You're listening to the Fantasy Sports Radio Network. Yeah right now, that's welcome you bab Hap your host by Babe from Fie god brob say, Francis Pranice, start a ball, ladies and gentlemen, your BF and with that we will get you inside Studio thirty four. This is the BFFs. That is Frank Stamford. I am Greg Sousman. Frank Gregy. Happy Tuesday, man Um, big day. I gotta find out what happened in kickball last night for you, Greg. But first, how did you sleep? I slept well, I had Uh. It

was very tired. It's very tired. I woke up this morning. I woke up to the big thunder story I was going on outside. I didn't hear anything, and uh, I don't know. Very tired this morning for some reason. Yeah, it's because you played your heart out on the on the kickball field. I didn't play my heart at we one our opening opener last night. Look at this guy. We won nine nothing, so it was nice. Um, I was, I was. I was playing hard obviously, bunch of got

on immediately to lead off the game. I went first the third on a single slid in the third, then slid in a home a little bit later after that, so it was well. I played well. I had wins last night. Do you play on an actual baseball field, so that's why you're out there sliding? Do you wear baseball pants to play kickball? Short slide with shorts? It wasn't playing on sliding, but the play called first slide. I hope you at least wear like no leggings or

long socks or something. Swore shorts. Might My NY's a little bruised up right now. If you slide correctly in shorts, your legs should be destroyed right now. Yeah, it doesn't look too good. Yeah, I mean I wasn't, but I would imagine it's even worse than that. If you're if you're doing the correct list. There's head first slide listen. I can't say anybody else really slot really slid last night. But I honestly, your instincts just take over, you know

what I mean, That's what it was. My instinct took over. I needed to beat a beat a play. The ball was coming in from left field. I was coming to the third base and I slid. The guy stepped on the base and he's like, you're out? Do you know the rules? He kidding me. So you're probably regarded as like the go hard guy. Yeah, well, if I played against you, i'd probably hate No, no, no, no no, I'm not that guy. Okay, that's Jeff. Oh all right, now I probably hate him. Oh you it's despising I played

against him. That's Jeff. All right. Oh well, there's a there's a lot going on in a fancy baseball last night, even though we only had seven games or whatever. Yeah, Bud, you happened last night. A bunch of bud you happened last night. So let's get into it, and let's actually start with what we spent a lot of time on yesterday, and that was the fact that Jordan Hicks is hitting the I l and now we know it's toward UCL so he is out for the years. He's gonna have

Tommy John Serge, who we expect. But the question that we had yesterday was who is going to be the closer. Who's the guy that you have to make sure you

go and pick up well. John Masiliak and Jim Boonen talked about this in Serious Sex It will Be Network yesterday and Mosiliak said this old last night and this morning was that he could have kept pitching, but given the fact that he's, you know, an elite young athlete that does something that is very rare, as hard as he throws, It's just something that they felt like was

a precautionary and smart move. But I was also when I was talking to our trainer this morning, he told me that he would like to at least see how he feels today before looking at what the week might hold. In terms of Mr Gatt, you know right now, I mean, he's been probably our biggest asset in the bullpen, so moving him into the rotation, I think I'd have to twist a lot of arms to get anybody even listen, and I'm not sure they'd be all that open minded

to it. But you know, clearly a talented young man, honestly probably one of the best athletes on our team, and for a pitching standpoint, he's just very aggressive and making the most of it. Does he slide into that Hicks role? Until you have more information on Hicks, Oh, I would think so. Yeah. I mean he's he's finished stamps for us in the past and we have a lot of confidence in all right, So there you go.

That was once again from ELK Radio, Jim Bowden talking to John Aziliak, the general manager or the St. Louis Cardinals. They talked about John gamp moving into the rotation and talk to him about maybe going in the closing role. Now we know when we'll have this with the Mets in the second about how the general manager and the baseball os department has influence over what used to be the manager's decisions, and the confidence brimming from Aziliak saying that,

oh yeah, he's gonna slide into the Hicks role. Very interesting. Yeah, and that's pretty much what we were saying yesterday. Greg. I know you speculated with Carlos Martinez. I think it's still fair to speculate. Carlos Martinez because last year with Mike Schield as the manager of the St. Louis Cardinals, we saw Carlos Martinez take over as the closer late in the season. But you hear it from the mouth of the general manager himself, and it sounds like John

Gant is the guy. So that's what I tweeted out yesterday. I feel like he should be must own right now. And you know, the Cardinals are still right in the thick of things in the National League Central so maybe they go out and make a trade for someone Ken Giles or you know, someone like that, and Alex column A perhaps, but um, as of now, it's like it's gonna be John Gann maybe the you know, working and Andrew Miller with matchups or whatever. I will say this

last night, and this is Laurie I was leaning. Was Rick Hommeil was post dispatch says he expects Carlos Martinez to be the guy. Now. That wasn't Sean Moziliak talking and Mike Shilt the manager talking. That was a beat reporter. And we'll see in the first closing opportunity, hopefully tonight for St. Louis, who comes in in that ninth inning could be mixing matching, but as of now, it's gonna be one of these two guys. I think, yeah, I would again, I would lean with I would leave with Gan.

