Episode description

Gregg Sussman and Frank Stampfl open the show looking at the latest rankings for Doug Baldwin, after learning that he himself said he is practicing at 85%, and his knee is still an issue. Gregg and Frank argue if Larry Fitzgerald is still a solid fantasy value, though Chris Ventra, and Frank, think he is getting too old. Looking at some running backs, the guys argue if how far Kenyan Drake should be moved up rnakings, knowing now that he will be the bell cow back in Miami.  #FNTSY #NFL #fantasyfootball #DougBaldwin #LarryFitzgerald #TyreekHill #KenyanDrake #AlexCollins

You're listening to the Fantasy Sports Radio and I'd work Fantasy Best Friends Forever. M Do do do Do Do Do Do Do Do Do Do Do Do Do do do? Dude? Did it do? Yeah? This is the Fantasy Best Friends Forever here on the Fantasy Sports Radio Network, alongside Frankie Stample. I am Greg Salesman Braggan. What's going on? Man? How much? Gragy? How are you doing? All right? Well? Yea pumped for the Kickball Championship smare Yeah, a little nervous, but put pump,

no doubt. I have to get a lot more nervous if I show up. Uh Nope. Did you watch Hard Knocks last night? Nope? I watched. I was watching the Ayankees. Come on, I mean come on Gregory Whets the Yankees watch it afterwards. I need to go to bed, all right. I plan on watching Hardknocks this evening, though I don't ruin anything for you whatever, even though you clearly know what's going on in Cleveland Brown's camp anyway, I actually know. I actually have no idea what they're last night. I

haven't seen anything they should. There's some Josh Gordon stuff I guess right now, not really not much the show, more of the fat Office of a Lineman line coach a little bit. Okay. They did a parody of Darvis Landry's peach that was really good. Yeah, that's cool. Part of the Rookies the Rookies heads. Ever, next week is Michael Kendrick stuff. That'd be cool. Yeah, that'll be very interesting.

That would be cool. I saw pretty mean tweet, but a pretty funny one um regarding how he should have taken that guy's financial advice, the dude on the show, Carl Nassip. They're like, yeah, yeah, he probably should have went with his investment plan. Very funny. It's kind of messed up, but yeah, yeah, interesting times. Yeah, on the program today, A lot of your calls A four four eight four, three, six, seven nine. A lot of news broke yesterday into this morning, and we wanted to really

just get into that Frank has updated his rankings. We were gonna get into that a little bit um mostly so just some of the headlines that we have noticed and we have seen over the past twenty four hours or so since we've been on there. And I want to start when we were talking about with Rohnods on Scout Fantasy last night, and that is Doug Baldwin. Baldwin, you have moved up in your rankings ahead of t

Y Hilton. You're very confident, and in his first time speaking to the media in really in a month or so since he got hurt, he was like, listen, I'm not gonna be a hundred percent this year, not like I'm not gonna be hundred percent by opening day, not that I won't be a hundred percent for the first month. I will not be a hundred percent this year. And this was some of the problem, of course, by drafting Doug Baldwin, was that you had this not recurring knee problem,

but a knee problem that could limit him. And I feel like, now you see Doug Baldin say He's not gonna be a hundred percent, meaning he could come in and out of games, he may not be nearly as effective as he we're used to seeing him. And he's just not someone you couldn't be able to count on to just stay healthy. This is a major, major red flag for me when it comes to Doug Waldin. Yeah, so I had to move him back down the rankings. And you know, we spoke about this myself and Adam Ortist.

How far down do you move him down the rankings? Because, uh, typically when a player comes out and says I'm eighty to eight, is that player being like normally they're not honest with us, right, So if he says he's eighty to maybe he's seventy to seventy percent, Maybe he's fifty percent healthy, nobody actually knows, And especially dealing with a

knee injury. You know, I really was taking what they were saying, um, and I was taking the optimistic approach, and I thought he would be healthy by the time the season started. Everything was trending towards that way. And then it comes out and we get this news and you know, I drafted him on Sunday UM with the second pick of the third round. So I was excited to get him there, But now I think you have

to drop him down a little bit. I think you dropped them behind Tyreek Hill, who has looked very good in the preseason. He looks like Patrick Mahomes go to guy, Um, But I've dropped him behind Digs. I've actually dropped him behind Hilton again now, so I think he's more of a amid to late third round pick that comes with some risk. The upside is still very high, but it's going to be more of a pain tolerance thing um or Doug Baldwin this year more so than ever before.

I mean, the guy has been an ironman for in the NFL. He hasn't missed a lot of games, but I think this is the year where you know he might end up being hampered UM. So it's gonna I think it's gonna end up affecting his play on field as well. Yeah, I think it has to be. So the question is how far does he dropped now? Right, like you said, you're the optimistic one. You moved him up on the rankings. You said he did a lot of rankings updating last night. Where is he now? I

moved him to thirteam. So I dropped him behind down, I dropped him behind c Y Hilton, Stefon Diggs, Tyreek Hill. Um, I still have him just ahead of Adam Feeling. I think it's very close. Adam Feeling himself left injury, left practice yesterday with an injury, with a leg injury. They're saying it's not that serious. But again it's like, what

do you believe when these reports are coming out? Because a week ago we thought Doug Baldwin would be fine for the season, and now comes out that we have this. So tomorrow we'll have Dr A on the show or Virginia. Yeah, somebody from somebody from the side injury. So we'll get more clarity on this situation. But I'm pretty sure that they're going to paint a realistic, but probably more negative picture here on Doug Baldwin. Um, because look, it's football.

