Streamy Live. I mean I heard radio. Wow. This is I on the Ball with Steve Rivera and Jacob Salez on Fox Sports fourteen fifteen. Hey, welcome back toying the ball, you know, Fox Sports fourteen fifteen. I'm Steve, He's Jay because I'm hoping Joe Jay did his homework. This is I on the Ball, breaking news on Fox Sports fourteen fifty. Not a lot of homework, but some homework. You took one of my breaking

news items with Troy Hutchison on the on the phone. But you know the news about Mason Bray, Heath Bray's son, quarterback Scottsdale Sware High School won a state championship six a state championship there last year, has earned a has gotten an offer to be at Arizona, to play at Arizona. His fake Facebook post Facebook Twitter post was great. He had put a picture of his

dad up there in his uniform number fourteen. What a story that would be if okay, and you know, and you know, I think he's coming because his mom you know who she is, right, you know the relationship Coach Smith's daughter, Larry Smith's daughter, Heath Bread's wife. Oh, I didn't have that ex wife the father of well, so yeah, she posted something, you know, so I looked, He's like he's coming, He's gonna come. Wow. So yeah, she's very grateful for this. And

so it's yeah, coach Smith's grandson. Nice the late greats and you have to wear a number fourteen. Such a big story, right, such a big it is. It is a big, a good story. It's just one of those touching things on the football that you know, Yeah, that a program loves to have. I'm not that they under the circum under the circumstances that you know, it just would make all kinds of sense if if if the son would come, become to Arizona and continue his dad's legacy or

or add to his legacy. So that would be that would be great. So so there's that. So, uh, speaking a little bit of Final four to you. So this came across a little bit ago. The average ticket price for a women's Final four Friday session, which is the two games, okay, four fifty. Oh you're low, really you're low. What is the starting ticket price? I should say? What is seven dollars for one? For one? Yeah, Cleveland, what's the switch? The last

year's the average was four seventy nine. What's the what's the size of the building. I wanted? It's it's a regular Arena's Cleveland where it must be? Where the Cavaliers because because uh, because I have two for for Monday. You have a couple of tickets on Somebody says, can you see if you have friends that want to buy? Yeah, yeah, they're not mine. Yeah, not mind someone they want me to see if I help some

people. Pretty cool, very cool. Yeah, So Women's Final four tickets going going crazy again, you know, keeping the the the narrative that it's women's women's basketball isn't. No, but it's different in fact, in fact, the guys from last sight, I guess a bunch of grump people then say the game has changed. It's no longer slow. No, it's not. It's it's a different game. I mean they play, they play. I mean they're good basketball players. Yeah, they're really good basketball And not

to say the other ones weren't till the previous ones weren't. This year, it's just different. There, there's more of it, all right, Okay, since you're since you're out of it. Latest odds for the men's Final four, mm hmm. You can two to one minus one ninety five one and half Perdue. It's two to one two five, yeah, plus two five. Then North Carolina State and Alabama both at plus sixteen hundred. Yeah, long odds for uh sure the other two you never know though. Final

fourth kind of strange. If the battle gets hot, they start shooting the lights out against Purdue, don't and don't have to worry about it. I wouldn't be surprised. Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised. And and I guess if there's a team, I mean North Calina State is playing Purdue. I guess if there's a team physical enough to take on Purdue, it would be North Carolina State. You know the maybe maybe you know Edie gets neutralized a

little bit with the big guy that North Carolina State has inside. But those are those are the odds. So if would you put it on Yukon if you had to put something down, Yeah, but that's number now Yeah, well no, not at that number, but I mean if you had, if I had to, yeah, yeah, but you could have got him at four or five six earlier. Yeah. So your Buffalo Bills are trading away the all the pieces to the team that should have won a Super Bowl

sometime in the last three or four years. Stefan Diggs got traded this morning to Houston for a second round draft pick and a couple of other things thrown in a bag of balls and stuff like that thrown in there. But Digs going to Houston to play with CJ. Stroud, which should be interesting, right, Yeah, no, it should be Buffalo takes another hit. Yeah,

the talented team that loses some talent. Today was one of those you saw one of those uh means you're seeing that picture where where Will Smith is standing in the empty living room? They always posted when you know, where did everybody go? And they had the same living room, but it was Josh Allen sitting on the floor. It's like Josh Allen, I remember that. No furniture, no furniture, no nothing. Josh Allen in the in the in the Bill's locker room. This is funny. Okay, this is

funny. So we know those games all in the Northeast. Rain delays a lot of rain outs every day. The Reds and the Phillies are are waiting out of rain delay and they're gonna wait waited out as long as they possibly can because they can't play the game tomorrow at the Philly Stadium at Citizens Bank

Park because there's a wedding schedules. Really, you know, how I should they scheduled a wedding in the middle of baseball, well, at the beginning of baseball season at the at the Phillies Ballpark and uh and uh imagine the people throwing stuff at that. Yeah, so the people upset about that. News about our friend Evan Mayakawa. Evan who's been on our show a few times. He developed this analytics uh program or whatever you would call it.