I think he's the guy, all right. So John Gant is the guy for now in St. Louis. I was last night, Frank, But I do you want to make an aspect. I'm excited about it. George Springer, who's missed about a monk with a severe hamstring strain. He's back activated off the i L this morning. He will be in the starting lineup for Houston tonight as the Astros

continue to get healthy. Colin m Q was also activated off of the i L earlier this morning, and he hasn't seen To get Springer back into your lineup, no, I mean they they kept him out for a long time. I think of you know, they were they were really safe about how they played this with George Springer. Look, if he's active, he's in my lineup. Uh the Astros didn't play last night. So if you play in weekly leagues where you can adjust them up until that team plays,

I would get George Springer in my weekly lineup. I would obviously get him in my uh my daily lineup as well. Greg, what does this mean for the rest of the Houston Astros. I think it means, you know, Kyle Tucker's still not coming anytime soon for people that are stashing him, But that probably means less playing time for like, I guess those fringey guys, right, Ny Camp, Jake mri is that guys like that correct? Because you

know every day Michael Branlely is gonna play. You know every day You're Sprcker is gonna play, and you know, for the most part, John Redick shouldna play, um and you're also gonna have your on Albros DH every day. So it's who's left, right Like that ultimately becomes the question what playing time do you have for the Marisnicks of the world, for the Tony Camps, for the Josh Reddick potentially, Springer's gonna play every day, Branley is gonna

play every day. Wait's hitting, You're done, You're done. Alvarez is gonna play every day. So it's what's left scrap heat, But you're you surprised that they haven't called up Kyle Tucker, especially with Springer being out as long as he was. I mean, they're still playing Tyler White at first base. And I know he hit a grand Slam against the Yankees on Sunday, but for the most part, he has

not been good this year. Me personally, I I feel like they should either use your Don Alvarez at first base or maybe even a Reddick or you know, try and get Kyle Tucker up into their lineup. I just find it weird that they haven't really given him an opportunity, unless you think that they're holding out for potential trade at the deadline, right like if they need another arm as Kyle Tucker part of that move something like that. Well, I don't think that's something them calling him up because

you want to showcase him potentially in the major leagues. Um, but I thought that. I just think there wasn't enough spot a spot for him, Not that you can't create a spot, but like they like guys like Tony Camp, Jake more Is, it has been on this team forever. So I know as fantasy owners, we want to disregard these team oriented guys, these fringe guys. The Astros did it, and you're Alan Alvarez forced his way into the lineup and all he's done his hit Kyle Tucker had the

same shot. Don't forget that that you were not Alvarez at last year he didn't perform. And I know they're not writing Kyle Tucker off after a month's worth of games, but that that kind of needs the truth. So I don't know that Kyle Tucker's coming up any times soon. I don't. I don't know either. I don't know because it's just it's I thought they would have done it. You know, with the George Springer injury going down, we're speculating that at the time. I don't know what's gonna

happen here. I guess you know they're not. They're not rushing to get back up. You're right. I mean, they gave him a chance. Last year. He played twenty games in the majors. Obviously, you know, twenty games of super small sample size. This isn't completely indicative of the player he's gonna be at the major league level. But he only hit one forty one with a four thirty nine OPS last year in those twenty eight games. But you know, Kyle Tucker got off to the slow start. This year,

he has he has righted the ship. He's sitting two eighty one at triple A with twenty three home runs and seventeen stolen bases. So he's he's absolutely turned it on in the month, in the months of May and June, I just find it really really surprising that the Astroids haven't given him a shot. Absolutely, and Kyle Tucker not coming up, I believe anytime soon. Imagine the Mets and

I mentioned their issues off the field. Right after getting away from the controversy with the press, it comes out that Broodie van Wagon and thought there was a hip issue with Jacob Degram and basically called into the cubhouse when they were in Arizona, saying pull Jacob Degram right now, and he Callaway said okay, and he did. The Mets, as they tend to be every June or so, a bit of a dumpster fire, the New York mess that many many New York teams, But right now it's the Mets,

and it's one thing after another. I'm actually very surprised that he still has a job, Mickey Callaway in all honesty, and that really surprises me. Um, but he does. And the Mets once again last night. Joe Girardi, Joe Girardi is a lock to the Mets. Isn't that great? No, it's not gonna happen. No way. Where do you think Joe Girardi ends up next Hubs? Cubs? So you don't think they're bringing back to Madden after this contract which ends at the end of the season. I do not

think so. I mean, Joe Madden is gonna get a job somewhere if he wants it. He wants it. You don't think you want you don't you think he's done something like that. I think you can see Joe Madden want to just like Joe Maddens Corps used to say, it is about Joe Maddie. He loves to hear himself talk. He just goes and hears himself talk commentary somewhere broadcasting career. Yeah, if if he doesn't want it, Like to me, Joe Girardi could have had the Nationals job. I think he

could have had a Hardinal's job. And I think that I don't know that he What else would he be waiting for because those are two pretty good jobs, you think? So to me, the Mets are out there and the Giants are out there. Do you want to go to San Francisco? I don't think so he's a more a Midwest guy. He's a comes guy man. Like to me, it's a match made in heaven. Maybe he's a couple of manager next year. All right, well we'll see what happens. Yeah, I look, I can't disagree with you when it comes

to the Mets. It's just we're here in New York, so we we see it a lot more. We hear it a lot more. We see it in the tabloids too. It's just they can't get out of their own way right now. It's like it's one step forward, two steps back for the Mets. And you know, it doesn't help that obviously they're losing games. We know that, like a lot of organizations are now run by like their front office,

their their baseball operations. I mean, we joke about it earlier on in the year that, uh, Aaron Boone isn't the one making the line up for the Yankees, that it's coming from above him, Brian Cashman. So that was one of them, and that was one of the reasons. Remember that the Yankees moved on because they wanted a major influence over the manager, over the lineups. Over overall, thet. Girardi was not leting that happen and they complain whatever

they wanted. And part of that blame came on his relationship with Gary Sanchez and the way he treated Gary Sanchez and some of these other younger players that he didn't relate to them as well as some of the older players. And there is something to be said that you needed a new voice, that that voice has been in the Yankees organization for ten years. It was just

time for something new. And I think Girardi needs to go somewhere where he is that new voice, where his old school he ways will work for a lot of these teams going with younger managers, first time managers that want the influence or that will get the influence from the front office. The Dodgers, the Rays, the Phillies come to mind. They can't hire Joe Girardi anymore. Joe Girardi is I don't want to say a dying breed, but he's old school and not every organization wants an old

school type manager. But he does have some analytics in that binder of his creed. We know that whatever you wanna call that. Yeah, I mean he'd probably fit in well with the Cubs. I mean a lot of those guys are you know, veteran esque players. They've been around for a while. So we'll see what happens. It's all speculation. We'll see what happens with Joe Girardi if he even wants to manage again. He's doing a pretty good job on the MLB network, you see him there all the time.

