Chris, What's top? What's top? I'm more energetic today, sounds left. Thank you. I appreciate that. Um, you know, I'm feeling good. I
have a drift tonight too. I think Draft night too. It's really good. I'm not sure. I don't know what that means. I haven't looked I mean, like five leagues, and I don't know when the drift up it there all this week. We got one Sunday, I know that. The league, Yeah, I think I do have one. No, I have one Thursday, Yeah, Thursday, Sunday, one Sunday Sunday. Yeah, I think I think I'm good night. I got Thursday, Saturday auction, Sunday draft is like then the league, we
don't even talk about that. Yeah, in the morning, two games in we got two games back to back. It's five thirty tomorrow, five thirty on Thursday as well, will you wake up earlier than normal? Just watch baseball? Not even that I need my sleep, Greg, And you know I'm not a morning not a morning guy. Yeah, that happened. That's a little it. Maybe if it was a it was a Yankee game, I might do that. Yeah, But I mean, do I have to wake up at five thirty to watch Mike fires verse two? First? I think
this is you know what I mean. I think there's a chance, like thek there's a chance like so I give myself like an actually fifteen minutes to kind of like mess around in the morning time. Do you actually wake up six so, I mean, you can see a good chunk of that game if you want to yeah, I'm probably like, don't really hanging like my benefits fifteen minutes. I think I'm gonna get right up, go in the shower, come out, and then turn on the game. That's when I wake up. So maybe I can catch you. I
catch some of it. Yeah, you can watching the train anyway. Yea and a Lott service might get frustrating. We're not like watching for anything specific, are you? Do you have anybody in these on these teams? I mean yeah, I got Chris Davis and the best bowligue with Frank. I have had some players all right there. I love in the main event. So I'm hoping to get off to a nice maybe maybe you will. You will turn it
on you wake up tomorrow morning, Gordon Steals. I mean quite honestly, I'd rather watch the pitching matchup between Walker Bueller and Shane By but tonight. I think that's more that's said. You guys are amazing. You guys are amazing. All right, Frank, let's start at the catcher position where things have kind of settled. Things are what they are. Who's your catcher target going forward this week? This last draft week, there are three main targets with a few
backup options as well. And Wilson Ramos obviously a lot of us very excited about the Mets line up. You know, he was. He had the highest batting average among catchers last year. He hit over three hundred. He was the only catcher do that qualified catchers. So the batting average is gonna be there. He's gonna hit in the middle of this line up. I'm very excited about Wilson ron
Most I know, a bad ball profile. He has a lot of balls in the ground, but he's consistently had a home run to flatball ratio over right around, so I trusted it will be there again. Hit three hundred seventeen eighteen home runs and that range. I think the counting sets will be pretty good as well. Done. Grandal another target of mine for obvious reasons. Gonna play every single day, great hitters ballpark in Miller Park. Gonna be
in the middle of a great lineup as well. And I think he's good for either format, rode or points leagues because he has good discipline in terms of walk grade. Yeah, he's always double digit walk grades. You know he's gonna hit, you know, close to twenty five runs, maybe even exceed five runs. Batting average won't be great. It always strikes out a decent amount um so probably like a hitter.
That's fine though, because he's a catcher, you know, so Wilson Ramo's grandal and then Yadi your Molina every year, no one wants Yadi here Molina. This gets the job done, steady, Eddie. Not gonna hurt your batting average to sixty two two seventy hitter, I'm side to be even better than that. Fifteen home runs, counting status are counting, stats are solid. He's not gonna hurt you anywhere. So those are my three main targets. And then you know, I think it's
just worth mentioning. If I miss out on those guys, I'm just gonna wait and then probably end up with Danny Jansen or Willington Castillo if I play in a one catcher league, to catcher leagues, Francisco Mihia as a second catcher, I like Almaravayez as a second catcher as well. And then Carson Kelly has ended up in a few places. So those are my main catcher targ for me. Um. I like to tier where you are with Ramos, with Molina, with YASMANI Grandel. Those are the guys I want, but
I'm not going to reach for any of them. Ideally, will take the last one on the board. If I'm exactly what I did, If if I'm in the right spot, and if and if there happens to be a catcher run miss on all of them, I'm just gonna wait. Yes, the wait to the end and they can can drift Rancesco. I'm serious, exact. I think you know Trancisco and was on Modiquz team as a second hatcher this weekend. Seriously, I'll just wait. I'll draft like Franciscan be here and
when he plays, will be happy when he doesn't whatever. Yea, it is worth mentioning. I like Danny Jansen regardless of format two because more or less of beef. I have him ranked one spot higher, and look, he's gonna play every single day. They traded away Rosells Martin. They're ready to hand over the keys to the starting catcher job to Danny Jansen. The walk grades have been very good in the minor leagues. You look at last year in Triple A twelve point two percent, the year before fourteen
