I slept alright, I had this back injury. Was telling you about an f S T today when I fill it in for Mish for an hour. Um, no worries. I'm playing spike Ball on Saturday. I'm like, what happened to your back? I'm like, yes, and it's strained. Frank, I got a strained back, for sure. I pulled a muscle back here. Greg, all jokes aside, the same thing happens to me. Man, Like, we're not getting any younger. Dude, when does it go away? It doesn't. Your back is

Norman played with Sean McDermott, the head coach for the Buffalo Bills in Carolina, when McDermott was the defensive coordinator. That is your BFF sports grid news update for this hour. Now back to Greg and Frank. All right, welcome back to Fantasy BFFs. We're gonna jump into a ton from
a fantasy baseball perspective today. We're gonna give you some updates on our rankings. How far down are we be moving some of these injured players. Justin Verlander, we got the news just earlier dealing with a latin injury. So he's shut down for the foreseeable future. I'll get into all of that. I'll have a white board for you guys later on in the show, what should you do if you have the six pick in your Fantasy Baseball draft?
Will jump into all of that, but first, it's a snippet from tipt earlier today, Greg Susman with Drew dig Meyer from Delhi Roado dot com talking about Miles Bridges for tonight's NBA Dflate. Moving over to small forward, Miles Bridges is up next for US. Bridges one of those guys all season long, you add and your dropping your season long league dfs. You put him in, then you it's stunk, and then you didn't put him in and he went off. Tonight, We're expecting a big game for
Miles Bridges, or at least we hope. Yeah. I think this is the right type of environment from Miles Bridges. I think there's a couple of things going on in Charlotte's rotation that have helped Bridges to perform a little bit better of late. One of the big things is the fact that you know they've they've smoleek Monks suspension, and as a result, there's been more usage to kind
of go around. They staggered Bridges in Washington a little bit more, splitting up some of that usage, and now you get a great game environment with Atlanta, a team that you know allows the most fantasy points kind of across positions to two opposing teams because they play at such a fast pace that gave up so many steels and blocks. Miles Bridges at small forward is one of those guys that has you know, forty fantasy point outside
and he's probably kind of in the five thousand. So I think attacking that Charlotte Atlanta game is an interesting one tonight, and we'll certainly have to watch the injury report on Atlanta side, but Miles Bridges is certainly one of those targets for Charlotte, and I'm looking to tonight have it Miles Bridges one of the players that we can consider grabbing here tonight in d F fast, I was gonna look at the bucks, Frank, there's no nice tonight,
Eric bless So, Chris Middleton, Brook Lopez, all in play, Acquary, the Drew Digmayer tonight on the oral all are going to step up uh for Janice here. So I went back to back for the Bucks, but you like them all. Chris Middleton's points one game, that's nine game is not in the lineup. Yeah, I remember he had that big game earlier this season where he scored over fifty points in that average. That'll help the average for sure. So yeah, I definitely look at some of the Bucks tonight. Miles
Bridges as well. They're cheaper than usual, so obviously a solid value there as well. Greg, how about this this year for my fantasy baseball home league, we were all assigned a baseball a basketball game, and whoever had the highest point total, we'll get first pick, second pick, so on and so forth, Greg, I had the Bucks and Sons yesterday two d and one. I'm in first place. There's three games left tonight, so there's a chance, but I don't suspect those teams those games are gonna go
over two points. So that means, uh, I have the first pick in my home league. Mike Trout, Christian each wherever I want, Rond the Cooni already kept. I could take a picture, Greg, you do a pictures, probably take an old one too, Not Justin Verlander. He's an old like you don't want to take Justin Verlander over the weekend left the game after two winnings. He was supposed to go for why you asked, because he has a lot strain which came out earlier today, a lot strain
four years ago. I believe we're five years ago now. I cost him a little bit of time. Of course, we know that Luis Savorino's last strain cost him several months last year for the New York Yankee, Justin Verlander was going off the board at picture A number three. Frank, how far down you're dropping Justin Brlander. So I've already dropped him down to SP five and I feel like I'd probably need to drop him a little bit lower, Greg, So we could talk this out in the air right now.
Find out what you do with Justin Verlander as well. But I'm thinking I have to move him down probably closer to the ten mark, probably you know, around that bieber Strasburg Flaherty group, maybe even behind that group as well, because again last strain, you mentioned it what Luie Sabino dealt with last year. Inside Injuries tweeted this out that the Astros are obviously shutting down Verlander. He left to
start yesterday mild last train. This is a tough injury for a picture, and I expect to miss at least the first few weeks of the season, Greg, So you might potentially see him miss the first month, the entire first month. Maybe it's mid April, late April. Nobody knows for sure. And because of that uncertainty, I've dropped him down to five for now, but I'm thinking I'm gonna drop him down to eight. I'm definitely drawing him down to five. I think that's I think that's easy. Fay,
I'm gonna move them behind Biber, Strassburg, Flawherty. You do love those guys. Actually don't love those guys. Is interesting. You don't love Flower, you don't love Strasberg, you love Beaver. I do love Biber. I just don't really like the price on those guys. I think they're a little overvalued in the second right. I think it's hard with verlander Um,
and it's really hard with all these injuries. Like Lake Snell came back from injury and walk forward guys today like a little hit the but he walked forward guys fifteen two pitches, zero point one, no hit anything, Greg bad. He said his arms felt great after the game, he's rearly hit on the gun. He's arm felt great, he said he was throwing awesome, but you know, driving his legs, He's like, this is what springs four? Like I gotta figure it out. But at least mat Orma feels good.
