listening to the Fantasy Sports Radio Network. Did we just become best friends? Young? Fantasy best friends forever? Our number two Fantasy best friends forever Fantasy Sports Radio Network, that is Frank Staffeld. I am Greg Sausman joined today as we are every single day for our number two. But the Closer, what's up, guys? How you doing? It's your boy Chris Venture the Closer here and uh, I'm ready for week three of baseball. Week three or that's what
I'm trying to three and a half three? Week three? What did you? What do you think of Thrones? Last night? I was advertising it as week four on my Thrones, so I thought it was good, but like, um, I feel like they could do more, you know what I mean there's only six episodes and they're an hour long. I thought they were gonna be an hour and a half long each one. The first two are last night's was fifty three, next week is fifty eight, and then each one after that is at least eighty minutes long.
So the final four, well, one of them might be like seventy eight, Like one of them is eighty one of them seventy eight. One of them is closer to ninety minutes. But the final four are definitely right around a hundred and twenty minutes or an hour and twenty minutes rather Yeah, because you know, I'm saying someone said I forgot who it was, Um might have been on our show. I was watching that. Most of the season is like war last night. It wasn't last night, zero war,
zero war last night. I'm thinking episode two will be like the same. Maybe it'll start at the end, probably not like I'm saying, it won't be a war. Yeah, I don't know, they got it. I agree with you, though, there's so there's so so much going to in this final season that they got to start to pick it up a little bit and then they will. I agree with Greg that this was mostly a set up episode. I love the line from from Brand at the end, I'm waiting for an old friend. You're like, oh, well,
is he talking about Sam? You know Sam shows up and he wasn't. No, he's waiting for his I wasn't actually shoot you know why. I don't know why. It didn't hit me exactly he was waiting for immediately. It didn't hit me either right away. But like you knew Jamie was going there. He just I forgot what well, because that was always solve in the entire episode. It's
not like we saw him traveling well. He saw in the in the final, in the in the Coming Attractions, yeah, last season, previously, the previously on as well, and he's gonna go to trial. It looks like, well, I mean they're not. He's not just walking a winner fell and the like, hey everybody are you here? They're not gonna be like actually, because he like killed the Narist Gargarian's father, right, it was crazy and Tyrian's gonna back him up on that one and say that he was crazy and he
saved a ton of people's lives because of that. You know, it's Brianno's gonna speak up for Yeah, It's very interesting back and forth here because who don't like him, but there's a lot of people who will also defend him that and he's just gonna be like he listen, He'll probably just be like, listen, you can kill the afterwards. Weut here to fight. I'm here to help your side. Yeah, exactly. He'll end up getting through the trial obviously, of course,
and then he'll wonder he'll kill him. I wonder if he'll even die. He's my first pick, so he'd better die. Why do you think he'll die? He's gonna die. Why he's there's no reason to live. I'm sure he does. Why. It's gonna be very emotion I was gonna say he's probably the best fighter on the planet, but he's not anymore with his golden hand. Um, very bad. What he
like mediocre? Now, yeah, you know what it's You know, it's really pumps about last night, by the way, he's like that, after that, after that scene with Cerstial, but good, after that scene with Cercy, like, now I know Bron's gonna die. So that was good. That was helpful, and you know, like she sent him off to go kill now I know he's gonna die. He might not even do it. He might not decide to go kill them. Well he'll he'll die in the matter. He's not gonna
just like go off behavy. You have him right now. Oh nice that we did a pool last night in my house. Nice where there was like twenty names. You have to choose whether or not they by the end of the season. Are they alive, are they dead? Or do they turn into a white walker. I had two picks to turn into a white walker. Um. I felt really good about it last night. I thought it was gonna happen right then and there. I had tormented turning into a white walker. White walker. Yeah, but the blue
h was funny. I thought this afterwards, and it doesn't really make a lot of sense, But I chose the mountains somehow toose guys that are more in the north, like gray Worm, Like maybe there's a chance he turns. But I just felt like if the night King ends up killing people in King's Landing, if he gets that far, he might be like, oh, I see this big guy, let me turn him into a white walker. Kind of That's why I'd be sick. He's calling white worm white worm.
Really no worm. If you know what I'm saying, wow, atom great worms. Great worm has a girlfriend. Can't do anything about it. Yeah, they just to cuddle with each other. It's a good time for her. I guess not so much for him. It would be you know, he's like, I don't know. They rubbed each other, that's what they do. Yeah. The conversation, the conversations in Various and Interior was nice. That was fun. Yeah, that was great. That was cool. And Dovos getting in the mix. That was seaworth in
the mix. Yeah. I like that everybody's getting together. Man like. He always has the funniest moments of Tyrian Wore always had the funniest moments man like. The blue eyes thing was great. I've always had blue eyes. That was great last season. Any dialogue that he has with the Stone was just gold. It's gold, it is. That's awesome. And that he loves Brianne. He does love Brianne months. Let's look at your boy. Let's start there, Chris. Are we talking about your boy? Your boy? I have a lot
of boys. Your boy from yesterday by the main boy. This is the guy, the ripping, ripping. I'm from from the Mound, Chris Oh from the Mound, Okay, let's go. I got you ready now, yeah, I'm ready, all right. Harmon Marquez was ridiculous, would have been perfect for a while if it wasn't for a hit batter had a no hitter for a while. But he was amazing facing the Giants, which is again what enjoy what I have? It is Harmon Marquez. And I ask you, Chris, because
you're the Marquees guy, the perfect sell high candidate. Right now, that's a good question. Um, I don't know if i'd sell him. Oh, it depends on what I would get, right so you know, if I'm getting like a possibly elite pitcher, yes, but otherwise no, I think he's somewhat for real. You know, obviously it's against the Giants, he's gonna have his downs, but I think for the most part, you're gonna get a good start out of him, Like, you know, three out of four games, you'll get a
good start. I think obviously, like he's someone for real. We've seen it last year. We've seen enough like what we're seeing is is true. But Franky, given the three of the store four stars, four stars, excuse me, or against the Giants, given he plays a course field for the majority of his games. Theoretically, isn't this the perfect opportunity you can get for her mom Marquez? Yeah, definitely, But I feel like a lot of people are gonna be onto it, like they're gonna know what you're trying
to do. Obviously, look we're not hiding it. Nine shutout, any sisterday he goes to complete game, shutout, one hit you mentioned it hit better, nine strikeouts. He was awesome. The underlying numbers also really really good for her Man Marquees and I've been very critical of him, and I'm going to continue to be critical of him. And it's not because of him, it's because of where he pitches in Coors Field in Colorado. Three out of four of it starts have been on the road. He's had some
good matchups already. He faced the Giants, he faced Tampa Bay, which was okay, but the swinging strike Cree is abovely gaverage first pitch strike percentage. I love that he's getting people to chase pitches out of his strike zone thirty three point seven percent at a time. That's up three percent from last year. There's a lot to like. I think he's probably closer to his peripheral numbers, Greg the fit has met three point six three the x fit
hast point four or nine. But if you can get a three six, three five or three six e r a out of her man marquees for from where he was going as your you know your sp three strike out her ending picture like that with you know a decent wit, maybe you know one point to something a little bit lower than that. I think you would take that, you would take the problem is you're gonna take a lot of good with a lot of bad. Be hard to trust him in Colorado, but yesterday he dominates the giants.
