Day Live on me My Heart Radio WAP. This is I on the Ball with Steve and Jay Gonzalas Fox Sports fourteen fifteen. Hey, welcome back to Twining in the Ball here on Fox Sports fourteen fifty. I'm Steve, He's Jake, got our guy, Jason went some breaking news. This is I on the Ball, breaking news. Okay, I was on a softball will face against I was on the stage in game one of the pack Fall Tournaments

nine at six pm at home. They have to win. There's a there's did you see the list of Star Pac twelve Players of the years and stuff? Yeah, Ellie Scaggs defensive players that they had like four on that list. I'm thinking, how they're not They're telling they can't pitch? Now? Does this happened? They have some people on the roster, well, Ellie Scaggs, I guess the number is one hundred and sixty two chances at second base and zero errors. I remember the errors. We already hung about it.

Absolutely. My goal was to not make an error in a game, much less the whole freaking season. I love it, or I should say, to not make more than one in the game. Right, you were like the kid from Bad News Bears. What's his name? The one that coast all the time. Yeah, I was a second baseman most of my short baseball career. Um, uh, you know, I couldn't ever.

I wasn't ever really good at judging flyballs, but I was. I played infield, obviously, and I you know, I never could well, I didn't even consider myself that good of a baseball player, so I shouldn't say I never consider myself a good infield. There. I had no arm. This is gonna. I'm using my Are you using your insurance? Uh? This is your your what do you call it? Your payment for insurance from

your copy? This is like your therapy session with me, right, I'm just yeah, I'm on the couch and I'm telling you all my ills from growing up as a as an athlete or not I could really hit power. I had nothing, man, that's like but I feel like that was the eighty five pounds when I was telve years old. Okay, Track and Field. After after records setting regular season, Arizona Track and Field will return to Mount and Sack and Hilmer Lodge Statum for the twenty twenty three pack felth Outdoor

Track and Field Championships, which will happen this Friday through Saturday. All right, they had a decent season and they've got a couple of you know, I'm Jordan Guist, Tally Bonds, you know who's who's setting all kinds of you know, Arizona records and stuff. So what she's doing is amazing because that's not easy. Well, and and to kind of like, you know, I don't want to say come out of nowhere, because as she said

on the show, she kind of built up to this. But but still, you know, three years ago, who had heard of Tally Bonds, Right, So that's awesome. Yeah, and um, their head coach Fred Harvey also said, um, this will be the first time the Packfelth Championships UM will be held out of neutral site. So based on our last two competitions and training, UM, we feel very confident and ready. Do you take on this challenge and you know, show that we are one of the

best track and field teams of the nation. All right, go down, Fred Harvey, the Dean of Arizona coaches. Yeah. On Arizona Woman's Golf. They are headed to Scott's Arizona because they are advanced to the nc Double A Championships. Um. They won the nca Double Rayley Regional today with a

seven seven under par final round UM. The Wildcats and entered the day in fourth place, needing to finish among the five top five teams in the region to advance to the championship game, and they were able to do so. So what do you guys think of that? It's awesome because they were in they were in tied for fourth point into the day. Yeah, they were only one, only qualifying by one stroke. And then they win the regional.

UM. And for those of you who you know want a cheer for the PAC twelve m ASU which win in is basically the number two seed in this region, did not get into the top five. They had a they had a bad day um uh, like fourteen over par and finished in ten seventh place. So they're at top five. Goes. So it's Arizona won the regional. North Carolina State, who was hosting, took second, Wake

Forest took third, TCU fourth, and Florida State fifth. So those five teams advanced to the NCUBAA tournament in as he said in Scottsdale, yep, good for Arizona again. They steve Remember we talked to them coming out of the pack twelve and they were just all of a sudden got hot, right, and they were there. I mean they you know, they looked like they were going to qualify, but they got hot today and they win their

regional yep. Some national news. Former Las Vegas Raiders receiver Henry Ruggs at third I'll pleaded guilty Wednesday in a twenty twenty one drunken drunken driving crash that killed a Las Vegas woman and her dog. Um, he's facing three to twenty years in a Vada state prison. Three I thought that happened. That's two years ago. Yeah, it was just like that year. Yeah yeah, wow, three ten years. He's going to prison, man, Yeah, as he should. He was driving one hundred and twenty something in the

neighborhood. Yeah, I mean it was it was a kind of a big street in the neighborhood. But nonetheless it was in Did you see that they're doing now that I was the Formula one in Vegas? YEA, how crazy? That's going to be the career of the cabin. There were tells this place is going to be monkers rooms or two thousand dollars a night at that time when it's in November third, November third, and the streets are gonna be oh god, you won't there the week after. You won't move,

