You're listening to the Fantasy Sports Radio Network Fantasy best Friends Forever, To to to Dia, to do too, to do Dina too. Yeah, this is the Fantasy best Friends Forever here in the Fantasy Sports Ringing Network alongside Raggy staff. Well, I am Greg Sauceman that Moodica here as well from Medica Monday. How's going, Frankie? I'm doing all right, you know, to be honest, I have a little banged up like this fluctuation and weather like kind of like one day
it's warm, one day it's cold and rainy. It's all over the place. Uh. Drank a decent amount this weekend too, So I've been better overall though, like yesterday seeing endgame, thought Game of Thrones was awesome. All right, how do you sleep? I was the weekend? My weekend was miserable. Man, it was long. I so you want a long weekend? No, not not this kind of long weekend. So like last Thursday, I came on Friday and so I had a few beers on Thursday night and it wasn't feeling good like
you saw me. We all went out Friday night and you know, drank there as well. Then Saturday I had this party, drank some wine, came back, drink some beer. I was drinking all night. Then yesterday was saying to my I went to my dad's who had shots lined up for us when we got there, Like you said there would be Like I said, there were be healer shots. Well, but the thing is you do one and then he just he just pours the next one. That's what happens.
It's not it was fright. I just felt like my friends were over like two thirty on Saturday night and I had to be my dad's like pretty early. I was like exhausted from this week, exhausted. I was probably doing He's doing well, man, he's doing well. But I wanted to sleep last night. I had some trouble falling asleep. Um, and they went to sleep and I woke up very refreshed, which is nice. I feel good now. But I did have a great weekend. I was just tired all weekend.
It sounds like you had fun. It sounds like you're just complaining because you're kind of old. Maddiemo. What's going on you man? Happy Monday? Frank, would you like your shout at tequila? I'm down now, bring him down, Bring him on down Happy Britos. Yeah what, but no, I agree. I took Game of Thrones was actually really good last night. UH won some fat bits and you know we got an early game this week. Give me honest with you.
I really like Thrones last night. I really didn't. They were just telling me downstairs and said, oh yeah, Greg hated last night's episodes. I really, I was really disappointed. Bot. It was better than last week. I thought it. I thought it dragged a lot. I thought that there was way too much like fan service and Brandon Jamie's literally just all the fans want to Brann and Jamie. Let's give him Brandon. Jamee me, this is stupid. As a wrestling fan should be able to appreciate service. But didn't
you love the second episode, which basically all service? Agreed, I'm done with the fan service now, Matt. We did it. We don't need another episode of it. I completely agree.
And then I said this last season, in the season before that, but you can't spend the first three seasons going from point A to point B like it takes the entire season to get there, and then in this season because it's the last few episodes, like they go to King's landing by the staff of a finger and a guy that's literally in the water using arrows to kill a dragon is then back with Cercy within five minutes. They're like bothered the crop out of me. And I thought, Matt,
that would bother you too. I mean it does. But we're at the point I think once the old man when they ran out of his material, I know he still consults. It hasn't been the same and good. I still enjoy it tremendously, but I was pretty I thought that. I thought the the moment of the whole show was Arias Stock breaking hearts. I like that. That was great. I loved it. I I actually read a pretty interesting analogy about um, the guys who took over writing the
show after George R. Martin. Yeah, it's it's like it's it's like an artist who it's really good at sketching other people's work, but now they have to do their own work, and you can just tell that it's noticeably different, Like, yeah, it's actually like a total that's great. Like the like season six, seven, and the first six seasons were really good, right, Season seven and eight seem like they've been a little bit rush and a little bit more Hollywood overall. Exactly.
I really last night just because I felt like it was a call back to we had a bunch of different things that we saw earlier on. We had that all season long, will be fair to me, it felt like more so than every before, like we had all these callbacks like old things that used to happen, Like the conversation between Tyrian Andvaris that was like so old
school Game of Thrones. I mean that that was I don't agree that's having everything arras Barrats hasn't been like the Spider in a while, sure, but like you have the last week, you have Milissandre and already have a conference, the same conversation they had. It seem two that the same thing, right, It's just overall it just felt like they were It was just they give you a little bit of everything, Like there was a little bit of comedy, There was drinking, there was a sex scene. There was
like multiple deaths. Like also it was ridiculous the dragon died from these arrows after they had a hundred thousand weights on them last week, like a billion things trying to kill this dragon and he just swapped them away. Yeah, I mean I think it's a little bit easier to like shake off some like dead people other than getting the dead. The dead people was pounding on you. There was the question I had, how if she's flying over the you know, she over the ocean, how do you
how do they not see the ships? So that was my first That was my first day, you, Matt. The second issue is one dragon goes down. Right, she sees this, she's next to the dragon it goes down. Why doesn't she immediately just blow fire and kill everybody immediately? I'm kind of with you. My wife was very sad, though very sick. Really, yeah, she was sad about the dragon. Mr Modco set about the drag. We had to press pores for a minute. We got the mad the Mad
Queen has arrived. Some would argue that the mad Queen has been in How are all along, Greg, No, mad Queen's about to Well, I'm just referring to sure, she's pretty crazy, so do we? So I guess with two episodes ago, who do you think ends up on the throne. Well, my my pick before the season was John Snow and I'm sticking by it. See, I'm just hoping it's not John Snow. Ordinarius. That's just too obvious. The show has never been about being obvious. I felt reading the books
she years ago, it would be Gendri and Aria. But are you know, kind of killed that one for me. So I think, in a crazy way, a great ending would be winning. It would be nobody expects. Everybody's expecting to see how she dies and how Aria kills it. I don't know, man, I'm really being Songs is gonna end to the throne at this point. Who can't keep a secret? But who look at secret? But like that she that was another issue right like in seven at one point of this one, I didn't notice this one.
