You're listening to the Fantasy Sports Radio Network, Fantasy Best Friends Forever. Do Do Do Do Do Do Do Do Do Do Do Do Do Do Do Do Do Do do? Yeah, this is the Fantasy Sports or radio networking. Wait, but the BFFs. That's Frank Staville. I am Greg sum when I'm about how's it going, happy, pumpy to Lots to talk about today, Greggy, some pretty gross pitching performances last night, some bounce back hitters as well. Before all that, how did you sleep last night? I slept pretty well, I'd say.

I'm Judy keeps going to the bathroom and about five am specifically, and you always remember it's technically five fifteen, but yeah, like every because you know, I get up very quickly sleep. Yeah, so five the team. She gets in the beggars the bathroom last three nights. So that's not working out well for you. It's okay, I'm sleeping well, but I just know that she's gonna not go to the bathroom, and I know I don't lean over. You know exactly what time it is and the sun's coming up,

and like, all right, it is what it is. You have windows in your bedroom, I have like a small one, okay, like a basement apartment kind of thing. Um, the last windows the better. How if you you know what I used to like when I moved to New York, what six seven years ago? Now? I Um, I demanded blackout shades, and then I realized, I think they're expensive. I don't want to pay for them, so I never got them. Um, put it on your wedding registry, Greg, that's fine now,

I just used that, just like used to whatever. I I'm very I'm a pleasant person the morning. I rarely get off grouchy ever i'd say so I wake up, but I'm like over the day, whatever I've seen me Well, I watched, um watch a good amount of TV last night, which was good. I finished Barry season two, no, I watched the Yankees. I watched the Yankees, I watched the Bucks and Rafters, and I watched Barry, I watched Spencer Turnbull, Edwardo Rodriguez and Zach Wheeler, and I wish I hadn't

My night sounds better, much better than you did. At some At some point, I was going back and forth with a few people on Twitter. I was like, I'm just gonna shut my laptop down for the night because it's clear that this is not a good baseball night for me. So I'm just gonna close this and I'm gonna switch the game to the NBA playoffs. And that's exactly what I did. Great. It was just not a lot going right for me last night from a fantasy

baseball perspective. So very frustrating, very frustrating. Out I'm sorry, Frank, all right, it's not your fault. Where where would you like to begin? Wherever you want? What do you what do you think? What do? What do you want to do? I started the first game of the night, Trevort Bauer. I mean, he was part of the problem. Yeah, we're gonna start there. You're asking me, he said, Well, I want to do I want to start, Frank by patting myself on the back. I'm not a decision maker, so

you're the decision maker here. Yeah, I'm gonna start by patting myself on the bat, Frank, because that's what I like to do. What you do right in the best bets forever. I said, I like Matt Strong, and I like the San Diego Padres. Frank, you also said that you like Spencer Turnbull in Tigers. I said that was my If I had to pick another one, that was what it was. Yes, but I said I like that Strong, I like the Padres. And all they did was defeat

the Arizona Diamondbacks three to two. Strong, six strong innings, two run ball, four hits, struck out two, didn't walk anybody well. Zachrik he also pretty well seven in four hits, three or in one's one walk, five strike hats. The big bombs against Zach Grinky, Eric Hosmer went deep, may have a chidle single holm, Eric Kindler and that amer Ian Kinsler and that was it. All the runs allowed by Grinky come in the sixth inning. A really nice

picture performance by both of these starters. Curby Yates comes out on the ninth, gets his nineteenth save of the year by striking out the side on fifteen pitches. He loved Hey all you and Kurby Yates. He was your guy this year. Yeah, I love Curby Yates. I only ended up with I think one or two shares of him, but I wrote about him extensively on my patron obviously talked about him a lot here during these draft season.

He was the one that I said, Uh, if there's anyone that can make that leap up into the Roberto O son of the Brad hand T hear of lead closers, that we don't have any question marks about Herby Ates was my guy. So if you drafted him, kudo see you. He's been awesome thus far. Matt Strom has been really good this year, but I do have some question marks, like he's not walking anyone, which is really good and is different than years past for match Strom, but he's

also not getting a lot of strikeouts at all. Great he's at seven point three case per ninine. His swinging strike rate his down over three percent, and I realized transitioning from a reliever back to starting pitcher, like he

was gonna lose some velocity. He was gonna lose some strikeouts, but for your swinging strike rate to go from twelve point six percent to nine point two percent, I do have some question marks when it comes to match Strown, But he's kind of in that tier that we were talking about yesterday with Mike Minor, where you kind of expect some regression, but what are you really gonna do with him? That's that's the question when it comes to match trom Like, no one's gonna be no one's gonna

buy that Strom. You're not gonna be able to sell him. Kind of in the same camp as like a Jake Junas from last year. We all knew the regression was gonna come for Jake june Is, and as well as he was pitching, you could shop him, but you weren't gonna be able to trade Jake Tunas for anything. So that's kind of where I'm at with Matt Strom right now. I like him, I don't really love him. You got a three point zero six year, you got a four point five to xfit four to six Sierra, So I

think there's some regression coming here from Matt Strom. Gregg probably so, probably so. And when we talked to the yesterday, some of these overachieving guys can't really do anything with them. You just put him in your lineup and you enjoy the Enjoy what you get and what has to be Matt strong. For now. You're not gonna be able to trade away. Even the regression comes. You'll worry about that then,

but right now, enjoy Mattron was giving you. How much do you think that you're fastball velocities to change when you go from the bullpen back to being a starting pitcher, Like how much should it drop off? Two miles per hour? Is that reasonable? Yeah? I think that makes sense. And last year Matt Stron was at nine point five miles proud of this year he's at nine point nine, so more a little bit more than probably hope for I thought we'd be about. That's that's what we're looking at.

