world. Yeah, it's still kind of I'm sure. You know. As Dodger fan, you go to the World Series, it's takes a minute for you to Yeah. Really, Now I'm Dodger fan. We go all the time, right, it's second just another day once every it's been twenty two years years. I was one and a half. Last interesting you and Eversona went to the last Final four. Yeah? Really, so he does what I've he's but no, a great game you win to in Philly, Okay going into Philly, Yeah game, going into Game six, you're like,

we're just happy to be here. Sure, So I was at Game four and Game five. Game four tied, the series was amazing, one of the best games I've been to. Game five got absolutely crushed. And you go, you just think, all right, you gotta you gotta just win two in a row. We we just won too in a row at home. Sure, we've won eighty four games all year, We've won two in a row. Many times. You just gotta go to Philly win two games.

But the bank Citizens Bank Park has been the best atmosphere in baseball all postseason, and I think it showed a lot about the character in that team and the way Tory Lavella manages his team. It did, it really did, because they just went in there and you know, they just I'm not going to say there was no doubt because you know, I mean, the games were the games were good, but you just it didn't look like the Diamondbacks were not the best team on the field. Like it was a It

was a great match for you know, both teams. You know, I mean, yes, the you know the Phillies have They've got Trey Turner and and Bryce Harper and all that, but you know, it was the field that I got when I went to Game three of the Division Series up up there. You know, I knew Arizona, I knew the Diamonbacks. I mean, the Dodgers had the best players, but looking at them on the field, they didn't look like the best team on the field that day.

Yeah, and I think it speaks volumes to how mature these diamondback players have been in just one year. You have guys that a couple of rookies. Brandon Fought, who started Game seven, was in the minors a couple of months ago. He was a rookie. Corbyn Carroll three hits, two stolen bases in RBI and two runs last night is gonna win Rookie of the Year. And not to say could tell Martees a seasoned veteran, but he's an older guy for this team, and he's still a younger player in the MLB.

And to go and play in that atmosphere, obviously, it's every kid's dream until it becomes a reality. And now it happened for them, and it's a yeah, if you were to we made the playoffs by one game, one game, yeah, and now we're sitting waiting for Game one of the World Series. It's it's a as a diamondback fan. I know, impartial here, but it's it's unbelievable. Yeah, that's pretty cool. Hello,

yawn, give him all the credit. Funny because you're talking about, you know, a couple of stats there, but our buddy Jack mcgrude posted a stat the Diamondbacks are the eighth team in Major League history to make the playoffs despite a nine game losing streak in the regular season. I remember that

losing streak. It was a losing streak at the time. The Dodgers went on a huge winning streak and flipped the standings, you know, right after the All Star Break, and they they people on fire, Tory Lavallo. At that time, people were definitely thinking about it. But I think the ownership and management in which we have, they've they've seen Tory coach really good teams in the last the last three years, this team has not been equipped

with the talent to win baseball games. That's not Tory Levella's fault. Sure, the skid after the All Star Break, it's it's baseball. There's gonna be swings, obviously, you see it now where sometimes the teams with the best players don't always win the game well, especially in baseball, especially in baseball, you know, I mean, baseball is you know, because in basketball, you know, there's there's always a belief, you know, and I'm talking NBA. You know, in the NBA, there's always a belief

that the best team wins a series. Sure, right, you know, and that's what that does. You know, in football, you know, yeah, you know, a team can upset somebody, but you know, again, relatively predictable. Yeah, But baseball is a game where you know, an entire team can get hot, right and and or it can go completely cold, like the nine game loses us. You know, you're not that bad, but yet you're that bad for that period of times. Exactly that And the same thing, you know, do I do I think the

