listening to the Fantasy Sports Radio Network. Did we just become best friends? Young Fantasy best friends forever? Our number two Fantasy best Friends forever Fantasy Sports Radio Network. That's Frank Standford. I am Greg Sousman. Joined today as we are each and every day, four hour number two by The Closer Chris Betcher. What's up, Chris? What's up? Guys? How are you doing? It's your boy the Closer assist his favorite sportscaster and uh, you know, I'm ready to

go right and around here to talk some sports. UM. I did want to say, I'm a little upset about the vetted thing. Sorry, a little upset. I'm training for me. Do you have a moment of silence for his fantasy value? Um? You know, I think that it's really not that bad. I think I would still stash him. Yeah, that's right, and I obviously disagree as we had last hour. Okay,

Rangers and Angels. We want to go next is Mike Miner pitched a complete games shut out, three hitter walked to strug out seven the ear and the year sits at two point six. Oh, we just ran through Frank the a l and how they're not very good in general hitting wise. Mike Minor little about a second half of last year. Rangers bring him back is our opening day starter obviously as that prospect pedigree from a long ago with the Bravos mhmm. Interested in Mike Minor, actually

recommended him as a stream on my Patreon. So if you were if you were there and you play in a daily transactionently you were able to pull that off and you're you're feeling pretty good, but no, it wasn't awesome. Start here for for Mike Minor, the underlying numbers Greg say that he's been pretty pretty lucky. He's got two point six zero e A his his exfit it's four point six eight, which is interesting. Um, the batted really low at to eleven he doesn't. He's not getting a

ton of strikeouts, just a seven K per nine. But I think more strikeouts are gonna come from because if you look at the swinging strike rate, he's eleven and a half percent. It's a bubbly gaverage. It's it's up from last year. Last season he was you know, nine point nine percent. His first pitch strike percentage is up as well, so he's getting more swings and mrs. Yet his kper nine this year is down from where it was was that last year. That doesn't necessarily add up

for me. So I think more strikeouts are coming for Mike Minor. I saw on rootal World that a few teams are interested in picking up Mike Minor, the Mets and the Phillies. So if that were to happen, he could end up in a you know, I think city Field would be a better location to pitch than pitching in Texas. Obviously Texas is a great hitter's ballpark. I have some interest, you know, my bench picture, end of my rotation. I just I don't think that he's a

it must add by any means. He's doing some nice things to start the year, and I think in the right matchup like last night against the Angels. I like

that matchup. That's fine, he's a matchup play. I don't think he's a must add though, Okay, fair enough, Yeah, um, it's hard not to like what he did, you know yesterday, complete game shutout seven k's I mean, but I'm I'm I'm with Frankie, Like I wouldn't say, oh, we gotta pick him up now, I mean I would like to see still a little more because we've see you know, Minor has been around for a long time, uh and gets injured a lot and doesn't produce on a on

a consistent level a lot, so it takes a lot more for hit for us to buy back into him. Right as a fantasy community Fastball Velocity is up for him this season, so that is worth mentioning. And he's using his change up more so, you know, the vl O being up and the fact that he's changed his his pitch usage a little bit. It has my attention, Like, he's definitely a guy that I would pay attention to and again matchup plays Greg, But I don't think he's a must add. Where are you ad on on Mike Miner?

Like are you dropping Nick Pavetta right now. For Mike Miner, probably he is. I picked my own brand here. I picked my Miner up in the pit league, and I was willing to drop Nick Pavetta for him, and again I had the empty roster spot, so I didn't. All right, so you would do it, basically, That's that's what you're saying. I wouldn't, but I understand streaming him in the right match, staying on brand. Last night was the right match for

the Rangers. As Drew Cabrera, he's the only two. He's got six home runs now on the year, six home runs. The o VP is awful at two eighty three, but six some runs you can't really ignore from a middle infielder. Yeah. Absolutely, And you mentioned look the two eighty three o b P compared to the two only two average. You know, if if he's batting two fifty, then his OVP is

you know, right around three ten, three twenty. So it wouldn't look that bad if the batting average were to come up, and I think it will, like we have enough of a sample size from as Drubo Cabrera. He's a veteran player, but you know, I thought he was sneaky during the draft season because of his position eligibility, and he's gonna play every single day in a good hitters environment. Look, you know there's there's a jet stream out in right center field for for Texas Rangers hitters.

And you know a dr Cabrera is a switch hitter, but most of the time he's gonna be batting lefty because he's going against right handed pitching. And you know there's a wind tunnel that you know, the ball just travels out to right field and right center field for for Texas Rangers hitters. He's in a good spot, man, And given the position versatility, you know, I don't think he's a free agent anywhere, Greg, But if you're drafted

him late, you're obviously pleased with what you've gotten. And I don't know if it's far off from what we're gonna get the rest of the way. Like if as Drubal Cabrera hits twenty five runs this year, it wouldn't surprise me at all. Any Santana got started second base logan foresight at first base kind of like he predicted yesterday, Frank, they batted seven and eight in this lineup. Uh, Danny Santana went over four, Lugan Forsyth one for two with a walk. Elvis Entrepris moved up to the two spot.