point one percent. Last year in thirty one games at a major league level nine and a half percent walk rate, So I think it could be a you know too, sixty two seventy hitter with twelve to fifteen home runs. He's gonna play most of the time. The thing about that is, I think Carson Kelly could do something kind
of similar and he's going basically for free. So if you need if you play in a Roada league where you need two catchers, I think Carson Kelly is gonna play every single day, be like a two six he hit or with double digit home runs. I don't think he's necessararily gonna hurt you. And when when you need two catchers, that's what you need to find Greg. So
it's really a catcher who's not gonna hurt you. And that was my thought with Mahia that I don't care how many games he plays, because when he plays, he's going to hit. Yeah. Well no. But here's the thing though, with Kelly, I don't know, I like me here a little better, like I feel like me. He is gonna get involved a lot because he was bad, right, So, yeah, Kelly don't have to have Carson Kelly. Kelly's good though he don't have that bad. I think that Mahia could
potentially have. And the other thing what Kelly is you got him as a righty, he got a villa on the Besh's a lefty. He's gonna get playing. Yeah, Well, I mean all backup catchers get played. Yeah, but there's like three He's there three catchers, Murphy. There, there's three guys. There's a lot. Don't really worry much about it. I mean he fell off the face of the earth last year. He was the flavor of the month if they traded Gulchman away, and a big part of that was getting
Carson Kelly. He was supposed to be the air apparent satire Molina never really got the opportunity to play in St. Louis. Obviously they got back Luke Weaver, but I think getting back Carson Kelly was a big piece of that trade. I personally think that they're gonna let him play most of the time. Like if they play six games in
a week, he'll play four to five games. I think he's gonna play most of You have him as like you know, deep leagues, and you know I don't want it, Like if I play in one catchually I don't want Carson Kelly only catcher, No, no, no, I mean Jansen is a good one. I think he's a top nine catcher, ranked eight. So the mahea, Greg, you're you've been the Maha guy. How many times per week do you think he's gonna play three? A backup catcher, backup catcher, hedges,
a great defensive catcher. That's the problem. That's the way, because I want to like me here, I think everyone wants to like Maha Padres. You don't get to say this many times in your lifetime. They have a wealth of riches they right now. I mean between their outges is one of those riches though, great defensive catch power, a little power for power, and they don't really they don't really need him to do much in terms of adding because the rest of their lineup, it is all
of a sudden very good, Greg. Yeah, So, I mean the Padres are gonna have a ton of prospects. They have a wealth of riches in their outfield and the cashier pizzers. That's why I wouldn't be worried about Machado either, because I think he'll be just fun. I don't think you should have to worry because I had a friend tell me, I don't really like Machado that much because so much is in San Diego. Now, I said, that's
not that big of a deal. Maybe he loses a couple of homes, gain a couple of doubles in the process, and he's got guys around, and then they could produce with and still get counting sets. People are worried about Peco because it used to be this big pictures. They moved the defences in and it's it's it's come a little bit closer to being neutral right now. And but I don't disagree with you about Machado. I saw over the weekend in one of these high stakes draft he
went in the middle of the third round. You can't have teen team leads. I don't care. He's elite around Greg, I don't agree with let's go to let's me on a first base, right, some of our first base targets that we're looking at this week four hour draft. For me tonight, I've been all over this Daniel Murphy train. Obviously in points leagues. I'm always gonna like Carlos Antana, Josian Bray, you that tire and Matt Olsen that tears
kind of where I want to live. Yeah, me too, Greg, And that's why I don't think I'm gonna end up with a lot of shares of Freddie Freeman or Golschman. And it's not because they're bad players. I think they're fine. I actually have Freddie Freeman ranked is my my top first baseman. I still think that he's gonna have like he has the capability to have a season where he goes over three hundred, where he hits thirty to thirty
five homers and over a hundred RBIs. It hasn't happened altogether yet, but I think Freddie Freeman is capable of all that. So I am ranked is my first first baseman. But again, like you, I've been living in that middle tier, so I haven't really wound up with a lot of shares of these guys. I love a bray you. I really don't think he's that much different than Anthony Rizzo, and he's going, you know, fifty sixty picks later than
Anthony Rizzo. Um. I like Matt Olsen at too. I've also, you know, Hazew's aguilar has grown on me a little bit for points leagues though, Greg Carlo Santana has been a top ten first baseman each of the past five years, and in points leagues. He's not drafted that way. No, he's he's a great value. Yeah he is. I agree with that. But the thing with Santana is just he's basically a compiler. He's gonna play very reliable for very boring to fifty batting average and twenty five home runs.
