This is I on the Ball with Steve Rivera and Jay Gonzalez on Fox Sports fourteen fifty. Subscribe now to the podcast on the iHeart Radio Whip, just Surging on the Ball. They welcome back to on the Ball here on Fox Sports fourteen fifty. I'm Ski Rivera. He's dagon'sass. And you're too far away from the mic, Mike reading my short talking Yeah, like you're whispering, Steve, sweet nothings. How you doing. No, that's too game.
I gotta get this say, I gotta fire this thing up though night welcome too cool and again here at the Flying b Oh wow, Okay, there's some all there's some really old people who remember the Midnight Guy. Oh yeah, yeah kt kt ke Richard Smith. And he would kind of he was the DJ and like a lot you know, a lot of souls, soul stuff in the seventies, eighties, seventies. It was back when I was in high school and we played, uh, we would play poker,
you know, would do our Friday night poker games. Would turn him on all night long, man, night long. He Richard Smith. He ended up being a a a pastor here in town. I met him. I ran into him at a funeral. What was his name, t Richard Smith? But but he was pastor Thomas R. Smith. Oh, it's you know what, before you go into this, I thought you were gonna say somebody else. But did you ever get the black angus? Yes, back in the day of the music there was a dude that there was. I
thought you could see the dancers. He didn't agic on the dance flow. Not that. Okay, All right, here we go. This is high on the balls on Fox Sports fourteen fifty. Oh okay. I went and read that letter that we talked about that. It was sent by T. J. Schope, Republican Senate President pro tempore at at the State Legislature,
the letter to Fred Duvall, chairman of the Board of Regents. I won't read the whole letter, but it was basically wanting to know what the Border Regents can and should do about what the letter calls the questionable hiring of mister
Anderson's Ray Anderson's friend and former client HERM. Edwards as a head football coach, and the buyout and then the self imposed band Bixy says, I could go on forever about the questionable, unless than flattering incidents related in miss vanderds the tenure, but there are plenty of websites already devoted to laying out that track record. Instead, I would like answers to what the board has done or plans to do, to investigate what happened, why it happened, should
it have happened, or to possibly hold someone accountable for the following. Why did a SU pay HERM Edwards four point four million dollars in a biot agreement instead of firing him for cause for the recruiting violations that occurred while he was head coach? If the right decision was to allow for the BIOT agreement in the fall of twenty twenty two, what has as you learned in the time since then that then led to the decision to now self impose a ball band?
And TODAYSU intentionally announced the bull band after the April twenty twenty three undergraduate transfer portal deadline in an effort to prevent players from leaving the university after receiving this information. Oh, three simple, simple, three three simple questions that are probably very easy to answer, but probably won't be. They won't be,
at least not publicly. You know, but you you would think I know, maybe somebody does us an FOI, you know, a Freedom of Information Act looking for emails and stuff like that that addresses all this, and the border regions can just say you got to give this to us right now. And who know what. I don't know what the board readions can or would do in this situation. It's already up. Yeah, he did address.
He said, what you know, why you know why am I sending this to UH to UH, to the border regions instead of President Michael Crowe? And he and he quotes the sad the the Arizona Revised Statutes in terms of the border regents governance of the university said, the sad reality is that I have lost faith that action will be taken at the university level given the near decade of inaction during mister Anderson's tenure. Which is why I look to you. Yeah, it makes sense, makes sense. I think all good
questions all if you're a fan. If you're a fan, you're thinking the same thing, aren't you. Yeah, and you know what the last thing you need if you're Michael Crowe is to have this. Yeah. How old is he? Oh? Something he's in the you know, Robbie Robins. Probably the mid to late sixties maybe, yeah, well up until this last
few years. I mean he's been respected like crazy, right, but but you know, backing backing the former the former commissioner book, he's done great stuff at the a su is really you know, it's a huge university, a massive school. He's done some great He's sixty seven, you know, I mean, he well respected guy. I mean across the board, the lines of communication that have opened up between all three state universities to working together
the way they have been. And I do I say this from you know, my my my business reporting background that I've had, you know, with this Tucson is that he's credited for a lot of that, you know, instead of having instead of working against each other, working with each other. He's done a lot of that. But this is really weighing down what his legacy ultimately might be and whether he gets fired or not, or gets asked
to leave or not or whatever, this is gonna hang on it. Do you think too that I want to go to the breaking news anyway, but do you think guys of this or importance or whatever success give a crap about their action? I won't say that the response give or care about their legacy. I think some dude, right, I think some dude and I you know, and I think probably most who reach this level they want to leave it better than they got it, no questions, right, no question And
so they when they leave, they want to be well spoken of. Look and you look in a position like this, you're gonna have detractors. Stuff's gonna happen, that's gonna that's gonna hurt you. You know, Robbie Robbins has got some stuff, you know, you know, the shooting of the of the professor and and and they say safety lapses and stuff like that.