Couldn't locate his fastball at all. No, So, in regards of Verlander, does it come back? Is he's the same guy? Does he lose something? Does he rushed back? And these are the questions to ask yourself, And the same goes for a lot of these injured players, right like is there when you were taking them? Is there a spot where you're like, I don't want to deal with these injuries. I have to deal with injuries anyway. It's like why
bother getting into this versus? This is too big of a discount, Like how do I how do I not take a chance here? Like I may find the league winner by taking injured playing here. My Clevinger comes to mind because he's been injured for a while, he's coming back and maybe he drops too far and I don't know which camp to fall in. Traditionally I've been very conservative when it comes to injuries. Then you get to a point where I'm like, oh, this is silly, I
should take this guy. I'm more like, F'm more likely to take Verlander in a shallower league, like a ten or twelve team league, because it's easier to deal with the injury. Where if you take him in a fifteen teamer, Greg, replacing that starting pitcher spot in your lineup is really really tough in those leaks. It's hard, man, It's hard to figure out health. It's number one thing you gotta think about drafting pictures more all the way. We're ranky's come on next. I want to be the next Daily

Al Right back here on the app absence, I'm Greg Men justin Verlander and where we're dripping him in and regulating point in the break, because I said, as we're going to break, then I would have them at five. I wouldn't drop them too far. And I Frank goes, Lesson, you're driving right now. We have our draft on Thursday. Legitimately, you're driving right now. Are you taking Berlander ahead of Javer, Jack Flaherty, or Steven shosh
And or Steven Shossbrook. My answer was, now, I would take all three of those guys ahead of Verlander right now. Then he goes, Okay, what about the next Trude, the Patrick Corman, the Blake Snell, the his boy Charlie Morton like that kind of those guys. I think I would take Verlander ahead of them. He goes, then you have him at eight, And you're right, Frank, I do have him at eight. Then, um, that's what I would do right in this second. You're absolutely right, So fair enough.
When it comes to Justin Verlander, let me move um and go in a different direction. And I want to go with a positive rankings mover. And that's Jese's Lazardo over the weekend, and you and I had talked about this a bit. This morning, Lozardo was filthy as he has been all spring long for the aids, and he was filthy last spring. He's now filthy this spring, and he has a lot of people talking about how good he is. I have Haze's Lozardo ranked as my thirtieth
starting pitcher on the board. You know, I I love Haze's Lozardo. Um, but we're seeing that price certainly climbed for him, both in auction values and in overall rankings. Uh. Or in this month over at the NFBC, he's costing me about fourteen dollars. Uh. He's the hundred and eleventh player off the board at this moment. Is Hazel Lazaro
getting too expensive for you? Frank? Yeah? I think he is, Greg, And you know, I have bummed him up slightly in the rankings, But all along I kind of knew that I wasn't gonna wind up with a lot of Hayes's Lazaro shares, Greg, because I think he's gonna keep climbing and climbing. And we have the NFBC main events this weekend, and I think he's gonna wind up being a top thirty, maybe even a top twenty five starting pitcher drafted six
seventh round, whatever it might be. I have him at SP thirty two, and I think that's a good spot to have him. And you know, over to the weekend, we saw the adp climbed to one oh eight. So he's a thirty fifth pitcher off the board board. But consider that there are closures that go ahead of him as well, so Taylor, Rogers one, Hendricks too Soon at three, Chapman four, Yates five, and then Hate or six, so that actually puts him at nine off the board. Great,
he's already inside. He's already inside the top thirty. And I'm telling you this weekend, Gregg, he's gonna be closer to So I have him reluctantly at thirty two. I have him, you know, just ahead, I have Montas Freed, Gallen Lament, so Rocca, Zach Wheeler, and Matthew Boyd. I have Lozardo ahead of every single one of those players, dam And I've had it like that, right, But you have other players ahead that just I don't agree with,
like like Bower and Clueburn, those guys. I have lower Rasco tremendous And I literally literally was about to say I have to lower Karashka. Dealing with elbow inflammation, himself. No, thank you. I have to lower Carrasko. I gotta lower a wheeler. It's hardly gonna be in my top twenty five boards. Also hadn't done Lozardo. Yeah, I looked at me, and you just see this a little bit differently because I like Lozardo and I when he's on the mound,
he's gonna be really, really good. He at eight strikeouts this weekend, like three and a third endings pitched against Seattle Mariners, mid nineties fastball, change up, slider combination. Um, he's got the secondary pitches, he's got the poise, he's got everything that you want, except potentially the endings. Greg. So that's where you and I differ a little bit here.
