Steve Ravera and Jayden Sallins, they have their Eye on the Ball on Tucson Sports State Chef Fox Sports fourteen fifty. Hey, welcome back to Eye on the Ball here on Fox Sports fourteen fifteen. I'm Steve, you're Jays. We've got some breaking news. Smith, just a little bit. This is Eye on the Ball breaking news on Fox Sports fourteen fifty. All right, So I did mention this is gonna be one of my breaking news and I'm

still gonna put it. According to Tom Fournelley two for reporting these quarterback power rank and so Noah Fafida falls in at number six, ahead of the quarterbacks at Florida Florida Florida State, Ohio State in Houston. He's behind Michael Pennix, jayde and Daniels, JJ McCarthy and Michigan Dylan Gabriel Oklahom who's emerged as a Heisman Trophy candidate since the Texas game, and then Drake May who's been

a Heisman Trophy candidate all along, had no Fafita in there. So I don't know what they base all that on, but wow, Caleb Williams is not on the list and probably shouldn't be with the way he's playing right now. I had forgot what you know with Jody Jody uh Ayler brought up at that Cliff Kingsbury. But he is the quarterbacks coach over there. Yeah, no, it makes sense now. And it's not so much for offenses the culprint, but the defenses. But still he's not he's not playing He's always

been able to because of the player. He isn't as as he did against Arizona. He helped, he helped them overcome the shortcomings of the defense, you know, and and he and now he's he's not playing all that great and so you know, man, it's a it's a it's a tough goal for them over there. So that was an interesting one. Okay, here's one. So all these layoffs and stuff that been going on at ESPN. You seen have you seen this news? No? So you know, Disney

is now fi uh fie. You know, they're publicly traded, so they got published financials and stuff all the time now, and the way they were published, the way they were category categorizing their financials, ESPN was just tucked in with all of their other TV assets, so you didn't know how ESPN was doing Disney Channel and you know, the movies, all that stuff,

right, According to this it was they. It says they were lumped in with all of Disney's linear TV and streaming assets and the Disney Media Entertainment. Now they've separated out under Entertainment and Sports, which, according to this article, this is from the Hollywood Reporter, is almost entirely ESPN. Okay, so you're you're gonna tell me they're losing a ton of money. No, last year they had sixteen billion dollars in revenue and profits of two point nine

billion dollars. So what's the big deal? That's the point. That's the point. They're saying, Well, what the hell is going on over there? You made nearly three billion dollars, You had all these layoffs. You wouldn't give the PAC twelve a contract, you know, right? Right? Well, the powers that be must need more money. Are they getting paid at the top and not at the bottom? Yeah, I don't know which. Of course, the bottom is in the millions. Yeah, that makes

no sense. I mean, it just doesn't. Yeah, says most of most of the revenues came from carriage fees, you know, which is you know, cable and stuff like that ten billion dollars advertising revenue of four billion dollars. Are they just projecting because they anticipate people like you and me. Were you specifically not not getting ESPN anymore through through cable systems? I don't

know. I don't know because they're there, because they're still they're still getting still like like they're on YouTube, TV, well YouTube right right right, so that's not maybe not as much as they were getting, you know, from Cocks or the Comcast cable three billion dollars and then they've had these massive layoffs and lended. You know, that's a year that's year to year year last year two yeah, this was this was their sec finally. Yeah,

it makes no sense. It makes no sense. But I'm not the business guy, so it makes no sense. And maybe again, like you said, maybe they're they're projecting that that you know, revenues and stuff are going to go down. But then we're this business and we're small time obviously a local market, and I think athletes are way overpaid. No one needs to make what they make if they're not saving their life. That's just my opinion.