You know, that'll but it's something some of these things that hang on you are bigger than others and the avoidable, right, And in the end, it's like, Okay, when you think about somebody's tenure at at a university or whatever, what's the first thing you think of? This may ultimately be the first thing that people think of is all this crap that has happened, both in that the pack Off conference died on his watch and all that they won't be in his epitaph. But but but we gotta call okay, let's
take this call. Hi you're on the air and I on the ball. Are you guys talking about sanctions that as Yeah, yeah, let's team money a one name. A decade when the issue football has not been in hot water for you know, breaking the rules, it just seems like the reoccurring theme at tempting normal. And I don't know why, uh, you know why we're surprised going to happen. It happens all the time. Everyzona state
is known for this. And I don't know how any ASU fan can look themselves in the mirror at any time during any season, but especially during football season when I do stuff like this, You don't, I don't know, Well, I think, yeah, I mean it's certain they certainly have the
reputation of doing that, whether it's was football or something else. But to me, the bigger issue is at the at the highest level of the administration really with a guy like Michael Crowe, who I feel it's really changed the image of ASU that he let this go on, and that's on that it's on his watch that this stuff is happening, and that it's kind of being let God, how old are you but forty something? Yeah, I'm a
millennial for sure. Oh, millennial. Okay, so so what do you remember because I got here in eighty seven Frank Cush was kind of at the end of end and he didn't have anything bad, did he was No, he got he got fired because he punched a player. Oh yeah, but no, okay, the rules breaking up. No punch the player. No, that's what I'm saying. I mean, I mean these guys and in basketball program they're shaving points. Like every time you turn around an issue in
some kind of little article off to the side. But it's another ANTIBA violation, or you know, kids getting punched, or you know the number one party school in the universe. Well there's that. Is that the boide there is that? There is that, right all right, thanks about to appreciate it. So that goes to the top, right, Yeah, that goes to the very top. Okay, Steve and I did not get to go
to this. Dave Hickey had had a session with the media today. We were busy doing some uh some Draft Kings duties, so I had to sit in on a meeting with our Draft Kings people. But the only things that I've seen coming out of the meeting is that uh uh, Dave Hickey was asked about naming rights for Arizona Stadium and other venues. Thanks to Justine Spears for posting this, because you know, ASU just got its just named. It's uh, it's uh Stadium. The arena has been named a couple of
times, right, it was Wells Fargo for the longest time. The quote from from Dave Hickey was that I foresee us continuing to move in that direction. We'll make sure that we can put together an appropriate naming opportunity for our stadiums and arenas, but that it's something that they could probably see themselves doing eventually before you before you pass or not. Oh, I think they'll name
the stadium in the next couple of years, you know. He said, they've been and he said, Dave said, and I listened to the actual video clip. They've been there. They've been talking about this for a while. This isn't brand new. I think he's just acknowledging that they're getting closer to doing this. I could see us on a stadium getting name. Well, there's so many things going on in the next campus with that. And then I did the story for you guys on the that area whole corner you
talked about that today too. For the business side, they're going to try to do more more student athlete friendly, right. They want to build a whole sort of a commercial area in that corner around Campbell and around Campbell and stay there, I mean Campbell and Street there, you know, and and they want to kind of incorporate all the athletics stuff there for fans, for
students, for athletes, for everybody. It's that I don't see how well it may happen in my lifetime, but I'm gonna be I'm gonna be too old to go hang at the bar, you know, you creepy old dude, you know, coming in with a walker always. Guy, I'll give me at light is a wing, but can you cut up the wings for me, please, sir? That's why we had both. Oh my god, I can't believe we're talking about this. All right? Uh, okay, we go out. We've all have gotten through two items. You We're
running out of time, all right. A couple of a couple of college football music. Cam Rising, the returning quarterback for for Utah, will not play on tomorrow night against Florida. He's got needs some more time to recoup from his knee injury. That he got during the Rose Bowl. Uh So, according to sports Betting Dying, which is you know, Jack McGruder and his group, Uh, Utah's the point spayers dropped from Utah minus six and a half to Utah minus four and a half. I'm still not touching that