Y gradersigned quantity. Frank. Look, even if even if Freed or Gallen or Mantas are not as good on on a per ending basis, I I suspect all of those guys are probably going to give you thirty to forty more endings pitched in Lazardo this season. I don't think he's giving you much more than one thirty. And we didn't talk about They haven't talked about this player. It wasn't we were at schedule to talking about this player today. We know Tyler Glass now, We're not talking about Tyler
Glass now very much at all. Like he's sitting here a number twenty six in my ranking, so I just let his name pop up. He's one of the players, Greg, that is obviously risk reward, and I wanted at least a few shares of him in case he does pop off, because he has that potential. There's no doubt about that. Like,
the guy was a lecture last year. Um, he had like a sub two e r A. But the injury risk is real, Greg, I mean he dealt with I believe it was like a flex or mass last year or something in his forearm elbow area, Like it wouldn't surprise me one bit if he's a month into the season, he's shut down for the rest of the year and he season ending surgery. Like that's the type of risk
that comes with someone like Tyler Glass now. But the upside is if he stays healthy for a hundred and fifty plus endings, he's probably a top twelve starting pitcher. So I'm kind of splitting the difference here, Greg and I haven't met twenty one, so to me, right after that group of Nolah, Syndergard, Granky Paddock, who those guys, um, you know, routinely going in the fourth, fifth round range. After those guys go Tyler Glass. Now is the next
starting pitcher up that I would target. I have him just ahead of Brandon Woodruff, just ahead of Jose Barrios, just ahead of Sonny Gray, all the hype guys as well. Um, And I'm really just kind of splitting the difference because I think the upside is massive, but I also think the floor is you know, he's out for the season and doesn't give you much more than like ten stars asked me that same tier with Sonny Gray, Josie Barrios, Um,
Trevor Bower for me, not for you? I know which well have the weekend though last that was not I've said this about a lot of players. He's not an active targetive targets, not an active target. All right, Greg, what would how would you like me to friend? I want a name. I want to name our team active target. Yeah, target side the active target. Oh dude, we should get like the target that was easy button I have that's
a Staples. Yeah, I screwed that one up, Dude, that would have been great if every time we went a player at the auction that was easy we could. We could still do that, yeah, but it would have been better if it was target. Should I bring the button? Sure? Let's have find a way for them to hate us even more. Mind you, there's a fifteen team auction that we participated in every year, the Gotham Diamond District. Some real heavy hitters in this league. Derek van riper Cardi
does projections, so the heeny he hates us. The BFFs draft Zack Gallen, let's go. I'm down. Oh it's so good. Can you take this? I don't forget? Yes, perfect, putting it in the book bag now, I mean fantastic. I can't wait to do that. We really should get like a target and like a dartboard. We should do it. Say we'll put it, will put a hangover? Um, no, I can play darts. You're not good at right? Okay, we should put it like where the white board is?
We just active target? Who are Greg and Frank's active targets this year? The Great show Man Ran Reynolds Safari Planet. Too many, too many ideas, too late? Um, the not an active target target here? So guy. Let's look at some other players whose values rising and falling. That includes the Yankee outfield of Jean Carlos Stand and Aaron Judge. Stanton's working his way back from a calf injury. U seems to be making good progress, but we've seen this
before with Stanton. Aaron Judge we found out I guess it was Friday, an Friday or Saturday. Um, but he's got this thing going on on and they're waiting two weeks to see if, like, hey, maybe it'll make it better. Even though he's rested for like six months, these two weeks will determine whether he needs surgery or not. Uh. Inside injuries, Virginia Zaka is uh speculated that they could be out, he could be out for period of months. Yeah,
he's of course, they're not going that far yet. I know Aaron Judge was not an active target of yours previously, But how far is he's dropping inside your rankings? So I moved him down to outfielder thirty eight, Gregs, so
I have him very low. Over the weekend, we saw the ADP at outfielder twenty eight, So still about ten spots higher in ranking than than I am comfortable taking going to just ahead of guys like in four Oh, Friend Milrays, Michael Brantley, all outfielders that I do like the season, Jean Carlos Stanton is going one outfielder spot higher. My question where Gean Carlos Stanton have Stanton at thirty one? So I do feel a little bit better about where
Stanton is going. But great, I mean, why take the risk on power hitting outfielder and Stanton who has a calf injury right now when you can get friend mil Reis twenty picks later. He's healthy right now and he's mashing in spring, so his upside could be that he has forty five home runs as well, So why even take the risk on Stanton or Judge? At that point, I agree, I just did it. I'm more likely to take stand. That's where I've kind of I'm more likely
to take Stanton than I am judged. Oh that's fantastic, Frank, alright, So I just I just redid it as we're on the air because I'm listening to Frank. Here we go, h I now have Stanton at twenty eight and Judges of twenty nine. That's where they ended up. Oh wow, Greg, Well, don't want an FBC A d P. You know were there, look Stanton and jud That is where I just where