It was like, tell Songs of the secret, sons, I couldn't hold the secret for one scene. The next scene she tells the Darian. Well, I mean I've read a lot about it. It's very like what she's doing right now, little finger. So that's cool. So I like that, Like that to me is awesome. She's clearly little fingering the crap out of this, which is awesome. Maybe we should talk Basbo why I don't know. People are getting mad
at it. I don't know. And every other podcast, the Athletics podcast Game of Thrones, Pat Mano podcast, Game of Thrones. I can't Game of Thrones for the first twelve minutes. Too bad, We're gave Thrones in right now. Well have two more weeks to do this anyway, Hey man, I'm with you. I'm cool with it. Maybe it's a start today that I don't know people are all upset about. I just don't understand how people are playing on platforms still in twenty n team that the whole week's lineup
locks on first pitch. That I don't get. You don't. I don't get that. It's kind of similar to the way fantasy football works too, Like if your players are playing at one, those players should lock. The rest of your players if they played four, if they played eight, if they play on a night football, it shouldn't lock. It should be the same thing for fantasy baseball. So
I agree, yea, I'm completely with you. Let's get to the waivers now, though, because I feel like you s thought my momentum friend, So um, I'm gonna let's go. Let's get into waivers now. High bid this week we said it wasn't a great week of bids. Who in the main event was the highest bid this week? Frank. The highest bid this week was in my league in my main event was Griffin Canny for a hundred and thirty five dollars all right, number one Vivin Cannon. We
thought we had talked about him. Make makes sense. Not a massive amount by any means, but Griffin Canning goes for the most matt where you went on him. I listen on him in several leagues. I got him in a few. In the main event with Frank, I had Low and Canning. I forget who I had on top of each other. I had them. I was like the top two picks. I had it at ninety nine. I moved it to one on nine. I should have just left it at ninety nine. But I think you know
what a guy like Canning. It's the strikeout upside. Uh. It's a team that's so desperate for starting pitching, and in this landscape, everybody you know, you just you have to keep adding strikeouts. There's more strikeouts. Everybody's striking people out, so in order to be competitive, especially in the fifteen team league, you gotta keep adding that factory. I agree, i'm i'm I liked what I saw from Griffin Canning the first start too. He wasn't terribly efficient in that
start creak. He could, he didn't go deep into that game. But no prout with the fast bill. He has to breaking pitches that he used, and I like the bite that I've seen on those on those two breaking pitches that he was using. And he's got a two start week this week or two. So that's just adds a little bit, you know, adds a little more uh price there on the fab bid a little bit more. But overall, I mean they think he has someone that should stick around.
The Angels are desperate for pitching. Their pitching staff has just got awful. They continue to throw Matt Harvey out there. I'm sorry, Modica, but the days of the Dark Knight are long gone. Oh yeah, no, I'm with you on
the days of the Dark Knight. One quick thing is, I'm not so certain Canning has a too start week because I think Sunday Nick Tropiano is a very real possibility and a six man rotation, So you know, it a little dependency how that works out, but I think for now I have it as Trupiano on Sunday, others having his Cannon getting the start, So we'll see, Yeah, I've heard some rumors about this too, that he might not have a two start weeks, so yeah, something to
pay attention to. But either way, um, he does have some upside and I don't hate the price that he went for here, a hundred and thirty five dollars. But big Nicky T. Huh Nick Tropiano, that's coming in? God, this is this is a thing again. I wish it confused with Nick Triviano and Nick Tefish's about big nicky Man, Big Nicky T. Yeah, both guys don't deserve a nickname. Not great starting pitchers. But for whatever, we're still rolling
out with that. Well, that would suck if he ruins, if he's the one to ruin to star to star week here for Griffin Kenny overall, I mean, you know, if they go with a six man rotation, it's gonna be pretty hard to get two star weeks out of anybody. It's just it's just a matter of do they continue to do it week in a week out. I guess we'll find out. Ye absolutely all right, who's next? My friend set up? Is your boy Matt Modica fitting on Nate Low got him for a hundred and nine dollars,
which I don't. I don't hate the price either. I've seen other leagues where um, you know, we play in the league together. The g D D D fifty team total lead, he went for thirty five dollars out of a hundred. So that's thirty of your fab and uh, Modica get them here for for one or nine. What do you like about a Modica? I just think he's a guy that's hit at every level. Uh, he should
be in the heart of that lineup. One up that As of the other day when I was watching the Raised game, they had scored in the first inning nineteen times out of in their first thirty two games. So you know, there's something thing you have to you know, you gotta take shots. I think the guy has. You know, I don't think he's gonna be a batting average drain. I think he can produce runs. And you know, one thing I will have to do going forward is really
tighten the wild. This is where I'm usually at in like mid June as far as when I have left hand, but I'm like a month I had a schedule this year and pretty much with most of my teams. But I think once you hit that spot, you just gotta, you know, reassess and restrategize. But I'm happy with the players I've got good, you know. So Nate Low, you in our just hely went for one sixty three, so not just similar, um, not too dissimilar to say to what Matt throughout one oh nine. And in the main
event Nate Low, Uh, well, we'll see. We we we own him in the island. It in a couple of leaks actually, so let's hope it goes well. Yeah, he hasn't put much together yet, but I agree with, you know, everything that Matt said about him. He's hit across all levels. Last year across I believe it was two or three different levels, he had three thirty seven home runs, So the hit tool seems pretty legit. And he's got a little bit of pop two and its Tampa Bay Ray's lineup.