It's a contact spoard. I mean, you get tackled low, especially with everything that's going on now. Um, with tackling, you can't tackle high anymore because the concussions, So a lot of guys are going lower and then you go for the knees, and you go for the knees and that ends up affecting Doug Baldwin and the next thing you know, he's out for a few weeks or maybe even longer than that. Right where do you feel comfortable

drafting Doug Ball? Do you drop him below? You know, feeling Cooper or Fitzgerald, you know, guys that you might be a little bit safer about as a high end wide receiver too. I'm going to drop him behind Adam feeling like that, I feel confident with. Um so, he's gonna be my number thirteen, behind behind feeling and days I know we both of him at thirteen. Um So, I guess you have somebody else up there? Right, move

tyre to kill up. You have very hill up. How come he looks like Patrick Mahomes go to guy, especially in that last game that we saw, I think what he hauled in all eight of his targets eight for eighty eight. So maybe this year he's more of a reception reception beast that go to guy for Patrick Mahomes. And you know, Sammy Watkins hasn't really showed up in

the preseason yet. Maybe they're saving things that they want to do with him for the regular season, but as of right now, it looks like Tyreek Kills to go to for Patrick Momes. Yeah, I I don't disagree. I have so I have Baldwin thirteen and Tyreek Hill at fourteen right now. Um, they're obviously back to back there, that's the right spot for him. I I believe I have feeling above him. I'm not sweating knee injury until dr a questioned by James Tomorrow. Um, so, yeah, I

I feel pretty confident with that. Where would I take Doug Ball of right? If I'm in the middle of the third round, I guess is that will I pull the trigger there? Will I feel the trigger on him? Or some of the running backs? Like if I have a running back in a wide receiver in around into this is the question. Right, you're running back in a wide receiver in the first two rounds, which a lot of people start, A lot of people, a lot of you you start. That means you can go in either

direction in the third round. Theoretically you did Gronk, don't take a quarterback. What direction are you going? Do you go in? With running These running backs are going in the middle of the third round like a Derrick Henry, Alex Collins, Royce Freeman, and it was not starting crew. And I'll get another name in just one second. Or do you go with the wide receiver Doug Baldwin, Tyreek Hill,

Larry Fitzgerald and Marii Cooper? And if you're in that spot the middle of the third round early a little bit late, with wherever your your draft is, what do you do? You can't say it depends on on on whatever, because you know you have a running back in a wide receiver right now, I'm giving you that you're You're running back and wide receiver are um whoever? I mean it does, it doesn't really matter to me. If you

have won one, what do you do? I think whichever position you drafted first, whichever position you feel is stronger. Say you start, say you started Antonio Brown Vante Freeman. You obviously feel stronger about Antonio Brown as your wide receiver one. So in that third round I would take the running back to Pairwood Freeman so that I feel a little bit better about my running back crew. If you started with I don't know, say say Kwon Barkley

or Leonard four Net or something like that. And then in the second round you came back and you took Keenan Allen or Michael Thomas. You obviously feel very strongly about your running backs. So then maybe in the third round, that's where you go ahead and take the wide receiver. You take a Cooper or a Tyreek Hill or a Doug Baldwin. And in the fourth round you see if you can get one of those Derrick Henry Royce Freeman and maybe the running back. He'll discuss next in the

fourth round. I have a feeling he's gonna start to move up now if you're still drafting. Probably probably so probably so. Um. I think it's really tough. I think it's really really tough. Thing. Dog Dog Baldwin's previously previously was like, hey, you're the third round, you gotta go with wide receiver one upside here, which is awesome. Now you're like, oh, man, I don't know. I think this is a good spot to put him with Cooper and

Fitzgerald because obviously those guys have their own issues. It's actually it's actually amazing that you said that, right, Like, Larry Fitzgerald has no issues. What is what is Larry Fitzgerald's issue? If he has a hundred pasts every year, he scores enough touchdowns every single year, we're like, oh, Larry Fitzgerald has his issues. What the hell's his issue? He's old, he's old. I vent doesn't zero sign of slowing down. Venture there's been zero sign of him slowing down.

I know, but there's gotta be a point where you gotta be worried. You still gotta be worried. We didn't say never five years, but I think even more so this year. Is that all right? While Sam Bradford is his quarterback? I think we'll feel very strongly about Fitzgerald being peppered with targets. But if something happens to Sam Bradford, as injury prone as he is, do we trust Josh Rosen to pepper Larry Fitzgerald with targets or does he spread it around somebody? Answer that is yes, I do.

I don't know. I don't know what you're standing And every other crop quarterback that's not pepperal targets it works, No, because a couple of years ago he actually went through a renaissance. There was like a two year stretch where he was terrible, but he wasn't in the slot yet wasn't He wasn't in this role. He wasn't, So I think he has changed as a wide receive, not quarterback proof. In my opinion, I think he's become a quarterback proof.

I don't. I don't think it's quarterbacks last year all year long, dude, were Drew stand I don't care about five years ago. At this point, obviously, I understand like what you're trying to bring on. It's his downside though, that is his downside. Here we go two thousand and twelve, dude, seven hundred yards and four touchdowns. That's six years, two thousand and fourteen, seven four and two. He's not touchdown proof. You say twelve and thirteen, Just two thousand twelve and

in two thousand and fourteen. That's six and four and six years ago. He's a totally different receiver. This is a totally different offense. Everything is different. Well, that changes too because the new offensive coordinator as well. That's fair. You want to give me that. I'll buy that, because Mike McCoy brand new to the system. It's not Bruce Harry in the system anymore. I'm going to give you that. And the thing is, I don't care. But I think once you get into I think that's a good place

to have Baldwin. It's Baldwin, Cooper, Fitzgerald, that little trio right there, that's like the end of the third round. Those are the wide receivers that are available. There's risk involved with all of them because we've seen the downside. I know you say that Fitzgerald is not risky, but in my opinion, he is risky because if something happens to Sam Bradford, I don't know that he's still going to get to the level of production he has in past years with Josh Rosen as his quarterback. But I

don't know that that's gonna happen. But my only my response to that is just that it wasn't like Carson Palmer was his quarterback for all the last three years. Carson Palmer barely played for a lot of that time over just over the last three years, and over the last three years with really a revolving Dewart quarterback with Stanton and I'm blaying Gabber and some other they knew the system and Bruce arians was a more upbeat offensive attack than I think we're going to expect from Mike McCoy.

