He didn't respond, So who does of will call it? He's taken it on, so we won't tea. We'll tease that later. We'll talk about it later. A lot of things were what three days away from the big game? Yeah, big game, another big game. Look, you know, I think that it's Arizona did what needed to do to get

here. They're three and one. Regardless of what you think of the game last week, or you know, against Stanford, they're three and one. Washington's coming here. It should be fun. It should be fun for how long we'll see right from three? Seven? Yeah? Well look here here's the thing again. You can you can always expect the unexpected. Right, There's no reason for you to believe that Arizona is going to go out there

and and and and put it to Washington. But that's what makes it like okay, because at least you think they can if certain things break their way. It's not it's not hopeless to for them to be playing Washington this week like it has been for the last few years, and when a team like Washington comes in question, right, if you're gonna put it in those terms, yes, yeah, yeah, that's what I'm saying. I mean, you feel like Arizona's got the guys where if all everything falls into place,

they can win this game. I'm not sitting here thinking that they will. I in fact, I'm thinking, you know, they could probably probably gonna lose by two or three touchdowns. But I think that I'm gonna walk into the stadium thinking, you know, let's see what happens. So I'll ask you, what's the number one thing that has to happen for them to win on Saturday has to happen. They got to get off to a good start. Okay, I think Pennis has to finally come down to earth and have

his first bad game. Yeah, okay, mine was kind of well the offense. The offense has to prove what it used to do is capable now they could do it, now they can't. They can't come out with three empty possessions at the start of the game, right, And he talked to well, he was asked about it. Yeah, and it's concerning, but he he says, I'm not looking at that, but yeah, he's probably

has to do. But they can't do that. They can't come you know, they can't be scoreless at the end of the first quarter because you figured that the Washington's gonna have at least fourteen points, could very easily here. Yeah, so you know, you gotta come out scoring with Washington from the get go. Can't have a Mississippi State type start. They do Mississippi State, they'll get blown out by fifty. You can't do that. They gotta

have no turnovers. But I think more the biggest thing is that they've the offense has to get off to a good start and feel like they can stay in the game even right, they have to look and feel like they can stay in the game even if if Washington is going off putting points on the board, They're gonna put points in my Michael, I'm still you know,

I've been saying all summer. I think Michael Pennox is the better quarterback, the best quarterback in the Pac twelve, and I think Washington's the best team in the Pac twelve. And I still believe that. I'm not gonna argue with you. Yeah, I'll argue at the end of the year because I don't I don't know. They surely looked at it. They've looked apart for sure, and not tell you what you know? Again, this is you

know, I don't know. Fans are gonna be pissed at me for saying this, but I'm looking forward to seeing how good Washington is in person. I want to see these guys play. I've seen bits of their games. Uh, you know, during in these first few weeks, i haven't sat down and watched a game, but I've seen, you know, portions of games, And every time I see my Cael panics throw. I'm like, he's the best round. And to be fair, they haven't really played anybody.

They have, not save Michigan State given their situation. They just lost their coach, so he had been suspended at that time, so they were kind of disarray. We'll see. They played a better schedule kind of maybe than Arizona. But when you're that good, you really don't know how good you are if you haven't played anybody, and you know, and they're gonna be some people out the three because they you know, there's still a lot of people who don't think Arizona is all that good. Say, even if

they beat Arizona, we still don't know. I totally agree, you know, until they play a USC or an Oregon or a Utah or somebody like that. But damn, they look good so far. I saw. I saw a bunch of the game against Michigan State and they were just abusing them. And let's understand, Michigan State is an eleven and a half point dog to Iowa, which didn't score last week. He doesn't know how to score. Yeah, well, that team is just I think Penn State is leg

they are legit. Somebody I saw it somebody you know posted there, you know, their their ballot for AP and has them number one. I can't rest first place, couldn't you? You could probably make a case for a number of number ones. Yeah, I think you can make a case for Washington number one. I think a couple of people have done. Yeah, so you know Washington. You know, people are gonna it's Georgia obviously until somebody beats them or something. They Georgia hasn't looked unbeatable the way they did

last year. You know, Alabama obviously is not there. Uh, you know, Ohio State should have lost on Saturday, so they're not there. So, you know, it's a little more open this year, I think than it has been. Yeah, No, it should be fun and funny weekend. Let's talk about our show real quick. We're gonna have some fun again with Boomer. Yeah, big game Boomer. He's coming on. He's

uh, he's got what in his uh one of his posts. He's got Washington on an upset, a serious upset alert, along with a couple of other teams. You got, you got Texas, he's got Georgia, he's got Clemson, a couple of others Tennessee at TCU, Texas and m So we'll see why he thinks Washington is an upset alert. You know, probably excuse me, probably just because Washington has to come here and they never play well in Arizona. Well, that's that's a factor, and that's another factor.