So yeah, well we'll see what happens. And I think, you know, for the for the Mets, Greg do you think, I mean, why does if Brodie van Wagen even did that, right, why does he do that? Is because like they signed Jacob de Graham to the extension, like they don't want him to hurt himself. All those things come to mind, but to me, to me, it also says you just don't trust your manager, which is another issue entirely exactly. The Mets manager last night let his team to a

defeat at the hands of Philadelphia Phillies. They lost thirteen and seven. It was bombs away last night in Philadelphia. Stephen Maths and Zach Ethlyn were just allowing home run after home run and double after double. That's allowed seven runs in over four innings of work, ten hits or he walks in a strike amp. Zach Ethlyn allowed actually more hits eleven hits in his five things x runs and four strikers also left three home runs six home runs combine between the two starters. I watched a lot

of this game, and it was disgusting, disgusting affair. Ultimately, the Phillies put up thirteen runs to mentionally put up seven. They fell out a thirty seven. Two Phillies approved to forty and thirty eight. Yeah, I mean it wasn't a disgusting affair. If you had the over in this game, great, that looks really good right now. But yeah, Stephen Matts, I think he's droppable in twelve team leagues. Maybe you hold on to him in deeper formats. You can stream

him in the right spot. But he walks too many guys. He doesn't get enough swinging strikes to mitigate that. Uh, he's giving up a ton of home runs this yere. His home runs per nine are up over two so far this season, which is like the third highest among starting pitchers. Zack Flynn. Look, I spoke about him last week or two weeks ago as a potential sell high candidate because I think some regression is coming. I think we're starting to see some of that regression right now.

Five innings, eleven hits, six earned runs. Last night for zach Eflyn, I didn't want to talk about some of these Phillies hitters. Greg, your boys he's are Hernandez. I hope you kept them around. I did, because multi hit games in four straight now with the batting average up to two eighty. Uh. And if you remember last week when you asked me him or come on Visio, I said, let's keep sees her nand Is around for a few more days. See if you could turn around if he doesn't,

and then you can look into dropping him. So good thing. Good bye you for not dropping sees on her Nas. And I think that makes a lot of sense for anyone else out there who plays, uh you know, end Points Seas or O B p Leagues, because that's where she's our her name is is at his best, great Gett, they're stolen basement cays over last night his fifth of the year. Scott Kingary still his fourth of the year. So many home runs were hit. Reese Hoskin has made

a seventeen that's actually infuriated. We flew out like the warning track. Uh. Later on in the day. Jay Bruce has been great, Jean Sigura as well. Over to the Mets, Todd Fraser has been very, very hot. I know you've spoken about that before, and we actually picked up Todd Fraser. We dropped Todd Frasier. But the average off to seventy one now for Fraser, O BP is three fifty eight. He's got two hits in each of his last three games. He's got a home run and three out of his

last five. He's hot, Yeah, he is. He's actually sacrificing a little bit of the power this year in order to make more contact. That's why you see the batting average up to two seven one on the year. Shout out to Matt Modiki yesterday he said pay attended to Todd Fraser, who was hot. Adimo right on the head Todd Fraser ding ding last night. We'll take a break. When we come back. We hit up the other New York teams New York Yankees who home over the seven

consecutive game last night. Break that down. Give me the call from John Sterling. Next Daily Rodo dot Com learned from the game's best DFS players. We don't just give you advice. Would never really worked out, really worked out with him with the Giants. I don't know, but Dubber was just so poor. He was not playing well at all. That was one of my sleepers going into the year. I thought, this is twenty steals to fifty, not even coming close, and doesn't look like a major league player either. So maybe takers and takes the ball

I wanted to do actually before we continued on Bryce Harper last night when two or five had a couple of doubles, I believe

or the yeah, a couple of doubles. That's right, I so long they're really really far hit Gee Scarrow went four for six with color unscored in a couple of rv is. Both these players Franks need to be heating up. Yeah, I did just want to mention these guys real quick. I mean Bryce Harper so far to see, he's in the swinging strike rate is a career worst fifteen point one percent. His strikeout rate is a career worst twenty

seven point six percent. If he gets those down to his career marks, guess that strike out right down to his career you two percent? Then you know, right now he's hovering around a two fifty batting average. But I think that would climb up to, you know, the two seventy eight range if you if you cut your strikeout rate by six seven percent, it can actually influence your batting average that much. So if you could still buy low on Bryce Harper, I don't know if you can,

because he started to heat up a little bit in June. Uh, that's something that I would look into doing. And then for Jean Sigura, Greggy four hits last night, as you mentioned, batting averages up to two seventy seven, the babbit is two nineties six. Yet over the past three seasons that the lowest his bab was throughout that stretch was three. The lowest batting average was during that stretch was three hundred. So I would say, you know, Jean Siagara another one

of these guys. I think a lot of these Phillies are gonna start to come around as the weather continues to heat up. It's gonna be very very hot this week here in the Northeast as well, So I think that's why you're starting to see some of these balls flying out even more than they were before. I mean, so many home runs hit last night, so many runs

scored in that Phillies Mets game. Uh and and with Jean Siagura, you know, kind of somewhat struggling to start the year, still on pace for sixteen home runs, runs scored, uh sixties, seven RBI, ten stolen basis. So for anyone who out out there who was questioning the stolen basis Gregg and the Gave Kapitler philosophy and the Philadelphia Phillies, I think you might have hit this one on the head.

I don't know that Jean Segura is gonna steal many more basis this year, but the fact that he's been batting anywhere from like two to five in the lineup, you might see an increase in the county stats and runs in RBI, so hopefully he can make up for that. But you know, admittedly I was hoping that he could go anywhere from like fifteen home runs twenty stolen basis.