And you said it yesterday, Chris, that watch out for No. One Rossari, he's about to get hot. Uh. Mazzara was one for four yesterday. But I believe I had an r V I double. Yeah, that was r B I double. Uh in the first Joey Gallow has gotten a bit hot as well. As Gallow hit his sixth home run of the season. I know our guy Drew dig Meyer left like to believe Joe about Joey Gallow today from TFS as well. So Joey Gallo at three three off

the way, nice star. If you can keep that average where around where it is at five love Joey Gallow and and and that's what I was saying regarding him throughout draft season. Now his his batting average could fluctuate very quickly because he strikes out so much. What I said about him was, if he can get two thirty to forty just in that range, yep, he's he's a top fifty hitter and right not fifty place right now, it's a you can stay around two forty like that

you know, that's what sinks you from a roto perspective. Normally, you you can't take on too many guys who are gonna hit below to fifty, let alone guy who's gonna hit around two hundred. You can't take that on in a road a league because it just tanks your batting average. He's gotta have crazy power and so much. But again, if he's hitting to forty and hits forty home runs,

I mean that's a huge step we're talking about. You know, forty points batting average, a huge step, and you know it'll mean to hire o BP and you know, just higher overall stats for him. He's even better in point seas, averaging five point won't fantasy points in points leagues right now, that's top elite level, your points leagues where there's no strikes, there's no right. It's the case. It's extremely important to remember. Okay, yes, I can remember that. I'm sorry. In a strike out league,

I guess you're probably missing a whole point there. You know, he's probably around four I would say three point eight. But um still listen, I was wrong about the guy. I think that this guy I thought he wasn't gonna be anything and was just literally gonna fold away. But you know, if he could keep that up, it's anomaly. It's rare and baseball to see a guy that could hit for such low average but consistently hit home runs

and produce that's pretty crazy. So you know, I'll give kudos shout out to my boy Joey Gallo over there. Since we're talking, he's this generations Adam done. That's what it comes. Absolutely. Since we're since we're talking about guys that pitchers that let you down last night and didn't let you down. You called Glass, you called Nick Pavetta before, potentially this year's John Gray, right, the fifth guy, Joe Gray was awesome last night. Seven things of three, hit ball,

one run, walk three, struck at five. It was a person that he was facing that wasn't so good. Do you know who that is, Frank, Yes, I do. It was it was Nick market Vicious. Oh man, are you dropping Nick Vicious here? Greg? Nick Vicious seven hits, five runs, four innings, only walked one, sugout seven. Yeah, that's not bad. The walking k ratio seven feel pretty good for Nick Vicious.

Why don't you drop Nick Pavetta for him? But right, now dropped Nick Pavetta for Nick Margaret Vicius, One Nick for another, one Nick lead to another like that John Grey's performance and nick us John Gray. I thought it was a solid performance here he had a thirteen swinging strikes on eighty nine pitches. And look it's back to back performances now against the Giants and the Padres, both on the road, where he's performed very well. He's gott

a near sixty percent groundball rate. We always knew that John Gray can put it together. And you know, thus far through four starts is the r A is two point four two, and his x fit is is here as three point four two, and his expit is three point six three. So he's right on part We've always wondered, you know, can the ARRA be around where the xfit is? And to start the year it has been. But three of his starts have been in Marlins Park in San

Francisco and in San Diego. Greg I am not a John Gray guy, admittedly to me, even more so than a guy like Tyler Glass. Now this streams, this screams sell high. I'm probably selling them to Chris Ntra. I'm I'm higher on Gray than I am Glass now, um, before the season and now yeah, I'm still I mean, I'm a great guys. Just love Colorado guys. Man, No, I like Gray and Marquez, and you gotta like Freeland and I kind of like Freeland. I do well this

year's Colorado Rockies. Yeah, I never liked Rockies pictures in the past. Though he's a rescue for disaster buddy. Well, I'm not saying have all three of them on your fantasy team. That's probably a disaster. But um, John Gray, I do like I've always like John Gray. I like guys at k people, you know what I mean. Uh, And the guy throws, you know, for the most part, like a guy like that, pantalizing metrics like that, you want him on your team now, I know, yes, sell

high because he could be a radic. He could get Sheldy's in Colorado at home. It's a bad start always, uh, and you know, the walks might be an issue, But I think he's growing. I think he's been in league long enough to make a turn for the better. So I would be quicker to sell on Glass now being a more unproven player than Gray, and you know, hold Grey. But yeah, I want I want to see what kind of trades are going on regarding revolving around John Gray.

Right now, let's see this. I'm gonna look this up on on yeahoo, let's see we got here John Gray and mcgull Cabrera for Julio Tehran and Raffie Devers. Okay, that's it doesn't really help anyone. John Gray for Byron Buckston. Look at that like the bucks inside. Yeah, I would I would rather have the Oh God, greg Don Gray for Juan so Tho, who's the clown? Who's the mouse in the house? Who pulled this one off? Who did that? I was looking at Yahoo trades. These are just trades

that are going down in Yahoo right now. Oh God for Colorado last night and Clint Fraser for John Lester from the hitter, from the hitter side of things, No, Narado, homer's for the third day in a row. When I gotta when a power hitter like him gets hot, he

just keeps rolling. Three three days, three home runs now for Nolan Aronado, a two run shot in the first Garrett has Hampson baby hits his first career home run, also stole his first base of the year, and it was clear a game plan against Nick Vishus and Francisco Mahill last night, They're gonna run wild. Trevor Story stole three bases on the night. Garrett Hampson stole his first base of the season. Mark Reynolds even stole a base. Clearly, they were gonna just try to run all night. They

were successful. So um, great news obviously, the own Trevor story. And hey, Garrett Hampson batting that two hole. He's got a hit in order to stay in the line up. When Ryan McMann comes back, and when David Donald comes back, I'll expected to return to tomorrow potentially potentially tomorrow and likely the weekend. He'll be back before next week. So with all that being said, Hampson had hit in order to stay in the lineup. He's gotten a little bit

hot as a late a modest hitting streak. Now for Garrett Hampson, has he done enough, We'll see, we'll see. I mean he plays the outfield now too, So that's guy he can and this is how they used him in the spring. They used him in the middle infield. You can play second, you can play short, you can use him in the outfield. So you know he can do whatever is asked of you, and he's now he's he started six eight, nine games in a row. He started, and uh yeah he's got, he's got seven game, he's got,

he's had. He had multiple hits yesterday, he had three runs scored, He at a home run, he had a stolen base. I think that was a breakout game for Garrett Hampson last night. And again this is before they even get back to Corsfield. Just five games right in Colorado. This far he's doing too. They're about to have four games against the Phillies. Bombs too. He didn't get told Erid is not horrible and he won't see he's horrible. Come on, it's Garrett Hampson. If you guys had to guess,

what is uh his sprint speed? What percentile the league doesn't ranking right now to start the season. Where do you think garretentile, Terence Gorange, His kid is fast man and he get hit homes, sneaky home apout, not even in coors Field. Yet everyone's been asking is he must add Greg? What do you say right now? And Yahoo? So wait, we're owners of him, so it's different, right, We're not. We're guys who were worrying about dropping him recently.

