Okay, so we are here to talk about every Plate now. Every plate is America's best value meal kit. While most meal kits come with a premium price tag, every plate offers delicious dinners that won't break the bank. Every plate has quality ingredients. They come carefully packed and pre portioned, helping you save money and reduce food waste, like that bag of mixed greens you throughout almost every week. I
know I do. As a result, every plate is twenty five percent cheaper than grocery shopping, making it the easiest way to eat a quarter. And think of it this way, one meal from every plate is about the same price as one cup of coffee, and probably cheaper than that pumpkin pie latte or whatever it is you like. I eat compleat spice lots. Anyway, it's cheaper than that, including my favorite, the griddled onion burgers with creamy dijon aoli
and frites. It's an easy to serve, thirty five minute meal, and I can tell you I cooked it on my grill and it was one of the best burgers I've ever had in my entire life. Get started with every plate for just a dollar seventy nine per meal by going to every plate dot com and entering the code eyes up here one seventy nine. That's eyes up here one seventy nine. There are a lot of meal kits out there, but none of them are as good as every plate and definitely not as low as a dollar
seventy nine. So please go to everyplate dot com and enter the code eyes up here one seventy nine, that's eyes up here one seven nine, and tell them that Francine from Eyes up Here sentia. All right, well, let's get back in here on creative control the Eyes up Here flashback sitting down through the vast Patreon database that have at bringing forward a great topic. We're gonna look at some scandals both Hollywood and I believe we're you can talk about wrestling on this one. This was a
This is an early Patreon release. But we do love ourselves some celebrity scandals. Love a good scandal again. I am so invested in the Johnny and Amber story right now. Some of them just grab you, you know, and some people I care about, some people I couldn't care less about. So you know, we discuss who we think are the top dogs, the top scandals of a was it the
decade or this is all time, No, this is going back. Yeah, this could be the whole gamut of Hollywood, and Hollywood is We've talked about this on Eyes of Here, We've done it on the extras. Hollywood is one twisted freaking place. Like it makes. It makes even wrestling sometimes look like it's like romper room because it's so it can be like it's just you know, we're not talking. I don't even think on this when we talk about you know, like the weird like sex scandals, you know, the casting couch,
you know, the Illuminati tie ins, all that crap. But it's something about Hollywood just brings out some weird ass people. And is it the fame, the money, what is you know?
I don't know. I kind of feel like there are a lot of people in positions of power who have corrupt minds and feel like that they can manipulate people to do certain things, and then they get off on it just for their own pleasure, you know what I'm saying, Like, if you want a certain role, you have to do something like this or and if you want that role bad enough, you know, and I've talked about me before being told by you know, upper management to squirt oil
on my boobs and walk into Vince's office and lean into them and I was like, hell, no, I'm not gonna do that. So, you know, I guess it depends on number one, how badly you want something, but number two, where you're morale sets in and some people don't care and other people do. And I think that's why Hollywood is so strange, and certain people make it and certain people don't. And as time goes on and more people
feel comfortable to start sharing more. And there's other stories and documentary you seem to bring out a lot of this stuff. We're just gonna find out more and more. But currently it's funny ties into how we're like, you know, obsessed with the Amber, heard Johnny Depp, drama trial, drama, suing case, whatever you want to say. It's it's just it's crazy. Hollywood just seems to invest it. So we
look at some celebrity scandals from back in the day. Okay, well, I'm looking forward to re listening to this again and we hope everybody listening enjoys it as well. So with that, enjoy the show. All right, getting back in here on Patreon the Eyes up Here Extra, just coming off of an awesome show that we did for the regular podcast world, but now coming in here to the family, to the Patreon family. For this week, we're gonna talk some scandals. Of course you know who I am. I am Chad, And of course you know who my little friend over here is to the to the other side of me, it's the CW Queen of Extreme francying here on the Extra Eyes up Here. I'm your little friend today, that's Cure. Say
hello to my little friend. That's great. Appreciate it. Yeah, So scandals, scandals in what realm are we talking? Are we talking about? Last week? We talked about comedy, So we talked about stand up comedy, We talked about television comedy. We talked about comedy and wrestling scandals as a whole. I think the public in general always gets into a scandal, whether it's like you know, Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky, whether it's the president right now and what they're talking
about with Russia, or we talked about in wrestling. We just came off this whole discussion about Tessa Blanchard. Where do you kind of fall when there's stuff like this brewing in different Let's let's start with pop culture, because you're big into pop culture. Yeah, I am. I I hate to admit it. I like a good scandal. You know which one I followed close was Joey buttafuco Amy Fisher.