game. I mean, they've got a couple of quarterbacks who play, but nonetheless it's not your starting quarterback. H that that that's out there. Did you see Nebraska He's gonna play a volleyball match in the middle of their football field and they sold ninety thousand tickets in this thing. Yeah, I saw that gonna be a world record. Of course, obviously they are what they
are what Arizona basketball would love to be. Yeah, if they've talked about that right over, we're not playing the game outdoors, out out of the stadium or even having red blue out there and just kind of something like that, and that would be fun. That would be especially in the heat here in October. Never the brick wasn't you know. And again I'm sure a lot of this is you know, people be part of history. They said, Okay, I was there for that kind of thing, but you know,
its sounds or something like that. So where were you where? I know we're gonna go over were We talked about a lot of stuff after Where were you when they had the didn't the bet? Who who came in? The who came into the stadium for a control? I did not go because seventy five. So if you were fifteen sixteen, sixteen seventy and there was a lot of people, there were sixty seven thousand, that's probably the most ever that's ever been in that stadium. Yeah, because a lot of funny
stories coming out of that. I didn't go because at my job, I didn't get my my request in to have the night off. So give me a funny story. The week after the factory, Yeah, some some some pot grew out of the out of the turf. Yeah yeah, uh, you know they tore up the field people, and I mean the concert lasted all day. What was it was? It was? It wasn't it was in the heat. It was it was really so it was in the summer.
It was before football, but before football season. And that's why the funny thing about the players are out there, you know, little pot things kept popping up. That's pretty on the field. They ultimately completely took the field out. I think during Dick Tomy's time, they brought they brought turf in from from Tucson, nash And that was the turf at the state for a while though, but that was ten years later. Yeah, that was
much. That was much later, but that was that. That was a big funny thing, is that how much pot grew out of it, out of the out of the turf that year. That's literally, hey, we gotta you probably have a few more. There was a few more things. We got some you know, we can talk about some more stuff, but we gotta we gotta hit our break. We're gonna have h Newman. He's
gonna be I hope he's not listening right now. How are you, Eric, I'm good. Happy to be on the show
with you guys, looking forward to college football starting in Arizona. Yes, yes, two years ago we had you on and we're talking, okay, any us coming down, They're gonna play Arizona, and then we saw what we saw and were you down here at the time. I can't remember, Yeah, yeah, yeah, what did you think? I thought that it was a crazy game. You know, obviously Arizona was in the midst of a big it was the twenty games or something like that that they lost,
right, Nau was kind of you know, rising a little bit. It was. It was just a crazy environment. I've talked to a lot of the guys. I'm still covering the team pretty heavily, and the guys that were around for that game still to remember it fondly. I'm sure the you know, the Wildcats fans would prefer to let that one go. That's why they're playing again two years later. Yeah. No, well I know that
the Arizona fans like me, will never let that one go. That hang I mean that really hangs out there, like the seventy to seven lost to a SU It's just like a black mark on on the program that will never go away. And not to you know, not to badmouth to NAU, but Arizona's supposed to be a NAU and they didn't. And uh, you know, good for those guys. I mean, in the end, you're
excited for the guys from an AU to have had that experience. But you know, from that, was there any uh did it add any momentum to the program? You know certain guys, you know what was the aftermath of that for the program? So it was weird because they ended up that year five and six, which is, you know, not anything to write home
about. It's not terrible, but they actually struggled a little bit in conscious play that year, and then last year they went three and eight, only won two games in conferance, So it wasn't like, you know, what set off this giant streak of Williams or anything like that. It was a
big moment. But coach Chris Ball has actually talked a lot about how the team has struggled after big victory last year they beat and Houston which was one of the best teams in FCS the year before had won the Spring Championship, and then two years later and you beat them in Houston and you know, follows up with a couple of stinkers in a row. And so that's been a big thing, is you know, they get these potentially program changing wins