You can't even want to move. The streets were well cleared up at the time we get there because we're going up there the week after for good luck for fall football trip. Good luck. Yeah um. Some Arizona Cardinals and news UH Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray has donated donated fifteen thousand for a six year old William Choe, who lost his parents and three year old brother in the match shooting that took place at Texas Mall earlier. This yeah, good for

kind of Murray. Yeah, so um. The go fundming goal is currently set out fifty thousand, and it has been surpassed and currently sets at over one point seven million dollars. Well, so yeah, it's pretty pretty awesome. And some Arizona UM Phoenix Suns and news UM reported Tim and Tim McMahon spoke to Chris Paul after the game yesterday about his availability for Game six UM. Chris said, we'll see, I'm trying to come back. So that

was another issue with the Phoenix Suns. I mean he's out begs the question, right, isn't that what we talked about were you you know? Oh we had was when we had Jody on. It's like, okay, Chris Paul comes back. What do you do? Is he you know? I mean they okay, they had a bad game last night, but they had been They won a couple of games. You know, do you bring him back into his old role or you do something else? Do you do what won you those two games when he was sitting down, because they lost two

with him and then they won two without him. Now again, this is before last night's game, which was terrible. Um, So I don't know what. I don't know what you do. Yeah, I think you kind of bring him off the batche like when Stuff came back from his injury, he came off the bench. I think was Chris is trying to do is

come off the bench. They have the second unit like campaign run the first with the first unit, and the kind of you see how lot of goes because Camra has been able to you know, up the page when they when they're playing, and you know, Chris likes like slow it down. But as I've been working for them, So I think you bring Chris off the bench if he does come back with Game six. I don't I don't know.

I'm you know, I'm so far from being an NBA analyst, right, but but you know, Jody was the one who kind of brought that. Were you here, No, it was Devin that was here. Yeah, um, and uh, you know it was kind of like what do you do? Then? He kind of he kind of advocated for that. He goes, I think you bring Chris Paul up the man? Yeah. Yeah. So, um, well that is all that I have a breaking news as today. All right, Um, I got I don't have much

more because you took the Huggins the Huggan thing. Well yeah, we spent a lot of time talking about that. Um let me see, let me just kind of go, look, oh, I was gonna bring that to the odd oddest things from I told you about. Shapiro sends me these things on on email and had Arizona had to Pac twelve. I mean, here's open opening college lines, football conference lines. Okay, and I'm gonna go directly to the Pac twelve and here we go. How to do win it?

Easy? Sus see? Two to one, two to one. Next, I'm gonna go Washington, Oregon, Oregon and Washington thirteen to four, thirteen to four. Okay, where do you think Arizona falls? Uh, I'm gonna put them about fifth or six. They're tied for ninth with a issue seventy five to one. Wow, seventy five to one. Where do

you think Colorado is? It just depends on what this guy thinks, right, because you know the conversation we're having is you either think they're gonna be really bad or pretty good, right right, right, And and there's a factor here, it's Dion factor. Right. Um, I'm gonna think they got Colorado up in the middle of the pack. Yeah, so they're right

ahead of Arizona thirty three to one. Okay, so it's kind of he'll give you the little UFC Oregon, Washington, the Oregon, Washington same, Utah five to one, Oregon State eight to one, U sill A sixteen to one, Washington State twenty five to one, Colorado, Arizona, Arizona State. Okay, I think Arizona finishes ahead of Washington State A Colorado. I wonder why these so highly at Washington State do they have they got like everybody else? They got a quarterback back, so they should be there.

There's five of them, right, Yeah, there's a whole bunch. Everybody's got a quarterback if you don't have a quarterback. And that's the one thing I'm i'm i'm I'm suggesting about Colorado. They've got a quarterback who's played at the Division two or at the FCS level, and that's it, right against all these guys who've been in this you know, in this league and who are really good. You know, UCLA drops because their quarterback is gone.