I was actually thinking about dropping him possibly this week, saying let's see how he does this, because I might drop him. You're Rocky's fan, right, I don't think that Garrett Hampson's they must own And maybe that's too patient of me. Yeah, that he's not a must I don't think he's a must done you. I think in Rhodo and categories leagues, I'm interested, man. I think in those formats he's a must owned because for the same reason

why people were drafting him. It's you know, it's kind of similar to put that obviously not the same because Pavetta hasn't done anything and he just got sent down. But you drafted these guys for their skills, their underlying skills, right,

you think they can be moving forward? Right? So you know, people didn't cut beat with Garrett Hampsen and are we gonna sit here right now and after he has his breakout performance and say that he doesn't he's not a mustown player and they're about to have four games in course field against the Phillies. So I think the conversation. But I think what you're saying is very different, right, Like what you just says we drafted him hoping the underlying numbers would come, and that's why Chris and I

held out. They're starting to come. Yeah, definitely, and that's why Chris and I held onto him. Wouldn't you want to pick him up before he really really starts. I think it's going in course field. I think events who you're dropping it for him? Like, I'm still concerned about playing time. I know he's played nine straight games in a row, but the big Man and Dollar coming back, I don't know how that changes. If he's performing like this, I'm not gonna take him out of the lineup. You're

absolutely right, Okay. You know we talked about Scott Kingdom early on. It's kind of a similar situation very much. But it's even better because in course field, so and I think the upside is better for a guy like Hampson versus Kingary. They're not completely dissimilar players, they're not. But Garrett Hampson I think has a little bit. He

has speed here. There's no doubt about its Listen here, I mean, here's a possibility right that mcmahn and Dollar come back, it is Ian Desmond that loses his playing time. I was thinking that too, unless they're just playing him because of the contract. But if they want to field their best team and Garrett Hampson's performed, well, why why

wouldn't they start him over Ian Desmon. They might, they might, and they might platoon them kind of with Campson on the better side of the platoon, meaning he'll actually play more. I mean, like they'll they'll probably play left field, and like both of them center field. Well maybe they play centerfield center field because he had dolls in life, all right,

So then you got they'll they'll split it. But like I think that Hampson will get more because he's earning it now, and if he stays like this, he might take over completely. Well, I think what you said is probably true, Frank, And that is that was the name I haven't mentioned, as Daniel Murphy who coming back to at some point. That's another name in this cons agreed. What all these names are coming back? I don't know.

I don't think it must when we come back. Let's let's go through a few middle infielders and figure out whether or not we would drop these guys. Okay, we'll do that, and we'll hit on some other games, including Christian yellows NonStop barrage against the cardinals. It's me against Frank as wells figure out more on the way after this. hanging out. Frank, you little of these middle infields you want to do over? Yeah, I'm taking a few questions in the chat to a lot of people have questions about Garrett Hampson right now? Would you drop Alex Verdugo for Garrett Hampson? What do you Blinger, by the way, returned to the line up today for the Dodgers. Also in the Dodgers lineup Alex Verdugo today, so they're in the lineup together, Greig, would you drop your Verdugo who

you've been stashing for Garrett Hampson? They played the positions, so just in a vacuum. So taking a look at this lineup, I do want to know once again, no Justin Turner in here, who has battling ankle and hamstring soreness. So once all the other day he kind of came up Wayne running through first base, so he said that he hoped to be back in the line up today.

He's not a day of Turner. He's always kind of No Corey Seeger in this line of either Corey see her out of the day all this, Chris Taylor gets his day game after the night game. So Beldier is not playing either, said is in the lineup playing playing first? What I do when I drop him? What I dropped Verdugo for Garrett Hampson probably not, probably not in a vacuum. For me, I think Garrett Hampson has more upside just because of the speed. No Verdugo is never gonna give

you that right, but he could be great. Would you rather have because I know you like Verdugo to I do. I like him both a lot um. I think right now because of Hampson kind has leaving or not some sort of security in this lineup right now because of all the injuries, also batting second every day. I think I'd rather have Hampson right now. Plus he's also gaining that outfield eligibility which he already has in Yahoo and I think ESPN and he'll have soon. Uh, so he

has more eligibility and he has the outfield. I think I'd hold I'd rather have Hampson right now, but I would like to have both essentially agree. I agree with you know. So we got two to one for for Hampson over Verdugo, but try and own both of them. A few other questions we've got Greg was, how about Brandon lou Brandon Loud versus Garrett Hampson earlyer Garrett Hampson. I think he does a little bit of both. I don't. I don't hate Ran Allowed, I know that have Garrett Hampson.

Me personally, i'd rather have Brandon Loo just I think the playing time is a little bit more concrete. And he's been awesome. Man. I really like what he showed me in the minors last season. Um and the Rays like him a lot too. He had a huge spring training in the game of contract extension. He's not everything he's that's been asked him. He's hitting two eighties, six or Homer's ten ribbies, two stolen basis Brandon Low. So for me it's him, also beats in a great part

of the lineup. Would you rather have Lour Garrett Hampson, It has to be Hampson. I mean I drafted Hampson Allows actually in the free agent pool in my home league. Okay, so it looks like I'm the loan soldier they're going in with, going with Brandon Low constant team greg Our buddy asks drop a fran Mill Rays, get Garrett Hampson. I would, yes, I would, Yes, I would not, but I'm a big friend, will raise guy. We're really on opposite site. We're on opposite I like, I like Hampson

and I get it. They both can have their playing time concerns, but I just think fran Will Raises upside

is massive. Heat also doesn't have Well, he's been playing every day recently, but like it's not guaranteed that he'll be in the lineup all the time with that crowded outfield, but they've been creative to get Franmo Rays in there, and he's been batting second to and again he's you know, one of the league leaders in terms of where his averages and what he's expected batting averages expected batting averages