That game was in San Francisco. I have a question. Okay, all we overraging is Colorado think because let's think about the past, right, No Colorado before the fet think about this, Okay, her mama has Kyle Freeland and John Gray, especially Marks and Freeland haven't been there very long before that, before these three guys came. Who were there pictures? Aaron Cook, uh, Mike Hampton. These are the best pictures ever first times? Yeah he did that? Was it because he was a
big time K picture at the time. I think you've gotta be a K picture to survive there or a groundball pictures like Aaron Cook. Yeah, I love how you do. And Aaron Cook is Aaron Cook was actually a good one of the best pictures Colorado in the past before this era, was one of their best pictures in the past, like fifteen years. Think about it. Colorado never has good pictures never. I think maybe then, But I think they
have good pictures because it's a possible pitch there. I think it's more that the product of the talent that's come through there hasn't been great, and now it's better. Looks awful. He's had a couple of decent years talking about but I understand he was their ace, like three marcz has he has eight case per nine so far this year. He's got near groundball rate. So I agree with you on that. But the one start that he
pitched in corps Field, you didn't do well. So it's and there's people there's people on Twitter doing Victory's labs. Oh you know, look, look how good her Marquez is. Of course they are like, okay, was there a chance to start have been on the road, Like, let's be serious with ourselves here, guys and giants, would you trade here we go right now? Would you trade her mom Marquez for Zach Wheeler, I would. Well, you know, I'm very high on Zach. I'm looking at my starting pitcher
rankings coming into the year I had him. I had Wheeler sp four teams. I understand it means nothing to me now. But he pitched really well that last which was important, Okay, I was which really well? Which five walked a bunch of guys who they playing in UM Bravos. Yeah, so you know, good, pretty line up. Yeah, he's fine. I'll tell you right now. I worry about him this week too, And I spoke to this, I spoke to Greg about this downstairs. He's going up against the Phillies
in Philadelphia. There are a few spots that to me are almost near you have to bench this guy, and in Corps and in Philadelphia I think are pretty much too as as close to UM must bench as possible. And he's been walking a lot of guys, and Phillies have a ton of guys who love to walk to and are very patient. So I will say that I would be Zach Wheeler this week overall. If I could trade Marquez for Wheeler, I would Fast forward. Three days later, he started Zach Wheeler. I ben worry about it, like
I did it very hesitantly. Yeah, I mean, well, if you obviously don't have a much better option or two start guy. Now, I got a lot of two star guys this week. That's why I'm benching him. But um, I don't know. I don't know if I do that trade. The thing I think is gonna keep Marquez relevant no matter what is the case, He's always gonna have I think hi k rate. So I think that's just gonna keep him, you know, as a guy that gets you a lot of points, especially in points leagues. You know,
points leagues that means a lot. Pitching deep into games means a lot. So I don't know. I don't know if I trade him for a Wheeler. I'm on the fence about that. That's a a good question. So I would say, I don't know right now. But I mean he is definitely a great sell high guy. I mean, let's let's run down the list a little bit more here, Greedy, would you do it for Jack Flaherty? Absolutely? I do. I want Jack Flaherty. I want I want the Jack
Flaherty side. Venture. Yeah, maybe I'd be on the Flaherty side for that. What about Jamison Tyowne. He hasn't been dominant by any means to start to you, I don't know I would I would rather have I have Tywne. I agree pitching in Pittsburgh I looked at and A Central is no cake walk, but they're safe and argue that pitching in Pittsburgh is much better than course. I think you're right. I think like Tyrone and Um and Flaherty are safer being more consistent, Like Marquez, Mike is
gonna get shelled once in a while. It's gonna happen in Colorado. Strossburg, Marquez or Strossberg. I think I think i'd still I would trade him for for Strousberg. I think I would take Strousberg, Marqueza, Strassburg. That's very close for me, very close for me, Eleen Mark Kez. Really that's very close. Yeah, I agree with you that it is very very close. I just there's injury concerned obviously with Strossberg. Yeah, it is close. I think I'm with you, though,
I think I would take Marquez too. There's gonna be a lot of good from mar kids is gonna be a lot of bad. M Yeah, Like that's the range that we're in, so he's he's the top twenty five starting picture Greg basically like the way we're talking about him, he which I think makes sense. Right, Yeah, I mean that's you know again, that's right around where I had him rank coming year. I had him twenty second starting pitcher.
