You're listening to the Fantasy Sports Radio Network. Fantasy best Friends Forever. M Do to Do Do Do Do Do Do Do Do Do Do Do do do it too. Yeah, as as the Fantasy best Friends Forever. Here in the Fantasy Sports where you're not work alongside Frankie Stample. I am Greg Sa. I's been what's going on about reggae? Thank god? It's Thursday. It's almost Friday. The NBA is back? Is it weird? It feels like a long week. It was over just day three. Try being here last. It's

just day three. I came off a week off. Feels like a long pass week. Man. The NBA is back tonight. It was supposed to be maybe it still might be Opening day in training. There's supposed to be a game at three PM between the Mariners and the Oakland A's, But as of now, I got an update from our good buddy, former best friend forever, Michael Florio that it's raining in Arizona. So in Arizona. What is he in Arizona? I don't think so he just let you know that.

I don't know. He probably gets like the whole like West coast like weather up. He asked if it was raining in Baltimore right now. You know Baltimo watched the weather, if we watched the weather on the news, like what kind of see like the East coast stuff, like you would never realize that in Florida Spring bays in Florida. Maybe he was consciously paying a tend the Arizona because he wants to watch the spring training game, which you know you'll get like an ending of Marco Gonzalez and

then like who knows what? Cool dude? Now. I was kind of excited though, like actually had this day like marked off. I have on my calendar at home Saturday, Yankee spring training opens the calendar. What time is the game start? One o'clock against the Red Sox. It's a rivalry game. Greg yes, yes, the first broadcast is Monday.

It's probably it's probably not even televised, but hey man, we're gonna before before you know it, we're gonna have some box scorers to look at in terms of some spring training baseball stuff, so that will be a lot of fun. Uh, you know, to the surprise of nobody, Diane Williamson does not play baseball. So I don't think that we're gonna be talking about him today unless you have a little something something that you want to We'll

be talking about him later on the NBA Fantasy Our. Uh, we can't really say, well, you can say right now about um. You know, listen, I think it's I think all the Nike memes today are hilarious, um and deserving, is it? Definitely, dude, If this happened to any shoe brand, any if it happened to like a jersey or something that wasn't Nike, or if this happened to anybody, they'd

be getting roasted. It's not just because it's Nike. It does happen to anybody, Like, dude, Nike is supposed to be the forefront of like athletic shoe apparel, and this guy tore through his shoe, like just ripped a little bit. This whole foot went through this shoe. Greg, something, what's up? Did you tear through your shoes? Seing of shoes? Right, well, yesterday we had the we had the male so I have it, so it's you have these Greg's shoe weeks.

I have these, right, So honestly, the whole Zion thing happens yesterday. Right. I put my shoes on this morning and this thing is ripping a part. That's what I looked to find out if they were Nike. They are not, um, but I was just like, is it really a huge Nike thing? Like I actually could have happened to anyone, Dude, this That's what I'm saying. It could have happened to anyone if he was wearing Puma shoes or Didas or

under armed. It wasn't. But that's why I say it's deserving though, Like it could have happened to anybody, like any brand, and if it did, we'd be roasting all those people too. Probably a little bit more so because it's Nike and they're like the face of everything that's kind of like sports apparel obviously sneakers, and they have like this deal with Duke and stuff and um, yeah, I mean look just real quickly with Ian Williamson. I mean it was obviously, uh it sucked what happened last

night to him? Um, you know, I want to make sure that he's wanted to send healthy. I know, Knicks fans are gasping everywhere because like, that's the most nixed thing ever to happen, where it's like, you know, a generational talent coming out as the first overall pick, No, the most next thing ever fish Finally, after two decades, finished with the worst record the NBA only fourteen percent

chance of winning the lottery. That's the most nixt thing ever. Yes, that too, But the fact that it looks like they're going to get the number one overall pick the same chance they there's the freaking magic whatever were the calves or whatever. They still have have a better shot this year than they've had ever before in the past decades, even though they always suck. So a lot of people are gett excited about Zion and of course he gets hurt.

And I actually I tweeted it out last night, Craig I said, even a drink, even if he did get even if he were hurt and like it was a serious injury. I still think he should go number one overall. Look at Joel Embiid. I also I don't think I tweeted it out, but I also was thinking the same thing. I was like, oh, maybe here's a little drops with the Nicks get like three, I'll be there that beol. Yeah, I mean it's unfortunate. Look a lot of NBA players

coming out and showing their support of him. You shouldn't play another game, uh at Duke so on and so forth. Um, look, I can't disagree. I mean, the guys he's got, he's got insurance policy, but he wants to make money obviously going into one of these top picks in the NBA draft,

So I can't blame him one. I think, you know, regardless of what he does, if he wants to come back, or even if he doesn't, I would support his decision because I mean, you kind of gotta put yourself in his shoes here unintended, but I think I think if you do that, you'd you'd easily be able to see that. Yeah, you want to be there with your teammates, you want to help them out, but it is also like your livelihood like the rest of your life, so you can't

really put that at stake. Let's see what happens. It doesn't look like it looks like he avoided a very serious injury. It's a mild niece. Range has doctor right. Oh, that would have been good asking about baseball stuffasking about

testicular virginia. Here you talk email Virginia. So outside of Duke and Zion Williamson, we are going to be previewing the second base position today, which you know, the three positions that we've we've chosen to do to start with here the catcher, first base, and second base positions are probably the three week So here you go. Here your your position preview shows for Fantasy baseball this year. We're starting off with the three weakest positions, but we're gonna

try and see how far we could get. I think yesterday we spoke for about two hours. We got like fifteen first baseman done. That's pretty good. Pretty good this year. Like outfields just a little bit, dude. Next next week it's outfield weeks week pretty much. Because you know, I kind of started my rankings last night and I have like a hundred and five first basement listed I've gone about like that's too many first basement. It's not it