But we're gonna move Colorado up from one and eleven because correct exactly. And that's the point, you know again, you know. The feeling is the feeling I have is that, like I said, they're either gonna be pretty bad or they're gonna be good. I think I just don't know how they're going to be able to mesh this team together in such a short period of time where the coaches only coached at the f CS level, most of their best players have only played at the FCS level, and then all of this

turnover where these guys essentially don't know each other. If they're ultimately good by the end of the year, maybe, but I'm I think they have a tough time winning games. At the start of the sea. They open with TCU, right, I mean, I just don't know how good they can be. I you know, they're they're over under wins, came in at three. So DraftKings thinks they're not gonna be very good. Yeah. So did you see I'm sure you've heard a time or two that the owner of

the Sons wanted to put the games on free TV. Yeah, it's not gonna happen. Apparently no acoup a bankruptcy blocked that from that happening because it's the Diamond Spright. Yeah yeah, the yeah, ballet sports. Yeah, so the bankruptcy judge says they got to leave him on on ballet sports for now. I guess now. Yeah, yeah. Sometimes, you know,

I know a little bit about bankruptcy stuff like that. A lot of times, for the most part, what a judge, a bankruptcy judge wants to do is just leave everything it's in its place so they can figure stuff out. You know, let's not change a whole bunch of stuff, and that that's what they'll do. I went through the whole bankruptcy thing at tvp TP almost got sent into bankruptcy and that you know, I remember just going into having to go to hearings and stuff like that, and that's essentially what they

want to Everything just stays the way it is. Let's figure this out. Once they figure it out, that maybe you can do whatever you want to do. Yeah, okay, I'm sure a lot of people are gonna be happy with that, getting to watch him on free TV. Yeah yeah, yeah, no, I, um, it's probably the right thing to do, right, Let's not let's not mess it all up and make it worse.

And so that's, uh, that's what you think. So I don't know, Okay, Um, so some I don't know if you saw, well the NFL schedules coming out tonight, but they release some of it saying who's gonna be playing up in up in Europe. I mean like there's you know, they're they're not just sending the scrubs over there anymore. The Chiefs are going, the Packers are going, the Dolphins are going. Um they let they let out the all the international games. Uh there's two games in

Germany. Um okay, Jacksonville is still going because they always they always go. But um there there's uh, there's actually gonna be some really good games being played overseas. Dude, you have that good Jason, Yeah, yeah, I do. So Week four you have Falcons Jaguars in London. Then you have Week five Jaguars Bills in Tonaham, and then Week six Ravens Titans um at ton of Him and then like you said, uh, Chiefs and

Dolphins are playing in Germany and Colton pay was also play. Yeah, so I those are some good teams that they're sending over there now, not just the Jaguars and not just the Ravens. They will always end up seeming to go, but the Jaguars there twice. So yeah, did you see when Dickinson went from Kentucky to Kansas? Yes? Is the news there? Shocker, right, Yeah, Nil played a big factor, No, really seriously

knocked me over with a feather man. Yeah, And we had talked about that because Kentucky was having a hard time coming up with the nia stuff. So they go. So if you can't shop at the Sacks Fifth Avenue, you go to the next best place, or the Yellow Front, right yellow where remember Yellow Front was n Is that a good place? It was like it was a little bit better than the dollars store. Oh okay, no,

everything wasn't. I probably that's why. That's why. But it was like that, Yeah, if you distegate, it was the buildings looked like yellow, you know, a dollar store or a dollar tow or whatever I think, and they were painted solid yellow. But you could go in there get like Levi's and they would be like three dollars cheaper than if you bought him at at Sears or exactly. So you know, yeah, remember you had to buy the you had to buy the size to two inches too long,

so when they shrunk up all that stuff. But I never I don't remember seeing people at old guys in two when I was a kid. My first I would tell you my first pairs of Levi's did come from yellow friends. That's why a listener Bill just texted me. That's where my school clothes came from, and my shoes. The Bill knows what I'm talking about. But yeah, I did see it. Well. He said that he couldn't He wasn't getting six figures at Michigan, which is why he left, which

implies that he's getting six figures wherever else he went, maybe seven. Who knows what he's getting. But uh, and he basically said it. It was about the money. Let me tease Jay. And this may be stupid by me saying this, but not that I'm old school, But I don't know players worth any any of that. No player six figures six years. You're not saving lives, you're not creating life. You're not saving life. That's arn't sure. Six figures to play basketball for six seven, six months.

Really, come on, Jay, you're not gonna put any money out of your pocket. Oh I'm not. Somebody thinks it's worth it to them, though, How wouldn't say their basketball team in the world. Really, this one we've come to me there in Kansas. Yeah, you're part of you already paying that before they're in Kansas. But you know what I'm saying that I don't see any players, you know, pros making millions that two.