And TV and all these journalists million two ten whatever yeah what why what? Yeah? Why why is Pat McAfee getting paid as much money as he's getting paid if half the come Steve, I've never really listened to Steven A. I mean honestly, I don't. I don't. I don't like you know what I'm saying. I mean, come on, Stephen A is Pat McAfee. He's just loud, different, just different. I don't get it. But it's not my pocket, but that's are taking. But yeah,

no, I mean but what Skip Bayless? They were paying him ten million dollars. I don't get it. I don't really don't get it. To do a show that is terrible and nobody watches, I don't get it, man, I just don't. Yeah. Yeah, So anyway, so I just thought that was really really interesting to see in light of what we've been hearing about, how you know, how bad it is over there and they're they're, they're they're you know again, you know, you couldn't get a

they couldn't get it, get a deal with the PAC twelve. But thinking all along was the lot of money for for for for TV contracts. Yeah, well that clearly not, you know, clearly not. But anyways, all right, this this graphic came out on social media today from Fox College tupes the teams with the most ranked non conference uponts. We'll get to that in a second. We've got a collar higher on the R and I on the ball. Hey, this is Jeff airmer Schmid. Yeah, what's going

on. I was just wonder because I know I'm a little early. I just wanted to see if I can just listen in and whatever and and kind of sit in the waiting room or whatever. You must be bored, no doubt. Okay, it really is. I'm sitting here looking looking at it to be part of the conversation. Go ahead, stick around. Yeah, breaking news. We're just going through some breaking new stuffles down the air here. We're gonna then, but then you're gonna have to stay through it.

I don't need that. I just you get whatever you want to put me on? Well do you want do you want to stay on? You want to call us back? But you know that I can't use I just remember, I just I just got sheets of paper in front of me, the words I can't stay Yeah, every words, I can't. I've got my finger on the dump. I've got my I've got my finger on the dump button as we speak, Right, what do you want to stay on and talk with us? Or do you want to punished? I think you guys

punished me. Didn't put me on for like two months after that. Goddamn they're serious. Well okay, well do you want to stay on and instead of the commercial and the okay? Cool okay, and then whenever you want to throw me on the okay cool? Okay. Well, we were just talking about stuff going on at ESPN. Okay, all these layouts. You you probably know a lot of those those people from No I probably do something some yeah I don't, but they made three billion dollars last year in profits,

and it's like, why are you laying off all these people? Yeah? And why and why wouldn't you give the PAC twelve a contrac if you're if you're making three billion dollars a year, what the heck, let's couch money. Couch money. Yeah, yeah, there's there's so much money in that thing and and all that, all the everything in the n C double A with all the money coming in from TV revenue and stuff. That's that's

a crazy thing. The TV is control and everything now it is, Well, well, we were talking about There was a survey that the Athletic did that came out. The results of it came out yesterday and of the people surveyed, ninety five percent think that TV is controlling all the realignment stuff going on right now. Yeah. I would. I would bet if someone told you to make a bet, I would. I was a betting person, I would so, and I am a betting person. What are your thoughts?

What are your thoughts on Jeff? What are your thoughts and everything that's gone on here? You know, Arizona going to the Big twelve and you know ul USC bailed on the on the conference, all that stuff. I hate it. I because I grew up San Diego kid. I grew up U, c l A, U USC, Arizona. I mean I kind of grew up that way. And it's Oregon. Oregon State is when I

was young. You know, my dad coached at San Diego State and it was kind of the whack and had b y U and San Diego State and then the Pac ten was just great and had you set USC, U c l A, you know, Washington. It was all that and now it's just it's just gone away. The best thing about it, I told someone I said, the best thing about it, I think I think my records I think don't doesn't my records get moved up? Do they do? They want to just you kick out the old records and move up the other ones.

But now Arizona's leaving to the big twelves. I don't know where all that those things go. Well, records, if you have any conference records, I mean, yeah, any conference records that may be it. Those are that's the last of you stay in the record book forever. I might move up in an all conference team standing that's been good. I go from the fifth the fifth guy to the first guy. It's gonna be great. But so I don't know, it's just it's to me, it's it's just

hard because I grew for everybody. But it's just you have your loyalties, you have your teams, you have your rivalries, and then all of a sudden, they just they're gone, and it's just terrible. Or like the biggest, one of the biggest wins of all time with Arizona, and we went and beat Larry Smith on his final year and it was our senior year and we beat Larry Smith and that was a great because we beat USC and that was like that all. I grew up around that whole thing. So

it's it's crazy, it's crazy. Ye. So so well, let's talk to you about about some other stuff we've been talking about the playoff. Are you a baseball fan? I'm not. I mean, I'm a Yankee fan. That it's close as a Candida When we just because we lived in New York, I was gonna say, how you're from San Diego. How the how did you become? I don't know. I don't even think they made the playoffs this year. They didn't. But no, I'm not a baseball

but you're a baseball fan. It's about it, all right, all right? Basketball? Uh No, not a big basketball fan. I am a football. Yeah, I'm just a foot I have a football thing. No you are you? Are you a fan of the teams you coached with or played? Yeah? You know, yeah, No, I'm always that. I always follow those guys. I love it. I coached in Indiana for a year. I love it. Still watch Indiana still like it's still obviously

