he's pitched eleven walks during that time three point three four walks per nine. That's closer to the picture we were expecting you, Darvish to be swinging.

Strike grade is up during that time. The first pitch strike percentage up tremendously from fifty two point six percent in those first eight starts to sixty three percent, so up ten percentage points on the first pitch strike percentage, throwing more strikes, establishing the strike zone early on, getting more swings, and mrs getting people to chase more. And I think a lot of that has to do with the cutter usage. Greg he threw the cutter fifty two

times last night. That is too shy of his career high, which I went all the way back to his rookie season. He was he was throwing, he had a stretch where he threw it a lot like this, over fifty times per game, throwing his cutter. So if you held on too, you, Darvish, Greg, I think it's coming. I think it's coming. So the one thing that I'll say next week to start a week at Colorado at Los Angeles Dodgers doesn't get much

harder than that. But it seems like it's coming around for you, darbish, You Darvish finally making some changes for the good. It looks like he'll be the right and you're gonna want him for that to start week if you are feeling risky the Dodgers, and of course against the Rockies, both in Colorado and in Los Angeles. All right.

Also last night, I'm gonna get get to the Yankees and get to James Paxton, who came up from d L last week or I l rather made a second start back in Toronto here he's home country, and it wasn't very good. He didn't get through five minute he was here. He threw no hitter, I believe that's correct. Four hits, four runs allowed, only three of them earn. The Yankees defense let him down a lot last night, three walks uh four striker as Yankee bullpen was bad,

specifically John and Holder Louis Sessa and Zach Brittain. Admittedly I didn't get to catch this game, Greg was was was it then Frasier who let him down? Specifically susion do anything wrong? Alright? A lot of luke voit prob whom was last night? Oh well, those are gonna rear their ugly head at times, right, Yeah, I mean there were issues. There were labor tores issues last night. It was very annoying. Alright, So not great here for for

James Packson, was there anything that you saw watching him? Greg? Because four and two thirds, I mean outside of the defense behind him, it seems like he didn't get as many swings and mrs strikeouts that he normally does against a team that frankly, I feel like he should be able to dominate. Yeah, I thought the control wasn't where it needed to be last night. You can see that by the three walks he allows that it doesn't really walk many people normally. I just think he had it

in a Honestly, he didn't have it last night. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He still had fourteen swinging strikes on eighty three pitches, so terrible. It was like effectively wild, you know what I mean? But only four strikeouts, but yeah, you're not used to seeing the three walks out of James Paxson and only the four and two thirds endings pitched. You know, I think everyone's ears are gonna perk up a little bit. Let's pay attention here. Is it is he's still dealing

with anything with this many injury. I don't think you don't have any concerned about that. They don't all right, well, it could just be him shaking rust off. That's that seems more accurate the io. Yeah, that makes sense. Yeah, um pa Toronto vladihit or no data. That was awesome for him. Um it was alad my eighth home running the year, right, don't look now the ops up after a really really slow start, and you know, if you look at his zone percentage. I think I mentioned to

see their last week or two weeks ago. He's basically getting the Barry Bonds treatment and he's what twenty years old pictures don't want to pitch to him. It's crazy. I know that he's, you know, one of the top prospects in the game, but really he's getting like Mike Trout, Mike Trout treatment. I was about to say Mike Trout Mint speaking, So I'm glad you bring I'm glad you bring up Mike Trout. So I read a good article today on ESPN about my Trout, how he lasted and

what the Angels did in that draft. So they had like five picks in the top one or something along those lines. They are, including the twenty four overall pick and the twenty fifth overall pick, which would have been the Mets and the Yankees. The Mets gave up with the pick for Frankie Rodriguez. The Yankees get to pick from Mark to Shara, the Angels, and a couple of other picks. Do you know who they took with all

this picks? So Trout went at twenty five and they took him as the second player that chose to try to get the bonus like slightly less. Okay, do you know who they picked it? Twenty four? One minute Peter Borges, No, I have no idea. It's relevance to what we're talking about. Randall Gritchick was there pick at four who took the Yankees deep not once, but twice last night for his eleventh and twelve home runs of the season. Brandon Jury also gonna be of revenge last night, his sixth home