And there's a lot of players who were drafted in that range who are not performing very well to start the year. Miles Mikoloss has not been great. Tanaka was great until yesterday kind of got killed by a wall scraping Grand Slam, which was very annoying. It very bad. Luis Castieler, I'd rather have cast you obviously than than Marquez. But I see some parallels there, and you know what, there's a lot of pigeon that hasn't been good. Greg. How about this? How about Mustax? More amazing? I'd rather
have Marquez. Yeah, like I think there's a little bit more upside. Yeah, Muscrop has been awesome, has been fantastic. Paxston has been real bad. Oh my god, it's been so awful. So that's a guy, would you I would rather have Marks? Yeah? At this point? Is that crazy? It's a little reaction, very much reaction at but I mean what I would rather have. What has Paxston really proven so besides what he did last year, you know what the year before that it was really good too.
I mean we have a sample now of the past two or three years of Paxson of him being an elite strikeout picture strikeout talking like eleven twelve case per nine. That's even better than Marquees, a lot better than Markets. Markets is still the strikeout stuff there with the strikeouts. Yeah, he is, But I mean as good as he is, Paxson is better. Paxson is better. So but I would think Marks goes deeper into games. He had a tough
start against the Astros. The Astros are you know, gonna be a tough start for everyone, And they were talking about him yesterday on the Yankees broadcast that he was tipping pitches in his last started. That's something that he's working on to to try and remedy that. So I think better days are coming for Paxson. Yeah. I know a lot of people weren't on packs and coming into the year because they're worried about the home runs in
in Yankee Stadium. But you worry mostly about lefties, lefty batters and Yankee Stadium and the fact that he's a lefty pitcher. Obviously, you know, mitigates that somewhat, so I would I would still take Packson. I don't want to react too much. M hm okay, I would take markets. That's just don't take Marques too. We're gonna be a reaction. He's faced the Giants three times. I'm the guy want I'm the guy you want right now some of my response, I'm greg like I did. He faced the Giant tree times.
But also, don's gonna make a trade. You're gonna trade for his I still want right, let's see that right now. We've got to do it over the week. What we gotta do it now? All right? Who Dotta, I'll give you Pavetta start you start picture this week. You want him? Know, you gotta get him him? Okay, I have to look things up over real quick. I mean I don't even know who's on your team again. Yeah, we tried to
do this the other day. I remember frank remember Marco Gonzalez, Frankie Mantas, Charlie Morton, Mingo Harman, Steven Matt Jameson tyone. We we just oh no, that was I was not saying you're not getting jameson Tywne for Provetta. I'll tell you that right now. About Carrasco, he's been craped to start the year. I know you're not gonna do it
for Betta, but he's just been terrible. It starts. I think I should I was gonna do it for two out of three, right of Mats Marco, Frankie Mantas right, Domingo Harman was in that mix too, right right, right, right right right? Okay? Is that what's still happening? And uh and he wanted to ask the deal from you? Yeah, I can't, said, as long as he Frankie catch you get Frankie. Yeah, that's fine. Also make the chair with you, so you give him a studio and pavetta and you
give him from belly. I'm starting Pitchers correct to the whole time, out of Matt Marco, mont scene, Paveta not to me. You can pick the two. How's that leave two? All right? I'll think about it. It's fair two starting Pitchers is still valuable. You can pick the two that you want, Okay, I start trying to make it well. Discuss it's fairy smealing and dealing were not to get rid of. It's fun. It's fun. I'm reaction reaction Ray.

six three one we get Fantasy Update. He said, I've been beating this drum forever about the home plate umpire. I think they are a little absolutely turned what they you know, the K zone Quest, they only shows it when you see it on TV. I havena say that's not perfect. I get that, But what I like about the CA zone in Quest, at least the strikes on
would be the same for everybody. They'd be no more of this bull crap of one player or one pitch or having a different strikes on them the next you know, some players the umpires giving the benefit of the doubt to Saturday and Sunday eleven A. M. E. Stern on the Fantasy Sports Network in Popular podcast Providers, we are back on the Fantasy Best Friends Forever. On the Fantasy Sports Ringing Network, Frank Chris Greg going over some of
the big performances from this weekend. We hit on a lot on Harmon Marquez right there, but I wanted to get in on some of these other pictures from yesterday, in particular my guy Vinnie V. So I started, obviously zach eflan on Saturday, which is disaster and nervous. Any nerves now about zach eflon Za, brother? I know, No, there's still start to like and even even after the start, I mean, the strike out rate is has been massive, the swinging strike rate. Um, he we knew he wasn't
gonna be a sub two week again. Obviously, it's surprises that happened against the Marlins, especially the fact that you know he pitches in the NLE, so he's gonna have some tougher matchups to come. Obviously going up against the Nationals, who he did have a nice start against to start the year, and against the Mets. You know that's not an easy line up to face. So, um, he's a back end of your rotation. Guy. You stream him, Yeah, I think most of the time you'll be You'll be
streaming Flynn. No, I'm not. I'm not just jumping ship. Yeah. I wouldn't drop him, but his teammate the day after Vinny Alasquez twelve. It's pretty well face the Marlins in Miami, I get it. The thing that's actually kind of concerning me about Alasquez, Yeah, isn't checking anybody out anymore? Four strikeouts yesterday. You're used to when the Alaska's goes he tries to double the strikeout. This season has been the case. He's trying to stay longer in the game, trying to
pitch the contact a little bit more. I don't know if I like that, Chris, Yeah, I don't know if I do either. I don't know if I'm looking for Case or Vinnie. And yeah, that's what you want fromm right. But also when he came people, he also he's still walking. He's still walking still. He's not striking him out, he's not checking him out. But he used to walk a lot of people. We really are at it get hit. You know, he was a mess um may. Maybe this is a better way to have him, though I don't
know yet, you know what I mean. Maybe he's a better at Vince Velasqua's. Maybe he's a picture not just a thrower. Well, we're gonna find out. We're gonna find out based on the way he's been pitching. The swinging strike rate has been abysmal, it's under six percent. First pitch strike percentage has been also terrible. Man, Greg, I think there's a lot of smoking mirrors here with with Vince Velaska's and and the fact that he pitches in Citizens Bank and he's always had home run issues as well.