It's been a pretty good one all season long. I think they've been pretty surprising. They always find ways to kind of just put together a scrappy line up. Scrappy's probably the word that you're always gonna use when associated with the Rays. They is kind of piece things together, but it works out. And this is all with Austin Medals on the I L two. So he'll be back at some point and that will make the lineup even better. Great, I hope, so, I hope that's that's the case. Frank,
I think it's um. I think it's funny. I'll say this rafter the break when hitting to the closers here with David Steo has a robos. I want to get Shawn Kelly as well, So I'm gonna save that um for after the break to go to Hudson went for eighty seven dollars Matt in your main event. How come almost ten percent was spent? Hudson? I mean, I guess it's the two start week. He was somebody I wasn't
sure I was gonna get it. I thought maybe Daniel pont de leone Frank just in the uh in over the weekend, But it looks like Hudson, we'll get that. To start. He did beat up and pitched very well against a beat up on nationals Aline per meant to say, so, I'm not too crazy about him. I think maybe his best attribute for this team at some point is a multiple inning reliever. I think he could really excel in
that aspect. But right now, Sair Lewis has given him the chance and it's not somebody I said, I just don't trust him really, going, uh, don't really trust him this week? Yeah, the it's one matchup against Philly. It's one matchup again and Pittsburgh here, So obviously really like the Pittsburgh matchup. Although the lineup has come around a little bit. Brian Reynolds is playing well, starring Marte Hits the walk off homer yesterday, Gregory Polanco back in the
lineup as well, so it is a lineup that's coming around. Overall, Um, still a favorable matchup, but against Philadelphia, I don't love that one. I kind of agree with Matt like he wasn't a guy that I was adding, I guess in a fifteen team or if you're just you know, you're just tasting the two star weeks. I get it. I wouldn't have spent that much money on him, and overall, just I don't really like the player that much either. So I wasn't in on the bidding on Dakota Hudson anywhere.
I didn't anywhere either. That was he was honestly just not even on my radar here. Um this week I kept saying it was a not a huge, huge pitching week or it really hit her week. Either. Some of the names that we went over, the names we've gone over for a while. One more name before we hit the break. It's Rani Rodriga As We started a DFS on Friday night because he was super cheap. But he's betting like fifth for the Tigers. He's a pretty good guys. Yeah,
he has been. I text you about you, thisterday. Um, he's interesting. I looked at his numbers, only twelve games, but he has three homers, nine runs scored, eight rbi. Is depending on where you play. He has eligibility everywhere too. Uh so eight percent walk great, twenty six percent line drive rate, forty four percent flyballs, fifty percent hard hit rate. So he's hitting the ball hard. He's hitting enough flyballs,
he's hitting line drives. The Tiger's lineup is not a great one, but it seems like for the time being, Greg he's gonna play quite regularly and he's hitting the ball extremely hard. So I understand people wanted to jump in here. Matt, did you have any bids on Ronnie Rodriguez? I did not, Um, I remember that game A week
or two ago versus the Red Sox. So it was a Monday or Tuesday earlier game where he just went off put on a show versus I remember that, Uh first thing I came to Mars would have a guest was a short stop. You know, I doubt it if you want to spend a couple of dollars, you know, if it's like a free bid, why not. Right, If it's it's a free bid, why not forty bucks um in one league? That more than more than I would have expected, though, you know, maybe like a two percent
something like that out of a thousand. But don't underrestate. Don't underrestate. I like him, but what do you We'll get into the closers are picked up in the latest injuries as well to BFFs. I'm on that. Hey, thanks for downloading the podcast, and remember if you want to listen live, download the I Heart Radio app, download the tune and app and just search for Fantasy Sports Radio

Enjoyed the show and thanks for listening. Fantasy best Friends Forever, Fantasy Sports, Ragdio Network. A couple of starting pitture injuries I want to get to in a few moments out of nowhere ridiculous and David Price
and Jamison ti On I was very annoying, very terrible. Um, but we'll get to that in a little bit. I want to go over the relievers that went for a whole lot of money in all of our leagues. We begin UH in the main event once again with Diego Castillo for the Tampa Bay Raised. It's been a mess Matt this season in Tampa Bay with Alvarado and Castillo and Jose Alvarado. UM, there's been very very little clarity here. Why do you think cast you? I mean everyone wants closers, Well,
why cast you at eight? I get I think he's very talented. I thought I'm a I don't had a shot to be one of the best closures this year. Given a full opportunity with the role. UH starting off good the first week, it's quickly evaporated. UH. Pagan was a guy I got for forty nine dollars the week prior, and I had Diego as my top uh big for that week, but then Bagan went out and saved three games, so I flipped them, and I probably want casteod Agant.
I was not really a Progott believer, but I thought you'd go from more than forty nine at eighty one with CASTEO. I'm fine with. Yeah. And it's not just what he does with the saves too, because he doesn't get a ton of strikeouts. Greg he has a good e r A, a good whip. He's got a two two O e r A. He's got twenty strikeouts in sixteen and a third endings pitch, so he's being used
a lot. He's got a one oh four whip. Um, you know there there's been let's see here, there's between those three there's been eleven saves and it's been flick quite evenly. I mean, Jose Alvarado has four, geokst has four and Emilio Pagan has three. So wouldn't surprise anyone if if this continues to happen, you you get maybe twelve to fifteen saves out of the guy, but really good numbers outside of that too. It's frustrating for fantasy overall.