over three hundred. It's making really good contact too, and I think once that starts to come, once the hits actually start to come, I think he's gonna play more often than not. Right now, he's been four so you know, but I mean, you know, he's a power hitter. Uh and if he does go closer to three hundred, that is great, But right now I would go Hampson as well. All Right, this is a little bit too cute in

my opinion. Someone's asking Garrett Hampson or Paul Deyong. Yeah, I mean that that's ah, that's an easy one for me. A couple other ones that I asked you about during the brake, Raig, was it Parazza? It's even terrible? Was it? Paraza is hitting one homer, one stolen base, mostly been towards the bottom of the lineup for the Reds. What are you doing with the Jose Parraza? Would you drop

him for Garrett Hampson? Where you're just holding on in general, you have to hold on for right now, I think, coming from the guy who wants to drop everyone, I'm not gonna drop Jose Prazza. I would you would, Yeah, I'm yeah, I'm with you, Greg, I'm not dropped. I would drop Parrazza for Hampson. I'm not dropping Parazzi yet.

I mean, especially when you drafted him to you probably spend a gre No, not that that matters a ton at this point, but you probably used like a seventh eighth round pick in what in my Great Fast fifteen team? He in the fifth round, the fifth round, people were excited about parz I don't think that you could just give up on it. He has owned a lot to in ESPN SEV, but he didn't even get drafted. Greg Colton Wong is kind of cooled down. You're dropping Colton

Wong to get Garrett Hampson. I don't what has Wong done recently? Uh? Moveed off? He's he's cooled off quite a bit, cooled off quite Oh my god, he's been terrible. Oh my god, Frank, why do we still own him? Well, you know what a home at four homers and he has seventeen twenty three, he's two ers, that's twenty three. It's awful. All right, Look if we can find someone to drop him four sure he was Garcia's Garrett Hampson one of those players. Yes, you're dropping Colton Wong for Garrett.

He played second. Yeah, I think it will. That's that's a middle infield spot. I agree with you guys that I wouldn't make that. I would make that. I wouldn't have picked up Colton Wong. And I told you this when we were talking about him when he was hot. Come on, I said it wasn't gonna last, and it didn't. And I got a question for you because this is someone that you like as well. Eddel Marte Garrett Hampson. Kendel Martin has been great. Yeah, well the betting advert

has been great. He's two thirty nine, but four homers thirteen Ribbies, two stolen basic bags overall, I mean, nine run squad. How do stats look nice for a triple? He's got a couple of doubles. I can't do that one. Yeah, I would Mate is a safer, safer play right now, guys, let me Ryan Dozer get rid of him. Doje Garrett Hampson. Let me move on from Garrett Hampson. Guys. There's a lot more I want to get to over the next

half hour, including what Shane Bieber did last night. Six and things of four hit ball, one run, he did, walk three, he struck out a five tough Mariners line up, and the Indians come away with a victory. They look now Tenant seven get a little hot all of a sudden, Francisco Lindor get home run in his first rehab games last night. Things coming back around, and Shaby were doing

his job. Yeah, Greg, A lot of people early on in the season we talked about this a lot doing victory lapse regarding the Minnesota Twins versus the Indians, and I love the Twins this season, don't get me wrong, but I still didn't have them winning the division. I still thought the Indians were gonna be really good on the back of their starting pitching. And I know they lost Clevinger, but you know, here we go there ten

and seven, and that's before they get Lindoor back. Uh. You know, their line was kind of getting healthy now, so you know they're only gonna get better and they're ten and seven. So for all those people were like, oh the Cleveland Indians, they sucked to start the year. Uh yeah, where are you now? It doesn't look too good.

But Shane Bieber I actually watched a lot of this start Greg He really wiggled out of some trouble a lot here, and it was more mainly because of the walks, which it was interesting to me because you know, there's a guy that normally has really good command, but you know, the first pitch strikes were necessarily there. Yesterday, Um, you threw a hundred and six pitches, only sixty four strikes, so forty two balls. That's not a great ratio. So I didn't think he was lights out, but he still

fought through it. I can say very good mariners lineup last night. The swinging strikes for Solid he had he had twelve out of a hundred and six, So again Solid didn't blow me away by any means, but still almost had a strike up for any he gave you what you wanted to. But me personally, I'm I'm always going to be critical of Shane Bieber because I hold him close to my heart and I always wanted to perform well, but I felt like he didn't have his A plus stuff last night. Was still able to will

through this startrek. Yeah, I don't think you should be too critical just because of how poorly a lot of you know pictures. We hoped we're gonna be good this year. That's what I'm saying. Like he's still one of the best pitches in the league right now when in high regard. I mean, so there's not wrong with Bieber right now. I don't think, uh, you know, he's surpassing people that I don't know. Sales a big problem. He's done everything that that's been asked of him. He's done. He's done

everything that's been asked of him. On the other side, Mike Leak six innings, eight hits, two runs, walk, nobody struck out four. I know everyone likes to hate him, my Leak. He sucks, definitely sucks, but a lot of people picked him up for two start weeks and they might have picked him up because he was facing the Indians. And I'll say this, I think if you picked him up, you're you're thrilled with this. No walks. Uh. The whip wasn't bad either, eight hits and six innings. It's fine

to earn runs, give you a quality start. I think if you picked him up and streamed him, you feel great about shame overall. I don't think he's good, but shame on you if you picked him up, because then if you if you're if you're the guy on the other side who had to face him, say, um, Mike Leak just pitched a gem versus kidding me. You're pissed right now. This is what you want you up season? Though? Is you want to in the right matchups. Now it

doesn't work out. Looking at you, Spencer turnbull ding Dong, we needed you against the Indians. But I think early on in the season, you know, I've talked about three spots that I don't want to pitch guys Horsfield Milwaukee and in Citizens Bank in Philadelphia. So if you have to bench some of your back end rotation or middle rotation guys in those spots. You have to find pictures who have good matchups, and then you end up streaming guys that you don't necessarily want to but they have

good matchups. I go and Mike Leak in your right. If that's how you end up with a guy like Mike Leak in your especially a two start in a weekly league, you know there's not a lot of people pitching two starts every week. So on the wave of you gotta fine, you can. But Mike Leak is just an innings eater, it's all he is. I don't really want to experience inting EA rarely rare sight. Carlos Antanna struck at three times in this one, but did have an r v I double uh to help fantasy owners there,