Arizona. But coaching, I mean when I was at the Jets, I mean people always ask you you know you got you know you got got fired to the Jets. Well we all got fired at the Jets, like it's not but they but I spent five years there. That's more than they spent there any college. And so I'm like, that's on my alma mater. Yeah, and I said, I love to follow the Jets. I think

there. I have some buddies that are you know, we went and visited during the December and the assistant uh GM took us on a tour of tour, introduced my son to all the players. I mean just stuff like that. It's just their great family and uh and I root for him. So it's you, I don't know. And then luckily the other night that they kicked the heck out of Philly and uh yeah, and that should they killed them, but they beat them. So no, that's it. Yeah,

So you like what's going on over there right now? I mean they had a you know, I had a nice game the other night. Yeah. No, I think, yeah, they think the Jets are I think the Jets are great. I think Clint will or the Wilson kids didn't get better and better. He's he's I think there. I wish they had got Aaron Rodgers still, but that that's it was crazy. But yeah, no,

I think that. I think it's like what's happening in Arizona. But I mean they got they've got some really good defensive linemen going and so that's what that's what the Jets started with. And that's what Philadelphia has done. They just have a great up front, you know, five six, seven, eight guys and uh and everyone's you know, Jetfish is doing the same thing. He's they're they're loading up the d line and they're controlling that part of it. And I think that puts them in every game. And uh,

and that's what the Jets do. The Jets are the same way. So how much fun was it coaching at that level or was it? No? It was it was it was, it was. It was great. I love the part of me and I grew up a kid that we used to run down to the Jack Murphy Stadium and get autographs from Lyle l Zato and

Lester Hayes and stuff when they came to town. I was like, I just enjoy that part of it. And then you see, like for me, you see Darrell Reeves and I just would like I would always try to talk with him because he's such a great player, and then you learn that, Wow, he's an unbelievable person, like he's a really good dude, and uh, and you see making friendships like that is awesome. I like that part of it a lot, you know, And I think the camaraderie

of the staff at that's always the same. It's a it's uh, you do you lose a little bit in the NFL. In college, you're always doing functions, You're always doing recruiting dinners. You're always in the NFL. You kind of go to work and you get in, you do and then at the end of the night, you take off and go home. Nobody goes and has a beer together. You don't have recruiting functions, you don't do so you don't do a lot of that. That's the only thing that

was the worst thing about the NFL for me. It's just that part of the that you know, that getting to know a bunch of guys and families and all that stuff. And it's always been such a big thing, which was more of a grind the college side, like you said, with all that other stuff you had to do or or the NFL. What the expectation was, you know, this is this is the NFL. You got to

give before, before the before the portal and all that. I would say, uh, the NF the NFL thing was hard because it's just sold. Like you're seeing your buddies qualifying for bowl games in the college level and you're and you're you're just excited for him, but you're only halfway through your NFL season, so you're like, holy cow, I got to go all the way through February. And you know that that part of it it was a grind. But the part of now, the off season in the college there

is no off season. I feel bad for the guys because they just you have to recruit the portal. If you want to be good, you have to recruit like your normal recruiting. You gotta now, you gotta, you gotta recruit all the way down to the end. And you got to find somebody to give money to your top recruiter. He's gonna leave at the end

of the day. It's just it's just hard as haack. I mean, the great thing is like for Arizona, I mean, you got Dwayna Keena r obviously, but but Johnny Manson's a great not all not only is that he's proven he's a good coach. He's the sucker can recruit now, and he's recruiting from the portal he's recruiting for. He's getting guys that make a difference, and I think that's what's gonna in the long run their defensive line.

I'm jetfish. Probably did it just right. You just kind of you take all your best guys you put you start there, let me and then you go from there. Let me interrupt it really kind of good. Don't save that good stuff for after the break. Okay, So we're we need to take our break right now. So we want to get into the u of a stuff because that's that's why we called you, Jeff, because we know you're good at that. So we're gonnait. We're gonna take our break.