They're they're using three different closers here, but it's working for them. It always works for the Rais. They know what they're doing there. Um, they're kind of ahead of their ahead of the pack when it comes to stuff like this. So uh, it's again, it's just frustrating, But I us understand why he went for that much. Everyone's trying to get saved and it's not like saves the only thing he gives. It gives you good er a whapons strikeout, no, no doubt about it. And our GST
league Shawn Kelly was out there. He went for three and fifty dollars. Wow, Wow, that's crazy. That's a lot of money. That is a lot of money, much more than you know, I think he should have been in maybe eight nine range. Maybe Yeah, if you need a closer, you go over a hundred for them. But it weson go about this with Brad Ziegler last week. Greg, do you know you don't know how long he's going to have this closer job for now? As long as he performs well, he should hold on to it for the
time being. But they gave le Clerk a contract extension before the season for a reason. He's younger. They're they're tied to him, and wouldn't surprise anyone if this team is out of it a mid season and they trade away Shawn Kelly to another team that needs a reliever, it wouldn't surprise me at all. I mean, I get trying to pick up you know, maybe and twelve saves something like that, but I mean, there's just there's not much reassurance here when it comes to Kelly. Three fifty dollars,
that's a lot. That's probably three times as much as Easy probably so givers. You know, yeah, it's crazy, it's it's a lot of cash for Sean ll. You have any shares with Shan Kelly, what do you do? I don't think sure, I might have one, not that I wouldn't h you know, when he was going for cheap when you can get up for like twenty bucks before he was named the closuring Clark was struggling. I understood that I had him in one spot and dropped them.
So that wasn't a good move. But I still think the clerk is going to get a shot at the job back. I mean, for anything, if your Texas you won't. I know, they gave him a contract, but you want this guy performing and the possibility of being able to flip him at the break along with a guy like Mike Marnin and try and build his team up, saving several pictures for their future. I was surprised again at
that much money um for me. The next guy in the main event was Hansel Robless at sixty three dollars. He had another reliever, Saith Lugo. I go at sixty one. I assume that was because familiar gets hurt and said Lugo be the next guy up and when he has get hurt, is that is that the idea? So there was no backup bit on this. So its just I think everyone was kind of thrown off a little bit
by it. He went for as much he did. But the only thing I can think about for the six there is the Stephen matt snews that broke and would they give him a shot in the rotation or something like that. Bus I mean, I don't I don't him get any shames. Yeah, so I thought about that too. No matter, you always loved you, you love lu But with with without Steven Matts for the next start or two or three, someone's in a replacement one I don't think that's just gonna be Lugo. I think they like
the bullpen. How how it's been for the most part. I don't see them as making that movie and throwing Lugo in the rotation. That would surprise me a bit. Yeah, I think to surprised all of us. Again, there was no backup bids, so you know, maybe if you speculate, you throw like twenty bucks on him, something small like that. But hey, I guess you look, you want to go out and get your guy. You think he's really talented,
which he has shown the past couple of years. He's a talented picture, but hasn't really had his opportunity to start all that much. It seems like he's kind of adapted well to this, uh, this reliever role where he comes in, maybe gets used for an ending, maybe two innings, um, and he's you know, he's got the eleven case for nine this year. He's performing very well. So I understand that he's always had a guy who has the high spin rate on the curveball. He has a very good
cur a ball. But overall it could be a short term stay in the rotation if you were to get there. We don't even know. He's not just she's not stretched out enough. I really would be surprised if if Seth Lugo up Marcus got hurt too. Maybe it's a little bit more likely now. I mean it's it's that might be additioned by subtraction. That's fair. They should. He hasn't been awful this year. I know, it's like his past three or four stars hasn't been awful. It's been serviceable.
But you heard, you heard over the weekend that Blake trin And had some elbow soreness and like, oh god, and it looks like he's gonna be okay. Felt much better yesterday. Took some uh Adville has an m r R today. But everybody picks up Luke Trevino and like forty six dollars at say, a nice five for Trevino if he was available. He wasn't the main event. He's in my other leagues. Trevino's out there. But the crazy thing about what Trevino was he pitched like once last week.
That was the first time he pitched like two weeks even though he wasn't on the if dealing with an injury himself. So as good as Trevino is He's definitely the handcuff here. You do have a little injury worry there. I thought Trevino at forty six, Matt and your main event was actually very goodbye. Oh no, it was I was trying to get Trevino. I treated that last night.
He was the one that got away. I'm still really concerned about Blake try and the thing with Trevino is, much as I love him and all the ratios that come with it, would the A's give story a shot. I know he hasn't pitched well this year, especially walk in the Park, but you know guys that have that experience, managers for some reason always go to them and maybe still used Trevino in his role. That was my one thing I was concerned about. But Trevino was a guy
I had forty four dollars one league. I was tired and lost and pretty much around that price. But uh, I think he was a good this week. Even if even if everything's all right with Blake Charling. It was a great speculative when have two responses to Madiga. First, when he said the one that got away, instantly thought of Katie Perry, so to throw it back there and
then too, I actually agree with you. I wrote about this on my Patreon Greggy ding that, Um, I think if something were actually happen to Trying, and I think they would keep lu Travino in the role that he has been in, which is you can use him in a multiple inning set up role. He's been really good at that role. Kind of reminds me a little bit of the High Butchery and Handsel Robost situation in l A,
where they have guys like Soria and Fernando Rodney. While they haven't been good and there honestly not very good anymore, they do have closing experience, and I think Trevino, being as good as he has been in his role, I don't know that they would take him out of that. I still think it's an okay by at that price. It is not like you break the bank and Trevino as another guy who gives you strikeouts. He gives a
good ar a good whip. So if they just want to put the best reliever in there, if something were to happen to Trying in like long term, then um, I think that wouldn't make sense. I wouldn't blame them, but I also could see the other side of that, as Mett Moodiga says, they could go to one of these veterans, whether it's Soria or Rodney. I know Rodney blew another one yesterday, but for whatever reason, he still gets the same opportunity wherever he's seventy five years old
and still still pointing the arrows to the sky. Can I send one thing real quick? Frank? You the reference you got when I said the one who got away was Katie Perry for me? That was from l A Confidential when Kevin Space about to die, and it says Rollo Tomassi, the one who love it. Frank doesn't know what confidentialist. It's fantastic film. Excellent, excellent film. I do like good films. Great it is. I don't know you like this one? That? Why is that? It's not really
your time? It's like a it's like a no war film. Yes, it definitely filmed the war. That's right out. Okay, it's fantastic film. I can't give it a hall enough ready l A Confidentially. I'll write it down and write it down in the notes. Always down for some good movies. Saw Endgame yesterday. No spoilers. I'm not saying anything it was all I thought. It was that I enjoyed it. It was though, really I thought the what was the one previous? If in any war? I thought that was better.