It's looking doubtful that he gets a twenty stolen basis greg which sport was part of his value here of course during draft season was those twenty stone based expectations. It does not look like Jesusur was going to get there, at least with this philosophy here, with gave Kavler and the run that he seems to be on. I mentioned going in the Yankees last night. Uh, they defeated the Grogo Blue Jays by the score was tending to eight. It was much closer. That score was much closer than

the game probably was. Johnathan Holder allowed of five runs in the eighth or all this. Chapman allowed one of the night. But the Yankees homer for the twenty seventh consecutive game that he's tied for the MLB records of the most with the two thousand and two Texas Rangers, and their first blast was a no doubter by Arrant Hicks for the fifth homer of the year. I was shot to the abatting third and he came through with that massive blast. The second one was also massive, three

run shot. It was Jean Carlos Stanton's first of the season and that sounded like this, well, Greg, I thank you, hit of the year in the left center and hit us high, hit us far is god, Oh what a home run over the loading dog end of the crowd. Jean Carlo hits his first home run of the year. Gian Carlo and luci Poscarlow, here's a three year run home run. And that of course courtesy John Sterling is

calling Yankees Radio Network. Now. CC Sabathia for the Yankee six and six hits two runs, sure got nine here walking to so now that he's never gonna go super deep into games, you know you're only gonna get five or six innings. But the r A for Sabathias sits at four point zero four. In the American League, pitching is always tough to come by. What do you think about ccs Bathia from a fantasy baseball perspective, I think it's a lot of smoking mirrors. But to be fair.

Over the past three seasons, he's been able to out pitch his peripherals. He's doing his best Marco Estrada impersonation. That seems to always be the guy that I go to for someone that can sustain pitching much better than their e r A indicators for a long period of time. Again, each of the past three years, heading into this season, see Sabathia had a three point nine one e r A or less. Last year he had at three point six five e r A over a hundred and fifty

three innings. That's very useful actually for fantasy baseball. Although his you know, his EXFIT was four point three zero, his SIERRA was four point two four. So a lot of the r A indicators say that he is pitching a lot better than than he actually should be. And I think that's the case so far this year as well. I mean, he gets the r A down to four point zero four. It is his final season. Um, he's

getting more strikeouts this year. You know, he uses a lot of those breaking pitches, more of the cutter, the slider. I think you can use him in the right spot. I mean, he probably should be owning fifteen team leagues you know, maybe you pick him up in a twelve team league for for a two start week something like that. But most of the time, I'm not gonna feel great about CC Sabatia because again, Greg, like you said, he's

not gonna go deep into games. It's hard, contact is really high, and the ERA A indicators say that he's pitching over his head. So um me, personally, I would probably try and go in a different direction. You know, I probably still use him over a guy like Stephen Matts, Like Matt has been really bad. Like if I'm just choosing between those two. So you probably owned Sabathia end paper leagues A only obviously, but twelve teamers, he probably shouldn't be owned, Greg, Right, So ccs Matthy in a

twelve teamer we're gonna leave him out there. We're gonna leave him on the bench or on the waiver wire around the Chapman picked up his twenty second save on the season. Um Aaron Sanchez seven runs aloud, he could He's certainly come back down to Earth's very propable. Absolutely totally agree with that. Lotus Garielle tenth homer of the year. Freddy Galvis his twelfth as long let's go along with

his third stolen base. I saw Scott Pianski twee abt Eric Sogard today, so Gard had his sixth steel of the season. That an't leadoff. He's bet even three or six with a three seventy six on base percentage. But because it's Eric Sogard, much like earlier in the season where it was Tommy Lostella something like that, nobody wants them myself very much included. Am I making a mistake?

He should be owning deeper leagues? And I don't know that he's a must owned player in twelve team league because again you know there is some speculation skepticism here when it comes to Eric Sogard. I mean, this is the thirty three year old journeyman who has been like our utility infielder for most of his career, and all of a sudden, he has eight home runs, six stolen bases, he's banning three oh six, He's got an eight seventy nine o p s. His previous career high for an

entire season was seven seventy back in seventeen. So I understand it's the juice ball this year, which can make almost anyone look good. Um, and he's doing some nice things. You know, the hard contact raid is up this year, he's hitting more fly balls, and he's leading off for a solid Toronto Blue Jay's lineup. So you know, in deeper leagues, anything deeper than twelve teams, again, Greg, you know, even if you start a middle infielder, you know, a

corner infielder, he has positional versatility. I still would imagine that there's someone better out there on waivers. So personally, I don't think he should be owning twelve teamers. But in anything deeper than that, like a fifteen team mix or or only, then yeah, for sure he should be owned a right. So as long as he's playing, as long as he's playing every single day, you gotta make sure Eric Sogard he's in a lot of he has been right like he has been in there, which means

he's probably worth the pickup. Don't ignore the old um, the old veterans that you don't expect. I think you could put Freddy Gallvis in that category. Yes, absolutely. I picked him up in the main event and look what I got last night. I got a Grand Slam in a stolen base. That's I mean, that makes him for the whole week. I you know, if Freddy Galvis didn't do anything for the rest of the week, the fact that he gave me a grand slam in a stolen base in the same game, that that's awesome. And again,

you know it's you lose Trevor's story. You lose some middle infielders, and and and you know, in these deeper leagues you find a soguard of Freddy Galvis. They're performing well right now. He's probably keeping shortstop hot for you know, Bobachette later on in the season. I would imagine, you know, second half of the year, we probably see Bobachette once he's completely healthy. He's still kind of working his way

back from that broken hand injury. The power hasn't necessarily come around yet again for Bobashette, but he's been hitting well in the minors. Have been paying attention to him, stashing him in I believe, to leagues right now. So I got my eye on Bobichette for the future. But as of now, again, hitting in the middle of that lineup, or in Eric Sogard's case, the top of that lineup, you lose some middle infielders. I think these guys are serviceable,

at least in deeper leagues. Alright, so the old ugly guys serviceable. That's the best way to describe it. That's fair, that's fair. Perfect. All right, Let's continue on here, and let's get to Cleveland. Who screwed up my best bet last night against Lucas Giolito? As Greg Boston wanted to Boston rather Red the whole thing. Whatever, Boston screwed up my best fat against Lucas? Did you ever did you ever mix up teams? Greg, because of the colors being too similar? For me? When I was doing it was

always would always mix up the Brewers and the Padres. Right, so it's like the early to mid two thousand's, they both just wore like navy blue with like a hint of gold like some silver. Like these two teams logos are way too similar. I always used to mix up the Brewers. I never I never really did that. When you say those colors, that reminds me of the Jeremy Burnitz,

the Jeremy Burnitz reason why. But anyway, the Red Sox defeat of the White Sox six to five ISA where Rodrigez against Lucas Giolito, uh Rodriguez six of the third, five urned runs, allowed six hits, four ks, Gilto just misses out in the quality start. He did walk four batters yesterday, though Frank three runs, allowed six hits seven kis.