So stand by, uh uh uh, don't hang up, and we'll be right back. Hey, welcome back to my I on the walk here on Fox Sports fourteen fifty. I'm Steve. He's Jake. Now on the phone. We have Jeff Hammersmith. You stayed on going on? I can't stay on? Will you kidding me? What am I out? Are you? Are you staying? Just bored? I was just bored,

so I called in to see if I can get on with you. Just you come to the right places are you? Are you in Colorado? What are you doing? Where you at? We're at Colorado. Yeah, I'm still doing for now. I just got my kids getting them through, getting them through high school. And then, uh, I'm just doing some fundraising stuff for high schools. It's good, it's for right now. It's it's

a heck of a deal. Let me ask them. I get a chance to help out a bunch of guys that say do sales and in Arizona, California, that wherever wherever, I just couldn't you know, get leads. So let me ask you, and I know the circumstances have changed for you life wise. Uh do you do you foresee yourself getting back in the coaching

world. Yeah, I do. You know, I don't know if it's going to be to start with, maybe yeah, I mean, if there was, there's been a couple of ortunities, but we would have had to move and I just didn't feel as far to to whoever was trying to hire me, and and so I I, you know, I don't know, maybe getting into the analyst part of it, but certain schools and obviously Arizona being one of them, but there was there's definitely, you know, some

places we could go that that my son, because he's my daughter, is a senior, but my son would be it would be okay, he'd like to move there too, and I and then it would be a good fit. So yeah, yeah, eventually, yep, I'll get back in. For now, I just taking a little bit of a timeout. So one of the reasons we wanted to talk to you is because, you know, obviously one of the major stories of the season fair Zone is what's going on

with the quarterbacks. But the other big story is the defense. You know, and and and Jed Fish talked about how they were trying to make a big lead defensively, like they made a big lead last year. Offensively, it appears they've done that because the defense has done really good. And certainly, you know from where Steve and I sit, because we're old guys, have been around forever, and you're almost as old as us because you know, we were still pretty young when you were playing. But you know,

you play, I think I'm older. I get I get like dog years or something. I get more years because I've been well through the ring. Yeah eighty five times. Yeah, you did things with your body too that Steve and I could never do. But anyway, you know, nor would want to. But one of the big changes in, you know, on the defenses, the Dwayne Keena's back. He's on the staff. Yeah, you know he's back there. You see him on the sidelines. You see

he's the same Duayn Aquina. He's grayer, but he's the same guy that you know he was when he was coaching. You just give us a little bit about what you think Dwayne Aquina is or what he's about as a coach and what you remember as a player with him. Yeah, I can't I can't say enough about him. I guess he's the best coach I've ever been around, you know, from a from an understanding part of it, from my getting the Plague gets the players, He coaches hard, he expects,

uh you know, he expects the outcome with his players. He's he is, he's I think I've said it before. He's the best around, but he's And it's so great when he got there and and and I'm sure Johnny is the same, Johnny Nansen is getting a chance to be around him, just just having him around, his his attitude, his his positive, his getting after guys, it's everything's great. And I think, uh, I think that's he's all. I've been around a ton of coaches, you know,

whatever, been around and and he's the best. He is, uh the best, and he'd probably be the best head coach at some point. He'd be the He just knows people and he just gets the best out of him. I mean, shoot, he got he made me a good player, So I don't know he could do that. But I guess the question that he's got a chance. But I guess the question is is how you

know what strikes you know what strikes the players? You know, I think you just play so hard for him and you want to you just he cares about you so much, and he yells at you so much, and in which he did a lot with me. Uh but he but he cared, you know, he cares about you a ton. And at the end of the day, you know, when it comes down to one last push or whatever it is, you just give it for him. And he's, uh

yeah, he's just special. And you I'm sure you get this when you talk to Brandon Sanders, Chuck Cecil, you know, all those guys that have ever played for him, and he's just a special person. So and I'm just always so happy because the summer we went back down there and seeing him around and seeing him talk and into the crowd and just having him around him, Him and Donna, they've been great. I mean all that went down with me. You know, they they were there, they were they