You know, it's a tough act to follow. They're both really damn good, but it's just, uh, the way that they basically wrapped up the past, like eleven twelve years of Marvel movies. I thought it was really really well done. It was a good movie. I liked it a lot. At what point do you guys like to give spoilers to this? I don't know what's what's the ruling. I don't.
I honestly don't even I don't want. I don't want to say anything because it might be you know, some people might not be able to like go to the movies and go see it and might have to wait till it comes out on whatever, you know, DVD, Netflix, whatever. So I'm probably just not going to talk about it for like the next year anything that happens to be fair. I just I don't want. I don't want to. I don't want to, you know, running the producers saying that
when I can say spoilers, can give it out. Yeah, sign for jumping in there. But one of the producers said this Monday, you're allowed to reveal spoilers. I don't agree with that too. I'm kind of like with Frank, one of my friends who came with me to the movie on the list Tuesday, it's like half price tickets. I paid for them, and uh, He's like, you can't tell anybody in my family because you're waiting for my
daughter to come home from college. We're going to a family, but you know, some people still won't be able to see it for another week or two. So I don't think it's right to say anything. And I say all that, and we just poke about everything to happen in Game of Thrones, so that was fine. Line TV. It's different, yeah, I mean, yeah, you should have watched Game of Thrones right now. I'm sorry. Yeah, it's a little bit different
for you. It's it's such an a point where it's like, musty, I wait till ten o'clock because of Fab but you know, oh fab before Game of Thrones? Really MOI, yeah, I have to do. Yeah. I saw Matt actually tweeting about all right, gave of Thrones time like at ten thirty that last night. Yeah. I actually I texted and make sure he was coming on today, and good thing. I didnt say anything at first, like or did you watch Thrones? Like no, well I'm watching it now, so all right,
I'm not gonna say anything. Really good episode though, yes, right, Greg, I'm trying to not spoil stuff. I mean, man Um a couple other relievers before get back to the injuries. I saw in your Great Fantasy baseballationally had a mere Garrett go. He's very very good for the Reds, but I don't know that I'll do anything get saves Frank and Wrestley Glaciers blew another one yesterday and it funds like gup, like there are a few names. He has a lefty, so it's tough to normally give Um a
lefty the closer job if someone were to struggle. I still think that they have a lot of confidence and they have a decent leash when it comes to Rice Ley Glaciers but again blows another saved yesterday. A mere Garrett has been awesome at one point eight four year A has got over eleven case for nine. It's been really good. But I believe like Robert Stevenson has been
pretty good in that bullpen. No David Hernan has picked up a save earlier on in the year UM for Cincinnati as well, So I don't know that he's the next man up. I think it's uh, it's kind of what we talked about. Um, you want to be one week earlier rather than one week late. So I think it's just kind of speculation. And especially if that owner, uh it's actually clay link of rotal wire. If he owns Rightley Glaciers, it probably makes even more sense for
him to own a mere Garrett. Um, is this anything that you've thought about? Mad? Do you think, uh, we're in danger of losing saves here for Riceley Glaciers. I mean, if we're endangered just yet, and maybe they decide to use him more, uh in in in a different role at some point. They hit that at that before the season. But I still think he's gonna get the opportunities. I don't I don't disagree with Garrett. Garrett has been awesome. I hate that. You know, it's it's right to say it,
but I don't understand why. If you're a left handed pitcher and you're dominant, Uh, you know you should get the opportunity. But Robert Stevenson has been a very good surprise this ship. So even one of those two are nice options. And I get it. If I don't Garrett, I would want to go one or the two. I might have want Stevenson just because of that stupid, you know rule with the left handers. The other reliever not
really relieving we ever started it. You wanted everywhere, Frank, I don't know that you got him anywhere, but you asked about him constantly. That was Jalen Beaks, And I think it's it's worth bringing up as we get into the starting pitching now for this week, because Jalen Beaks is not a starter for the race, but plays the multi inning role, essentially the Ryan Yardboro role um for Tampa Bay, and he does not start with pitches three, four or five innings, and he's actually been very very good.
He's a former Red Sox, one of their higher level prospects, and was traded away in the Eovaldi deal last season. Why did you want Jalen Beaks, who in our G S T League went for a hundred and twenty six dollars just for the reasons you mentioned, right, So he's playing that role where he comes in and and last time that he came in technically for relief, you know, six and two thirds and he pitched six strikeouts. He's
been really good overall in the year ago. He's got a two four or five year, he's got twenty six strikeouts, it's twenty five and two thirds and he's pitched. So I think he's better in roto than and like head to head points leagues, just because you don't know how many anything he's gonna throw roll. But I do think that when he pitches, he's gonna give you strikeouts. He's gonna give you pretty good peripherals. He's got a swinging strike right that's right around twelve percent. So overall, I
just think he's a good picture. And as long as he's going with these multi dings. I mean, the last time before h this one when he went six and two dirts, he went four and two thirds and had seven strikeouts. So he's been really good when they're giving him an opportunity. And he had really good numbers in the minor leagues last year as well with the Red Sox.