seems like too many a hundred and five. Right, there's thirty teams in baseball, and there's three outfluders on every team. That's nine first basement, I mean outfields. That makes more sense. A hundred five first basement I did. I did about thirty five to forty at like regular positions. I think I have liket. I was like, what are you talking about? I don't even know if there are a hundred and five first basement between like and the majors. I don't know if I can find a hundred like hundred uh,

you know, first base eligible players. But yeah, we're gonna talk about second based position today. Um, I don't know you is there anywhere specific you wanna you want to start at the top, like overall thoughts of the position? Well, you know, it's actually want to I think it's a pretty shallow position. Well actually I always want to at the start of the top and then kind of kind of work our way down. And it's funny because we talked a lot last week, earlier this week or last

week tweet whatever, we talked about hosale to. But we didn't ask your show two weeks ago. So we spoke about jose Aw and he scared because I was here on Hosale two man, and then DR scared the f

out of me. So hey, that's what he's here for totally. Um. So the question now as I look at NFBC A DP through the month of February, and the question becomes, you know the ADP s how Bias and Hosale two going back to back, they are is there a case to be me that Hive A Bias should go before Joseale to bay Well, yeah, based on last year's production,

but it's not just last year's production production. We're projecting forward here with with Javier Bayas and I think if you asked, we are confirmed talking about John Williamson with DR now he's sick. Uh. I think if you ask the average fantasy baseball player, maybe even the high stakes player, because I spoke a little bit with Matt Modica about this, if you had to choose one player that's going inside the top fifteen, which player kind of scares you the most?

And unfortunately these two are probably it's the second base position. It's Javier bayez Lo. Was that his career year that we just saw it, I mean, very well could be. He was other worldly last year. You know, he he was in he was in the conversation for the for the National League MVP, and rightfully so, he was out of this world good. I mean, thirty four home runs. You can't find a better five to a player than what he was last year. Javier Bias four one oh

one runs, eleven RBIs one stolen basis person. I can't really argue with that. Is that gonna end up being his career year. That's really what it comes down to. And you know, I have some of my concerns. You know, I expressed my concerns with Javier Bias heading into last year, and I think I've just kind of a scepted that this is who Javier by is is and he's going to be able to overcome his swinging strike issues and and his strikeout rate issues and the fact that he

hasn't walked that much. He's gonna be able to overcome that. Why, because he's done it over the past four seasons. He's never had a batting average below two seventy three. So that's his floor, his flot more batting averages to seventy three. And actually, you know, he's not only these other guys who strike out a lot and had this this wide range of possibilities. You know what his ranges. It's two seventy two ninety. That's where he's been his entire career.

He's never been below two seventy three. Last year he was at two ninety. I worry a little bit about the power coming back a little bit because the bat of ball data wasn't great, like thirty five percent hard hit rate in a year where like everyone's hard hit rate was thirty five percent that was league average home run the fly ball ratio went up, So you know,

I do worry about some of these things. But uh, you know what, what do I haven't projected for to seventy five homers, eight five runs, ninety five rb i s, fifteen stolen bases. That's still a near first round player. So I think my my reservations with have they last year was Joe Madden, right was Joe Madden was gonna f with him in some way, and he moved him around, he wouldn't play on certain days. Correct, and Benzo versus gonna be a thing. Benzover is great last year, but

it wasn't. But it wasn't in spite of Javier Bias. Now, Bias played more than ever last year, a hundred and sixty games he appeared in, and all these stats. To me, thirty four home runs probably comes back down. You said twenty nine in your projections. Let's i'll say twenty five to thirty and maybe even a slightly less than that

twenty nine number. But I think the runs, the RB I I think that's replicable, and I think, like you said, Frank the Babbit, which was a three seven last year, it's was pretty much in line with what he's done the last three years, three forty seven. It wasn't outlandish the average. Okay, so it went up a little bit to to ninety, all right, it comes back down to two eighty. Okay. He's never gonna be a high ov P guy because he doesn't walk. The strikeouts are always

gonna be annoying around twenty five. But to say it's twenty six years old, that he scored more runs and have more RBIs gained a little bit of power here kind of makes sense. Now the stolen basis that one was by far a career high. I'm worried about that coming back down into that fifteen range again this year, which you're dropping them a little bit. So for me, the obvious question is, yes, was last year the pinnacle

of Javier Bias. You gave all the advanced stats, you gave a line drive, right, you gave the hard hit rate, and it wasn't glaringly bad. It wasn't like, all right, this guy's not gonna do it again. But it wasn't like, al right, here's why he will do it again. Right. It's kind of in the middle there, which means he's not somebody probably want as my first round pick. He's someone i'd feel more comfortable if that's my second round pick. And if you're asking me between Jose L. Tuv And

and Javier Bias, which is probably a fair question. As as we stated, what are you drafting them for in the first round. If you're looking at guys you're were comfortable with speed, theoretically, whose L two is the guy back for these injuries? You're you're you're a little bit purpose. But if you're convinced that Who's l he's a hundred percent healthy, given that the average, given the speed, I'd probably take l two A over Bias. But that's you

have to be convinced that he's healthy there. If you're not convinced these different things. Ultimately that's not necessary, that's not necessarily true. Like all to it gives you a little bit of everything else. But what he gives you more of is different than Javier Bias because he's gonna give you more back. Definitely, he's not gonna give you as much power. He'll probably be closer to runs without right, So that's fine. So Valu is gonna come more home runs.