I watched every Maid for TV movie about them, followed them. Yeah, Like, I don't think we had much social media now, we didn't have any kind of like you had to listen to the radio or read the paper or whatever it was on entertainment tonight, yeah, Howard Stern. That was one that I followed, And to this day, I can't understand how Mary Joe befriended Amy after this whole thing happened. Somebody shoots you in the face and then you forgive them and you're friends with them, or they sleep with
your husband and they shoot you in the face. How about that and then you forgive them. I don't know. I don't think money. Wasn't what money, I don't know, book deals, you know, interviews, well, I don't know. I just heard that they she forgave her and welcomed her back and into I don't know, crazy stuff like I don't think that I could be able to turn the other cheek. I mean, our religion says, well, my religion
says you should turn the other cheek. But something like that is a little too much for for even me to forgive. Uh. You know, It's but watching it unfold and all the craziness that went along with the story, it's like, is this real life or is this just drama for television? You know? But it was real life and it's crazy, But it became like it was drama for television. And at that time, specifically, you had the Buttafuco stuff, but he also had the Tanya Harding Nancy
Carrigan stuff. She's another one. It was like, but it was like competing. It was like WCW and WWF it wars. Yeah. And I look at Tanya Harding now because she's she's still trying to be out there doing things Like I watch Food Network and I watch was she on Worst Cooks in America? I think that's the show she was on. That's one of my favorite shows. And she she seems like such a nice lady. But I'm like, she tried to like kill, like break the kneecaps of another person.
Like I know her husband was involved at the time, but even still, that's crazy. Like I would never like being a performer. I would never say to myself, I'm gonna go out there and I'm going to intentionally hurt someone so i can move up the ladder more and she'll be out of the pan. I've never ever intentionally hurt somebody. The only time I have ever stiffed someone is if I got stiffed first, right, And that was rare. It has happened, but it was rare, and we'll leave
it at that. And you can use your imagination. But thinking about, you know, people intentionally hurting other people and on such a huge platform, how are you going to get away with it? That's another thing, like did she really think she was just gonna walk off Scott free? I don't know, but I enjoyed. I enjoy a good scandal, not gonna lie. I don't like to see people heard, obviously, but you know, watching it unfold in the aftermath is
intriguing to me. Yeah, you always wanted those the lifetime movies that would come after those kinds of scandals, right, like how you're saying about the Joey Bodafuco thing. There's like nine hundred movies that. Yeah, I watched mostly all of them because I said, well, this pe probably has a different point of view than this one. So I'm gonna compare the two because one had to listen Milano as Amy Fisher. I forget what the other one was, because I think all three major networks had a movie
about it. There was I just watched the movie recently. It was an older movie. Oh it's okay. So for our horror movie buffs out there, it's a movie called Society. Okay, it's way twisted, way messed up. I don't think you'd like it. But so those you know, looking up the actresses in the movie, which is all you do now when you watch a movie is you're on your phone looking at where where have I seen this person before?