The strand rate is super high. The bat it is super low unless he starts to get swings and misses again, like normally we say, we say this about guys who walk a lot of batters, is that if you have strikeouts at least, it's somewhat cancels out, but you can wiggle your way out of jams. Um, if you strike people out and you're and you're getting guys in bass, but walk guys and you give up home runs, it's
just a recipe for disaster. I think I think we've seen some smoking mirrors here at Yeah, if you want to stream him once in a while when a good start, well you're not holding here. Gonna trust him at home Insitizens Bank against the Mets, oh chance. And I wouldn't hold him in like a weekly league even in the back end. Yeah, there's better options Okay, one of those better options is raw striplings who Stripling who went eight innings,
three k's, allowed one run. We said that Stripling or Arias was the two most likely to bass from the rotation. At some point, we'll see we're all Stripling making his case. Frank, Yeah, I think that's exactly what he wanted to do here, is remind you how good he can be, and that's exactly what he did. The strikeouts weren't there, which I find interesting. The strikeouts are actually down overall this year
for Rass Strippling. The swinging strike rate also down, but getting opposing batters to chase his pitches at a you know, thirty five percent clip the averages around, so that's up for him this season. Still pounding the strike zone, getting ahead early in counts. Uh. But I'm I'm a little surprised that we haven't seen as many strikeouts. It's a lot of groundballs, groundball rate. I think this was a little bit of a reminder to the Dodgers into fantasy owners, like, hey,
I want to stay in the rotation. I guess there's a chance that the Dodgers can go with a six man rotation. Kershaw is returning today, it looks like he will have a two start week unless they do go with that six man rotation. Looks like rich Hill is coming back sooner rather than later. You know, maybe a corresponding move is like a phantom aisle stint for Walker
Bueller for him to get right. But I think as of now, if they had to boot someone from the rotation, I think it would not Stripling m And I think that's what fantasy owners want to hit here obviously too. He hasn't been lights out this year him. You know, he's had a few starts, you know, three couple earned runs for lost stripling, but yesterday was very dominant. He got hit by the Giant to give three ear into Giants St. Louis. He gave a four, but he pitched
well yesterday. Yes, I think that's pretty much what you're getting with strippling all year, you know, up and down. I'm no one really drafted him to be a top guy anyway, Um what was I gonna say? But someone else came to my interests, um verdugo threef was he to four yesterday? Three abbis? What's the what's the situation with this? So the thing with Alex Verdugo and we said this a lot. He's awesome. Yeah, Matt Motique has been on him for years at this point, he's great.
I love alex Ford too. Doesn't play every day exactly. That's very frustrating, very very frustrating. And I think in the daily league maybe you can handle and put him in put him out, But in the weekly league here's nothing you could do and that. But can you have the foresight to see that this guy's gonna start soon? Um, he's got three homers, nine r bis, already, a triple too, doubles, he's been three forty three. Like, this guy is gonna break into the lineup and start every day soon. I
can't see how how he wouldn't. Is there somebody that we could just check out the outfield right now? Dodges camp. My problem with Verdugo is if the Dodgers trusted him and wanted him to be an everyday player, they wouldn't have signed Aj Pollock. Why did they sign Aj Pollock? And he's a you know, thirty plus year old outfielder who has been injury prone. If there was ever a time to hand it over to Alex Rodouga and say, hey,
we want you to play every single day. We trust you it would have been now and this off season. But they go and sign a guy like Pollock. Now that's also a double edged sword because like is very injury prone, as I mentioned. So, I mean, we're one injury away from Alex Verdugo being the top waiver wire ad and the guy that you're spending like, you know, or two hundred dollars of your fab budget on, you know,
if something were to happen to Pollock. But I just don't know how much faith the Dodgers having him yet. And they do this with their with their young players. They take time developing them and it kind of reminds me a lot of Harvey Baias and Joe Madden in the Cubs, and for years we wanted them to just hand it over to Bias play him every single day. Well it happened last year and it paid off major for both the clubs and for fantasy owners. And maybe
that's all a part of the processes. You bring these guys along slowly and they can develop at their own pace and they don't have high expectations, and then eventually one year they're gonna take off. It's probably gonna happen for Verdugo. Is it gonna happen this year? I'm not sure. You know what they should do. They should trade Jack Peterson, and he had chances because the White Sox were very interested in the off season, and again they didn't do it.
They had opportunities to hand this over to Verdugo, and they didn't do it because he because he could replace Peterson easily. Peterson's a lefty who only plays well versu righties. You could just replace him with Verdugo, who's just a better hitter and could face lefties end right. And there's a chance you can see Jock or Verdugo traded at some point this year. Um, given whatever help, the Dodgers could find themselves needing around the deadline. Obviously Dodgers have pieces,
we'll see. I'm surprised they got Machado last year without giving Verdugo up. And a lot of people are excited about using the l d as, but Verdugo has more upside in my opinion, you know, just him versus using me out yet, so I was surprised that they were able. I was not impressed with that Hall last year, that the Orioles got back from a child, I thought if anything was gonna happen, it was gonna be, you know, either Urious or or Verdugo ending up in Baltimore. It
didn't happen. It wouldn't surprise me again if one of those guys get traded. Um. I think Verdugo obviously has a lot more shine. He's a couple of years younger than Jack Peterson. I agree that if he had a chance to play every single day, he was one of the top waiver options. People would blow money on him,
and rightfully so. But it's not happening right now. That's why it's not happening right And that's why if you have some sort of good, like if you could see it coming, grab him as soon as you can, because you'll get him from much cheaper. You know, you'll get
him under the radar before everybody else does. Because once that happens, you know, like you said, he's gonna cost the fortune, and what Modeco was saying to regarding me, right, you try to a couple of weeks earlier rather than a couple of weeks later, and you don't have to spend all this money. So if you play the perfect format to have Verdugo is if you play in a deeper league and you have deeper bench spots and you don't have to rely on starting these guys every day,
and you just want to stash a few guys. I know, it's harder with all the injuries. That's where you want to stash. For Dugo again, he's one injury away to a Pollock or god forbid, Cody Bounder or Jock Peterson. He's one injury away. And uh, this is what we were talking about with Garrett Hampson. Unfortunately Hampson hasn't taken off, but there was multiple injuries that happened, you know, in a week for the Rock. Hampson starting to heat up a little bit, and they half full for him. Listen.