The runs will probably be comparable. The speed. The speed I think the RBI is kind of speed is probably gonna favor he to it. You'd think it, which so he's coming off a major Nie surcher that when we asked Dr A about it, he was worried. But that's ultimately the million dollar question if you don't worry about Howvier buys a speed. Something that brought up to me in the second half last year. If you look at it, he went three for ten, so I basically that's so bad.

That's really like he went one for thirty on the season, So I think about that he only had three stole basic to ten in the second half he went three for he went terrible. You know, he went three for ten. It's not you know, I think he's probably closer to like twelve to fifteen. And that's really how many like all two days days of getting thirty store it might opinion they're not gonna have any shares of Jose altime. And I think I am either talking myself into it.

I do this a lot on the show. Right he buyas over El, Yeah, I am. I'm not gonna do it because if it came down to what I would draft, Howvier buys ahead of him, I wouldn't you know those thirteen home runs that he had last year for al two obviously, unless he's had any years since two thousand and fourteen, what's the realistic for the speed last the speed? I don'tn't want to say that those thirties, the the days of thirty stone bases are gone. I don't know

about gone. Last year is by far the least he's had ever. He's just gonna stop. You think he's gonna just stop running? How about this? How your bias sprint speed was in the eighty nine percentile in baseball this year. Maybe he's just gotta pick and choose a spots better. I'm saying two, they had a hot your bias Man. Realistically, I'm not taking either of these guys. I can't see a scenario where you take Javier Bias though, and you

you pair him with like a Freddy Freeman. That would be an awesome start, although you know, don't you can turn about the pitching. You don't get an out fielder,

you don't get a starting picture. But look, if you're someone that's confident that you can find those middle ground outfielders and you can take your your sp one and two in rounds three and four, Like, that's a scenario could he taken because you get the batting average from Freddy Freeman to kind of counteract Javier Bias if there's a little bit more volatility there than we expect and they both kind of do a little bit of everything, Like Freddie Freeman is gonna give you ten stole bases,

is gonna give you twenty five runs, Like it's a really good start if you can start buy it's Freddy Freeman's pretty good. There's nothing wrong with me. It's like, you know, either guy, like if you can start buyas Freeman bias Goldschmidt pretty good. We talked um about yesterday. But you said about two man you can start by as judge, I thought about that too, but the batting average is a little bit more of a concern there. Like I trust that Freddy Freeman and Paul Goldschman are

going to help me more in batting average. And judge, can you just gonna be like to seventy can you start a two bay bias sure of the middle enfield? I mean somebody can? I can't. Okay, No, Look, they're both really talented players. It's just like you lock yourself up so much if you do that early on, because then like if there's middle and fields later on, that you kind of like that. You think, are you know, falling out a good value, Like you're not gonna draft

one of those guys your utility only players? Well, well that's true, yeah, I mean you can. You can make bias short stop. You can also I think you'd use them at third base as well. Alright, so maybe you can. I wouldn't. I mean again, personally, I need at least one between the outfielder and starting pitch for the first rodos in Rhodo and in points leagues. I don't really want hier Bias because he doesn't walk all right. Let's gae a break here. When did we come back? Dr

Speaking of being a part of it, Dr A Joy's program right now is he's of course an HONORARYBFF as well.

What's going on? Doctor? Um, good guys, Frank, Greg, how's your week going so far? I thought did you sleep? I really thought I didn't sleep. I didn't sleep that well last night. Doctor, I mean you didn't. You didn't ask me, but I'll answer anyway. I actually am dealing with Uh. I don't know. I need you to come examine me a little bit because I got I got like this lower back thing going on. I don't know if it's an oblique it's like my lower left back.

I kind of tweaked it playing basketball every night. I'm kind of like rubbing some well up media, rubbing like freeze on it and like icy hot. It's not getting better, Doc, what'should I do? I don't know. This is very typical of a pilates injury. Are you doing excessive pilates? Probably not enough pilates. I don't know that it's a muscle strain. It's just gonna take its own time. That's basically anti inflammatory, is an ice, basically just give any Like my cavs

for the last two years are still strained. I want to let you know that I haven't been able to work those muscles out. Well. You should probably, you know, like use them more often. Greg, Yeah, maybe go jogging or something. Yeah, created them up a little bit. Yeah, all right, Uh, Doc, we're mentioning all the our our own injuries. But the biggest injury in sports right now is what happened a Zion Williamson last night who fell

out of his shoes and twisted his knee. And there's a massive, massive, deep breath by every Duke fan, of course, any college basketball fan, NBA fan, and particularly Knicks fans um as well. Duke said after the game that he has a mild knee sprain. You see, you saw on Twitter immediately following the game that David Chang um he would be as David changing. David Chang is a chef

San Diego guy, David chout, thank you. David Chow was tweeting out that he believes from the video that it's probably a slight MCL injury and MCL spring that should have him back by the time the a CC tournament starts, or and or the n C Double A Tournament starts. Any well, yeah, we we tweeted out right when it happened that it was an m c L spring. Okay, so injuries agreed, all right, what is the latest that you're seeing then? Do yeah, I mean this looks like

a minor twe I mean, it doesn't look like a major. Uh, you know, like a grade two or grade three. We're we're labeling it a grade one. The very fact that is, you know right off that you know he was able to put some weight on it, um and uh, you know, to us, it's a minor. It's a minor m c L sprain, probably a grade one. The m R I is going to tell everything but um, you know, the good news is is that uh um, you know, we

don't think it requires any type of surgery. Although this is a two week recovery time, especially for him, they should really really take it uh uh carefully for his sake because you know the way he plays and with the fervor uh and the aggressiveness that he plays, this thing needs to be completely healed one hundred percent before he gets back out on the court. And so, uh yeah, grade one m c L two weeks. Let's see if they actually adhere to that uh m r results. I

don't know if they'll ever publish them. Uh, we'll see what happens. But um, right now we're looking at a grade one. Oh there, there's absolutely no doubt in my mind that they will adhere to this. They are not rushing him back. It's like it's not like playoffs or anything like that. Like they're going to make sure he's a billion percent healthy before he's out there again. Two weeks time. Your timetable has him back to the a CC tournament has n't back in plenty of time for

