practice stand ball. With that, we will get you inside up Studio thirty four. This is the BFFs. I am Grand Sauceman. He is Frank Stamford. What's happening, Franky Gregg? A happy Tuesday to you, budd. Here to talk a little baseball. But it's not just baseball all in today's program because the Knicks fired Steve Mills today. We'll get more of that from Alex in a few moments. We do have some baseball, including our first edition of Caucus the What the Caucus? Frank, Well, you know I have

no clue what that means. We'll explain to Frank exactly what caucus means. Caucus craziness. Last night, caucus craziness. Today here on the BFS, we talked to Dan Shaughnessy of the Boston Globe about what's going on with Mookie Bets in Boston what's called the Red Sox in general. They still have no manager. Pigeon catches report next week, so you know, anytime sounds good to me to have a manager. We'll figure out why they're slashing payroll and why Mookie

is the bad guy in all this. We'll talk to him coming up in about a half hour from now, and then we got a whole lot of caucus thing to do, Frank, But first, I just sleep. I slept very well last night. Yeah, I've slept well recently, just in general since the start of the new year. Base. How is the stomach doing? Somebody's doing much better? Salad Today I had to get myself salad, salad to eat cars. You're eating salad? Gosh. Yeah. I had an apple for breakfast,

some almonds. Greg, I had to Uh, I had to take it back a little bit after the monstrosity that was this past weekend. Greg. I just sleep, Buddy back a little bit, right. Covers are stolen a bit. No nightmares, nightmares, no nightmares. But I had a lot of good ideas pouring him into the show before into any of that. The first idea to update that starts right out Sports

grade news update. I am Alex Bassano with your sports grid news update here on the Fantasy f f f's that the New York Knicks have parted ways with team president Steve Mills. General manager Scott Perry will oversee the team's basketball operations for the time being. Knicks president James Doan, in a prepared statement, said, Steve and I have come to the decision that it would be best for him

to leave his role as president. We thank Steve for as many years of service to our organization and look forward to continuing our relationship with him as part of our board. This front office shake up comes two days before the NBA trade deadline. The Knicks are fifteen and thirty six, the third worst rhetoric in the East in Major League Baseball. The Loan baseball writer who did not vote for Derek Jeter for the Hall of Fame chose

to keep the ballot private. The Baseball Writers Association of America released three hundred and fifteen ballots, all of which included Jeter's name. He was on three hundred and ninety six of three hundred and ninety seven ballots announced on January one. Since two thousand and twelve, each voter can check a box on the ballot to have it made

public two weeks after the vote. Totals. The percentage of public ballots was about the same this year as last seventy nine point one percent and seventy nine point five percent, respectively. And in the NFL that Jacksonville Jaguars are moving a second home game in to London's Wembley Stadium in an

attempt to increase their local revenue. Another game in London, which generates twice the money of a home game in Jacksonville, was the best way to offset the boost teams like Raiders, Chargers, and the Rams will get when they all relocate to new stadiums. The Jacks are spearheading a proposed seven hundred million dollar entertainment district development around the stadium that would

result in additional revenue. Until that happens, Jack's president Mark Lamping said adding another home in home game in London is the right move for the team to make. The games will be held on back to back Sundays, and the opponents will come from a list of the Texans, Cults, Titans, Browns, Lions, and Dolphins. I'm Alex Passano and this has been your sports grid news update on the fantasy b f f's they have it. There's Fossando's update today. Fantastic job by Alex.

Covered everything going on in baseball. The strategy to nonsense is exactly what it is. Nonsense. The guy couldn't even show himself because he is a word I cannot say on the airwaves. Frank, what are you talking about? Show your face, reveal yourself. Woe is what he is? You know what, here's not a whoosy today would be James. James, he did it. The acts peace. Steve mills Is second run with the New York Knicks finally ends today as

he was relieved as president of basketball operations. Of course, why not do it two days before the NBA's raide deadline. You know this is absurd, of course, because it's a typical Knicks fashion and it has to be absurd. But at least they like, let Steve Mills make more mistakes this time or just do nothing, which is what it was rending towards happening here. Apparently he didn't want to

trade away Marcus Morris. He was so proud of himself for signing Marcus Morris, like, hey, signed this guy, he played well, I'm not going to trade him. What we find like the guys on a one year contract. Why don't you pull enrolled this chapman with the New York him away, sign him back in the off season. I like Marcus Morris. I like what he brings to the team, the toughness. He likes to defend the guard, and that's fine. Do you think it's possible, Frank, that maybe James Nolan's like,

hey man, you signed seven power forwards. We don't have any point guards. Maybe he should have balanced that. Maybe he should have wanted to bet with an all star. Maybe maybe yeah, maybe instead of trading draft assets and young players to get someone like D'Angelo Russell, you just meet with him in the off season and signed him to an offer sheet and try to lure him to the New York Knicks. He didn't have to move, he

was in Brooklyn already. How about this? Greg Steve Mills has been the general manager ish president from twenty seventeen and then was named the team president in seventeen during this span since season, the Knicks are one seventy eight and three sixty five. That is the worst record in the NBA. That's right, and it's gotten the number they've got a number one over. I'll pick how many times,

