Hello everyone, everywhere. Pastor Bob Thibodeau here. Welcome to the faith based business podcast. Today, we're so blessed you're joining us. You know, we've been discussing how to master the art of faith based storytelling, all in an effort to sharing your faith well while building or growing your business or ministry. All right, now today I want us to look at how you can incorporate your faith as part of the foundation of your business. Let me go ahead and share this screen here.
We'll go ahead and get started today. Amen. Now, it should not be all business or all faith. To be successful, there needs to be a balance in all things. Amen. To be successful, everyone, your employees, your customers, they need to see and understand that you are a professional who holds fast to your faith. Amen. Now, choosing scripture that aligns with your message will help to reinforce the truth that you try sharing.
I mean, select verses that in your presentations that, that will naturally connect to the stories theme. All right? Adding spiritual depth without overpowering the narrative of the story and the scripture should feel like a natural extension of your message and has enhancing the meaning for your, your listeners, not, you know, something that you just added in there because that was the time to put it there. No, it needs to flow, it needs to connect, it needs to, to be real.
Amen. Now, scripture can serve as a guiding light in your story, grounding the lesson in some type of timeless truth. Okay? A reference, specific verses as, as a moral anchor of your narrative. Showing your audience how your faith provides reliable guidance and strengthens the message with spiritual authority, all while sharing the information that you want them to receive concerning your products, your services, whatever it is the, the point of your presentation is about.
Now the important part to remember is you are not preaching during these presentations, okay? This is not a church service. All right? I, I'll usually, personally, I'll usually insert a scripture reference as a gentle way to, to make a point and, and help reinforce that I'm, you know, looking at this situation through my faith as well as through the business lens. Now, to accomplish this type of balance, all scripture should flow with your story to avoid disrupting the pace.
And when integrated thoughtfully, purposefully, the scripture will add value without overshading your message. Aim for that natural fit. Okay, let me say that again. Aim for a natural fit that the. How can I say this, Lord? A natural fit that will let the verse support the story's meaning. That's what I'm trying to get to.
It'll create that harmonious blend that feels genuine and powerful if Your intended audience thinks you're simply inserting the scripture reference as a way of making them feel good, or, you know, if they follow you or you're trying to condemn them if they don't follow you, that they don't fall in line with your storytelling, then you're doing it for the wrong purpose because it's all about how they feel about it.
Your storytelling, as we've already said, becomes more meaningful when it is linked to real life situations, real life applications, real life experiences. Share how the tips and the techniques that you're sharing have helped you in difficult times, difficult situations. That. It is during these examples that you will also be able to make reference to your faith and giving a scripture reference that, that you may have held on to in tough times.
Do not, folks, do not try to emphasize the importance of the scripture reference as if you're preaching on a Sunday morning. No, no, no, no. It's simply a way to help your audience understand the importance of your faith in your business and that you're not afraid to, to. To share and bear it all, the good, the bad, the ugly with them. And encourage your listeners to ponder how your story applies to them.
Okay. When you share stories that resonate to someone personally, it will open up a space for them to reflect on their own experiences. It makes the story more interactive, more meaningful. When you share brief glimpses of your faith while telling these stories, it adds the element of credibility to your stories as well. Okay. It's not something they'll be able to tell. It's not something you just made up because you wanted to do this presentation.
It helps to bring your audience emotionally into the story and tying them emotionally to the product or service that you're discussing. That's what you're trying to get to. When you can engage someone's emotions into their purchasing decisions. You've covered about 80% of the buying decision making process right there. Okay. That's where I'm going to leave it at for today. Amen. Amen. And we'll be picking up again there next time. Once again, I want to encourage you.