I agree with that, but all I can say over the last three years I'm gonna if if you want to bring up twelve and fourteen, over the last three years, Larry fitz Sheerald has been incredibly over a thousand yards and all three of those seasons, and Amari Cooper much younger, no doubt. Last year was horrific, and this is six years ago. Absolutely last year is horrific. And you can point that John Gruden coming in and always prioritizing that X wide receiver, and I get that, and that's why

he's going where he's going now. And you could talk about Doug Baldwin, how good he's been with what he's got, the knee issue, you want to put him here, that's that's fine spot for Doug Baldwin. But Larry Fitzgerald, who I don't. I feel like you're constantly passing on, And a lot of people are passing on because, as VENTURE said, he's old. All the dude does is succeed every year,

every single freaking year. He's not your wide receiver one, he's your wide receiver too, and I think there's nothing wrong with that. I don't mind it either. I just haven't really had the opportunity to draft him. If if I'm on the draft board and it's Amari Cooper versus Fitzgerald. I'm gonna take the shot on Amari Cooper, and I know he was terrible last year, but again, we're projecting forward. I know you're looking at what Fitzgerald has done the

past three years, but we're thing forward. I think with Sam Bradford as his quarterback, he's going to be serviceable. There's absolutely no doubt about that. Sam Bradford played what two three games last year. The guy has been injury prone his entire career. I just don't know that if Josh Rosen is the quarterback for this team, that we trust Larry Fitzgerald to be this target monster, to be

this reception monster. We've seen. Um we've seen Josh Rosen target Christian Kirk more so in the preseason, and you know, maybe he throws more to Ricky Steels Jones, maybe he just dumps it off to David Johnson, a toime. I just don't know that we can trust Larry Fitzgerald to be that guy if something happens to Bradford, which I think at some point something is going to happen with Bradford. It's not a great offensive line in Arizona either, so

you know it can easily. I can easily see a scenario where Larry Fitzgerald doesn't live up to where he's being drafted. Same thing could be said for Mark Cooper, and same thing could be said for Doug Baldwin. That's why I think they're all in this range and this and you previously said, right, this is the Golden Tate range too, right, or a little little pat is more so in like the next fourth round. Next. Yeah, I

think he's in the next tier. And I wouldn't have no problem taking Fitzgerald again if he slipped to me in the fourth. If it was fitz versus Golden Tape, I would take Fits every time. So to me, and I'm kind of staring at my Rankees now, to me, the one thing you have done, he's moved Doug Baldwin out of the t Y Hilton, Mike Evans, Stefon Diggs tier, move Tyreek Hill in Doug Baldwin's place into that tier. And that necessarily because I didn't move him ahead of

t Y Hilton. So I don't like him on that two three turn. I think you solid third round pick because I had Doug Baldwin ahead of you. Yes, you have I know that on you have Dig. So the order I have it is Evans, Hilton, Digs, Tyreek Hill Feeling right, Yes, well, where's that? I know that's the order. Where's it? Where does the tear really end for you? Because like, if you're at that two three turn, I know you like Digs, I know you're like Emmans, and I know you Let's take Hilton. I know you'll take

all three of those guys there. Would you pull the trigger at that two three turn for Tyreek, Tyreek Hill or Adam Feeling if you really want the wide receiver like what I did on Sunday in the Carton Draft, I started Levian Bell and then I took Stefon Diggs, and I took Tug Baldwin with the here you go. But if if the draft was happening today, I probably

would take Tyreek Hill. All right. So so that means to me, what you have done, more so than anything, is swapped Doug Baldwin and Tyreek Hill, not Tyree Hill in the exact same position you had Baldwin, but in the tier is what you've done? Yes, essentially? Okay, all right, and I'm cool with that, I get it. I get it. I don't know yet, I don't know if I'm gonna do that. We'll see, we'll see. Actually doesn't matter for me.

By one draft, I have leven the pick and none of this will come into relevance probably um, but it'll be interesting. I'm very might be a chance that Doug Baldin faults you at three eleven and your homely draft, and you're gonna be faced with the decision. Do I want to take this word? Right? Well, I'll be faced. But at that point with other risk like Baldwin, Fit, Sheldon Cooper all there, when you they all have risk, I think they do. I think that's very fair to say.

I think I would take that. I think the up I love show. Yeah, looks if you're a safe, safer drafter and you want to build that foundation fits, that's fine. But I think at some point upside, it's greater than the risk for no one taken a break Here the other big story, how's your way next? From the NFL to the NBA. The guy that we really really like coming into this year was Kennyan Drake because we thought he had the ability to be a low end r V one a high end r V two. Of course, Miami goes and signed Frank School Frank Gore. Adam Gaze puts Frank Gore and Kenyan Drake both as r V ones and we all shy away because we were afraid

about Adam Gaze. Now, as most of our drafts are done, as we head into the final draft weekend of the season, we look at Kenny and Drake and we look at a him Gaze and we passed mostly until Adam Gaze comes out and says, ideally, we want to get Kenny Drake fifty carries and get him five or six or so receptions. If that's the case on the RV one that we thought we were gonna we could get Kenyan

Drake two months ago. Well, that'll happen. But as Adam Gaye said in his own words, Adam Gaze as an asshole and could he be playing us again quite prosibly, quite possibly? Sure with this news, what do you do at Kenyan Drake. I've I've of him up a little bit. I don't want to be too reactionary, but look, this is something that we've been looking for for a long

time now with Kenyan Drake throughout the draft process. One of the first shows we did back in July was we were talking about players who can help you win championships this year. And based on all the metrics from Kenyan Drake last year and yards after contact, ability to make defenders miss, Kenyan Drake did all of that. I mean, he showed us down the stretch last year that he can be a workhorse back. He was averaging over twenty

touches per game. I believe it was the last four or five games of the season, So he showed that and now he's continuing to show it throughout the preseason. Look, they're trying to figure out what to do on offense with this team. They have no more Jarvis Landry. They have Kenny Stills, who's getting pumped up the draft board right now. They bring in Danny Amndola, but they signed

Frank Gore, they draft Calin Bellage. When you do things like that in the off season, it makes us, It makes us think that you don't have faith in Kenyan Drake. Now on one of the you know, during one of the last draft weeks of the year, we're getting this report from Adam Gates. Personally, I don't know if we can trust it. I've continued to say that about Adam Adam Gates. I don't trust him to do the right thing.