Frank zero. All right. Scott Ferry is now running things as the GM Nicks of course looking to Assiujerry, who James Dolan has been after ever since he got fleeced on the Andrea Bargnani trade, so he's been obsessed with it ever since then. His contract rules until next year. In the meantime, it looks like James Dolan is looking into the agent route like Rob Polinka and Bob Meyers,

and so we'll see what happens. In terms of the team president for the New York Knicks, as you mentioned, the interim GM will be Scott Perry with the trade deadline m GM, he's just the GM had all the power. He's just the GM for now, so he can do whatever he wants. And now we're hearing that Marcus Moores is on the trading block. We'll see what happens there if they can wind up a landing in about first round pick for Marcus Sports Scott Perry is not an idiot, right, Okay,

I don't know. He did work with with Steve Mills, and yeah he was I'm sure. I'm sure he didn't have any uh he didn't not have say in bringing four power forwards in the off season, Greg, So I'm sure if there was a little bit more pushed back there, we potentially would not have Bottle part as TODJ. Gibson, Marcus Morris, you know, anyone else that you can name.

It kind of reminds me of the Giants, right, because Steve Mills's thought was like, Hey, we're gonna win this old school with toughness, defense and long two pointers, and the Giants are just like, oh well, it was running the football, you know what I mean, Old school philosophies provides old school losing. Yeah, so that wasn't a profitable strategy here for Steve Mills. He is now out of a job, no longer the president of the New York Knicks.

Not to mention, Greg, we've gotten this entire time. We've gone around nine minutes into the show here without mentioning that this same with Steve Mills at the Helm traded away. Christops porzingis who has put up over thirty five points

in back to back games. In order to sign big name free agents and lore max free agents here in the off season again they wound up with Julius Randall, Todd Gibson, Alfred Payton, Reggie Bullock, and Wayne Ellington and Bobby Portis by the way, yea, and this was why design they did not want to But at the time when they traded Christops Porzingis away, it was because they were clearing space for two too, Max Freed. I mean, did they get again zero that's the name of the

New York Nicks. That's the cherry on top. That's the New York That's the New York Knicks. Indeed, you heard it from Alex Pisano. As we said, Derek Jeter not unanimous because one guy said, nope, reveal yourself. He said, nope. Let's be honest, Greig, did you think dark Jeter is gonna be a unanimous Hall family? Did not? I did not either, So Actuly's one guy bothers. You know what I think. Even more than that is the fact that he will not reveal himself, right, like we all didn't expect.

I would say most of the people that I spoke to did not expect Derik Deeter to be a nantis unanimous Hall of Famer anyway, myself included in that. So I wasn't really upset at that, just the fact that there was just one person who thought that he was not worthy of being in the Hall of Fame uh the first year that he was on the ballot. And again that person will not reveal themselves. This whole process of Hall of Fame voting, especially when it comes to

the Baseball Hall of Fame, GREG is archaic. It's and what end The b b w A said, listen more vealer ballots. You're either a Hall of Famer or you're not. Greg. How can how can somebody like Larry Walker go nine years on the ballot, never finishing with more than fifty four percent of the vote, randomly get a twenty percent increase in vote the final year that he's on the ballot. So to be fair, you could be like, listen to the last night of vote for this guy, and you

know what, I think he's a Hall of Famer. I don't mind that doesn't bother men? Isn't it your hall of Fame or you're not? Though things change You don't have to be a first ballot Hall of Famer. But if he was going to be a Hall of Famer, do anything, the percentages would have been climbing more throughout the years. Please me to jump from fifty four to sev in the final year, You just jump, no doubt about it, all right. So that's our start of baseball.

Last night was the IO Caucus. You know what that is? Right? What? Right? OK? I know the state of Iowa. Last night was the Iowa Caucus. We don't have a winner in the IA Caucus. Because de macracy, We're gonna have our own caucus. As we get Fantasy Baseball talk here on the FFS. Want to be the next daily Fantasy Millionaire. as well. Last night was the ile call because is that it is the first primary of the presidential election and normally's like any other primary, where you go through the night, you have winners, you have losers. Last night we had nothing because of an error with an app So given that today it was our true first day after the Super Bowl, after the recap of discussing baseball, we wanted to have our own caucus where hopefully we would find a winner. So welcome everyone the first edition

of the BFFs Caucus. That's right, Caucus Craziness is here. It is live on the BFF today. Frank, we'll go through the first round. Done the first half of first round, but we're gonna go to the second half of the first round where when I started doing my research, It's true, I started I noticed, Hey, there's a lot of short stops here in the second half of the first round.