were they came to the funeral, the whole thing. So they just been part of my family. But that's how he's everybody. It ain't just me. So that's why he get the best at him. The guy just they kill herself. They killed for him totally, and we covered you guys at that time, and he was one of those guys. To me, he's just one of those guys, one of those guys who relates not so much relates to the kids, but he gets it. And at that level, at this level, it's more about, yeah, you know, I am

who I am, blah blah blah. He's not that dude. He's just not that dude. Yeah. Yeah, Well, he tells the story. He told the story. I think I told this a while back, but it was like he told the story that when we first met him, and then it was the Cecil. I was a freshman. Cecils in there, you know, thinks a bunch of guys were all in there and he was having a DV meeting and he says, he goes, hey, you know,

hey, I'm a Dwayne a Quina. You know, I tried to work on my every once in while, work on my personation of him. But he goes, I'm Dwayne a Quina. I'm doing the DVS. He goes, he goes that I came from Canadian footballs now. I was with coach Tomey in Hawaii and I threw so many and his interceptions as a quarterback at Washington. He goes, he thought I would be a good DV coach.

We just we all just started laughing and the sucker. But but what he did, he's he was great for the distance for you understood what the quarterback's reading. Like. He would sit there and he just points stuff out. Here's what you're reading, here's our recombination, this is what the quarterback's doing. And he would teach the DV room like he was a quarterback. And but just and that was for that room. We needed it. You know when the next room comes with something else. But he finds, you

know, he finds a way with me. I was an idiot pretty much. I would just you know, I could go out there on the field. I couldn't like take tests and all that. So he would he would do a chair drill in the in the hotel before we left the stadium, and he would say it was for everybody, but I know it was for me. But but he would get us in there and go through the checks

and everything, and it was good. We had a you know, we had some we had some guys if we could just line them up right and we played and uh, we did a hell of a job in d lud Would I say the same thing. I mean Todd Burd and all those guys that when he came in, he was just a special and Chuck, I mean, Chuck's the same way, a special person. So it's funny because I think he was there. We talked him a few times before the season started. He said he made Warren Moon. He made Warren Moon because he

was so bad at quarterback. I had to play Warren. Yeah, there's no doubt. Just classic. So he is he is great. He is great. There's some we get stories. We came down and I'm doing this fundraising thing. So now so I'm doing We're at the National Coaches Convention last year and who's one of the first guys to come down is coach a Keina.

So he gets down there and then as as soon as he's standing there in front of his booth, because I'm just kind of grabbing guys getting them on the what we do, they do a podcast, so I'm trying to help the guys out. Hey, Johnny Lynn, jump over there, do the podcast and all this well here comes to and as soon as a Quina got there, the room was packed, get with people are in there.

We're telling stories. I mean, it was classic stuff. I mean just but that's the way he you know, he is and he's just one of those people like he has that way about him. He can he could put a group of guys together if you and UH and Mark if if there's someone you want to march out in front of everybody in your gang, he's the

guy. So if Air you were talking about the defense as whole the work that Johnny Nansen is doing it. Look, I know we're talking about Dwayne A. Kene here, but the whole staff is obviously doing a great job. Yeah, Cecil included all those guys. The defense has made this big leap. You know, as a guy who played defense at Arizona was part of building of you know what the reputation for Arizona was as a defensive UH program that was, you know, proud of his defense. What are you

liking about what you're seeing? Well, I think these days in the portal, it's like the it's like the NFL almost, but it's you. Johnny Manson is a good football coach. He is an amazing recruiter. He does an amazing job with the guys. I just had a chance to watch him a couple of times, going back to like spring ball or going back to whatever, just being around him he's and he's he and a lot of guys would probably have an ego, Hey, you're bringing in duyna Quina, what

do you mean? You know, but he takes in coach a Kena is just those two guys together are amazing. And then you got and then you got Lamont, you got all those guys up front, you got Ricky, you got people just around the program, and then you now you start recruiting like the NFL. I've been around for a little bit. But when you're watch it on TV, when he could tell you the Philadelphia Eagles win so many games because their D line is so good, and you look at you

look at the Jets, the New York Jets. Sala comes in and he's a defensive guy. He fills the defense with the defensive line starting first. And now when you start reading about you start watching games and they start talking about how nine you have nine wrote guys rotating in D line and they started and coach Fish started with a D line. You know, unselfishly, he