That's what I thought. I was scared about Stanford last week because there was never placed no matter how good they are, right and they and they and they kind of laid an egg until they didn't. And once again I submit that most years, in a lot of years with a lot of Arizona teams would have lost that game. Yeah, right when everything was going wrong. Guys were getting hurt, their quarterback was playing like crap, the other

team was playing out of it's you know what. Uh, those games often add up to a loss for Arizona, and somehow they you know, I did my homework. I went and watched the fourth quarter, Like you said, I didn't. I didn't see anything noticing. Yes, they played better, you know with the feed at quarterback. Yeah, they moved the ball, they were crisper and stuff like that. I don't know if it was

because of more energy. I think it was more because feet to win in there and got the ball out of his hands the way you would expect Jane Delora to do, and he didn't. So they just you know, yes, the offense looked a bit crisper, you know, in his hands. Now could he do that against Washington? Uh? You know, could he do that again? Was he able to do that because Stanford ran out of

gas, you know, with airs on his depth? I don't know, or maybe more maybe that the play calls were so simple and quick that they they gave it Okay, here's some simple stuff that we know you could do. Let's get it done. And where Delora makes it things more complicated,

whether he likes it or not. Right? What what? What I watched when on the PAC twelve and sixty, you know, where they just showed the play quick and and just you know, I picked it up like it was late second quarter, and you know, I just kept watching Dolora take a snap, back up, back up, back up, scramble, thrown away, and but it was like he would take the snap and he wasn't

finding anybody. It's not like he didn't have he had time. I think I talked about this with you a couple of weeks, more than a couple of weeks about six weeks ago, how the analogy would cur and uh and Delora. We're kind of like you really liked them, but then you don't when you get into these situations because you can't get freeze. And then sometimes he does, you fall in love with him again, and then all of a sudden he doesn't do it anymore. It's kind of like a love hate

relationship, frustrating to watch without frustrating to watch. And the thing is you hold hope that he's going to show up right, and then he doesn't, and then he doesn't does right, and then he doesn't and you lose the Princeton or you lose to Washington State at home almost to Stanford or Mississippi State. You have the same type of person where God, we wish or you know, I'm talking about his fans and we wish that he would play well

and then you see glimpses and then no, it doesn't happen. You know, because when you see what Mississippi State has done, Arizona should have won that game. Arizona was the better team. As it turns out, I think Arizona was the better team. They should be four and oh and because of that crapass first quarter. They lost that game and they they now you think about it, they should not have lost that game. No, you

know, if he doesn't do that, they don't lose. They win that game and they're four and oh may be ranked and this is a great game. Instead it's a seven o'clock game on pac pub Network, a great game. That's the same game because nothing really tries right. It's just kind of and visually it looks like better. What changes is as as as Sammy said, you wonder if you know Delora can't do you know, can't do what

he did against Mississippi State. Do you think that's a possibility that he's been coming to throw three picks in the first quarter, and you think that's a

reasonable possibility. Well, if he struggles early. If he struggles early, there's there's gonna be some concern he'll have to get Yang, don't you think No, I don't think so. If if you do Laura doesn't come out and play well early, yeah, just because I mean you saw him not play well early against Misissippi State and he was one of the reasons why they were able to come back. I get that. But his resume to this point game five, if he continues the same mistakes, just they gotta make

it. He's got to make a change. I think the only way do Laura comes out of the game if he starts, if he comes out of the game, is if Jed feels like the ankle is bothering him and causing him to play poorly. And I don't I think if they're down early big fourteen seventeen zero that eventually you have to make a change. But he won't know until we know. But you just said it in comparing him to Kirk Creasea. I mean, yeah, but Dommy Lloyd went to the map for

find somebody else? What are they gonna do that? I mean, that's that's one of the things now that that's that's come up with the fact that Arizona will be in the Big twelve next year. What do you do with a non conference game that you have scheduled against a Big twelve team? Yeah, so a lot of questions ask I think you should ask me your band store. I'm gonna definitely ask him the band things that Dave, you need to get the band going. I have one about this Weekends or this Friday's

sub Red Blue game. A lot of concerns about it not meaning TELEVI streamed. What's up with that? You know? The fans? worst college football teams. Now I did see that it's all Power five teams, right, it's not yeah, power five only, So like schools like you Math, right, Ball State, they're not on there. Okay, Well, first all you need to clarify that top twenty five worst and said power five only subjects to change. Okay, So, but but that's not what that's not what we want to join. We you know, it's a big game for Arizona this week. So, uh, you got Washington on