How do I know which one to take? So welcome to themist edition of the Caucus Craziness, where we're going to go over for short stops going the second half of the first round, and Frank will try and well, all the delegates here will try to convince me to join their caucus and vote for their short stop. So we begin with our own Frank Stamfle who is here to caucus Trevor's story. Well, thanks for welcoming me and

here Greg Susman on behalf of Trevor's Story. I would like to remind you that Trevor's Story is the one true five category player of all these short stops. If you look at what he's done over the past two seasons, his average season during this band to batting average thirty six home runs, one runs scored, nineties seven r b i s, twenty five stolen bases. That's a damn good season and that has been his average season over the

past two years. During this span. Over the past two seasons, Trevor Story joins only Christian Yellowish as the two players who have seventy plus home runs and fifty plus stolen

bases during this span. He has been a member of the forty forty club dubbed by our own Michael Floorio forty percent hard hit rate fly ball rate in every season that he has been in the majors since he struck out thirty four percent of the time back in his sophomore season, he's lowered that to twenty five point six percent back and twenty six point five percent just last season. He's in the prime of his career, twenty seven years old, hitting in one of, if not the

best environments in base ball in course Field. And again, while all these other shortstops are good, they do have the deficiencies error Story has none. He is a Legit five category contributor. Please vote for Trevor Story, right if you want me to join your caucus and go with Trevor's story. Well, I have to ask you. I have to ask you some follow up questions, right, I just have to know, you know, follow questions to mind. He talked about no deficiencies. What are the whole road splits

here with Trevor Story. Well, gret when you play in the road Tissory League, home road spilds don't matter because it's the production that they give you at the end of your right, Well, then you know, look, then you shouldn't consider playing in a road Tisstory League. That's what you should do. If you're not playing the rod Tister relegue, what are you actually doing? Of course they're going to

be home road splits for Trevor story. We've heard it before when it comes to corps Field, right, But those home numbers are so so good, so dominant, that they will be able to outweigh the woes that we will see on the road. And they're not even really woes. He's still one of the best hitters in baseball, So we're not worried about home road splits here, Greg. And while we're on that, just maybe consider playing in the

Roads History League. Fair enough, Frank, I appreciate your time and let you know if I caucus with you a little later on on our program. All right, coming up next here on our caucus craziness, we had another delegate here that's gonna try to convince me to caucus and join and vote for Francisco Lindoor. So with that we've turned it over. We're on Frank Stample. Well, thank you, Gregs.

We're gonna take a look at Francisco linden Or. For three straight seasons, Lindor has posted thirty two plus home runs and fifteen plus stolen bases. Everyone is looking for

power speed combinations in fantasy baseball this season. Look no further than Francisco Lindor, even with being limited by a cash strain to start twenty nine and Greg, he finished with thirty two home runs, a hundred and one runs scored, twenty two stolen bases, and a two eighty four batting average with a two with an eight fifty four ops like Alex Bregman, who somebody will talk about later on on in this show, uh, he makes a ton of contact.

Francisco Lindor. He has just a fourteen percent strike out rate in his career. Trevor Story strikes out way more than that, so you know the batting average is going to be there for Francisco Lindor makes a ton of contact back to back seasons where his hard contact has

been up over forty one per cent. Speaking of that hard contact, he posted the highest average exit velocity of his career at ninety point six miles per hour last season and the highest of all the short stops that will be talking about today, also in the prime of his career at twenty six years old, is Francisco Lindor. Greig. You want a power speed combination in the first round, look no further than Francisco Lindor. I do have to ask you a follow up question. I heard the person

on the delegate for Mr Trevor's story. He was trying to push Trevor story as a power speed combination. Why do you think Francisco Lindor is better for those categories than the story? Well, Greg, it's a fair question, but when it comes to Francisco Lindor, we think that he still has higher upside than a ever story. We could see him getting into that thirty five home run plateau twenty five stolen bases. Putting those two things together is not something that that Trevor Story has been able to

do again. And you don't have to worry about the home road splits. Greg, you asked the question. They didn't even know what to say when you brought up home road splits. Francisco Lindor he has some of the best splits in baseball. Look at his home road splits. He was nearly the same player on the road as he was at home last year. And the fact that we've seen him for do it for longer than Trevor Story.