Jason kit has returned. Stole a base. Sorry, Frank, you know you're upset about that, but just being fair towards Jason kitnas he's been very good since he's returned. He's I thought you like him miss he picked him up. Yeah, but I don't like to be stole a base for my team because you know I'm anti stolen basis. Oh, this is a pit in the in the pit league, it's a head to end categories league where I I

am actively punting. But normally, if you're playing a road a league, you want all the stolen bases you can get, So I'm just kind of kidding about that. But Kipness has been great. He has three hits in his first two games back. I get a run scored yesterday, stole a base too. There you go, right back in the middle of the lineup. Greig adding third for the for the Indians lineup. It's kind of been a merry go round, merry go round with the let's see who else is

gonna beat third in the Indians line up next. But in the short term I have interest in Kidness, especially in deeper leagues. I think he might be available in some fifteen team leagues. All that great. Would you drop Colton Wong for Jason Kidness? Yes? In a deeper league, yes? And what do you think you hate? Killed him long? Yeah, I'm not not. I like Kitness. I've had Kimness a lot over these He's gotta stay healthy. Yeah, It's it's always been thinking for Kidness because he's got some pop

and he's got some speed. Obviously, you know what I mean. He could be like a fifty guy. Um if he plays a whole year. Uh but yeah, listen, this just shows how big the lineup is. Though you're throwing Kipness him right away to the three spot. They were hurting for some bats and Lindor in you have last night. I don't know if you guys saw this, but hit a bomb, absolute bomb, hit a moon rocket last night.

It was it was going viral on Twitter. So he's getting can't wait because I need him badly, you know, I think May first. We probably get Lindor by May first, maybe even a little bit before that, and you know, once that happens, don't look now, the Indians, here's a good question for you. Who do I drop when Lindoor comes back? Kettle Mate, Tim Beckham, mc, Garrett Hampson and you all play a similar position. But Beckham is the only one that placed third. He's my starting third baseman. Yeah,

but the rest of my offense is absolutely stacked. So how about you trade one one of these other guys for a third baseman? Yeah? I might trade like a Tommy fam My outfield school. I have to. He's the one I have, Bryce Happer, Tommy Fami, Eloy Jimenez Um it's a keeper league, keeper league, and I keep him in the twenty first round. Last Yeah, I got Byron Buckston and I got Daviddal. So I five outfields, I

can only start three. I think returns well in course, field him out as soon as he comes back and he gets hot again. Man, we both him. I think fans value is so high right now because he's doing great right now. Points he's average. You know he's gonna do that all the year. He probably told you he was gonna happen. I drafted him because I know you sold me on Frank and he sold me on him. But like I want to sound because I know that I'm not gonna get as much value out of Doll

right now as I will Tommy Fam. I could get someone big right now, like a picture. I agree, but you have to you have time until Francisco Lindoor returns. So I'm thinking about it. What I'm saying, Yeah, David Doll should be back either tomorrow or over the weekend, and they have all these games coming up in Coors Field where I think he can get hot, and if that happens, I would rather treade him away than Tommy Fam. Okay, wait, we'll see. Dodgers last night defeated the Red six to one.

Can to my Ada six and two thirds, one run, walk three. She got a five allowed four hits could start from my Ada. Not so much with Tyler Molly six things, eleven hits, didn't walk anybody a four and runs three striker is not a great star by Molly. Tough offense um not a very good start. John Peterson homer again for the Dodgers. He's eighth of the year three a D O B P. Right now, for Jock Peterson,

this is what he does. This is what he does, and well, he's got to be owned in daily lineup leagues where you know you could set your lineup every day. You know he's not gonna play against left handed pitching.

But he's a three true malcome guy. And if you're playing O B P or if you're playing points leagues, I know normally you want volvolume in points leagues, but with Jock, I think he's gonna be He's gonna be so good when he's in the lineup that he almost kind of defies that you think for the points league because he walks a lot and either walking or hitting

homers and that's really good for points leagues. I'm just worried about the slumps with him in points league where you're gonna gotta carry it in your lineup, and I don't want him in for a week where if he gets into a slump, he's giving you close to nothing. Maybe the walks that's about it, but most he's you know, you're last outfielder, maybe your utility pre You're not really

relying on him for much. You getting draft him as one of your top outfielders, so it's kind of whatever he gives you was just a cherry on top because you probably just picked him up right. We mentioned for Dua before he went three or four last night with three RB I. He's back in the lineup today. As Frank and I mentioned, he's awesome. He's awesome. He's awesome. This guy play every day. Man, are we getting there? Greg?

Are we like we getting to the point where you know, if they have six games, he plays four out of the week. I think I must say yes, but I can't. I can't definitively say yes. A lot of pieces here, it's hard parts, and you know the Dodgers, they like to do Dodger things where you know, they'll they'll give

everyone a day off months. He looked a day off here and there, and Justin Turner now a little bit nicked up, and you know it's give Key here nan Is a day off here and there, and they play then when when he's hitting this well, you know, what did you think of the Reds line up last night? Joey Votto leaning off for the first time in years, uh, followed by a Nyo Suarez, Jesse Winker and then and

then on down the rest of yesterday. Frank, I think it has a lot to do with what we mentioned when we were talking about Jesse Winker last week, and what the what the Reds broadcast told me and made me aware of, is that Jesse Winker in his career has done much better with runners on base than when he's leading off endings or leading off a game. So maybe, uh, someone tip David Bell off to that, and they're trying

to put him in the best position to succeed. And you know, Joey Votto's o BP is gonna be amazing, It's gonna be over four hundred. But you know, I don't own any shares of Joey Votto. Greg and I think most people are at least slightly concerned about him to start the year. Yeah, because now we have you know, this is a two years in a row n thirty five. Ops, he's not hitting for power? Is this what he's reduced to?

