You're listening to the Fantasy Sports Radio Network. Fantasy Best Friends Forever m Do to Do Do Do Tu, Do Too, to Do Donaitude, Do Too, to Do to Yo is as the Fantasy Fast Friends Forever here on the Fantasy Sports Right Here network alongside for Frankie Sample, I am Greg. So that's when a happy new year to you. What's going on, Frankie? What's a happy new year to you? And everybody at home watching and listening. Very excited to
that funk a little football, have a little fun. Latest from your guy Dave Gettleman coming out with a big press conference right now, the season ending press conference. Oh gosh, nice little uh, nice little season cap here from your boy d G. And it's nice, I mean there's some things that are just I'm not being since here at all. Great. I know, I know there's some things that are here that are ridiculous where he's singing like, oh I did my perception of the team was totally right last year.
I made no mistakes like what oh yeah, that's exactly what you want from your from your GM, Greg no uh, no accountability. I would do the see Kuan pick over and over again. And you know, to the general fan right like you look at what se Kwan did, like there's no doubting the talent, like you're you're right about the talent, like he he is a generational talent, touched by God. Two thousand yards from scrimmage. Is a rookie, third player ever to do that in NFL history. He's awesome.
Giants won five games. Great. So to sit there and say like I would do nothing over again, like you would not draft a quarterback and given you know Josh, I don't want to reach out a quarterback. Rosen hasn't looked great yet, but the offensive line was, you know, a mess with the Cardinals this year. He didn't have
much going on with him. He went through a coordinator change between Sam Donald, Josh Allen LaMarche action, Like you have all these guys who at least have shown some promise this season, and you know at least those those teams are somewhat set up for the future, like they know, like we have something at the quarterback position. And for him to sit here and say, I wouldn't do anything different, wouldn't commit to Eli. You don't have to go out
and search for a quarterback. You can't force these kinds of things. And what are you doing? Greg? The thing is so he basically came out and said, listen, take on Barkley, the man football player, the person I would draft him a hundred percent of the time. I had a hundred chances, I would draft them all hundred times. You don't want to risk a quarterback, you don't want to do You do that and you get it wrong. You're doom the next ten years, Sam Donald, really wrong?
Like do the Jets feel doomed for the next ten years? And I don't think so. I think they're building this thing in the ground up. As a Jets fan, having me the third overall pick again, you feel pretty good. You got your quarterback and now you have a hundred million dollars in caps, makes like you're feeling good, and that's why people are talking about the Jets head coaching vacancy as very popular. Yeah, I would say, honestly, the
Browns are number one. You might put the Packers up there at number two because they have Aaron Rodgers obviously, and the number three it's probably the Jets, right just because you have a quarterback who has has shown some flashes here and given the limited offensive weapon around him for him to be able to do what he did and kind of flash towards the end of the season. You take that into next year with the fact that they have what the second or third most cash space
in the NFL to spend. You give that to uh to a head coach and see what Mike mcaddan can do. And you have the third overall pick. You don't have a second round pick because you use that to trade up last year, but you have two third round picks. That's why people are talking about the Jets and the Browns vacancy as two of the top ones, because they
already have that quarterback, so we think of the future. Yeah, absolutely, and you know it's that's why the Browns top head coaching job, as you said, Jets top head coaching job, as you say, Packers have that coaching job, as you said, because the quarterbacks are in place, Denver not so much. Yeah, trying to find the quarterback is the last piece, right, Like it's kind of a catch twenty two though, Gregg, because don't you don't you want to kind of have
all the pieces in place. A lot easier quarterbacks there when the quarterback is there. But if you can find the quarterback, right like the Seattle Seahawks did with Russell Wilson, Yeah, it's so it's so much easier said than done. You can find a mid round guy, right like Dak Prescott the first couple of years looked like he was that mid round guy that they found. And you know, the jury is still kind of out on Dak Prescott. WI
see what he does in the playoffs. But and then the playoffs two and the three years he's been the quarterback then yah, rookie contract. Right, that's what we like you've talked about that. A lot teams want that because once you have to pay that quarterback, it makes it hard to do everything else. We're seeing that now with like teams like the packers, who have you a Aaron Rodgers as much as they do. It will be interesting to see what they do many um the the week's
seventeen outcomes, none of it was surprising. The only crazy thing is Baltimore almost blew this thing again, like they were blowing Cleveland out of the water in the first half. Cleveland comes back in it, and there was fourth and ten again, and you know, every Ravens fan had flashbacks to Andy Dalton a year ago. Unfortunately Baker Maybiella couldn't make it happen, but it was very, very exciting. It
was good stuff. And how this weekend of playoffs, man like, all four games are good games, and we don't say that often. I know, like last year, even though Tennessee beat Casey in the first round of the playoffs last year, I don't think anyone's like looking forward to that game. But I think all four games this weekend are good games. None of the spreads are more than the touchdowns, So it should be a pretty good weekend of football and I'm looking forward to it. I already have my pool.
We sign up for it. I can send it to you if you want. Frankie, I told you I would, um, it's hard. I'm trying to make my latup as we speak, and it's hard. It's hard. Yeah, sending that my way. Uh, you know, we'll throw it out there if any like listeners are viewers, definitely, I guess if you want to give more details about it. It's crazy the Houston Texans, right, it seems like every single playoff year in the wild Card Verse can't play that Saturday game then in Kansas City.