That a lot of people use. We you know, we refer to it all the time, basketball stuff, a lot of media us and stuff like that. He's had a job uh uh I don't know where where was it working. He was at a number of tech like a he was like an engineer. Anyways, he's this this thing has turned into a business venture for him, so he's leaving it to to do this uh this work full time with his college basketball analytics. If you've never looked him up his uh his Twitter feed is at Evan MYA E v A N M I y A.

You can look him up there. His website is the same thing Evan dot com. You can see some stuff, but most of it is subscription, but it's a lot of good information. I've yet to subscribed to him because what we've needed we've been able to get for free. But he's been on the show a few times, so very interesting stuff that the guy who really built his own company, you know, from just being a smart dude. Yeah, no, no, and he's got something. I mean, he's

got something. And then the geekshell inherit the earth and he's he's one of them. Yeah, because he's got something. He's like the what do you call it, the bracketology guy. Yeah, you know when you come up with some kind of fun and people are starting to quote him and to analytic him and all that stuff. Yeah. Yeah, But I'm just I'm trying

to look at this because I didn't. I can't, I haven't just this just came up from the Arizon, the Daily Star, but it says that Roman Bravo Young will be wrestling for will be representing Mexico and the US. Oh really just the or just Mexico. I think just Mexico. Okay, I could be wrong. Okay, So anyway, but he so he's been

wrestling for Mexico in the Olympics, which is which is very cool. So I guess I would imagine that if if if I dreamy human doesn't make the US team, that you would have the shot, because isn't it if your grandparents are from another country, you can represent that country, right? Yeah? Which is how freaking Josh Green got up in this in the Ring of Honor, you know, you and another well guess what, And there's some people that don't like this too, but Caleb Love is going to be up

there too, because Packed twelve census all American. I packed up players, but you're just an all American. The wouldn't a prominent one. And then Packed twelve. How do you? How do you, mister grumpy, how do you feel? You know, I wouldn't mind if they put a a requirement that they have to play two years here before you can get in the Ring of Honor. Yeah, that's that's the The barn is already you'd have

to go back the barn already, go back and review that. But the barn doors again because guys like you know, Zeke Nod, Josh Green, even DeAndre Aight, you know those guys don't be long The Ring of Honors, you don't even know them, made an impact, right, you know, on a program for a period of time, not six months. Yeah, in recent and recent to Twitter that I saw that Damon was trying to advocate for. Maybe it was a recent one, a little we TJ McConnell.

Eventually, TJ McConnell will be in because he's got to get ten years in the NBA. Yeah. And if there's a guy that did over these old guys right right, you know for the I mean, he only played two years here because of you know, the traffers. But if there's a guy who had an impact because not only was he a great player, he was he was a dude and he was a guy that that that might be a little biased of you and me, but he was. He was talking

about being a dude and accessible and good. Not just accessible. I'm talking about you could tell that even though he didn't start his career here, it meant something for him to wear the Arizona uniform and that team would not have been that team that it was. You know, go to go to DeAndre Ayden's closet, Go to Zeke Nadger's closet, Go to Josh Green's closet. And are you gonna find an Arizona jersey? Probably not, probably not, But if you go to if you go to T. J. McConnell's,

you probably will. Yeah, Well, you get an isolation talked about. He got an insulation when he was here for the the meth room. And that's what I'm talking about, is that to be up there, the school needs to have meant something to you. And and there's there's a few people up there who you know, it meant nothing to that. It meant an opportunity to play for six months. Buckle up, it's gonna continue to know, Well, yeah, because of what we're in the sufficial where now where

guys are gonna come and go, you know, for a year. But you know, Caleb look, I like Caleb Love. I I respect him for how he came here and handled his stuff at Arizona. We all had doubts about that, right. But do I think Caleb Love is going to go home and bleed red and blew the rest of his life? I don't. I don't believe he will. Well, he think finally of Arizona. Sure, you think think finally of North Carolina too, And he probably would