So overall, I just think he's a good picture. So I don't have any problem with him how much did you say you went for He went for one hundred and twenty six dollars. Yeah, that's probably too much. I would have settled in maybe like fifty sixty bucks something like that and half the prices. But I do think he's gonna give you quality innings whenever he's in there. Okay, any answers in you and Jalen Beaks here met let Frank said, I would have maybe capped out out of
fifty bucks. I get it for the you know, if you're playing a winds league as well, and he comes into the second inning or so and gives you three four innings and could be the guy who qualifiers to win, plus get you the strike ats and ratios. So I do get the appeal. I just don't get the price. I think that's just way too much. And I'm somebody that's not afraid to spend, but I think that's going a bit too high. Kind Yeah, process is too high. Greg,
you know you you're just smiling with it. Was funny, I love, so they laughed. Jalen Beeks has been, uh, the guy pitching after Ryan Static and when the static starts constantly, guess he's like, isn't the fourth starter. Maybe next year will turn into a real starter. Jian Beeks h someone who have on your radar other starters that were picked up. We talked a lot about Anthony DeSclafani last week. Two starts this week against San Francisco. UM.
We had to pick up Zach Eflins. We idiotically dropped him last week. That was on me for falling asleep, so I apologize. So I thought you pulled a quick one last night to Greg, I did it. So you stopped answering us for about twenty minutes. So he Flory and Greg, we we put our bids in after Game of Thrones, around like ten thirty eleven. I started that conversation, was like, let's do this now before we fall asleep. Times Greggy falls asleep. I mean, come on, you know
it's hard. So I'll be very honest with what happened here. So I started the conversation. I was like, I want to do this before we start falling asleep. It's like about ten thirty now, and frankly, I'm here. Let's do it. So he asked the first player, I immediately give a response, you know, before if anyone can respond, next player, I give response. Next player. Judy comes down and goes, I talk to you about some wedding stuff. I'm like, oh god,
and there goes Greggy. It was honestly perfect, Matt. I had Barrier on in the background. I was doing waivers and there comes Judy. Barry gets paused. Next thing you know, it's a half hour later. She goes back into the bedroom and these guys are basically done with waivers, and I felt bad, like, guys, drop the f bomb. I'm here, I'm ready, here's my thoughts and these bids and it's like,
all right, cool, all right, cool, completely honest. I texted Floria on the side, I said, can you believe this guy? Let's do waivers and many leaves. It wasn't my fault. I'm sorry. I was there. Hey, we still got it. I was there, all right, the injuries and what do we do next? From the NFL to the NBA. Daily Rohodo dot com is the place to win millions in

right on Thursday. But Jamie tie On out of nowhere elbow discomfort, which turns into going to Andrews and then all check and he's not coming back anything that soon. This is called that modica a disaster. They say, no bueno,
no bueno. Uh, funny enough. Right before the season that weekend tout Wars Weekend, I was having lunch with Michael Salfino and he mentioned that Um Thailand was one of the leading candidates for an arm injury, which I really hadn't heard elsewhere due to his velocity and stuff like that. So this is unfortunate, doesn't sound good, And you know this has gotta be at least six weeks before you see him throw a pitch, even if it's good, so he might be out for like two months. If that's
the best Cats scenario. Yeah, he's not taking up a ball for the next four weeks. That's terrible. So he's not to get a ball in the next four weeks. So he takes up a ball in the middle of June, and you gotta how everything feels right. Then you gotta hope that he's fine. Realistically, it might be post All Star break. I just hold him out through that almost like Yeah, I mean, look, this is a guy who's obviously dealt with a lot already in his career um
twenty seven years old. He was not pitching up to what we expected so far this season. Greg. I wonder if part of the reason why he was a candidate for an arm injury this year he does so hard. He throws mid nineties. But he so he introduced the slider last year, Greg, But he's like, really up to his slider usage just here, it's up to thirty two percent. So you're talking about a guy who just introduced a slider last year mid season and then starts throwing it
as much as he is this year. I guess it's really not all that surprising that he's dealing with an elbow injury right now. So it sucks. Look, it seems like every single day there's players dropping like flies, not just Yankees anymore, because you know James Paxton dealing with the knee injury, and I know that's that's gotta be one that hits Modico right in the heart there because I know he's a big packing guy. But overall, these
these players are just dropping greggy it. See, we talked about every single year, but it just feels like it's gotta be recently biased. But is here more than ever? Is this every single day there's someone new We're gonna get to him right now. To David Price out of nowhere, I mean elbow tendonitis, and this is the guy who has like the slightly torn what is it you see el in his elbows dating back till last year. So it's terrible news going around man with with these pictures
and their elbows really bad. It's very very frustrating that tend the Nights played trying Jamison ti on Uh and now David Price, and it is it is out of nowhere that you're seeing this. It's very very frustrating. We we all hear elbow and we're all like, crap, this is this this is not good. Um, Matt, if you're a Jamison ty On owner, if you're a David Price owner, what do you do? I mean, right now with tie On, you just team leagues. You cannot drop in twelve team leagues.
You gotta hold on. And you know, do you hear some more news, some more updates. I think he's too talented to uh give up just yet. But as far as Price goes, you know, this is kind of a shame because we saw last year. I think it was like in May, it was early on last year he really kind of you know, changed the pitch, pitch mix up.