It doesn't get more mediocre, more met than that. Whatever's gonna be. But he walked more than he strikes out. He's gonna hit doubles too, So I mean he's always great, solid, but you can get him late because like you said, he's boring. Who's who? Who are your main first base targets? Well, Freddie Freeman obviously is on my team, but I kept him, so that's different. You know, a third round keeper. I think that's a good value there because you know he
could be the best. And quite frankly, he hasn't done anything in his career to say otherwise except get hurt, and that's when people kind of jumped off dealing with the risk issue. Right years ago. He played a hundred sixty two games last year. Last year he did exactly why he's still an elite player and he could even do better. So the floor is absolutely one of the best in the league. When it comes to Freddie Freeman gold Schmid, these guys like you said you don't want
to pay for him. I get it because you guys probably think the first base is very deep and you don't need to pay up at first base when you can pay up at all the positions that aren't deep. Right, So I do like Rizzle. I do think Rizzle deserves to be at the head of Um. Who are you saying reasons my third first basement? Yeah, I have a breave as my eight. It's definitely a difference. Were you
saying the value you like? You like getting him? You know fifty sixty right, But the only difference there is that you know Brad was really never gonna walk. Rizzle walks a lot. That's the big difference. Rodo Um, Jose, Brad is gonna have a better batting average. I think the home runs will be similar, Uh, the RBIs will be similar, maybe an advantage of of runs to Anthony Rizzo because the Cubs line up is a little bit better. Uh, And he'll give you five stolen bases where a brave
you will give you nothing. Those are the biggest differences. I don't think that's worth of fifty fifty spot difference in the draft. Probably add also consistency in there, because Rizzo has been so consistent, so content every year. Anthony Rizzo slow starter. Man. You know, if you don't draft Anthony Rizzo, just trade for him in May or or June because he sucks in the first couple of months. I don't know if it's because it's cold in Chicago.
The ball doesn't fly as well in the early months when when it's that cold and the wind is blowing in regularly. But for whatever reason the past couple of seasons, because I've owned him each of the past two years in roto early on, he sucks just like you know who used to be like that, always started real slow. Um. But my target, you guys know, Josh Bell is one of my targets. Um. It's a corner in fielder more than a first base. Yeah. I wouldn't want him as
my starting first baseman. Uh, you know, but I'd be okay with like going every other position and saying, you know what, I'll wait for Josh Bell and he'll be my worst player on my team, but it'll be my first baseman. I'm actually okay with that. I'm not confident in him, but you know that's me, Joey Gallow. I'm not on I'll tell you that. Even though even though his's Italian, even though you know he's been consistent with the homes, I just worry about that average killing his
playing time. Uh. And then you have one of the guy that I really like later as a target that you could get as a backup, even is justin Smoke. I think Smoke's gonna have a pretty big bounce back year, you know, in terms of power. So I think those are probably the guys. Otherwise, you know, I'm in with all those guys in that those first and second tiers. And what I'm saying honorable mention for Luke Boit Greggy, just because I've been on record saying it wouldn't surprise
me if he's this. Here's haze battball profile reminds me a lot of Haze. Hits the ball extremely hard, he can go the opposite way. He's built perfectly for Yankee Stadium. People might worry about playing time, but I mean he's done everything he has to do to the spring to win the job over. I think he's gonna be the Yankees every day first baseman and obviously playing in that ballpark, in that lineup. I mean, there's a lot of upside
to me. He's like in the purgatory between what I want to be my starting first basement and my corner infielder, because he's he's a fallback option as a starting first baseman. I deally, I probably don't want him as my starting first baseman, but I would love to have him as my corner infielder. Could He's right in the middle of both of those, right, And you know, you could do a kid in my drifted this drifted void Bird back to back in the fourteen and fifteen. So you locked
up New York Yankees first basement. It's like it's like handcuffing your your first basement. It's like, I mean it could work. I mean, people want exposure to the Yankees lineup. It's not the craziest thing. Wait and bird and then he went Alonso after that interesting all all New York first baseman. He took all the New Yorkers, all the New York's, Yeah, cool with it. Greg looks like he's just I just don't not doing the like the Luke
Void thing. I think ultimately, I find myself right caught a call in the middle because I don't want to pay up at the corner in field spot as we saw. But he's, like you said, around the twelfth right, first basement, so he's gonna cost me too quarter spot exactly. He cost me too much, me a quarter infielder, and I'm not gonna want to necessarily way to round for him to be my first basement. Potentially, I agree you don't target him. I wouldn't like be like, oh I'm waiting
for Void. I'm just not gonna take any first baseman, so I could get Void right, do that exactly? Vo. It's ADP from the weekend was that one seventy eight some hitters who went just behind him ramon Loriano's he's our Hernandez Domingo Santana. Greg, would you rather have Luke Void or Domingo Santana all things equal right now, Domingo Domingo close. I like Domingo. I would still playing time
and series. Lov'm sorry with the biggactly. I mean, are you really a concern about why this is what if, Gregg, What if because of Aaron Higgs now starting this season on the team, starring the season on the I L alls and Gregg Bird plays gets hot? I would Gregg Bird play, though I still don't think he's gonna be in the alum the twenty five minutes starting to season. Even even if Aaron Higgs starts in the I L I think they'll probably have Clint Frasier sound Frank when

By the way, I've just been told for those that are are watching and listening, we now open roster spot in our Fantasy Baseball league Need Company Fantasy Baseballly, the f T S Y League, if anyone wants to join. I think it's a fifty entry fee. Fourteen team had to head category weekly on Yahoo weekly at head points.