run of the year. Also included in those picks were Tyler Skaggs, who was traded away to the Diamondbacks and then brought back. Interesting one person who I don't remember me, who's never made it, and then the other one was you see here. The other pick was, oh god, I lost it. Now come on, come on, Greg Garrett Richards Richards all right, pretty good? First four? Yeah, pretty good, first four. It was like a break. Virginia Zakis joins us an Inside Injuries coming up next. You guys got from me in how are you doing very well? Fantastic? All right, So we wanted to get into some of the latest injuries and the biggest, one of the most surprising will come out of nowhere. With cars crasher last night. It's scratched from his start and he has something wrong with

his his blood that sounds not so good. What is his injury? What's the deal with Carlos carrasco. Yeah, so I'll start by saying, we really have no idea what's going on here. Um, we have a few things that we think could be going on, but you know, they want to wait until he feels comfortable and his family feels comfortable revealing exactly what this blood condition is. UM,

we do know he's out in definitely. UM. They're hopeful he's going to be able to return later in the season, but it sounds like this is going to be something that takes multiple months for him to recover from. UM. You know some examples of a blood condition that could cause a player to miss this much time. UM could be something like leukemia or another sort of blood cancer like my aloma. UM, it could be a bone mirror disease.

Any of these things could make you feel lethargic, which is sort of what he's been experiencing over the last few weeks. UM. Of course those sound very scary, and they are, UM often very treatable. But Yeah, unfortunately, right now, we really don't know what's going on, and I don't think we're gonna know for sure until UM. I think it's gonna be a while before they, you know, really

reveal exactly what's going on with Carrasco. It's crazy because we talk like yesterday, Frank, how my clements your story, rehab assignment, Corey Klumer, like things are kind of looking up for him, and then boom, another starter for Cleveland goes down. If your regas hits the I L and now Carlos Carrasco as well. It seems like it's been the story of the season here for the Cleveland Indians, been dealing with so many injuries. But you know, shout

out to Carlos Carrasco. Our thoughts and prayers go out to him. I hope everything is all right and he can have a speedy recovery. But I think this, you know, it sounds like a pretty good reason as to why, you know, he might not have been living up to our expectations so far this year from a fantasy perspective. So I hope that everything can get right for Carlos Carrasco. Virginia,

we saw a slugger go down last weekend. We haven't been able to talk to you guys since since then, but Joey Gallo, you know, going down with this oblique injury. And I know recently we were talking with Dr Ray and I asked him straight up. You know, with guys like Stanton and Aaron Judge, are these guys just too big for their own good? Are they too strong for their own good? And they swing the back too hard

which leads to these oblique injuries. And I think Joey Gallo is kind of in that category because he's such a mammoth of a human being. Is this a similar oblique strain to Aaron Judge? Because it seems like Aaron Judge has been out forever. Can we expect Joey Gallo to be out as long as Aaron Judge? Yeah, this one doesn't sound quite as serious, but you just never know what oblique strings. Um, these injuries they nag, they

take forever to heal. Um, And you think it's pretty moud and you can come back within a few weeks, and then you know we're five six weeks down the road like we are with Judge and he's still not ready to come back. Um. But like you said, Gallo is definitely one of those guys. He creates a lot of torque with his upper body, which you know leads to these oblique strings. And unfortunately it's just a pretty

common injury for these power hitters. Um. The good news here is we are showing a three week optimal recovery time because this sounds relatively mild. Um, whereas Judge was, I believe six weeks, So hopefully by around June twenty one, we think he'll be ready to come back right now. The team is hopeful he can come back in around fourteen days. I think it's gonna be a little longer than that. Um, it almost always is with these injuries. But you know, hopefully this isn't as as serious as

Judge and he can return within the next few weeks. Alright, Greg, So some good news there doesn't sound as bad as Aaron Judge three weeks if we get him back, you know, June's twenty one or around there late June. Do you think there's any Chancey just hold them out until we all Star break. I think it's probably no they can, but believes are really tricky, and as we've seen with Judge, they've been very very careful with him ramping up uh,

finally ramping up the rehab with Judge. You could be back as soon as June twenty one, I believe, is when the Yankees head to London to play the Red Sox. That was a date that's been rumored. So it basically almost be a full two months that Judges out with his eight weeks or so. UM. Hopefully it's not as serious with Gallup, but they're gonna take their time and they don't want to reinjure this because that tork could

very very well reinjure him. Uh so they want to be very very careful, so don't be eight weeks, but it won't be anytime soon. I think when it comes to Joey Gallup, Tommy has on the round field. It's been out for about a week now, Virginia missed entire weekend series, but most the first couple of days of the latest race series. He expects me back in the lineup today. What was originally just backshortness is now not really backshortness. Sorry you broke up for a second. Here'd