He was being really effective. He pretty much to me, should have been the m v P of the World Series, or at least co m v P, because if he didn't take that team on his back in the playoffs, they would not have won it. And uh, you know, this was something you had in the back of your mind, was always a concern with Price because what Frank mentioned about having the torn with the UCL. So look, you gotta hope it's just uh maybe a couple of weeks you just get some rust and they give him a
shot at PCP whatever and all is good. Yeah, but I think you gotta you gotta keep him out of your lineup. Obviously right now we get this update right before the start the Red Sox obviously don't play utill later on tonight, so get him out of your lineup. I wouldn't drop either one of these guys, Greg, I know it's a little bit tougher. Someone asked us early here today, you would you drop Jamison ty On in
a ten team league. Now, that's where you're really starting to like push the envelope, because there's gonna be some really really good talent out there. Uh inten teamers overall in a vacuum. Look, if you don't have I L spots or if they're already all taken up, I mean you have to weigh is Jamison Tyo's upside better than maybe some other injured players that you have. But in a ten team league, Greg, You're gonna be able to find some talent out there. So that's really pushing the envelope.
I mean I would have to see some names, but I would say you probably get pretty close to being allowed to drop ty On in attention, And that was the question that we got on Twitter earlier today, Right, can you drop him? And I think would you would have to know who for? That's obviously what it comes down to, Like am I gonna drop Matty? You're gonna drop tyn four? Like Martine Perez for example, who's pitched really well. He has a two star week dropping it
for a Griffin Canny? Are you know? Are you doing any of those? No? That a kid? You know there's gonna be you know options. And every time I get a question on Twitter, you know, how long do you wait for a guy? Can I drop this guy? It's it's all league context, attemp teamer. Obviously you have a lot short of the leash. These are so many good players out there in league. You know you can't. You gotta let guys go. You gotta hang out to you guys until at least June or later. And in a
twelve team, you know it varies. Those are tougher calls. So everything has its own context. Greg you asked me a pretty good question during the break regarding Pirates prospect Mitch Keller and whether or not he could be a candidate jump into the rotation here obviously with tie On out now and Chris Archer dealing with an injury. And I told you, I don't think so. He's been pitching in Triple A and he's twenty three years old, so technically, I don't think he's that far off from the timeline
when they would want him to get called up. But he still has had a lot of issues with walks the past couple of seasons, and I think that's something they would want to see him get better at before ultimately calling him up to the majors. You want to make sure he's ready, But I mean they might be getting to a point where they don't really have a choice. Yeah, I mean, you know, they got all these guys getting hurt and it would be a serious long term injury
for Jamie Tyone. What do you think here, Matt, you think there's any chance that Mitch Keller is a candidate to get into the Pirates rotation? Here? If it's an excellent that you brought him up. I just heard an update uh over the weekend for the Pirates GM stating that Mitch Keller has developed a sliter this season similar to Jamison tie On, and he's really it's becoming an effective pitch. But they want They're not gonna rush him because they want him to hone it and completely own
that pitch. So I think if the news in a month with tie On is, look, he's gonna you know, he's not pitching the rest of the season, or there's a very slim chance he's gonna pitch, then I think, you know, post All Star break, Mitch Keller could be uh pitching for the Pirates. Yeah, so post All Star break, that's a little bit further down the line. If you have minor league spots in your league, I think he's
one of the names that makes sense to stash. What overall, if you don't have minor league spots, Greg, given all the injuries that teams you're suffering right now, I don't know that you can afford to stash Mitch Keller. We talked about this last night. We talked about potentially stashing your Don Alvarez where everyone's trying to pick up right now. Of the Houston astros. Zach Galen is another name that that I brought up. I tweeted about him over the weekend.
This guy's absolutely crushing Triple A and he's pitching in the PCL right now, in the Marlins minor league system. He's got a sub two years he's got a zero point five five whips because Zach Galen has been awesome. But it's gonna take either an injury or or continued under performance from guys like Trevor Richards or whose Uranius, So I just don't know how he fits into it. It's really hard to stat these prospects right now, greg
given all the injuries that a lot of teams. Yeah, I mean you name some of the players, the prospects the injured players like Addy Gregorys and Aaron Hickson, for I don't think he's dropped, but like like Severino's outside Severnos gave us an update over the weekend that he's not gonna be back until the second half of the year.
We know what he can be. It's just really hard to stat these guys when you know we have Stanton on the yell on the team, we have we have Austin Meadows on the ile, so a lot of people have have multiple hurt players. It just it's really hard to stat these prospects. Yeah, it's it's it's very very frustrating. I mentioned Aaron Hicks was just so this come across um, come across my my timeline, and that is um. Aaron hicks rehab assignmon begins today, so he could be back
as soon as probably next week. He's gonna be a bunch of rehappy Friday, maybe over the weekend. I don't think you've seen next week because I think you're gonna need a bunch of rehab games from him because he hasn't played in months at this point. So probably next week it's great. Okay, Yeah, so Monday, do we get anything on stanting yet? I haven't seen anything on stating Quay. He's gonna like do activities today. Yeah, like we've been hurting.
