Yeah, and it sounds like maybe he's a little scared that those two guys, those two guys will be in the coming to and I'm gonna
kick the crap out of his crappy ass Oklahoma. And it's the same guy that it's the same guy that tweeted cam Ward has getten off ten offers. So don't click on this guy. I'm not We're not going to say the name of his ID, but he's a big fat piece of poop. Yeah, I found it interesting. I was just scoring like, there's no way it gets back to what we were talking about. But being me, you know, there's guys out there who just make stuff up, and that's what
this guy's doing. So there's no buzz whatsoever of them going anywhere very except for this guy making this crap out. Yeah, that's very true. But the college football playoff rankings as they have been came out last night. Georgia one, Michigan two, Washington three, Florida State four, and U of A didn't move there at fifteen. A lot of people maybe upset they should have hopped Louisville or this that the other I think fifteen is probably it.
H it's about you know, there's just it's a logjam after that. Yeah, no, they aren't losing and stuff like that. But the interesting thing, you know, Chris Gorman was just in here and we were talking trying to debate. You can't debate this in five minutes, right, No, it takes you know. The interesting thing was Oregon five, Ohio State six six, seven, Dupid Texas seven in Alabama eight. What There's so many things that can happen, and you just have to let this play out.
And we could sit here and come up with thirty different, thirty scenarios as to who should be in, who should be out if this happens and then that happened. So many things that can happen that the main thing is, it's going to be interesting this weekend. Yeah, there's lots of play for and if you're I mean, the thing is is Michigan, Ohio State. They pretty much played for a playoffs spot last last week, and similarly this week will be everyone's playing for a playoff spot. I think if you have
Georgia Bama, Georgia wins, they're obviously in Bama's in. There's a lot of discussion the Washington Oregon game. If Washington wins, clearly I think they're in. You make no debate there right there. If Oregon wins, you have to see what else happens, right, And then you have Texas Oklahoma State Texas one loss, if they win, you do you never know?
And the biggest game is Florida State Louis though, right, what would what would make the committee's job easiest in whatever scenario would be a Florida State? Is it? No doubt? Because there's the whole issue they're playing with the backup quarterback. You know, if they get in as a number four and play Georgia or whoever is the number one, what chance do they have without
without their starting quarterback? Yeah? And we already talked about the whole transfer portal, but the number of percentage players on each roster now is up to twenty percent of players on each roster or transfers, which is crazy, Which is crazy, But college basketball hasn't necessarily seen that huge transformation. I think it's because of the less players. But do you think do you think?

Personally, I think college football sees more player movement because it's it's so easy for them to just be like, Okay, I'm gonna go do this that because there's more positions. But in basketball, it's like there's only five. There's only five guys on the court at the same time. Maybe it's they they wait a little bit longer to see if it plays out further. I don't know. I don't know. I mean, look at Arizona's roster right now. How many guys?
How many of those guys are transfers? How many who are Utah, you tell you Palte Larson, he's been here, I know, but they're all transfers, Love Fallow, Larson, Bradley, key Shod And there was some four or internationals, five, five out of thirteen whatever, let's say, let's say twelve. Actually five out of the ten guys that play are transfers. Half. That's crazy. Yeah, that's how And I think maybe it's because Ballo and pell have stayed here the last couple of years, where

So what were you thinking when Arizona State went up seven year old right away? And then what were you thinking when they couldn't score anymore? Well, don't you know, I mean, they'll have the offense phrase. He was coming with a lot of smoking mirrors. I mean you have to look no further to their winning the rose ball against UCLA, where the swinging gait
absolutely baffled the Bruins. And I was a little surprised because I know that you've a coming into the game was pretty formidable against the run. I think they're ravaging d and one yard and to see a scoring drive with seventy five yards all on the ground and by the way, mostly by tight end gel and Gon and running back camp Scattergo. That was a little unexpected, But I also knew that a one dimensional offense, no matter how it's achieved,
is not something sustainable. And I knew that the u of a defense, at least in my opinion, really the difference between them really taking that next step and playing at the level that they're playing. So I knew that it was not a sustainable recipe for success. So I'm not surprised at what ensued after that scoring drive. But to your points, David, it was. It was impressive there for a few minutes, that's for sure. It was.