and then don't follow it up with success later down the road. So if it has the potential to mean something, but they have to follow it up. So how are they looking at this game on Saturday? Two partably very different lineups, rosters and things like that. Yeah, that's exactly right. I mean there are guys around from two years ago, but the same with Arizona. The teams have both changed so much and that's partially because of the
transfer portal and recruiting and everything like that. They look better. Coach Balls thinks that's the best team he's had in is four or five years there, but that just could be coached speak. You never know. They have started to get things ready. That got a good receiving core is kind of their their biggest thing that you ot to solid group of linemen. But it's going to be it's going to hold new transition because it's such a new roster.
I'm sure it's the same thing with Wildcats. Yeah, no, it is. But you know, how how is it? How has that any you been able to kind of manage through the portal because you know, you know Arizona to a degree as a team, you know they lose guys to the programs above them, and certainly you know you're at an EU. You develop a player he looks really good, somebody sees him and says, well,
we're gonna we're gonna pick that guy out of there. How has that any of you been able to kind of manage through all that stuff, both keeping players and then going out and getting players. Yeah, so that's the thing is, it's it's a balance, right because you mentioned it exactly there. There hasn't been a ton, but there's been a few guys like their quarterback R. J. Martinez, who came in two years ago in the middle of the game and played incredibly well against Arizona. I helped Anau get to
win. He moved on. Now he's at Baylor after a couple of good seasons here. He was a star or any of you for two years, and now he is playing and is playing in a big Power five conference. Who knows that Power five are going to exist anymore in a couple of years.
But besides the point, but you're playing at Baylor, and the thing is that they, like Arizona has tried to get a lot of hometown I know that the Wildcats have gotten a lot of guys from other programs that either played high school or have some sort of Arizona ties and gotten them to switch over and transfer over to their school. And it's kind of doing the same thing they're you know, they're getting a lot of guys who, you know, maybe didn't play as much as they wanted at a Power five program or
a bigger, you know, higher caliber school. They got a guy in Kay Milner who was at Cow for a couple of years as a quarterback. Friend Springing played high school football and Gilbert at Hickley High. And so it's been a lot of, you know, a lot of similarities and that they're trying to get people to come and you know, play for what they call a hometown team. So what's the projections for NAU this year? The conference has been pretty low. If they took a vote a couple of weeks ago,
they were predicted to go eight in the conference. That I think it's ten or eleven teams, so not super high from other teams. And that's possibly because they went three and eight last year. It you know, have such a new roster, but they seem to think they're going to do pretty well. I would be surprised if it's a giant winning percentage, but you know, maybe a little bit of improved. So what are they going to look like? You know, the style offense or the defensive team? Are
they gonna throw the ball all over the place? Uh, you know what do we expect to see? So offensively, it's it's hard to tell. It's got a bunch of great receivers, three or four guys that could see legitimately all conference in the Big Skies, depending on how how it shakes out on their receiving corps. And they've got a real group of deep running back
and that there's two or three guys that could all start. If the question whether their offensive line holds up because they lost basically everybody from last year, and then it's a quarterback battle. They have not for jet they have not a fully decided. I'm sure they have internally, but they haven't let everybody know on a starting quarterback yet, and so it depends it. Could it be Angel Flores who's been in the program a year, Could it be Kay
Milner who's a pale transfer. Or they have a freshman Adam Demante, who's been playing pretty well. So I think it depends on who's going to be the starter there and the different styles. Defensively, it's a whole new group. They have got some really good defensive lineman who could who could cause the problems up front, But it's the question of whether the defensive backs and linebackers could hold up too. I'm not sure how well you can answer this question.