March madness. But Frank, you said you do not expect him to play again. Yeah, so When I said he wasn't gonna play again, that wasn't any like official report. That was just my opinion. I would be very surprised if he played again. Obviously, you need to protect himself and his future in terms of, uh, you know, where he wants to go in the NBA draft. I doesn't

want to like, you know, further injure anything else. Plus like really, what else does he owe you know, Duke and the n c A A, like you know, he's making any money off this either. So you know, there's a lot of people debating that today. I don't really want to go into that, but I would be surprised if he plays another game, even if he does come back healthy. So yeah, so let me clarify, Yeah, Frank, let me clarify. He will be recovered from this injury in two weeks. If it's a Grade one m c

L sprain, which was what we're predicting. What he decides to do is a different store. Yeah. I hear what you're saying there, Doc, because I agree. You know, he's gonna be healthy at some point. I think, like before, especially like the March Madness, the NBA tournament, I think it'll be healthy by then, but I would me personally, I would be surprised if he plays doc. Let's let's transition here into a little bit of a fantasy baseball.

We were having some fun yesterday, unfortunately at the expense of Jose Bray. You so I gotta ask you. We were talking about he had legitimately testicular torsion last year where he needed to have surgery to save one of his testicles. Um, I hope that doesn't affect him this year. But he also dealt with a thigh injury that shut him down at the end of the season. Uh. First up, let's get your thoughts on the testicular torsion a second

of the thigh injury with Jose Bray. Well, it was really a thigh infection and all of this is related, so you know, testicular torsion is a uh sort of a serious emergency because the arterial blood supply to one of the testicles gets twisted and then compromised and it has to be basically operated and and sort of detourised or removed, et cetera. Unfortunately, but there's as any risk with any surgery, there's always a chance of post operative

infection and that's what uh. You know, I think the inner thigh is kind of where they operate on, you know, that's kind of in the surgical field. Uh. He talked about it coming from an ingrown hair and then infected from that point. But usually that is probably in preparation for that surgery. Unfortunately, sometimes when you have a post operative infection or infection shortly after surgery, it's always connected and and the kind of the dominoes fall and then

it takes a lot longer to recover. This is not a sports related in whatever whatever he had gone through, This is all related to medical type of diagnoses and not sports injury related. He's like, so the surgery is done, the infection is cleared, it's done. He's kind of getting back. You know. All of these other injuries that he had

before still keeps his injury risk pretty high. We always have said that, but from this particular injury he should be completely um, you know, recovered from because it's not really a sports injury. He's at above average. Remember is our peak threshold, So he's five percent away from being at peak health. His injury risk is a twenty seven percent, so one and a quarter, so he will get banged

up this year, probably a quarter of the games. And uh, you know, but from this particular injury, he should be back up to peak health once the opening day starts. He's scared with that missing quarter of the season. Frank, Yeah, you just drop him down to rankings. I had to pull I had to pull him up to see. Uh. I mean, he's been pretty durable outside of the last year, so we'll see what happens. But I mean that does

worry me a little bit. You know, I trust I trust docs analysis here, and you know, Jose Bray is one of these guys that I was actively targeting. But hearing that, you know, missing a quarter to the games or at least you know the possibility of that happening because of past injuries, it's worrisome. I mean, you can't

just closs over it. I don't think so either. It's like the doctor from Inside Injuries and Doc the Cardinals have come out and said, listen, we're not happy with how Carlos Martinez his train we are not happy with the how his shoulder looks or his reacting. And fantasy owners are now really staying away from Carlos Martinez because they don't know if he's a starter, they don't know if he's a reliever, they don't know when he's going to pitch. Should we'd be scared the draft Carlos Partinez,

how many red flags do you need? Three or four? Seven? So? Uh so, Number one, Uh, you know he has a long list of previous injuries. Number two is the fact that you know, landed on the d L three times last season with shoulder of leak and latch strains. Number three, um, uh, he has a he's you know, basically a throwing shoulder injury. It's great too, so it's not a tear, but it's

still you know, a significant straining. And uh, you know with all of the previous injuries, the fact that it's a throwing shoulder, the fact that he's a pictuer, um gives him a twenty four HPF. I mean, this is really bad. HPF is supposed to be right now for a guy you're ready, you think is going to be good this year, probably a seventy. He's at twenty four percent. His injury risk right now is like flipping up a coin almost. And so, uh, this is a guy that, unfortunately,

from a fantasy perspective, you stay away from this. Look, you didn't. You didn't need to hear much more than that. He was dealing with the late injury last year. He's dealing with the shoulder injury now. I mean, these are these are recurring injuries now with with Carlos Martinez, it's a it's very worrisome you're getting him at a discount before. But I no matter how fault heart fall, how far he falls on twister there, I don't I don't know

that I could. I don't think I could get it on Carlos Martinez here, Greg, you obviously know a song, baby comeback. Miguelson. No is doing it to me all over again. Man, Like every single year, I fall for the power upside of Miguels And No, you're getting him outside the top two picks right now, So you actually get like a pretty good discount here, and I like the twins lineup quite a bit. But he is he's currently walking wearing a walking boot here doc to prevent

a laceration on his heel from reopening. Does this have any potential of you know, lingering into the season and becoming a nuisance. No, I mean, if this is a superficial laceration, that he got stitches on it doesn't go super deep, then uh, this is not even a sports injury. This is a grave point five in our book, and so it shouldn't doesn't cause a lot. I wouldn't be concerned about this. I mean this thing a cut. Will heal with stitches probably in two weeks, two to three weeks,