And this one model who I don't know if she was a playmate or something earlier in her career she transitioned to acting. She played Amy Fisher in one of the Amy Fischer movies. I was like, that is so random, like this b movie and she played Amy Fisher. So there you go, tie it into another one. I know. But there's a lot of a lot of scandals out there. There's there's stuff that I don't even know existed. My husband he reads, uh it's a lawyer. I don't know
what the site is called. But he's a lawyer. But he has inside in film people, and he puts up blind hints, crazy days and nights that might be it. Yeah, OK, so he puts up the blind and then like four weeks later he'll be blind items and then you can get together. Yeah. Well that's pretty smart because it makes you keep coming back to the site to see who it was. Yeah. So that's how he gets his views, but I get hot because I'm like, well, who the hell is this guy and how does he know everything
about everyone? Oh, there was one I just saw that was revealed over you know, over that span where we talked about a couple of weeks ago when we were talking about music. Actually that was really early when we
started Patreon and I mentioned the movie Body Double. I mentioned that in some realm the actor from Body Double like stumbled into a scandal, like seeing somebody doing something inappropriate and then was buried because of it, And like that's the kind of stuff anything related to Hollywood, I'm all on board because Hollywood is such a fucked up place that you see some of the stuff that goes on there behind the scenes, and you always say, what
happened to this guy? Where did this guy go? You know? Yeah, and crazy days and nights. The blind items, Man, if you can piece them together, you get yourself one hell of a puzzle. Yeah, because he had showed me. I'm really into the beauty community. Like I watch so many YouTubers and they do makeup tutorials and they're in you know, they make makeup and there's a lot of war within that community. They get they go at it. This YouTuber goes after this YouTuber. And there's one YouTuber that I
really really like. His name is Jeffrey Starr and he is a gay man and he's been living with a younger guy for like five years. It's his boyfriend and they just broke up. And I was telling my husband, I said, oh, I'm so sad Jeffrey start and his boyfriend broke up and he sticks his phone in my face and it's that crazy days and Nights sight. Yeah, it was a blind item and it said this guy is so sick of living a lie. Apparently he's not
gay and he just did it for the money. Oh wow, but it was a five year relationship and I'm like, come on, how does he know that? But it was on that was one of the blind items. It was, and then it came out as it was Jeffrey Starr and Ethan whatever his name was. But yeah, put he knows everything about everyone, apparently, this lawyer guy. So I don't know how he finds it out. But yeah, you can do a whole show about those topics because there's
a million of them. Every week something comes down. The scandal with the colleges, I am so Lori Laughlin and oh yeah, oh yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely, Becky does not belong in jail. Oh can you imagine? Oh Man just picked slaught her in the Orange is the new Black right, And you see she looks horrible nowadays. Have you haven't seen her since this all started? So when this first started, she was fresh faced, beautiful. I just saw a picture
of her yesterday. She looks like she's been through the mill, haggard as all hell. She's timeless. She looked the same as she did in nineteen nineties. She's beautiful, beautiful, but she's got the weight of the world on her shoulder. She's in jail. She might be in jail for I don't even know how many more years. I'll have to check with the lawyer, because I'm sure he'll tell me. But you know, that's something that I was just like, how was he Backy in jail? What did she do?
You know that no one is safe, especially like you said, in Hollywood. It's it's there's a lot of things that that people think that they can get away with because of their status, but no one's safe. See that didn't bother me that one. The admission scandal, it didn't bother me. Really, it didn't bother me, because I mean, people with money. Oh wow, Oh, I'm so shocked that they would pay and and uh deceive to uh well to get ahead.
Oh I'm really I'm really surprised you that our kids are working their asses off in school and doing it the right way. But then somebody rich comes along and their kid can just get into an Ivy league college. That doesn't bother you. It didn't bother me, It really didn't.
It didn't. And I don't know if I'm desensitized to certain things because of not being around rich kids growing up, but being around people who had a certain level of privilege, you know, and knowing that they could get things done because whoever they were related to had money and they got some per It just didn't. It didn't rock me in a way that it rocked a lot of people. I don't know. Maybe it's just because I'm still in a kind of a sheltered world when it comes to
where my kids are at. But I think because your kids are still so young too, Yeah, maybe maybe that's it. I just look at the big picture and I'm just like, I'm thinking of my children and being in high school, working their asses off to try and if they want to go to college, I'm not going to force them. But if that's what the path they choose, they really
have to work hard at it. Whereas, oh, this bitch has a million dollars laying around, I'm just gonna let my daughter go to an IVY school and pay somebody let her in. But how about like the effort they went to to like stage the pictures, like that's that's craftsmanship there. It might be craftsmanship, but it's it's still dishonest, and it's still shitty. And you know, money talks, and unfortunately for us that do not have as much money as they have, we have to work hard. So yeah,
you're right, No, you're right. I agree with you on that, that's for sure. But that just didn't bother me. Now, I mentioned it on the regular episode when we're talking about Tessa Blancherd and we'll get to wrestling in a
minute here. But Major League Baseball's got a scandal presently about cheating and competitive advantage and cameras being installed and a system devised where guys are banging trash cans with bats or now there's rumors of buzzing system, either on an Apple watch or maybe like a pad or something on a chest that had a wire in it that buzzed when a certain pitch was going to come, so you knew what to expect. And guys have lost their jobs.
And the Mets three weeks out from spring training had to fire their manager who they just hired because he was named in the document that was given to Major League or given by Major League Baseball to all the teams saying he was a part of the scheme. And that's the only group that was involved was the Mets, or no, see, the Mets weren't involved. It was the Houston Astros and possibly the Boston Red Sox, and they're saying some other teams as well. But the Astros in
twenty seventeen won the World Series. They were unhittable or they were unstoppable. They were hitting like ridiculously. Their pitchers had, you know, their best stuff ever, and one of their guys won the MVP. It was insane. But now it's coming out there wearing possible buzzers and Apple watches that you know would vibrate when a fastball's coming, you know what to come, boom, hit the ball. Oh yeah, so both teams involved, Like, were they each other hints? No?