I think I think it's heads agories. We ventures in the league. And he doesn't even know ye do you know I'm in the LEA. I have no idea I'm more than certain its head categories. Greg's team. All right, I'll look right here, one catch at one first base second. It's definitely had categories, utility, some weird categories here. I'm not a categories guys, basically points for you, dude, it's extra base hits is a category, one category by itself. Yes, a Martinez that we make this five by five rather
than I think it's like seven by seven. I don't like this. I don't like this. You gotta talk to Steve. I'm not expressing his concerns here. What is this? Runs hits homes home A right, we get rid of hits. It doesn't need to be a category. Dude. Instead of hits, he's gotta put doubles, tripping average and opus at Frank, can you handle this place? Yeah? We'll talk to Steve tomorrow. I think Steve in the chatt and he's watching it right now, is he? Yeah? Steve? What are we doing?
What we Alright, we're gonna get rid of hits category and extra base hits. I'm not opposed to making it a six by six and adding o BP though as an extra category. I don't need the ad average. Ops, I don't want to hang average and ops. It's pretty cool. I'm fine. I like quality starts. You know that. Let's hits and extra base hits as a category. Stupid, Yeah, there shouldn't be horror. Oh it's interesting is holdly? We had holds here? Okay? All right? Are winds? Save strikeouts?
Hold e r a whip? That's fine, whatever, that's fine. Seven by seven eight, it's eight by seven right now, right? Eight by seven? Right? So let's eliminate two hitting categories. One. Let's let's get rid of hold. Why don't we make it saves plus holds. Let's do that, steve it does plus holds. Quality starts will also be a category. Will make it a six by six category. Totally agree, yes, and then get it to hits. But don't get rid of ector extra a base hits you just did. Then
what are you gonna have? You're just gonna have home runs? Right? What about singles, doubles and triples? I mean that doesn't matter. Who cares? Because if your players players hit doubles and they're more likely to score runs and they're more likely to drive in rbs, you get you get those other categories.
Need that, okay, and plus it's gonna help your your Yeah, your ops will be higher because you hit a double exactly, all right, Steve, you hear that no hits, no ops, no holes or no hits, no extra base hits, getting rid of those. We're getting rid of the holes category. We're making it saves plus hole done, Steve. Yeah, but how do we choose if people want to be in here? What what do you say? He said, I'm here. Huh,
we'll vote on this tomorrow. We just override. We just did we just do we fill us vetoed it's over But Greg, you're very big on democracy obviously and being democratic here, and this doesn't seem very democratic. You can't democratic sports. No, Yeah, I know that. Dane was out on the he was like, let's eliminate some of these categories. I got an email from I just I just saw the categories. I'm not but Greg, you said that there's an open spot, and now there's a lot of people
that want to jump in. Who's first? A lot of people I don't know when you not. Not A lot of people were first. One person was first, ron c said, Roy can get another ron cafferty. Now. Then once again, it was basically a tie between Big Timer and ron C. I'll join was from Big tim or first, actually all right, and then ron C was second, count me in and then our guy d j Osborne who show says he'll join as well, So he got three guys. Should I there in the mix? Should I ask a trivia question?
To design it? Mendo Bruce also a long time listening. A lot of people, A lot of people just ask trivi question, ask a tribute question. I want to find a triviy question. You're gonna fire up a trivia question. First person to call in with the answer, Okay, not not on the YouTube channel. Well I got a good trivia question. Actually do you want to ask you want to ask the question? Then? Not right now, but I'm gonna find out. Make sure that's correct, Make sure that's correct.