Then, you know, it certainly gave Arizona fans a little bit to think about, you know, because Arizona fans, being Arizona fans, you're always thinking the worst. So I know that I know that there's some people around me who said, oh no, what the hell? But that got
you know, that got turned around pretty quickly. But let me ask you, because you know, it went south really fast and really badly, and you know that we know what that feels like over here, but it still feels different because at Arizona, when that seventy to seven thing, happened. You know, Arizona was still headed the wrong way because Kevin someone was still the coach. You guys have you know, a new coach, you kind of have to feel more like that's got to be the bottom. We're going
the other way. I mean, huh, what's been what's been the reaction to what happened Saturday? Yeah, I think that coach Kennan Dillingham said it best that the team did hit rock bottom after a near forty point loss at home to their in state rivals. So I don't think anybody is trying to
even attempt to spin or furger coade what happened what happened last Saturday. And I think what may matter is even worse if you will, that this is an AC defense that absolutely got their teeth knocked in three out of the four games, three out of the four games. In November, he had a fifty five to three loss on the road at it'sel Lake City. I believe it was a Donald forty forty nine thirteen. I was sorry forty nine to
twenty three loss to University of Oldgan the week before. So yeah, I mean this there was definitely an ANC team that was struggling quite a bit on both sides of the ball. So to have the icing on a not so great cake being being the loss in the Territorial Cup game, This definitely wasn't, you know, anything that you could look back and dismiss and say,
you know, if I think that, goodness, the season's over. I really wasn't definitely frustrating November for a team that really, aside from a home loss to Fresno State twenty nine to nothing another way back in mid September, really was not getting blown out. I mean they were in a lot of games since that, but once it come November, it definitely was a team that was struggling quite a bit and had that three blowout losses in one month. That was definitely not a pretty side for the first in mp GO.
Wide ranging on some questions here, So what's so what was the the temperature back a few weeks ago when Anderson was finally decided to leave or whatever that would be. Was it ding dong the witch is dead or what what is it? Yeah, that definitely was not. There definitely were not a lot of tears shed in Marcopa County once once Ray Anderson was no longer the athletic
director of Arizona State. Uh, if anything was frustrating is that it was announced a couple of days after that improbable win on the road against u C. L A. Where I don't think folks thought that the season was finally going to take a great turn or anything, but you know, folks are feeling good that and undermanned Arizona State team, you know, goes into the rose Ball when UCLA was still considered, you know, maybe an above average
team. I know the perception changed pretty soon after that game, but you know, here they are swinging gates, you know, having a running back, plate quarterback, kind of tied end playing quarterback and then winning the game. And then comes the announcement about Ray Anderson. So maybe folks were frustrated about the timing of it, but I think that the fact that he's no
longer the select director was definitely a welcome a welcome message in MP. I mean, I don't think that it would be even slightly harsh saying that the person that's responsible bringing herm Edwards to MP the hire that have resulted in a massive failure on so many levels, that that is not a person that Arizona State fans wanted to see him power anymore. They didn't want to see him making any decisions whatsoever. I mean, I know if I came on this
show or you know, when Kenny Diniam was hired or not. But the Ken Day Lamb higher was absolutely the boosters wish it was not Ray Anderson campaigning for him. It wasn't the university university president Michael Crow campaigning for him. It was absolutely the boosters that were one hundred percent full just dismayed by what Ray Anderson was promising with the hire from Edwards to say to say did not deliver, you know, you know, it's just like saying it gets a
little warm in the state of Arizona in the month of July. So it was just really really frustrating to see the her members Aaron fold the way was and when when her when her Edwards finally parting ways of Arizona state, folks wanted to see back in September of twenty twenty two, Ry Anderson do the same. So it came much later than fans wanted. But I would say
definitely a welcome sight in tim b when that happened. So is there any sense of what characteristics specifically then that you know ASU does want in its athletic director. Is it just we know we don't want that, you know what I'm saying. I mean, what are they looking for? Yeah, well, you know, Michael Crowe has done really one out of the box higher after another after another, ever since he was in charge of hiring a Plague
directors. He had Lisa love Back. I think it was what two thousand and full five if memory soon as we correct, then you have the Patterson that came from the NBA world in the professional sports world, and then he had Ray Anderson, but at one point was a white hand man of Roger Goodell, the NFL commissioner. So I think that folks are maybe hoping for a more traditional hire now, somebody that's really ingrained in the college sports world.
