Hey, Family Secrets. Family, I've got to tell you I am so excited about this new bonus series in which I talked to some of the great minds of our time about past episodes of Family Secrets. A lot of you listened to my conversation with doctor Ghalite Atlas last week, in which we discussed the themes and ideas that came up in the season three episode Bubby and Zada and Grandma and Pa. Galit and I dove into some weighty subjects generational trauma, the meaning of dissociation, can it ever
be healthy? Do we all dissociate sometimes? And the emotional inheritance of long held family secrets. Lots of you also went back and listened to that twenty twenty episode. So I want to let you know about next week's Great Minds conversation, which will be with the brilliant doctor Mark Epstein, writer and psychiatrist, author of my favorite books about the
interface of Buddhism and psychotherapy. Mark and I will be talking about another episode from season three called What's Wrong with Teddy, in which I interviewed David Kazinski, brother of the unibomber Ted Kazinski. We'll be talking about the legacy of family, secrets, shame, mental illness, and ultimately about forgiveness, compassion,
and the power of love over that of violence. If you want to check out What's Wrong with Teddy in advance of next week's deep Dive, you'll find it by going back to our third season wherever you get your podcasts. And remember, we're hard at work on season nine, which will drop in early November. Until then, we'll be offering these great minds conversations every other week. I hope you love them as much as I do.