So so was the Astros had this really like sophisticated system set up where they had the center field camera, which is what is you know, broadcasted during the game. They had a feed for that outside the dugout basically in the tunnel or something, and somebody would be relaying what was gonna be thrown. So the catcher throws down at two. Okay, curveball, right, buzz one two for curveball,
don't swing, you know what I mean, like something like that. Yes, So the Major League Baseball's Commissioner's office came up with this huge document to say, you know, this is who was involved with it, this is who participated in it, and they named the Mets manager who they just hired. Wow, you had to step down because of all the stuff going on, and it's like we're three weeks out from the season that's gonna start spring training and now my
team doesn't have a manager. Well, why would you put yourself in that position when you just got a good job. Why would this he step down? He stepped down to take the heat off of the organization. So since the Mets were not involved with it, and he was on that team in twenty seventeen, He's like, well, I'm just gonna step away so you guys don't have to hear the bullshit and make it a distraction for the rest of the year. And it sucks because you know, I
was looking forward to him leading the team. But it comes in all shapes and sizes quickly. We'll move over to wrestling. So we talked about Tessa at length on the On the Regular podcast, but in this one, I mean wrestling scandals. Hello, the ring boy scandal from the early nineties. Do you remember that, Holy shit, when wrestling was on Donahue and Larry King and oh my god, I mean me being ten eleven years old and my dad, you know, telling me like this is a terrible business
that you love. And the ring Boy scandal was that former WWF ring announcer Mel Phillips, who I don't you if you didn't watch any probably I didn't watch. No. He had a he had a thing for young men, right and the ring crew, and basically they would they would bring on teens and younger kids kind of with like, you know, no direction mentor them, but they would be part of the quote cream team and they use these
kids and it was a huge thing. It was they and it exposed a whole whirlwind of other possible propositioning that was going on throughout the company. Terry Garvin, who was an agent at the time, was fired because of if Pat Patterson stepped down as assistant booker to Vince because well he was He left for a few years because he was named in it. And uh yeah, mel Phillips has never been seen again in the business. But
this was huge. Wait a minute, So these young kids were being bored in because it's w w F, who was bigger than w w F A ninety one, and they all aspired to be wrestlers, but they had to be on ring crew and then not necessarily wrestlers, just kids that were basically quote given jobs to be on So they're on ring crew, but they had to perform sexual acts to the men to stay on ring crew. I don't know if it was to stay on the ring crew, but they were forced to perform I've heard life.
If you ever have some time, you're going on your flight, you want to throw on a YouTube video, watch the Phil Donahue that Vince is on and a bunch of the guys and then it just it really just like we talked about with Tessa, was a snowball effect. All these other things started coming to light. Didn't Vence deny it or Vince said, you know, obviously he was in
privitus to things. They let go, They let go of the you know, the the ring announcer, they let go of the executives that were involved, and they're you know, actively investigating, you know, but also piggybacked the steroid scandal. Yeah, I remember that. Yeah, Well, to my knowledge even today, there are people who are exempt from it, and there are people who will be tested every day of their life. Yeah, it's it's a pick and choose. It's who's in with
the office and who isn't. That's my opinion. I don't know, because you know, usually you don't see the guys that are super duper over getting pinched for anything, right, And that looked tremendous, you know what I mean. Yeah, So, uh, that whole scandal, well that was in the early nineties. It was really you know, it was based off of hul Cogan, you know, and it was hul Cogan was on Ourcinio Hall. They said, hey, did you take steroids? And he said, you know, look, I took them, but
I took them when it was legal. And that was when the investigation into doctor Zaharian, who was the Hershey Pennsylvania. He would write you to scripts for whatever whatever you need. Doctor Zaharian was the one who took care of business. And it just again it's snowball fell into the time
of the ring Boy scandal. And you know, it's a miracle that they made it to those Monday night wars because I'm shocked they didn't get forced to shut down at one point in the nineties because they were getting crushed. The Ringwoy scandal sounds like the Catholic church scandal with it. It really multiple You're right, yes, you're absolutely, But that's what it reminds me of, right, and that we didn't even talk. We just talked about the pop culture and