The slider vels down exactly too, using a slider a ton when slider usage last year thirty this year, So marry Patrick Corbin esque but not getting the Patrick Corbin like results when it comes to strikeout. So just keep that in mind if you have match from that. This might get a little rough as we go along when it comes to match from just be aware you could try training him, but it was likely you'll just enjoy what you get while you get it. I mentioned Eric

Hollisbord going deep. I also want to mention edwardo Escobar went deep for Arizona. He's eleven home run of this season. Um, well, I just doesn't stop. He didn't stop, while John Ryan Murphy also went deep fourth time this year. I Jerry Murphy going deep. Why do the Diamondbacks hate Carson Kelly. I don't know the Carson Kelly like other players as well. Well, you like a player who's sitting one eight four, you I just I this has been one of the more

baffling things. I was on Carson Kelly coming into the year because when we play in these rotal leagues and you need a second catcher, you can argue to death whether you should play with one catcher, two catchers, whether you should play with no catchers. But a lot of traditional rotal league still used two catchers. And I like John Ryan Murphy, not John Ryan Murphy. I like Carson Kelly as a sleeper second catcher greg because he had done some nice things in the minors. He was a

top catching prospect for years. He just was never gonna be able to play behind YadA your Molina in St. Louis, and he realized that there was an interesting athletic article about him before the season that said, look, no matter what I didn't St. Louis, I was never going to get a shot. And I knew that. And this year, like some of the underlying bat ball date is actually pretty good for Carson Kelly, and for whatever reason, they're

just not playing him. I don't know if it's you know, he's not a great catcher in terms of framing, or he's not on the same page as some of these starting pitchers of the Diamondbacks. But uh, it is frustrating overall. But yep, John Ryan murd Fee hits a home run last night, former Yankee great John Ryan Murphy. That is greg A Wuardo Escobar, though I mean you touched on it. It is eleventh home run, thirty two Ribbies to seventy four batting average O p s. Greg He got off

to a really slow start. But you know, we talked about this guy maybe three weeks ago, a month ago, and we were I was banging the table telling everyone pick up at Wardo Escobar. The guys just a professional hitter. He's doing some nice things this year. He's hitting the ball harder, he's raised it a little bit more. H's in a good part of the lineup. Two, So the county stats are gonna be there, lots of like when

it comes to Atuardo Escobar. I had someone asked me a day, would you rather own Max Munsey, C J. Crone or at Wardo Escobar, and I said Escobar, I would think it's for me, it's gonna be a Escobar or I think right now, I agree with you. Like Max Munsey, I looked into his numbers. Still, you know, forty plus percent hard hit rate, forty plus percent fly ball rate actually holds his own against lefties, like his batting average versus lefties and righties are nearly the same.

But the Dodgers, for whatever reason, they love splits. And even when the numbers tell you you know, Max Munsey could play against left handed pitching, he still sits at times. So I find that a little bit frustrating. The Dodgers lineup is better than the Diamondbacks. But I know Eduardo Escobar is gonna play every day. Um, I don't have

any concerns about that. And and he's performing well. So if I had to choose one of those guys Escobar, Crone, Monsey, I would take Escobar, not nothing against Caroline two because he's played well too already. Let's continue on from last night. You mentioned Trevor Bauer will go back there next. Last night it was Trevor Bauer Chris Bassett going at it. Neither picture very well. At least Bauer gave you the six things work four hits, four runs, walked four as

well as not a force for him. He did strike out five. The big last he allowed was a Matt Chapman double as well as a more Canna hole run. Well, get to that in a moment. Why Mark Cana was in the game at all. Frank Bauer hasn't been his lights out as you. Hoby threw a hundred twenty three pitches last night. He was the ground three point nine five r A pending free agent, he's not. He has

one year after this. I believe it's very interesting. Yeah, I mean, they've really really been getting his pitch count up there, so they let him throw over a hundred and twenty pitches last night and Greg over his last

five starts. It all started with the Marlins. I remember that I used them on fandle of that night, and I was tweeting about it, and I was apologizing to everyone since that game that came on April against Tomorrow, and so over his last five starts, Trevor Bauer has a six point six zero e r A a five point one zero x FIT. His strand rate is fifty six percent, his groundball rate is thirty five percent. We'll getting you a ton of strikeouts, ten point five k

per nine, four point eight walks per nine. It's just been a really, really frustrating year for Trevor Bauer. Seems like a lot of that progress he made last year its terms of getting more swinging strikes, really honing in on his arsenal, and using the pitches that work best. His first pitch strike percentage was a career high last year. Um, he didn't allow as many home runs, He had the best command of his career, he wasn't walking anybody. All

of those games that he made last year, Greg are gone. Yep. His swinging strike create is down almost two percents. This here his first pitch strike percentage, and you see this like he tries to nitpick a little bit too much. He tries to be so fine and everything that he does,

and he puts a lot of working. You you hear about all the stuff he does in the off season where you know he's tracking his pitches with all these types of machines and he's he's really like analytical when it comes to his pitches and everything he puts in the work. But I think he just tries to be too fine. I think he tries to be too cute at times, and you see it with his command. He's

not getting ahead and account right now. His first pitch strike percentage is down about eight percent this year, not getting opposing batters to chase pitches, which I think is just a league wide thing that he and I spoke about that a little bit. His hard hit rate last year thirty nine percent this year, walks per nine last year two point nine three, career best this year four point four six. It's just a lot of the gains that he made last year, Greg, he has not carried

over to this year. And that's part of the reason why we're seeing this type of these types of issues when it comes to Trevor Bauer, and it's really really frustrating and to be honest, I don't really know how much better it's going to get, at least in the near future. So the obvious question becomes, are you selling