you ask about? We're asking about Tommy Fam. He's been out of the line up for a while. As we said, it wasn't really it was backstortness, so we said, but then not really. I think now it's like his calf or something. Yep, yep, got it. Um. Yeah, so we're actually showing a soft tissue injury. I've got good news and bad news here. Soft tissue least severe injury, um, not too serious. Usually the optimal recovery time is around one week, which is the case for Fam. Um. So

it sounds like he could be back today. Um, which our algorithm is saying is sort of right on track. The bad news here, his injury risk is still high at that is very concerning. Umcent is to cut off to go from elevated risk to higher risk. So he's twenty percent above that. That's huge, and that's even though he's just hit his healthy to return date. Other bad news here his health performance factor is poor at thirty six percent. So these injuries you're talking about, um, well,

you know, his back wasn't too serious. This what we think is a little capstrain isn't too serious. Um, we think it's enough that it's really going to hurt his performance. And on top of that, he's at a very high risk of getting hurt, um, whether it's aggravating one of his existing injuries or suffering a new injury just because his body isn't ready to go. So Tommy Fam who's had injury issues in the past, Frank says he's a thousand percent of playing today. Who knows that will be

as consistent that he wanted to be in the lineup. Yeah, and with Tommy Fam, you know, I loved him coming into the season. Awesome power speed combination. But this is what we always have to deal with when it comes to Tommy Family, he gets all these nagging injuries throughout the course of the season. Had his issue, had the issues with his eyes a couple of years ago as well.

So it sounds like from this report from Virginia that you know, once he comes back, if he puts together a few pretty good games in a row, and you should probably look into shopping to see what you could get, because I would imagine you could probably get like a top twenty, top twenty five outfielder in return for Tommy Fam via someone who broke out. So far this year,

he's been awesome for fantasy owners. Has been huntered Dozer. Now, it seems like a week ago, maybe a couple of weeks ago, now he was diagnosed with a something with his thorax. I have no idea what a thorax is, but it turns out that this is a chest injury. What do you have on hunter dojor how long is he expected to be out? Yeah, so he was placed on I l M eligible to return June tenth, I believe, and he's expected to return around that date. Um, we're

showing that that's actually pretty realistic. Um, he's an elevated injury risk. Right right now, this really seems like it's just muscle tightness in his chest. Hopefully not you know, a strain, but it could could be a very mild strain. Um right now, his held performance factor is also below average. It's six, but he's pretty close to that cut off getting back into the above average category. UM. I think

that could actually happen within next week or so. UM So, not not too concerned here, but this is one of those cases. It was smart of them to place him on the aisle, give him a few extra days to rest, make sure this doesn't turn into something a little more serious, but he should be good to go pretty soon after

he's eligible to return. Please please be alright, Hunter Dozer, because Greg, he's been one of the breakout hitters so far from fantasy this year, and I think a lot of people are depending on him now to be their corner infielder utility, whatever it might be, maybe even starting third basement. He's been a godsend. We need him to be healthy. Hopefully he comes back he's ready to rock and gets back in the fantasy owner's ladups sooner rather

than later. Mats John went on the I l this week, and it's not one of these pictures Frankie that kind of out of nowhere Zac Efflyn last week, Matt Strong this week. How serious this is injury? And Matt Strong here engineer. Yes, they're calling it a left rim strain. We actually think it's something called castro chondritis, which means there's inflammation where the upper ribs joined with the cartilage near the stern um. Um. Hopefully you know, nothing too serious.

But again we are showing a three week optimal recovery time for a Grade one injury. Um, they don't expect him to miss much more than the minimum ten days. Hopefully he does miss more than that, but we think that, you know, the last week in June or so, he should be ready to return. Matt Strong was someone who gained a lot of helium during draft season, greggy, and so at this point he's been all right. He's been adequate.