It's probably a fullish question anyway. But Saturday should the weather should be okay for two but not so okay for NYU people. You guys live in a in the climate controlled seventy two degrees. I hate you factor. I mean, I wouldn't be surprised. I went to Arizona State for my for my school in college, and I remember games where I'm sitting there in the beginning of the season, it's one hundred and two in the stands. It's going to be like that in Tucson two it's some days and you know it's
tough, and on that perfect it's even hotter. I wouldn't be surprised if it has some sort of factor we cast here, but they they're trying to play it in practice and at least the hottest time we can at this part town. Are there need Tucson guys that you can think of that we can expect to, uh, you know, either make an impact or see on the field. So the one actually I interviewed him today named Daniel or Blaedo.
He played for in Tucson a few years ago. He is uh, he wants to community college and then he spent two years at Missoo before turnings Frink into NAU. He's a defensive lineman, new to NAU this year, So I'm not sure exactly where it'll be on the depth sharp, but I wouldn't be surprised. Did he gets some playing time? Did he play in high school here? Yeah, he played in high school and two sons okay,
and that's part of the only one that seems I have more. No, yeah, they have a few others, but he's the one that subjects to just the most employment from time he played at U at Troya Okay, okay, very cool. Yeah yeah, So they've got a couple other freshman or redshirt freshman from there, but I wouldn't I wouldn't guess that they're going to be on the field of fun. Yeah, okay, you I assume you're coming down again. I'm hoping too, Yeah, yeah, okay,
all right, okay, Well, we're looking forward to it. You know, we're just happy the football seasons on. Right if you're sitting here, you know in Pact twelve countries like dang everything that you know, what's happening
in the last year. How has that been taking up there at NAU, do you guys, uh, you know, talk about it much, think about it much, or don't give one crap about So it's interesting because we actually so coach Chris Ball has a weekly Zoom press conference every Monday, and some people were actually asking him about that because you know, it tangentially affects NAU, but because they're big sky in FDS. It doesn't, It isn't
the same thing. But what it means is, potentially people get frustrated at whatever's happening at these power whatever it ends up being power five, power four, and maybe they want to play it somewhere where it's a little bit more stable, and you don't, you know, necessarily have to deal with a different conference every few years. So it's potentially means something down the road. It's hard to tell, but it doesn't affect them too much, but it
could in the future. Well, Eric, we appreciate your time. Enjoy the weather, what you can up there. If you can drive down here on Saturday, it's not gonna be that bad. It actually can be very low nineties. So actually, I'm not gonna say pleasant, but it's gonna be not horrible. Sounds like a plan, Thank you, Thank you. Will Uh he had to get somewhere too with No, that's cool. I come on, if they lose again, No, you know, I'm no, it's just no, no. But I would have told you this two
years ago. I no, no, I know, I know, I just no, just no. I hear you, I hear you. I don't describe it in fact, in fact, giving your prediction in terms of spread, they'll have one will because it's an FCS versus FBS. Sometimes they'll put one up on Saturday or the day of the game. Okay, you're
looking at what more than thirty? Yeah, I you know, I look, I think that there's a recognition that Arizona could put a lot of points on the board, and so that it may be that, you know, that they think that Arizona will be able to score kind of kind of at will. Whether or not that in fact is true, I don't know, but so that I think there'll be a you know, a feeling that Arizona does get you know, just get just get a bunch of points up there.