He's now done it for three seasons, where Trevor Story has only done it for two, which means he's safer. You want safety in the first round. That's Francisco Lindor, and you do, in fact want safety in the first round. Mr Delegan, I appreciate your time. Francisco Lindoor. I will certainly consider taking a shot on him as we move forward in tonight's caucus. Caucus crazy is continuous because there's other shortstops that are out there. There's other short stops

for me to consider. So let me go with another dual threat. It's hard man this first round. It is tough. I don't know where to give my votes to. I don't know where to pledge. So I needed to hear more about trade turn or. So we bring in the delegate a trade turner, and that trade is not for example, Well, thank you, Greg Susman. I'm here a representative of trade Turner today. And you heard these guys talk about speed when it comes to Francisco Lindoor and Trevor Story, but

they don't have speed like trade Turner has speed. And everybody is trying to find speed in fantasy baseball leagues this year. It's so hard to find someone that could provide that at an elite level. Might I add is Trevor Story thirty five stolen bases last year in just one and twenty two games over a one D sixty two game paste that is forty six stolen bases. The difference between Trevor Story and other people that have stolen bases in the past, like a D. Gordon, he doesn't

hurt you in the power department. He's going to hit you right around nineteen twenty home runs. He's at nineteen home runs exactly each of the past two seasons. Again, he did that in only a hundred and twenty two games last year, so there was upside for him to get to potentially twenty five home runs last year with the Washington Nationals. And this is somebody who is gonna have the green light. We've seen that with Davy Martinez. He's going to allow Trade Turner to run as well.

He makes a ton of contact, just an eighteen point six percent strike out rate in his career, much better than league average, career high thirty seven point eight percent hard contact rate last year, a career high ninety point three mile per hour average exit velocity for Trade Turner as well. This is someone that's trending in the right direction. Greg He will not turn until June this season. You want speed, especially earlier on in your draft. He's not

going to kill you in the power department. Trade Turner is the answer for you. He does have all the speed. He's got more speed than Trevor Story. He's got more speed Francisco Indoor. But the power is significantly worse for these other categories, significantly worse. I can get both power and speed the other two players I've heard from Frank, Yes, but you can also get power at any point in

your draft. It's the easiest category to find his home runs and r B I s later on in your drafts, So you can pair someone h like a Friend Mill Rays later on in your draft with a with a UH with a trade Turner. Friend Mills, he's ground ball percentage, yes, but that hasn't affected his ability to hit home runs the past couple of years. Greg, you can get a Chris Davis who's going outside the top one. Chris Davis with a k's gonna give you forty plus home runs.

You could pair him with a trade Turner. Look, these other guys are gonna give you speed, but not the way that Trade Turner's gonna give you speed. Give me twenty plus home runs, give me forty five plus theme basis. These other candidates are not going to do just that. Greg, Oh my goodness. All three candidies seem like good choices, and of course there's still a fourth. He doesn't even

play short stop for his team. In fact, he really plays third base, but in most leagues he's going to be eligible at shorts stop because he filled in for Carlos Correa last year. I don't know what to do because now I hear about Alex Bregman from the delegate representing Alex Bregman, and that's Frank Stafle. Well, thank you,

Greg Susman. So happy to be here today and represent our Lex Bregman, someone who just continues to get better and better as he ages in the MLB to eight six batting average, thirty one home runs, a hundred and five runs scored, a hundred and three RBIs, ten stolen bases with a p S back in eighteen, that was

his first full season with the Astros. He followed that up with what a two nine six batting average, forty one home runs, a hundred and twenty two runs scored, a hundred and twelve RBIs sure the stolen basis, came back a little bit five stolen basis. But you know what, He's gonna run more this year. You know why because he has an old school manager in Dusty Baker, Who's going to let Alex Bregman run. He posted, you know, a fine one thousand and fifteen ops for the entirety

of the season last year. His plate discipline is ridiculous. Uh he led He was the only qualified hitter with more walks than strikeouts last year. He does not strikeout. He makes a ton of contact, and when he makes contact he posts a career high forty four point seven percent hard contact rate a career high forty five point nine percent fly ball rate. So you're giving me somebody, wait, wait, wait, who doesn't strike out. When he makes contact, makes really

hard contact, puts the ball in the air. In one of the best ballparks in baseball and one of the best lineups in baseball, one of the best cheating lineups in baseball. Hitting right in the middle of all of that is Alex Bregman. He's only getting better. But that's that's the reason you should take Alex three. I just heard from all the other playing all these other people that their guys steals bases. Alex Pregman does do that. Well, here's what you need to know about Alex Bregman Gregg.

He's going to outperform these other three players in basically every other category aside from stolen basis. He's going to be the best one of all these guys in four categories. So outside of stolen bases this season, you look at your stolen basis, you'll you'll get your pose now two vas, your Austin Meadows, whoever it might be. You get legit elite four category production from Alex Bregman gress Where should I go? I need some time to think about this,

and I'm gonna take it. Dan Shawnasteen joins us next to the DFS continue after this. I want to be the next Daily Fantasy Millionaire. We'll take a break and we'll talk Boston Red Sox and what's going on with Mooky bats and we'll do that with Dan Shawnessy at the Boston Globe. Dan, thanks so much for joining us, My pleasure. How you guys doing.