He's got a four point zero three e r A. I feel like that's creeped up a little bit recently, but he's been he's been pretty good for fantasy purposes. So hopefully, um, you know, he'll be all right and not expected to miss all that meant all that much time, you know, two to three weeks whatever it might be. So Matt, we'll see what happens. Hopefully in Virginia. I want to ask you about Charlie Blackman, who went on

the I l over the weekend. He's dealing with a calf injury right now, set to go on a rehab assignment starting yesterday, so it seems like he's getting pretty close to returning already. It seems like this was a pretty mild calf strain. What does the algorithm say is that is an accurate timetable for him to return this quickly. So we are showing that this is a mild calf strain. We have it as a Grade one UM, but that

still comes with a three week offtim recovery time. UM. We've seen so many guys over the last few years, you know, guys like Donaldson, now black Men, quite a few others that have these calf injuries. They think they're healed, they come back, and then right away they either aggravate it or they suffer another injury. UM, likely because they're overcompensating. Um. Black Men really should not return this week, even though it sounds like he's going to we're showing that the

earliest he should return is around June. UM. He's still high risk at and his HPF is below average at UM. Also, the calf is an explosive muscle, so really every single motion he's going to make, whether he's batting or whether he's in the outfield, making cuts, sprinting, rounding the basis, everything puts a lot of stress on that calf UM. So it's very easy to aggravate UM. So he really should not come back, but it sounds like he's going to right. I'm a little worried here about Charlie Blackman

one year older. He's thirty two years old. He's not a spring chicken anymore. And it seems like these injuries are more likely to flare up with guys who are a little bit more advanced. That's the term I used. But Josh Jnaldson, we saw that happen to him. And you know, Charlie Blackman relies a little bit more on his legs. He doesn't steals any basis as he used to. But you know, he's he's out there playing center field and he's running around a lot. I'm a little worried here, Man,

and I think you're very right to be. And there are fantasy owners and fantasy drafters that felt this way about Charlie Blackman right that, like, look as been awesome batting average ten homers. He watched the speed decline, and you know, the injuries do pile up, and as players get into their thirties, you get more cautious about them. I think Charlie Blackman is one of those natives. I think you have every right to be nervous going forward.

I really do. Yeah, But you know what, he's one of the guys that, even while he's injured, Gregg, I still feel like you get a really good return because Colorado exposure to that lineup he leads off as well. Like even if you tried to trade him now, I feel like you can still get like a top fifteen outfielder for him, or maybe even wait until he returns to get like a top fifteen outfielder. And so probably something I would look into. I I worry about this

flaring up again. Sounds like he's returning too soon. By all accounts from from Virginia, we're tellingly Virginia Zak is all of inside injuries in Virginia. One name who has not played all season long. He's been Justin Upton. The Angels finally got back show Otani as a designated hitter. Intania has been finally getting high connected home running the last couple of days. You can see his strokes back. He's finally got his rhythm back, which is good to see.

But they'd love to add Justin Upton to this lineup. When could they expect him back? Yeah, so he was originally given an eight to twelve week timeline. UM. He's progressing, expected to take live VP this week. UM. He's been fielding grounders and reportedly running at full speed UM, which is actually a very big deal when coming back from turf toe. UM. He also had a knee injury early on it spring training, but it sounds like he's past that injury. UM. We are still showing though that he

has not quite reached his optimal recovery time. He's about a week away. UM. Even so, his injury risk is high at fifty And remember I just mentioned that the cutoff for high risk is so he's way above that. UM. So you know, pretty much he should He should be ready to start a rehab assignment, hopefully within the next

few weeks. But because he hasn't played it all this season, they really need to bring him along slowly, you know, have him play a game, take a day off, um slowly work back into back to back games and make sure his toe and the rest of his body is responding well before they activate him. The season seems like it might just be a wash for Justin Upton greg And it's unfortunate because I'm a big just Optic fan.

I loved him since he's entered the league, But it seems like his risk for re injury is is very high. He's gonna slowly get work back in, Like maybe we don't even see him as an everyday player until after the All Star breaks, so maybe then, maybe then is like the time when he start to take off second half of the season, Like if you could buy him super low or someone drops him in your league, like

that's what you can look forward to. But I'd be surprised if he contributes much, if anything, before the second half of the season. Ready. Obviously, the big news that came out this week, along with Carlos Carrasco Virginia, was the injury to Andrew McCutchen. Very unfortunate one of the really really nice guys in baseball. Another one of my favorites as well, Tour his A c L. We don't normally see a c L injuries as often in baseball

as we do in other sports, basketball and football. But and we expect him right now, it's it's June six. Can we expect him to be ready for, you know, the start of next season spring training when it comes around and let's say March. Does that seem like a realistic timetable for Andrew mc cutchen. Yeah, A lot of it depends on if it's an isolated a c L tear or if there's any other ligament damage or damage to the meniscus. UM reports so far adjustment to the A c L, but a lot of the time you