But you know, the question will be, you know, it's defense. Yeah, okay, just a reminder too. I just gotta note from Nick. We're not gonna be on Monday, right, all right, Yeah, we need it, that's right. Uh, Monday's labor day. We're gonna take the day off to enjoy our labor. You just don't go into labor, You'll be funny. I'm along past that. I can't I can't go into it. But yeah, we'll be off on Monday, and then we'll be back, uh, you know, on Tuesday to really just kind
of recap everything that you know, happened over the weekend. I think it'll be just a lot of stuff, you know, I'll be tailgating and so we'll see what the atmosphere is is out there. I'm interested to know, you know, it's funny first tailgate because we have a goal. We don't want to be out by the tennis courts when we tailgate. We want to
be in the middle of where all the tailgate is. But you kind of have to gauge, you know what, what's the latest you can come and still sit, you know, still be in a have a good spot. And so we're kind of guessing. But we'll see what. We'll see how it goes. Look, I mean when tom not Tommy what's his name? Jed On on Monday said that at that time he thought that they were over forty four thousand. I haven't heard anything since then. There'll be another press
conference with them tomorrow. I'm sure we'll hear again tomorrow where they are in terms of in terms of tickets for Saturday. Okay, okay, let's let's let's let's hit the road. Here, we'll go back. All right, Hey, just something just came across a guy named Jordan Schultz, who says he's an NFL insider, says, according to his sources, Gary Brightwell has made the team with the Giants. Okay, so he sticks. What's his name still there too? Isn't he the running back? Morris Taylor? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, what's his first name? Taylor? The little guy? Yeah, I saw him played last week? He was. Come on,
Steve, I don't remember. Uh. He's a lot like Well, he was kind of like the han that water but water rug type speedy. Speedy's probably a little faster but still the beach volleyball coaching Arisonta, Steve Walker got an extension today, so he'll be sticking around for a little while. We've had him on the show. You have to get him again. But congratulations for coach Walker. He's done some good stuff over there, which volleyball a very very fun thing. Oh you know, we took We talked to
uh Sean Lara from Miranda Vall uh Flag Football, Mirando Mountain View. The two Miranda flag football teams we're supposed to play tomorrow, but they're not going to because the field feel the water. So they will be playing on October the second. So that flag football game has been moved about a month down the road. So J J. Taylor, J J. Taylor, Come on, man, how come we don't because because we have Victor Taylor US Victor. You you spent some time with Victor last week? Yeah, goody,
good guy? Yeah hey. Uh So a couple of things coming out of that. There was the College Football Playoff Commissioners meeting today. One of the big issues, it's the only big dissues you gotta, resolves the TV stuff. And there's a lot of discussion going into it that they were gonna want the TV Contract Act to include a bunch of different networks. It's kind of like the NFL playoffs does, because NFL Playoffs are They're on CBS,
they're on NBC, they're on ESPN, they're on whatever. And and now they're saying that that's not such a sure thing anymore, and don't be surprised if it's maybe one or two networks showing all of the college football cog. Yeah he was there. Although if you're George Cloff Goff, don't you feel like the you know, the Guilloteam's coming. No, don't you feel like just the dude that doesn't belong there that you're just like, so, well,
he's still getting paid the CEO money. Yeah, but you're just like are you walking the door and you hey guys, and they go, what the hell are you doing? We got nothing. We're already sitting in eleven guys gonna see, we'll see what happens. I mean, they're still out there, they're still whole, right, didn't organ state presidents say we're still gonna try to put the gona try and put it, put it together again. The whole issue money is all that money? What are you gonna do
with that money? Oregon State and Washington State want to hang on to that money. Sure, you know, whether however much of it they get, but they feel that they can attract some teams into a new pack twelve with that money. You see, he think, of course, yeah, we'll see, just see Nick Saban, did you think he won't release the depth chart because he thinks that that he was talking to me? Guys like you, you know, make a big deal out of it when you know,
becaus like the media. Yeah, okay, you know, make a big deal out of it when that you know, he said, you know, the depth chart can change five minutes before the game. But yet, you know, you'll see this guy was supposed to start, and somebody else starts and you think something's wrong. And he said, you guys kind of abuse it as sort of the way he put it. So, so he just doesn't want to put out a depth chart because he doesn't want anybody making a
big deal about this. You know, this guy's starting over this guy, but he hasn't thought about this, he hasn't done this before, or no, this is the first time he's done. So there's gonna be more too. But well, they've got a quarterback bad they got three quarterbacks. That's so he didn't want very you know, everybody's saying it's about the quarterback. He doesn't want to say, well, this quarterback is the starter, he
said. He kind of say said, look, you know, we may have a guy who starts, but by the end of the game he might not be there. Isn't that how every game? It's it's funny these guys, the coaches. The coaches think that the reporters overthink, and the reporters think that the coaches overthink and can't we just get along? But I was gonna say, here was an instant instance where to something and we can bag on something. We do it all the time. Where after a game and
I've never seen this, Jay, I've never seen this until something. So he plays the game, right, he plays the game. How do you think Khalil did well? I can't really talk about that because in the film, what the hell did you just watch? What did you just want? He was on the bench smoke, can't watch And then I asked him the questions, maybe mistakenly two or three games anyway, So what did you see?