and he should be good to go there. Making sure that there's no infection after that, because then that will obviously complicate things. Um, the you know, the biggest, the biggest thing for Miguel Sown and you said this, Um, you know he's uh, I mean, he's got another he's got a lot of recurring sort of a nagging all previous injuries that he's recovered from. He's at forty seven injury risk right now, and so it's like a flip

of the coin. I know you have a love affair with this guy, but um, you know he's at sixty percent, so he's above average, but he's so high risk that if you're going to take him, you have to have a solid guy that you can literally replace him in your line up, because you know he may miss half the year this year, he may or he may not that's true. That's true. There's two sides every coin, There's two sides every story. So he also look, it's kind of baked into his price, so you know, you're getting

him so late. And when I look at a guy like him, I just see like thirty home run upside. I think actually being around a guy like Nelson Cruz is actually gonna help him a lot in terms of like having a veteran presence around. You know, they're both from the Dominican Republic. I think that's gonna help him. Is it gonna help him stay healthy? Not too sure about that, but I do see some serious upside here with else, know, going outside the top two. Yeah, there's

not much risks, right? Can he be our corner infielding? Yeah? We're in Greggy Okay, I'm all right. You know a name that we spoke about off the air, Frank earlier this week. We're like, what do you do with you Darfish? Like, what is you Darvish going to be? What was his injury? And nobody nobody knows, well, I'm hoping Dr knows. Doc is you Darvish healthy? He says he's healthy, but like he was so bad last year, but he blamed the injuries, like should we invest in this guy again? So, Um,

the procedure, yeah, we could. We could spend a long time talking about you Darvish. Um, I can have power point slides, you know, we could do all of that. But to summarize it, he had a right elbow arthroscopic Debriedman surgery. UM, and so essentially a lot of you know that cleans up the cartilage in his throwing elbow. Um, it will, it will shave off some spurs, make you know, kind of you know, basically clean out like you hear

about clean out procedures. That's what he's doing. Um. He had a tricept strain stress reaction at the tip of the right elbow, which means like he had a stress like basically like a stress minor stress fracture. They're all of that is healed. I can almost guarantee that all of that stuff is healed. He's had a good procedure. He's throwing batting practice. I mean this thing is uh, he's doing he's so far everything that that what we have seen and that's put into the algorithm. It's looking

good for Hugh Darvish. The thing is is that he obviously, you know all of his injuries, the way he throws, the emotion, you know all of that stuff. He will have about his i r C right now is twenty eight percent. By by opening day it should drop down to fifth of the season. So he'll play, you know, like he'll start if he makes If he tries to make twenty starts, I think he'll probably make about fifteen to sixteen out of the twenty. Not bad if you're

thinking about fifteen to sixteen starts of Hugh Darvish. He's above average at seventy. In two months, he'll probably be very close to peak helt so from this particular injury, he's had enough time. He's ready to go. From those he's healed, so he's at the best health that he could be at this point. But expect him not to be twenty a twenty star guy. He'll probably be right around fourteen to fifteen, all right. So you're getting him in the ninth round right now, Greg, Is that something

that can interest you? Is your SP three SP four? Maybe Looking at the tout Ward Draft and Hoole Draft, he went in in round nine, just ahead of Shane Bieber and Chris Archer, So that's kind of the range he's gonna be at, like around that, you know, top thirty, top thirty five starting pitchers. So all the projections off fan graphs have them pretty similar around ten wins or so, around seven eight losses, hundred and forty innings about with

the e r A at three seven I'm out. I mean, if we're just going, yeah, they haven't at around a hundred and forty innings pitched. And you know he's kind of he's always dealt with injuries. You know, he's had he's had Tommy John before and you know he's only on over a hundred and eighties six endings pitched, you know, once in the past four seasons. So yeah, you know he comes with his own risk. But that's where you're

getting him as a Lady Walks for nine so bad. Well, I mean you're looking at last year specifically, look at I'm looking at the projections. I mean, he's always been a guy that's like a right around three walks for nine. I don't want this guy. You don't want I don't want you. Maybe I don't think, I don't think. Maybe should ask dr me. But you Darvish just teammate though, Brandon Morrow, because the you want the closer you'd think

for Chicago are expecting within a bunch of games. Um, But they have a lot of options of who the closer could be for the Cubs. Their top options for last year was Brandon Morrow, who predictably got hurt like he always does. You want to talk about a laundry list of insuries, that's Brandy Mara. Is he healthy right now? Doc? So, our algorithm picked up on a couple of pieces of terminology coming out of the Cups camp, and it's said m R I showed no damage, but a CT scan

later showed the need for surgery. So the only reason, not the only but there's very few indications that actually that happens on and the team is not telling us what that is. Um. You know, you know there's there's something in the bone. The CT scan is much better for bone evaluation, and m R is much better for soft tissue evaluation like ligaments and tendons and cartilage, etcetera, all of that stuff. So when something is not seen on m R I, but it is seen on CT,

it's likely something in the bone. And so is it, uh some necrosis? Is it a you know, I'm just speculating here, guys. I don't know anything, but it's something else. Sometimes there could be a little bone tumor, it could be I don't know. They're there's all these different things that are not seen on m R I that you

can see on CTT. That is a pretty big indication because essentially, besides all of the other injuries that he's had, um, you know, uh, you know, and when he missed the final three months of the season, and then finally after all this evaluation, underwent surgery. UM. You know, he had a great three elbow to breedman surgery. That's what they're calling it. UM. But I believe that the surgery is a lot was a lot more than that. UM. They're