I mean, I know Hampson hasn't had any power, he has had no speed, but he's only walked one time on season. He's hit in five straight games. He's getting there very modest, trying to get that average. Ups. They're both they're they're both glass half full for Garrett Hanson right now. And I get it. You want to be excited about him. And they haven't played a lot of games at Corps. They just had four games in San Francisco, which is the opposite of course field. Basically, he's trying.
But he's got a five game hit streak. He has one game with multiple hits in that span. He doesn't strike out much. He's got a five times in the last three years, did he really including one game where he struck out three times. He's not supposed to strike out much. Well, you know what, the major's a little bit of a different beast that he's growing. He I think he'll get there. I think it's gonna take a lot longer than most, and most also gonna like they
play left field in fifteen games. Yeah, he's basically their utility guy. He can bounce around. In fifteen games. He has fourteen strikeouts. The one walk all right, A look get better. Yeah, he's not gonna walk a lot right away. I would say this based on his minor league profile. He shouldn't strike out this much. You know, he was last year in Triple A he had three fourteen with
a seventeen percent strikeout rate. So normally strikeout rate raises, you know, five six percent in the majors, so he's probably more of like percent strikeout rate. It shouldn't be twenty eight percent where he's at right now. So I agree he's to get better and he's just adjusting. Modest five game hit story going on for the for the Rockies right now. But he's gonna play every day, and I like that. The Rockies about at him second yesterday, get a little confidence in him. He's a bad at
second that second. Each of the last three days beautiful. For the Colorado Rockies were in San Diego for a little two games set and then they head home to face Philly. It's a four game series, I believe in Colorado. For it's against Philly. You're saying against Philly four game series in Colorado? That is is that it's gonna be. I mean, it's gonna be. We have our d best contest on Friday, and it's gonna be all Phillies and Rockies basically. I mean, if you can afford them, the
prices are going to be. The Rockies haven't really been hitting though, I mean, but again, they haven't been home. So we'll see you later on in the week. Yeah, we will. Um, what do I want to mention here next? What do I want to go next? I wanted to go to Yeah, Corey Kluber. So, Corey Kluber once again, Frank doesn't get the job done for Cleveland. I know you were often you have those shares with him, you
didn't want him. But now we talked about her mom marquees and selling and meeting reactionary certain boards, certain points. How reactionary you being right now, Cuba. This is an interesting one because look, if you're a believer that he's going to bounce back, then this is there's no better time to buy low on Corey Klueber. I mean, he's got an ear ray over six. His whip is one point eight four. Often garbage yesterday against the Royals. I
mean you'd expect that to be a solid start. I know the wind was blowing out this weekend in Kansas City and Charls Carrasco his team also gets bombed on Friday. UM talk about the DFS contest. He was the he was the highest price starting pitcher on Friday night. And by the way, you gotta give and my my buddy Bib finished in second place, so we didn't he he had Auston Meadows. Basically, if you had any of the double Donk and diis Eloy Austin Medos, then you probably
had a good night. But act this. For a second, I thought I was done a really good night too, but a lot of points, I thought, Yeah, I even seventh. I had a hundred and fifty three points, right, that was what did? What did Mike Florida? Yeah, so I had one nineties the week before when it wasn't for money, second to last place this time around. By the way, so when Frank when it counts, when for months Frank doesn't bother even checking his team, you know, Greg, Greg's
trying to call me out here. First of all, it was it was my the anniversary of the day that I met my fiance. So we're out to dinner. I set my line up and I come back and see that rugeneddo door did not play. So I was super pit and I was like five minutes late talking about and Fandel pull my phone out and I see, uh, rugeneddo door scratched, and then of course he lames on
the il. So that was crap. Everyone else in my line of played, Greg, they just well it was basically that was half of that was my half of my text to you. The other half was not only did you start rooting at a door. He started Greg Birth, Well, you super cheap. That's like an automatic zero. You know, I made terrible lineup. Don't tinker too much. It's daily.
It's daily in my room. You know. He probably cheap made a line up in the morning just to kind of like set it up, and then I was gonna come back and change it later on, which is what I did earlier on in the day. I had Juli Gurriel in my lineup. He has a grand slam. I take him out for Greg Bird, who puts to zero. I had Eloy Jimenez in my line I did take him out, and I think I put him like Mark Hanna or someone garbage like you. I mean, I don't take it there. That's that's a huge swing like I
only had really had over thir so. I had Julie my lineup. Had Elvis Andrews in my lineup. Must be crap. No, the paddock. He's didn't get the winning. It's great, but he didn't get the quality start either. One guys that go deep into and I think I had a Wardo Rodriguez at night. He was very chalky, but I had Wheeler which worked, but he gave he because he was kind of cheap. Yeah, and you're right though. My first lineup, I had Eloy in there. I had because he was
so cheap. It was two thous. I had someone else. I think I had Meadows in there, and then I took them all out and refabricated my lineup. Yeah. I don't tinker too much, That's what I But that's why I don't like the daily because it's like, you never know who's gonna hit a home run or two home runs and in one game, so much variance in baseball. Yeah, exactly. You know, it's very hard to project baseball on a nightly basis. On a weekly basis is a little easier,
you know. That's why I think, you know, most of the time, like even if guys are cheaper. So that's what I like. I I did is I took hose Heir in mirrors because he was third cheap. Like so I'm like, oh, well, you know he's gonna for his talent. Yeah, I put him into So just try and get talented guys into your lineup. And you know, Elo Jimenez hadn't shown up yet, but we know the talent is there.