That's what I remember. Something that just gotta chick a question. Venture will give the question out in a few moments while we wait. Second Base targets Frank before. I think the second base is just completely loaded this year. I think we should mention when we were running through First Base Crag, we did get a update on Matt Carpenter, which we haven't talked about ye and He's already dealing with a back injurger, guys, and this is something that
has plagued mac Carminter for years now. Last year it seemed like he was bothered by early on in season, still wound up hitting thirty six home runs. So take this news however you will. He's dealing with the backing pre people will not play in spring training games again until Friday. They're holding him out. I don't know about you, guys. This worries me. He hasn't really been an active target of mine because him and Olson are kind of going in the same range. Maybe he might even be going
ahead of Olson, and I think he can. I think Olsen can do what Carboner is being ascid to do right now, to to fifty and thirty five home runs. I think Madelson could do that. So just give me the discount of Madelson anyway. That's the way I've been leaning. But this news about Carpenter definitely worries me. Say, I'm worried it's spilled the spring. They're being safe with him, guy who's always kind of dealt with the back injury, gret injury. All Right, I'm a little more worried about
it than Gregg is. We want to say before we were in a second base, I teased before the break that there was some one of you guys as hurt. Yes, Michael Fulmer, Tommy John Time. Well, it's suggested, it's not known whether he's gonna do it yet or not. That's the end of Former Fridays. Yeah, former any days. Sorry,
he's definitely at the whole year. Definitely, he's definitely getting it god enough to steal the American League Rookie of the Year from Gary Sanchez that year and ever since then he's just it's been downhill from Michael ful So, a guy that I was very high on the past couple of years, but he he dealt with a lot of injuries. He got shut down already in spring here the VLO was down. This was a guy who was drowing ninety six miles. Now he's around so clearly has
some issues going on. It sucks from Michael Former. I I you could come back. I still think he's young enough where he can come back from this, but likely not going to see him any any time. Suit m hmm, yeah. Former. At least you're not drafting him high. He're getting him
for pretty cheap. So it doesn't hurt you. If you're drafting you have him on your roster, Hey, pick up one of the pictures we talked about in the first hour, because now you have a roster spot like Strom in particular, Well, he's killing it in spring, uh until recent start, and I just yeah, right, and you getting him for nothing? You know, he's like a guy you could just basically pick up as a flyer. You could even like in
my league. He didn't get drafted. So I ended up driving alex Cologne for for Matt Strom because I had that one roster spot, and I think that he be something more than a flyer. I think he can actually give you value, and if he doesn't, you didn't pay anything for him anyway, so I think he's worth a shot. It's hard to find starting pitching late late in the draft that can actually produce. I like Strong. I think
the town is there. He said in the off season he put on about twenty pounds because he wanted to be a starting pitcher, which you'll have more durability deeper into games. While looking at the fan Grass projection systems here, they have him basically bouncing between the rotation and the bullpen. Because they have him between fifteen and sixteen starts and then between thirty six and forty one appearances. So that would tell me he's gonna bounce around between the rotation
and the bullpen. I mean, if you look at what he's done in the past couple of years. Last year he was at seventy five and two thirds endings, So maybe a realistic expectation he could get up to like
this year. They like they like the They like him for over a strikeout for ending, they like him for you know, three three seven, five to three nine nine e r A, so up four e r a a strikeout for any I mean, that's definitely worth rostering, right, And the only reason why you're getting him so cheap is because of that, because he hasn't been stretched yet. He's been a reliever pretty much. Uh, and now he's trying to become a starter and it could fail miserably,
but at least he's getting the chance. He's gained weight as positives and he's looking great in springs. Yeah, I got a lot of the guys, BOYD who you don't like. Do you have do you have the trivia question yet? Adventures? Oh? Yeah, I got it. Seven nights, whoever calls in first with the correct answer to the trivia question will be in the in house league here at the Fantasy Sports Network. Yep, do you want me to ask question? Who was second in the MLB last year in doubles? You can't look
this up though, can't look this up? Number one was Alex Bregman with fifty one. Can you tell? Can you guys call up and tell me who's number two? You can't look it up though, I can't have cheating. You guess in your mind. It's a very hard. It's hard. It's hard. It's not it's not who I was thinking? Who was second? Animil being doubles? You you cannot cheat? Yeah, even though there will never be a way of us knowing if you cheat it or not. You don't. You
don't say that. What do we do? They don't know if you can say it or not? Anyway, because Ventor's already here, like, no cheating, no cheating. That's kind of a stop man. All right, I'm sorry that it hurts me. Now. I people gonna cheat, They were going to cheat anyway, were they? All right? Colon? Do we have any callers second base position? It's gotta be quick whoever's targeted. Yea, let's do targets. So I like everybody almost like almost
every second baseman here for real, top out answer. Everybody very shallow though second based right, No, it's deep, you think it. Like Daniel Murphy, I like Max Munsey, I like Stototo Jeanette, I like Robinson Canell, I like Travis Shaw, I like Mike rustock Is, I like Runette o'dor, I like Garrett Hampson. As they eat guys are like, yeah, like every one of those guests, but like, okay, but seriously, who really the tears though, I'm saying you like guys
that aren't even like back in the here. I like all those guys, though, by point is, I'm just gonna win a second base. So then you're not gonna get a lot of shares of Daniel Murphy. You're gonna have to use like a fifth round price tag on day Murphy, just like all these guys. Doesn't make sense for me. Yeah, so, and I'm gonna agreement with you. You know, I like rugenetto door. He's someone that I've talked a lot about. He made gains in terms of his plate discipline. Last year,