Just OVP leadoff hitter? I mean he's gotten older, yes, shares because to me he was he was a really hard guy to figure out. That's what we said at age. Chelling up to him rely could be. He's in his inti late thirties at this point, so I think the power is definitely down but for Attom, but the twelve homers right the power, and I think that's gonna be

a permanent thing for the most part. I don't think you'll have a seat close to maybe twenty, but I think most that's what most people wanted out of him. They wanted a good batting average and close to home runs at least. I think you're gonna see more like twenty and then. But the batting average right now is too low. That's obviously gonna gonna correct itself. I'm actually trying to look for his babbit right now. Want to see what what we're looking like with balls and play

right now, Greg for Jesse Winker. I just pulled this up real quick. In his career played appearances with runners in scoring position. He's sitting three thirty with Night with a N wants me in the middle of the order. So that's I think that's what they're looking at regarding Jesse Winker right here. And I think it makes sense. I can't knock it. If I'm a Joey Vado owner. I probably don't love this though, because it's Princess, you're RBI. It's good for your run scored, yeah, but it'll help

his run scored. Think overall, man, I'm just kind of worried. That makes sense. Oh, I thought it was the end of the show already. We gotta talk about We'll talk about you on Moncada when we get back. We said, you know, Christian yelloh man, what are we gonna say? He's really good. He's just something he's gonna hit FO told you that yesterday, Christian Yellow send them in, see you next and his sports for radio. the program Ventra Standful, I'll hang out. I love when you see catchers give signs and I have to go through five of them because the picture hates him all. It's great. I love it, you don't think sometimes they just do that too, kind of mix up the hitter, keep them off balanced if they're take a long time, like I don't know what pitch is gonna come. Well, he saw you just saw it happen fast fall, not change up. Let me throw a yeah, a terrible pitch up.

It was awful. It was awful, all right. You. I wanted to talk about Christian Yella, so we're gonna do that next before we get into what Eloy did, because he's been ridiculous all season long as Christian yellings, and they continued last night with his ninth home run of the season, his eighth home run this season against the St. Louis Cardinals. It's all changed, to believe, it's it's it's all changed, man. He's just unfreaking believable. Has Monty Grandalla

has also been unbelievable. He'd his fifth home run of this season, Grandella betting over four d. I know we had high expectations for him and he's a streaky player, but Frank, has Monty Grandalla is also a fantastic start this season. Yeah, and this is partially what we expected with the move to Milwaukee, hitting in Miller Park. He takes the one year deal, betting on himself and hopefully they can make something happen long term here because having

another catcher be this good for fantasy purposes. It's just awesome. I would say, as of right now, and I don't think this is just an overreaction. I think he's the third best catcher in fantasy obviously, when Sanchez returns and real Muto has been great too, I think he's the third best catcher. He might have even elevated himself into the same category as those guys as being the top tier elite has money ground dollar has been awesome, betting

over four hundred. He's got nine o p s, five homers. As you mentioned, he's got ten RBIs already as a catcher. He's didn't man what this So I say he has ten RBIs. That sounds good, right? How many RBIs do you think Christian Yellows has one? Well, you know he has nine at least nine nine home runs. Nine home runs, so he's got way more than I think. Math is

his strong suit. So eighteen twenty five Ribbies, he overtook Domingo Santana for the league lead last night, King, if you want to hear more about Christian Yells, listen to you yesterday though probably already did. Was like a whole second. Again, that was a whole segment, yell Travis Shaw finally got two hits he with two for four in the middle of the orders how to hit Frank, So that was helpful. But by the way, I rather have Grendel than than

than Sanchez. By the way, I like Sanchez is starting to annoy the hell out of me. But he's a mess. He gets hurt all the time. He does dumb things, Like I feel like he gets picked off at second basis for fantasy because of his bad fundamentals. It's gonna get him, you know, out of the lineup. Sometimes he's gonna have to start d h and, which is good for him in the future, but as a fantasy player, But like, I feel like it's gonna hurt him in

the interim. Like he's already here, you know what I mean, He's already here. Rather Grundel, He's more than He's more consistent, you know what I mean. He's on the field, He's there. I can't I can't knock you for it. I mean me, personally, I would still take Sanchez over him. The upside is crazy. Yeah, it's probably close. It's probably close. I can't knock you for it. Carand me personally, I would take Sanchez owns are Grindel grande for me? Wow. For me, I'm with

you on the other side. Start with Jack Flaherty, who were just talking about during the break, was disaster for us and his loud nine hits, five runs, walked, one, struck out four and two and two thirds his worst start of the season. Yeah, his two worst starts of the season have coming against Milwaukee, and he had two other starts where he was quite fine. Greg. So again, this is what I'm talking about. When it comes to streaming pitchers. You don't you're not streaming them against Milwaukee.

But for most people, Jack Flaherty is one of their top three starting pitchers. So you just figure I could leave him in the lineup most of the time. And I think most of the time you're right. But against Milwaukee, I hope this is the last time he sees them this year, and maybe we'll get one other time against Milwaukee. But two starts against the Brewers, Greg, he's been terrible, and uh, you know the other two starts he's been fined, and one of those starts was against the Dodgers too.

I will say this in the ending where it all kind of blew up for him, I believe it was the third ending, Yes, it was Um, he could have been out of the ending. He hit a Ryan Braun hit a ground ball to Matt Carpentry third base, which he's just completely like fumbled over. It might have hit the bag, but that kept the ending going. And then

what happens. He has Monty Grandal hits the two run homer, Travis Shaw hits a single, He's a tacular hits a single, Orlando Arcia walks, and in Brandon Woodruff it's a basis clearing, uh not basic clear, two run double down the line the picture against Jack Flaherty, So he could have got out of the ending, and who knows how what what would have happened in the start overall, But thanks Matt

Carpentter for you need as much help as you can get. Man, when you're going against the Brewers, you can't make mistakes like that. You can't give them extra outs because almost every time it's gonna come back to to blow up in your face. Yeah, I'm just a little worried about Flaherty.