On the evening, it was the bullpen for the White Sox that blew it as Kevin Herrera and Jace Fry like down Brendan Workman and proved three seven and one on the year, getting just one out via the strike at five pitches and for a win that will work out just fine. Home runs by Mookie Betts Jackie Bradley Jr. On the Red Sox side. It was bets His thirteen whole run over the year. For jb J He's eighth.

On the other side, Jose Bree went deep for the eighteenth time this year, while you on Muncata went deep for the thirteenth the time this season. Grey, I really wanted to hit on the pitching here. I'm gonna start

with Lucas Gilito first. He went on a eight starts stretch from May second to June eighth, where he had a ten point five four k per nine at one point nine two walks per nine zero point three to home runs per nine, and that was really that stretch that really opened everyone's eyes when it came to Lucas Gilito. Over his past three starts, Greg, mind you, he's faced the Red Sox, Cubs, and Yankees. He's got a twelve point three eight k per nine, So the strike outs

are up, the walks are way up. So I did want to address this right so again that eight starts stretch, the walks were one point nine walks per nine. Over his last three starts, it's six point one nine walks per nine, four Gilta with two point eight one home runs per nine. But I think it's worth mentioning that the Red Sox, Cubs, and Yankees are all three of the top four teams in terms of walk percentage against

right handed pitchers this year. So I understand you. You we we kind of wanted to elevate Gelito into that start him against anyone tier. And I still do like Lucas Glito a lot, still getting a ton of swinging strikes and getting a ton of strikeouts, but I think it's worth mentioning that he's gone up against three of the best offenses in baseball in terms of plate discipline. And the ability to hit home runs. And I think

that's why you see some of the struggles here. If anyone in your league is freaking out about Lucas Gilito, please please take advantage. Give me all the Lucas Gilito that you could possibly get. He basically just PHAs three

of the toughest offenses in baseball. So not as worried as on the other side, Greg, when it comes to Eduardo Rodriguez, and I tweeted this out last night, Greg Drink, I always thought that I would lose my sanity because of the New York Knicks, Craig, But I think it's actually gonna be at Wardo Rodriguez because he's he's so frustrating, and part of it is the way the Red Sox handled him last night through six innings. You know it

was a tie game. It was three to three, six innings, three earned runs, was like five strikeouts for Edwardo Rodriguez, eighty nine pitches take him out of the game. You don't have to push at Wardo Rodriguez. You should know by now that you can't really press your luck when it comes to word Ward Rodriguez. Alex Cora in the Red Sox coaching staff of your home watching or listening to this on demand, which you're probably not, but maybe I'll tweet it at you anyway. Um, but like, why

are you pressing your luck? And then the next and he starts, he walks someone, he intentionally walks someone. Then the bullpen comes in and they give up both runs that were on base, so those get charged to DWARDA. Rodriguez And the next thing you know, he has this line that's five earned runs when it wasn't even really his fault. Yes, he walked the guys, but it was the bullpen that led him down. And they shouldn't have been pressing their luck anyway. And Gregor, I looked into him.

The swinging strikes are up this year, the walks are down, the it's it seems like he should be pitching much better than he is. I can't really make excuses for the guy, because if I hold John Gray accountable for you know, he should be pitching better than he is, and we'll get to John Grady later on too, then I have to hold Edward Rodriguez accountable as well. I mean, he's just he's he's really frustrating the all that you're right in caters say that he should be better than

he is. I would still expect him to be better. You know, I looked into his his fastball and his cutter usage this year. Last year a two thirty two average for his fastball and to sixteen average for his cutter. This year, those numbers go up to three to seventy three, respectively. So he's getting hit. He's getting hit more. The ops against those against those pitches is higher as well, so um, he's he's just getting hit more and he's getting hit harder.

But it's just frustrating because the strikeouts are up and the walks are down, So it seems like those two things should correlate into him being better, but it hasn't worked out that way. I put out a poll before the show, like to talk about trades on a Tuesday here, and I asked people, you know, which middling starting pitcher that we like coming into the year, are you most

likely to buy? Joe Musgrove and Ward Rodriguez, You, Darvish and Andrew Heeney Right nowtcent of the vote goes to Joe Musgrove, which actually surprises me that I wouldn't have either. I would have guessed people, and that was my vote because you Darvis says, actually pitched much better over like his last eight starts. It actually since since that six

game against the Marlins. Greg, looking to this four point to five year a not great for Darvish, but three point seven one exfit almost ten case per nine the wolfzper nine er downs two point five. I mean that's huge for Darvish. I mean that's even better than when he was in his prime. So I really really think that it's coming very very soon for you, Darvish. Um I would rather personally, I would rather trade for him.