Well this year it's a little bit different, right, Like we're not getting ready watch t J. Yates or Tom Savage or anything crazy, right like that, Right, if Tennessee would have won, we got. We don't get ready for blading Gabbette and this game open, I believe with with the Texans lane two and a half and now it's down to one. So a lot of people are buying in on the Indianapolis Colts, and I think there's I think there's a pretty good reason why too. Like you
look at what's the what's the weakness of the Texans defense? Right, it's their past defense, it's their secondary. Andrew Luck is gonna be able to light them up. One thing I will say about Andrew Luck, which I think is kind of like the X factor for this game. And we're
gonna break down these games like throughout the week. Let me let me actually not be there before you do it, little scheduling type of notes like today we're gonna go over all the ladies and coaching and in the coaches, uh, and the changes and who we think ends up where and why anti Brown news to Antonio Brown News. We're absolutely gonna get into and break that down. Uh. I want, I want to do that. We're gonna do some some blind stats from this week. We have our our blindfolds.
We uh, we were up to date with pop culture bird Box, Um, I am up to date with for once, I am up to date. I'm more up to date than Greg in pop culture. Yes you are. I can't believe you haven't watched bird Box yet. I haven't watched it. Forty seven million Netflix accounts and watched bird Box and that's just accounts. There's like ten people sharing each Netflix account.
So I found out why. For most of the New Years, I watched Homecoming the entire season, first season, which is great, strong recommendation on that Homecoming during Julia Roberts and Sam It's awesome was it worth it to watch that over being up to date in pop culture. It's fair question, but I really wanted to watch it, so yes, I
mean they were talking about bird Box. It's like last week, I know, and some at home Coming back in October though, so I felt bad I missed it, you know, but I have had time right, Like we're far behind because of football obviously, so much goes into like I didn't do anything throughout the football season besides like home lot watch fob watch like some highlights and stuff and the same before you know what, it's Thursday and there's a game, and it wasn't like and the more jud much, the
more juniors in the football. I couldn't even get her watch the TV. She's like, I want to football and I want to watch I'm just like I I got it. I'm with you. So like Monday, she wore the Susman household duty is the one who's making Greg watch football kind of true. Um Monday she was off, So I just like sat home. I watched the end of Escape a Jannamura, I started Homecoming, I watched some others like it.
I caught up a lot of TV. Well. On December thirty one, and on January one, last two days, I've watched so much TV V I feel good, I mean honestly happy to come to work because I was like, I gotta get out of here, I gotta start doing my job again. It was it was bad. Um, it was bad. I hammered. Were you on New Year's Eve? Hammered too? Because so we didn't have the I told you terribly yesterday I didn't get out of it. I think I didn't go to bed until like five am.
So I went to bed early, and I think I woke up at like two. I woke up at nine, but I was like not in the shape to do anything. I just like was watching old wrestling clips and watch and then I shout out to me Geane absolutely um and then eleven am, I was like, all right, I'm back and I just watched TV all day. But it was so we went out for dinner at ten thirty, but we didn't want to We had a prefixed meal for like fifty bucks. Um, no alcohol included in that.
So I had everyone over my apartment at like eight to like drink a lot. I don't think anybody drinking more than I did. So I was just like taking shots like three I P A S. No, no, I P s. It was seven. It was seven patron shots. Oh this guy. And then she's like he seemed drunk. I'm like, oh good, I daking a lot of champagne too that I ordered whatever. So it was really really fun. We got back a like one thirty, cleaned up, went to bed, felt terrible. Yesterday I was a successful New
Year's anyway, schedule wise, what is your favorite tequila? By the way, Trone, mine is Daileone. You ever have this? Told we have this conversation. You never had it though, right, It's amazing. It was expensive. Anybody out there who No, it's not. It's actually like I saw the bottle and it store. It's like thirty five bucks, like a standard sized bottle. Anyone out there you like tequila, get this daily one white tequila, beautiful, big d on the bottle,
awesome of it, like it's sick love. Schedualing notes great, casually notes tomorrow Dr ray Um or Virginia will be with us in their normal time slot. Will go over all the injuries from four playoff weekend and anything else kind of lingering NBA stuff as well. Still doing BFF contest this week as well. Still doing also tomorrow we will I got that's what else to doing tomorrow, but I'll let you know tomorrow and then Friday preview. Honestly
in depth all four games. I had some ideas, we wanted to go over, some awards, we had some resolutions that we wanted to do. I know, um, and then before you know, it will be baseball season. So that's kind of my notes. And a lot of people already tweeting trying to figure out, you know, when are we gonna start talking about baseball and stuff. So it's interesting and I'm already starting to like look into stuff. We did something out last night, drink. Matt Chapman had a
hundred run scored last year. Matt Chapman, Did you realize that a hundred runs scored? I did. I don't think you realize I did? Man, it was crazy. All right, football, all right? Back to football before you know, I don't I don't want interrupted talking about the Coulton Texas. I'm just That's basically what I was saying was the textans secondary is um their biggest weakness. I think obviously you
know how good their pass for us is. But the Colts can somewhat mitigate that because their offensive line has been otherworldly this season. So I think it's gonna be a good matchup at all of the trenches there, uh, the Texans defensive line against the Colts offensive line. But the way to attack the Texans is through the through the air, through the secondary. The one thing that I think can hold the the the Indianapolis Colts back is
I'll turnover prone Andrew Luckos. We saw it right like that that Sunday night playing game, Like the little jump throw thing that he did that was disgusting and I don't even know who it was too, was throwing it to like the opposing team. It was very bad like that. We can't have That's that could be the one drawback to the Indianapolis Colts. But the way it's looking right now, the Texans opened this up lane two and a half down to one. Same thing with the Cowboys and the Seahawks.