I wouldn't pay that. Why why? But the market it's not a it's not a market for you and me, but it's a market for somebody. Anybody want to throw money on us, we'll take it. We might be able to pay. Jason. Yeah, all right, let's take our break. We're gonna come back. It'll be Brian Hall talking about covering coach Prime up up in Colorado will pick his brain on all of that and ask

me if he's having fun. So stick around. This isn't I am a boar on Fox Sports fourteen fifty. Hey, welcome back to a about you know, Fox Sports fourteen fifty. I'm Steve Rivera, he's Jakin's as now and the follow we have Ryan how from the Boulder Daily Camera. We're checking in to make sure you're alive. Right, are you there? I'm here. Well, last time

we talked to you, you said life could be changing for you. Has it? Uh? Yeah, it's quite different when you have a head coach that has some energy and some weight from this is you've got to kind about program that people want to hear about. Well, so what I mean, I know we make we're making fun and all kinds of because we're sitting here watching from over here, and it looks kind of crazy over there. But um, what's been your I don't know, how have you gone about working

with all of this and all that's happening. M I certainly you couldn't have been through anything like this ever before. Just what what's it been like and what are some of the things you're dealing with in working with Deon Sanders? Yeah, I mean it's certainly insane. And you know, I did like carls Rella for some level, but there's nothing like Sander personality wise, and just to go from that to what this is now is just a dramatic difference.

And you know, there's not really you know, a ton of there's not like more access we have anything like that. But it's like information overload. I mean, everybody has seen all the YouTube channels, and sometimes you feel like, all right, I need to watch all three channels that cover don plus Shit Door Standards Channel plus Silo Standards Channel. I need to watch all these channels and every video they post, and it's just information overload,

and you know it's crazy. I mean it's almost like you have more access but really don't even talk to more players. It's just there's so much content. Well, the thing about it, with you covering the team on the daily, your your stuff is going out and it's making national news because I'll always see Brian Howell's tagline or buyeline on it. Um. You. One of the questions was, well, how do you refer to him when you're

asking questions? Um? Usually coach and he's fine with a yeah. You know I did tell him when my first mad him, I said, you know, I'm a little worried about calling you the bong thing because I've always called coaches either their first name or coach and kind of lasting his. I don't worry about it, you know, I've always just kind of called him coached, um, you know, others while calling coach prime. But I you know, I was stuck with coach with him, all right, that's

legit. You know when when you I mean, has he what's he been like to deal with? Is he? Is he? Is he a pleasant guy? Is he an intense guy? All of the above? Um, you know, because we've all had, you know, coaches who have been different things. Well, what's he like with to deal on a regular basis when you're in your viewing him or in a press conference or whatever. Yeah,

I haven't had a lot of one on one time with him. A couple of times back in December when I covered the Celebration Bowl in atlant I sent down there and I was able to get a couple of one on one, uh you know, moments with him, and then I did see one of the time in Boulder. But he's always been pretty really down to earth when the cameras are off and they're just sit in a chat with him. Uh. You know, as far as covering him, it's always been press

comments with like four hundred people there covering him. Not that manbe but you know, it's the kind of people there covering it. And he's personal with the media. There's a lot of times that you know, the sports information director, you know, we're fifteen minutes in the press commerce and he'll say, he'll say one more question and DN I will say, no, I'm having fun, let's just keep going. So he'll he'll actually extend press competes, UM, just give us some time we need so. UM, it's

a little bit different, but he's always been pretty personable with us. And UM, he hasn't locked the game yet, so not not part of it. So, so we grew up. We're probably a little older than you, Brian, but we grew up watching him obviously. And I was asking Jay, I'm gonna ask you this question that I want to ask you this question. So he comes out with this great content. He has this philosophy of you know, you have to earn what you get things like this,

You got to proof who you are. Yeah, Yet did he practice what he's preaching? Now? Do you think as a player? I think so. You know, I've heard stories of him being a guy that would take younger players under his wing and teach them a little bit. And so one of them being Kevin Mathis too he plays with with the Cowboys that is now on the staff as a complex coach. Here. Um, he was a guy that I believe Kevin Mappis was undrafted or at least a late round pick

something like that. And uh, you know Dan Lendler's wing and helped him out a little bit earlier in his career. So um, And he told me things like the d sold many things about how he used to always kind of mentor young players and things like that. And you know, his mother has always been that way. He got it from his mom and uh, you know, he's always kind of enjoyed mentoring young people. So there's just

been so much about the turnover and stuff like that. And you know, you've got you've got the AD backing them up, backing them up, saying, you know, other programs have done this, Why is it such a big deal? You know that that we're doing it, but um, you know, what are your thoughts on on how how he's turned it over? Not only how many guys, but just the way it's been done? You know, what would have been you know, what do you know or what

would have been your thoughts on that? Yeah? I mean it. You know, the ad is right, you know it has been done, but it hasn't been done to this level. You know, I don't think we've ever seen this much roster turnover in one off season. And that's what's gathering so much attention, not only even yeah, but that the numbers are so staggering it. You know, I'm not sure we've ever seen a team, a thought ball team is going to go into a season with seventy five,

potentially seventy five new scholarship guys. That's got to be entrusted at it and but you know, I think to me, I know, in a lot of ways that looks harsh to a lot of these players, but this is also what the players kind of fought for, you know, they've fought for the transferport will being open like this and having the free movement, and you know, with that comes this is more of a business than that before.