I mean I don't I have I think I have maybe one place, maybe not at all, but um, I just think that like you paid a lot for him, and you're expecting like a really big breakout yea here, and it's a little worrisome to se him get shelled that bad, you know, just given you zero, it's been two bad starts against the Brewers. The other thing when he he performed all against the Daughters. Dodgers are really good.

Yeah no, but I'm saying two out of four still in general, you know what I mean, Maybe just don't play Milwaukee. He's probably gonna have two, maybe two more starts against the play him ninteen times at least played him six already or or whatever. Right, Greg, what else is new? Michael Franco up with the bases loaded. All this guy does come up with men on basse joke as Zach Wheeler obviously walked losing a Battle of season Hernandez, which is yeah, which you know doesn't surprise anyone. This

was my concern with Wheeler. Today's everyone in the Phillies takes bitches and they walk a lot. And in the Wheeler in the battle yesterday against the Lopez of Lopez v. Lopez right now, the Lopez goes six in days of one on ball he struck out five. He walked to your boy, Lopez strug out ten on his name is not Javier Lord. Keep trying your your Jay names. Lope is a former reliever on the Giants. You're right, okay,

y Lopez. Ten strike ats, two walks. He allowed of four runs on eight hits, but those ten strikeats obviously very very nice. Yonder Lanzis goes four for four with his third home run of the season, which is awesome, your boy, you want him. Moncada goes deep not once, but twice, while Tim Anderson, your other guys, that was six basically here Chris, Timmy um Mankada, two guys I love on the White Sex, is why I kind of

like like the like White Sox a little bit. These guys h and they're doing what I what I hope they do, so I just hope they keep it up. Tim and this is obviously hitting for way too high average right now to keep that up. But I think he's gonna be a top ten shortstop in Fantasy. I think he's gonna keep up a good pace the whole year. Not this hot though, obviously power and setting over with ops over a thousand. I remember the conversation we had

regarding Tim Anderson. You kind of talked me into him and then I moved him up in my rankings. There was a lot of people bullish on him heading into draft season. He went last year. It seems like he's just getting better every single year. That is Tim Anderson, and he's great defensively. Yes, and I was watching the both of these pictures in this game because I had a few shares of Jorge Lopez. I think I think he's got some talent. Man. He's got a lot of

movement on his pitches. He's got a big twelve to six curveball that he throws. He struggled with the home runs last night. He gave up two to Yoan Macat and we'll talk about that um And obviously Yonder Alonzo performed well against him, but he still had ten strikeouts. The swinging strikes were there. He throws a power slider too, the fastball three, but he has a big hook. I'm intrigued by Jorge Lopez man. He has a lot of movement on his pitches, and I think he has some

strike out upside that we saw in the start. Here on the other side, Ronaldo Lopez desperately needed to start. I mean, even going six innings one run ball, his ear a still sits at eight point eight four, so he's just been a disaster to start the season. He throws really hard, but it doesn't get a lot of swings, and mrs usually a little bit predictable and struggles with command of time too. So I don't have any shares of Ronaldo Lopez. I had him last year, uh and

he and he kind of burnt me. Uh. There's always a chance he gets better because he's still young, but he just hasn't showed me enough. Now, big big combo here, wait before you do it, I gotta give it up. That to Mandason went over four and still I think he was betting over five right now, Keep him while he's hot, sell high. Maybe because he ain't doing this good the whole season. Say that my own guys, you're one moncada. It all comes down to this. You know

what's funny, I only have him in one place. This is like s everybody was so hot, like I feel an off pit league blew. It was on top of him early draft, remember that, real early after. I wasn't expecting these things, so I kind of got blindsided with that. I wanted him everywhere to adding three thirty three ops over a thousand to home runs last night, his fourth and his fifth. He's betting second, just ahead of Jose Bray, you and Yonda Alonso. And to me, the biggest takeaway

regarding you on Kada is the strikeouts. And this is exactly what I said about him coming into the year. If he can cut down on the strikeouts, and I was modest, I said, Look, if he can cut down four or five on the strikeout right, if he can lower the strikeout right from thirty three percent last year too, if he's then he'll be able to hit to fifty home runs. That's what I said about him. But now he's lowered the cave rate, small sample, only sixteen games.

He's got seventy plate appearances. Strikeout right, he's down almost from last year, and the results are there. Look, he always hits the ball hard. He hits the ball in the air. You look at him, he's like a dude tank. That's a good way to describe him. He's got power forcent hard hit right to start the year. I think he's legit. I think he's legit. You know, I was one year early on new Alan Coat and it sucks because I had a few shares last year and he

let me down big time. But he's already got five home runs. He hit seventeen all of last year, so you know, And and the fan graph projections have him at a two forty average and runs the rest of the way. That means he's gonnahity hommers. That's what they're expecting for him to give you twenty plus homers. I think the batting average might even be able to be a little bit better. If he can maintain a strikeout like this, you might be able to hit you know,

to two sixties something like that and that range. So I'm glad you're on board. Baby. He's doing the exactly what you needed to see from him, you know, lowering the strikeout rate. He's not walking as much this year. He's being a little bit more aggressive in terms of swinging, but he's making more contact. So if he was being more aggressive, walking less but also striking out the same

amount more, I'd be really worried. But he was walking less and he's making more contact, So it seems like he's taking a more aggressive approach, but he's also making more contact at the pitches that he's swinging at. He's not you know, just Uh, he's not just the true three true ockcom guy that he was like last year, right, I think it was a software something like like we said, you know, like I think he's just had a bad year. Was his software year. He's just you know, it kind

of crumbled on him. I think now the swing is violent, man, He's got a violent swing minds me of like a Gary Sheffield swing. Just so hard he swings. Uh, so you're gonna get a tonny. I think he's gonna break dirty homeless. To be honest, I think he'll break it. You might be able to. I mean, if this is right, now he's got he's already got five homers. This this could be. And this is what I said last year.