Trevor Bauer. My answer would be no, because this seems like a really odd time to try and sell him unless you can still sell him based off of his name value and you can get a starting pitcher who was maybe going a little bit later on, who's performing like really well this year. I like, I don't think you could turn him into a Luis Castillo, no chance, no chance, like a Jose Burrios. He's kind of tripped up his past couple of starts. It is like, what are you going to train him for? I think that's

what it comes down to. We all are the guy that we always go to for trades is Jack Flaherty. But Jack Flaherty hasn't performed yet either. Rather have him to get better. I would rather have Jack Flaherty, I think, and Trevor Bauer. Look, you can make the argument for like, there's a lot of bad going on with Trevor Bower with his underlying numbers. They're not good. Last year a two point to one e r A. We weren't expecting that this year he had a three point one for

x fit last year. This year he's at three five with a four four one x FIT. Well, why is that He's allowing a lot of hard contact, so much hardcore, more than ever before, I mean four hard hit rate. He's allowing more fly balls than since uh what year was that was the last time he allowed fly ball rate? So more fly balls, higher hard hit rate, walking more batters.

I mean, this is a recipe for disaster, Greg because you're walking these guys on base and you're giving a fly balls in the turning its home runs, and next thing you know, he's given up three run bombs, he's given up Grand Slams, two run homers, and it's just all stacking on top of each other. So I'm worried about Trevor Bauer, But realistically, I just I don't know

what you're gonna trade firm right now. Someone today said they were loaded at in their outfield and they sent their starting pitchers over to me, and they said, I got offered Trevor Bauer for my Starling Marte and it was a points league, and I said, well, you're loaded at the outfield, I would take I would take Trevor Bauer and just hope that he turns it around. But the underlying numbers are not great right now. When it comes to Bauer, let me go over to Chris Bassett

here on the other side. Bassett, who has been very, very good. He walked six guys yesterday, I let three runs, three hits, uh in under four innings of work. Did strike out six. Six of the one eleven outs that he got were by the strikeout, so that's super interesting. He allowed home runs to Carlos Santana and Francisco Lindor um Blake trying and picked up the save here in

this one, his ninth of the season. Chris pass has been a name on a lot of Fantasy Owner of minds here um as he's been very very good for the most part this season. Would happened last night just the walks just had no control. Yeah, that's definitely it. Because you looked at his last five starts, he allowed two walks or less in each of those starts. Yesterday six walks. It's just not used to what we're seeing

from Chris Bassett. Uh. I'm underwhelmed here, Greg, because against the Indians, it's a really good match up to still had the swinging strikes, still had the strikeouts, but hit by the home run and the walks as well, which we haven't normally seen from him this season. You know you want to be regarded as a superstar. You can see Golden State charging. You gotta find a way to get a basket and stave off some of the momentum. And you know, I don't like killing Dame because we know how good he is. But you know this is where your in the postseason. You know this is the

epitome of an elite team in Golden State. This is where you gotta shine week days to the four pm Eastern on the Fantasy Sports Network and on your popular podcast providers. So let's get an update here on a couple of players coming and going for both the Athletics and the Indians. Last night, Chris Davis said won a bat and then left the game as his oblique and hip have been bothering him and he had an m R I or he's going to have an m R I and it looks like he's not going on the

I L yet. Charis Davis hasn't been right for some time. Rank. No, he hasn't, And we spoke about it when it happened. He was just trying to make a running grab in the outfield. It might have been against the Pittsburgh Pirates where it was a National League park and they didn't have the d H and he had to play the field.

And this is part of the risk with you know, the interleague play and players who are normally designated hitters when they have to play the field, Uh, they expose themselves a little bit more to injuries because they're doing things that they're not used to doing. So I remember that very vividly. He was he was trying to run down the ball down the sideline, ended up I think he caught it and then he ran into like the barricades of the wall and he ended up hurting his hip.

And it seems like he hasn't necessarily been right since. And I know he had he's hit a few home runs that he might even even had a multi homer game like last week against the Mariners, but he hasn't looked right overall. His batting averages at two forty eight.

So if we could get one more at bat and it out and then just shut him down for the season, that would be great, and he'll probably be a two forty seven right right, I would be great, But it does look like he's gonna land on the I L. So, in all seriousness, um, if you had him in your

line up this week, it's unfortunate. If you play in the NFBC, you'll be able to take him out of your lineup for Friday over the weekend, But outside of that, I would start looking into someone to replace him, because it's more than likely he's gonna land on the I L. G Chris Davis for now not on the I L.