And if you're not performing, you gotta go. And you know, that's kind of the way it is. That's the way it is in every profession and every walk of life. You better perform and you're not gonna play or you're not giving to have this job or whatever it is. So I think he's just treating it like a business. Yeah, no question. I think that's a great point for you to me. I saw the spring game just out of curiosity, cold snowy, YadA, YadA, and then the kid,

the wide receiver who did really well. Two days later he's gone. Did that surprise you have? Anybody has any of the transfer surprised you? He was the one that really surprised me because he is one of the few guys that came back from the team that has really seemed to ingrain himself with the new regime. He's close with Shado or standers. They've actually there was a video Shore posted yesterday. We're Tim in Montana, Califonias Craig hanging out

and so they're still closed. So that was the me. But you know, that could be a situation where you know, I've heard that, you know, he was a guy that maybe he wouldn't start, that maybe he isn't for the starting role somewhere. It's also possible in this day and age, he made some money with that performance on that spring game, being on the SPM. But you know, all of a sudden, you go to the portal and wants to check out his value. That would surprise me.

But you know, ill the interesting where he lands. I mean right away he was getting big time offers. I imagine he's something. So tell me if you agree with this. And I don't know if Steve has the same

opinion. My opinion is it's gonna be either or you know, either they're gonna be pretty good, a lot better, you know, I'm talking you know, six seven, eight wins, or are they going to be really bad because it's just gonna take too long, or it's gonna be too hard to get this team to mesh together, you know, in a short period of time and kind of nothing in between. They're either gonna win two games or they're gonna win like seven or eight. Do you agree with that?

No, I think it could be really anywhere from to to seven rings. You know, I don't see them being you know, color I was getting like the sixth most bets to win the national title. Right, They're not gonna have gonna win a national title. Yeah, they're not gonna win a pack to a title. But this team was so awful last year. They're not gonna be that bad. I mean, I think there's going to be a much better football team that I think it's about feel badly get to the

bowl game, but I think that they can get there. They've got to have a lot of things go right. But I think they could be anywhere between that too and seven to win, right. Yeah. In fact, we were just talking about the odds from somebody. They're thirty three to one to win the Pac twelve, right in front of Arizona who's seventy five to one. So that's a marked improvement. I think maybe that's fifth or six in the league. So that's kind of about where you're kind of projecting them

from a team that was just absolutely horrible. But also you've been there like five or six years, right at being bolder, how many years? No, this is my it's really my fourteen fourteen so even better. So did you ever imagine in your time there that you would see a stadium full of people for a spring game? No, and nobody ever comes to it.

I mean it's always been a free event and they just opened the gates and you know they don't even nobody ever comes to uh, you know, in general, you get a thousand or maybe two thousand people that show up to it, and you know, this year's actually sell tickets. It's the first time they sell tickets to this event since the nineteen eighties. And to sell it out forty seven thousand people was insane. It was I always tell people it was because it was cold. It felt like a perfect fall football game.

But um, it was absolutely a game day atmosphere. The only thing was missing was the other team, all right. So you know, back to Dion a little bit. Um, you know, you can tell to me, at least you can tell a guy who's knows the ropes of being a Division one. You know or let's say a Power five coach, you know they have they know the expectations, they know the ropes, they know

hook goes along with it. Besides, you know, being a coach on the field is do you see Dion Sanders is he does he have all that already? Or she would not even expect him to have all that Like anybody else, He's gonna have to learn what it's like to be an FBS head football coach. Yeah, I wouldn't expect him to have it. And I

think he's gonna we're learning curve a little bit. But I think what's smart and wow he put his staff together is you look at the experience on his staff and his offensive coordinator is Sean Lewis, who was a head coach at Kent Saint the last five years. And actually, I'm a lot of people's boards for this job this time around for Colorado, and a lot of people wanted him as the head coach. So um, you look at him. Tim Brewster's in the head coach at Minnesota, he's the tight end coach.