Diamondbacks are the best team in the Nation League. No, and I don't think anybody does. But yet you get hot at the right time and you go, you know, you know, talk about the you know, the ninety seven Arizona basketball team got hot at the right time. They weren't the best, they weren't the best team in the Pac twelve, and they weren't even one of Loot's best teams, right, yeah, these only team that won national championship and that's what we're all sports fans. But that's what makes

sports awesome. It's like you have series is where the Diamondbacks weren't the best team against the Brewers, they weren't the best team against the Dodgers, weren't the best team against the Phillies, and it's they still prevailed over a seven game series or five game series. And in like March Madness, for example, you can get hot for three games, like a Saint Peter's did that one year. They're they're obviously not better than what Kentucky was on the basketball

floor, but it's it's only one game. Yeah, you do that one exactly. For baseball, you have to show up every single game or your your season is going to be over. And so I mean, it's it's credit. It's a Tory Lavella, who has been in the gutter. People did one his they wanted his head, they wanted him fired, and now you look at him spraying champagne with his team, and that's it's a fun moment. And I'm sure those guys, I mean, they've never played in

the World Series. I think the only guy that has is Eva Longoria. Yeah, and again it's another good baseball team over in Texas, and we'll see what happens. We'll see, well, well you will talk about that a little bit more. We got Bob Kemp from Phoenix. Uh. Uh what's the show called the The sport Zone ten sixty in Phoenix. Uh,

he's a he's a host of that, so he'll join us. We'll talk some some d back stuff when he gets on in the here, after the after the after the break, and then uh, in the second hour, we've got Adrian Denny, uh, the TV play by play and uh, communications guy for the Tucson Roadrunners. They're off to a three and one start. They won last night, so uh, you know they're they're a little bit into the season. So we thought we'll get get up in touch with

him. So, okay, got your computer problem solve for now. Another one's getting fixed. So all right, I'm happy, happy today, tired but happy you sound tired. Come and get them sleep. Okay, gotta well, you slept through this last segment so far. You take attle that burned down Phoenix, so that you wouldn't That's what I'm thinking. So it's Philadelphia that you gotta worry about getting burned down. This new found Diamondback fans

are crazy. So I'd been saying it for a while, but when the Suns made their finals run in twenty twenty one, Devin Booker was our best player, Chris Paul was the VET and then eight and in a bunch of good role players. There's this there's a similar feel to this Diamondbacks team where there's no granted, I'll get some slack, but there's no true superstar on this team. Right, there's no Carroll maybe, but he's not yet.

He's twenty three years old. Yeah. Man, it's unbelievable. And so similarly to that Sun's team, it's the expectations where things have to go their way, like you got to play good basketball and they got hot, and similarly the Diamondbacks things have been going their way because they've been playing good and it's just it's that same vibe and you can feel it down in Phoenix. But you know, but now with this being the Rangers, who look,

the Diamondbacks were six seed, the Rangers were five seed. You know, they barely got into right, So this is I think a very evenly matched series. Or if it was the Rangers and the Braves or the Rangers and the Dodgers, you'd say that, you know, the Rangers are up against her. Or if it was the Diamondbacks against you know, the Astros or or even the Orioles, you'd say, Nah, you know, something's gotta you know, there's gotta be something weird. It's got to happen, right.

This is a very evenly matched serious Neither of these teams won their divisions. They both were wild cards, a five seed and six seed. This is even as they can get. And I think that's what's gonna make this series watchable for the fans that don't have a stake in either. You know what people are saying, Oh, you know what a boring series. You know, the Rangers of the it's the World Series. I agree, it's

the world freaking Series. Whoever's in it, it's the World Series. And it doesn't matter just because it's not La or Atlanta or you know, the Phillies or the Yankees or whoever. It's the World Series. Yeah, and if you're a sports fan, you should be refreshed with this. The Diamondbacks haven't been there in twenty two years. The Rangers, it's been a while for them. They've been through their peaks and valleys, just like the Dbacks

haven't. The last thing I wanted to do was watch another Astros Phillies or an Astros Dodgers nose like the last That's the last thing I want to do. I've seen that for the last four or five years. I hear you. And it's not to say just because the Diamondbacks are there, but the Rangers are a great story. Yeah as well. They have a they paid their guys, and they they're in the spot where they expected to be at the beginning of the year, maybe the Diamondbacks. So you know what the

odds were to win the World Series one five to one? Did you do you see? Somebody posted on one of the what are the other sports books? Posted today that they had a better we bet two leg parlay Diamondbacks and Rangers when before the season put fifty bucks on. Oh, that's gonna be a ptronomical seventy five thousand dollars fifty bucks. Yep, that's huge. Now, come on, certainly that guy's bet fifty bucks another really stupid stuff like