not telling us a piece of it. Basically, So his HPF is poor, it's thirty eight percent, and he's done a very very high injury risk this year, especially as a closer, with this type of elbow injury and all of these um, you know, previous injuries and the fact that they have to debreed his elbow before the season again, you know, longevity through the season and being being a sort of dominant closer in the league. It's gonna be

very difficult for him to maintain that. Uh, you know, throughout the rest of the season, you could probably see him start really well, but you know, his fifth or sixth start after that, you could probably see him go downhill a little bit. There you go, Dr Ray from inside injuries. My good information this week not really positive, but hey, I mean that's what he's here for. It to deliver the good news. I mean, Doc is here to deliver the hard news. Good news on it bre

you not really. He tells he's a quarter of the season, but he's but he's healed. Awesome, he's still got a test I mean that counts or something. Dr a inside injury, you know what Zion news is good? All right, Doc, Well, we'll bring it back next week. All that inside injury is. We appreciate it time. Oh, we come back. I think the Braves of the team that can win very easily if they're willing to move some of their young pitching. Could they not trade Kyle right for like a Cole Hamill's type like the Cubs did last year. Would that be enough to get them through to the World Series. I don't think it's enough right now. it's enough to win a division. I'm not just saying this, but um if you do play Dynasty and you kind of like need a location. I've seen a lot of people asking, oh, where should I host my Dynasty league and stuff? Fan Tracks does have like the deepest player pool. I've actually played a Dynasty league which hasn't that didn't last, it was only one year. I won the only year that that we

played it. I wanted there. But they do have an extremely deep player pool, really far into the prospects and stuff. So and not just your dynasy league, but if you know, if you want to host your league, make sure you do it over there. But yeah, we got the best ball draft coming up here starting at one o'clock. I have the fifth pick. I know our our buddy Chris Venture, the Closer yell Boy, is in the draft and he

has picked eleven. I know a few other people who watched and listen to the show are in the draft as well. So it's gonna be fun. I'm looking forward to. I was actually a price Frank and joined the league last night, so can I sell him? Tweet it out? It's like, hey, if you haven't joined that joint? So I clicked the link and then popular went to the lobby. He was like Frank, I don't I don't see your league here. He's like it's all filled up, man, like crap.

There you go. It starts in about twenty minutes from now, so that'll be fun to beat. Frank Stanford uh fan tracks Bestball League. Speaking of Frank, let's promote Frank a little bit more, uh, he said. Mace rankings are now live over on his patreon, so check that out free free for now, and they's gonn start charging you all limited time only while supplies last. How long was supplies last? to be my advocate, am? So you're you know you're supposed to help me out with these things. I'll tell you what I have to help me. I'll tell you what I think off the air when you should charge people.

But there's some really cool features that Franks to have his patreon, including f Bombs and the Frankings, so definitely check it out F Bombs, Frankings and more from our own Frank Staffell inside his patreon, which is available right now, so purchase it before he raises the prices on you because you don't want to you don't want to do that. How's that very good? You're doing a good time. Appreciate

I'll take it. Okay. So second base ranks, we've uh, it's been forty five minutes, we've been two so we're on tractor zeries paces yesterday. Then, so you have these two guys, right, Javier buys nose a are you and they are borderline first second round. Excuse me was out to man Hivier bias borderline first second round guys or turn Gathers. Say, then you have a second baseman there's in a tier of his own, and that's whit mary Field. His nfcc A DP. Over the last month or so,

he's around, so he's playing in fifteen team league. The end of the second county, he played a swelfth team league, right dab smack in the middle of the third the next second bason doesn't go off the bat off the board for another thirty picks or so, whit mary Fields in a tier of his own. And I asked Frank right before he went on the air, I said, Frank, is whit mary Field worth it? Where he's getting drafted?

And of course he turned that into a poll with all these guys that are kind of in the area. So I'll throw it at you again, Buddy, Is whit mary Field worth being drafted at his a DP? Yes and no. I think it's kind of an overreaction because everyone wants to find stolen bases and last year with Maryfield led the league and stolen basis with forty five. He actually attempted fifty five stolen bases, was caught ten times. But he gives you stolen basis and doesn't completely completely

sink you everywhere else. Now, he is expected to bat third in the Royals lineup this year, so is there a chance that that affects his stolen base output a little bit? I have I have some concerns, but the Royals are a team that if they want to generate any offenses year, it's gonna be on the base pass Because they have Billy Hamilton's, they have Adalberto Mondescy, they have with mary Field. It's very clear what they're trying to do this year. They don't have big sluggers in

this lineup. The way that they're going to generate runs is they're gonna run on the base paths, So you know, with mary Field still gonna run a lot. Am I gonna project him for forty plus long basis? Again probably not. I would probably expect more like the thirty five range for Wit mary Field doesn't completely kill you in like the power category. He's gonna be twelve to fifteen home runs, good batting average. I think he's a legitimate hitter, you know,

to eight plus batting average UM. But the lineup is just not great greg So eight runs seventy r b I s you know, even if he bats third with seventy five maybe eighty eight r bis. I mean, that's on the good side of things, the good spectrum of of outcomes that can happening for Wit Maryfield. So you're looking at a good batting average to eighty runs not great,