I don't do that? What what? Yeah, it doesn't make sense to me, And I get coaches do that, but they at least have an impression, sure, right, Sure, they at least have a bit of an impression. They don't completely say. I don't know what I saw. I'll find out more than the tape. But to me, he couldn't have done this better. Boom, it's over right. I don't I don't get it. I don't get it. But to me, it's a little controlish. Controlish. He was, well, it's next saving I got a
bad word. It's kind of like a control thing too, when you're making four and a half million, whatever you're making. I guess I would be a little that way too. Don't talk to me, to me with with just him, just him. He didn't want to work hard enough to think about it in the moment. Well, that's a good observation. That's didn't he just he didn't want to have to come up with an answer because he was just too damn lazy to do it. He didn't care enough. I
didn't get it. I just didn't get me. That's how I feel about him. He watched the game, didn't give a crap about the game, so therefore felt he was gonna probably sound stupid if he tried to talk about the game, so he just didn't. Yeah, it's funny because there were so many things, even one like our guy, Our guy at thirteen, Damien asked him a question about him growing up and what he did as a kid, and he found it awestrucking that or dumb struck that he was asked
these questions in the press. Commerce who guess what people want to know? It was the only chance you had to talk to him, because he wouldn't pull You couldn't get him on the side. I couldn't get him on the side of world. He's gonna ask that question. Yeah, no, I hear you speaking of coaches speaking out or not speaking out. Dana Holgerson, Houston coaches. He was asked about, you know, Texas leaving and previously Texas A and M and you know, has that made the Big Twelve less
quote unquote desirable. He said, screw them. They can go wherever they want. They don't want us and we don't want them. I'm sure you got on the the guy asked the question because it's not I mean the Big Twelve, the Big Twelve with Arizona going in there. Now, it's not the Big Twelve that he used to be, right, And Houston has long thought they should have been in the Big twelve a long time ago, you
know, a long time ago in there. Then they're finally there. But now Texas and Oklahoma are gone, right, so it's it's a different Big Noble. But you know, here comes Arizona in Colorado. You're ready, Yeah, you're ready. You know what I'm excited about that too, is you get to see Kelvin again. Kilvin still there. Yeah, yeah, yeah, he's old he's close to seventy. Yeah, he was yeah out there. Yeah, so we'll see, we'll see. I look forward to
seeing him. Yeah, I remember, you know, uh, the year Arizona hosted the what was the eighty season and they beat UCLA And remember he literally ran off the court and he's peeling off his jacket and like throwing it in the air. He was so excited having loved him. Yeah, he was a fan of favorite here. Yeah, he really was. He was again one of the nicest guy. I know. We've got in some trouble.