that, But I'm guessing he's not lost seventy five thousand dollars. No plays off for all those stupid bets. Yeah, he's more than caught up when we hitting one of those, when you make one, I don't make those bets. No, we're two guys, Yeah we are. We missed. I've never heard that two foot Yeah we did. We made we bet those two foot We bet those. We bet. We bet like multi leg parlays on you know, minus four hundred. We're the only thing that could go

wrong is the bus doesn't get there. Well the bus and yeah, breakdown right right? Yeah? I had one over the weekend. Man, you had two couple days ago? Well who blew? Who blew one for him? Well? Yeah, two days ago? I well, I had the I had the Astros in the Phillies, the Phillies in Game six, Astros Game seven, same day, and and I lost that, but two of three? Who lost? God? Who lost for me? The other day? An NFL game? Uh? The Rams? I had the Rams, but I had him, But I had him, I had him in a

in a in a three teamer in the three team money. It was that they kept they cut their almost the work because we're the kicker, which he deserves team and I was like, he's not on the team anymore. Again, Ray picked up, Lucas Havestick. Yeah, yesterday, that's good. Yeah, I know, like log on, I'm like, man, I need to go to the waiver wire. Yeah. So man, this thing, this thing with Michigan keeps heating up. Steve, They're in big trouble.

I see that. And the funny thing about it, I was listening to sports talk shows today, which of course makes me crazy, but they were talking about the act of doing. What they did is probably wrong, but people do this all the time. Still signs all the time. They do all the time. Just the way they went about it, the way, yeah, the way they did it broke the rules, yeah, the optics as well. The conversation now only got a couple minutes. But the

conversation now is when or who is going to do something about it. Because the NC double A cannot the NCUABLEA even if they were to issue a notice of infraction today Washington, Michigan's got ninety days to respond to it. That after the season five years one, right, but but just to get the process going, even if the NC double A has already decided they want to punish them, Michigan's got ninety days to file an appeal or to respond.

The season's over by that, so nothing, the NC Double A can't do anything. So the question is what's the Big ten going to do because they've got thirteen other teams or who are pissed off that Michigan is doing this and they're looking at the at the Big Ten saying, wait, do you represent Michigan or do you represent all of us? And should you do something? And that's the The Big Ten is in a spot right now with a new commissioner. So, uh, interesting thing. You know, nothing har Ball

will be coaching that some NFL team by the time this gets fixed. Uh, it's gonna be a long time. Okay, Sean was already coming gone. He's already coming gone by the time he had the A issue was going through their issue. Now when who's who's right? This is just how it is is yet No, I agree with no. But see that's on the n C Double A side. I'm saying the Big ten is also is also good. The Big Ten also has the responsibility to make sure teams follow the

rules. They can do something, and they're saying if they can do something, are they are they going to do something? Or you're saying, well, you know, god, why would we punish a conference team that can be in the national Championship. Well, it's it's tough because it's still looking as though like that what was his name, the guy, the guy that was using the Navy and right worked his way up to it looks as though he was at all those games or bought in all the Oh he's yeah,

he got people to go to those games. Right. And so now it's like, does the Big the Big twelve, or the Big ten, Big ten, or the NCAA want to, like you mentioned, crackdown on this now and establish like Michigan is probably going to be in the right playoff? Do they want to do this now? And if they don't have enough quote unquote evidence to do so, they they may may wait. Yeah, I don't know, man, but they're in a tough spot. They're in a

I've got my sister who's like, you know, she's a huge Diamondbacks fan, and she's actually upset at herself because she's only got one Diamondback shirt that she can wear. Right now. I've got plenty. So like growing up, we got the purple. That's the best color Backs have worn.

But I got plenty of those. Yeah, So some people are saying that they should they should wear the the purple with the vest man bring those back for the series. I don't know. I think, what's not broke, don't fix it. Well there's that too, definitely, don't get me wrong. I love those jerseys. But yeah, hey what what Scott? You're there? Yeah exactly. So anyway, so we're waiting for Bob to give

us a buzz here. Hopefully calls them just a second, but I don't know, you know, hopefully they get some game, you know, at least three games in Phoenix to see what happens. I hope I'm going to game three. Got tickets for you. It's me and my dad and I were sitting in whatever whatever seat will hold us. Yeah, are you guys season ticket holders? No, we used to be for the tickets. We