he struck out less, he walked more. I saw yesterday he has an eleven percent walk right in the spring so far as I watched a few Texas Rangers games where he's actively taking what defenses are giving to him. He hit the ball, uh getting to shift the other way a few times, so Bruno door he was stubborn for a long time. You hear that a lot about these aggressive hitters. At the point they're they're stubborn, they
don't want to change their approach. Rugnodor is actually doing the necessary steps to change his approach and do things differently. So he's a target of mine. Obviously, I've been in on Robinson Cano love Mike Mustakas as well, So those are probably the my my three favorite. And then if I'm just looking at a middle infielder, a lot of guys. A guy that I've been ending up with a lot greg is Joey Wendell. I ended up with him and
the Great Fantasy Baseball Invitational. I think he could hit for a plus batting average, hit in the middle of the lineup for the Tampa Bay Rays, and there's a lot of guys in this range. Debt and hit twelve to fifteen nor runs and steal twelve to fifteen bases. Joey Wendo is one of those guys, and I think he's gonna do it with a pretty good at good counting stats. Maybe with Tampa being in the heart Attempa just goes so late that I end up with him
in fifteen leagues as my middle infield. Why are you projecting runs him? What do he last year? Ten seven and how many games one? Right? Yeah, I think he's gonna get to double digits though he did hit three. What are you doing the miners? I feel like the minor league numbers were better. There had to be a reason why I had that sen He hit twelve of the miners teen and a ball at sixteen. He also hit forty two doubles in fifteen thirty one sixteen. Nobody
loves doubles. They're important. Seven percent hard hit rate was five point four percent. You have to imagine in the at least that has to go upgrad right, especially as a lefty. I mean, he's gonna have some games in stadium too. And I like this. He bats lefty last year against leftist batting average but eight on nine, so you know he's gonna play every day he gets. I mean it looks like in the minus he didn't get
on base very well. Twenty six walks in games twenty sixteen, twenty two and a hundred thirty seven games fifteen, and he also kid a hundred fourteen times and a hundred twelve times. Those ratios aren't really that great. I mean, I've only want taking him in roto leagues where batting average matters. I haven't taken him in VP or or any points leads because then obviously in points leads don't want guys who walk more strike out. But he makes a lout of contact. He just h he's he's an
aggressive swinger. He also doesn't win bad gloves probably pieces on our hands. Who do you like a second base? So this is why I think a shild because I don't like a lot of the guys that Greg's on, like Scooter gen I know he loves Scooter Genet Scout Jets. To me, he's more like he's above average. I don't think he's great or anything. I don't think it would be any better than what he is in points leagues. He's good, he's not great. Um, you know, guys like
Jed Lowry, I'm not interested. Rogno the Door not interested. I like Glad but Torres why Bugo Door just not my type of guy, not my type of guy. In Points Leaks he's really not good. But what if he continues to make these games in terms of plate discipline he starts walking? Well, I like what you can get him. I like what you get him. I mean in my steels, he's done it before. I mean you're asking for a lot.
I think you're asking for a lot. I think at his price you get him in like that seven to nine round range, and in Points Leaks you can probably get big upside man. Yeah, I mean he he has up so he's still young. You know, I still do like him more in Rhodo than I want. I like Glabor a little more. I'll pull Mankad off the board. I love Mankad. I think he's gonna have his possible breakout this year. Uh. And then you know, guys like can know I love Alb's that Albi's is my main
second basis. And then if you miss him, you get Moncada right. It's like await from Moncada right. Rufo Door and Robertson Cano have basically needed in a second basement on all of my team when we come back Just City, North Carolina, Europe. First you can join our league next. Any questions you too? No? No, I'm good. All right, that's luck. Let's look this season. Let's go to Steven New Jersey. It's up, Steve, st Are you doing, guys? Man? What's up? So? I was actually gonna say, bets um, good thing you did since that caller said it. Yeah, I know I would have if that if I called in before that guy. So now being that veer said it's a puff and I'm that to Arizona two years ago and didn't watch Diamond back games, Yeah, I'm gonna.
I'm gonna guess a Guardo Escoba Arizona. Yes, that's correct. You are correct, and Guardo Esco I remember them talking about how many doubles he had, you have, like like almost fifty right second on the league to Bregman, very good. If you didn't play, it was a pop. I'm learned to guest him. Steve, welcome up. Are you interested in being on our Fantasy baseball that drafts on Sunday. Yeah. Absolutely, Um, how do I go about signing up? All right, so
to talk to the producer down series? Give you yeah, talk to the producer downstairs. Um, you give them your'll give him your email. Um, you'll get Steve's email and then we can handle off linenguations you guys, and uh, I really love what you guys are doing. It's a great show. Welcome, Welcome to the league. The draft is this Sunday at eight pm Eastern time, A little teen team league, head to head categories, big league, m how many teams? Fifteen? I mean, okay, alright, awesome, thanks guys,
if you have a good day. YouTube got it because he watched the Arizona dimeback Stephen Joy's he said he moved to Arizona. Yeah, so he's still Steve in Seattle. Huh give him Erican Brooklyn. What's going on? Man? Hello? How are you? What's up? Hello? Uh? You guys do an L n L only segments? We do not. Yeah, because I've been doing a fantasy baseball league before you guys were born. My first pick, well actually not my first pick, but I got Marc mauire for one dollar
in my first drift. I believe it was nineteen eighty three or eighty four, I can't even remember. But I've been doing it that long. I read the book from Wagner Um that was a million years ago. Uh And here's here's the first controversy. We picked all the guys and one guy who wasn't on the lead on his team or actually active on the roster of the American League teams from my buckle picked an unknown Boston picture
for his guy to pick his last pick. He got Roger Clemens, an unknown on Now, it was unbelievable to imagine that I can get Mark McGuire. But here's the kicker. I traded Mark McGuire for one dollar, three year contract for one dollar for Pressley and a leaf Smith. Pressley was a big hole one hitter in the early eighties and leaf Smith, who was believe Kansas City. And uh So, like I said, I've been doing this since eighty three and eighty four and only a l we had four