have thought finally of Michigan if you're gone. Well, here's what I don't think Arizona is in his blood. No, And here's the issue with North Carolina who somebody yesteh. I was with the guy who who was sitting in the Arizona area last Thursday and next to some North Carolina fans, and he told me that the North Carolina fans reached over and said, I'm glad you have him this year. Yeah, and of course, of course was his

wordness. And during the interviews of the day before, he said he left because there was a lot of negative publicity because of how he played and who he was. And guess what a year later kind of getting the same stuff. Yeah, yeah, So you know, Uh, I don't know. This is interesting. So an anonymous poll of ninety five Double A tournament players, uh, only two said that Kim Mulkie is a coach that they would

want to play for. I don't disagree with him. Down Staley at South Carolina, you know, with the landslide winner in in that In that the only only two of the coaches got more than five votes, and they were Gino Ariema at Connecticut and then Kentucky's Kenny Brooks. And then when they voted for who they would least like to play for, because when they vote for who they would most like to play for, she only got two votes. Then when they said who would you least like to play for her, she

was voted the most one that they would least like to play for. Don't not a shock. I haven't read the story, though you'll see you want you read the story, you'll understand why. You understand why I think today's kids, today's kids aren't that now. Bobby Knight, his eric came and left Molki's time as a coach, and she's a brilliant coach. Obviously, you don't win by accident. Uh, it's just that style doesn't work anymore, even though they won a title last year. Let mean yeah, playing

under fear is a tough thing. And in my story with uh with Tommy for you guys two sons, just a few months ago, I don't know if I remember saying this, writing this. He was the perfect dude after Sean, perfect dude. Yeah, because Sean was his way right right, and Tommy let them loose, Yeah yeah, yeah exactly, he did cut you know, yeah, hell, let them relax, is what he did, and that's they've been able to do what they've been able to do.

Absolutely. All right, should we take our break down? Yeah, all right, we're gonna have uh a Ken Hockey the Pema baseball coach just got his two hundred win over at Pima. Not Jason Hawk. No, I got I got this down. I got this down. Well, we will have him on the phone. We'll talk a little bit about what's been going on over at Pima Baseball. So be sure to stick around. Breaking down all the exes at all It's Steve Rivera and Jagen Salvias. This is I on the Park on Fox Sports fourteenth fifty Hey Welcome back to Eye on the Ball Hero Fox Sports fourteen fifty. I'm Steve, He's Jay. Now on the phone, we have Ken howckemy beat Pima Pastics baseball coach, the surging pastics coach. How are

you right right? You appreciate you guys having me on because you should. You're you're killing it a lot of a lot of wins lately. What's going on. We're just trying to play the best baseball we can at the right time. So our guys are doing a good job and we're just kind of collect as many wins as we can and trying to get the postseason plays. So from from year to your coach, do you are your teams different? A vastly different, A little different? How different do they get, you

know, from year to year? Yeah, I think I think every year there's a little different. Uh, you know, you have a little bit different teams. Sometimes they can really pitch, sometimes they can really pitch. Sometimes they're big and strong, sometimes they can really run. I mean, so every year we have a different group and we're just trying to put them all on the field and see what the best way is for us to win games. So in that regard. I was gonna say, in that regard,

how is this year's team different from last year? Uh? You know, last year we're really left handed on the mound. This year we're not. This year we're primarily right handed. Uh. Our pitchers have done a great job. I mean, we're really deep on the mounds. I really like our our guys on the mound. Offensively, we're uh, you know, we're good, We're not great, So we have to do things the

right way. We got to be able to move runners or runners when we get opportunities, play short game when we need to, so, you know, we got to manufacture run and if we can do that, our our pitching staff has done a great job of keeping the other team from scoring. So, uh, that's kind of what what our team looks like this year. Kind of sounds you're scouting right now or something at a baseball game or something. But they've won ten. Yeah, I am, I'm watching.