could probably start it with a couple offensive guys. But you but you go to the portal, You grab guys, You grab a couple of transfers here and there, and the next thing you know, you're you're kicking ass up front, and then all of a sudden you start leading them. It's like with Teddy, Bruce Ke, Chuck Osborne, all of Jimmy and Hoffin. You start leading the country and in yards per game rushing, and it makes

everything else a little bit easier. And then I think, and just then you got Johnny Nansen in the part of the coaching, but the recruiting part of it, and you're bringing guys into coach at Keina and and letting them just develop guys. It's hard to develop guys during the portal. But I think as a team concept when guys it's hard to get a bunch of guys from all over the place that just came from different places and a guy from Michigan that came from Harball and this and that, and you try to mix

them all together. But somehow jet Fish has got and I'm going to this point now, it's it's going to get better and better because they're starting to play for each other, you know, that's the team thing. I mean, they're starting to play for each other, They're starting to understand each other, They're starting to love Arizona and and and uh and from there. So I think it's good. Yeah. I think one of the things I've learned

in covering all these teams, basketball and football, they're coaching matters. And I think you're talking about that now with with Nansen and Keenan and all the rest of them, you could have the same players and not have the same effect unless they had good coaching. Yeah, there's no doubt. Yeah you're you're one hundred percent correct, but but you got it. But there's some guys that some guys that are hard to coach, some guys that probably couldn't

sit in at certain places. But when you get them to Arizona and then here comes Johnny n Ansen's coaching them, coach a Keena's coaching them, and they're you and and all of a sudden, some guys, some guys can coach anybody. Yeah, And if they don't coach anybody, if they if they can't be coaching, they're not coachable. Then some guys are tough enough to get to get out of a goddamn program and go go transfer somewhere else. But I think just getting the right guys, and it's hard in the

portal because you don't. I'm guessing you know, you totally know. I not have been involved in that as much, but I'm just watching it and teams that just are getting guys from the portal and now right now they're all starting to win games, and all of a sudden, they're starting to turn the tide and and Oregon State's doing good and then this and it's the team with those portal guys. They're starting to get it with each other and start

to play together. And I think that's that's what's making them great. And I think that's what I think getting guys in too Arizona. And I think again, Johnny and Ansen. I know he's on defense. He's as good as they get from doing getting getting and recruiting and hell and doing that, and he's a hell of a coach. And I think it's one of those. I think that's what it is. I think it's guys. They're gonna you get the guys in the family part of it and guys playing for each

other. Uh and later in the season, they're just gonna get better and better. It's gonna be great. Well, Jeff, I wish you would talk more. Kind of shot you guys want to say something. How are you guys doing? Okay, run out of time. Hey, no, I'm out of time. I don't get it about you guys. We just didn't you Little Bill Walton you know I don't. Matter of fact, I tell you what I was babing. Bill Walton was our babysitter when we were kids. Oh god, from yeah, he's a Helix guy. Because he's

a helix. Why he doesn't doesn't Cecil talk this much? No? No, no, he says four words. Well, Alan call Allan Sanders talk more than that. Brandon does. Brandon does? Brandon exactly be a Brandon of the same. We like talking. Okay, Well, thank you, Jeff, Hey Jeff, thanks the whole bunch. Man, you guys, that's fun. Glad you guys got all your words in. Hey, welcome back to on the Ball here. Fox Sports fourteen fifty. I'm Steve. You Jay, you

got eleven minutes to me. If you want to give us a quick call, put us Uh, those stone shows up to what you're thinking. We apologize with death. Amhig it works. I mean we hope it didn't. I think I was quick on the dump button. Yeah, oh you think you got it? I don't know. We love Jeff, he was he was awesome. Called in early because he was just hanging around wanting to shoot the bull and he did, so that's funny. Yeah, we'll take your

calls five two zero four and six seventy four forty. Don't forget to listen to the podcast we posted every night. You can. You always find it uh sometime after the show on the iHeart website and then uh, it takes a little while for to render there sometimes maybe probably four out of five times a week. We'll also get it up on our Facebook and UH and Twitter pages, so you can easily find it there. But uh, if you're if you don't get a chance to listen to us live, you can catch