But Kenyan Drake is the most talented player on this team's offense, and if they want to have any type of success this year, the smartest thing for them to do would be to get this guy the ball fifteen to twenty times a game, whether it's on the ground through the year, any combination of those get him fifteen to twenty touches per game, and I think he can easily easily pay off being a high end r B two. I've moved him up to running back fifteen as of

right now. I feel a little bit better about him than I did last week. Nor I had him in that fourth round here originally with you know, guys like Derrick Henry, Royce Freeman, Jerick McKinnon. Um, but I've moved him now ahead of Joe Mixon and Lashawn McCoy. Yeah, I look Kenyan Drake and now this is something that could come into play for me. Um in the end of the third round. I'm awful John McCoys. I don't even mentioned him in all. Honestly, I'm not I'm not

drafting him. Um. I think Kenny and Drake hops over your boy, Alex Collins, or me hops over Derrick Henry. I think for me, I'm gonna now put Kenny and Drake probably number sixteen overall. I have him fifteen, one spot behind Alex Collins, one spot ahead of Joe Mixon. So I still have Joe Mixon one spot ahead of him. That's where differences are. Look, Joe, they've made additions to the offensive line. You look at what Joe Mixon has done in the preseason. There's no space for him to run.

There's still no space from the run. You'd imagine that that offensive line has to be better than what they had last year, and I think it will be because last year I think that was probably the lowest of the low when it comes to offensive line production for the Cincinnati Bengals. They're going to be better this year, but they haven't showed it yet in the preseason. So

I'm worried about that offensive line is right now. And you know, when we spoke about Joe Mixon, I mentioned Geo Nard has a significant role on this team every single season that he's been there with the Bengals. So he's still going to He's gonna get his snaps, he's gonna be in there on third downs. I just don't think Joe Mixon comes in and you know he's touching the ball three hundred times this year, I could see maybe you know, two and thirty carries and another forty receptions.

I think Joe Mixon is an amazing receiver, but Gio Bernard is not going away. The path to Joe Mixon being an RB one this year is if something happens to Gio Bernard and probably vice versa. I get it, and that's my off Joe mixing for the most part. Um But and based on this report, wouldn't you rather have Kenyan's rake than Joe Mixon? But how good is Miami offensive line? Maybe better yes, that's not it's not

gonna be a great unit either. I don't know. Um, I'm still I think I'm still more nervous ultimately about Frank Gore than Gio Bernard, and I think that's why I have Mixon once but ahead of Yeah, I feel like I don't think they signed that I like Frank Gore unless they want to use him. That's what scares me.

I disagree. I've read that the main reason they wanted to sign Frank Or from Miami he went to the U was to kind of help mature Kenyan Drake because he we saw someone charity issues last year definitely with the brawl was at him throwing his helmet or Jervis Landry, it was one of them. Yeah, So I read a lot that they brought Frank Gore into Shore up the

professionalism of a Kenyan. Jon Stewart, you're saying, sure if he makes the team, right, Um, I think for Frank Or, he probably get six to eight touches a game something like that, So that's like a true backup role. Yeah, I think, Okay, well that's what I'm hoping. That's probably my optimistic approach. But based on this, if they want to get the ball to Kenyan Drake twenty times a game. How much is available for Frank or probably six to

eight touches again, totally totally agree. Okay, so, and I think Gio Bernard has more of a role than that, so he's probably in the ten touch range. I do have them back to back, mixing, mixing and dre ultimately

at fifteen and sixteen. Like I have had at four team consistently throughout all of this has been Jared McKinnon, who I know you don't like, and I think we have to get into McKinnon here for a few moments, because Alfred Morris carried the rock in a major way in the third preseason game with McKinnon and Brita's still sideline in that game. And that's exactly why I bring

it up. The offensive line look incredible, and you know why, because the offensive line always looks incredible and Kyle Shannahan offense. I cannot stress this enough that if you could figure out who the running back is is gonna get the majority of touches, you want to own them in this offense. It's the same reasoning we have with Carlos Hide, and it's the same reason why I still have Jered McKinnon here. The problem is mckinnony is coming here like back from

that shoulder injury. I had read report and I apologize because I don't remember um who said it on Twitter but said that it might. Even Evan Silva that had that says al Alfred Morris maybe the best zone blocking running back in this offense now and I'm like, oh yeah, I mean he did play it obviously very successfully in Washington in the first year of his career under the shadowhands. He knows the system very very well. Now, follow the

money Jared MacKinnon got paid. They're certainly going to utilize McKinnon. But Kenny stay healthy. You had your doubts about that, giving him his size given the workload. That's why I have McKinnon up here. I asked her, I believe it was yesterday. Do you take a late round flyer on Alfred Morris and you're like, maybe you could see it in the last round. There's no there's no values, no costs. They're sure, but I want to own the running back here.