If I'm ranking these guys out, I would rank it Darvish, Yes, EDWARDO Rodriguez, must Grove and the Andrew Heeney last on that list, Greg, who would you rather have most? I stand by Darvish, like I said, that's that's who I would have voted for, probably and after that probably must Grove. I guess y, Yeah, I mean you could probably like flip Flop Musgrove and Eduardo on my list, they're close. Yeah,

he needs probably last. And I know Florio has talked about this, right, It's like the Pirates organizational philosophy is like they just throw fastball so much. And I was looking into must Grove and it's like his pitch value for his forcing fastball this year is god awful, like negative five, and his pitch value for his slider, according to fan graphs, is like five. So it's actually like a really really good pitch, like much higher than like

league average slider. But for whatever reason, it's it's the Pirate's philosophy. So they're kind of ruining Musco right now. It's very frustrating. I mentioned the Cleanland Indians before we give you their score here quickly. They beat the Royals last night three to two. Adam blueco just four days. Man, what the hell is this about? Well, because there was a huge rain delay and they took him out. That's

an issue. Same thing for Brad Killer. He's pitching well two On the other side, like you liked him too. Phenal A. J Cole came in this job deal the Indians ulto. We get the win on a Jason Kittness walk off home run, which allowed Frank to when money last night, which is always exciting. Yeah, Jason Kittness and the fan to will line up. He was super cheap

and I didn't want to mention Jason Kittness. He's been playing much better in the month of June Greggy two eight six batting p s and the month of June four home runs the hard contact up to in the month of June twenty four point six percent line drive rate. So I think this guy fits the Great Sussman theory to a t. You ride them while he's hot. The wheels will probably come off at some point because he's in super injury prone and he's getting up there in age.

Still struggles against left handed pitching. Two. But if you need a second basement or middle infielder, Jason Kittness is one of the hotter ones right now in baseball, Greag Yeah, Jason Kittness. Would you rather have Jason kittens or Chris Taller? Because this is a decision I had to make um in the pit ley this morning. Who'd try to have? Yeah?

I would much rather have Chris Taylor. Okay, yeah, because I at least I expect him to play every single day while Corey Seeger is out, which is probably at least through the All Star Break and maybe even a couple of weeks after that too. Better lineup. I saw a quote there's a rod Corey seeger how he started running? That was the headline, like whore see starts running? Oh nice? So then the quote was it's great I could walk

without feeling my massive pain in my hair. Shame. Now, Roald just find these guys that they just they just love to attack. That's why I've wrote an all right, we'll take great, We'll come back. Frank, you lost your best bet thanks to nobody's scoring San Francisco, I said, David Donald, So what's up about that? Getting to John Lester, we come back on the other side here, I had great results. I lost seventy pounds my way to sixty five and went down to my doctor. Told me, if

it works for you, then do it. But a lot of people say to me, how would you lose the weight? I said, I take Andrew four hundred everything. I'm gonna take it forever. That was Walt talking about Andrew four hundred. Now listen to what Bob has to say. When you listen to your radio commercials, you say that's not possible. But since I've experienced it, your commercials aren't strong enough. I am seventy and I've had a belly for way too long, my whole body is shrinking, my energy level

Thanks funny suppos, great dot com slash dcay. Last night San Francisco was at home against the Colorado Rockies, and why did you know it, Johnny, Greg but six shout out innings. Yeah he did, Greg, And uh, John Gray is actually coming around a little bit,

so you know, I was. I love the part of the season where John Grady comes around and he just obliterates Frank. Yeah, but don't worry. In a month from now, I'll be able to tell everyone how wrong they were about John Gray again. But it's worth mentioning Greg. So far in the season, the splits three point four seven e r A at home in corps Field, but at four point two zero e r A on the road.

Mind you. Last night was against the San Francisco Giants, the thirty three and forty four Giants who had Mike Yastremsky leading off and Alex Dickerson batting second. This is not a good lineup, so he did we were supposed to do. Shout out to John Gray. One point zero zero whip exactly from last night. Four hits and two

walks in six innings, zero runs, six strikeouts. He's pitching a lot better in the month of In the month of June, John Gray had a two point six four e r A. In May he had a five point six five ear A. So that's basically what you're gonna get with John Grady. He's gonna go on these stretches where he pitches really well. He's also gonna go on stretches where he gets rocked if he has a couple of home starts in a row. You just like her Man Marquez. Marquez is a better pitcher than John Gray.

I think we can confidently say that. But you have to really pick and choose your spots well when it comes to these guys, like maybe you start them at home in the right matchup against like the Giants or another like down offense that we don't really like. Uh, you know, obviously, when he's on the road, you can you can feel a lot more confident starting him regularly there. But you just have to pick and choose your spots when it comes to the Rockies pitching staff. But shout

out to John Gray, he's pitching well. You shout out last night as well. Yeah, I mean eleven strikeoutsn Greg in five innings too, he still had a six point seven nine e r A, which is why it took the over in that game. Greg, you know, I thought there was gonna be some run scored here. But yeah, I mean, Drew Palmer has eleving strikeouts. Um, I will I will not be advocating for anyone to pick him up anywhere. Greg, maybe you know, only because he has a job for now, he might not have a job

next time. For NOWTS we hope, we hope, indeed, David Doal home for the second second of game ninth home run of the year for Dallas was cool coming in San Francisco. U left lefty left on lefty whatever four two RB I three A t vases another lefty to night in a Madison bumgata. Yeah. I mean, look, David Dal has has been really good this year. I think

we're expecting more power. Hopefully that can come, especially here where everyone's hitting for power, and you know, I know, I believe in the second half of the season they're expected to have more home games than they do road games, so that should bode well for David dal The batting average has been awesome, admittedly three eighteen batting average ps, but and we get more power, David dal That's that's what we're looking for here. So hopefully that comes around. Greg,

I think I think it should. You know, the summer summer months are coming there here, it's officially summer more games in courts Field in the second half of the season. It should happen because Glemma I have here, so I U my home league, right the other transaction league George Spergrack goes back tonight, so I activated him off the ill, and now I have three bench hitters they don't like and I don't know who to play all right, so speaking, I'm stuck. So here are my options, and you can.