We're doing all right, and in all honesty, we're doing kind of fantastically being in New York and being Yankee fans and trying to figure out what's going on with the Boston Red Sox, specifically in regards to Mookie Batts, who the more you hear, the more you read, it certainly seems like that's is a gonner. How soon is that going to happen? Is it gonna happen? Well? I

think it's going to happen. I mean, no one knows, but it feels like it's it's going to happen, and could happen while we're talking here, or or early next week or who. I would just think they would want to get it done before spring training, and you know, their truck equipment truck left yesterday and the first pitchers and catchers workout is next Wednesday in Fort Myers. They don't have a manager. They're waiting for the cheating allegations

to be adjudicated by the Commissioner's office. So there's a lot going on here, but it's been mostly a waiting game the last couple of weeks, Dan, how did we get to this point, right with someone like Mookie Betts who came up within the organization and wins a World Series with the team and wins an MVP Award with the team as well. You know, how do we get to this point where it seems like, all right, well baseball has changed normally, you know, one player does not

stick with the team the entirety of his career. It seemed like if there was anybody you could see doing it with the Boston Red Sox, it would be Mookie Bets. I know, obviously we've heard some reports about numbers, and Mookie Bets wants more than four hundred million. The Red Sox offered him three hundred million. But how did we get to this point where they cannot retain one of the best players in their franchise, maybe even in their

franchise history. We're being honest, Well, we don't know what the numbers are or have been, or or what the reality is there, but certainly, uh, there's been no public demonstration on on the players part here that he's pledged to give him a hometown discount or wants to stay Red Sox forever. And I understand that he presents the guy who wants to find out what's out there, and

we understand that. So if that's going to be the case, then they roll the dice to have them play here this year and and then they the fifth round pick for him, and that's it. Um, So probably trading, you know, fifty cents in the dollar appears to be what they're trying to do now and cut their losses and replenish the farm system and and go without a player who's going to leave them after next year. Anyway, that's how

it feels right now. Um it's it's it's learning on the on the job by him Bloom, the GM they've brought in from Tampa, and Uh, it's it's quite a quite a charge to start off the season and the career of the new GM with with these kind of responsibilities, because like you say this guy was m VP two years ago. He's kind of the face of the franchise. Now since David o'tis left and very very popular player,

it's going to be not pleasant to deal him. So and just again, we're just trying to figure out why we're talking to Dan Chawnessy here and book best like you mentioned, MVP of the franchise, well liked by everybody if you're a fan of the Red Sox. To me, you read it as all right, they don't want to pay him, and I just John Henry's got bloody money. Why would they just pay him? I think that's fair.

I think that for them to they're gonna hope that the narrative that takes hold is what he wasn't going to stay here, no matter what kind of thing. And to me that the way to test that is to have him play here next year and you know better than himself and have a hell of a year, and then when the year's up, he goes into the market and you compete with him, and you you match the top bid, and then if he still goes then then

all that's true. He really didn't want to be here and he wasn't going to stay no matter what she did. Absent that, I think your your storyline works, and that's what fans are going to react to and say, you know, they chiefed out. They didn't they didn't actively try to compete for their best player, and I think that's what they're going to be stuck with. I will I will say though, that teams are that are really wonderful job

of convincing fans that a player is greedy. Again, you know, being in New York when they needed to get under the luxury tax. Why do they get need to under the luxury tax because they renders that want to pay more money, and that that narrative, Oh we can only

afford ex player or why player. It's not sure there there's a salary to have capture, there's a luxury tax, but it's just money and that for I think a smart baseball fan will be like, well this is ridiculous, and others will be like, all right, well we gotta save money so we can pay this guy or that guy. And I just think I just find it so crazy

when we're talking about billionaires. You know, Yeah, I've always found it interesting that you can bring fans around to that kind of rational ownership kind of thinking where so, well, we don't want to overdo it here like that, Well Talks charge the highest prices in baseball for their seats, and they sell out every game and they have great local revenues. Not quite like the Yanks, but they they do really really well and um and they've they've backed

it up. They've had the highest payroll in baseball last year, so it's not like they they've not been willing to spend money. But this is sort of a critical mass here with this particular player, because he is so popular, has done nothing two in any way diminish his his legacy here or how fans feel about him. So the team is really on the spot here and this is going to be quite a showdown. Then you mentioned this earlier that we're just about a week both here ahead

of spring training. Pitchers and catchers start up next week. On the Red Sox are still without a manager. What have you heard revolving you know, the potential manager of the Boston Red Sox, because it seems like, honestly, we've heard nothing, Dan, It's this is the most bizarre offseason. I mean, I've been around a long time, but really you're a week away top payroll in baseball. You know, World Champions Hunter nine team wins two years ago, and

they have no manager. They're going to trade their best player evidently, and uh, and they're waiting to find out what the sanctions are for the alleged cheating episode of two thousand and eighteen. So it is, uh, it is nutty around here. And the manager thing, it's it's hard for me to imagine that maybe they'll maybe they should just put an interim tag on somebody and have someone

sitt in the chair for a little bit. I think there's a reluctance to stay in the house because of the cheating penalties that might be imposed, and they might have to take out another guy. I mean, they lost their favorite guy, Alex Cora, who was really loved here and did a great job here, but he's gone. And uh, they're they're digging out from underneath. But you know, out of all the baseball they're the only team without a manager. And uh, it's a it's a you know, this is

a big, big brand name team in MLB. It's again another crazy thing of a crazy offseason dn um And it's almost like that almost like it's true they didn't want to fire Alex Cora, they felt like they were forced to. And it almost seems like the same thing with the medicine Beltron. I'm sure they didn't want to

fire and they just hired him. And I think there's all this they want to kind of let time go away that maybe you know, you know, year from now, and Dan's mentioning it, you bring an interim manager and hopefully you can bring Alex core back. That's almost what it feels like, and they don't want to get it wrong because you can't bring in a guy like Jason