bought them early. Kind of one of those things where if they don't make it then okay, like one of those where we're going all right, man, very cool, good for you for you. I saw ESPN do a little thing. It's down to three points for this weekend. So I think more people are believing in Arizona than than before. trending towards Arizona. If I'm not gonna touch the game, but if I would bet Arizona, I would bet Arizona take the points or go money line on it. Yeah, because you know they're good. I think the money line is play. Yeah, you get about one hundred and forty one hundred and forty probably plus one forty tween plus one forty and plus one sixty five. So yeah, well, what about the Diamondbacks. They're one seventy five minus one seventy five. No, no, they're plus something. Well I'm

sorry, put plus one plus plus one. I I uh, I don't know if I take that. That's not a bad play. I mean, again, you know, there's good as there's good as the Rangers. Yeah, you know again, as we said Mennico, you know, neither team is you know, they didn't win their divisions and they weren't one of the top teams in the leagues or anything like that. They just got into the playoffs and got hot. The Rangers really damn good too, So it's very

it's very similar teams. So the Diamondbacks being plus money is not bad. So I went to I'm not. I'm not a Diamondback fan. I'm not whatever. So this summer I went to see him play, but I didn't see them play. I went to see the Baltimore Orioles because I had Baltimore and Little Bold. It's Arizona to be in the in the in the Oh, that's right, you had the Orioles, didn't you. Yeah, but I okay with the Orioles all seon Yeah, no, they're they're young too.

Yeah, those T teams. Now, did you have to win the World Series or no? Just the game, just the bet you had made with the Dodgers the league. Yeah, yeah, Okay, I hope he's calling us. He knew that we're gonna call. Don't give him try, Yeah, you might want to try try, okay. So, and then we have we have Roadrunners. We haven't had Adrian. And while yeah, they're there, their season started, so that the season started. Yeah,

the road Runner season started there three and one. They played last night here in town and they got they won two to one, and so they've got two games this weekend here at the Arena. So that's why I thought would be a good time to talk to Adrian and see what you okay, but uh, you know what's going on with those guys? Okay, so oh no, no, no, we'll just win here. Yeah, that's that's been the case for a while now. Yeah. So but yeah, they're

you know, they're they're off to a pretty decent start. You know, we had the you know, we had the Coyotes president on a while back. So maybe talk a little hockey here? Are you hockey dude? I mean you're you're a soccer guy. No, I'm a golf golf, big basketball, football. I mean, because it's said, who who's the hockey guy? Sid's Sid's not hockey's Kevin's a hockey. Yeah, yeah, Kevin's

a hockey. I mean, I think it's exciting. Who take these kids to school today and you know, and take these kids, bring your sons to school today. Somebody in this somebody who's been in this room recently is a hockey Okay, somebody one of them is a hockey guy. No, I don't mind it. I think it's really fun to watch. It's just with the NBA and the World Series, like it's probably third or fourth on

my watching well. I would say after they one last night, I was with some people I have seen Phoenix in the next few months is pretty not literally hot, it's gonna be super hot. So yeah, the World Series here, it's gonna be October November, right, and then a few months they have the Final Four. Yeah. Yeah, it's gonna be a nice little thank here for the Phoenix area. Yeah, and the Super Bowl last

year. Super Bowl last year in a nice run. Actually that it just got word today today you I am going to be needed for the Packed Off tournament. I will be working this year. I'll be working the Packed Off tournament. I just didn't know. Well now, I didn't know if they were gonna, you know, cut the staff or anything like that, you know, because of all the all the stuff going on. So I did get confirmation I'll be working PAC twelve. It's not about this year, it's

about next year. Well, this is you know, this is the last Hurrah, right, You've been the last round the blaze of glory. You know, I don't need any more blazes of glory. I really don't. You have no I might not even have any left. You know. You can light a match to me and nothing is going to happen. Picture, all the flame is gone. Man, It's all gone. It's all gone but no. So yeah, I'll be able to work the packed off tournament in March and and then we'll be doing the Final four up in Phoenix,

which should be a lot of fun. Yeah, I'm really looking forward to that. My last assignment to the last Final four wasn't great, so I'm hoping to get a better assignment, would you? Last time? Well, I was what was called a floor photo marshal, which meant I was in charge of making sure like the photographers were in their boxes and stuff like that. The problem with it was is that my seat during the games was on the actual floor, so I could not see the game on the race floor