don't really know until he undergoes surgery. Um, if it's an isolated a c L tear, he has a pretty good shot at being ready to go by opening day next season. UM. But either way, they're going to have to bring him along very slowly at spring training, UH, being very careful with him. UM. He also did tear his opposite a c L in high school, and unfortunately, once you tear one a c L that increases your risk of tearing the opposite one, even though it's been

what ten plus a years since that happened. Um, So unfortunately, this is just a prime example of of how difficult it can be. Um, you know, when you've already torn one a c L and it was just you know, a freak non contact thing. That's how this happens a lot of the time. So right now we're just hopeful it's an isolated a c L tear if that's the case,

and no setbacks along the way. Um. Usually the recovery time is around nine months, so opening day is realistic, all right, So there's some some good news for Andrew mccaton owners. I know he's you know, this is the twilight of his career, greggy, but if you took him in Dynasty, you still expect, you know, some run scored. He's not the player that he used to be, but he was doing some nice things for Fantasy. Just a call of more names. He gets you here with Virginia

Zakis and we get you now. Athan Eovaldi was one of your guys ran coming into this year him alone with his teammate Edward Rodriguez. We expected big things from and then Evaldi got hurt. Hurt. That elbow once again hits the I L what should we expect him back? Yeah, so the reports are saying he could be back by mid to late June. I really really hope they do not bring him back that soon. UM. He underwent surgery

on April to remove loose bodies from his elbow. They expected him to miss around six weeks, which we said was way too short. UM. He also underwent a similar surgery last March UM and returned to the rotation around two months later. UM. Of course, the team said that last year they were being extra cautious because he was coming back from his second Tommy John surgery. UM. That means he's now had four elbow surgeries. That is a lot. So even though surgery to remove a loose body usually

isn't that big of a deal. UM, there's so much going on in his elbow and there's clearly a reason he keeps having issues UM and needs to have these loose bodies removed. UM. He really should not return before the All Star break, and we're actually saying that he should wait until August five. That's obviously not going to happen, but we don't think his elbow is going to be fully recovered until then. Wow, you describe to the people

what this is. I believe that Frank is throwing up an L. That's an L. I will take that L. When it comes to Nathan eol Loser Virginia, we only have a minute left, real quick. When it comes to Buster Poldy dealing with this right hamstring train, someone I didn't like coming into the season because he had the hip surgery. Um, what what is the optimal recovery time when it comes to Buster Posey, Yeah, it's just two

weeks for this hamstring strain. Uh, he underwent an m R. I did show a mild strain, but unfortunately, coming back from such a serious surgery on his hip injury, injuries like this are very common. Um, it's just tough for your entire body to fully recover following something like that. And of course playing catcher, he's putting so much stress on his lower body UM every single day, so he's high risk six. But I don't think this injury alone is going to be a long term thing. Yeah you

heard that downstairs. So on lost the Mackia. It seems like you're gonna need a new catcher in the pit league. It's not looking good for busted posts. Regina appreciated the time. We'll see you next week. I think, awesome. All right, break we'll come back. Well, it's wenty more minutes ago. Yeah, some guys that like, not that we forgot about, but just like recognize how good they were in the second one of the radar lu Don not even fluent Barado like lu Don Check and Trey young Row awesome in the second half. Zach Levine's one of the guys that flew in the radar. He was amazing in the second half. We'll getting to him as well as some other players

as well. But before we get to you all, we want to remind you that you gotta put your money with your mouth is. Frank, how was that? It was? Cool? Man?

You should have put in our best bets forever you could have. You could have became rich grade correct. We had the pirates to win out right, that happened. Big looked much better last night. And of course Kevin Gausman sucks as he always does. And what do you have? I Jimmy Nelson. We should talk about Gimmy Nelson, see you, Jimmy, we're talking about it. We should know about Himyson. All right, Uh, what days before yesterday, I thought there was you know,

normal rust here. He only went three innings. He ended up throwing sixty five pitches, so it wasn't very efficient with his pitches, only got two strikeouts, had three walks, gave up a home run as well to Brian Anderson. I thought he looked rusty overall. So you know, we told you yesterday, don't put him in your lineup yet even though you did. Um no, I didn't. That's not for you to know. But he only had five swinging strikes yesterday on sixty five pitches. Was a lot of

four steamers thirty one four seamers, twenty eight curveballs. The four steamers sat ninety two point four miles per hour. So I'm actually gonna pull up what his what his velo was in twenty event teen, So we kind of compare and contrasts a little bit here. So in Jimmy Nelson's basketball velocity was ninety three point nine, so he's got he's got a little bit of a way to go, but I'm sure he's gonna build that arm strength back up.