Yeah, it's bad things, but that doesn't mean no. It's like, you know, it's like everybody loves Calvin, but now it's like, yo, you got five bucks, here's ten. Yeah, we don't. We don't worry about stuff like that. Exactly. Put it on the nl n IL list exactly, exactly. No, Yeah, no, it's it's it's funny how that, how that has turned. We're seeing a lot of I'm watching a bunch of videos and stuff of King Griffy Junior's at the US Open, Rob Gronkowski's at the US Open, the tennis tournament. Okay,
all these guys hanging around just enjoying their lives. Man, Yeah, did you see much of the Coco Coco stuff that was kind of controversial? Yeah, didn't pay all that much attention. You know what, I'm gonna start to learn how to do and I hope I don't have a hard tack is pickable pick I gotta figure out how to do it though. Yeah, I've been asking people where to go. Much movement involved? No, that's that's what I said. Hope it. But it's it's uh, you know,
fin the rage, man, it's the rage. Maybe find a ringer I can hang on to. Oh god, wander Frank Franco had another person, young person claiming that they had a relationship with him. But that's up to three now, dude, Man, he's twenty two, right, twenty four? But dude, come on man, oh god, oh god? All right. So no, I you know, I keep seeing pickle ball and I don't know what I want to do. Steve, Who're gonna watch the Tommy Lloyd has a big deal on in October trying to raise money for the
n IL stuff. So I've re I renewed my gym membership. Oh I've gone back to the gym. Oh wait, wait, you have already started. I had one. Yeah, just knocking the doors is still open. No, I have, I've had. I renewed it and I just go do the I just go do the treadmill. You know, let's walk a brisk walk. But then I tried to jog for a couple of minutes and I can't walk half an hour, so like three miles, two miles,
and it's a brisk walk. It's boka. It's faster than I walk when I go walk into No, No, that's cool because I need to start doing that. I need to start doing that. You might insper me, but I got to do that. But I try to jog and I can jog, but then it hurts like hell, and I can't walk for figure stuff jiggle and kind of move around. No, you know, but it's just it's the pounding of the n got a bad right knee. Man, it takes sakes a couple of days to get over it, and then I
can't go back. No, it's good for you. So but yeah, I'm back in the gym. Peter talks about that, and you know Peter, So you go to the gym and this kind of what knock on the door and say Hey, it's just a little bit. Okay, I'll see tomorrow. Oh but no, I'm back over there. But so I gotta get over there tonight after taco Tuesday. No, we had it's spaghetti night tonight. Okay, this is a before after. Oh, I can't go after. I would have to go if I'll barf. If I eat,
then exercise. And I've been like that since I was a kid. I can't eat. You remember the old thirty minutes before you go in the full thing? To me, it was like, if I eat and then run around, I'll yeah. OK So I don't do that, So it would be before dinner. The question is when I get home, am I going to have the enthusiasm because spaghetti's my favorite? Man? You know, I'm just I'm just gonna want to eat. But yeah, I saw, Yeah,
there's a pickleball thing too, a supportman's basketball. I just saw the Dunks and Dunks tournament. Yes, in October, you're thinking about doing that? You know, if I get halfway decent, I might, but I probably won't. But that's a big deal. In fact, we should be having Arizona sist come on board here as an advertiser anytime. Soon, oh night. Yeah, yeah they should, Man, Yeah, so you know, just get the word out. We've had him on a few times.
Yeah, I'll have him back on. So maybe before this tournament. Yeah, that'd be cool. That'd be very cool. All right, all right, Steve Man, what are you got going on in baseball? Baseball? What do you mean? What am I looking at? You? Still love it on your orioles? Orioles. They're just an adopted team because my best friend is is on them. I'm gonna go I'm gonna do something I haven't done in a while. I'm gonna go watch them play on Sunday because they're
coming in. My friends from New mex Score driving in for the weekend to go watch them. So I'm gonna playing Friday, Saturday, Sunday. So I'm going up Sunday to watch them play. Yeah. So spending you one hundred and ten it is not hot enough for me. I just want to go up enjoy the hundred and sixteen. Well, the Dodgers still killing it. I saw twenty two and four. I put some I put some small scratch on them last night, and it wasn't even close. It wasn't last
twenty two and four. So I had a two team or today too with Baltimore and the Dodgers. Wealth that's already been twenty three and four. Yeah, I know you if you're if you're betting, you're doing well. It's crazy, crazy, crazy number. The problem with that those that the numbers aren't great. Right, it's hard to win, but you keep winning, you keep winning. You just keep those times and fifteen cents keep they add up. They do add up, all right, Steve college football man.