Aaron Hicks is doing activities for the past you know, two months. What does that mean? Like, you know, me playing video games on my couch is an activity. It doesn't help me get closer to playing baseball, greag, I don't think so one are these guys? Actually that's what I want to know. Where is staying stand up? That's a great question. I mean, aren't you concerned? I am sure, of course. Two weeks ago and all systems go, So I don't even know what to think anymore. I gotta
think it's a lot more serious than we will. We will let on, I know it was supposed to be something else that was bothering him. But you know, looks the Yankees. I gotta say, as a met fan, Yankees have been stellar and staying in this thing and not like falling behind and everybody stepping up. And a guy I wanted this week, but I got like Canning or I got low was Jonathan. Uh. If you wanted to say Lasagna as an Italian, that's acceptable, fair enough. I
feel like this is foreshadowing. We're gonna get a picture of Matt Modiki eating lasagna right after the show if I had something that would be posted immediately flood some Jonathan Lasagna. But I did see some people pick him up. And he's got nasty stuff. He hasn't been able to go deep into games, and any of his starts that he's had this year, he made two starts earlier on Greg he went four innings, he went three innings. This
stuff is absolutely legit. Though he's got electric fastball, he's there their top pitching prospect, I guess technically outside of Domingo Herman, who has been great as well. But I saw Jonathan Lwise gonna get picked up in a few deeper leagues and I don't have any problem with it. I think he's gonna have upside. He's gonna be in the rotation as long as uh Paxton is out. But if you do play in quality start leagues, just no,
he's probably not gonna go deep into games. Yankees are are very cautious when it comes to by the way the Reds game, it was supposed to. Yes, they're in a blay. What happened? You know what happened? Uh ten years ago, Greg, when we had when we had a Yankees pictures, where was the where was the bug delay? Then when we needed to come my poor guys come on? Wasn't Then it was serious started? They started, it started. I do like him, Yeah, they find he's doing some
great things this year. I looked into his pitch usage. He's using his he's using his curveball more this year. His past three starts, he's been really good. The strikeouts have been up, swinging strike rad is up. You get two starts against the Giants, Matt it doesn't get much better than that unless you have two starts against Miami. It doesn't really get better than that. It really doesn't. And I don't have the scientific proof to back it up.
But even when an espression, it's the same exact week, usually like overlaps a week. But I always find that it's one good start and one bad start like it just for most cases, like outside of like elite pictures, it just always seems to work out that way. Like I said, I don't have the uh scientific stats to back it up, just a generalization. No, I agree with you. It feels like that's uh normally the kid. You don't normally see the two really good starts. Do you even
get two really bad starts? Or you get one good and one bad? Greggy let we asked Maddy Moe about some two star pitchers. I feel like we should since that's his four. Right ahead, Frankie, all right, let's let's let's scroll down the list here. We already went over to Sclafani. I know that Matt likes Martine Perez a lot as well. At Toronto versus Detroit, those are two pretty good matchups. Well that how about a Jolisa seeing here going up against the Nationals and the Cubs both
matchups not really that great. No, I I don't look I was made to look like a full week prior. I've been smirched his good name in my article. He went out and spun six shutout. INA's having no hitter going. But I'm I'm taking a past year. I agree with you on that one. How about Vinny Alaska's Greggy. That's your boy, Big Vinny v at St. Louis at Kansas City. So there you go right back into the theory. You know, one okay start and one uh one not great start
against St. Louis, very good line. What do you think here? Uh? In deeper leagues and like a fifteen teamer, I'm gonna I'm gonna roll him out. But in quality start leagues, I am not going to pitch him. He's only completed uh six innings and three of his last seventeen starts. Oh that is uh a very alarming number there, Greg from your boy Vince the last. You know what? So I actually had a choice this week between go with any vas By the star pitcher or Merrill Kelly. So
who would you have chosen or neither? Obviously, Matt, what do you think Merrill Kelly this week? Well? I got Merril Kelly going in a couple of weeks. I'm not happy a battle. There's a fifteen team leagues. I I'll go with the Lasquez and hopefully the strikeouts are there. I'm gonna hope he's got you know, one of those five and five and a third where he strikes out eight or nine. Yeah, he is capable of doing that.
You see that. You see a lot of lines when it comes to any Alaska's where he doesn't go deep, but he gets you a lot of strikeouts. Merrill Kelly really the opposite. He doesn't get a lot of strikeouts, not like he's a great you know, has a great e r a great whip either. It seems like there is some regression coming from Merrill Kelly at Tampa Bay and versus Atlanta. I don't love the matchups, but I do have him going. I think I have him going in one twelve team league too, So I'm rolling him
out there, Matt. What about Kevin Gausman, the gas man at L A. D and at Arizona on fact Greg, I use him on FanDuel on Friday ur BF Vandal contest guy leaves in the second ending. I guess tomorrow's thanks a lot. Kevin Gausman. What do you think, Matt? But you should have been expecting that after what happened earlier they were there was talk. They look at the front at him and I guess the umps were on it and tossed them his uh start, his to start
now bumps Mike Fulton. Evitt's out of having a to start. I don't love it. I'm gonna be honest with you, but I do like the fact that at least it's at Dodger Stadium. The Dodgers themselves are not ideal. The offense has been really good, and pitching out Arizona. Arizona has been much better on the road, and Chase Field is a much better pitching park. What so, it sounds like you're kind of you know, guysman, if you had for me, it's like one of those if you must,
I know, certain people have to play. The two start pitchers that emo. I know another one you love Aaron Santez. You said you're willing to die on the hill. He's going against Minnesota this week at home both home starts Minnesota and Chicago. What do you think here? When I was I'm on that hill, somebody take me down. When he's starting in Minnesota. I don't like that one at all. But the White Sox you gotta love matchups versus then he's another guy in a quality start league. It's really
tough to start him. As much as you know, I want to believe he doesn't really get past a five inning mark, and he's got to figure out these walks. Yeah, he does. Matt CC Sabathia. The past couple of seasons, he seems like he's out pitches peripherals going up against Seattle at home and at Tamba Bay. Not really the best matchups here. No. Uh, look, Ceci has been a warrior. He's been great. He's got a three thousand strikeout. I'm staying away here. There's a lot not to like about
his game. Uh So, I don't want to knock Sabathia, but I'm not starting him in this two starts Maddie mo Modica Monday, follow on Twitter at CCN Baseball. Maddimo, what do you have going on at the Athletic? Uh? The two start article is up podcast as well. Real quick, I'll give you one guy to start this week, and that is Lucas Giulio Lucas Geel a little bit further down going up against Cleveland and at Toronto. I like
him too. That's what like, Jelio, all right, mean strike rate is there, the strikeouts are there, Greggy all right, Jeerlio, it is okay, Maddie, Mollie. That's talk to him next week. That shore's up next, we hope
