As a parent, you will do anything to help your child. You’ll stay up late and get up early. You’ll find a way to make extra money to get them their sports or that music lesson or extra tutoring. But what if it was the colour of their skin that was giving them a disadvantage? Without a doubt, racism exists in Canada. I’ve invited Dr Tomi Mitchell to share her perspective as a black mother, and what she wishes white parents knew. As a mama bear, she has hope that we can create a better future for ALL our children.