I mean, but he doesn't completely sinking. He's not liked Gordon where he us you like one or two eighty runs seventy d r bis and you know thirty five stone basis. So that's what you're looking at. Is that worthy of a second round pick? Probably not. I think it's an overreaction because people want to get stolen basis. So the sole based category I mentioned it without two bay couple of moments ago that like, do you know

you're getting them? It's well worth it, I think, And as you stated Frankie, like this is the only way the roads are gonna have any any amount of success. We saw thirty four stone basis when he's seventeen from wit up to forty five last year. Is this dude's gonna steal fifty basis? Probably not, But there's nothing that I'm seeing that says you can't really replicate what he's doing. Right, Like,

he's a fast dude. He's gonna score eighty runs. He's gonna have proba at least seventy r v I. You think it makes a lot of contact K percentages and been around six up the walk rate if you have to be very impressive. He doubled his walk rate nine drive rate right around thirty, so you contact. So he's

gonna have a good batting average. He's gonna hit some doubles, which is gonna help you in points lead You like that he improved that walk right, Actually have what Mary Field as a key keeper in one of my home points leagues, and I'm actually kind of excited about it. I have him for I believe a tenth round. So my buddy actually before the show, G chatted me and he's like, hey, I have with mary Field as a third round keeper at the three eight twelve league in

the three eight spot. What do I do it? Will? It comes down to what the rest of his keepers look like. So it's like, if you have no one else and you just want to assure that you get with Maryfield, then sure, but there's no value there. That's not great value. I think you're right. He hasn't shut you out all that much about sixteen. Um, I think what we're seeing is pretty replicable. The bad it was was pretty high at two at just three or eight

the year before. He doesn't have a bit of a split thing to verse right E's he's two eighty two and with a seven fifty o ps. But against lefties he's three fifty seven, so he crushed it. He's adequate against rights and he crushes left I mean, but he's getting sink you. You know, it's not like he's dreadful. Do you think some of the reason that you're not get head over heels for this dude because he's like

thirty years old. Um, there's a bad team. I'm more worried about the Royals lineup than I am the age thing because just looking at his skills, you know he's improved the plate discipline. He hits the ball hard. I think he's a legitimate hitter. I think he's a good hitter. I do have some concerns about the Royals lineup. If I'm being honest, I don't think it's good. It's terrible. It's probably the worst team in baseball. But you know, if he does bat third. Last year, I think he

was more so like batting first and second. If he does that third, you might you might lose some stolen basis, but you'll gain some RBI. Maybe he's closer to eight RBI this year. You're looking there was reasons you have to win Mary Fils, not for the r v I. You don't care about the r V I theoretically care on the steels. Yeah, I mean you want a little bit of everything. That's what you won't win Mary Phil four because he doesn't sink you in any specific spot.

So last year he added first a hundred twelve of games, still thirty nine of his forty six bass in the leadoff spot. That in second he stole four basis, I was in thirty two games, Um he did not that third.

Last year he had fourth, fifth, and six. Obviously, primarily it wasn't that leadoff spot where has thirty still basis, I would be worried about moving down to the order of hurting that hurting his ability to run if it were on another team, though, right, like stolen bases are are generally they're based off of motive, whether or not you want to do it, and team philosophy. The Royals

team philosophy, they're gonna run. I looked this up the last night because I was doing research on Adalberto Mondessey over the past five years. Adald Berto Mondessey, Yeah, he's kind of like this year's Byron Bucks and which Matt Modikea made that that last night It was pretty much spot. I saw all that. But over the past five years, the Royals have the third most stolen basis, they're a team that's gonna run. Like their team philosophy, they do

back that up. So I understand why some people might worry about wit mary Field moving down in the lineup, and it might affect him, But if you were another team, I would worry a little bit more. The Royals. Their team philosophy is they're gonna run. Who's he going around?

So with mary Field in a DP, I do like the fact that he has dual position eligibility to he has second base and outfield, so that obviously helps you for Rhoto, you get you get him back to with the shallowest positions both second base and outfield rohto, which helps wit. Mary Field is going right around. He's going ahead of Blake Snell, Won Soto, Ris Bryant, Trevor Bauer, Anthony Rizzo, Luis Savarino, and really back to back with

Andrew Benintendie, which I don't really love either of those. Guy, Dude, I think I have a really big ben Intende shuk. I gotta figure out why you off on them. I think I want let's do it right now. Let's did you say a basement? Frank? What is there to like about ben in Tendi? You think a Mason right now? I was not prepared for that, all right. I'm always ready to like rip this guy apart. Dude, what why do you have been at Dundee? For real? He struggles

against left handed pitching. I'm a guy who looks a lot into splits because I want my players to play every ring, and I want them when they're in the lineup every single day. You know, I don't want like, Okay, they're facing you know, three lefties in a row, so I know for the next three days and intend he's gonna suck. Basically, and his bad ball data last year. The average hard hit rate last season was thirty five percent.

In a year where everybody's average eggs and velocity and hard hit rate was going up, this was many bicips. Are you serious? At the gym pro? Now I can win four percent home run the fly ball ratio. Everyone's still kind of waiting for this guy to break out. Like last year was supposed to be the third year breakout was third season at the major league level. Now it's gonna be his fourth year. I realized he's you know, he's gonna still only turn twenty five this year in July.

He's gonna score a lot of runs. He's gonna lead off for the Red Tucks. I get it. But like for people who think he's gonna be like this five guy, it's not gonna happen. He's been twenty one runs and he's been sixteen, so I think that's where he's gonna be again. I think he's gonna be, you know, eighteen and twenty stolen basis, eighteen to twenty home runs and

probably the stolen basis too in that same range. I don't really buy the batting average either to ninety for a guy that had a twenty percent hard hit rate. I don't know. I just don't buy it. And he struggles throughout his entire career against lefties. In his career against left handed pitching, he is a to thirty four hit or with a six forty one OPS. That's your second round pick two thirty four six OPS. Against against right he's he's too with an eight fifty five OPS.

He hasn't lived up to expectations, and he's still going where he's going higher than he was last year. He's going in the third round list. You're right around Christian Yellowch. He hasn't lived up to expectations, and he's only going at a higher draft prices was at this time last year. I don't get it. That's why ben intend I think people just I think the split conversations fair, but I think people look at what they was gonna hit, thirty homers and score, so people see that you gave that.