Four of the five assistants offense have been head coaches in college. And then he got Charles Kelly, the DC. Who's you know, he just came from Alabama. He's full of the state, Tennessee, all over the place. So they've got a lot of experience on the staff that he's directed himself with, and I think that that's going to help his transition. Brian, the industry is horrible. We all know the newspaper business and the media business is horrible. I hope you've already asked for a raise. Well, I'll

ask for a lot of overtime. Let's go that way, because I'm sure every day you have to be wondering what's name? Well, yeah, I mean, arguably this is the most watched program in the country right now. People are looking at what's going on in Colorado, I think more than they're more at least more curious about it then what's going on in Georgia or Alabama or Ohio state as some of the US. I mean, you guys, are you know what's going on up up in Boulder? Is God, it's

in the spotlight. It will be all season long. I mean it hasn't even really started for you. I mean, wait till the season comes around, right, Yeah, I really said that I would be on I thought I was going to win the first nine months. They're absolutely doing that. Then they got to play football games and we'll see how long it lasts, but you know they're going to win the first nine months. The TCU game is going to be insane. The Nebraska game, the first one in Boulder

is going to be insane. And then you got c SU, who they haven't played in a few years coming to Fulton for the first time and I don't know last late nineties or early two thousands because they usually play in Denver. So the first three game is going to be insane. And then you open Taxwolve play, which you know the first Taxwell game is going to be insane and gather a lot of attention. So really September, how they do in September might dictate what the attention looks like the rest of the years.

So you kind of joked about this having four hundred media, but you understand there's been a lot. So how many on a regular basis before him showed up at practices and covered the team, how many before and how many are doing it now? On average, there was about five of us that would show up on a day to day asist and the very last road game last year, the second to last game of the season, they were at Washington and I was the only member of the media press conference, and that was

it. It was just me and the head coach and actually montane alimonious Greg. That was it. Uh. And then now you've got at least twenty five thirty on a regular day, and we always knew when DM was going to speak in the spring, so twenty five thirty when he wasn't speaking, But then on the four times he did speak, they had to move up to a conference room that was standing. Only then you probably have I don't

know, seventy year eighty people there. So from the five that were there every day before, sure, sure, and the national I'm assuming and you know national people, and now you now you're in competition with a lot of a lot of bigger people. Yeah for sure. And I mean Denber never paid attention to well not even national. Denber never paid attention to see you because such a Broncos town. And you know, the Denver stations are up in Boulder, you know, every day during the spring there up there.

You know, I saw the athletic eft and everybody was out of the spring game. And so uh, just everybody was there. I mean, everybody wanted to cover it. Well, good luck to you. Well you're gonna be having fun. Right, Well, I'm not sure it funds the word, but I will be busy and it won't be dope. Okay, we're just looking at the schedule. Did they play Arizona? Yeah, November November eleven? I think, well, I guess, well, you're gonna be gona be here. No, I'll well, we'll be talking to you,

Brian. I hope you survive up until November eleventh. Thanks, I appreciate it. Okay, thanks. You know he sounds okay, right, he doesn't. He doesn't sound on the ragged edge. I think I would be typically though. You know how it is. Uh, you see it from the distance and you say it's not really that, but but it is. You know what it is? Going to ratch it up? Oh yeah, it's all. It's just been spring stuff. Now you got the summer.

You'll deal with all the question. You'll keep doing stories, people keep reading it, but then the season will start and start practicing. You start to find out if they're gonna be any good. You're gonna see players, and then they're gonna start playing games. And let's start losing and then what right, I mean you look at that schedule, right, you'll you got Colorado, Nebraska, Colorado State. They could lose all three of those. I

mean TCU, Nebraska, Colorado State. Yeah, it could be all and three going in and then then again if they're three and oz, i'll hell break yeah right, yeah, all right, let's take our last break of the day. I guess we should ask me, Paul, you know when I get the recording, because what I do is I pull the recording off the stream. It's always there, right. The question is did it go out on the air when? Good question, and that we don't know. So if you guys heard Howard utter a profanity, um, and if you heard it, let us know

Get out of the way so we can move on and we'll we'll come back on Monday and we'll have lots to talk about. Lots going on this weekend.

NBA Playoffs, PAC twelve All tournament softball, right, tournament wins baseball. So I'm not they're they they're still playing games. I think. I think I think baseball is at Stanford. Did you one of the things that we didn't talk about when we have Brian on yesterday, which the perspective that you had on terms of years that this has been this miserable together forty years, eighteen eighty two, eighty four. Oh yeah, that you you picked it, picked your inches, right. Yeah, mind, I'm thinking I

didn't realize that. I didn't realize that because softball had been so good for so long. They've been in the tournament, right since nineteen eighty seven.