Still excited about Jimmy Nelson, but I think these first couple of times through the rotation, you leave him on your bench. Hopefully he gets better and he'll earn our trust and then we can get him back in our lineups. But for now I would leave him on the bench and until he until he gets things going great. The Jimmy Nellison hype training was out of control and he spread yesterday. I mean we said that like seventy months crazy. It was crazy. Shere had our best bets right now?

Should we wait talking about betting? So let me let me I'll do this, take your time with the best bets. I just want to say this. So my initial best bet for today, it was like a no brainer was Patrick Corbyn in San Diego because the air minus one oh four, the Patricks are minus one twelve. And I honestly think the more I look at this Frank sucker beat, sucker beat and you're getting suckered in, I'm not gonna do it because I don't want to be suckered in.

I think it's a sucker beat. Why is that? Because I think people see Patrick Corbyn. You see the gnats and you're like, no brainer, easy. The problem is what I don't think the general public realizes. Do you know what Patrick Corbyn's road et r A is as good as he's been this year? Do you know what it is? I don't know, but I will guess um five and a half four point nine six, four point nine six on the road this year? Thirty two winnings pitch. Did you know that San Diego has a better record than

the Washington Nationals? I didn't know that. I didn't know that Washington haven't been great. I don't know what the public knows that. I think this is a sucker bat, I really do. Or are they hoping that you do all this research and that you inception yourself or let's say bet sception maybe a new uh maybe a new segment grade exception exception, so like a line that is so confounding that you start thinking one way and then you find yourself thinking too much and it's and it's

bet sception. Maybe that's what they're getting. Maybe that's atption, But overall you don't like this game. I like you probably touch that was my first it's downstairs. You were like a corbett. And maybe I'm talking to myself out of it. Maybe I'm being stupid, but I think it's a sucker bat the more I look at it. So, do you have something else that you like? Wait, I'm gonna wait till the towards the end of the show to reveal that. But yes, there is something else that

I like. I think that one is a sucker bat? Is that reasonable? Apostle's I think it makes sense. I think I think you're going down the correct rabbit hole right now. I hope. So I'm not trying to like overthinking things, but I feel good about that. Washington also play yesterday in Washington made the cross country flight. Now that they played played yesterday afternoons. It's okay, But I like san Diego. Now you like san Diego. I'm not touching its sucker I'm not touching it. It's a sucker

bets been on. I mean, I guess I like san Diego. I'm telling you it's sucker bet on Washington. So, yes, I like san Diego. I mean, you don't have to bet every game. You could just be a sucker bet and you could just say stay away. That's what it sounds like. You're saying, I'm trying to say, don't bet on Washington. Okay, That's what I'm trying. So he's not telling you too bet on San Diego, but he's telling you not to bet on Washington. But it sounds like

something that I would just stay away from completely. Okay? Is there anything else we need to hit on from last night before we move into all our best best forever? What are people asking? You can argue that we buried the lead here? Is that Chris Suh No Sale, he was amazing last That's the lefty you want to go with. Yes, there was two lefties at through complete games, and you want to talk about Chris Sale, Dude? Jason Varne's that would be a five hits shutout, Greggy, Crystal eight strikeout?

Better than that is right now? Down to three point five seven, Gregg higher, that's actually lower than Christal's exactly. Chris Sale? Who who whoo? Jason Vargas is the real story here, Greg? We'll talk about both of these guys. Let's do Vargus first. Yes, because we don't have a choice. There's nothing to talk about, is there? What I'm talking about? Is there no fantasy relevance? When it comes to him, you know, only because he has a rotation spot in

the right matchup in a fifteen team mixed league. Like. I actually liked him this week going up against San Francisco, and I said the two downstairs Greg, If Jason Vargas, who averages an eighty five mile fastball, rose a five hits shutout against the Giants with eight strikeouts, what does that say about Noah Syndergarden. Seriously, just because one person has a good game, that means it's not just a

good game. Though. We're talking to five hits shutout from Jason Vargas who has an eighty five mile hour fastball on average, you at average, like, and we're getting a complete game shut out from Jason Vargas. No, I don't have interested in him in twelve team leagues again, and only you know, maybe fifteen teams in the right matchup. This was the right matchup for him. So if you had him in your line up for this one, god bless you. That is awesome. But anything shallower than that,