Dallas opened up lane two and a half now down to one as well. Early prediction. Man, I'm kind of in on the Colts. Everybody's in the everybody's in on the everybody. Yeah, I'm not gonna do that. I'm not gonna have predition yet. Um, but everybody's in on the Holts. Let's talk about the coaching change before we hit the break. I want to do that one in Antonio Brown as well. Now, coaching change wise, I'll started your team, Frankie with the New York Jets. Now, the Jets one of the more
attractive openings. We think. You've heard their name, you've heard them A linked to Mike McCarthy, you've heard them linked to UM, Eric biennin me, you heard them Todd Monkey, Cliff Kingsbury. UM, that covers it right, I'm missing anybody in Minish. Meta just tweeted out I don't sleep when Matt rule as well college coach Matt Rule at Baylor. Yeah, I don't know anything about Matt Rule, but offensive line
coach with the Giants, I believe interesting. UM. Rural World actually has uh this their daily dose up where they kind of have have it laid out with each team and who they have scheduled to meet with. Alertie. So as of right now, the Jets are scheduled to meet with Chiefs O C. Eric Bienimi Box O C. Todd Monken, Cowboys defensive assistant Chris Richard very interesting name out there right now who's getting a lot of a lot of buzz. We didn't go with another another defensive guy, I don't want.
I mean there I've seen people on Twitter kind of clamoring for him already and like you can't dispute anything that he's done in terms of like with secondaries. So I think just like from a personnel perspective, him working with Jamal Adams would be awesome, and like kind of trying to find ways to rejuvenate Tremaine Johnson because Tremaine Johnson, the second highest paid cornerback in the NFL, was just not nearly as good as he needed to be this year.
And I'm sure he would tell you that himself as well. The work that Chris Richard has done with secondaries. Just look at the Cowboys for example. This is the guy who with with the with the Seahawks throughout the Legion of Boom. I mean, he was part of the guy who made them. Obviously, like Richard Sherman is awesome, we know that, but he was part of the reason that they were as good as they were. And there's no denying what the Cowboys just did this year with Byron
Jones and shadowbi A Woozier. They've been amazing in the secondary. So yeah, shout out to uh, shout out to Chris Richard. I'm sure he's gonna get a lot of buzz um. But they're also linked to like Jim Caldwell, Mike McCarthy. You mentioned Cliff kings Kingsbury is something that uh you tris you. I really do think that they're going to go some kind of offensive route. It wouldn't surprise me if they try to do like the Kingsbury thing. He's like the hot college name right now from like Texas Tech.
He's the o C I know, but he he was with Texas tex He also coached Patrick Mahomes, so like he you know, he runs the whole spread offense thing, and everyone's trying to find the next coach who can incorporate like r p O s. I know Todd Monkin does a lot with r p os and you know, I heard Gabe and Corey kind of like bashing Todd Moncat. I don't really know much of his background, so I'm not gonna sit here. You know, I looked into him
as like a college head coach. He was not good as a head coach in college, but you can't argue with what he just did with the Tampa With Tampa based offense, their offense was not the problem. The defense was abysmal. But if you look at their offense, third in yards per game, third in yards per play, wealth and scoring, Ryan Fitzpatrick led the NFL, you know, small sample sizes. He didn't start every single game. He led
the NFL in yards per attempt. And Ryan Fitzpatrick is just gushing about the guy in terms of his creativity and what he could do and these concepts and r p o s and stuff. So again, I don't know much about him as like a head coach at the college level. But what I've seen the results this here from the Bucks offense. Godmancin did a good job with them. So that's that's just all speak to you, Tom Monk. Now, Eric Piannini is the hottest coach of course on the
this cyclic thing. He's kind of on the fence for me because he he has like a running back he's like a running back coach background, and he did great work with Kareem Hunt, but he's never called plays before. And I know the Andy Reid coaching tree has done wonders for other teams. Matt Naggie does Peterson. But again, this is a guy who has never called his own place. If he does become a head coach, I think calls
on places, does he also hire an oc Never? Really? Uh, I've read a really cool tweet over the weekend about why head coaches should call their own place. Actually, let's talk about that and where beginning is not headed. We'll do that next. Daily Rhodo dot Com Learn from the game's best DFS players. We don't just give you advice. I'll definitively say he was the best backstage wrestling. Well he was. He defined it right best, like voice everything, the way he carried himself. Now that just want to go off script. There's a lot of stuff like him just kind of like shooting off the top. Now they just use It's a big difference, you know. And there's a script like he means you kind of do this thing now. The script says, join me as my guest at this time, Please welcome so and so, so and so.
I just like surprised you never tried to get into the w w E announcing tree. You never tried anything, Greg, I submit, ad you can be like a backstage guy who gets like hit by a chair. I don't think I'm like I can't get enough shape like those with hard work and dedication. Greg. A New Year, New Greg, anything is possible giving year's resolution sprink. Oh yeah, I
actually do. Oh. I do want to note Frank is not drink during the month of January, and he also told me he's not like eating anything good in the month of January as well. Yeah, I'm not eating carbs and I'm not drinking beer. It's crazy. What's her lunch today? I don't have any one. I have apples downstairs, which you know, it's a staple. I usually come in your breakfast. King of my fiance was like, I don't have anything to make you, so what are you gonna do? I
have to go out and buy something. What are you gonna buy? Gonna buy chicken and like broccoli, chicken, vegetables. That's my that's my monthly plan. Basically, just see chicken and vegetables every day. Me so soup please? Maybe you want to hear my resolution? Alright, So I told King of this first. Obviously my New Year's resolution is that she will yell at me less. He's like, wait, so you mean that means you're gonna help me more? Is that your resolution? Like you're gonna help her in the
house more. I'm like, no, my resolution is that you're gonna stop yelling at me. That was great? Did you take She like smiled laughed about it. She's like, you're stupid, I'm not doing That's good. Like my resolution was kind of similar where I was gonna say I was gonna have more patience around the house, like and not let
little things like I didn't realize. I think I don't want to call it O C D. But like a little more O C D than I realized when when I first realized that with Judy right, like sour shower, we have like a little I guess I don't think having it. It puts a little thing in the shower where you put like your shampoo is open. What up shelf is what I was looking for with a little shelf, right, And the shelf is like only this big or so, so we can fit only a certain amount of things.