sports wrestling. But that's like you know, for Catholics. For me, it's the ultimately that turns my stomach to the point that I have literally besides that, I mean, there's other factors, but now I have been, you know, a Catholic my whole life, and now I'm questioning what I want to do religion wise, because of everything that's going down in the church. Like if you just stop and look at all the scandals and look at how our pope is handling things, it literally makes my stomach turn. And at
first I was all about this new pope. I was like, Oh, he's he's cool, you know, he gets it, he's hip, and he used to be a balancer and blah blah blah. And the more I find out about this pope, the more I dislike him, and the more I do not want to be associated with the church. Yeah, I agree, I'm not a big fact period. Yeah. It makes me so sad because going to church for me was somewhere where I felt good. When I left, it gave me a sense of not so much pride, but it just
gave me a sense of calmness. It made me feel good about myself. And now I don't even want to be a part of the Catholic Church. Like I'm reevaluating. I always have my faith, but I can't see myself going back to that church. So I have I'm right now, I guess I'm non denominational. I'm still gonna get my kids all the sacraments in the Church, because let's face it, if we meet our maker and everything is true, I want them to be protected, you know what, I you
they're like France scene. You didn't take care of your children. Your child's not confirmed your child. No, I'm getting all the sacraments for my kids and I'll let them decide what they want to be when they're older. But right now I'm really struggling with do I go back to the Catholic Church or do I look for something else to follow because the scandals are outrageous. Yeah, it's dropping in in Catholicism these days, and it just makes you wonder,
like why did I follow it all these years? Just I say with that, just keep your faith and do you do you? You know, yeah you do? And let the other stuff be its own entity, and uh, you know it's a shame, but you got to turn your blinders on and bring the shades down and just do you you know, you worry about what's going to get you through it, and you still have a belief you believe it? I do, I do. I just I like I like being a part of something that I believe in,
and I did believe in the Catholic Church. And now I'm just like, there's a lot of stuff going on. What do I do? So, you know, I really have to think about it. But really ended heavy? Geez you really? Yeah, well it's a scandal. Yeah, it was real. It was really like a heavy one. That's a scandal. Yeah, okay, so my last one. Yeah, Matt Hardy and Edge and Leada, do you remember that one? Let's end on it. I
remember that, of course, I remember that. Actually. I remember in two thousand and six when I worked for WWE that time, I was in catering and Amy Lyda came and sat down next to me and we were just talking amongst each other, and I was like, you know, how you are you feeling these days? And she's just like, it's rough, and she she told me she's like, man, she goes that people are relentless around here, and she was feeling the wrath, you know, And I was just like,
I can't even imagine. So you put yourself in that predicament. I understand that, but it's like it's heavy stuff, you know, and it's not like people do it all the time and nobody sees it because you know, men cheat on their wives or people have affairs or whatever. This was a real life situation that was brought into a storyline for a world to see. So it was really I've already got fired over it. In the whole nine yards.
It was insane. I know, I know, it's that's something that should have been left in private in my opinion, But you know, people, you know, yeah, you give give a tip of a cap that they can all work together. That's crazy. It's difficult. Uh, you know, it's it's difficult when you're in front of a crowd. Like for me, I took it with a grain of salt because the things that they chanted I knew weren't true. I never was a crack where I never had herpes. I didn't
have HIV like thank god. You know, but when you're a public figure like Leita and you're being you know, people are saying that stuff to you and it's true, that has a different effect on you. Because how do you think she felt being out there and having to be ridiculed for twenty minutes straight? Yeah, that's that's hard. You know, it's it's a hard pill to swallow. And god, I mean she she did it with grace, she handled it.
But and as we know, sometimes We've said it a million times with fans can't always designate between the real life and the storyline. Legit edge of heel and on TV, this happens, Matt Hardy legit a baby face on TV gets fired. Yeah, you know over Yeah, that's what I'm saying. It's like you get your heat as a heel. I loved being but can you imagine it? Everything is true and you're just you know, you're a woman and people are belittling you when you have to take it. Yeah.
Oh I couldn't even imagine it. So, yeah, that that was a bad one. And I felt so a bit from that because not such a good guy. Yeah, such a nice guy. So yeah, oh wow, that's a good topic today. What do we miss here? Come on, drop us some other scandals. Doesn't have to be wrestling related. Just for our Patreon subscribers, our Patreon peeps, you know, drop us a line here on the bottom.