serious we said serious upset alert. So after a week after putting Arizona is one of the top twenty five worst teams, now you've got You've got them an upset alert. What's the thought process there? Well, so, yeah, I've got that top twenty five worst college football team with stuff. And I had Arizona at twenty four. And the only reason I had them on there was because I had to put Mississippi State somewhere in there after they had

just gotten annihilated by LSU. And so if I was gonna put Mississippi State on the list, I can't. I can't. I had to put Arizona because they lost the Mississippi State. Okay, So that's my thought process there. You know, I think Arizona. Arizona has done everything that I thought Arizona would do, except I thought they would beat Mississippi State in Starkville, and they almost did. They almost overcame those turnovers and almost did so.

Washington coming into town. There's a history of Washington teams playing bad in Arizona. I mean, go back to last year Arizona State beat Washington. Now this this Washington team is scary. They're averaging about forty five points a game. Michael Pennocks Junior is the front runner of the for the Heisman right now, and I mean their offense is scary. And now Jayden Delora, I mean, you guys know probably mean what's the status on him? Is he

gonna play? We don't know yet. We don't know yet. My guesses that he will, but we don't know yet. Yeah, yeah, and we don't know if we're gonna know to Mark tomorrow is is is jet fishes, you know, pre pregame press conference, and so I don't know they're even gonna sause anything tomorrow. Yeah, my guests would probably be a game time decision just based on the injury. I mean to me, like, I hope the Lord can play because this is the first time I think Washington

plays against an offense that can score. I mean they, I mean Michigan State, cal Boise State, none of those teams can score on offense. Arizona can do that. They've got some good guys on the outside, cowing uh tight end McLaughlin. I mean, there's a bunch of different guys. So that's why I have them on serious Upsettler because of the history of Washington teams going down the Arizona. And also, I think Arizon's offense, if

the Laura is healthy, can score some points. Yeah, and I like and I like his backup better than I do the Laura right now, because the offense that you're referring to hasn't really been the offense we're used to. They haven't really put up a lot of points to haven't played anybody test test one two three, Test one two three, Hey, welcome back. I guess we're on. We lost a lot of power here for about four or five minutes. I guess I Can anybody hear Victor? Yeah, says he

can hear so, okay, cool, Cool. Let's try to get Boomer back on because he just said, what's happened? Yeah, and well, well he says no, Victor. Victor says we're not on. Well again, and you know, the belief that it could or should be there, you know, right right, you're well, you're you're betting that it's going to show up and and it hasn't. Okay, Okay, just kind of crazy. That's the first thing that's happened. Yeah, just everything blipped out here. Let him call that. So if we hear his you

see his thing text right now. Yeah, but uh, you know, I again trying to win this year. You know, just a belief that you think that offense is going to show up. And if it does, then Arizona has got a chance. But again, if it doesn't, and again it hasn't been there. The offense hasn't been what we expected in the first four games. If it doesn't show, they're not gonna win, right right. And that's kind of what I was gonna tell them, Because you

talked about the offensive. I get that. I get that. I think people who are not close to the situation don't know that don't realize that that that it hasn't been what it what it's supposed to be. But you know,

I don't know. Uh, you just gotta think that it'll click at some point, right, maybe not Well, if Dolora continues to do his inconsistent right, it's not gonna click right, And it's going to depend on what you know, what his uh what the injury, you know, if the if the ankle's gonna bother him to the point that he can't play, you know, do what he normally does, then it's gonna be a problem. We were good, We were good, so we'll see. I think

the defense, no one talks about the defense is holding that team. I don't know if think capable, I don't know who who's capable of? There you go of you know, Iffen, if the offense doesn't, if the offense doesn't have it, there you go. Okay, is this on the air? HiT's all on the air. If the defense doesn't hold, which of course is important, that's strike one, And if the offense doesn't move, that's strike two. I don't know what strike three would be, but

it's not gonna be good. Well, again, the conversation we had yesterday was it, Yeah, I don't know, give me his number, will give me his number real quick. Well, you know what, let's do this. But I mean, if Laura is healthy, I mean, he's such a boom er bus kind of guy. I mean you see some brilliant in him and then you see sometimes where he's like, what was he thinking? Why did he throw to that guy?