If it doesn't fit, I just put it like the side of the shower along the wall, when you just put it down. Whatever we deal. But Judy, he consistently he just tries to squish it in there, so it's like hanging off the sides and it's like not properly placed. And then she puts things like the shampoo like upside down, and I'm just like, why is it upside down? I understand the shampoo upside down thing because when it's starting
to run out you wanted to do different stories. Fine, but not when you first buy it, and definitely not when you first buy it, right, you gotta wait until it's you're halfway yeah, like a quarter, I would say, fine, no issue, same with the upside down over the new toothpaste immediately the next morning upside down brand new. So my O C D self has to turn it back, has to make sure everything's like right side off. And I never realized it's about myself, and I would get
really angry and frustrating. She's like, it's just not that big of a deal, and you know what, You're right, it's not that big of a deal. Patient Craig, New Year, New Greg. I don't want to say that go that far, but like more patients with like things that don't matter, that's all New Year's resolution. We're gonna get Greg into backstage wrestling reporter shape. I don't know what that means, but that means google what micro roome looks like, and
you'll say, Mike Rome. If you guys to wage your on sports and never have and want to try, I don't know what about d s I. That would be the first step of you to backstage w w E reporter shape. So hopefully we can make
that hat. It seems unlikely, all right. Before we hit the break, we were talking about Cement the head coaches. Frank and you had an interesting stat you wanted to read. It wasn't a stat, It was a tweet from someone. It might have been like Nick Menzio of Rural World, And I've never really thought about it. It's it's actually really pretty normal, like anyone could have figured it out, like it's it's not like rocket science. But having a head coach who calls his own plays creates continuity from
year in and year out because everyone's stealing. So like you have a great offense and you have an offensive and they and they steal him away. Next year, you have a new offensive coordinator, and yes, it's still like your system, but if you're not calling the plays, then you're gonna get a new voice inside of the the
helmet of your quarterback or whatever. So basically, it's like, if you have a head coach who calls his own plays, you don't have to worry about him getting poached year and a year out and like replacing a new offensive coordinator. So it's a very basic concept, but I don't know that enough organizations think about it like that, Like I'm sure like they're very into like we need to find a perfect candidate, like we're not gonna worry about this and that. But it actually kind of makes a lot
of sense. Totally makes a lot of sense. Now, there are some obviously downsides to that um number one, like Adam Gaye got for this, while Sean McVeigh gets lauded for it. Obviously with the team's on defense, he's on the bench going over plays, talking to the quarterback, not paying attention to what's what's going on. Right, That's what Gates got crushed for it. McVeigh has got beloved for it.
So you need the right defensive coordinator though, because McVeigh has waited Philip who has so much head coach, without question, without question, you gotta put your staff together. Rex Ryan's another one, right. He called all the plays on the defensive side of the ball and the offensive side of the ball. His channel was not even turned to the offense right like, and that was too or for the on the offense too. And it gets like Mark Sanchez
and Gino Smithy, They're terrible. They were awful, and you didn't have a head coach set and what to do with him because he was a defensive guy. And that's obviously why we all lean towards offensive playmakers or offensive coaches right now. Um, and everybody wants the next Sean McVeigh, and everybody wants the next Matt Neggie. And I think that's where you see a lot of the top candidates.
We mentioned Eric Bianini, who are He said, Hey, I'm gonna interview with the Jets and gonna interview with the Packers' gonna interview with the Browns. Yeah, I'm good on Arizona. That's what he said. I get which is interesting, right, because he has a running back coach background, and of all the teams, they probably have the best running back,
don't they and David Johnson. So I find it interesting because quarterback I can tell you running backs don't matter to win quarterbacks and he doesn't believe in Josh person That's what it really says. Yeah, I mean I still think that the Again, like the evaluation someone said in the chat, the evaluation process for quarterbacks last three to five years at least. I mean it could it could go further than that. Like sometimes you have to wait until the end of the career to to realize, like
was that pick. Was it worth trading up and mortgaging draft picks in order to get this quarterback? Was it worth it in the end, So that it takes a long time to evaluate these things. You know, I'm not gonna I'm not gonna just completely bury Josh Rosen after one season where he changed his offensive coordinator. He had Michael mc boy, who's the most vanilla offensive coordinator of all time, and then he had Byron Leftwich, who was
calling place for the first time in his career. The offensive line was one of the worst in NFL history. There are stats that back that up that it was actually that bad. They're running David Johnson into the back of the their offensive line over and over again when he's clearly not that type of player. I'm not gonna hold it against shoshows and he you know, he has some weapons and Christian Kirk for the future. We'll see if Larry Fitzgerald comes back. I still do think that
they need to add like one more wide receiver. But Christian Kirk and David Johnson very nice starting point for the offense for whoever comes in. So all right, beanimy doesn't want to come here. I still don't think it's like the worst situation of all time. They still do have a quarterback too. Other hot offensive coordinator names young guys in the NFL. I'm not talking about Cliff Kingsbury um or not rule or Matt Campbell from college UM.