by four and then in the last five years. And as funny as my league is, CBS construction leg because a bunch of guys work at the construction shop there and we've been doing this since I can't even remember. And we did it in forbidding for money, and then we started doing drafts and no more keepers because keepers were getting ridiculous and things like that. But like I said, I've been watching you guys, and it's very good and very a lot of information. I really enjoy it. Were
you should do a segment, we should. You should do it, really a segment of a five by five ah, only because when I hear you guys talking the same top six or top eight guys, that's frustrated because I gotta pick number twenty and I got to get the middle and field at number twenty, and I'm looking at Tender. I was fifty with the whole run and one stolen base. Not a bad not a bad at. He's one of those guys. He's stack cast hero Greg. We're very under
the radar. You wouldn't even expect it. But this guy, Tad Pinner, hits the extremely hard. He's like he's gonna play most of the time too. Trying to pick a starting pitcher pick number twenty two and not have a above five e r A and over a hundred hundr case, it's almost possible. You got to pick your meet in
the beginning. So my first question is I pick eight out of ten guys, and then I picked thirteen, and I was probably gonna go with Sale and then Cole the best two pitchers answered that's just like each each of the other nine teams during getting one good start of one anchor and everyone else is good. That all the eras and whip are going to be monstrous that route. And yeah, the two big monsters that the two high
strike got guys. I mean, you have Bland who is in a great form, but it's Clover who can get traded. And answer that who you're looking at. You're looking at Thiebes, you're looking at um a price, You're looking at the half even if clever der embarrass But those are young guys. You want a veteran sa I've been doing this since Yeah, but like I said, we have a six reserved guy. So you can pick your starting pitches at the end
and just go these two top notts guys. Pick a cup closes in the middle like a La Clark, maybe an eight as sooner. If I want to go early, it would be maybe a five second question. Otani. Is he gonna get thirty home runs? Is she going to be at a four hundred at bets where he got like twenty three? Yeah, you talk all right. So I'll start off with Ottani because I actually ended up with him on my main event rosser from over the weekend.
I got him around eighteen of fifteen team league. But uh yeah, and he know only I do think that he can be between that three hundred fifty and four hundred plate appearances. Last year he was at three sixty seven. He played a hundred and fourteen games, and that was with him, you know, missing time here and there. That was with him being a starting pitcher. I do think that once he returns and hopefully all goes well, he'll return in May. I think that Hill play more often
than not. I mean they you know, they have a lot invested in Otani and they're paying him money. And I do think a lot of times Greg money talks, and I think that they're gonna give him a lot of opportunities to play. Last year he was phenomenal home runs ten Stone basis. So if he gets up that up to uh, you know, twenty five games, I mean, if he gets that up to games like why can't he hit twenty five home runs? And this is what we were saying about him. You know, he hits the
ball extremely hard. The home run the fly ball ratio was high last year, but hard hit rate. Um, there's a lot to like. And look at the projection systems on fan Grasive. They all have in between twenty three and twenty eight home runs with a with a two seventy plus batting ap. Lots of like there, even like especially in ale Only, you gotta find something something to
fill them in with for now. And I know A Only is gonna be a little bit tougher, but that's one of those guys where if you get him back in your lineup and an ale Only, he he's a stud. He can help carry you. You can help Carre's a hitter. Um, let'sten. He average five point one per game in my points league, five point one, which is elite beyond the league. Full point five is like, you know, Bryce Hopper, Mike Trout, Mookie Batts, that's what they averaging on a full season,
full point too to full point five. So and he walked ten percent of the time. Only issue in the leagues. He doesn't have a position. He's a d H, so you're gonna don't have to stick him in a utility spot depending on what league you're in, but most eligibilities is a d H or starting pitcher. So you gotta know that he fills your utility spot and you can't put anybody else there because he's gonna play pretty much
every day as a hitter. When he right, I mean, so he's not gonna pitch this here, They've already they've already announced that. So and when we were talking about Ottani a few weeks ago, greg I made the point that I think this might be Otani's most valuable season in fantasy baseball. Could be because he doesn't have to
worry about pitching. And last year when he was pitching, yes, he would give you both, but they would kind of take away from each other because he would pitch one time a week, but they he would only play as a hitter three times a week. Now this year, who's to say, because he's not pitching at all, that he doesn't play five six times per week as a designated hitter. You might be able to get some of the best offensive production out of Watani this season because he doesn't
have to worry about pitching? Really can hit? Yeah, even on that evening, that drum all spring, all spring, even I think he should be drafted and it mixed because I think he's still got pretty good value. Team team mixed and all only for sure anything shoveler than that. What do you think twelve team mixed Rhodo, Greg? Where are you of your last round pick? Probably he got drafted in my legs? Twelve team mixed keep believed, Yes
in the eleventh round? What do you think of the strategy of if you're playing an ale only doubling down on the elite starting pitchers in the first two rounds, you give yourself such an advantage, but you're gonna be you give yourself a huge pitching advantage either something massive hitting just had a disadvantage, a massive hitting disadvantage. You're gonna end up with players who don't play all the time, who are going to be on you know they're going
to be in platoon situations. You know, I don't want to only before it's still gonna have five, still gonna have five outfielders. You still need a middle in a corner infielder. You're gonna have guys on your team who don't play every day. I've done it. Also, it's hard you want to play a tougher league, trobably playing in the league with you're trying to get all the worst players.