Remember Florio and myself got into a scream match on the show last year and I was yelling at him, saying, Joan Moncatta is a league winner. He's a league winner. He's a guy that can be upside right and hit you know, runs and steal your twenty bases. He has that upside. He still does. Clearly it didn't come to fruition last year. Say I was wrong. He was not

a league winner last year. But and he's still be a league winner in general, I think he answers yes, obviously, sometimes you can write him off yet and he's still so young, right, you gotta sometimes you can give guys a chance a little especially top prospects seemed to get written off more sooner than other prospects, right A lot of people did it with bucks into and for the Power right away. But he's performing well, he's got stole basis.

He's got you know, like three or four I think, um, So, you know, sometimes you gotta be a little bit more patient with these with these top prospects, I know, if they let you down and you gotta be fantasy one year, don't give up on them right away. I mean, look at Hunter Dozer right now. This guy is a prospect years ago. Right now he's starting to get it right,

you know. I mean, he wasn't a top prospect and that's why he's coming to light a little more than other guys, because we forgot about him as a prospect. And you know, he maybe he's he's changed everything and he found what he needed to do, the mechanics need to do to get it right and be a productive fantasy option. And Dozer goes over three last night, but he's he was batting third in the lineup. Last night

they had wit mary Field. They gave Monesty the day off, but they had wit mary Field leading off, and then they had Alex Gordon batting second. So you know, on most days when when Monesty's in there and so is what Maryfield, Alex Gordon was still bad third. But if Hunter Doser is gonna beat fourth or fifth, a lot of those guys are gonna get on base ahead of him. So, guys, you know, that's part of the reason why I said

I liked Alex Gordon. I don't love him, but the guys that are getting on in front of him, he's gonna have our RBI opportunities and and they're really fast, so all you have to do is hit a single there is he's got scoring yea true quickly. We have four minutes remainings. We're gonna jump around and hit on some things. Guys, just chiming, just chime in if you're interested. What is it Kantana against the Marlins. Need a good start parts it's the Marlins. He gave it to a

seven innings shut out. Ball didn't walk anybody, struck out seven while allowing six hits. On the other side, Pablo Lopez five innings, five hits, two runs, he strick out six Rankie, Yeah, I thought it was a nice bounce back performance for Pablo Lope because it wasn't spectacular, but five innings against a strong lineup only turned runs over a strike up or ending. I thought that was what you need to see from Pablo Lopez. I said last week I wouldn't drop him, and I'm sticking with that. Um,

I want Pablo Lopez on my teams. Katana. This is now back to back starts with seven shutout endings, last time against the Pirates, now against the Marlins, and he do it against tougher competition. We're gonna find out soon. H it was it was venture night because he's sair bias homeward as well. Think I wouldn't I wouldn't sell high Jose Kanana because I liked him coming into the season. But if again, this is kind of similar to glass

now situation. If you just kind of fell into Jose Kantana on your team, you didn't really love him, and he has these two starts back to back, and you are probably selling it maybe right here in that camp, but me personally, I like Jose Cantana. I don't own him anywhere, but I would. Um Javier Bayaz three for four you two runs scored, and listen, I mean, he's

not gonna walk right. We know that he's just gonna hit and he's gonna have his oe for days because you know, he swings and misses a lot, strikes out a lot, but he's so powerful and talented with the speed and everything he's he's going to give you production, even though it might be a little consistent in the day to day basis, you know what I mean. For the braves who fell with the d Backs nine to six. Max Free continued his strong start with six innings of

seven hit, ball, two runs, one walk. He should got threes. Earrais a microscopic zero point night to the story here for Atlanta's aj Minter gets rocked in the ninth, blowing the save um allowed. It's a tie game. I'm sorry, blows the him still uh six to six comes in and gets gets lit up, while Greg Holland walked about of a trickout two for his third seed of the year. Robbie Robbie rays four walks, four ks standard Robbie Ray

gives up a home run. Actually he wasn't standing. He didn't get the strikeouts really yesterday only four strikeouts very quietly greg Max Free doing his best Tyler glass Now impression. Absolutely, everyone's talking about Tyler Glasgow, but they're not talking about Max Freed the same way. So he's another guy that normally has struggled with walks. He's had very good control

to start the season. The strikeouts haven't necessarily been there, but it's just been quality started after quality started for Max Freed. Christian Walker once again. It's his fifth homer of the year. Many four still frank walkers from him and Ronald Cooney on the other side. Six Just stay hot, man, stay hot. Two more hits, home run saving his best Adrian Beltrey impression goes down to one knee last night. That was I don't know how he paid that pitch out.

It was like a sinker bowl going well. It was super scooped. It just like upper cutting on. It was crazy. That's the power. He's got, real power. Man. For the last week he was eating one nineties and I was eating three twentie and he's got six home runs. If you you guys all drift in the first round. We all drift in first round. Here, we bought it and it's right because he's worth it. For the Blue Jays, Aaron Sanchez went six innings on four hits, four runs,

four walks, struck out five. The big blow against Aaron Sanchez came on on Eddie Rosario, three runs shot in the six which cost him the quality start, and then he pits a little bit better than the line showed. Obviously, don't like the walks though. Yeah, this has always kind of been the bugaboo for Aaron Sanchez is he doesn't

get enough strikeouts to mitigate the walks. I obviously was a big fan of Aaron Sanches coming in to this season, and you know, if he gets through that ending on skinny, then we're talking about what is the wonder and run rather than than the four he gives up the three run homer to Eddie Rosario. I still think there's a lot here to like with Aaron. Chances the velocity up. He's just gonna stay healthy because a ton of groundballs.

I like him. I like him to a lot more baseball to come him today than a ton of games on the slate. And we can't wait to break it down with you tomorrow, all with our guys from inside injuries but Chris Ventcher and Frank Standfell.