You can have a bench three eyes, and I don't want to should use off the xaus. I don't want my hotel. No one cares, Yeah, no one cares. A right, fine, it's just tough, just I mean a tough spot, and I I need to talk about somebody. Yeah, I agree with you though, Like typically in UM in the daily leagues, I like to have spots available on the bench for streaming pitchers exactly. But in the pit league right now, like the two hitters, I have on the bench are

really good, like Garrett Cooper and someone else. And then the three hitters have three pitchers I have on the bench are like and Warner Rodriguez, who I just told people to try and buy. So I don't want to drop them these things. And I picked up Joe must Grove because he was dropped in. Yeah, I don't. I don't think those guys are are are droppable in terms of for a streaming spot, so I gotta keep him around. Yeah,

so my gut. My hitters on the bench right now are or Boom Boom Man Cen right the second he has been really hot as uh, you know, home run on his last game. Willie Calhoun's on my bench right now. He's been pretty good as of late. Yeah, you got you have to own those guys. And right now my have my third hitter on thevenrs I don't even like is David Doggs, Jason Bumgarner and left like I don't know. Yeah, that might be the call, especially because it's in an

Oracle Park too. As I've said, Greg, I mean you gotta expand the rosters. Yeah, I joke with you for playing in you know, eight team leagues. You only start five players. But that's why you need like bring it up to four outfields and need a utility spot middle infield in a corner because you end up in this position.

And this actually happened when I put in a ten team dynasty fantasy football league, greg I had to want I had to leave the league because I just couldn't devote as much time to a to a dynasty league as I should have. But the decision making in a ten team football league every single week, you're going to rip your hair out. I mean, everyone's team is stacked. Sure, there's gonna be a lot of points scored. And everyone

says the decision making is what makes fantasy so fun. Well, you know what I'd rather be deciding, uh, in a twelve team league from like my third wide receiver or second utility spot with like a fringe e player, not like, oh, you know I have to bench one of Odell Beckham, DeAndre Hopkins or like Davante Adams. That's not what fantasy

should be about. So that's why you don't play in eight team ten team leagues, you know, playing twelve team leaguere wide receivers to you know, two utilities, a super flex uh, something like that. It's just that's my little fantasy football tangents. As we get closer to July here, Greg, but I really really hate the ten team football leagues. I agree, it's very hard. We gotta you know, let's let's lead them out those two quarterbacks some IDPs in

there something. You know what position that I am because Malex Smith is So you know what, Greg, I just admitted something to you during the break that you're right about there, and that was Jimmy Nelson. So I will give you credit. You're right abou Jimmy Nelson, who's now in the bullpens. Yes, Frank, and I will then take this opportunity. Now Nelson let me down. But Malex Smith, Mom, your man, Malex Smith has been really, really good. Um. I know he's still batting two thirty four twenty one

steals on the year. But the two thirty four, I mean where he was you put if it's relative to if I look up what it's been since he's come back, Greg, I would say it's close to three. So I'll give you in the month of June, he's been up for all of June. In the month of June to ninety six batting average yeah, close six batting average with seven steals in the month of June. Uh, you know, a hundred and hundred seven plate appearances in May only forty

eight appearances. And he's old six paces. I mean he's been he's been a fun man, specifically since May sixteen, since he's been called back up. Greg to eighty two batting average, three forty two o b P lowered that trick out right to like I said he would, three fifty babbit like I said he would, thirteen thirteen stolen basis and has been back. I'm always right about everything that I never get no, I know, I just like to mock other people that that do that. Greg. You

can listen to other Fantasy Radio shows. You know. You can listen to Craig Miss right now and once we get off the air too, you can listen to him for the second hour live on Fantasy Radio. And I will give Craig Miss credit because one of the first things he said on I believe either his first or second show, is when I get something right, I'm gonna tell you when I get something wrong, I'm also going to tell you that too. So I give him credit for that because That's what we like to do here

on the BFS as well. We hold ourselves accountable. Well, you know, when we get things right, we'll tell you about it. Alex Smith, of course, but hey, I got Jimmy Nelson wrong. I'll tell you I got that wrong too. So we gotta hold ourselves accountable for right and wrong. Do you know what I tend to do with Alex Smith and in this in this kind of ladder that I have, I hope that he gets like a whole stolen basis earlier in the week, and I mentioned later

when I think I won that category. Yeah, um, so says help me out last night? Were they stolen basis? Okay, let's get into last night's John Lester performance against the at of Braves, Mike Folton avaged by the way option into the bullpen, and Bryce Wilson getting the call today to start today or later in the week. I know Bryce Wilson's getting called back up to take uh the rotations about for now Mike Folton keviage, but Lester last night against these braves went six innings allow of zero

earned runs just two non unearn runs. I should say in that six five hits shrug got seven, didn't walk anybody's for his best starting a long time. Who tear Roun allowed seven runs in four innings of work. Also, they almost got into a brawl Wilson co and Treiris and Tyler Flowers, which kind of weird. Um how Everybias still listed face of the year. Ronnie Acunia stole his tenth base of the year. Hayward went deep for the eleventh time. Could Rairis the sixteenth Danzery Swans in the

fifteen home run of the season. Yeah, Greg John Lester, your boy, my boy, Well, I mean, really really good start here against a tough Atlanta Brave team that you know, one of the hottes hitting teams in the month of June. You mentioned it's six innings, two runs, they were both unearned, so didn't hurt your e r A there. Zero walks, I mean that's the huge key for job. Zero walks

to seven strikeouts. He had thirteen swinging strikes again against a really really good Atlanta Braves team, but one that could be prone to striking out at times. Obviously, Austin Riley about to talk about this at some point to Greg. Three more strikeout Auston Riley uh, the batting average down to to seventy nine. Stills he's gonna hit for power, but he doesn't walk a lot and he strikes out

a lot. So not really the best combination. And I think we can expect some some peaks and valleys here for for someone like Austin Riley who strikes out that much and in turn does not walk all that much. But really good performance for John Lester. Greg lowers the

e r A to three point eight three. I don't really think he's out there in any leagues, but like, if you're deciding between someone drop again, I'd rather own him than like Sabathia, who we've talked about on the show, than a Stephen Matts who we've talked about here today

on the show too. Um, John Lester, you know, I think he's probably gonna live in that like high three e r A range, But because he has the Cubs line up behind him, he's he's probably gonna be put in position to to get a lot of wins so far this year. So you kind of gotta take the take to get with the bat and hope that he uh hope that he gets you some wins. He already he's already up to seven wins on the year, so