But I'm gonna mention Zach Taylor, who we saw this coming right quarterbacks coach with the Rams, uh the facto offensive coordinator if you will, with Matt lafleur um in Tennessee and Sean McVeigh really doing his say. Mat lefore is the other name I want to mention, but Zach Tayler obviously getting a ton of love right now in coaching circles, and it's a surprise because he is young. On pedigree is really good work with Belichick and work
with mcveigh's. It's a good combination, but not much experience calling plays there either. Yeah, this is an interesting one. And for him to be getting head coaching buzz, right, this is just someone you're trying to to pluck every last piece of that Sean McVeigh offense that you possibly can. We saw Matt Lafleur this year with the Tennessee Titans,
and I killed Lafleur a couple of weeks ago. Greg, and you told me, you sat there and you said, there's gonna be head coaching um interest in Matt Lafleur. And I was right, And to this point there has been actually so that was that was the correct call by you? I don't I still don't know that objectively speaking, is that the right thing? Because I think the Titans offense was not good this year. It took them this long to figure out to use Derrick Henry. We didn't
see much improvement from the quarterback position. I know Mariota has been hanged up, but didn't really get a lot of the Corey Davis like the offenses wasn't good. So I don't really I don't really understand the hype behind Matt Laflour, but yeah, worth mentioning Zach Taylor another another name that's being thrown out there. He has a few people that are already uh interview him. Arizona is one
of them. Cincinnati is one of them. I could see it like a team like Cincinnati taking that shot, assuming they don't give it to Hugh Jackson or bands Joseph who they're the favorites are are friends of Marvin Lewis, are very bad coachious this franchise. Apparently they're big on continuity. So like anyone who's worked with Marvin Lewis, like, as the upper hand here, you've done nothing under Marvin Lewis. Why would you want a bunch of people who have
worked under Marvin Lewis? You've done nothing with him. You made the playoffs a bunch of years. Did they ever make it out of the first round? Now, Marts never want tof you never want a playoff game. So you're like, all right, you know the the players, the personnel of the staff. They might know assistant who have worked under Marvin Lewis. So let's bring those guys in so we have some kind of continuity. Maybe you don't need continuity
in the bank those organization. Maybe you need to reset everything because it hasn't been working for a really long time. So Zach Taylor interview there as well. And then the other team is the Denver Broncos. So three teams that he's lined up. It's gonna be crazy when this team hires huge acton like, oh, one win in two years, Like I don't yet it, man. And what's crazy is when he was fired Greg, I told you, well, we all knew it. I was like, dude, he's gonna the
NFL is like a revolving door. Miaem McCoy is gonna be somewhere calling plays next year. It's crazy. Adam Adam, Adam Gaze not as much love as we thought he would leave in Miami, you thought quickly, has not happened yet. I woke up when was it either New Year's Eve or New Year's Day? And they're talking about Adam Gaze as as a why you'd be a perfect fit with the New York Jets and big media outlets talking about
this Greg like Ian Rabbitport talking about the quarterback whisperer. No, you know, you want to know who a quarterback whisper is? Kyle Shanahan. Kyle Shanhan's a quarterback whisper. Who could say Jimmy Garoppolo. Who could take Nick Mullins, who you know doesn't even have the check mark next to his name on Twitter and turn him into an NFL worthy quarterback at least? No. Now, now Nick Mullins being talked about a name that people could trade for Greg a trade candidate.
You want Nick Mullins as your starting quarterback next to year Greg? It's not outside the remo possibility. Why because Kyle Shanahan is a quarterback whisper. Adam GATEE, I know Ryan Tannehill has been hurt. What does Ryan Tannehill do? Like, come on, dude, Adam, Yeah, Adam Gates would work well with Sam Donald's He's gonna he's gonna get the most out of him. Yeah. He really had the most out of the Miami Dolphins offense and they're passing attack. They
were in the fewest plays in the NFL. This year and they wouldn't even give their best player of the ball and Kenyan Drake. We'll get me start with Adam Gaze Man. That guy. I mean, he's got to like reset somewhere, Go somewhere, boc being assistant, go to college, do something. If he goes straight from the Miami Dolphins head coach to another head coaching job, Greg, I will lose my mind. Same Evan's Joseph Man, It does it
make sense? Like what are we missing this? We always talking about when it comes to like why are things so easy for us to see? But like for NFL executives, they overthink things so much. Greg, Yeah, we see players who are clearly popping off the screen. But oh, let's keep bringing back to Sean Jackson and starting him over Chris Godwin when Chris Godwin is clearly an NFL competent receiver. We see it over over again. Why is Kenyan Drake not being used more? The only thing I can think
of is they're trying to keep him healthy. They're thinking he can't handle a workload or else he's gonna get hurt. That's the only thing that I could think of. What if a player or a coach is popping off the screen and doing things correctly. Why does it take front offices in NFL so long to figure it out? Now, again, you don't know the inner working is necessarily what's going on. Um. Like there's a lot of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Um, but you know, I think it's get to play this player
because he's getting paid a certain amount of things like that. Yeah, this guy was a first round pick, second round pick. We have to play him. Stuff like that. There were a couple of defensive there were a couple of defensive coordinators. Um that showing some love. Frank mentioned Chris Richard earlier. He's done a really nice job in Dallas, coming over from Seattle where you got surprisingly fired. Um, he's done
a nice job. Comes from that tree. I know we haven't exactly had a ton of luck there as Gus Bradley was terrible. Dan quinn I did make into the Super Bowl, Um, but struggled. But Chris Richard a hot name. He's interviewed with a couple of teams on Sunday after Dallas' first playoff game. Um, and you want to note that Atlanta fired both of their coordinators, Marcus Manuel and finally Steve Sarkesian. But of course who did the interview Dirk Cutter. But I'm kind of in on that. Craig. Really he
was terrible as his own officsive coordinator. From from a fantasy perspective, right, we talked about with Matt Ryan is how he struggles under new y coordinators. He already has that familiarity with Dirk Cutter. And yes he's under Kyle san And and under Steve Sarkasian. Matt Ryan struggled in the first season. If you look at his first season with Dirk Cutter, he threw for thirty two touchdowns. So that was the first year offensive core nator where he
actually did perform well Matt Ryan. So I think for the Falcons offense, and I know Dirk Cutter has taken a lot of heat. He was brutal as head coach of the Tampa Bay Bucks. But if you're looking for a continuity, that familiarity that the Falcons offense already knows so that we don't have to suffer from a fantasy perspective, I actually think Dirk Cutter going back to Landa makes
a lot of sense. Fair enough, fair enough, um Ryan Flora is the name being being thrown Josh McDaniels again, Josh mc daniels with the you know where I think, and we've been kind of pooh pooing the defensive coordinator, like, how can you have a defensive minded head coach in this day and age. I think there's one place where it makes a lot of sense, Craig green Bay. And because because Aaron Rodgers, what do you need out of
your offensive coordinator? Aaron Rodgers is your offensive coordinator? Those Seriously, I don't think so, because I think a guy like Chris Richard, and I know he's not even like slated to meet with the Packers as of right now. What has been the biggest weakness why? Like, all right, Mike McCarthy, Everyone pooples him for being vanilla Playcoller or whatever, so on and so forth. Aaron Rodgers, But their defense. Look at their defense throughout Aaron Rodgers career, it hasn't been good.