You gave that number of the whole run of fly ball ratio a year after being eleven percent in his first season being six and a half percent, and thinking like, if that could just jump up to an average rate if hits the ball a little bit harder, Fenway is not good for left handed power, and we haven't seen telling indication that it's going to jump either. I'm just telling you why if he if he had a even if his hard hit rate went up a little bit,

it's never been great. He's thirty hard hit rate for his career, so it doesn't hit the ball all that hard at a time when everybody is hitting the ball hard. If it went up to thirty seven percent last year, at least, you know, let me see some kind of improvement. I'm out on Ben intent he's gonna score runs. That's like he's gonna leave off for the Red Sox. I understand he's gonna he's gonna score a hundred runs and he's I don't I don't think that. I don't buy

the two nine batting average. So you know, if he's a two seventy five hitter with a three fifty O b P. He's gonna score over a hundred runs. He'll give you twenty homers, twenty stone bases. Is that worthy of a second round pick? Maybe I'm wrong, Maybe maybe that is worthy? Is it? I don't know. Yes, I lean towards like, if I'm choosing between him and Blackman, I'll still take black Men. I agree with that. I told you that I would take this guy over with

I don't really want either. I'm probably taking a starting picture there, because think about it. If you start in the early first round, you're gonna take a hitter first. You're gonna take a Jose Ramirez or an outfielder, or you're gonna get like j D. Martinez or Christian Yellow, someone like that, Ronald cun You're gonna come back in the second round. You're gonna be deciding between these hitters.

Or hey, do I double down on starting pitching. Let me get my SP one on my SP two in the first three rounds, or at least it's grab one

starting pitcher. At this point in the draft, you're looking at it the way I get I'll tell you the way the way I get Andrew, the way I get Andrew BENINTENDI He's like, if a draft, let's say Josie Ramirez in the first round, right, follow follow that up with the best starting pitcher on the boards in the second round and the third round, ben Intendi is the best half of their left That's how I get ben

Intendi in my team. But he's going at ADP twenty eight, so he's going in the second round in twelve team draft. He's not in the twelve team or he's That's exactly the Hoosier mirror spot right the fourth pick overall, Like that is literally the Hosier mirror. You would start your draft like Josie Ramirez starring vetcher in a fifteen team lea, you can do Jose ramiroor is Benintendie and then come around and get your first starting pitcher, which would be

like Bower or Severino. There's probably a lot of people that like that start, and that is that's I don't know, that's a bad start. I'm out on ben Intendi. He's really into the split thing. U split things that kills you. I think, Okay, is he still gonna lead off when they face a tough lefty? James Paxson is gonna lead off? I don't know who the other choices to lead off. I don't think I have best lead off, probably not. Why not? Maybe people in on Bogarts. I was, I

was kind of crunching numbers on shortstops last night. Um yeah, I think people are kind of in on him. He's you know, he has like a fourth fifth front price tag. I was actually talking to you a little while ago. I still in hometown Heller me like his production has been so up and down every single season, kind of hard for me to trust. And I am I just a Red Sox hater. I don't know. So it's like T D. Martinez, I like Mookie Bets, my Red Sox hater, like Nathan Vivaldi. I'd like to think I'm not a

Red Sox tater. So I still look at a hometown Heller before and he had three Red Sox on his He's a Met fan, but he had three Red Sox on his team last year. Mets Jaguars fan. Yeah, that's an interesting life. So he had Mookie Bets, Andrew ben and Tende and Zenner Bogarts on his team last year. And like any time you played in whenever the Red Sox scored, and they scored every night. We're just like I'm crossed, and it was every single there you go. There's a strategy for you. So I asked, as I

should I do that? Because if you, if you had Bet gets second pick in draft, first come back to Benintendie to start your draft like this, you get a little bit of every category. You get two outfielders in a Rhoto draft. Is you have no discrepancy. This is why I'm asking you in my league have the first overall pick. It's a keeper league. I'm keeping, I'm drafting, and um, Mookie bets first overall. Do I come back and draft ben Intendie in the second? No? Because he

sucks against lefties. And that's the answer, Greg, Oh already then fair enough. It seems like you like ben Intendi a little bit more than me. I do like ben Inenni a little bit more than that. Is that is a fact? Do we can see the second? Sure you mentioned what mary Field is kind of like in a tier of his own. He's the only one who goes in the UH in the third round of drafts, and

then there's kind of a drop off here. Um, you know, he goes around pick twenty nine and NFBC and then the next guy up is Azzi Albis who goes at pick fifty seven. So yeah, there's there's quite a big drop there, like picks picks and dropped from from what mary Field to Ausi Albui's great Azzi Alb's labor tour is Daniel Murphy. They go all in or around the

same round. I know we talked a lot about Daniel Murphy, and to me, I want Daniel like Daniel Murphy's is target of mine this year, and I gotta make sure that I get him. I'm not worried about the knee. I saw some people talking about this on Twitter last night in the Fantasy Baseball industry. Year later. You know he had bone on bone last year. Greg, that's bad. That's who we need to ask talk about next week. Daniel Murphy. How healthy he's gonna be this year because

he's another year older. I don't want to be the guy who's kind of like Coop wooing Daniel Murphy. I guess this is the episode where I hate everybody, but and I don't hate Danie Murphy. I want to like he's in Colorado. How can you not like it? He's a contact hitter who hits, line, drives and doubles. He's gonna be in Colorado. How can you not like that? But when you're older, bone on bone with a knee, I think it's a little bit more concerned with Daniel

Murphy that people are leaving on. He learned this yesterday. You learned this over now. No, No, I've actually had a written down in my notes. I tweeted something out and everyone killed before they break come back for its Acations Number two