More Canistonian d h for Cleveland today. On the other side, Carlos Gonzalez got pinch hit for the last night by Jordan Luplow, and he wanted to get pitch hit for again because he's no longer The team designated for assignment today was Carlos Carlos for the Indians, So it sounds like Frank, both veteran Indians that you wanted to have since been cut in Hanley Mirez and Carlos I didn't really want them. You play five outfielders, so you're just

trying to find anyone who's breathing. Greg, So, uh, Carlos Gonzala is still breathing, but just not in the Indians uniform. So that's unfortunate. I feel like he was kind of coming around. Like I say that, I look at his two ten batting errors, like I guess he wasn't coming around. But yeah, in the month of May he was batting one sixty nine, So no, he was not coming around, Greg. And it looks like it might be the end of the line here for Carlos Gonzalez, similar to what we

saw about Hanley Ramirez. It's been a really fun career for Carlos Gonzoz, all those years of playing Colorado former. Like I guess, first round pick at some point, right for Fantasy Baseball, he was up there. Yeah, he had a really awesome career, But I think this might be the end. I just can't really see him latching on

anywhere anywhere else. It's good news for astar Mercando because it looks like even a shoe he'll start every day now ran right, Yeah, I think so, and he's he's been playing too, so you know, everyone was freaking out about I need to get Willie Calhoun, who is now dealing with a quad contusion quad injury. Not in the

lineup today, so we'll see what happens with that. But Willie Calhoun, Austin Riley, who has been as as advertised, and Nikki Lopez, and everyone was kind of forgetting about Oscar Mercado because he wasn't playing every single day Greg, but he's played like the last three days in a row, and they designate Parlis Gonzalez for assignment, and it seems like he's gonna play every day. And don't look now. I mean he hid an RBI double last night. He

went one for four. He's hitting so he's not performing badly, and he has that interesting power speed combination, more so speed than power. But it looks like he's gonna play every day. So if you're one of those people who are he sneakily picked up Oscar Mercado while everyone else was picking up the other prospects, you might have something on your hands here. We'll find out, yes, we will. We'll find out also of Noe, And I know you wanted to ask about this person. I ask dr right

about him tomorrow. That's Bradley Zimmer, who was a name that we have not heard. He's getting close to that. That's probably what factors into agree. So it's a name we haven't talked about in a while. Rotal World had an update on him from Mandy Bell today. He's going to begin a rehab assignment with Triple A Columbus next week potentially, and he's been out for almost a year. You got hurt running on the wall against the Yankees. Actually, Um hurt his shoulder and when he's healthy, he's just

brought up to play. Bradley m six years old. He's ready. He finally got the opportunity last year. And I know you events are definitely higher on him coming into the year than I was. UM. But Bradley Zimmer looks to be on the way back and could be back as soon as sometime in the middle of next month. Yeah, still only twenty six years old. Like, let's not forget. Before there was Willie Calhoun, on Oscar Mercado and Nicky Lopez, there was a Bradley Zimmer. This was one of the

top hitting prospects in baseball. We were all so excited for him. He was the guy I think two years ago that we were spending all our fab money on was Bradley Zimmer, And you know, interesting prospect. He's a guy who never really hit for great batting average. Kind of actually reminds me a little bit of Oscar Mercado, a guy who has an interesting power speed combination. Back in ten, he hit fifteen home runs with thirty eight

stolen bases across two different levels in the minor leagues. Uh. And then seventeen, the year he got called up, he had five homers, he had nine stolen bases. Batting average to sixty eight career hitter in the minors. So the hit tool is not extraordinary when it comes to Bradley Zimmer, but he does have some pop, he does have some speed.

He can play center field. Right. Do you think this more so takes away playing time from Leone's Martin or do you think this might be the end of anything that we got out of Jordan Luplow, because Lupplo was actually performed better than Leone's Martin. I think it's probably the end of Leonis Martine. I think they like Jordan Luplow. I do. I think they like his power, they like his bat, I don't. You can see, say, a month from now, the everyday outfield being Jordan Lupplo, Bradley Zimmer

and center, Oscar Mercado and Red that makes sense. Yeah. So if you're playing a deeper league, especially like one of these five outfielder leagues, you want to stash Bradley Zimmer. Now is the time to do it. Am I doing it in like all twelve team leagues? Probably not? Maybe in twelve team leagues with five maybe maybe maybe stash him there depends who you're dropping obviously, but fifteen teamers, yeah, I think I would be stating him right now. It's

probably there. I'm gonna be looking into over the weekend. Greg the Red Sauce were bombed last night by the Toronto Blue Jay's long. Normally I would be very excited about that. I am very excited about that. Why is that you don't have any Edwardo Rodriguez and right, you trade him to me? That's right? And I'm facing it. Right, you're beating me eight to one? Right? Well? Thanks? Uh and Wardo Rodriguez, that's you is gonna happen in the

week we've played. It's like the way that these things were, they always work this way. Greg and I've talked about this. There are legitimately fantasy gods. I don't care what anyone says. There's such thing as fantasy karma. All the players that I basted coming into the season, Greg have owned me this year. The guys that like I talked crap about this week, they've owned me. They've owned me. And it just works out this way where if you trade with

someone like I'm facing you. You traded me and Wardo Rodriguez, he sucks for me going against you. Now. I wish you know you still had the Vetta on your roster because you'd probably get called called up and throw a complete game shutout against me. That's probably what would happen. But these things exist, they do, Greg ed Wardo Rodriguez

six hits, six runs, three walks, struck out five. He led three homers in his five and as of work to Rowdy tells Randall Green Chuck and another one to Rowdy tell us, Yeah, And I was watching the start. I had in Wardo and Turnbull on the laptop, and then I had Zach Wheeler on the big screen. I was like, let me watch all my pictures, and I tweeted this out last night, Greg, and and please feel free to disagree with me. When you watch your starting

pictures in fantasy, they know they troll you. Man. It's like, whenever I watched one of my pictures in fantasy, they suck. It's I gotta stop doing it. And I tweeted it out. A bunch of people responded to me saying, you know, the same thing happens to me all the time. This guy said, well, I have Zach Wheel or my team. I turned on the channel. Boom. He gives up a two round homer to Brian Doser. It's like, I shouldn't

have turned the channel because they just know. Like when you flip to go watch your pictures pitch in fantasy, they know and they decide to suck. It's so frustrating. But for Eduardo Rodriguez, I think he has all the talent in the world, but he's just one of these guys Greg, where he's super inconsistent. I have him in two head to head leagues, and to be honest, I think that might be the worst format to own him in because he's one of these guys where he's gonna

go out. His next started against Houston and he's probably going to be awesome. And if it were a one start week, I would have benched him against Houston. But that's the type of guy he is, where he can go out and on any given day he can dominate. He has the talent to do so, but he also has the talent or lack thereof, to get blown up against a team like Toronto. Greg Heading into last night, the Blue Jays were in Wolba against left handed pitching.