I'm watching some some guys that we signed for next year. I'm watching Cdeo and Catalina Foothills play right now. So yeah, you know, it's it's that's part of the job. If you're not out recruiting and looking for players and trying to find players. You're falling behind, right, So that's kind of where we're at right now. Let me tell the stats. So you've won ten out of twelve recently, you're thirty two and ten and you've won

thirty or more games five straight years. Wow, it's been fun. It's been a good it's been it's been a good, good ride so far. And you know the thing about it is, we feel like we've built something here where people are interested in coming to PEMA and play. So you know, when that happens, you feel good about where you're at and it's much easier to recruit players because there's a little bit of a tradition there. So that's kind of where we're at. So it was duly noted. I think

it was last week that you won your two hundredth game at Pima. How meaningful was that to you? You know, it's just a number, it really is. I mean, obviously it didn't mean something, but you know, that's uh, we got to talk about all the people that were involved, all the players that gave us a chance, and all the coaches that helped us win those games. It certainly wasn't me, right and I'll never take full credit for that. You know, I'm the one that gets to

win by his name. But at the end of the day, there's so many people that were involved in helping us win those games, and I'm certainly thankful for each and every one of them. Yeah, no, shot. So let me ask you a question because I'm looking at your record. You guys are nineteen and three at home, nine and seven on the road. Is there a home field advantage in JC Baseball? Really or not? You

know, I don't know if there is, but there is. I mean there's just something about being at home, something about you know, waking up in your own bed, coming to the park, doing things on your schedule, not having to get on a bus, you know, things like that. So I mean, as much as you don't think that there's a big advantage of playing at home, I think there really is. You know, guys are just more comfortable, have you. I know you your team is

different this year, But have you changed as a coach? Have they made you change as a coach? You know, if you if you don't change as a coach every year, then then you're going to struggle. I mean, part of coaching is adapting to to what you have, the type of players you have, and you know, you've got to continue to learn and

get better and change things for the better. So I mean, yeah, there's been some changes, and I'm certainly not the same coach I was, you know, twenty five years ago, and so you know, it's just times change and coaches change and kids change, and so you got to you got to, you know, work with that and develop kids in different ways. But at the end of the day, I mean the goal is still the same, win as many games as possible, develop kids and move them

on to the next. But well, we'll going to that a little bit, because you know, you know, every sport is being affected by things going on at the at the Division one level or the you know college level that you know, transfer players moving on. How have the players the types of players that you're getting now, has that been impacted and has that changed with the things that are going on at the higher level you know a little

bit, a little bit. I mean, it's it's kind of a crazy world with Division one transfer portal and the n I L and just things like that. Kids get wrapped up and into wanting to go Division one. I mean, obviously that's the that's the majority of kids that play sports as their goal is to play at a Division one school. And so when they get that opportunity, lots of them jump on it and and they go out and and they get to the school and then they have to sit and watch and

then and then the game isn't as fun as it used to be. So I get some of those kids who have come back. I mean, I've got a couple of kids, you know, so we're at New Mexico last year. I got to hit some long beach stay the kids from Illinois. I mean, I've got some kids that went out and tried it and uh decided it wasn't the best thing for them, and and they wanted to get

on the field. So they're back here and helping us win games. Do they come back with a different approach maybe than they might have had if they had just come straight there. I think I think a lot of them do, yeah, because they understand what it takes to play at that level and they all want to get back to it. So they just want to, uh, they want to work, They want to work hard, they want to work on some of the deficiencies that they had that kept them from playing

at that next level. And uh, you know, so they get to the US and they go to work and they want to they want to get better so they can move back to the schools that they either were at or different sits. I know this is a bad word to use, and I want to say it not knowing nothing, not meaning it this way. So there's been a lot of success at PEM up soccer, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's or other sports as well. Is there pressure to succeed?

And I don't even mean pressure the other word is mean or to sustain that success. I wouldn't say there's pressure. I mean, you know, I mean obviously there's you know, with with all the great programs that we have at PEMA, I mean there's there's a mindset that we all have that we all want to be good and we understand that. H there's a lot of sports that do a good job and win championships, so we all want to be a part of it. So I think it's, uh, you

know, it's one of those things. As a coach, you want to make sure that you're doing what you can do. Beca is doing what she can do Todd and Bryan and so everybody. Everybody wants to be good and because the other sports are good, and so I don't think there's any pressure. There's just a lot to be good. And that's why are our athletic

program is great. You know. We have a lot of good coaches there that all have the same goal and uh, and we get players and we coach them up and we develop him and we win games and we move him on. And so we're all proud of that. Talking about moving on your your the boss is going to be moving on, So there could be change at the top. There could be well there there's not going to be there, so it'll be interested. You know, obviously we're all going to be