because I was behind the photographer. Do you and you face which way? Like I can face the floor, but I'm in a corner. Sure, I'm in a corner, in a corner where the benches are right in that. Sure, but because but I'm sitting behind the photographers and so I can't see past them to see the games. Saw, So I said we had

we have the executive director of the new one. I guess right, yes, So I My complaint was, it's it's one area when the party somewhere else, Yeah, right, not like not like San Antonio, it's all in one spot. So I had the seats, the media seats on the end zone away and there were seventy two thousand people. That to me, it wasn't that a great venue. There's too many people. And I'll tell you what against sitting where I sat, and I could tell that the front row seats, the first three or four rows, you know, probably the most expensive sleep behind the benches. They can't see because the players stand up and you can't see because your your eyes are at floor level. Once they get up, you can't see. That's why you want to be about ten fifteen rows up right to

see if they have right right. And then I took I took the elevator to go up to the upper deck, you know, the highest seats. Yeah, to see what the court looks like. It's a stamp, Yeah, holy cow, you can't How can you possibly see the ball? Yeah, it's a stamp, or see if somebody lets it go that it might go in or right. Well, that's why you have the big yeah, and you watch it on the screen that's how I watch the games. I might as well be at home. I watched them on the screen. Again.

You know the conation I keep hearing one, how can they

start any anybody but norf fol fida two. I got people wishing I would quit saying that dj Uyungalley isn't any good because I've been wrong and everything else. So but you know, I think I think the game this week it shapes up to how if Arizona could stop the run against Oregon State because they're they're a good running team and making DJ beat them, then I think that gives them the best shot because I think he's you know, he's been good.

He's been good at times, but he hasn't been great, and he's certainly not been the guy clems and thought he was going to be. Yeah, we'll see what happens. Because he was listed as one of the top quarterbacks in the conference, right right right he was. He was in the conversation with with with all those guys with panics and with with Kleb Williams with camera. He was listed in that conversation among the elite quarterbacks coming out of the PAC twelve. Now, look there, what are they six one?

Yeah they've only lost one game. Yeah they're six and one, so they're pretty good. But he hasn't been great, you know, certainly every still and they're still six and one. That means they're good in a lot of other places. They've got a good defense, they're running, That's what I'm saying. You know on Arizona's had a good showing a good run defense all season long. So if if if they can you know, disrupt their running game and make make Ungalley beat them, then you know, plus their backfield

has been good, the defensive back backfield has been good. So you know, look, I'm not you know, I'm not. This isn't rocket science. I mean everybody, you know, most coaches will say, well, you stopped the run first, and we'll see if that's what they do well because Oregon State's really gonna try and bully you of a. That's what they've done the whole year, the ground everybody, and so it'll be interesting.

The last three games you as looked good. In the last three games they've played, they've played more of like, quote unquote the air raid offense right Washington. They love to throw it, just sling it. But it's weird because kind of didn't throw for a touchdown. They ran, They ran for touchdowns and then Caleb Williams was able to run. Yeah, we can just hear Steve type. We can hear Steve. This is why I'm tired.

I have a lot of craft. Okay, okay, so this I think this would be a real test for you vain to see in the trenches, especially defensive. Can they stop or at least try and stop the run to make DJ throw the ball. I feel like this is the biggest we don't know what's gonna happen in games of the season for Arizona. Right last week to last week was and then they passed that test with flying close. I guess you're right right away, but I know this is how you feel.

They could have a twenty point leading. Your shoe is still not comfortable, but last week you must have been comfortable at some point early and not until the second half. No, not really, you know, because here's why. Because of that first drive that Washington State put up. I thought, at any moment, they can do that again and do that, and they scored really quickly, and I think, come on the field and scored fast

a couple of times. It wasn't until the second half when they when they added a score that I thought, Okay, Washington State's not moving the ball. They're not, you know, they haven't moved the ball since and the announcers help with that rything. Washington State hadn't done anything since the first drive. And I'm like, you're right, they haven't done anything since drive, you know, and so and so that's the way it it it played out.