Yeah, I'm holy count that's a Hall of a record, And that tells you that people have been taking it for granted one right, um, and just assumed that's gonna happen to them, that it's going to happen, and then when now they're gonna be shocked when it doesn't or if it doesn't, which I have a hard time thinging that they're gonna that they can get baseball. Yeah, yeah, it's tough. Uh. Well, we were talking about the same thing last year at this time though, right too. And

they got fire, they cut fire. Well, first of all, they snuck into the tournament. They got a bid to it tournament. They got a bid to the tournament even though they'd only one thing they'd won if they think it went eight and sixteen or something like that. In the conference. They got in, Um, and then they got hot. You don't find themselves in the Cone Forward series, So you know, I mean it can happen. Look as you know, when we had Kenzie Folleran said, you

know, I said, how wide open is? Well it doesn't seem to be very because UCLA is so damn good. But you only got to beat them one time. You don't have to beat them two out of three. You know, it's not a double elimination, so you don't have to beat them and then come back and have them, you know, have to play them again. If Arizona can be the a su get their shot with you Ucla tomorrow. Who knows? Right? You beat them one time now all of a sudden, you know you got a shot at this. But where

where's the baseball tournament is that? You know? You got to play around Robin and then the Brackett and they had UCLA a time or two only to lose it in the right So, um, it's it's it's doable, but it's less than likely, all right the sake, it's called a run the R and I on the ball? Hey, Jay, Tommy Lang, how are you doing? What's up? Tommy? What's going on? Hey? I didn't hear the second hour or show. You know, my apologies. I don't know what I'm gonna do the next two days, but we'll get

back. Hey, Yeah, I just want to because of the timing. I look at the Bobby Huggins thing and I want to drag the Jaden Delora thing together with it. Okay, And you know, it might be old fashioned thinking or something, but I mean to me and I don't care. I'll just be honest. I'd rather the kid robbed a bank than than whatever the situation would have been, because okay, there was there was a settlement,

which means, uh, he didn't do nothing. Uh. And and Bobby Huggins, you know, people seem surprised, like, you know, somebody commented on social media, Oh, I'm surprised he doesn't have more class. I'm like Bobby hug And Glass, I've never really been closely related. He's a big mary, straightforward, is he not. Well, that's the Bobby Higgins we used to know, or because we haven't really you know, we see him on the day to day, but he was. He has

that reputation, right if I can say that. Yeah, So I just kind of I was a little puzzled by people like, oh, we're good, you know, with Jayden Delora be on the team, if he was a third string guard. You know, I don't know, Um, Tommy, Tommy, you know you know the answer to that, Tommy, Right, So hey, listen, I hope you guys have a great weekend. Appreciate, appreciate, thanks for the college thank you. Yeah, Um, we don't know circumstances. I mean, what would we do when it happens

to you. It's easy to solve other people's problems when they're not well. I mean, if that if you know, if that's my daughter, well that's the whole thing. You that's I'm like, great point because I don't have daughters, but you do and people around it, Um are impacted that way because you you you feel it, you know it. I kind of call from a from a from a booster, longtime booster, uh, a

very good booster. Here he was upset by the about the how they handled it older school, an older dude, very upset and says, I'm concerned where this program is going given given their decision, and I'm thinking, uh, I don't know what to tell you because I don't even know what to say. Well again, and the feelings that, you know, the things that have been expressed to me are from one end of the spectrum to the other, saying okay, kind hand of the juvenal court level, leave it

alone. It's done. It's over with. Everybody was you know, satisfied with it. I don't think everybody was satisfied with it because if the parents would the girl would have been satisfied with it, they wouldn't followed a lot. Now. On the other on the other hand, you got, you know this other side that says, well, um, he should never a lot. You know, you lose your privilege to be a college athlete if you do something like that, which I kind of agree with as well.

So I don't know, you know, we we you know, we had ah you know, my my, the friends that I have to know, my group that includes a bunch of lawyers and judges and whatnot. You know, the conversation we had today about it was, you know, the spot that Arizona has put itself in now by not having done anything when they first

found out about it, is that they're they can't do anything now. They said, if if they were to suspend or do anything any discipline, any level of discipline at this point that Jane Delaia would that lawyers would be falling over themselves to represent Jade Delora one to get an injunction then and then to to um to claim damages by the university because they didn't do anything at the time, because they've they've let it go, and now that they would be

saying, well, we thought it was okay, but now people saying it's not okay, so we're going to do something. Yeah. No, that makes sense the way you put it. And I know I don't know the people you were talking to, but the higher higher they're in the business, right, I'm making this decision, right, So well okay, yeah, that makes total sense. Uh. Brian talked about that a little yesterday. And when you knew, when you didn't know, what can you do after