interested in seeing what happens there. Monico has done a great job and we all, uh, we all are going to miss him and what he's done for our programs. And now it's just going to be uh trying to figure out who's next and what we can do to help support that person. Yeah. So, uh, I think a lot of us have known Jason for a long time. Has it been coaching with him? Is he you know, is it been do you guys get I mean? Is there any brotherly things going on? Do you give each other stuff? I mean, how's

the relationship on the field with with with him there? Oh, it's been great. I mean, you know, we we spent so many years apart, you want our own things, and me coaching in the state and playing pro ball, our families living away from Tucson, and now to be home and be here together and be able to see him every day, it's been awesome. And uh, I certainly appreciate every minute I have to spend with

him because I've missed so many years. And he's just a great asset to have and make serience and he has at the highest level can help all of us. So you got about the first the first week of April. What's left with you guys or for you guys? Well, we have, uh I think we have. Let's see fourteen games less I believe, and uh you know this is the this is the toughest part of our schedule. So we've got Eastern Arizona coming on Saturday, and then we played Central Arizona on

Tuesday, both at home. Central's right number two in the country. They're really really good. They beat us twice at their place. But like I told our team, hey, you guys are the champions. I believe you're the best team in the conference. You just have to play like the best team. And if we do that, we'll we'll we'll come out we'll come out on top. So you know, we we've just got to we've got to buckle down and play our best baseball here to finish the year. Okay,

well, coach, we really appreciate your time. Good luck the rest of the way. A lot of games have you played. I appreciate it. Thanks, thanks for having me on, and we're looking forward to finishing the year. Good luck. Thank you, coach. Talk to you soon, all right, all right, have a goot, good one. Thanks, thank you. It's funny. It's funny to me. He's not that old. I mean talked about he's been doing it for a long time,

twenty five thirty years whatever, is uh to me. They're fairly young, younger than yeah, so let's say say he's fifty, is that yeah, So you know, started when he was really young coaching. Now. I love Jason. He played on that city league baseball team with a couple Rich knows him. This was actually really fun. I know, if I've ever

told this. It's actually a really funny story because since he was a pitcher, I didn't we could have a designated hitter, right, And so this one day, you know, we had we had a couple of extra guys, so I'd wanted to play. You know, I was the one who made the line up. I would have play as many guys I can't. So he was gonna pitch, and then I had a designated hitter for him. And Rich told me, comes up to me and says, why are you d you know, why are you d hing for Jason? I said,

well, he's a pitcher. He goes, he was a pitcher in the major leagues. He's hit major league pitching. He's probably the best hitter on the TV. You're right, let me change that up. Sure enough, Jason. But he was a great hitter. These pictures that he was seeing and he's playing, he's played. He's like you remember the dog truck. Yeah, he's an a dog and he'd be able to win the race.

Yeah, he was. He was fun. He was very fun because you know what was great about him when he played with us was that he wasn't caught up in who he had been. He was just starting to playing baseball with his friends and have some fun. This. Yeah, he didn't big time anybody. Uh, you know, he showed up for games if we had him play left field and play left field or first base or whatever

and he pitched. Did he smoke him? Now? Because you know by that time, he wasn't throwing like he would throw the major leagues, right he was, you know, he just I mean, he was a really good pitcher, but I'm saying he didn't just you know, smoke everybody. I mean, same with Joe Estes. Remember he played, he played you know, hight level. He was in that league. And I could hit Joe because he didn't throw hard. The problem was all let me see this

way. I felt like I could hit Joe Estes because Joe est just didn't throw hard. But you know what, he never threw a ball over the plane. Everything was on a corner and that and that's what made the difference between you know us who you know who pitcher just tried to throw it over the plate and you threw it down the middle, and a guy like Joe who would pick a spot throw it to there. He was you know, Jason. Both Jason and Joe were really good pictures in that league. But

they didn't blow people away. He didn't throw so hard he blew people away. Went put it that way. But he was really he was really good and he was fun. Like I said, he was fun to play with. He was he was a crack up. Okay, you let's just take a break and then come back, all right, have more people to call in or whatever. More time. We'd love to hear from your five two,

You have never called Collis and let us know how we do or what we say is full of it.