Barrettack on an interim tag. He's your guy also, So it's almost like trying to Dan find the perfect candidate that is willing to just kind of step in and hold the fort down until they can bring Alex core back without you know, getting looked down upon by the rest of the MLB. Who can that guy be? Like, who are some names that you've been hearing that could

be the manager at some point? Because spring training starts next week, Well, we believe that, you know, Mark Cutsay came through and interviewed and has has not been offered the job. And there's a there's a coach in Arizona whose name eludes me. He's Colombians. He's not been a big presence in the big leagues, you know, kind of the typical um early forties, analytics driven, you know guy, which I think is is probably the path that they'll take.

They've got internal candidates with you know, Carlos Fables and and Ron Rennicky who's been a manager, but they're part of the eighteen team and if the if the cheating sanctions come down and they're not favorable, those guys could be tainted too by that. The core thing. We don't know what he's going to get from MLB. I mean, he never got anything in Houston because they were kind of waiting on the Red Sox thing. So maybe could slap him with a year or two. No one knows

what that number is gonna be. And he'll probably work in the media and do really great at it in the mean time. But so yeah, and you know, I mean the safe thing like Houston, you know, you go for the grizzled old guy and Dusty, and I'd love it if they did that here with you know, Buck show Walter or Bruce Bochi or somebody. But I don't feel that that those guys are are of a mind to work for sort of this new age ownership and

analytics guys that they have here. So it's uh. The answer is, I have no idea, and maybe we'll know in a week. And the name of the show here is the Fantasy best Friends Forever, and we do focus the on fantasy baseball here. And I was somebody who actually invested heavily in Chris Sale last season, So I wanted to get your thoughts on Chris Sale. You know what happened last year with him? Because aside from the velocity, right, we saw the velocity down for a lot of last year.

Was he pitching hurt? Because a lot of the underlying metrics say that Chris Sale was still really good. He was getting a ton of strikeouts, He wasn't walking batters like he used to, like he ever did, really So I wanted to get your thoughts on what happened with Chris Sale, what went wrong last year? And what should we expect coming into this year. Is he gonna have a normal spring training? Is he gonna be expected to have a similar workload to when he was the workhorse

in years past? What are we expecting for Chris Sale this year and what went wrong last year. Well, I mean, out of the gate, no one saw that coming. And you know, he got the big money before the season, which was a mistake. They didn't need to do that when they did, um and uh. And then he earlier in the year, his velocity was down significantly the first in April, and that that kind of came back, and yeah, you're right, he strikes people out and that's what they

teach around here. They don't want any balls in play, which is incredibly boring, but that's that's what they do, and he's good at it. But the numbers that he put up were astoundingly bad given the weaponry that he has. So where it goes now, I mean, we thought he was he was destined for surgery when we got into July August and that didn't happen. And the reports we're getting a good but I don't think there's a lot of truth telling going on there, and I understand that.

I just I don't trust anything that they say because what they were saying and what we were seeing we're two different things. And I'm just I mean, when he's at the top of his game, he's as good as as they get. We all know that, and maybe that will return, but I have no idea. Maybe he does. A lot of questions still surrounding the balls of red stuffs. We appreciate your time ton trying to figure it out with us, and let's talk to you against you and

all about it. Take care of all right, We appreciate it. When we come back we rive up, today's call this craziness. We'll make a decision. We're all like a decision where I should send my votes to stick around BFF detinue on right after us. I want to be the next Daily Fantasy Millionaire. Talking about Mookie Bets, and I want to pull this back to you, Frank before we continue our caucus. Mookie Bets, you're in the