Exactly? Yeah. Well, so I mean the thing that the thing of it is is that Washington's gonna come in here and score some points. So you just know that, yep. And so you know, I mean I said yesterday that if Arizona can keep him under thirty, they have a chance. But I don't. I don't know that Arizona can keep him under thirty. I mean, those guys, as you said, they're scary good. Yeah, I don't know if anyone in the country can keep them under

thirty. Right now, I mean, I think the two best teams in college football right now on this day, or Washington and Penn State, those are the two teams that are playing the best football in the country. So it's gonna be tough for Arizona to get the W. But I mean, I was high on this team in the off season for Arizona, and I still believe that the offense can get going. So John, let me ask you, what's it going to take you for you to come and visit us

in Tucsons. I say that you went to New Mexico State, my alma mater. If you yeah, if if you can go to CUSS, you can go. I'm gonna come out there for a basketball game. Oh yeah, he wants he wants a Cavard. I got to check out McHale. I've heard McHale is one of the best venues out there for basketball. So I've been to a lot of places. That's one of the few places I haven't been to. So I got to check out the Kale. You're gonna pick a good to pick a good game, because there's plenty of them.

Yeah, there's a whole lot of them. You also talked about something on your list about the student sections, and you play at Arizona as one of the better louder student sections. Are you just talking about this possibility for this weekend UH Student Section. So yeah, I do ranking Student Section rankings UH

for for the prior week, like I do that every Monday. But I think the stadium is going to be pretty I do my PET projecting Loudest and Quietest stadiing for the upcoming week, and I think that Arizona Stadium could be pretty loud if if they can get a big crowd in there. I mean it's a it's a big game number. What's Washington ranked seven? Yeah, I mean they should be ranked much higher than that. So I think it'll

be a good crowd on on a Saturday night. Well, I think there's a little bit of a I feel like there's a little bit of buzz around town for the game because, you know, as we're saying, you know before we got you on that, this is it's been a long time since there's been a team like this. It's come to town where we actually thought Arizona could play with them even a little bit, you know. I mean it's been so it's been so hopeless for so many years that you feel like,

okay, we you know, you got somebody's coming in. I don't think they're gonna win, but as certain things fall a certain way. You know, maybe they're in it and and it's been a while since there's there's been that chance. So so let me let you know, John, that the students here are very fickle. It's a great place. It should be about one hundred degrees ninety five degrees probably Saturday, and by halftime if half of them are here, we're lucky. Because they don't stay. They don't

still. I can tell you, Like on on Saturdays, I get students to send me pictures of student sections, like all across the country. So if it is empty, someone will let me know, and you may end up on the bad side of the list on on Monday. You know what, I'll let you know. I'll let you know because I'm down on those guys because I hate that. I hate it when they leave it. I hate it when they leave it half time. I'm gonna know you guy, And our student section does it all the time too. It ticks me off.

Well, if it's a good game, they'll stay, but if it's a blowout one way or the other, they'll leave the Yeah they're going drink. Yeah. Yeah. Plus I hate our band. By the way, I love you, man, but your Sooner's pissed me off last week because they didn't cover by half a point. Sorry. Sorry, Well they're they're not that good. They're pretty pretty. I

don't know. I mean Cincinnati, they played they played kind of subpargains Cincinnati last week. We'll see they play Texas in two weeks, so we'll know. We'll know. Then I'll give you the question of the year, what about Colorado? What are your impressions? Well, I mean it seems like everywhere you go everyone's talking about Colorado. I've lived right next to Boulder for

like three and a half years, and nobody cared about that school. Uh, it's like two fourteen through two thousand and seventeen when they were terrible. I mean, I like it because Dion Standers. Whether you love him or hate him, he's bringing more eyeballs to watch college football games, and that's all I care about. And so I like Deon Sanders. I think he's you know, he's he's trying to change, be different, and I think people don't like that, and sometimes, uh, you know, you gotta

just accept the criticism. It's always going to be there. So I think what he's doing is great for college football. A lot of people don't agree

with that, but I think it's good. Yeah, No, it's It's funny, you say, because I've been I kind of been up and down on him, depending on what what was the last thing he said, you know, and I liked it. This week, you know, he talked about this one player, highly recruited guy who's obviously not out there performing, and somebody asked him about him, yeah, and said what about him? And he said, guy's got a show and he's not showing. Yeah,

now he's he's He'll tell you exactly what he's thinking. And that's what I love about him. He doesn't hold anything back and just I mean it's it's insane. I can I cannot imagine being a student at the University of Colorado right now. But I mean you got little Wayne throughing a pregame concert like the Rocks on the sideline. I mean it's just crazy. Yeah, Hollywood, Hollywood, Baby, you gotta beat Hollywood and those exactly and those clicks.