I got come up to me at Bop Domsay listens to the show. He remembered me from our TEP days. I unfortunately being the brain dead guy that I am. I couldn't remember him, but he came up and we talked a little bit, and then he said he listens to the show and he loves us to make a comment about the quality of our sound at some times. And we know that, we know that, but it was good to you know, somebody out of the blue come up and say that they

love this. You might explain the dead air too, because I just got a text here that day. You guess it's part of the national Yeah, we can't do much about it. Yeah, at the beginning of each hour, it starts like that. But yeah, so very cool. But would love to hear if you've got some thoughts on this final four coming up. Men's are women's right, Yes, you know we I mean I've been paying attention to the women's as well. I think you have. And it's it's

those are some compellings. Whereas the page Backer story, I mean, what you know, the Connecticut player, you know, suffer from you know, horrific knee injury. She was thought to be like the generational player coming up, and then she was Cleitland Clark before Kitland Clark was exactly she had that knee injury, but she she didn't have a knee injury at the time that

Arizona beat them in the final four. Yeah, you know they beat them with her on that team, playing playing well, and uh you know that's been you know, the thing that the Arizona has been able to hang its hat on. But you know, there's her, There's Kaitlyn Clark, there's you know, you got South Carolina who's undefeated again. Yeah, players, you know, the North North Carolina State men and women both in the Final four in the same year. It doesn't happen very often. I think it's

maybe second or third time. Well yeah, what Yukon did it a few times to wellni, Yeah, because went back when Yukon women were going to the final every year they've been to like twenty four, twenty Yeah, you know, so so anytime Yukon men made the final four, they kind of and another topic, maybe do you think Boswell will stay? Will he go? Do you care if he stays or goes? I think people care, you know, in terms of they want to know what's going to happen.

I don't think people will be heartbroken if he leaves, and they won't be pissed off. Last year at this time last year, not this time, but March early March, mid March Twitter when the first round loss, people want he well and Boswell's ta because memory he was huge in that game. He just didn't play enough in that game. A year later, Yeah, here we are, here, we are take off, get out man. Fans are fleeting. Man, dude, Man again, what have you done

for me lately? Man? Win for me now and I'm happy. But you don't win for me later, I'm not happy. There was a story in Athletics you probably have it. I don't have subscription anymore, by Dana O'Neill, and she's obviously a very good writer and very insightful. She did a story how game wagering, in game ragering, in game wagderm dude has what it's meant to the bench warmers? The bench? Oh yes, I saw that. Did you read it? Yes? What did it say?

They couldn't get to it that these kids at the end of the bench are being abused what like on social because because somebody keeping lead, somebody needs the over or they need to keep a lead, and they put these guys in and they miss it. You know, they take their shots, they play their game and then you know, they miss a free throw and they cast somebody and they're getting abused on social media over that. Yes, I did read that. Yeah, so I didn't know what it was. That's what

it was about. But it makes atal sense because you go to games and I go to games, and you see these guys and buyers cheering or not cheering because of that. Right. Yeah. No. Look, one of the funny things that if you ever if you've ever been there for that, and this was in Vegas before all the social media, I mean all the online gambling began and backed off tournament in Vegas. You if a game was on a points spread or on an over under, there was audible evidence of

that. You heard fans screaming and yelling on every basket. A game might have been completely out of hand. The one I remember the most was, or it was I think it was a championship game that Oregon was in, and there's two free throws at the end of the game, and he needed to make the second one to you know, to cover the spread, and he missed and there was an audible, i mean really loud of all the people who lost the bet because he missed his free throw at the end of

the game. The game was over. The game, didn't you know? The free throws didn't matter to the game, but they mattered to all these people who put money on the game that goes on now at all the arenas. That happened in Michale, So you didn't play the Tommy Lloyd and the clubs and coach questions from from the AP writer about the rule prop thing. If Tommy just said, I'll think about it, but the other coach said,

yeah, it needs to stop. To stop. It does because because it started like in the n the NBA right the week before he's it's just done that. And that's where that's where there aren't enough safeguards in place to keep stuff from happening before it happens, right, you know, And and little bits of things if you do, if you have prop bets on individual college players, you know, that is that's easy targets for you know,

kind of unscrupulous people out there. I'm I'm in total agreement with not allowing Now they don't allow them in Arizona, so we don't even have the option. But I'm in total agreement that those should be banned across the board. And for those you who don't know what we're talking about. Prop bet is when you're betting on a certain player to do what to do a certain thing, and over under three point shots, over undrawn points, over undrawn rebounds,

uh whatever. When you're because that, you know somebody can just say here, you know, here's here's ten grand just make sure you don't hit three three pointers tonight. How easy is it for a player to do that. Let's take this goal. Hi, you're on the air and line on the ball. Yeah, this is Robert. I got to tell in. I don't know if you're talking about Boswo happy or I hope the guy leaves.