I feel comfortable. Another name that was actually thirty one on the list, thirty one and thirty two and thirty three only crap, h thirty one and thirty three on my list. All uh have numbers that are probably going down right now. Frank Train, Mancini, Oscar Mercano, and Willie Calhoun all over the weekend get hurt. Mercado has a wrist injury actually were negative of. Hopefully we're back in the lane this week. If that remains the case, I won't move him. Willie Calhoun got hit in the face
broke his jaw. That's annoying and horrible for him. And then Trae man Cini has this pretty serious undisclosed injury where his teammates are like wishing him well and hoping he gets back soon. And I don't know what that is. That could be anywhere if I'm not trying to joke, like anywhere like a coronavirus thing to something significantly more serious, and it's very very scary. Where do you have Trae Mancini, Oscar Mercado and Willie Calhoun now in your rankings, So
I moved Oscar Mercado down. I had him around thirty and I moved him down to thirty seven. So oncepot ahead of Aaron Judge, I'll take I'll still take a chance on Mercado. I don't know how far he's going to move over the weekend. His a DP was at outfielder thirty three, so maybe I could jump in there. Obviously, dealing with the rist injury, he's day to day. You know, doesn't sound too bad, right, sounds it sounds like you
got away with it. It sounds like all the other player as we're talking about here, Greg are at a
much higher risk Willie Calhoun. We don't know what the timetable is gonna look like, but he fractured his jaw, and I just feel so bad for Willie Calhoun because this was the opportunity he was finally going to start Opening Day, be the left fielder, no one standing in his way, hit twenty one homers and like eighty games last year, I really thought this was the year Willie Calhoun to seventy plus batting average, thirty plus home runs, hitting in the middle of a solid lineup with the
Texas Rangers. And now we don't know what the timetable looks like, but fractured jaw. I've seen some people speculate six weeks Greg, So that would put him at the middle of April, the end of April. Maybe this is the whole first month of the same. And it's like I dropped him down to i'll feel eight and I have Mancini one spot behind him at forty nine. Same same. It's actually crazy. I just absolutely just did it. Yeah, Calhoun at forty eight, Man at forty nine. Hopefully get
more information. Shout out to Mancini. Hope he's all right, you know, just wishing him well his family as well, because I and I think the way you illustrated that Greg was perfectly. We just don't know what's going on with him right now. We know, of course, Chris sale We've talked about him and what's going on. I don't really want to touch Chris sal Um. Nevertheless, I moved Christal to move them down to a hundred and thirty three. What is actually right? Oh great, we're not far off.
I haven't at forty two. How about Blace, No, Greg, let's round it all out. So I previs said Blake Snell at number nine for me right, I could see me somebodyself moving in fourteen, so I'm probably not gonna have too risky man. He's back, He's healthy. Back with you here on BFFs Dregs, I's gonna live Scott Parrell Mafia will be out in Jersey with him, so it should be a fun show. The Scott Westel during the program
in our number two You're on the BFFs. We will get back tomorrow to some of the movers and shakers up towns. We like to call it in the rankings of players that are moving up and down based upon where what they are doing in spring training. But right now a lot of people have asked, Hey, I had the number six pick, what do I do? The top pictures are probably off the board. Potentially you're not are
your choice of pictures is probably pretty easy. Um, but maybe Voiceley it's it's not Maybe we should have done like pick eight. Frank may pick nine realistically pick nine tomorrow. All right? Is that all being said, it's time to go with the lightboard series. Here is Frank Stample. Thank you, Gregg. That was a fantastic introduction here to the white board series today. Uh, here's the six pick. Maybe we should have an eight or nine. We'll do it tomorrow. Thanks Greg.
That was was fantastic. In case any of you missed the other white board series that we've done or when I've done this throughout the fantasy football season, what I like to do is draft three different teams. So I'm gonna give you the first three picks in fantasy baseball from the six pick. Uh, And this is basically how
I would like to start the team. And you build out your base and and uh, you know, for the rest of the draft, you're set up nicely and you can kind of go in any direction that you want to. When I did this for football, normally I would just do two to three teams and kind of picked them up against each other. Today, I'm gonna do one in Rhoto,
one in head to head points. Obviously, there's people who playing in all different types of formats, so I'm gonna try and cover as many basses as I possibly can. Hear Greg, So we'll start things off with the number six pick, and I will be operating under the assumption that in Rhoto pitching is getting pulled up the board
right now, obviously the Justin Verlander injury. I'm going to assume that the top three hitters the top two pitchers are gone when it comes to the Rhodo side of things here, which means you'll have your decision between Cody Bellinger Mookie Bets. Greg and I have argued over this in the past. I prefer Cody Bellinger over Mookie Bets, but I think you can go with either one of them. Obviously, both are five category contributors and just contribute across the board.