Austin Meadows has shown up all year and the talent was also there on Friday, So I think, ultimately, just try and get talented guys into your line up. Don't worry about, you know, lefty versus righting matchup too much. Yeah, and uh, you know, I stacked that Rangers and A's game because it was in Exis and it seemed like it was a good environment and it was Smiley against Mike Fires, So I wanted to get a lot of those guys and ultimately it just it didn't work out.
I went with the matchups more than I did just trusting talented players. That's why I got burnt. But it's a hard balance. Yeah, it definitely is. Regarding Corey Kluber, I'll tall you this, Greig, and the two starts that he's gotten shelled this year were ones where he struggled with command yesterday. That's that's not like Corey Kluber and the two starts that he gave you a quality start, he was one walk in both of those, and then against the White Sox where he got bombed and just
didn't have anything. It was three walks. And you know, I was looking at pitching leaderboards yesterday, Greg and there was a name that kept popping up on all of them for good reasons, and it was Corey Kluber. So I don't want to paint this picture as it's all bad, because the swinging strike rate the season has been really good, and the first pitch strike percentage has been really good, and the chase rate has been really good. So there
are underlying skills that's still look good with Klueber. But I'll tell you this, it's hard hit rate. When he's pitching in his own and people are seeing the ball well against him, they're mashing. So I mean, if you couple like the games where he just doesn't have it and he's walking guys and people are also squaring him up because they have a forty hard hit rate against him, I don't care if you have a theory about a juice ball or not. If you're starting pitcher that's giving
up hard hit rate, you're gonna get bombed at time. Yeah, And that's what's happening with with Corey Kluber. He's just I think he's gonna bounce back down, not necessarily fooling people. He's gonna bounce back in this like I would trade Marquees in a hot second. I will give up Marcas. It might be something that you can actually pull off. I would do that in a hot second. Yet I think you can pull that off. You might be able to pull this. Maid Sailors is the leading cleaning service

I'm not on team Tiger, like I've never been in awe of Tiger Woods, but this was fourteen years in between Master's Winds for Tiger Woods, which is freaking very very incredible to me. That's like something that in my mind place really really enhances the legacy. It's freaking impossible. Ricky Fowler still hasn't
won once. Tiger just did it again. I gotta tip in my white bald head to this guy. Sweet days not Ammy staring on F and T s Y Radio and on your popular podcast providers Scary Sight Uh in Paris right now as the Order Dame Cathedral and the most famous cathedrals in the world songs fire yeah, and that it is the one of the oldest and most famous cathedrals in the world of getting Goose Bump is actually thinking about it. I was there a couple of
summers ago. I was literally talking about it with Judy's mom yesterday about the cathedral, and it is now earning some sort of terrorism. I don't know. I haven't seen the word terrorism anywhere so far. What they're saying is because they've been doing renovations on on the cathedral. Um. What they're saying is that it's started in the attic of the cathedral where they are taking care of renovations. So mistake, stake sort some kind of construction gone wrong
or something, who knows, very scary, very very scary. The other Um, the other news. I just saw a break on Twitter a little less important which shouldn't be, but not really baseball really baseball related either. Um. Donald Trump has announced that Tiger Wood is going to be given the Presidential Medal of Freedom. What does that mean? President? It is the highest civilian honor that a man or a woman or a woman can get. The best a
man civilian, civilian honors. She's not like a member of government or he's not or in the army or anything like that. He's just a civilian. So like Joe Biden got it, like when he was retiring, where's leaving the vice presidency and Vin Scull people get it. Even Scully has gotten in. Meryl Streep's gotten it. Like people get it. But it's just funny that like this guy Tiger Woods through all of his you know, negative negativity, now there's a lot of it. You win the masters, you get
the president. If it happens when your friends with Donald Trump. I guess, seriously, are you close to the side of of buying low on Corey Kluber or just I want nothing to do with it because this might be he just falls off a cliff. I think I'm more. I'm more on the side off He's gonna figure it out. We've seen clues. We've seen slow starts from Corey Cluber before.
I mean, I don't know it's been this bad, but we've seen slow starts from Cluber before, and I depending on how low you can go, I'm interested, and I'm interested. You take the shot here trade Luise kiss Club, I don't know if i'd do that. Yes, so bylow so high? Right, so we're talking about yeah, I mean it is your trade. Would you trade Jamison town again him? No? I would you would trade wheel to get him? Definitely not. I'm further away from this away, I'll tell you this though.
I'm more on the side of I don't really want anything to do with it. Right is going to bounce back somewhat because his babbit right now is it's the fourth worst in the league. Like he's getting squared up right now, right right now, he is, But that'll go down and his fIF is four four oh five and his e R area now six on six. So there's gonna be you know, regression to the mean, which would be a positive over six. I agree with that totally.
But you know, even let's say he gets it down to by season's end, he's he's below four year A, which you can easily do it. Look, you put together a few h six seven inning shutout games and the EARRA will already be under four. That's fine, but you know, people who drafted him in the second third round, we're expecting a lights out low three z r A, maybe a sub three e R a. I just don't know if that's gonna happen anymore. There's those warning signs for me.
He's an enigma. He's a hard one to figure out because again I spoke about the skills, and there's a lot to like here, but the fastball velocity is down and the hard hit rate is up, and he's the groundball rate is down, so he's giving up more fly balls and people are hitting the ball harder off of him, so he's gonna give up more home runs and he's walking more people, so there's more people on base when he's giving up these home runs and he's giving up
these hard hits. So, right, he's a hard one to figure out. And the fact that he where he's at in terms of his age, he's thirty three years old. He's no spring chicken. It's two are more in straight. But I'm a little bit closer to you know, Look, the past couple of years, he's been a two point eight nine year, a two point to five, three point one four. I don't think he's gonna I don't think he's gonna be around there anymore. I don't think so.