it's pretty good. Anything else with this game you want to mention because I do you want to get to the other game before we sign off here? Um no, I mean, yeah, you know you mentioned the hitting performances, but a lot of it is, you know, status quo. What are you gonna say about them? Rizzo bias, conferras. They've all been awesome, So yeah, I think it's, you know, pretty status quo. Here. Only other game on the night was the Dodgers and the d Backs. The Backs win

this one eight to five. Great Holland got one out, one strikeout four the save here, he's eleventh of the year. Grinky six inning, seven hits, four runs, struck out six. Clayton Kershaw well the same exact line, six hitting, seven hits, four runs, one walk allowed for Kershaw as well. Rush stripling, by the way, getting the spot in the rotation right now, given the injuries that the Dodgers have had, it's stripling

going into the rotation for rich Hill right now? Is that grid He hit his third home run of the year last night, Christian Walka. It is fourteen home run of the season. Yeah, I just did want to mention Christian Walker. He's really bounced back in a big way in the month of June. The strikeout right down to twenty point seven percent in June, whereas in the first two months of the season that was up over thirty percent.

Uh fifty one point one percent hard contact rate for the seven season, that's seventh best in all of baseball amongst qualified hitters. So Christian Walker, I know, you know, he went through that lull in May where the batting average was like hovering around two hundred. He was really hot in April, but now bouncing back again in June. We had some question marks about him, you know, when

Kevin Crone came up. Kevin Crone since has been optioned back to Triple A and Christian Walker performing really well. You know, a lot of people considered him a Quad A player. So I'm happy that he's getting the opportunity to play every day and he is making the most of it. Greg. When it comes to Cranky and Kershaw, here pretty identical lines. You know. I actually wrote over the weekend, Greg Um, well my top twelve starting pitchers our rest of season. It was right after that Walker

Bueller performance on Friday. I wanted to dive into that. Walker Bueler has just been like over the past two months of the season, and I have him ranked ahead of Blake's now now the rest of season. And I also had Kershall ranked just barely inside my top twelve pitchers rest of season, Greg, what do you think about that? Is that warranted? Is that fair? I think it's reasonable. Clayton k I think we're thinking about it last week and he did a discussion. Man to be in that

top twelve, I think it makes sense. Tenden's well, absolutely, you know, I had one of the just misses here as uh As Zach Granky also had Lucas Gilio as one of those just misses too. I think that's fair. Yeah, I agree. And with that, we're gonna say goodbye to YouTube for today. John Gaston Makia He's up next with out the window. Make sure you catch that as he begins his NFL team previews. Shastamakia at the window is next. With that, we move on to our best bets we

would owe in two last night. Rank you we gotta get back on the wagon. Yeah, let's let's figure this one out. Greg. I think they're talking out here. I think there's gonna be some rain here in the Northeast tonight too, which which could influence ratings. Get right now, I checked the weather before I left the house, and I noticed that there is some rain in the forecast, So I guess we'll have to pay attention to that.

And I'm questioning myself on this one. Greggy reminds me of saying that that Gabe likes to say on his shows a day late and a dollar short. But I'm looking at the over tonight for the Phillies and the Mets, and obviously I'm influenced by what they did last night. They just put up a ton of runs on the board. The total tonight is ten and a half. But it's it's Walker Lockett, who if you can tell me anything about Walt Walter, Walter, Walker Lockett, Walter, if you can

tell me anything about him, Greg, then congratulations. And then it's Jake Ariett on the other side. And in totals ten and a half, so I think this game could go over the number. That was one that really stood out to me. The other one was the Mariners against the Brewers. Greg. This game is in Milwaukee Miller Park. More so regarded as a hitter's ballpark. Um oh wow, this this has since changed. He takes the Manners over every game. Because this was ten when I looked at

it before the show. It's now up to ten and a half, and I think rightfully. So it's Zach Davies, who has an e ar A over five in the month of June. Uh and Marco Gonzalez, who has not been good this year in the r A hovering around five. So you have two questionable pictures and two pretty good offenses in a total ten and a half. So I'm going over in both of those games. Tonight, it's the Brewers, the Mariners, the Mets, and the Phillies over in both. Greig, Yeah,

I like the Mariners over. I'm also gonna go with the total tonight. There's no line that's screaming for me here tonight, so I'm also gonna go with the over. Um in a in a game he totally going over. Only at the Braves and the Cubs. It's two young pitchers in Max Freed and as a leg getting his first start. But the over under at twelve, which seems like a really really big number. I know how good these offenses are. It's a lot, I know, but a scored what eleven last nights. This strikes me as a

sports book knows something. So I think the win might people blowing out tonight, Greg, or at least that's what's Prett rejected for the forecast. And normally when you see when you see the line this high grag, it's for a reason, and it's kind of like a sucker bet. It means again, I might want to save you from this one, Greg, save you from yourself. I was actually

looking at the Cubs money line. I know it's as Lad's first start and the Braves have been hot, but Max fred has struggled in June, and the Cubs offense and turn has been really good too. Sure, so I was kind of leaning the Cubs here. I I didn't trust it enough, so that's why I didn't take it. But I get what you're saying, but I think I think the oddsmakers are are set in this line at

twelve for a reason. Greg. So I just got caught you're saying, and I look, if you if you wanted to be one of your best bet, it's my best bet, man, I'm not gonna take it away now. I like I like the overten at a half. I like your bet better. I think the bruise Mariners. But maybe announcement man, I'm going over. I maybe I'm going I'm going under. Maybe I'm the sucker Cubs, Braves. But twelve is a big, big number. It is a big number. We're gonna have

to find out tonight. Right there we go. There you have it. We're done. We're gonna back tomorrow. I'm next at the window was Shawn Guastamka. I have a fantastic evening, enjoy the baseball and stay dry for Frank Stample. I'm a Greg Sousman. Have a wonderful night. We'll do it all again tomorrow. We hope couldn't catch the live show.