Give you it's all betting average home runs obviously, the power of the runs, the r b i s and stolen bases as well. Mookie Bets probably give you, you know, five to seven more steels and someone like Bellinger. But Bellinger had fifteen stolen bases last year, so uh, you know, in the middle of that first round, you grab one of him or Mookie Bets obviously set yourself up quite well across the board from a Rooto perspective, taking either
Cody Bellinger or Mookie Betts on this side. Greg in head to head points league, I have stressed over and over that you need starting pitcher. I believe when I did the first pick here, I said, yeah, you should probably take one of you know, Garrit Cole or Jacob Degram with the first overall pick. They just scored so many more points than the top scoring hitter. And this is going based off of the CBS Sports head to
head points scoring format that they use. There's like three points for a quality start, five points for a win, whatever it might be three points or an ending have a point for a strikeout. But in the league's I play. In the head to head points leagues, the pictures typically outscored the top hitters and it's not necessarily close. So take your pick, whether it's Jacob degraam Garrit Cole. Uh, let's just assume Jacob Degram has gone already, or vice versa,
whatever it might be. Whole I'll even just put the Graham here whoever is available between the two at pick six. Obviously, I do want one of those guys, and honestly, if they're both gone by picks they I probably would pull even another starting picture up the board, whether it's a Walker Bueller or whether it's a Max schers or probably Max Scherzer project a few more dings for him and the volume and had to add points League is so
so important, So GARYT. Cohler, Taco de Graham or you know, if those guys are gone, I'm probably gonna pull pull one of Walker Bueller or Max hrs or up the board here, Greg, any problems thus far outside of the fact that you like Mookie Bets over Cody bet Yeah, I think be Bets over Cody Bellinger. The nice job explaining here at six, Hey to Graham and Coley, expect to be gone in that format, which is why you're
taking Cody Bellinger there at six and the points format. Um, if Bullen were still there, I think what's really interesting is that you're still pulling a picture up the board, whether that's Bueller or Shuts are depending on who whom you like. Um. For me, I think the best player available right is best player available. I think Frankie. If Colin de Graham are both gone, I think it's Francis Lander like I think that of the guy I'm thinking
at six. If the two top pictures are gone, I don't I get what colon the ground was like that much better than everybody else and me and Shuts has been there, Formula could generally enter that territory. But I think that I lean Lindoor over Yeah, and Lindora is honestly a better player for Rhodo than he is for head to head points leagues, obviously because he contributes town basis Tolen bases don't really matter much in a points
league perspective. Francisco Lindora? When where? What are you talking about? I don't know the auction in the auction, Well, if you want to spend you know, thirty five or more dollars on our top hitter, Greg, then sure we could jump in on Francisco lindor Wait, alright, something you can think about here, Greg. Let's move on to the second round. Whether it's Cody Blinger, whether it's a Mookie bets, I am going to want to grab at least one starting
pitcher in the first two rounds. You know, if you're playing Rhodo and one of the gram or Cole fell to you, then I think you can take that starting pitcher. But assuming that they're gone, you take the hitter here in the first I do want to get a starting pitcher in the second round. I need one of those workhorses. I need an ace and to me, Shane Bieber is that next man up. And according to the nf b c A DP, Shane Bieber is still available at this
point in the draft. What he did last year over two dings one of fifteen pitchers who did that, you know, close to two d and fifty strikeouts last year. Uh. The guy is just amazing, Shay. He's having a great spring so far as well, apparently working on his changeup. He's developing that the fastball has been the issue for Shane Biever per hour. The breaking stuff is great, the slider of the curve ball they all progressed last year.
Now working on his change up as well, So if he has a legit four pitch mix with three off speed pitches that he can throw for strikes that he can get swings and misses on. I think Shane Bieber maybe he is even better than he was last year.