I think he's probably closer to so probably like a three five three six arra and that's not what you drafted him for. Yeah, I mean I just think that a lot of it has to do with he throws kind of like he has a sinker, right, So I think if that's not actually on point, you know how, like sinkle bowl pictures chim Ming Wong in the past, um Aaron Cook, any sinker bowlers right that don't have it that day get shelled. Usually chim Ming Wong used
to happen to all the time. So if you have a sinker, if you're not type a picture and you're not on and your sinker is not sinking right, you're gonna get shelled. I think that's something you could just figure it out too, which is exactly what would lead to him getting shell and him getting it hit hard and giving up more flyballs is not if you're a sinker at picture, you want to pitch down on the
zone and get ground balls, either groundballs or strikeouts. So in his career he's been all right sinking like he's never had a good fastball. Obviously, you have to use your fastball. It's a sinking fastball you have to be able to use at that times. But he plays off of using a really good cutter in a really good slider. Now, even if those pictures are really good and he's leaving the sinker of and it's getting crushed, it's not gonna matter.
I'm not gonna matter how good you're breaking stuff is. I'm worried about him. I'm a little bit more worried about and then you should be worried. Yeah, but I wouldn't um panic yet. There's a few aces that you know, we've got some problems. Corey Kluber no to an extent, hasn't been himself this year, all right. I mean, come on, guys, you know we're three four starts into the season. Carrasco, I gotta turn this around a little bit. Mm hmm. Yeah.
I think it will for most of them. And uh, while we were talking about that, Chris Davis, Chris Davis wouldn't see I found in the main event to run ding ding. How do you feel that? You gotta feel awesome? You know what I was. I was watching the at bat and then I stopped to uh to look in the the Corey Cluber numbers. I missed the home run, so that sucks. My question is, why did you pick up Chris Davis fifteen team main event. I had bids in on Dan Vogelboch, I had bids in on Hunter Dozer,
and I had a Milky Cabrera as my utility. And he only plays five games this week. So Chris David at least evan Um, he's gonna be that Mber he spent again. It was like eight bucks on him of whatever. So he gets off the schneide. He gets two hits over the weekend. He asked for the ball back, which I thought was hilarious. He's not gonna hit one, right, So if we if we see you're not gonna hit under a hundred, if we see a regression to the
mean for Chris Saves. Even if he only hits two hundred for the rest of the season, that means for the next couple of weeks, maybe he'll you know, he's gotta get to two hundred. He's under a hunter right now, so he's gonna someone turn it around, right. I think I don't know what the power is anyone. You just hit a home runs? What did your boy buying anything of that? Start starting? Chris Davis. I'm we haven't really been in contacts so far alright, Look, I mean the
week's already fine. He gave me a home run, like whatever, and you could you could change the line up on Fridays in the main event, So if he sucks for the next couple of games, that's nice. You can do that. You know who is ripping Josh Bell? Absolutely raking. I shouldn't have dropped him. I should have picked him up. I should have paid more. Did somebody pick him up? I would hope somebody picked him up. Yeah? Absolutely, yeah, I believe he's owned by one of the listeners for
the program. That's good. It even a little uh just drop the bat. He knew what was gone immediately. Good for you know, he deserves it. Let's go Chris Davis. I'm just root for him, well partially because Nando wrote an article about him and guy like chewed out by everyone. So I want Chris Davis and just mash for you, nan noo, He'll do it for you. Chris. Absolutely, Okay, Um, well, what else do you want to talk about from over
the weekend? What else did that we measure? You know, it's about the Texas Rangers because Ruvett Odor hits a d L and he's gonna be like shut down for two weeks before ramming ramming him back up. At least he would cry too, he's been bad. Is this a really? No, it's real because he was scratched on Friday night, as
I was joking about with Frank. You had him this lineup, scratched on Friday night and then put on the d L on Saturday, not picking up a ball, like I said, for two weeks, and there's no guarantee after that he'll be ready to rock. If you're an Odor owner, can you drop him? Yes? I wouldn't you know. I was higher on him than most community. I was too. Actually, see this, as you get him for dirt cheap, right cheap,
you might be able to just pick him. Look, I'm not saying I'm not someone who's gonna stash try and
trade for Odor. If I have a bunch of other injuries like I do, like if I have Daniel Murphy injuries and and now hard and stand and you can't afford to do that, right, But if you've been one of the more fortunate owners who hasn't been bit with the injury bug, and I would actively go out and try and well, you know, maybe wait a week, maybe they drop out Door and then I picked him with someone dropped him last year in a fifteen team league, Greg, and we pounced on him and we spent like you know,
of our budget to pick up out door h And he was walking a lot this year. The strikeouts were up, you know, he's always struggled with strikeouts. But I was very high on Odor and I'm not giving up on him. You know, a couple of games, a couple of weeks into the season. He also has tried to steal three bases already this year. He's only been you know, one for three, but at least he's trying. You know, the stolen bases is about intent, So he's had the intent
of running. Well, you said trust, so I would buy he could still be a fifteen fifteen guy. Is what you wanted, right, pretty much looking for I wanted like twelve fifteen stolen bases and close to home runs. That was bullish on him, right, But you have to understand that Odor, this is kind of what you're gonna get from most. Like I said before, he's streaky, you know, better for road. He's not a contact coming yet. I
didn't want him as a points league player. Yeah, he's I wanted him as a roto player, right, and I would still buy him for dirt is the power and speak combo maybe that you could get and listen. But he's gonna hit for a low average, Like that's just what you're getting with him, you know. He he's been all over the map with the batting average. So like one year he had two or four, but the year before that he had two seventy one. Yeah, it's like,
who's the real odor? I think that's that's the real If he's two fifty two sixty, he's not hurting your batting average, No, but he coun also have two thirty two. You know, there's a wide range of outcomes for for Old Door, but I really liked the gains that he made from it. Was like June on last year, he made significant gains, especially in terms of walking, and I like that the walk rate has stayed this year too.