us on the podcast. Were also it shows up on Apple podcasts and Spotify. So that's very cool. Okay, cool, all right, cool, cool' just keep it full. Yeah, again, looking forward to getting jet Fish on tomorrow. We'll we'll just kind of poke his pick his brain on stuff going on with the team. Uh, you know, it'd be well, you know, we normally get him for you know, a couple of press conferences a week during the season, so this is our time to get

into ourselves. And that's the questions that we you know, that we want to ask. Right, So he'll be on a three in the three point fifteen segment, so be sure to be here for that. Tomorrow should be good. I don't think, you know, we're not going to get an answer on who the quarterback is, but you know, we'll kind of kind of kind of poke around and see, you know, how's how's the decision being made, what's uh, you know, what's he got to consider all

those things. And we would not be good at this if we didn't ask something like that. Yeah, well, of course, Steve, it's easy for us. Yes, that's what we do, Steve, that's what we've been doing for forty years. Forty years and look words gotten it right right here across from each other. We're like a d dog. We're like a d dog for the track there dogs dogs like a d dog the way we were good once there used to be we were we were an a dog,

great a dog. Now we're kind of great on the way out being being ready to uh be sent out to study. Yeah, that's it. I might say, we've been out just study. Were g over. They're taking it to the ranch, man, they're taking it to the ranch. Put up a little timmy, Well you know were you picked dog track? Man? I used to go. I used to the dog tracks in in in New Mexico. No, no, gun, no just here when you came here. Yeah, there was a lot of coins. Remember we used to

the parties up too, man for New Years. Oh yeah, I started going to the dog track in I wasn't even old enough to did you did you? Did you? You didn't live in that area? No, no, no, no it doesn't matter. It doesn't exist anymore. No, no it's gone. I mean everything it's is there. But I think they still have off. Yeah. We used to go there and and then you would go down to a Motto in the summer. Right because at the time, back in those days, each county had a certain number of racing days.

Uh huh. So Tucson Greyhound Park would race basically from about September to May, and they were run out of racing days and then the summer months would be down at a model just on the other side of the Okay, we got color high. You're on there and I on the ball. The show is always guys. I just had a couple of comments to make about the Diamondbacks. Okay, Uh, well, that one needs to make some changes in that lineup. Tommy Sam's batting third the whole series. I think

he had a couple of hits against Milwaukee. Other than that, strikes on about every other about every time off, he's had chantas to drive in some bruns. He needs to get him out of the lineup, move on the third and then put somebody mate at third base because there's no no reason to keep them at third base. And uh, the pitching has been absolutely horrible. Yeah, I hope, I hope we can get a win tomorrow. But with Brandon flat pitching and the way the Phillies hit the ball, that's

gonna be tough unless the kid comes through with the miracles. So well, he did a nice job on the Dodgers because I saw that firsthand. That was great because I know you're a Dodger fan. Yeah, yeah, it was hard to watch, but he he pitched great in that game and did what they needed to do. Good stuff. Hopefully we can put it together tomorrow because I'd like it to at least go six games and hopefully, hopefully we'll win the next three at home. And you have a quarterback situation.

I don't think there's any question. I think Fish has to sick with Fafeeda. Now, I mean, what do you get by putting the Laura back in there? At this point, he earned the right to start. He's played against three ranked teams, done a great job, and hopefully we'll just see winning games and get into a good bowl game this year, Bowl game, hockey, bowl games. Steve, it's all premature, baby. Come on, guys, you said I said we're gonna win eight games earlier.

Oh you're the gun. You and Jeff the Fisher. Fisher, I predicted six, but I think they can get to seven. So I'd like to get into a better bowl game than the New Mexico Bowl or something like that. Yeah, that'd be fun. I'm shooting for the I'm shooting for the l A Bowl. I'd like to get I'd like to go to Sulfi Stadium. Yeah, I hope we can. That might put us in a Vegas Bowl or something. I think ye Vegas was good. All right, thank you, Albert, appreciate it. Thank you. Oody. Happening bowl games,

Steve. They're talking bowl game, we're talking Bowl games. Well, man, look at what wouldn't getting well? Three games? Actually three games, I mean three games. I mean they lost two games, two top ten teams, one of those on the road in triple overtime. You know, those weren't wins, but they certainly were impressive. You know, I kind of joke about being the guy in the room, but dude, midway through that Washington State game, I'm thinking, God, these guys look pretty

good. I mean maybe it's compared to how they've been, but even they look pretty good. You know the guy and who do we have on yesterday? Who do we have on yesterday? Talked about Ted Robinson, talked about the human bowling ball. He's that dude. They can't stop him. It's really strange. I mean, you have a running back who's no one's even talking about Wiley, which is sad. There's no controversy. They haven't missed him because they've played so well, and it's just it's just amazing to me.