I don't mind taking him in this second round range. Again, with all the injuries to starting pitchers, I want to make sure that I get at least one of those workhorses that's going to give me two hundred plus endings, and I do expect that out of Shane Bieber here as well. Going back to the other side, head to head points league, according to the ADP, you can actually get some really really good hitters here in the second round range, Greg in the middle of that second round,
which projects four pick eighteen. Again, this is in a twelve team league. To take Gary Cole or de gram or a Walker Bueller or Suser if these two guys are gone. The reason why I see should take a starting pitcher in the first because the hitters available in
the second are really really good. So whether it's a Bryce Harper, yes, I know he's moving up draft boards right now, but I don't think he's gonna move much higher than around pick eighteen, which is the middle of the second round, or even according to the NBC ADP. Well like Alex Bregman. If you get either one of these guys. Bregman was the top scoring hitter in head to head points leads last year. Just hits a ton of doubles. I'm not really worried about the whole cheating
scandal when it comes to Alex Bregman. Just lifts the ball, hit pulls it. Hit so many balls to that short porch in left field. With the Houston Astros again batting average, great play discipline. He was the only qualified hitter who had more walks than strikeouts last year. That helps you in a head to head points leave format as well. Greg, So we'll jump back in. Get you involved here, Greg,
body Balinger Shane Bieber in the second round. Whether it's a Strasburg or maybe you like a Jack Flaherty more, you can go in that direction. I have Shane Bieber now as my SP five with the injury to Justin Verlander. On the other side, Greg, I want to take a starting pitcher in a head to head points league in that first round, and then in the second round you're still exposed to a really, really good hitter in one
of Bryce Harper or Alex Bregnant. Yeah. So if Bryce Harvor Alex Bregan are on the board there in the second round, you're right that that's an awesome, awesome spot, uh in the six in the second round to get one of these guys. And these are players that we've talked about. Bryce Harvard now going in the first round of these fifteen team NFBC draft. Bregman is a guy. Uh, then I think you can certainly take at the end of the first round in a twelve team league or
a thief teen team league. I like Alex Bregman. I think that um kind of about your valued a little bit. This week is year because all the astro stuff going on. I like both of these players, Frank at this spot in the second round there, Shane Bieber, Jack Flaherty. I can get one of those guys in the second round. That's a no brainer. I really like it. All these teams going out all right, here we go, so we'll move on to the third round as well to hair
with Cody Bellinger and Shane Bieber. Uh. And there's a group of middle infielders that I just love going in this range Greg this year in the third round. That's why in most of my drafts. I don't really mind taking a starting picture early because you have exposure to guys like Javier bays guys like Ozzy Albis as well. I spoke about Javier Bayez in the past during the whiteboard series. If you wanted to take a short stop here, he would be the option for me in the third round.
He's my uh, you know, right behind Fernando Tatis and that whole group, the top short stops, the elite shortstops. Javier Bias would be the one. But let's assume that he's done, or that we want to attack positions scarcity instead, and you can look at a second basement and my top second basement, Gregg, as we spoke about when we previewed the position, is Azzi Albis at second base, someone who I think can give you twenty twenty, maybe even
take that next step this year. He obviously did that last season in terms of the batting average, and I think he's hitting close to three hundred this year. Twenty home runs post to twenty stolen basis. I think there is a next step in terms of this speed. I think he can get stolen basis and we've seen this before. When it comes to stolen basis in fantasy and then
a real life perspective as well. A lot of it is just what is your motive Because a lot of the guys are talented enough to do it, they're fast enough to do it. It's just do they have the green light? Do they always want to run when they're on the base pass? A lot of it is motivation dependent here, uh for stolen basis, And I think Ozzie Albis is fast enough and he has enough talent. It's just a matter of does he want to steal more basis?
So that's something that potentially he could give you. But if you're just modestly projecting, I think you know, coming close to with eight plus r b I S a hundred plus run scored with a good batting average is what you can expect out of Ozzy Albi's this upcoming season, alright, GREGT.
So there's a bunch of different directions that you can go in in the third round here, And I've stressed starting pitching over and over again when it comes to a head to head points lead, I'm gonna pass on a picture and I'll tell you why in a second. And I think you can get someone here like Austin man knows of the Tampa Bay Rays, who another player similar to Ozzie Albis greg where we expect him to
take that next step. We all saw the breakout last year over thirty home runs, good batting average, should hit a ton of doubles, handle himself both against left handed and right handed pitching. The reason why you would pass on a starting pitcher here in the third round is, I'll tell you after the break. Austin Meadows is who you should be targeting if you want to hit her in the third round. Again, I don't worry about playing time.
I know a lot of people might worry about that when it comes to the Tampa Bay Rays, but he's the one person who I don't really worry about him and probably William Domas have the safest playing at time. When it comes to Tampa Bay. There's gonna be platoons everywhere else. Vanni Margo, Kevin kier Meyer, Jose Martinez, Yo Ci Suits tou Goo. Austin Meadows is someone who's going to be in the lineup every single day, and he's who He's the hitter I would be targeting here in
the third driver. I think make sense you little bee a little bit power. We'll wrap up today's white board series and send yo home when we come back to BF That right hair. Hopefully there's number nine. They got an interesting and it's okay, Frank, we do that. Whatever your heart desires. Great, Maybe Francisco Lindoor will be there. Pick nine. Well, my goal is that he's not there. Yeah, he's probably not. That's what what's whine flare like? I
thought there was a clear um top eight. I think it's seven. I think that some people are going to make the argument for trade Turner or Trevor story over Lindor. I personally wouldn't I do like lind Or off the board. Yeah, yeah, so I agree, I do have it ranked Lindoor story Turner. But there are people in Rhodo who are going to put an emphasis on Stone basis and are gonna take Trade Turner as the eighth player off the board. I'm not one of those people, but I think it more
so starts after seven. I think it's a very clear top five hitters, but obviously Trout, Akuna, yellowch Bellinger, BET's, and then there's a clear top two starting pitchers with the Gram and Cole. I think that's kind of where we've settled then, and then for me it's Lindora's next at eight, and then nine is where it's kind of interesting, right because like you, like you said, you have the Trevor story there, Um, you know, trade Turner there. I think you have one Sodo there as well. Let's bring
a picture of the board and Walker, Buehler and Mestres are. Yeah.