And granted it's a college sports world has changed massively just in the last two three years with NIL with a transfer portable, So somebody that's really savvy enough to navigate that landscape, which is definitely a challenging one. I think that would be the wish for for Arizona State fans. And I think also
the director has to be a fundraiser. I mean the NIL conference at Arizona State are definitely nothing to write home about, and even now into the Big Twelve, I think it would still be ranked in the lower world of the NIL level the Big twelve teams have. So I think that, you know, those are some of the characteristics of this on paper that I was going to say is looking for I'm just wondering and much like they can, can
you dealing them higher? Is this a higher that the boosters are going to have a much bigger say than probably people think it is, or this gonna be Michael Kodwell just making the higher again, maybe going out of the box again because he thinks it's working great even though it hasn't. It's it's really really hard to predict right now. But again I think a really savvy athtic director that can navigate NIL, navigate transfer portal and be a good fundraiser that
would be on the wish list. Whether it happens or not, we'll see. So the financial situation down here is will documented. Arizona lost two undred and forty million wherever they lost it. What I hear this week or maybe just recently, that issue has its own financial issues. Is that true? Well, I mean financial financials is a SACRAMENTIL honestly did not hear that.
But as far as NIL issues, Kenny Dillingham was very transparent, and when he went on the radio post game following the lost Arizona he said, I need to raise five million dollars in two weeks to have an adequate NIL level
just for the twenty twenty four football season. So I mean, if that's if that's the financial issue that that you're referring to, then yes, that is something that is definitely Kenny Dillingham's mind front and center from trying to replace an offensive coordinator, aside from going to exit interviews and seeing which players are staying voluntarily or sorry, which players are leaving voluntarily or involuentari there's a lot
of Kenney dealing own's plate right now. But he was very honest saying that he's going to have to cut down on his off campus recruiting activities just because he's doing the fundraising for NIL here in MP so really greens to see how
that's gonna all pan out. And obviously when you look at the caliber players leaving, staying, and coming in, then you could make an educated agains as to if Kennedy Dillingham was successful with his fundraising interest for the NIL, but that is absolutely a monumental task that he has been and will continue to
be engaged for the next three weeks. Did did the season go? I know it wasn't a great season, but did he do enough or give people enough hope that they're going to give him that kind of support or that he has a shot at getting that kind of support? I mean, are they happy enough with what it looked like this year in spite of the wins and
losses? I don't think anybody's really content with what happened. I mean, the win loss record ultimately is the same as it was in twenty twenty two, and there's obviously there's much more hope going into twenty three than it was in twenty twenty two. But Kenny Dillingham said that you don't have the luxury to just wait until the team wins and only then contributed. NIL. Just
really just feel excited about the program. I mean you really have to, well you roll your sleeves back, support this to them as much as you can. Uh with NIL probably being the biggest vehicle and in supporting the team, I know a lot of fans put their money where their mouth is, and once Ray Anderson was gone, uh, they said, okay, now that now that Ray Anderson is gone, we are all going to contribute to N I L. Now did that result in an influx of hundreds of thousands
of dollarsands at N I L? I would say probably not. But uh, you know, the grassroots movement anywhere, and that's important. It seems to grow more and more just to keep up with the Joneses, if you will, when when it when it comes to it comes to the NIL level. So I think there's maybe some optimism with Ray Anderson being gone. I don't think anybody should really dismiss that aspect. Uh, But you know, in terms of fans contributing because of content with the other programmers right now,
I don't think it would be that. I think it's really just answering Kenny Dillingham's plea that you cannot wait for the program to win and win consistently and only then contribute because that because if you're going to take that approach, the teams that are going to win. We have all three minutes left to hear. Let's talk about basketball real quick. What's the Uh, this is kind