Do you ever playing one of those the backwards leagues upside down leagues one of my friends fathers played, used to play where you try to draft the worst players possible, very easy? Yeah you think so, right, It's not that easy. Just all those players don't play. Well, No, no, they have to play. They have to be starting players. You have to draft players who play every day who are really bad. Yeah, you didn't get no stats if if you just unlimited catchers. Oh, you can't do that either.
It's hard. It ain't easy. Would be the first overall pick and down it's like a minimum were games they have to play? Assume I think so, yeah, you have to play a minimumum of games worst players. I'll tell you first overall pick upside down? Lee, this is what this is coming to? Uh? Where this is where we are? Hugs first picture off the board. He's in the Alex Cobb first picture off the board, Greg and the draft
Grayson Grinder. That's a good one stop Gracy grinder is actually a sleeper, and you want to talk that's gonna be one of your catchers and only expected not Sandy Leone, he is, he's he's patuning, right, that's why catchers. You're talking about catchers saying purposely, yeah, I mean yeah, there's a lot. There's a lot. There's a lot of big players to a lot of bad players when you're on the spot, right, because you always think about it like,
oh this player sucks. Correct, Now, I can't really think think of anyone who's that most. Look at my list, like I got rid of all the craft players though, the all players that I knew I've never drafted on my list. I'm forgetting players now too. It's other than me. JP Crawford is usually pretty terrible. He's got upside though. The marriage is just traded for him. Give him a shot. Nick Hunley, he's a starter. Play every there is that, Okay, if we put I don't know you, I don't know
your rules. I'm sure the catchers have a nice minimum, you know, because they put tune a lot of them. Who's terrible? Who's terrible? Looking ahead, this is where the show's come to the last four minutes of the episode. I will give you my thought. Daniel paulk is awful. Yes, no, he's not Greg. Yes, he doesn't need to average. What's that? You don't only me, Dre anybody? We need to get worse players into this. There's bad players. They're there most
worst players. How about extra Fowler is a bad player. He's bad? So you know what so is Jason? Heywards have a hunted? Does he? Oh? Second? No, don't talk bad about Hunter? Come on, what do you mean It is crazy that Daniel paul did. Yeah, right, that's crazy. Twenty four games he's got I know I said that. When I looked at him, I was like, I was like, why is no we're talking about this guy only sleep? Why are we might be a platoon player for the White Sox, but he has pop only seven bombs in
a hundred twenty four games. It's like when Venture found out the Verlin your kids would ninety guys, Well, this is a little deeper, Like nobody knew that. Nobody's looking at Pauca. This is crazy. Yeah, ninety four down, he doesn't hit average and Goodwin of the Kansas City Royal. That's what I said. Yeah, what about Anthony Santander's Orioles, he's bad. What Pence he's having a great spring. You know that Craig best shortstop in the league, in this league,
Jordy Mercer about what are like all the relievers? Why don't you get all relievers? Just get bombed like Brian Mitchell. I don't know if you could just take vers, you know what I mean? Like every every day handsil Roblost was given up a bomb less I want to join one of these leagues now. Robert Matt Joyce, he sucks. Come on, now we know who not to draft. It funny, this is fun. I like this game, your fun. I'm not a post to doing the drafting. Two legit aces
and a only though. You just put yourself so ahead of everyone else, and then you give yourself the ability if you could trade of that league. You could trade out of position of strength. Later on in the season, targeted two hitters for those guys. I like doubleing down. We didn't get here yet, but targets in third base. I like Justin Turner love Turner love Rendon obviously loved.
I did my picks earlier on in the in the week, Greg on Twitter, I had and I had Anthony Rendon is my nl M v P. Wow, I'm not gonna We're doing that next week. You know what, It's funny you say that it was something that it was kind of going viral on Fantasy Twitter. So funny said, I think I do those lead. Some people don't. He's borderline. I think he's an elite play, especially in Fantasy Points. He's No. One Aeronado Hight, but he's No. One Aeronado
without course Field. That's how I feel about any good luck in your drafts tonight. We'll need it for Frank Staff or Chris Vencher if everybody downstairs and Greg Sulton thinks so much for watching his fantasybffs, We'll do it all again tomorrow, you hope,