I think that's that's all fair, and those are gonna be options that people start to look into now because with another injury to Justin Verlander, you know, all this does is it's going to put more weight on starting pitchers moving up early, whether it's Bueller, Scherzer moving more so into the first round, higher up the first round, or even guys like Beamer moving up Flaherty, and it's gonna have a ripple effect all the way down the board,
Chris Paddock. More in all these guys, we're gonna see starts to move higher up in the fourth round, maybe even into the third round as well. But I did leave you with a little bit of a tease before the break on why I would take Austin Meadows and a head to head points leak. We'll get to that too in a second here, Greg, because it still does a little everything. He does a little bit of everything. Great play doesn't win obviously with Austin Meadows doesn't strike
out all that much either. I'm feeling generous, so I'm gonna let's extend this a little bit. Let's go fourth and fifth round as well. Can we just pop on that for a second before before you continue on, Like I think Azzi aldis what makes him so good is
going in the third round. You know what, Meadows are a little bit everything, yet a little more speed out of Aussi Albe's in an amazing lineup out there in Atlanta, And I was talking to during the break about like, Hey, that's the when we go after because it's tough to find speed and tough to find these guys. We did a whole show on to about find these players. It's not not that many of them. Azzi Albis really does
fit that category. And in a roadal league, he was really really good last year twenty four homers, fifteen steels like okay batting average. He does everything across the board, over runs, scored. I light that pick at three, yeah, and second base, Greg, stay with me. Stinks not a good position. And look at how you set yourself up
here from an offensive perspective. Right, if you're in the middle of the draft and you start with Mookie Bets and Ozzie Albi's, you don't have to stress any category for a while because you've set yourself up across the board. Maybe if you take a Mookie Bets and and Azzie Albies, you'll look more for power in those middle rounds. But ultimately I think that you're in a really good position
either way. With Cody Bellinger and Ozzie Albie's probably works out better that way, Greg, that's why you should take Cody Bellinger over Mookie Betts, all right, But in the fourth round here, and this is something I've typically leaned on for a couple of years. I like to have two starting pitchers by the first four media. I'll stretch it to the first five rounds of the draft, but typically I want two of my top twenties starting pitchers. And if that's the case, you do have to target
someone here in the fourth round. And you know someone who I do have ranked inside my top tennis here, Greg can say it with me, Charlie Moore in the old Man, Greg, I mean off a career year with the Tampa Bay Rays in its season with the juice ball, pitching in the American League East against the Yankees, Red Sox and everyone else in that division. Charlie Morton was better than ever and managed to stay healthy for right around two under any's just like one. I believe last season.
Strikeouts are still there. The command got better for Charlie Morton last year. One of the best curveballs in the game. I have no worries when it comes to Charlie Morton, and that is the reason little little that you talk about you have no worries Charlie Morton all as well. Are you concerned at all that Charlie Morton age wise Frank is thirty six years old? Well, does that mean that you have completely you know, taking guys like Max Sures are off your draft boarders six years old? Yeah,
I'm pretty sure he is. Greg. It seems like something that's not Za Granky, completely off your board, Gregg. Charlie Moore is completely off my board. I didn't say that. All I asked is you're concerned that he's thirty six years old personally? No. I mean if you wanted to take someone last five alright, well mid thirties, Greg, But with someone like Chris Pattick, who's also going in this range, how many endings is he gonna throw? One? Eighties? So
you have concern there. Clayton Kershaw has the concern of eight back the past couple of seasons. So everyone in this range kind of has their own concerns. Patrick Corbin, it's deep into the postseason. Last year is coming off the season with a ton of endings. Luise Casteel is the is the command for Luise Castile going to rear its ugly heads. So I think you kind of nitpick for all the starting pitchers in the springes, Greg me, the skills, the underlying numbers are Charlie Morton are what
really stood out. The sween strike rate and you know, the first pitch strike percentage and all the underlying the r A estimators, the Sierra, the X fit, everything there for Charlie Morton. So pretty damn good. Yeah, you know, you look at Morton's numbers. What's cool about him? He's even in the late thirty he's gotten better every single year. You obviously had a lot of injury problems earlier his career.
He was a top prospect for the Braves. At one point the race series kind of got into him and it eventually worked. He pulled it out of him. And now in two years of the Astros and he here with the Rays fourteen wins, fifteen wins, sixty wins and
no wins or lucky whatnot. Beginnings one sixty seven one, the k rate ten and eight three eleven point one walk great last year all the way down to two point six four, even like the xfit was the lowest that we've seen in you know, three or four years now from Charlie Morton, he's gotten better with age, and you know, we have seen a lot of players of their age be successful, not to stay healthy, but like rich Hill came to my was thirty nine years old.