So no, as we head into the kind of the tougher parts of the back twelve, who do you think is the favorite to win it? Jay and I have this bet from a while back. I picked you a Sea from the start. He went with Washington. I'm not sure I liked my pick anymore, but I have to stick with it. Yeah, I mean, right now, you gotta go with Washington. I mean, they look they're scary. Oregon obviously looked very good against Colorado. Oregon State.

I wouldn't count out. I'm actually going up to the Oregon State Utah game this weekend, flying out there tomorrow. But you know, Utah is has not been impressive without came rising. I mean their offense, they just can't get it going. So I mean I would say Washington and Oregon right now are the two best teams in the conference. USC, I just yes, Caleb Williams, Yes, that offense is great, but the defense, I mean there there was a one score game against Arizona State in the third quarter

last week. I mean, A State's terrible. I think, h I'm not sold on USC and they're they're back into the schedules ridiculous. Yeah, they're my right now, They're my fourth place team in the league. I've got Washington Oregon, I've got I like Utah because they're four no without Cam Rice. They're going to get him back at some point. And then I've got USC after that. And again for the same reason you did. You ASU is awful and a SU hung with him for a good part of the

game last week. Yeah, I mean completely. I mean Fresno State smoked Arizona State the week before, so there's definitely problems on that defense. And I think they're gonna lose a couple of games, either in the Pac twelve or two other dame. Uh, you know, before the end of the season. How do you make your decisions on where to go? If you're going to go see the Oregon State UTAG game this weekend? Why that one?

I have a lot of Oregon State followers surprisingly, and I just I've always wanted I've never been to I've been to Corvallis before, but never for an actual game. And they just got that stadium renovated. I want to come back up there and check that out. You bien, wait, you will get you get What are the requisites of going to Corvellis is cow tipping? So bring your boots? You know you know that right? Well? No, I went out. I actually went with the with the you know,

family trips to go see, uh go to Cannon Beach. I don't know if you guys have been out there on the coast, and we also went, you know, kind of drove around the state, checked out Oregon State, Oregon. So well, Corvellis is not way to go for a game. Corvelis is not on the beach sun. It's just not. I

love finding places like Morvallis, Oregon to enjoy watching a football game. I went there twenty three straight years and the best dining place was a walk you all right, Well, I'm there for a couple of days, so I'll have to challenge you on that and be some good spots. And for whatever reason, it's like you take some kind of pill before you come about this, and you're gonna talk about football and you get happy and then you leave and you say okay, okay, or shows up because you have if you I'm being honest with you, you don't. We talk about this on the show. If you use the same CRITI here you do for like Oregon State that you you would use for Arizona. Oregan State would be gangbusters. But you see this, you see things differently with those eyes of

years. You know you do. I you know, Steve, You're you're right, because you know what I'm I'm a fan. In the end, I'm a fan and I'm looking for the best. You know that there is okay. Whereas I see Oregon State, I'm like, they sack exactly exactly, and they're pretty darn good. They are good. They're pretty good, but they're not as good as everybody thinks. Okay this week weekend, it's that it's at Oregon. It's that it's in Oregon. So if Camera Rising

plays, I think they will. But I don't know that he's gonna play. I haven't. But if you think, okay, I just don't think Oregon is that good, Steve, No, they I saw them struggle with San Diego State. I think it's because they don't know Utah, because Utah's Utah. You just sit there, the fourth best team in the league, the third best team. Yeah, even I think they're better than USC. So how do you what's your logic? Their toughness? Yeah, but you're gonna take Oregon State to put the kiss of death though?

Geez, Okay, because Steve, I'm like four out of winning or something like that. So when you were telling Big Game Boomer, you had all these things, this this big game. His numbers are not good. They're not good. His resume is not that good. I'm six, I'm six wins and fourteen losses. Steve, I'm well aware. I'm so I'm taking Oregon State all right, thinking that I you know, I the Utah should win, Utah should cover. But I'm taking Oregon State because I've been wrong

season. It's a favorite. You say yes, yeah. I think it's just because the uncertainty with Cam Rising. If Rising plays, it's probably an even line, maybe Utah one or two. They're not that bad with the guy they have, Nate Johnson. He's been playing well and they're defenses. I think I think they're gonna make a mess. I just don't He's he does not take You're gonna take a take the short You're taking the opposite of what I think you know exact when last second feel. But it won't matter

if you're taking anything that Jay says you're doing. I maybe I may do that thing. I may go five five games, pick who I think is going to cover those games, and then take the opposite. I'm at that point already, and we're four weeks into the season. Five weeks now,

this is the fifth week.