This was a very good matchup for Eduardo Rodriguez and the and these two monster bombs that he gave up. We're against Rowdy to Lett that's lefty on lefty. It's just really really frustrating when it comes to with Wardo three walks, struggles with the walk to time, struggles with the home runs. I think he's a better picture for Rhoto because at the end of the season he's probably gonna have like a high three's e r A. But you're gonna have some really good performances in there. You're

gonna have these blow ups. He's gonna give you probably a strikeout for ending and like a one two or one to five whip and it'll look all right by season's end. But week to week stats, Greg, it's just so frustrating with EDWARDO. Rodriguez. Sorry, Frank, Well, I traded him. Sorry, it's okay, Yeah, I just I just gotta live. I mean, look, if you're one of these people who doesn't like living with the good and the bad and like maybe find a way to trade him. You can't trade him now,

because can you. I'm not cutting him, cut him. I'm not cutting just the upside is too high. We saw it last year too. I can't come the last two starts he's a lot of eleven runs combined. Of course, two starts of sweet before that held one run combined.

And that's Rodriguez. He's Eduardo Rodriguez in a nutshell. That's actually before last night, idly enough, the Red Sox had won one, two, three, four, or five seven consecutive decisions in games, some executive games in which Edward Rodriguet started like, how emotionally invested are you into your fantasy team? Because watching these pictures last night, I was like physically ill.

I was so frustrated. EDWARDA. Rodrigue is cruising through like the first three or four innings, dominating Zach Wheeler, leaving him out there a little bit too long, thanks Mickey Callaway. And then I mean Spencer Turnbull. I mean it's like anytime a team struggles against the Marlins, I just want to rip my hair out, Like I was so frustrated. I I feel like I shouldn't let these things frustrate

me as much as they do. Greg. What they do is that happen to you, I wouldn't say the same extent it happens to you as I said last night. I was real enjoying Barry, so that was great. I get frustrated and I make a wrong decision. I get frustrated when my players get hurt, and I get frustrated when my players get bombed, Like no doubt about it.

It's like physically ill. It's certainly not now maybe like you know, I'm laying on my couch and I would just like turn over and just like bury my head into the couch and just I was so frustrated in a good mood last night. So I guess the Marlin, like the Turnbull thing against the Marlins, just like so frustrating. And again I just quit pause before you that I read you the numbers for it was a good matchup for Water Rodrigue is going up against them, Yes, it

was a great matchup. What is it Water Rodriguez? So I guess I just gotta live with it. You gotta take the good with the bad. But based on what I've seen from him, I think he has talent to be much better than what he does. But for whatever reason, it seems like he's never really been able to put it all together. It's either the year he's starting to put it all together, last year he gets hurt, he always deals with injuries too, or just when you think

he's about to break out this year. Look if you two really it starts in a row and then get two really bad starts in a row, especially against a team like Toronto which he's supposed to dominate. So just frustrated, man, I don't know, I need like a fantasy therapist or something. You want to be my guy, Gregg, there are something's going wrong with just like face time you when you calm me down, I feel like I already frank, but you don't. You don't really respond to many of my texts.

I'm so frustrated. I don't want to text people back how much. I just don't want any contact with the world when these things are happening. Like, that's how frustrated I get. I would imagine it's it's probably the same way Gabe freaks out like on his get Off, Get Off My Lawn sticks when when like he loses a bet or has a bad beat. That's that's what I would imagine how I feel when I see Spencer Turnbull or Edward Rodrigue is getting roy I think I'm just

more like exasperated. It's really the word for me, because there's a picture last night who's actually on your list on the pole that like exasperates the crap out of me. It's very, very frustrating. What I would like anger that throw anything. And I didn't have my head buried in the couch. I just I didn't throw anything. I'm not at that level yet. It's all this in the moment.

Don't have talk about to that. Marcus Stroman s five hits, one run, walks six, strikeout four and and this is part of the issues with with Marcus Stroman too, and we've always said this Greg is that at times he walks too many batters, so for the lack of strikeouts he gets, he walks too many batters, like normally, you know a guy like Robbie Ray, like he walks the world, but he also strikes out the world, so he can

kind of wiggle out of some of these problems. That's why you see, like Marcus Stroman has never really lived up to his fruition because he walks too many guys at times. And look, if you walk six batters against the Red Sox, you are so damn lucky. Tod only walk away allowing one run greg and and to be able to go six endings so only has four strikeouts. I mean, this is this is pretty much standard standard