It's never been good. Aaron Rodgers is one of the top five best quarterbacks of all time, top ten maybe whatever, you should have won more with him. I understand that. So that's why Mike McCarthy was fired. Ultimately, what the defense has always been bad, specifically the secondary. Every single year we're talking about pickup this wide receiver, playing him against the Green Bay Pack. Their secondary is terrible every single year. I think a defensive mind to head coach
would actually make sense. I think you need someone that he's gonna coach of the offense and need more creative with Aaron Rodgers. That's why I think you have somebody. It's young. I knows what they're doing on the offensive side of the ball. Of course, Mike McCarthy, he'll another retraid that will get a head coaching job somewhere or the Brown For Baker's sake, we're taking a break. We'll
be back hit a minute. If you're someone that needs fantasy sports advice every day, the Fantasy Sports Radio Network has you covered. all the coaching stuff. We hit on more of um this weekend stuff as we get closer to the games obviously Wednesday, we have Thursday and Friday to go before this weekend. We'll break it down as we're practice. News comes out and we kind of dive in a little bit more. Dr A and Virginia will be with us tomorrow. But the big story coming out of this week, outside of the head coaches and outside of the season ending press conferences with a guy like Dave Gentleman, is what's
going on? Just getting killed by Fantasy Twitter destroyed? It's okay, UM, gettlement on Eli Manning. He can still make NFL throws. He's still got it, Adam Leavittan, We'll tweeted it. Eli Manning was PFS number twenty six QB among thirty qualifiers this season. Still got it? Greg? Problem? Is this no better option anyway? Um? You mean Nick Mullins over Eline? Sorry, dude, I'm I don't want to do that, Lady Bridgewater trade for matt Staffords, hey Bride or in the Manning can
you can you cut Eli Manning? Or does he have like you cut him and save money or do you have to like money but you have the dead money, but you would save a lot of money by cuttinghim. Well, if you have that money, at least look into the possibility of trading for Matthew Stafford. I would honestly do that. I don't think they do that. I think what is possible, though, I really do believe the Oakland winds up cutting Derek Carr. I think that becomes an option. I do. Do you
think so? Because Mike Mayock came out over the weekend obviously new Raiders Jim and said that he had a first round draft grade on Derek Carr. So I'm not I'm not saying they will kind of, they're kind of. I don't want them to cut him because I want Haskins to be there at six, so you know, I feel good. Then they're locked into six the Giants. Giants
are at six, Oakland's at four. At three. You want to trade up, baby, so they need to because Oaklands at four they're keeping Derek car they're not gonna get the quarterback. You have to worry about someone jumping in. I understand, I understand. And then I don't know how much hype throw will be about Twayne Haskins. And then Tampa's at five. He seems to be like the only real first round talent quarterbacks, like everyone else was going
to go in the first round. It's like those classic Da Cabbage Jake Lockers of the world, guys like Drew lock Who's who's you know being mocked in the first round right now? The duke quarterback. Everything that I've heard is like, these guys are not first round word of the quarterback happens. He's a first round worth of the quarterback. Is he like a top ten like slam Dunk? Probably not, But I've seen people have first round grades for Dwyane Haskins.
Feel better. The only team I can see them jumping the Giants really as the Jaguars. We've been right before the jump right after the Giants because they need a quarterback also, So hopefully they don't do that. I hope, we hope, we hope. All right, But the big story, of course, is what's going on in Pittsburgh and with Antonio Brown. He had a knee injury this past week, but that wasn't really a knee injury. You gotta an argument with Ben Roethlisberger, something about like a hot route.