That's why ultimately I still have McKinnon. And I'm very nervous and if I draft McKinnon in the last round. I will make sure I grab Alfred Morris's a handcuff or is it Matt Breda though. That's the thing. It's gonna be frustrating, Greg. That's why I'm just off this situation. Like you want to. I understand you want. You want to be part of the coug You absolutely want to. Every everywhere he has been, from Atlanta to Washington to Houston,

they've all been successful. And there's so many situations like you can point out. We point out Tennessee with Dean Lewis and Derrick Henry. We point out Denver with stupid DeVante Booker and Roy Spreeman, the nonsense in Philly. There's all his question marks and we don't even know what the running games are going to be good in those systems, Like we cannot guarantee that. I can guarantee you right now the running game is going to be successful in

San Francisco. And that's why I need to get the running back. I just don't know who it is. That's why three years ago I love Devonte Freeman, where everyone was like last year, I love Carlos Hide. Everyone's like I need to love the running back I just have to figure out who it is. And that's why I say it's not worth investing a third round pick but Derrick McKinney, because what if it's not him Greg? What if?

What if he What if he starts the year, gets hurt or is underperforming, Then it becomes Matt Breeda, Then it becomes Alfred Morris. Matt Breeda was very involved in this team's offense down the stretch last year, so Kyle Shanahan already knows what he has in Matt Brida. I think it was the final five weeks of the season he was above double digit carries. We know, and we know the receptions went down for the running back towards the end of the year once Jimmy Garoppolo took over. Now,

I do think they're gonna get that right. I think there are receptions to be had for running backs on this team. But I mentioned this a few weeks ago, and how crazy would it be if this actually happens. But three different running backs this year in San Francisco getting eight plus carries for this team, I don't think it's outside the Roman possibility. I think they'll they could

try and ride Jerk McKinnon. If that doesn't work out, or if he gets hurt, or if they realize he's better in a past catching capacity in that role in the running back by my committee, then maybe he gets a few carries. But then maybe Alfred Morris steps in for a portion of the season, but he's a little bit older now, making Matt Breeda steps in. That's why I can't invest an early third round pick in Jerick McKinnon.

I understand wanting to have exposure to the Kyle Shanahan running back, but to me, it's just too hard to figure out, and I think it's gonna be a mess. I get it. I completely get that. So you obviously took Jered bmckinnon at the end of the fourth round. You know, the draft last Sunday or two days ago. Now, I can't believe there's just two days as um luke Wickinnon there, everybody has a price. You felt comfortable there in a full point PPR league, you can still have

six plus. That's no, that's no question taking him there where where he's the earliest you would feel comfortable taking him. Fine, you don't want him the early in the early third round? What number rank is Jerry McKinnon and your running back ranks at the moment. Wow, he's still that low. Okay, so means he's after I know he's after Alex Collin's obviously, he's after Joe Mixon, he's after Derrick Henry, he's after Royce Freeman. In half point PPR, I would take Royce

Freeman because it was full point PPR. I took McKinnon just because overall, I think he can have more receptions this year. But in the half point, the half point, I rank it so in standard I rank it as who is most likely to score the most touchdowns? Right of course, PPR, I say who's most likely? In half point, I rank it who's gonna be the best player right combined, right right between receptions, yards, touchdowns. But I think it's I think Freeman can be better overall in both in

rushing capacity, touchdowns, receptions, all things combined. Me that's a really deeper I think it's a really dangerous prospect to take. When Dvante Booker has been announced as a starting running back in deninbur and we can also we could snicker, you could laugh, and that's fine, but you're drafting, and

I listen. I did this last year, and maybe that's why I had the trepidation as my r V two and I started wide receiver wide receiver Michael Thomas a Mark Cooper last year, and that obviously did not wreaking out because Mark Cooper sucks. We came back in the third round. I think I had ten or eleven the pick in the draft, and I started with Dalvin Cooke. Is my RB one fine? I like Dalvin Cook, he was good. My RV two Joe Mixon and Jeremy Hill was announced as the starter last year, and we said,

it doesn't matter. Joe Mixon is the guy you want to own in Denver. And it took until like week three or four or five, whether they finally it was after the bye whenever that was for Cincinnati where they finally unleashed Joe Mixon. Nothing went anywhere, but they finally unleash Joe Mixon after the bye. By then, and yeah, I mean drafting Mary Cooper and Devin Cook getting hurt

obviously sucking for me. But but then if he's den in the water, and by the time that Denver advanced Joseph and the offensive coordinator, everybody think is where's the OPFIC coordinator until they necessarily wake up with Royce Freeman. You may be den in the water like I like Royce Freeman, but where he's going right now, he's your RV two and he has performed like an RV two. This is the problem when you move all of these guys up, as Chris Hogan flies up draft boards who

we like. You know, obviously some of these guys like Sammy Watkins had moved up previously. Now he's fallen back down. They need to give the value that where they're being drafted, and that's occasion with Royce Freeman right now. So that's why I'm having I'm drafting Jerry McKinnon over Royce Freeman because I think what Jerry McKinnon is healthy, he's the starter. I believe that more so than I believe that Royce Freeman is a starter because his team already now he's

not well. Just because your announced the starter, Greggy, what does that mean Devantae Booker gets the first carry the game. Royce Freeman's in on the next series, fine, but Royce Freeman is not going to out carry. I believe Ray Stream is not gonna out carried him. He's a more talented player. Can can we agree on that undoubtedly more talented player then then Devantay Booker fine, absolutely better than

Jack McKinnon too. I don't want I don't think you could do that yet, man, I don't think you could do. Royce Freeman was the running back in San Francisco, right Roy Streeman was right back at San Francisco. Royce Freeman will be going the top ten probably. Um, that's the worry I have with Roy Streeman. And this is really the problem with all of these guys in this situation.

Why don't you have that same worry about Jack mcka I do have that, but I mean like being a time split, and I don't think it's going to be I don't think you go out. I think he's gonna have twenty touches the game. I think they would love to be healthy. I think they'd love to do that. Yet maybe now then he's gonna be hurt by week three and he's gonna be on the I R. You keep saying that, but he's never been hurt. He's hurt right now, Greg preseason. He's hurting the preseason, doesn't cal not?