Marcus Stroman. He did get nine groundball outs compared to one fly ball, so that helps at times like you can get double plays, but doesn't really have a great defense behind him there in Toronto. Still has a two point eight one year A. He's been one of the more pleasant surprises in fantasy this year, and I've always liked him. I think he has good stuff, but kind of similar to to Bower Nibbles a little bit too much. Uh goes down these rabbit holes where like you can't

command his pitches and walk too many batters. So I like what I've seen thus far. I would imagine some regression is still gonna come on that two point eight one year probably close for like a mid three to hide three e r A. But he's been one of the more pleasant surprises among starting pitchers this yere in Fantasy base let's talk about more frustrating starting pitchers. And he kept saying his name, so we'll go there. It's

fall Spencer Turnbull against Caleb Smith. Uh. You like the under in this game, and I had it, and I like the bull as well. The well lost as of the under. Yeah, so this was a four to two game actually heading into the ninth inning. By the way, we'll do the best best forever a little bit later on, as we always do. But one on the side that I also like, and I want to meagine because the games starts at one ten pm from time, it is the under in the Indians and Athletics game. Frankie Montas

and ye Free Rodriguez. Nine and a half is the total here. Both those guys picture well enough that game. He's going under Chris Davids in the lineup as well. We like the under there, so make that bad if you can't. We're doing pretty well here, so under nine and a half in the A's and the Indians that game first pitch schedule over one ten. Yeah, technically combined, we're four and two over the past two days, but two and oh, well two and one. But yeah, we do.

We're doing what we're we're doing well. We'll keep track of this and see what happens. But I do like that call as well. So heading into the ninth ending, Greg, the Marlins were up four to two and thanks to some over in the total was seven or seven a half and half, so they were they were room spare and Sergio Romo came in and thanks to some bad defense behind him a few walks there was a challenge.

There was a fielder's choice error, like Miguel Cabrat hits an RBI single, makes it four to three, and at this point it's first and third and Ryan Rodriguez with one out, it's a sacrifice fly at four to four. So they look good at the underlook good heading into this ending, but look at Sergio Romo. So I actually should have factored that in a little bit more when I was talking about that, but overall watching Spencer Turnbull, I know, look, the numbers are still two point six

eight e r A. That's fine. Like, and I included him in the poll and someone called me out and said, well, there was no expectation on Spencer Turnbull coming into the season. He shouldn't be lumped in with all these other guys. I can understand that. That's fine. I was just kind of lumping together pictures who pitched last night because we were going to talk about them today obviously. But he

just had nothing. He had nothing like the guy throws he's got pretty good like vertically breaking slider um and he just didn't have any like, he didn't have any command. There were so many like three ball accounts like he fell behind, and every time he would fall behind, the Marlins pitchers just knew that a fastball was coming, and Harold Ramirez hit a line drive homer off of them, and they were just hitting them all night. Seven hits and five innings, two walks, So nine hits and walks

combined over five innings. The whip wasn't good. They didn't get a ton of swings and mrs either. You could tell the Marlins knew that they wanted to be patient against Turnbull here in this start, and it worked out well against him. It's really really good, frustrating. We're gonna take a break when we come back. Who's the player that frustrated me more than anybody last night? We'll let you know all The Fantasy Sports Network is ready to

Fantasy best Friends Forever Here the Fantasy Sports or Radio Network. Frankie Staffle all hanging out here with you on a Wednesday, and you got frustrated by the bull You were upset, You were grossly disappointed with what Edward or Rodriguez did yesterday.

But for me, the most frustrating guy as he has been from much of this year and once again was yesterday. That was your boy, Chris Archer. Archer is not been the same since coming off the I L and really hasn't been all that good to begin with. He pitched five innings yesterday, a lot of six hits, four runs, only three of them were earned ninks to a Frankie Savelli er he walked to. He only struck out three, throwing ninety two pitches in his five innings. I recognized

he faced the Rockies. With the Rockies away from corpse Field or an entirely different team than they are at home, Archer has been mind bogging, bogging Lee terrible for the most part this year. Frank is there any hope. No, No, I'm just kidding. Well, honestly, I do have my concerns Greg, because I wanted to jump in on Archer. I've we've always thought that he's a talented pitcher. The past couple

of years, I thought that he was being overvalued. He's had an ear ray over four for three straight seasons. This year he stands at five point five five. And I just like the discount that we were getting on him this year and the fact that he pitched in Pittsburgh and it's a pretty good ballpark to pitch in and he still gives you a strike out for ending, but the underlying numbers great. I mean, you might want to you might want to hold your ears. I don't.

I don't know if you want to listen to this. Because a forty one point six percent hard hit rate against him the past two years, that's been thirty nine percent exactly, So he's got some Robbie Ray and him. He basically falls behind an account, has to throw the ball over the plate. It's no what's coming. Because he's basically a fastball slider pitcher doesn't really utilize his changeaball that much, and he becomes predictable, and they are squaring

him up. They hit the ball hard against him. This year, uh much different than years past. Normally, this guy is a forty five percent groundball rate guy. This year it's thirty two percent. He's allowing fly balls forty seven percent of the time. You about that with the fact that he's giving up as much hard contact as he is and his walks per nine four point five four not good. So we talked about this being a recipe for disaster

when it came to Trevor Bower. The guy is walking a ton of batters, giving up a ton of fly balls, and he's giving up hard contact. So it's just it's not a good combination of things going on right now for Chris Archer. And on top of all of that, Greg his fastball velocity is down. Last year it was four point seven point five last year nine point seven, this year nine point two. I wanted to take a bite at the apple that is Chris Archer. I've never owned him before. We had Nick Pollock on. He was

basically begging me like, don't do it. I've done this before, don't do the Chris Archer thing. And now I'm learning firsthand why you don't do the Chris Archer thing. He's just so far from the picture he was early on in his career where he was so dominant. Greg. I think it's his inability to develop that changeup, develop a third pitch, change up, his arsenal um, being able to command his pitches. It's just a culmination of things, and he just ultimately doesn't look right right now. Maybe he's

still dealing with an injury. But you can't start Chris Archer right now. You can't start him. He's got to be on your bench. I don't know that I would go as far as to say I would drop him. I wouldn't drop him, but you can't start him right now. He's got to be on your bench, Greig, who would you rather? Would you? Would you? Oh? What a Rodrigue is a Chris Archer? Oh gosh? Death is not an option, No, sir, I give you the bulls an option if you want it.