I'm out on Jason Vargus. The e r RA is three point five seven, his x fib is over five, so not much to see here. With Jason Vargins. Okay, fair enough. What about Chris Sale, who would have to a three it shutout last night? Twelve strike and I was including an immaculate inning. He was fantastic. He's back bity, Yeah, he is. I don't feel so bad anymore about taking Chris Sale over Garrett Cole at this point, Greggy, is there this particular start in your mind that stands out

as the one where Chris Sale really got going? Greg? No, is the one that is one for you? Because I'll go with his first double digit strikeout game of the season, that was against the Tigers back on April. He went five innings pitching that start, he had ten strikeouts. So let's see what his numbers look like from then on because we can kind of pinpoint that as all right, that's when the velocity started up taging. That's when the swinging strikes started coming around. Greg. So are you ready

for this? Yes? You ready for Chris Sales numbers over his last two four, six eight nine starts. For Chris Sale, that would be a two point four three e R A two point to zero five, A two point four seven xfit fourteen point five six case per nine two point one two walks per nine seventy four point six percent left on base percentage, which right in line with league to sixty four Babbitt, which seems sustainable. For Chris Sale ninety six strikeouts and fifty nine and a third

ending's pitched. I think he's back. I think so. I think I think so. If you had any question marks about Chris Sale, you don't anymore. Joe Madden said it's normally three weeks in spring training for a releaf picture to be ready. That's what he expects for Craig Kimball. Three weeks, weeks, three weeks in today's June. Is he a top twelve option? Then gosh, man, it's like yeah once he starts pitching. But it seems like this guy is never gonna pitch. So, Greg, if Dallas Kiko signs,

when when is he gonna pitch? After they all start break? I think it's Ben's weary signs, right. Like how desperate a team is Yankees with all their injuries. They're pretty desperate, they are, but they could. I mean, they've they've been piecing it together. Chance Adams, by the way, Greg, why why do they hate Chance Adams? They do? I don't.

I don't, although I don't mind him like starting in Triple A rather than sitting the bullpen like David Hell, why don't you do the opener with Chance Adams makes some sense. Have Shane Green, I mean, I got chan Green on the mind, the main Green saving machine. How can I not have Chad Green open a game? Let

Chance Adams go five innings? They did that once, and I think he came in later on in a game and he like would have been eligible for a saving close out like the final three innings of the game. But this year in Triple A, how did I see Adams at three point three five yar A, one point one four whip, two strikeouts and forty three innings sixteen walks. The whip is good, the e r a is solid, and he got off to a really slow start too. I don't know, man, not not really sure what they're

thinking when it comes to, uh, the Chance Adams sea. Yeah, I mean last year he regressed big time. Four point seven ar a nings pitch. But even if you have him throw, you know, four five innings as a follower, a lot of jail and beaks. I think that makes a lot of sense for the yankees I, I haven't done it. Greg very analytically driven nowadays, very much so Frankie very much. So what else? Last night we have to sign off YouTube? We do if we do that,

probably all right. I think they gotta set up. We're gonna sign on YouTube now at the window with Sean Washstabakia is coming up next. Sean, I had to covered all afternoon. Longest continues the conversation, So stay tuned for Sean. We're back tomorrow for the Friday edition of the program Sit the Best Bet Forever. Hopefully we have Florio tomorrow. Yeah, it'll be cool. Yeah, that's right, and he does that.

It's Friday, It's Florio Friday. We gotta get that song going tomorrow as well, Okay, so that everyone can hate us again. Robin's gonna yesterday We talking about that? Yeah, that was I had that on the rundown. I started making a run down and day gave up on it. But I wrote The New York Mess, the story of Robinson Cano. Robin's gone ran hard and read your squad, well, you don't see him run hard very often. This is probably why shout out to it was Brad Ziegler wasn't

it who said this about Robinson Canoe. Yeah, he said, how do we know that Robinson Canoe hasn't been taking performance enhancing drugs his entire career and he got caught last year. When he came back, the numbers were still really good. That's why I personally was still in on Robinson Canoe this year. I thought he could be a good a good source of batting average, you know, home runs, some RBI, some runs scored in the middle of this mess lineup. But I think he's getting exposed a little