Last year an eight percent walk rate, whereas in his career, who's five percent, and so far this year he's eight and a half percent walk rates. Again, the walk rates have if he lost ring at old or who is or a couple of second days where you could pick up in this place. I think in twelve team leagues, if Brandon Law is out there, he's only owning like yahooly, so you might actually be out there if you just need a middle infielder in general and deeper league Freddy
Galvis and another one yesterday, he's hot, Danji Swan. Again. Look, if he was out there anywhere, he should be owned already. But those are a few a few middle infielders that come to mind if you play in you know, a L only or fifteen team mixed. How about the guy who's just gonna replace him? Well, is he gonna play most of the time or is it gonna be Logan
Forsy what? I'm not sure? I think I think it's for what yea the most added second baseman on Yahoo and then the top one and Jeff McNeil and deeper leagues Chad Pinder. Fine, he's played well, Caar Hernandez. Maybe if he was dropped, I don't think that he would have been. How about this Greg? I picked this guy up in the Great Fantasy Baseball Invitation in deeper leagues it's a fifteen team mixed Rhodo. Yeah, I look, I was just looking at how he can starting over. Brian Doeser.
Dozer sucks man, So he started two days in a row spot in that in that two hole at second base, hit a home rung with two or five yesterday. I mean, looking to his game, rock man, it's great. Always been doing his hitting and that's what he's playing. Will you continue to players a question? Bryan Doer has been bad and I didn't draft him anywhere because, like, he's always been super streaky. But I don't know, man, Like he just fell off the face of the planet last year.
And he's always been a guy who has a lot of infield fly balls and strikes out a lot average. Just fell off the face of the planet last year. So I didn't want anything to do with him. I had him ranked pretty low. Actually at this point you could almost drop him, you know. So in in a deeper league, I took a shot on Howie Kendrick. You know, maybe he steals Brian Doser's drop when he's playing. He's
bad second. I mean, if you're batting between Adam Eaton and then ahead of of all these other guys in the middle of the lone Anthony re So, I mean that's he's not gonna play every day. Yet I think a better guy is maybe Jeff McNeil. I mean, he's really agree with that. He's really hot and he's hitting multi hit like this guy could hit man. He's had three multi hit games in a row. He's got He's got multi hits in four of his last five games. This is Jeff McNeil. You know he's gonna hit for
batting average. So at the least he's sitting three three right now with nine ribbies, doesn't have a homer, doesn't have a stolen base. But it's basically who Jeff McNeil is. Um, you know, regarding how Kendrick that was. Just again this is kind of one of the Mattmodica things. Again, Greg, I'll pick him up a week early and see if it's sticks, See if he kind of steals Brian Doser's job and he's bad. If you're batting second in the
in the National's lineup, that spot that you want. I got a guy too that I just picked up actually in the pit league. Um, he's not second base eligible in uh Espan leagues, but you know who he is. Second base shorts up. William Domas of the Tava Bay Rays absolutely raking like absolutely raking right now. He's actually got a hitting streak going on and multiple multi hit games. Um, but he bats late in the lineup, which kind of stinks. So but I think he'll move up. I mean, the
guy's hitting too good at this point now. And this was a guy who was a top prospect. Uh and people I don't think realize realized that. Right now, I think it's a guy you could pick up and replace an odor or a Lordi's Goriel who just got sent down. Has eight consecutive games with a hit. He has won two, three or four six consecutive games with a run scored as well. Yeah, this guy you could pick up. Man,
it's a good call. And this just tells you how slow of a start he got off to, even with all the hits on batting two fifties, so he got off to a super slow start, and a lot of people might have dropped him because of that. But yeah, I think that's a good call if he's you know, he's probably more likely in twelve team weeks than fifteen teams. You know, we gave you a few deeper options as well.
Ye how this Greg Jason Kitness expected to return to short He's BA and outfield eligibility activated off the i L As Brad Miller was cut, he wasn't very happy bout that. But Kidney is coming. Sorry Brad Miller. He's really upset. Guy just lost his job. Not just said of the minors he was should have cut and he was like, he's one of the guys actually hitting on the team. He was just like, I don't understand this.
He was really not trying to win. Can you even send Brad Miller down to the mine and just at this point they just cut him. I don't think you. I don't think they actually him. Is you asked him if he wants to get sent down to miners. If he declines it, then you just can't. They didn't. They didn't do that. Um, then hipness is coming back. Uh and his teenate Francisco Lindoor has been cleared to start a rehab assignment. And you know, Carlos Gonzalez makes his
debut yesterday. Not that I'm expecting the world from Carlos Gonzalez. Also watched that game yesterday. Very weird not seeing him in black and purple anymore. It was his odd seeing him in blue and red for the Cleveland Indians, but again in deeper leagues, regarding Carlos Gonzalez, he thinks of Hanley Mayor, of this guy, he's Betty third, Betty third, right, So you know it's just behind Jose Ramirez and Leone's Martine. Leone's Martine another one red hot right now had a
great week last week. He like gree Homers, he stole a base. You're like five ribbis and five runs scored, and so I likely only's Martine. You know, in four or five outfielders leagues, I would have picked him up. But I think in deeper ones, Hitness coming around. We'll see if we can never talk to dr about Bradley Zimmer, but Lindoor Hitness and then at some point Bradley Zimmer and Leon Spartan and Jose ramiresnd has to get its
going to turn around. Hot to hell. On Jose Ramires You're you're telling me that having those guys in the lineup isn't gonna help him. Absolutely, you know we help. It's not gonna hurt. I agree, that's gonna do it for us here, all the fantasy best friends forever. I want to thank our guest, Matt Modica want to thank Chris Sean and Alex down stairs, Chris vent Shaw, Frank Stafell, I am Greg Sousman. We'll be back tomorrow to break it all down, we hope