No thanks. I would take a Ward Rodriguez, But who would you have warning signs with both? Who would you rather have Edrdar Rodriguez or not? Strump? Oh man, I would would still take it, Awardo. I would take match Strom well, Greggy, is this is this Josh Bell all over again. I could see that. I had to think about it for a second, because you're tak a couple of seconds there. I mean, you're you're dropping. You'd be choosing a guy who's inconsistent, who has upside over a

guy who has performed thus far and Matt strong. But the underlying numbers say that there's gonna be some regression coming and he doesn't get that many strikeouts as well. Ah, it is close, it is close. I would I would still take a Wardo Rodriguez. I guess I'm like the Iran apologist. I don't I don't know how this became a thing. I you know, Florio hand me the mantle of being the Edwardo Rodriguez apologist. And that's where I am at. Right, what are you gonna do with Archer?

Greg You're gonna drop him? I know you have them in a few spots. Do have them in a few spots. It's very frustrating. Um, I don't want to drop him. Well, it's the old question of fantasy. Is he going to be added right away? And the answer is probably yes. I try to sell him low, just try and get something for him. Because like, if you think this is going to get potentially worse, or this is just the picture that Archer is for the rest of the season, then you might want to just try and sell him

and get anything for him while you can. I understand your logic and doing that, But he's gotta get better than this canny, doesn't he unless he's dealing with some underlying issue that we had that and that that might be it. I mean that that could easily be enough. I remember when we spoke to dr he said, I mean this could very easily be something that lingers with Archer for the rest of the season. I mean it might be contributing to his drop in velocity, to an

issue with your thumb. I mean, you've got to be able to grip the ball obviously. Yeah, I mean you look at the past two stars since he came off the ive been awful, you know, just just just just awful of the start right before we heard himself. Do you think someone would give you Matt Strong for him right now? I can actually make that offer in a league obviously. Well, I mean you just say that you'd rather have from than EDWARDO. Would you rather have him

over Archer? I think you could make make the case for it. Of course I could. It sucks because everything that Archer is doing and struggling with his real and you you lead out the numbers a few moments ago, there are no signs where he's gonna turn it around. I mean, this is three years of him not being good. Now, Greg, like, we have enough data. I'm staring at it. He's he's the reverse Marco Estrada, Marco Astrata, always someone who outpitched

his peripherals. Every year you look at Chris Archer, he's got like the sub three five, you know, fhip and fit. You're expecting all these things to happen. But this year, I mean he's up over five. And the underlying numbers with him are also very, very bad. The walks are just ridiculous, and that might go back to him not being able to grip the ball. Greg, and he if he has any trouble gripping the ball. I mean, this is someone who never really had great man to begin with.

He's always struggled with commanding his fastball and manning his breaking pitches and throwing his slider for strikes and being able to use a third pitch in his changeup, and if he's having trouble gripping the ball, imagine how much trouble, how much more trouble he's having commanding his pitches than he normally does someone who already struggles with command. I want to look into a few pictures here. Do you think, like, would you rather have one of these starting pitchers who

have been waiver wire pickups this year? Greg? We're performing well, and do you think is it even realistic to make a trade like that? Like if you offered Chris Archer from Martin Perez right now? Do you think you can get Martin Perez? I do? I do? Yes, I think we can both much rather have Martine Perez right now than Chris Archer. Absolutely rather have Martine perezienters Archer. So it sounds like you have to send out some offers right now. Frankie Mantas, do you think you get Montas?

I don't think you can. I think people who have Montas really like yeh, I'm scrolling down the list here. You wouldn't do it for Wade Miley, would you, Greg? I mean you're a Wade Miley guys, But do you think but like Wade Miley, there's no luster at all? Should you Brad Peacock? I mean, it's a good conversation at Peacock the numbers right now, he's not getting as many swinging strikes this year. You've got a three five nine ear a one point zero five whip. He's been

pretty good. It just doesn't go deep into games. Do you play with quality starts in ear league? Well, you know Brad Peacocks very rarely. Well, neither neither. It's Chris Archer for that matter. I probably would rather have Brad Peacock than Chris Archer? Who else is in this range? Would you? Would you rather have gee Leto? Greg? Is that crazy? Is that too far down? Rean Gleedo is a three year rade right now and he's doing some

nice things today. We talked about g Leto all the time. Now, now, are are you getting to the point where you're selling Chris Archer too low? We get the numbers for Gileto three, three five year, ray To seven xfit, but ten case per nine this year the career high swinging strike rade. You'd rather have Geleto? I think I think this is why I get this thumb issue. Might burn you name it? All these guys and I understand they're all own Mantas and Gedo and strong, right, I get it. I know

exactly where you're going. They're all owned. Why aren't we dropping him? Why are we dropping him? And I know your answer was gonna be who are you dropping before? Right? So there's nothing out there I'm gonna tell you right now is the pictures of my waibor wire like we we had that, We had that stretch where it was every week we had pictures. We were enticed with Greg, it was Martine Perezi. It was turrible. We had all

these guys, but they're owned now, agreed. So let me give you the guys are out there in my league the week I owned Chris, our turn to lead my whole league. I'll tell you the pictures that are out there. You let me know, ready, I got I got a good one for you, really good one ready, yep, Tyler Molly, Well you said you had a good one. It's a good one. That is that is a good one. And and all the underlying numbers for Tyler Mallley are look good.