Way he came back at the majors, he was awesome. The only thing I'm a little bit afraid of Charlie Morton is risking to pick this early for him. Um, but other guys doing that range. You mentioned Chris Paddock, Aaron Nola, knows, Synderguard. They all have their awards too. He's is certainly a check mark in their column. But affecting this is the check Martin Charlie Morton's column. Out of all of these players last year, Charlie Morton is the best season, every single one of them, the most
complete season, the fullest season. And it's the biggest question is his age. That's something we're willing to look past. Obviously for you the answers, yes, yeah, And that's why I do have Charlie Morton ranked inside my top ten. I love the value of getting on him this year, whether it's the fourth sometimes even the fifth rate round in a twelve team league. You've seen Charlie Morton, so I'm gonna go, you know, with Charlie Morton on the other side as well, And that was kind of the
tease earlier. Greg, is you know, if you want to take someone like Luis Castillo in the third round or Clayton Kershaw, you just preferred that player over Charlie Morton, and sure, take them in the third round. But to me, Morton is not dissimilar from someone like that and you
can get him around later. So if I can get a better hitter who's available in Austin Meadows, because I don't think he's going to be there in the fourth round, then I'll take him in the third Charlie Morton in the fourth because according to ADP, he is definitely going to be there in the fourth round, whereas you know, someone like Clayton Kershaw, Luis Castillo, they might not be there in the fourth round. And I think they're similar
players and I think you can get similar production. So I don't have any worries when it comes to Charlie Morton here on the head to head point side, going back to Rhodo mentioned, I'll fill out the first five rounds for you and Greg two active targets of mine this upcoming season. Juan Moncada were Manning Machado, and I love the value that you can get those guys right now in the fifth round range. Manny Machado just going
this late. It's it just sounds weird. Last year borderline first round pick disappointed his first season with San Diego Padres. He's gonna give you shortstop eligibility, shortstop and third base. He has dual position eligibility. And you see, you know, you just set yourself up nicely, nicely here in terms of versatility because you have a first basement slash outfielder and bellinger, you have the second baseman. You don't have
to worry about that crap position anymore. And then Manny Machado you can play at shortstop and third and that allows you to take whatever you think is a better steal later. So if you think there's a better third baseman left, you can move Machado to shortstop. If you think there's a better shortstop available that you want to take him, and move Manny Machado to third base. So
it allows you some flexibility in your draft. I do think that he's gonna bounce back, not really expecting much speed this year, Greg, but seven eight steals to seventy five home runs. We have no idea. You gotta manager Jingler is yeah, we don't know if jas Tingler is gonna let these guys run. But um, either way, I think you're probably gonna like five to tentionle On Basis at Manni Machado, which is fine. I'm not really drafting
him for speed. I want him for the power. I think thirty five home runs good RBI is good runs as well, are all reasons why I like getting him in this fifth round range. So I know you love Mani Chado, So there's a lot of Mani Machado in this spot in the fifth round. I think it's a tremendous value. You always want to find guys that have the ability to you jump Browns in the fifth round. Getting any Machado, that's the type of player that you're getting. You.
Aman is another one that's right there that very much could break into that mold, break into being a second three round pick next year. He's got the prospect of pedigree as well. I like both of them. On the other side, here twelve team head to head points league, you set yourself up well, so far you have two hitters, you have two starting pitchers as well. Let's triple down on starting pture take three starting pitchers in your first five rounds. Again, there is an emphasis on starting pitching
here in the Head to Head Points League. And Greig, you know what, We'll take a pick for you and we'll go with Thoor. Noah Sindergard, who's so far does not have a walk this preseason in spring training, uh, you know throughout as we ramp up for the regular season in the spring, no Syndergard. Believe it's like nine or nine, ten, eleven strikeouts, zero walks. The command has been there for him. Those are um, I think there's lots to like about Syndergard obviously, you know, if you
like someone like Aaron Nola. More still available is that Granky who randomly perennially undervalued for a fantasy perspective. He was like a top seven starting pitcher in both head to head points and RHODO last year. So I don't
mind Synderguard, Nola Granky. And you have your top three starting pitchers in most head to head points league, you either start five or six, so then you can kind of you know, you can take some upside with your four year start of four, five and six, or you know, you can just kind of play the matchups, play to star pitchers as well, but you do have that core
the top three starting pitchers. I usually want in a head to head points league three of my top five, Greg, I really want to have reliable players at this position, and obviously have you have two really good anchors in terms of your hitters as well, So you go, Greg, normally only go three on each side. Have you really banging the drum of the mets here, huh, let's go Mets do do do? Yeah, Yeah, it's Graham and Zinda. God, that's the exact whel are the ex met Steven Matt's late. Yeah,
thank get behind that. Zack would burn me last year. Greg, he's out hit to like that. Frank, we're done. We're done with Zach Wheeler. We're back. One might say he's not an active target of mind this Sea rank number six pick nice job. Someone would say it was easy, indeed right, you'll do to take number nine tomorrow. That's on the order, sir, Frank Stanville, I am Grank sauceman. We're all coast coaches up next next to Shaun and Alex downstairs for all of their help. Have a wonderful