bit here. Greg. I think maybe using performance enhancing drugs might have been what was keeping and Robinson Cano healthy for all those years. The Iron Man quote unquote, So shout out to Brad Ziegler. Great great called by him, who I believes on the air right now Live with Kraig mission anymore. He's no longer no longer there. It's time of the Fantasy Best Bets Forever, sponsored by US. Get a picture in me because you'll win money. Sponsored

by US. Sustan Frank Stafell. We're sponsoring it, Greg for now. We were too early yesterday, is that correct? Yeah? Greg, We just keep crushing it in terms of our baseball bets. I mean, we have to go back and look at how well we did in terms of prop goes the Weasel. I feel like we did it right though. We did very well, very well. We did very well. But in our baseball bets, specifically this week, Greg, we are six and two. That's pretty damn good. Six and two. All right,

let's make it at least seven. Let's make it at least eaten too that maybe one than that. Have you found something that tickles your fancy grid. There's only one that starts in twenty minutes. That's a little opening to me. Alright, so not really useful. Use it. Use it for the you can use it for like the record. I'll use it for the record. I like the over and the Reds and the Cardinals. People listening on demand at this point the over in the Reds and the Cardinals nine

and half Anthony, I like the over. I like the over. I like as I said, I think the sucker bets and Nats and the Padres is a sucker bet right there, absolutely sucker. Don't be a sucker. Don't be a sucker. Don't take the Nats and take the Nuts. Anything else you you like I'll jump in now if you jump in, all right, So I'm gonna go with I'm gonna go with Jay Happ and Edwin Jackson our New York Yankees.

But for once, I'm not taking a side. I'm actually taking the total here, Greg, I like going over the

nine and a half runs here. Edwin Jackson has something like a thirteen e r A. Jay Happ has not been great so far this season as well, and the Blue Jays do have a lot of right handed bats in their lineup that can make some noise looking at you, Vladim mcgireo Jr. So even if the Yankees win, which they're expected to do, their minus one ninety favorites in this game, Jay Hap could still give up three four runs and Yankees are in a pretty good spot here

to put up a monster game against Edwin Jackson. I think they go over the number at nine and a half. Greg, I'll get another over run there. You're not gonna like this one though, all right. He's do not tell me that you're going up under the Rangers and Oreos. I'm not going under the Rangers in oos. It's it's just as bad though that we're about to do Ringing endorsement here for Greg it is, but don't take Greg's back tonight,

take mine. I don't love what I am about to tell you, but I'm taking I'm taking the over and the twins and the Indians. It's Bower versus Barrios, and I'm taking the over. Sneaky. I think it's sneaky. You look at what Trevor Bower has done is last five starts, seven runs, four runs, four runs and six runs over At the Vandal Sports Book, the over is minus one D so most people it might be the public, though,

be the public that's looking at it. But I like the over and the twins in the Indians toime, that's the favorite, right now. That's it. That's the best bet forever. Over the twins Indiens that that wouldn't surprise me at all. And then over in the Indians. Indians bullpen outside of brad Hand is not great either. There you go. That's the best bet forever, Frank, all right, we'll see what happens. We will. Let's see here burials for his career not as good on the road as he is at home.

So I took barriers. I took barriers last week in Tampa over the weekend. On Friday, I texted you I was shocked that he was an underdog in Tampa and you did not say it on the air, but I did texted to you. I have the evidence. So I loved it. This week against Bower, You're like, oh, let's be a low scoring game. The total doesn't make it seven. It's not one of these like seven and a half totals. I would have been all over the over. Then eight and a half does make me question a little bit,

but I'm still going over that number. Yeah. Look, Trevor Bauer has struggled with allowing home one of the Minnesota Twins zoa in bunches, and he's he struggled with commands. So next thing, you know, walks a few guys here, boom bang bom rerun dinger for the Minnesota Twins, and there you go. You already got three runs of them exactly. Um, wouldn't surprise me. What's Zac Wheeler? Update? Do? Do? Do? Do? Do? Do?

Zach Wheler update? Zero's across the board. Let's go to pitch zero hit zero earned run zero, walks three strikeouts, which means he's due to give up a grand Slam to Sin and another update Chris Archers. Aren't a lot of run things going great. Freddie Freeman over against them. I'll take that. Let's take a break for the next twenty three hours. Shogloss the Mokia is up next for Franks Stample. I'm growing sousman. Have a great afternoon. We'll

see tomorrow. We couldn't catch the live show. Make sure to download our podcast at the v n T S Y Sports Network Audio Boom channel oh