In my opinion, Jack McKinnon is not capable of being a workhorse running back. He's not capable of twenty touches per game? Can he can he be six to eight carries and five six receptions? Yeah, I think it could be there. I think it could be around fourteen fifteen touches a game. That's Jack McKinnon. I think that's what he's capable of, and I think if they try to work him more than that, that's the path to Jack McKinnon getting hurt very early on in the season, especially

the fact that he's coming off an injury already. What is this injury? I think it was shoulder. I think he had both of those throughout the preseason. I don't know what with the shoulder were Kiddle who returned to practice, which is great history if you d have the George Kittle um half, Jack McKinnon calf. It was me to be held out of preseason and then it was you know what, Brita has the shoulder. We're asking doctor right

about this tomorrow. He's already confirmed it and he asked him about Jerk McKinnon already probably poo poo did Yeah, how much do you need to hear about Jerk McKinnon being hurt and being a high injury risk for the season,

are you drop him down your rank? I understand that there's risk with both McKinnon and Royce Freeman, but I think it's it's tough because if you drafted Freeman as your RB two, you're expecting him to contribute right away him and theoretically, I can see maybe the first game he doesn't get all the work obviously, but I think it will be not very long into the season before we see Royce Freeman at the work course for Denver. I hope not. I hope not. I hope Denver smart

like that. I only he gets off to a slow start bylow easily. I don't think you just say that, dude on Royce Freeman. Joe Mason is He's prime example, the prime example. How many people Joe Bernard is a better player than DeVante Booker? Is we see Geo Bernardi's NFL worthy running back. Absolutely, we haven't seen Devontae Booker do anything. Why is he this team starter? I get it, man. I think Vans Joseph is just doing one of these old timer things where he's like, the rookie needs to

earn the starting job. That's you're right. Let's make DeVante Booker the starter to light a fire under say. Everybody's gonna say by Low and Royce Freeman is better. Everybody's gonna say by Low on this dude. And it may be perfectly, may be right one thousand percent, or may

might not be able to bylow on him. Because after Devontae Booker sucks in the first series of the game, Royce Freeman is gonna come in and dominate more training camp battles, injuries, winners, losers, and most importantly, your telephone calls and eight four four eight four three six eight seven nine that comes your way when we return. Healthy debate Frank, Yes, sir, Healthy debate any other news main news and notes of training camp before we get to the telephone calls. I

think we've covered it. We've hit on Baldwin, we've hit on Kenyan Drake. You never did you say if you would take Kenyan Drake over Joe Mixon. I say, yeah, I think I think it's very close. I could switch that I had I said I had mixing over Drake. I could say, must see myself switching that though, So it falls back to three eleven in your home league draft, you start running back wide receiver, and both of those

guys are on the board, I probably lean Drake. If the gun to my head, I guess that's my answer I would take. I would take Drake. He's looked great in the preseason. I mean, both guys playing behind bad offensive lines. Here's look better. Here's the better question you have. Ken You have Kenyan Drake. That's there, Kenny Jake and Joe Mixer there and Doug Ball and Larry Fitts, Cheryla, Mark Cooper. That whole crew is there. What do you do first? I don't know. A you mean the guy

as weel've also went started running back wide receiver. So I would take who is the one you value? The player I value most of that group is. I would take Kenyan Drake and take whatever wider receiving falls back to me, because even if that guy takes two, you're gonna end up with either Fitzgeryld Cooper or Doug Baldwin. Okay, I think it makes sense. Then I think I probably do that also, but I also take Kenyan, Draco Routs Collins.

Stop it. I'm not stop it right there, Listen, I was wrong about Blakes now and that worked out because I drafted place now. Thank you, Thank you, Chris um Frank. Hopefully you're right at at Alex Collins, I don't own him in a single place. Can't be much worse than my Raphael devers our hour, ralphaiel Never's life that was hours. I'm not I'm not gonna let you take the fall in the same way that I've I've single handedly controlled Alex Collins ADP moving in the third round. Listen, you

have gone Ballston Walls same. No one's been as high on this guy as you have. That I've spoken to you or I've read it. It's been you. So if he hits all you, I single handedly controlled that. I've also controlled Jerk McKinnon falling back into the third round. Probably not that one, itabury. Probably the Alex Collins thing. If you nail it, it's all you. I'm gonna be

you a million percent credit of it. But if you is the starter in a week two, if you can get it wrong, that is completely your sword and I'm going to bring Let you put me through this table. If I'm wrong, that's fine, Let you try. You can put me through the table. If you nail it. How's that all right? Here? That's fine? Probably not this table, but we'll get a table that seems fair. You'll hit me the steel chair. How's that all right? Real? Eight

four four eight four three six seven nine. Let's talk to you guys on the phones at the moment. I want to begin with Randy Ian Brooklyn. You were up first. You kick it off here the show. UH love everything about it. I just wanted to do. Uh. I have a quick question basically just then think that's a great uh my team. Well, I'm harsher greater than Franks, So good luck Frank. Thanks funny guy, uh um uh, it's all teen PPR. You guys are talking about Joe makes

the Kenyan Drake, so funny. I drafted Joe from them. Okay, I drafted both of them on the three four turn I got um uh. The guy from Minnesota, what's ther Man? That's Cook Cook Hopkins, Luck, Yeah, Doyle, Allan, Robinson, ah My bench Lynch, Watkins, Ummes, Watkins, Michael Prattree. That's all teen PPR. What do you what do you guys think about that? Frank? Can you be the greater first? So

we're looking at Andrew Look as the quarterback. We have Dalvin Cook, Joe Mixon, Kenyan Drake Marshawn Lynch on the bench, great running back dep and you have DeAndre Hopkins, so he started out. He obviously started Hawkins Cook that was always started out, ye, and then you have DeAndre Hopkins. You have Allen Robinson as your wide receiver too, and then you have Sammy Watkins, Michael Crabtree. I would like for the wide receivers to be a little bit stronger

outside of DeAndre Hopkins. But I love the running back depth. I like the starting running backs. I moved Andrew Luck down my rankings a little bit. He showed some rust absolutely throughout the preseason, but I like to seem a lot he would be plus. Yeah. You know what's funny, I wasn't given the names. I was just gonna be a nicer greader there. I thought you did a really nice job with that running back death. You have a strong wide receiver one in DeAndre Hopkins. Um. I think