Are on the air and I on the ball. Yeah yeah, Steve, I got beef with you, man, go man, go tell me and you hate my boy, calam Mary Man, that's been gone going. This should be old news to you. The dude's not gonna play anymore. I was skeptical about him, But now that Caleb Williams is trash, you got a roll? Hell wow, you're kicking Caleb Williams to the curb. That is a He's like a Kyler Murray junior. Man. I don't need that again. My defense rests here. I mean you kind of agree with

me by proxy. You know, Hey, the Cards have been playing great football this year? Which Cards Louisville? Hey man, the only ones that matter? Arizona? Who are you looking at? What are you watching? What do you what do you want? Don't say? Don't say drugs. Listen to the games on the radio. I don't watch it. You like? Do you like their coach? Yeah? I think he's pretty good coach.

More portly talking about your cats because they look pretty good. Well, first of all, they need to play no if feet yeah, the only choice and if they roll j D L out there, I will do them. You won't be alone, you won't be alone. Yeah, what do you like that? What do you like? What do you like about it? Right now? Just what'scoring? What do you like about They just seem like a complete team now? Yeah, no, everything goes Yeah, you're right, I mean, come on, what what what are he flop by?

What did he fly by? Right now? Honestly, there's they're pretty good in a response. I mean, they're not world beaters, but they're this is another team we've known for what right they're they're they're gonna be a heart out for everything that the rest of the perfect rest of the week, the rest of the season, right, heart out rest of the season. Hey man, I'll leave it on this. This is what I expect from Arizona. Not the best, but not the worst. Okay, you go,

all right? Okay, makes sense? All right, No, Nico's maturity, he's kind of lessons. Yeah, he's kind of like you know, yeah, changing it's not as crazy. Maybe he just kind of have a good time. I think he's still doing a lot of it, no doubt. So having fun. You remember when you were to you know, I've run into him the last two games that Yeah, him and his pop and I see those guys his pop used to call we call us originally. But you know, look, you know the fans are fans, and they're

gonna they're gonna say what they're gonna say. And you know, Jed made it clear that he's gonna make the decision based of course, of course is right for the team. Yeah, but you know it's hard to argue that what no Heat has done in the last three really four weeks to the Stanford game, well you know that, how can you argue? I don't know if you can go back just far. I can't because I don't remember, uh when Khalil took over? Yeah, ooked ober right, guy came in

and what what where was this guy? Yeah? Where's he been all my life? Right? And then all of a sudden he became the sky? Yeah? What if this is happening right now? Yeah? And I remember, you know Brandon Dick, Brandon no Dowkins. Yeah, Brandon Dockins Dixon. He was he was a baseball player, Brandon Dawkins. You know, he goes out, he goes out for a play and that was that. Yeah. Man, you know, Clill went off and that and and that was it. That's the last time he saw the field until until the issue.

Uh yeah, got hurt because got hurt. Got hurt in the game, So you know, I mean, it does happen, and you gotta go with what you gotta go with. So yeah, no question, you know, I think that uh, you know, look, this is gonna unfortunately, this is gonna percolate for you know, a week and a half until we till we get to the game. But I like, like most people have said, I think it's uh, it's uh, you know, we are where we are, and that's Jed's just going to make a decision

that that you know, how do how do you win a game? You win a game by letting off to your quarterback. I saw another stat just now that the FETA is second best in the country right now on the defectiveness when he's blitzed. The only quarterback in the country better than him right now, Michael Pennix. No one they meant have mentioned that, and during the show. Yeah, yeah, I mean, that's that's just it. And he's not playing against timbukto right, he's got played three ranked teams. Yeah,

that's a heck of stat. Yeah, it's a great stat. All right, we'll be back tomorrow again. Jed Fish will be joining us at the three fifteen segment, so be sure to come back for that. We'll ask you some great questions for you, and uh then we'll see who we've got at four fifteen, So be sure to be back tomorrow. Who's better chip around