Um that he got pulled four and he got ticked off and slammed his helmet and walked off. Didn't show up the practice Thursday Friday, Um, didn't show up the walkthrough on Saturday, showed up to the game on Sunday and said all right, I'm here and they said, well you're you're not playing. Of course, every Beat reporter had this story. Jesus lack Canni Forward came out and said
Antonio Brown requested a trade. That was kind of debunked very quickly with all the other reporters around the situation, saying three different reports basically saying, hey, he didn't demand a trade or even requested. He just said, if you're not gonna use me, trade me. And that was the quote unquote request that wasn't really a request. Uh. Yesterday, in his radio appearance, Fed Roethlisberger downplayed the incident and saying listen, he had an argument all the time. Antonio
Brown still want my best friends in the world. This wasn't a big deal, got overblown. Mike Tomlin just came out big enough deal to get benched. Mike Tomlin just came out in his in his season ending press conference and said, it was my bad for not communicating to the A B. You know, it wasn't a big deal. I got overblown. I understand what Mike Tomlin and what Ben Roethlisberger are trying to do and trying to downplay the incident as something that it wasn't. It is a
big deal. They mentioned him in the game to potentially make the playoffs. They benched their best player and they barely won that game. That's a big, big, big deal. And if I by doing this what you're doing, he's saying what Antonio Brown did was okay, right. I mean, this is a guy who's been a baby all year, that's throwing tantrums, that's had fake injuries, that's been arrested days before games like this. Is these are issues, and
again they've downplayed them. They've continued to enable Antonio Brown. I'm not making this about the Giants, has has something to do with them. But Odell Beckam gets a lot of crap, and rightfully so. He deserves it, but his teammates love him, and it's clear his teammates do not love Antonio Brown. I think it's a major issue. It's brewing in Pittsburgh, and I thought the reason they didn't
make the playoffs obviously, but it's not a good look. Frank, you really believe that the Steelers teammates don't like Antonio Brown. I think them voting jujuice shoos to the team. Mv pss a lot about Antonio Brown, to be honest with you, and I think that's something that he can kind of hold onto it and use as like I want to be treated like you don't value me the way that like I've value me. It's me, me Me. It's a
big like. You know, I look forward to the days where the best wide receiver in the league isn't a diva, Like if we could just crown DeAndre Hopkins the best wide receiver in the league unless he does things that I don't know about besides wearing like really stupid shirts when he shows up to the game. Uh, DeAndre Hopkins to me, has been a great sport. I don't you know, I don't I don't hear a lot about Deander Hopkins
being a diva whatever, Like he plays through injury. He's awesome pound for pound, might be the best wide receiver in the NFL. But you know, dating back to the days of you know, Randy Moss and Torello and it's like you just go through the cycle of diva wide receivers. So we'll see what happens with Antonio browne. I was gonna throw this back at you, Greg and asked, like, what kind of compensation do you think would be required to trade for Antonio Brown? Because I brought this up
to you. You know, we're talking a lot about the Jets and Giants, other teams. Can any team can use Antonio Brown? Like we can scroll through and I have I say this Jets, Twitter obviously, oh my god, oh my god, let's trade for Antonio Brown. Let's let's be the Steeler from three years ago. Whatever, Sam Donald, it would be great, But it's also going to take a lot of compensation to get a guy like Antonio Brown
away from the Pittsburgh Steelers. You will never get proper value teams that come to like the San Francisco forty Niners. I know they were talking about in the Morning show. I think someone tweeted out a picture of like Antonio Brown wearing a forty Niner jersey. That's a name that I think would make a lot of sentia trade him to the NFC West. You're like, almost never see him playing against the Steelers, So I think that would make
a lot of sense to Jets. Even like the Bills came to mind, because obviously, again, any team can use Antonio Brown. The likelihood that he gets traded probably not that Like, what do you think it would take? What kind of trade capital? I don't know, man. I think the last time we've seen a position player this good a skill position skill, I mean, Clil Mac Khalil Mack was like, what did they get for Khalil Mack in the first first round picks? That's what Antonio browns in
the cost so and different. Pass rusher is different than wide receiver, That's no, I agree with you. I think universally around the league, the best pass rusher is valued much higher than the best wide Golden Tate was traded for a third rounder, right, Yeah, and he's kind of like middle link compared to Antonio Brown. I think it would probably take at least one first round pick plus at least one first round pick. It might happen for just one first round pick. Seriously, I don't think so.
I think it's more Jets aren't given up the third roll pick. They're not right now, And I'm kind of in on that Josh Allen Josh Allen draft pick after I know I wasn't watching the game, but I believe you have like three sacks and he's good a final
Bowl game, he's goodlos. Basically, there's a top two and Nick Boson and Quinnin Williams from from my research, and then third could be anyone from Josh Allen to at Oliver or the two popular names I've heard at three at Allen flan Farrell as well as like a pass rusher from Clemson. I haven't heard about that, but Jonah Williams is like the top off. I wouldn't mind if the Jets took him either. That's and they're not gonna take Dwayne Haskins. Let the Giants take this guy for sure.
Probably won't because there idiots. Yeah, it's like they they don't need any more skill posistion players, but maybe they can find a way greg like they've used their past first round picks on like Odell Beckham, Evan Ingram and take Kwon Barkley really need any football just updated their their new mom maybe they can. They have the Jets taking They have the Jets taking Josh Allen at third as a kind of predicted. And what I really liked to is after the game he does just oozing with confidence.
He's like, if I'm not the number one overall pick, I don't know who it is and that's awesome, Like and it's different than you know, someone like Nick Bosa who he hasn't played right, he hasn't played it for a while, and he get hurt and then and and that's a big back and forth, you know, like ethics and whether you want to be there for your teammates versus you want to make your money if you're gonna be the first role pick. Like I don't want to get into that, right, I agree, Um, what do you
think the w Pittberg is handling all of it? I do agree with you that it's definitely a bigger deal than they're leading on. For Mike Tom going to come out and basically say like, oh you know, I you know, I mishandled the situation like it kind of seems like they're downplaying everything you spoke about Big Band. He's like, we still have a great relationship you have. Why didn't he play? Then? That's what if everyone's downplaying it, like
why didn't he play? And I understand, Like you want to hold people accountable, that's fine, but then don't downplay it. Be like no, like, stick by your decision. We benched Antonio Brown. We're sticking by your decision. Whatever he did, he like threw a quarter I threw a football at Big Ben in practice something like that. That's what I all reported, Like, all right, well he violated the team rules, we're benching him. Stick by yourself, I mean, don't downplay
it now. And they tried to blame it on an injury too, which like makes it even worse. And they're gonna get a call from the NFL because he can't do that. That's not all that happens all the time, though, They make a phantom injury so that, oh we make this guy an act of course. Ever, Yeah, Geno Smith, nurturing quarterback, dealing with a back injury, whatever inactive happens all time. M hm, okay, all right, Frank, we got
a minute or so left on YouTube. We wanted to do Um, we wanted to do this that game today, bird Box or bird Box. Indeed, do you want I don't want to rush it. No, I don't rush it. We'll do it tomorrow's time. Are you sure all right? Because we had a fun idea. We're doing blindfolds the biggest thing right now everywhere, Like everyone's tweeting out me bird box and basically I tweeted yesterday drink. The part of the movie is basically what happens when you draft
Sammy Watkins. Great, draft Sammy Watkins and just close your eyes and hope for the best. When you open them, is he gonnas because he's not on your team anymore? Yeah? I just I couldn't see it was banging the microphone. Yeah, um, it's gonna be really interesting. I thought about this too, right, Like, if we're blindfolded, they're they're good blinds. We're gonna forget where the where the microphone? You can't see right, talking right,
you can't see anything right, that's good. We're easy. Tomorrow has about Sammy Watkins. You're gonna play. Yeah, Sammy Watkins is one of those players who there's a there's a bunch of these players too, right where I've always wanted to share because I've never had them. I feel like other people might be able to relate. Especially for fantasy. You always want to share of a player because they're like a big name. You know how talented they are,
you know what their upside can be. But they let people down every single year, but haven't let you down yet. So you take the shot that was me this year with Sammy Watkins, and it was just a huge letdown. What do you think Sammy Watkins goes this year? Because I was somebody I was thinking too, because I already kind of told myself, I'm out, there's no way I'm
drafting Sammy. Watching what everyone said that about Jordan read Lex here, and then I was kind of in on Jordan reading if you're getting Sammy Watkins and like the double digit rounds, that's what I would take the drafts. And that's exactly and that's exactly where will be right. I'll take him the double digit rounds like I would take him into double digit round because you still know what the town is. We'll see if he falls that far.