Alan Robinson's fine. I think you have the running back depths a hit the wide receiverer two position. Frank loves Michael Crabtree, so that's good. Um. Love him pretty much poop pooed him going in the five sixth round. I'm giving you a name, minus man. I think you had a nice job. Randy's like that to stuff. Let's go Tomario and Tamba. What's up man? Hey you guys? Yeah, let's do it one. Hey? Hey, what's going on before? To get you? Guys are really business a great show?

But I no problem. I really really need you guys help. I'm in a four teen teams stand standard fourteen team league. We just changed flips position this year. It used to be receiver tight end, now it's now receiver tight end running back. I'm considering I have the number one pick overall. I'm considering going three running backs in a row because my league is very, very competitive, and I know a few of the guys are gonna do the same strategy,

use the same strategy. Who would you think at number one? Like this is like it has to be on point. I'm torn between Johnson and Levian Bill. I would say, none of those guys. Why aren't what girl? He's the best player in the NFL. I mean to me, there's something up or something wrong with each one of the running backs. You take Levion, Girl, For instance, everyone thinks that there's not like David Jonathan the injury issues. That's fine,

new offense, I get it. Levy On Bell hasn't showed up to camp and he's not come back by lavery day. Fine though he's the number two pick. Get it. There's not a thing wrong with the Gurley I'm not running back schedule, schedule, run the schedule. You have no idea who's running is gonna be good or bad? Yet you have no idea that's true. I'm looking at the defenses of the teams he's gonna be playing and the worst who knows those defenses are gonna be man? Just look

inside the division. The Seahawks have lost a lot of pieces in their defense. The forty Niners have tours. By running back to the past couple of years, Cardinals best defense, the Cardinals are a good defense. Those are gonna be tough matchups, but in my opinion, Tod Gurley's matchup proof you're not worried about that. And the non PPR. You're looking who has the most touchdown upside Todd Gurley inside

the red zone. Let all running backs in rushing attempts last year inside the ten let all running backs in rushing inside the five, greggy who led all running backs in rushing and stamps that would be Todd Gurley. He's gonna score the most TOUCHDOW. He's number one overall pick. It's going to Leo in New Jersey. It's going on Leo. What's up, guys, Jarmon? Yeah, what's up? Man? Okay? So, I'm a Doug Baldwin owner myself, and I'm a little concerned with my wide receivers est this news. So I've

got I've got Baldwin, Marvin Jones, and Emmanuel Sanders. I just want to hear you guys thoughts on Sanders. Uh, my personal contumes. I saw you know, we saw Keenum in Minnesota last season. We had Digs, Deeling and Rudolph all producing like peace last season. Could we expect the same from Damarius and Emmanuel Sanders. So I like Emmanuel Sanders. I've been on I've been on him throughout the draft process. I think it's a good pick. Um. He's not the

problem on your team. Uh, it's starting Doug Ball and Morven Jones. Unfortunately, we talked to Marvin Jones yesterday. Regards to Kenny Golladay, Doug Baldwin, we obviously spoke about today. You don't have that true wide receiver one on there, Marvin Jones, kind of your middling or wide receiver two. And Manuel Sanders I believe the high high wide receiver three, low end wide receiver too. The wide receiver scary situation for you, A little bit scary, Frankie, Yeah, I would

agree with that. Look, your running backs have to be stacked here. If this is your wide receiver group. Again, there's obviously risk. I wind Doug Baldwin. I was very very bullish on him. I just wish this injury didn't occur. But um, yeah, we just have to play a week by week now, I mean him saying he's gonna play at about Look, Emmanuel Sanders lined up a ton in the slot in that third preseason game, and we know

Case Keenum loves throwing to the slot. I've moved Emmanuel Sanders up my rankings up to wide receiver twenty five, So Grant, I agree with you. I think he's a high end wide receiver three, low end wide receiver two. I think Kate Keenum could be could be good enough where Emmanuel Sanders and Marus Thomas both finished as top twenty four wide receivers this season. Um and then there'll be a mishmash of Jake but will have a few big games. Courtlets Sutton will have a few big games.

I'm not I'm pumping the brakes a little bit on Sutton because people are getting very, very excited about Sutton, and I like him, and I like his talent. But to me, the passing game is still going to go through a manual Standers and Marius Thomas on this team.

I just think Cortland Sutton will consistently be the third target in this team's offense, and he'll have some big games, but I think it's going to be mostly inconsistent for so I I understand what you're saying at Cortland Sutton, and I think you're right, but I haven't seen his

draft price all of a sudden, like scorch up. Like we read a lot of good stuff in training camera, people are moving to Marus Thomas down with the idea that Courtland Sutton is going to have this big role in the fine I think you're right, But then Courtland Sutton's value is actually stay pretty consistent where he's one of these late round of flyers going along with the other rookie wide receivers, like I'm going right around Calvin Ridleyton guys. Yeah, and I think that's where he should

be gone. I personally, I like the situation for Washington a little bit more more than all I want to share. I like every rookie wide receiver that you've mentioned situation better. I'll even put DJ more in that category. I like his situation more so than Courtland Sutton. I would rank Coortland Sutton behind Ridley Gallup, Washington and d J. Moore as well. I would have above DJ Moore, and I have a little above James Washington. You don't think that

there's a chance that d J Moore don't. He comes the wide receiver one on this team, not top target overall, but gets more targets consistently. I think there's I think there's like a seventy chance. Really wow, That's why I don't feel strongly about Devin Functions. I haven't ranked outside of my top forty wide receivers in every format. I don't know why he's good. I still think that McCaffrey is gonna get his targets. Greg Olson's gonna get his targets.