And he's he's doing things differently this year. I would I would do that. I would do it so hard I would, And you know, Tyler Mallley faces faces the Cubs this week, I wouldn't want to start him for that, But he gets the Pirates after that, and they's the Dodgers and shut out. I'm not scared of. The Cubs are really good against right handed pitching, though Greg Dodges. They have a three forty one wOBA the Cubs do against right handed pitching um and a really high walk

rate as well, so they're just really patient. It's just it's a nightmare matchup going up against the Cubs. Even if I had Tyler Mallley on my team on my bench and he pitched well against the Cubs, I wouldn't be mad at myself for benching him there. But next week I've already started looking into next week because in one of my home leagues, I'm getting destroyed, so it's onto the next week. I'm already looking at that. He faces the Pirates, and I like that matchup a lot.

But is there more trade value for archer can archers for someone who's better than Malley? I like to but those pictures that I just brought up, are they better than Tyler Malley. I've been really good as well. I think they're all. I think he's in that mix. Is that reasonable? Yeah? Okay, the other name on here. That's what you can argue based on the numbers, that Tyler Mallley is better than I mean, they both pitch in not great ballparks. Chris Archer hasn't even faced the Brewers

yet this year. I don't, and they play in the same division. This is not going to get much better. I gotta trade this guy. He's facing Louis Cincinnatia. But you're you just have to know that you're trading him low right now. I understand, But like, there's nothing that makes me things gonna turn around at all. Yeah, I mean, I have to agree with you. I think this thumb

issue might be more than they're leading on. I mean, I haven't really seen any updates or any pirates Beat reporters talking about this being an issue, but I think it might and and how can it be, you know, I mean, your thumb is such a pivotal part of of pitching and being able to grip a baseball. How can it not be an issue at this point? Greg, I I would rather own Tyler mally I mean, at least for the short term future. I mean take a shot on everything that he's doing right now. Would you

rather than Michael Panto or Chris Archer. I'm not No, that's not going there, not not going that far down. Um, Trevor Richards not a good picture. I'd rather own. I would rather own as a two star week next week against San Francisco and San Diego. It's good. I believe both are in Marlins Park and the rock Christ Archer for that, I don't think I would. I've already started looking into like two star pitchers for next week or projected one. Yeah, I'm getting crushed. Michael Waka not doing that,

he sucks. The next man up that I was looking at was Trevor Richards at home versus San Francisco and at San Diego. So it's one at home and one on the road. Not really all that scared about those two matchups either. He's probably the guy like Jeffrey Rodriguez is out there. But one good match up against Chicago White Sox. One start against Boston, so I don't love that. How about Lance Lynn Greg pitching well Man? No? Really, well,

actually we got the last three stars seven innings. I mean he's gone seven four out of his last five starts, Greg get eleven strikeouts. Yesterday, the ear A stands at four six seven because he had to start where he allowed eight earned runs. He had to start with he allowed seven heard runs. He hatt to start with he

allowed five earned runs. I mean, lance Lynn has it Wardo Rodriguez written all over him, Like this is one of those guys where you'll throw him out there in the toughest matchup and he'll perform like look at three start to go at Houston, seven innings, three earned run, a trikes. That's really good against a good lineup in Houston. And then he's gonna have these, you know, at home against Toronto six innings, five earned runs, five walks. The lance Lynn, I mean, he has a lot of it

Wardo Rodriguez, but he's also a two star pitcher. Next week Greg at Seattle, who he just dominated last night, and against Kansas City, who he also just dominated. What we said in the past is yeah, I mean, the more times you see a picture, the more time it favors the offense. So I mean, if you like, would you to have Trevor Richards in those good matches in the two star week grad greg Or lance Lynn at Seattle, which is a good park to pitching, and at home

in Arlington against Kansas City. It's the last Lynn over Trevor Richards, I think, but neither make you feel no. Would you drop Chris Archer for Lancelin right now? But I should? I should, Like you're just never gonna feel good about putting Lancelin in your lineup. That's what it comes to. Never never got what more name for you before you move back on? Ronaldo Lopez dropped Chris Arger

Ronald the lopus. It's also a good one. Ronaldo Lopez has been pitching pretty damn good his past couple of starts. You know, I say that, Gregor say he's pitching well. Still has a five point one four e ar a right now, but six of his last seven having quality starts. Frank, how is this a race so high? Then? I mean he really got yeah, six of his last seven stuff

and walking fewer batters this last couple of starts. But also, you know, four of his last five starts in his face has been I mean, I mean go even further. Five of his last six starts Cleveland one against Toronto. So he's really he's a bottom feeder, right now, that's what it comes down to. I wouldn't I wouldn't do that.

I probably I probably would feel better about Ronaldo Lopez in my lineup right now, and I would Chris Archer, but he's really just been feeding off some of these these bottom dwelling teams in baseball, So I wouldn't go that far. I think that's probably cut off. Tyler Mallley is probably cut off. Tyler Malley is the cut off for us. The question is are you going to do it? I'm considering. I would probably throw some trade offers out there first, but it's hardly if anyone. It's hard not

by the weekend. I probably it's hard to do it for for hitting, for pitching. Straight up, I did it for a hitter. I probably have better chance to getting somebody because people are always chasing picture. But again, you can get one of those pictures who so maybe they're overperforming right now and people don't trust it kind of see the name value of like a Chris Archer might be able to pull it off. I think it obviously just depends on the owner that you do with. I

was like a break. We'll go back into last night's baseball next