Draft Champions Draft. You just had that. You just drafted first in the first round, seventh pick overall. You took Mookie Bats. I was shocked to see him there at seven. I mean, he's a guy that should go in the top five and just fall in a seven man. What's going on? Yeah, I'm with you. I like getting the value of Mookie Bets right now. Had picked seven in this Draft Champions League. It's a fifteen team Rhoto draft,

and I ended up taking Mookie Bets. At that point, the first six picks were Mike Trout, Ronald da Cuna, Christian Yellows, Cody Bellinger at four, Garrett Cole, and then Jacob Degram. If de Gram and Bets were both available, would have made that decision a little bit tougher, because I do like grabbing that ace in the first round uh this season personally. But even if Bets were traded right if he goes to the Dodgers or the Padres, they both still have really really good lineups. Maybe not

as good of a hitter's ballpark as Fenway is. I pose this question earlier today, asking why is he slipping down draft boards, and I had a few responses that people expect if he's traded, the run production will come down a little bit. Uh. And the fact that if he does go to the padres, Jay's Tingler is a first time manager. You don't know how much he's gonna let these guys run. So the stolen basis could potentially come back even further than where they already came back

last year for Mookie Bets. So I think those are some of the concerns that people have right now. Greg would you take would you consider Mookie Bets over a Cody Bellinger? I would consider Mookie Bets over Cody Bellinger. Billinger is not a nothing in stolen bases either, by the way, you know he's gonna give you double digit stolen bases as well. I think they're very similar players.

And look, if you want to make the argument that Bellinger has dual position eligibility and the fact that first base is not a very deep position, you know, I could be talked into taking Bellinger over Bets, but I do think that you know, you have to split hairs when it comes down to those two hitters, because I do think that they should be going in this very similar range right now. But if I'm on the clock at four, I'm probably taking one of the starting pitchers,

just personally right going after one of those aces. But let's say both aces are off the board. Let's say Mookie Bets and Cody Bellinger are gone your first seven picks. They're through pro'bab the leading toward a short stop at that point, which means it's time to continue our cauc Is craziness. We're back here, cauc has craziness continues, and I simply don't know what to do. We have four fantastic candidates here, But which one would I take first?

Trevor's story, Francisco leandor Alex Bregman or Trey Turner. I don't know which of the four players to go for. All of the representatives trying to convince me to vote with them, they were great, they were really really selling me. I don't know which one to eliminate. So let's go back around the horn here very quickly. We'll get the final arguments, and I'll eliminate one from my draft considerations.

We first, we go with Alex Bregman. So, just to wrap up our thoughts on Alex Bregman, Yes, he's not going to give you stone base. You can find your stone basis somewhere else. But he is a legit four Gregory contributor, an elite contributor in the batting average, in the home runs, the runs, and the RBI categories as well. Uh makes a ton of contact, great plate discipline, doesn't strike out. Those are reasons why I think the batting average can continue to even get better for Alex Bregman

this upcoming season. What do you say, sir, he's a cheater. They're all cheaters, greg that's your that's all They're all cheaters. They're all cheaters. Then let me go hear more about trade turner. Trade turners no cheater. So look with trade turner. Speed kills Gregg. You want the speed. He's the complete opposite of Alex Bregman. He he's going to give you a forty plus stolen basis and he doesn't kill you

in the power department. Yes, he's not gonna give you thirty home runs like these other guys, but give me the trade off of you know, those guys are only gonna give you twenty two stolen bases. Give me that trade off where he's going to double that stolen based production and he's still going to give you twenty to twenty five home runs this year elite run production as well. That won't complete. Letately kill you in r B I, so he'll give you seventy five to r B eight

d r B I s as well. With a solid batting average. I'd say someone in the two range. You want to speed. Everyone wants speed. Greg the way to do that, Trade Turner, here's my issue rank representative, Franco. Trade Turner, here's what I'm gonna do. It's time you'll eliminate somebody. So, Mr trade Turner, You've been eliminated. Goodbye, and I'll explain why the average is gonna be worse than the other three guys. The power to be worse than the other three guys. R bies worse than the

other three guys. Stole a basis without question, that will be better. The runs will be similar. I think I get more from the other three players. We'll eliminate Trade Turner. Thank you so much, Thank you for Somethingbye. We'll screw you, Greg Susman. That trade Turner talk T Turner, this guy talking. Let you figure it out. Fair enough, Let's move back on. I want to hear more about Francisco Lindor. He missed time, as you mentioned, with a calf injury last year. I

don't free agency's coming soon for Francisco Lindor. Are you one of these contracts on the mine? Guys, M your delegate. Look, we've seen what players of Francisco Lindor's caliber can do in that contract year, So I'm happy you bring that up. Greg, And again, a five category contributor, someone who's gonna give you a little bit of everything. He's still stole twenty two basses last year, even with a calf strain to start the year. The guy is in the prime of

his career. He does not strike out either. Look, you want five category production, someone who's not gonna hurt you anywhere at all, someone who's done it for three straight years, has returned first round value. You want Francisco Lindor. The consistency, the consistency. I love it. Right, even with a calf strain, he was able to do it. I go with Francisco Lindoor, but I do have to hear more about Trevor's story. I felt like Mr Delegate, I had stumped with that

splits you know the road, the whole road. Splits are bad. You've used it against me in regards to Nolan Arnado when as they're doing some research, I realized, fine Alice bragging to someone I'd rather have than No One Arnado twenty five years with Trevor's story, that power speed combination eats deadly. He can run on the road. He doesn't have to just stop. I don't know what to do, fright, Let me hear more about Trevor story. Trevor story again,