And look, you don't draft d J Moore first round wide receiver if you were sold on Devin Functions, do whatever you want, j Calvit. The Falcons are sold on Julio Jones and Jenny Calvit really in the first round. Ye, Well, maybe they don't like Mohammed's new Maybe they want to

a wide receiver too. That's great. I think they drafted DJ Moore to be the wide receiver one of the feat eight four four, eight four, three six seven nine will continue to taking your calls up to the top of the hour where the Fantasy Football Friends comes your way. With that, we will say goodbye to our video portion. The program, of course would listen to us live through the next five minutes. All the radio and of course or podcast will continue for until the end of the show.

If you're listening to a podcast, please like, subscribe, rate us, and leave a comment. We of course appreciate it. Let's hit out Adrian Ian Canada. What's going on? Adrian? Hey, Greg, Frank and Chris in the back there. Uh, I just want you guys to critique my team. I'm in a twelve team standard and with my league, if you you have two keepers, if you're keeping a running back, you would start at thirty three dollars for that running back, and if you kept a wide receiver, it would be

thirty dollars. So I started my draft with two running back, so I started at sixty or six dollars and I was the eleventh pick. So here's my team. I got Russell Wilson as my quarterback, Leonard Fournette as my running back, Kareem Hunt as my running back, Stefon Dix as my wide receiver, Josh Gordon as my wide receiver. I got Jack Doyle as my tight end, and on my bend, I got Jared Goff, Aaron Jones, Adrian Peterson, Marky's Goodwin, and Karon Marathon Freggie. Give him the grade obviously. The

running backs are phenomenal. Um, Leonard Fournett and Kareem Hunt, Russell Wilson love it. Stefon Diggs, don't mind him as your wide receiver one when you have those running backs. Um again, Josh Gordon, Ideally I wanted to be my wide receiver three, but you could play the matchups with him and Marky's Goodwin, Jack Doyle, I think is a low end tight end one. Um, I love the running backs. I'll give this team a B plus as well. Yeah, this one's more of a B plus for me as well.

I'll go to a nice job. Yeah, good stuff, good luck. We we appreciate the support. Alright, I fout a couple of minutes here, Uh Freggie, if you want to join the show, of course, A four, three, uh six, eight seven nine, healthy to beat. Here you mentioned and one thing you mentioned and we had talked that yesterday was Andrew Luck and he dropped him down a little bit.

And it's funny because he was the guy that everyone was so optimistic about last year there was a disaster, and he shows that they do want in training cambine. He's throwing passes, and he played in every preseason game and everyone moved them back up. And I moved them up to my number six quarterback actually, and he's no, I moved them to my number six quarterback. And then you read about about you were you what you had said? Right?

He wasn't back at full strength and even some time like a knee injury, and I'm just like, is the problem because he over compensating his shoulder a little bit maybe driving the knees too much, something like that. So obviously we don't know the terms, and actually asked Andrew, I'm gonna ask about Andrew Luck tomorrow, doctor, I wanna don't real list right now. Um. So I was just like, oh, man, is this guy just a little bit too injury prone? Now? Is he just not going to be the Andrew Luck

that we remember? And I think that affects t Hilton certainly, and obviously affects lucks value. And I think there's just so many quarterbacks on the board that we're Luck's going and they want to go in a different direct. Wait did you drop him, dear Frankie? So I just pulled it up and I didn't realize I dropped him this low. But I haven't a QB eleven. Wow. Okay, So I have that middle tier Tier two for me, Shaun Watson

right outside the elite tier looking in. But I understand if you want to push my hands, I have in the same spot. I have Kirk Cousins at six, Drew Brees at seven, Big Bennett eight, Patrick Mahomes at nine starts the next tier, and then Jimmy g and the Andrew Luck. Interesting. So the one. So I kind of agree with most of that. I haven't really moved my quarterbacks. I just kind of leave him that I'm getting very excited about Patrick Mahomes, and that's fine. I've kind of left.

I haven't justed this at all because I haven't got enough. Then re quest to um the one guy you didn't name in that crew. I noticed with Matthew Stafford, I'm not a Stafford guy. I'm not a Stafford guy this year. Again, I've kind of painted the picture when we went through the quarterback rankings. Is that by the seasons and he's

an accumulator. Yeah, he's gonna he looks great because he finishes inside the top eight quarterback, but if you sort that by points per game, he finishes outside the top twelve. You want quarterback second to help you win weeks and having a stafe floor for a quarterback. I understand if that's what you want. If that's what you're looking for out of your quarterback, fine, take Matthew Stafford, Take Philip Rivers.

But I drafted Stafford last year. Is my quarterback in one league, and I dropped him by week three because I see guys like Deshaun Watson coming up. I ended up dropping Stafford for de Shaun Watson in that league, and until Watson got hurt, I thought, I found a gym and I'm gonna take a shot on one of these young quarterbacks who I think have that to Shaun Watson type upside. I just want to take the shot

on the upside quarterback rather than the boring Stafford. And he's going so late that you can take Patrick Mahomes or Jimmy g earlier in the round and then wait two three rounds later and get Stafford if you really do want him to have that staple backup. I just rather take the shot on the upside of Patrick Mahomes or Jimmy Garoppolo. In my opinion, that's why they're inside

my top ten. Now there you go. That's the latest and the greatest from your up next the Fantasy Football Franzy, Cory Parson, Chris Venta and the Fantasy Ties Jim and Day. We will be, of course back to do it again tomorrow and who knows what will come from besides doctor who will be on the program tomorrow. Frankie Standford, I'm a great sauce. Thanks so much for watching we'll do to get tomorrow. We hope