But you know, again, you're an Arizona fan. You're never comfortable, you know with the thing that we laugh We all we're always laughing about the the twenty thirteen Oregon game when Arizona was up like forty two to six or something like that, and we thought all we had done was piss off Oregon and they're still gonna come back and win this game, and it was like forty two to something, you know, and it was it was never closed. I think he just called me. So there we are there,

Okay, here we go, Bob camp coming up. Hey, Bob is a shoe. Sorry about that. So we were gonna call the cops and say, you know, can somebody find Bob might name is not a bad idea? Probably? How that? Well? Are you just kind of too happy to celebrate for the Diamondbacks? Are? What's going on with this with the Dimon Back? I have no idea how the gay bank is is going on there? It's been it's been pretty pretty magical. Well, you know,

I mean, who saw this coming? Bob, right? I mean, uh, you know, they they barely I don't want to say they sneak in, but they barely get into the playoffs. You know, they got the Dodgers in front of them, and and and then they do this. You know what, what's the the whole feel for that? I mean,

why do we think this is happening? Actually, I was less surprised about the Dodgers series than any of the three they played thus far, because I just think the Dodgers were not good at this point of the year. They lost too many pitchers, starting pitchers, especially really their offense after you got I mean those first three or four guys are really tough, but after you get past that, I think the week the lineup was kind of weak.

So I wasn't that shock that they actually beat them. Uh And looking back now, I wasn't that surprised about Milwaukee or as a surprised, you know, Woodriff going down with the injury, that was a big deal for them, But the fact that they won basically for the last five games to beat Philadelphia, to me was most surprising. Yeah, but you know, we talked about how young there maybe like these guys probably don't even know any

better than than to just go in and do do what they're doing. But you know, toy Lavala has to be given a lot of credit for pulling this team together and and and you know, keeping them going. Especially we just talked a little bit ago about that nine game losing streak earlier in the year one. It all could have been lost at that point, and somehow it wasn't. It could have been lost a few pints a few different times.

Actually, I think that Levello has done an excellent job. I also think make Mike Hagan has done a really good job putting his team again. Other you know, the off season trade. I know there are some people around here that were upset that they traded var Show. I wasn't a big bar Show fan when he was here. He obviously had a not good season at all in Toronto. I knew who Gabriel Moreno was because I know I watched a lot of baseball, but I never imagined, nor do I think

they imagine he was going to be this good this soon. And either the case can be made. I understand Marte won the NLCS MVP or whatever they call that award, and yeah, you can make a case. It's an easy case for him. But yeah, Marino got a lot of key hits. He did a really good job. He's he's become a tremendous defensive catcher. He started this season off not that great defensively, but he's improved.

And so it's that trade was tremendous. The trade deadline moves or the moves that they've made since July thirty first, whether it be seawalld or Tommy sam who had some not so good moments in this last series, but he's got a lot of big hits for them over the years. And then Ryan Thompson who was basically released by Tampa because he wasn't any good. I mean they did any they didn't want to get let let him go. I mean, he had some good moments for them in passed postseasons and years, but they

have led. He was on the street and anybody could have had him. And the fact that they not only got him, but they've gotten him into a place where he's a valuable pitcher in the bullpen. You know, those three moves were tremendous. Did you anytime talk about levelle at any time thought that maybe he wasn't the right guy this year? I'm sorry one more time. At any time this year, did you feel that he was not the right guy during all the troubles. I've never thought since he's been the manager

here that he's not the right guy. I think he's He does a tremendous I mean, he got you know, they gave up. They lost one hundred and whatever it was games three two seasons ago. But when he first took over here, he had a lot more uh, you know, established talent obviously Goldschmid among others. But I thought you did a really good job

putting that team together. Then they had some down years, but you know, they just didn't have any players, quite frankly, And uh, he's always good good as far as just the people person aspect of it, and uh, you know, certainly a good strategical guy. Uh. Now, you know the way baseball works for most organizations now, analytics plays such a role. It's kind of a group effort and they have like a game plan of how they're going to do starting pitchers, relief pitchers, pinch hitters.