of where Arizona's doing really well down here. Everyone knows that number tween in the country, and I'm sure people there pay attention and have for a while. What's the basketball temperature up there given early situation. Yeah, it's really just been a roller coaster season, and I don't think it's really any different than the early ten year and tenp You just have some peaks followed by some valleys and lost rooms repeat, and mean, you know, really there's that
many peaks really to speak about in this in this very young season. You know that'll win against Vanderbilt. You can say, okay, high major program, but nothing that's really going to move the needle. Very very lopsided losses to Book, Mississipi State and BYU has tempered maybe any excitement that some fans for NAPS had about this team. It's just really for sitting to see Bobby Hurley turning arguably his best season in t MP with twenty twenty three wins last
season and lose so many players to the portal. That goes back to the nil issue that I mentioned with football. It's definitely evident in basketball too, So I think there's really a lot of weight and see to see how the rest of the non conference schedule does pan out for Arizona State. I mean, there definitely are some challenging games still on the schedule. I think the
expectations are very tempered about this team being middle of the pack. But when you see losses that they had for Mississippi State and BYU, you wonder if even if you can reach that middle of the pack. So it's just really a big wait and see right now with Arizona State basketball. I can't see if the results to date have been that promising, But let's see by the of December, folks aren't feeling better about this, But that's still a huge
questions and key injuries that need to deal with too. Okay, no, great to hear from you. Good to see you the weekend. We'll probably get back with you when Arizona faces them in UH in February. Yeah, you know, Look, they're kind of where Arizona was a couple of years ago from a football set point, you know, like except for the fact that well, let's say after even after Arizona hired Jed, people were still not feeling great about you know, the program
because they thought who they hell that they just hired. But I think they feel pretty good about their coach. In regardless of the fact that they, as he said, they got killed in three of their last four games, they still have to feel better about things than they did before. Well, they have to hope that there's some hope for next year for them. We gotta go break real quick. But it's a far cry from what we covered a team thirty years ago. Right, Dick Temmy was mister feel good,
but he wasn't out chasing money. He was doing all that. Stuah, there's so much more. There's so much more to n Il chasing Rubby doubbles with the boosters because you have to have a good program. So you got a grease the wheels. It's it's more, it's more than what you know. take those two schools. Ucla is going to the BIT ten. They're gonna have struggle in that conference, going up going against ohiosety, Washington, USC, you name it. And I don't think why would you? That doesn't make any sense. And the same thing with Florida. Yeah, I know you have a lot of booster money. I know you have a lot of money, and fans really care about Florida. But for two seasons, if you go six and six or seven and five, they're gonna send you to
the guillotine in a way. But but I don't I think Jeff Fish should stay at Arizona. I really hope because because us Arizona fans, we we we're not like any SEC fan base or even the BIT ten fan pace. We're just at least could he do so if you go eight and five, nine to three, or and then one or anything, like that we're gonna build you a bronze statue. So that's why I kind of think, I mean, I kind of agree. I've been feeling this or thinking this for
the last just couple of weeks as his name has popped up. I think the bigger threat for Arizona in terms of losing Jetfish should be losing to the
NFL. And I'm totally fine with it. If you go to the NFL, okay, cool, then have have a secession plan and like friend Brent bt F Carol will take over as the new as a new head coach because Brent Brendan Carroll has been on Jetfish's death and I'm totally fine with any one of of him being the next head coach because because it's finally times whereevers on the be relevant of football, NASA basketball, So I'm really I'm just super excited. And plus he basically said that we want to be like Utah.