this is what you need to hear. Over the past two seasons, there's been just two players to give a seventy plus home runs and fifty plus stolen bases. Christian Yellott, who is going into top three picks and Trevor story. He's cut the strikeout rate. The batting average has been up each of the past two seasons. He's averaged a two nine three batting average over the past two seasons as well. Sure he's gonna have some splits, but if you look at it from last year, he's still hit

eleven of his home runs on the road. Last season, twelve of his stolen bases, twelve of his twenty three stolen bases, as you mentioned, came on the road. So perhaps we can see him run a little bit more on the road where he's not gonna be hitting all those home runs. Well, he'll just get on base, He'll walk a little bit, he'll hit some singles on the road. He'll be allowed to run a little bit more as well. There Greg, much like Francisco Lindor, a five category contributor

for Trevor's Story, but the upside seems higher. I think that we can get legitimately a forty thirty season out of Trevor Story. Or concerned about injuries when it comes to Trevor Story, No, earlier in his career he did have those injury issues, how is he has in this time recently. So if you look at what Trevor Story has done each of the past two seasons, the past three seasons, he has played hundred and forty five plus games in each of those three seasons. So maybe we're

looking at one short eyel stint per year. But you can see the same thing about Francisco Lindor, who heard his calf last year. The same thing about Tred Turner, who's often been been injured. He's been in his career as well. Trevor Story one plus in today's day and age of baseball, that is not a bad amount to get from your first round pick here in twenty again, that is Trevor Story of the Colorado Rockies. I don't care about him. That's fine. Screw you, Greg Susan, who's

that talking again? I'll let you figure it out, all right, fair enough, right, I'm so sorry, but it's time for you to eliminate somebody. I've got to eliminate somebody. Well, that's quite the curveball. I wish, I wish I had a trash can to alert me of that curve ball that was coming. And with that we will eliminate Alex. But why the host? But why speed he kills? And now we are down to two, So follow me, come along with me. We are down to just two players,

two players that will decide everything for us. Will it be right here? Will it be Tever's story Colorado predicted by his delegate? Will that be the guy that we go with as our first pick, or will it be over here? Will we go with Francisco lind or who's in that contract here? Who does a little bit of everything as well, but doesn't play in Colorado? Where right here? Mr Alex regmand delegate? Where are you gliding up? Screw you Greg? All right? So now there's two people telling

me to screw myself. I don't know what to do. Where should we end up? Where should we go? Right here? All right here? I feel like I want to split the delegates, Frank, I feel like I want to split it by the type of league? Is that possible rotistory league in Trevor's story, head to head league points for Francisco landor is that something we can do well? Considering you're the person in charge here, I will let you

make that decison. Well, we can split the delegates. But I think it's time we come to a solution, is it not? I think we should you know what? Unfortunately, the app is not working. We don't have an answer. We do not have an answer. The app is not working. We don't have an answer. To the caucus. On to New Hampshire we go. And would that be a new position? It would be a new position. Everybody wins. You can't

go wrong with whoever you take. How's that is that you as a delegate for both of these candidates, I am a winner no matter what. Great you know what here in the VFS, we don't do that. We we want to satisfy everybody. We want to make sure, we want to make it right. We don't want to make give you all the information that you need in order to win. So for me, if I had a pick between Francisco Lindor and Trevor Story, I'm going with Lindor in a contract year, not having to worry about Colorado.

The streakiness of Colorado players just really destroys me. I think both of these guys are gonna run, and if no Vorado is traded, that could be more pressure potentially on a guy like Trevor's Story, not having the protection of an Arnado. For me, I'm going with Francisco Inndoor. That's who I'm taking first, right, I'm also going to take Francisco Lindoor. But I think it is damn close between Lindor and Trevor Story. I think that you eliminated

the right candidates in this one. Greg Sussman, you look at the batting average for a Story, it has been better than Lindoor. The past couple of years, but he also strikes out more so there's more volatility when it comes to Trevor Story, and outside of last year, Lindoor has been able to stay healthier. Before last season, he had three straight years of a hundred and fifty eight plus games played. I think you can it's a little

bit closer in Rohdeo. I think you can make a closer argument for Story over lind Or in Rodeo because it's the end of the season accumulative numbers there. But you're right. If you do play in head to head, it's a no brainner. You gotta take Lindoor because of that consistency over one Trevor Story. I'll take Lindor in both Gray subst come over here, Frank, you did your singing Indoor. Thank you so much. I appreciate all of your time, all of your hard work work. I am

caucausey now for Francisco Lindoor. Tomorrow, Nick Fole is going to join us a picture list. We're gonna get you the state of the Union regards pitch, Frank Staffole, I'm Grex Sauceman. I want to thank John Blossomakia, Alex Passano and Dan Shaughnessy were joining us. Great night dot Farrell is up next. We're only gonnamorrow. I want to be the next Daily Fantasy Millionaire.