It's kind of almost a script. You can't really tell everything that's gonna go on during game. But he's combined his feel for the game and the numerical analytics side of things, and that's worked out well for the organization. So, you know, thinking back to the to the two thousand and one World

Series team, this team is just a polar opposite, right. That team had you know, Randy Johnson, you know, Kurt Shilling, guys like Luis Gonzalez, Mark Grace, those guys, you know, Matt Williams, you know, top players in the league at that time, whereas this team is like, who are these guys with the exception of Zach Gallon, you go, you know who you know, who are these guys? I know, Corbyn Carroll's made a big splash, but he's a rookie. I mean,

so different, yet they're in the same spot. That's true. I mean, it is pretty amazing that that team was needless to stay you know, the you know the third year and the yeah, third or fourth year of the existence of the franchise, winging a World Series. That's pretty unusual in itself, but that worked out well for that group. And you know that that game that team was in, I think more starting pitcher and reliant, you know, the walls just kind of fell into place for them.

This group seems to need to be had complimentary pieces, and that's also happened here. And they've got some guys. Alec Thompa is the best example. I think that a guy that got set back to Triple A looked like, uh, he's a tremendous outfield a gay Bay's ever disputed that when he was up here early in the season, it was you know, he had knocked the bat out of his hand pretty much. I mean, he was a

pretty feeble header. Uh, And they set him down to Triple A, and you know, he came back and was a whole different offensive player. The only thing he did offensively before he got demoted was he could obviously run, and that's just not stealing bases. That's also going from you know,

first to third and second to home. And the fact that this team collectively plays such good defense, and also it is just a tremendous base running team, and you know, those are the two things I think that really kind of showed on the last two games in Philadelphia. That's more like we played during the regular season as opposed to being the home run reliant team right they were in Milwaukee and Dodgers series. That's totally unlike them during the regular season.

It just kind of happened that for ten days or so, they get home runs and that's how they won those games. Yeah, I saw four of those in that one. Any that was not very fun as a Dodger fan though. So, Bob, you've been in Pheenians, Bob, you've been in Phoenix forever. You have a gauge of what the fan base is like. So this team gets here, which is an amazing feat. The Suns get to the finals a couple of years back, which was amazing.

I don't remember the run though, and then the Cardinals went to the Super Bowl I don't know, fourteen, thirteen years ago, whatever it was. Which is the more amazing one? Is it? This one? And the fan bases? Can you talk about the fan base? Well, I think the start of the fan base and then remind me of I forget the first question in a minute, but you know, this is a this is a

Sun's town. I mean, they were obviously here in nineteen sixty eight, and the Cardinals didn't show up to the late eighties, and then the dia Backs in ninety eight. But so you know, just historically, you know, there's no question that this is a Sun's town. I think there was more crazy frenzy. But also when the Suns went to the finals the last time, it was I wouldn't say totally expected, but I mean they were one of the favorites certainly, so that wasn't too surprising. But this is

a I think the Sons are still double one of the lists Diamondbacks. I think there's actually baseball wise, yeah, I think there's a lot of baseball fans in this town that a lot of the baseball fans in this town have migrated either from the Midwest or southern California. Cried frankly, you know, the Dodgers are here. Sometimes at the least of the regular season, you're

not even sure the home team is if you're just listing the audio. Uh. So there's that Cardinals they caught on some but you know, they were still making the transition from playing in Sun Devil Stadium and nobody caring, uh, to playing in Glendale and then people trying to figure out why are they playing in Glendale? Uh? But you know, and that was only the Super Bowl run was only a couple of years after they moved from Tempe Glendale

for the regular season games. So there's that part there. I'm sorry, back to the first. Was the first covered it off? So I know you're not a Betty Man. Wink wink. Who do you pick? Uh what? Who do you have? Who do you have? Who do you have? We got about a minute in the world. Yeah, okay, well I'm gonna write about them yet. Uh So the Dodgers series, where I thought they really had a pretty decent chance to win that, I don't

know how. It's difficult. I mean, I don't really care about home field and baseball, and quite frankly ever really have cared too much about home field baseball. Teams that are in this position deep into the players got to win. They have to win a lot of road games anyway. I think it's just the line up, a depth of the Rangers far more than even the Phillies. I think that this is a big win. This pitches play better defense, also really good defense. As a baseball fan, I'm looking

forward to the series because I like to watch pitching and defense. They're both excelent. The defense. Sure, okay, I think we didn't hear a word you said. We got it.