I don't know. Can you guys explain what Tommy Lloyd's devotion to this kid was, even when he stunk the last eight or ten games of the season. You have Bradley and kJ Lewis on the bench, and he just kept in serving Bosro And just one more comment, when we tied the game at fifty six against Clemson for some dumb reason, Voyd and serted Boswell back in the game things, we just lost our mojo at that time, and

the kid does I don't think the kid cares. He's he disn't know of Kurk cries if he asked me. Yeah, well, I think the reason for Tommy doing he's a loyal dude. He's a loyal dude, and had he not continued his loyalty to him, Boswell would have faded away. And not that he did anyway, but he was faded away anyway. No, no, I know that, but you don't know that's going to happen,

and it did happen, but his confidence would have been totally gone. And he's a good kid, except that when he faded away doesn't make I'm not saying he's not a good kid. Because one of the guys on the other station kept saying was potential is potential? Well, you have to have results if you had potential. I mean I had potential as a baseball player, but I mean I wasn't good enough to play pro, but I had potential. Well they say that, you know what they say about potential, you

haven't realized it yet. And then he's exactly right. I kind of hope he leaves because I'd like to see Lewis and Bradley in the backcourt starting next year or whoever. You know, Hopefully they'll both return, and I think the two guys that transferred, I think what was the guy's name with him? Yeah, no, I thought I thought he could play. And I was a Philly fan too, So you know he'll find players and the guys coming in are going to be very good. I just don't trust freshman.

Yeah, nobody does an when they're playing again. But I mean the way everybody was bricking the three point shots against Clemson that Uscus probably could have hit two or three and maybe got us in the game or kept us in the game. And you know, Tommy Lloyd, to me, he chose just like just like Sean Miller in the tournament. He's and and I pray to god one of these days he figure out out how to beat up uh his own defense. Well, how long have you been in wait? Wait wait,

how long have you been an Arizona fan? And out of ten, what would you rate you as a fan? Oh? Out of ten? Yeah, I'm a diehard basketball fan. I'm a ten out of ten basketball fan. I mean I've been a fan. We used to I remember we used to walk into Micheale Center when who was a coach? Ben Vindsay was a coach. Oh God, we walk We used to walk in at halftime at the games because there was like a thousand people in the you know, the arena there. So when Luke came, I've always been a fan and

I just you know, it hurt to me. I hurt when they lose. You must win, and you must hurt, get frustrated at the coaching not you know, not making adjustments. Well, I hope your heart continues to be an Arizona fan because it must hurt. We all heard like that. I mean you guys, you guys, including you J because you've been here forever. God, the torture you guys have been through. Yeah,

my torture has always been about football. I look, I love basketball, and I'm upset when they blow out, you know, in a in an NCAA tournament. I was happy to have been at the at the championship in ninety seven. But it doesn't it doesn't stick with me the way football does. It does well, even then, it's been a tough road a down.

Football has been the worst. Yeah, especially with the promise because what was it ninety four ish, ninety ninety three ish on the cover SI, Yeah, ninety four ninety four, So you on the cover after a great year right now, and then that happens. Yeah, I mean, come on, and then the same thing in ninety eight, talk about expectations,

and then the same thing in ninety eighth. Ninety eight was almost worse because that team had gone twelve and one because of stupid fumble in the Miami u c l A game, they don't get to the Rose Bowl, and that, you know, everybody was back, we thought, and then they got blitzed at Penn State and that wrecked their season. In that particular year, I was so wearing a two sound electric and we were we were a big sponsor, so I got to go on the sponsor two pence road trip no

to the Oregon State game. Towards the end of the year. I had to go to Oregon State and and I had sideline passes and nobody cared and they lost and they lost to Oregon State, and I had to sit there and listen to Oregon State fans. They were yelling at me, and I'm like, I'm not even I'm not even part of the team, you know, and they're yelling at me. And I had to sit through that. You must have been wearing a red jersey, you know, I was on the ears on the sideline, so they ye know, I had to be

in Arizona. You know, somebody with Arizona. My wife and I are on the sideline. Then they're yelling at us. It doesn't happen here. These people are nice people. I couldn't. I could have gotten in a fight that night. I could have. I couldn't. There was no fans never le remember that game. It was that game. It was foggy.