you've known? Right? Yeah? Yeah, right and there yeah, and that's at this point, it's unlikely they'll do anything. And look, and I've got you know, I've got, like I said, I've got daughters that I've talked about this and they're like unhappy with the university. Very comm Yeah, totally makes sense, Totally makes sense. The one thing that I've

said since this that he'll have to mind his business. He'll have to be very very good at what he does, a better student if he's not already a better student, a better person if he's not already a better person, know what I'm saying, Because you can't screw up. Well, here's an

idea. And I thought about this because when when when I you know, when we talked about it the very first time, I said, he's maybe if you were to step out and do something to try to make a difference on this issue, and maybe it's something like, look, I'm I was a you know, I did this, So let me see if there's a way that I can, um, I don't know, being an advisor, you know, be an advocate or something for you know, these types of

crime, you know, for victims of these types of crime. Who's to say he's not right because we don't know, we don't know, we don't and if he I'll tell you what if he is. I think it would be nice if we were to know that because it might take some pressures those go through the questions with the press Conso we're talking about but okay, Jaden, you did this. What are you doing besides not doing it again to be right, to make it not right, not right, but to you

know, to be a positive influence on this issue. What are you doing? Is there something you're doing, you know, besides going to maybe some court ordered uh uh, you know, sensitivity training or whatever. Jason, because you're a young dude, you're on campus. Yeah, I don't know if you're okay to talk about this, but what's the feeling on campus? Because he's on campus right, I mean, I haven't really heard anything on campus, especially right now for students are like, you know, going to

home and focusing on what they gotta take care of. Um. I really I haven't really heard anything about it. So the problem Jay and I asked a couple of questions of a couple of colors. How do you sit in going applying for him? And on a Saturday. You could cheer on the school, but what about him? It'll be harder. It's certainly would be harder. You know, I'm sitting here thinking, I'm sitting in the seats. Uh, they're playing you know whoever, you know, and the scores

a touchdown. You're gonna go way to go Jayden? Or you just is it gonna be all right? Nice job whatever, you know what you're gonna do. It's like and not that this is equal to this, but Barry Bonds. I'm not a big Barry Bonds, but I'm not also a hater. I hated every time you Homer, Well, well, some just go. They cheered the heck out of him, right right, go anywhere else? Nobody liked him, so he but he's your guy, he's your ugly baby, which that makes any sense, Oh, my baby, but he's

he's but he's my baby, my baby. Yeah, you know, I hear you, Steve. You know, it's gonna be interesting to see what the reaction is to him. You know, there's you know, the first time somebody says that, you know, when they come out for the first series of the of the of a game, right not quarterback Jayden de Laura, what's the reaction might be mixed? Are there gonna be some booze? Well, you're gonna be some ooze. What's the Firsonal road game on your

schedule that that Mississippi States right there? I mean, even even though not in the road, it's gonna be tough for him on the road. Yeah. Yeah, it is gonna be hard for him to on the road. And you know what, and Arizona fans would make it hard on somebody else's quarterback when they come here. Basketball look basketball exactly. Yeah, yeah, no, I I hear. It's Look, he put himself in this position.

He's got to figure out a way to deal with it. And he's gotta you know, he's got a lot to work through, and he's gonna have a lot to deal with, you know, every day. Um, I mean I mean does he get up every morning and think about this? Yeah? I mean the order is he a bad guy and says screw it? I'm just moving up. Know, those are questions that you asked, yeah, or you asked those at the press convers and we may not and

we may ask those, but we may never get that answer. Yeah, no, true, you know, and and and again there's got to be a perspective from jet Fish. Jet Fish has got daughters, right, he's got young daughters. Jet You know, what do you think? You know, how do you reconcile this for you personally? Somebody's gonna have to ask that. It's probably gonna be or me. Washington. Washington State hasn't did an issue anything, right now. I don't think they knew about it.

Well, I think Washington State can say we didn't know about it. They can say that that question was never asked, right, Yeah, But I think this only got out when when the lawsuit final Alright, Steve, Okay, okay, we'll see Monday, a couple of days off, Thank you, Jason. Back when to Jason thanks for stepping in today. All your finals done, they are, alright, mane alright, free, fast and loose, alright, summertime alright, man okay, heyst out of trouble of

course. All right, we'll be back on Monday. Everybody, you better thank you if you hit your two team party or three team all right, right, I got a three teamer Monday exactly. Well you'll know tonight, all right. Thanks for being here, of course,