That's the question mark, right, Like it will always be little Sammy Watkins Truthers that will like, all right, we'll drag him up the draft board. Att bit, I'll take him in the eighth round here, just so I can get my my share of the Chief's offense, my cheap share. Let me sign off a YouTube now because I want to get into some New York e things. So let's sign off YouTube to do that. Um, so thank you for watching Having New Year. Uh, the Fantasy Friends, He's
up next. Corey Parson Gym Day. Chris Ventures still hungover, so he's not here today. Um, but Corey Parson Gym Day. They are the Fantasy Frenzy Good Squad is up next to listening on the podcast like subscribe right is five stars leave a common New Year, New Likes, make sure it happens. And if you're listening to Live with the Radio, we go another four minutes. Let me do a call the New York he things with you, Frankie dou will
you beat f F like that? I like that a lot um joining with a with a Dave good him The New York Giants updates, not the Giants at all. Uh. The next lost fifteen of seventeen and now we're tied to are doing a great jobs. Now, this is how you you do a tank job correctly. If you know, the Giants should take some notes from from the Knicks. You never knew if they were trying to tank or not, Like they never went full tank, and then they were
still kind of in games. If they beat the Eagles that game where they're up like whatever it was or what were they up, like one to three or something like that, you win that game, you actually still have a chance to kind of make the playoffs. But they go back and forth, and so, honest forth, Nick's doing a great job of tanking as long as you know what happened. Though, Greg, I think there's a very clear
top two in the NBA draft this year. I don't know, if you you typically watch more college basketball than I do, would you agree that there's a consensus top two in the NBA draft between Zion and so the Knicks. Now, based on a new NBA draft lottery rules, all you have to do is finish inside the top the bottom three records, and you all have the same percentage chance of setting the first, second, or third pick. The Knicks will get the third pick. You know, think at that
point they just rigged for them, I'd hope. So. I think they haven't had the numeral world pick. They didn't need Phoenix. They don't. They don't want Phoenix to get it again. I think they would. I think they're rigged for him at that point, I hope, so same all right, other and the last point New York, he wise, uh, Frank, right before I went to bed last night. I mean, the most amazing text they've gotten. And I sell you a lot of amazing texts actually, and it is that
dreams do come true. As a fantasy player, for a long time, I was a monstrous Troy to lhiskey fan back in Colorado because that that blend of speed in power at the time at the shortstop position was on match that he didn't get that ever in the first round of Fantasy Baseball drafts every year, and it was always that that six seven spot, and it was his health was always an issue, and it remained an issue
throughout his career. Got traded into Monster trated Toronto and has not played in you know, over a year and a half now, July the last time he stepped on the field. How to work out in California, UM, the Blue Years are paying to a pot all this year. No, not good. Blue Jay's paying twenty million dollars and he was going to sign somewhere for the bare minimum, and he decided to sign with the New York Yankees. He's war number two his entire career in honor of his idol,
Derek Jeter. He cannot do that anymore. I can't even wear twenty two because the stupid Jacobe Ellsbury he wears twelve. I don't know if anyone else on the rosters, well maybe I saw Yankees Twitter last night, like just led to low ware number two to be fun, and I'm like, NA, don't do that. Whatever. Less. This is how I felt last year about Andrew McCutchen, because when I first got into Fantasy baseball was I was like a junior senior in high school. It's like two thousand eight, and Andrew
McCutcheon was just coming up. He was like one of the top prospects in baseball. I remember I had my first year playing with History Baseball. I picked up Andrew mccutchenon He was awesome, took the lead by storm as a rookie, and it was ever since then like I fell in love with McCutchen. I have like his player's shirt and for last year to see him where pinstripes
was really awesome. I mean it's from the later stages of his career, so we all know Cutch is not nearly the player he wants was the same thing could be said for Tory Slew Whisky. But I guess a fun moment for you and other to low fans, it doesn't really matter to me. I was just like, don't whatever, It's like a cheap deal. He'll play half the season until Deep is back and you know what, basically what you texted me back. Yeah, he'll be a utility inferior.
It's fun, but also like the first half of the season, the Yankees will have the worst defense in that will be history tweam unless they tie Machado, but still a new hard too, Low Glaber and Luke Void. That's your infield defense. Greg Frenzy's up next. No more to low talk. I'm quite sure of that. Staff. I'm Greg songs many fantastic evening and we'll see tomorrow. We hope. Does your
fantasy team suck? Maybe you need us. The Fantasy Sports Radio Network, the only free seven fantasy sports radio network,