Remember that fog came over that That could have been everything I know, But and it was like and the and they lost, and they ended up going six and six that year, and it was like yeah worse, Yeah, yeah, you know, And I don't know the history of football like it is. You know, Basketball expectations are what they are, and they never live up to them. In football a time or two. That happens too,

yeah, you know. But you know, fans suffered. You know, the Purdue fans have been suffering since nineteen eighty to get to a Final four, right, and they've had chances. I mean, they were one of the regionals that I worked you know, worked at up in uh up in Phoenix. One year Matt Painter busted a busted a clipboard overs over his leg and the you know ud I mean, you know some you know we've seen those things, so you know, I mean there's Ata fans that suffered,

but there are other fans that suffered as well. Duke fans are suffering right now. North Carolina fans are suffering right now. Houston fans are suffering right now, you know because you know why because you think about the most recent thing. Right Houston fan isn't sitting there saying, well, we've been there in X amount of years. They're suffering because they had a great team

this year, sure all year long. Yeah, or ranked number one a lot a good part of the year, and they couldn't get out of the Sweet sixteen. So so Chris has been in here a couple of times. Obviously he wants since twenty dollars because he had un and I said, they're not gonna win because it's two to one again, And I thought the criplin I would have been Houston for me. I thought Houston would be able to

muscle them and get them out of the rhythm. Yet, well, I'm gonna get him twenty bucks because to be that were that team you've saw him play. Yeah, there were a bunch of piranhas. They were until they were until they weren't until that one. Well, and you know, you don't know if that beating they took against Iowa State, you know, created a little bit of a hangover for them or some vulnerability, doubt in their

in their minds that when you know things weren't going well. Uh you know in the in the Sweet sixteen that you know that they you know they got beat but you know, you just don't know who goes through these guys' minds. And again, when you when you're dealing with these you know, young guys, you know, you never know what's affecting them. You know, did you know, did did you know Caleb Love have a bad night with his girlfriend the day you know, the day before the game with you know,

with Clemson. I mean, you just you just don't know what's you know, within these guys brains. And you know, during all these times, and it's tough, and you know, the Arizona fans who bleed for this stuff. Look, there's not one Arizona fan who felt as bad as any of the players of it. Sure, of course, that's one of the things that I think I think people lose sight of is that, you know? They they said, well he didn't care, Yes he did, Yeah, yes he did. Of course you do. Of course you do.

Except that except Deandrey and True and Trier and that was just bad. That was and you kind of maybe if you would have been smart, you said this could happen, it would reverted to the first games of the year. Remember went to the Bahamas. Obamas lost three in a row and I lost. I lost three bets on that team right out of the box.

Yeah, well, because because you honestly thought that this was going to be a huge Yeah, I was in Vegas huge and and and then the funny thing is they lose the first one, they're not going to lose again, and the second they're definitely not losing again. I recall, I recall I put more money on the third game. Cha, let's take this call. You're on the aar and on the ball. Hey, No, I was just trying to help with easing our pain and just get us to the five

stages of Greece and get to the acceptance level. I'm die hard and life long, but and the easiest comparison for me are the Dallas Cowboys so good in the nineties, but just a lot of talk ever since then, nothing since two thousand. So just once we get to that level as the city and community will be fine, you know, pay the players, let them be in commercials in Saita and stuff, and then whatever happens happened. But that's my advice. Who called yesterday done? And what was he saying?

That'll be fine? Thank you for the thank you for the confirmation. Yeah, we sink to like to stop calling our blue buds or like you know we have I have the Cowboys and you know champions. Well, let me tell you something. For the first time it well in a long time, Jay has taken my advice. He's not calling him a blue blood anymore. He's sat back and realized he was wrong. They still can be, but

they aren't now. And kind of like bridging back on sports betting and stuff, you know, I learned this during the PAC twelve tournament two years ago and stuff before online betting. You bet against them, you know, and that's finding your conscience. Bet against them for the other team that went to the amount that you're comfortable losing, so that when they lose you get some money. You at least get a coffee or a dinner or something stuff.

So I bet against them, you know, several times this year, and especially the last game. I don't think I was the one who cursed them, but I ended up getting a nice you know prize out of what I thought was going to happen anyway, Reverse psychology. Yeah, yeah, well thanks for the call. Take care. Yeah, I mean, you know, people do that, right, I'm gonna feel good one way or the other. Right, I'm gonna I'm gonna bet on him if I if I win, and if I'm gonna bet against him if I lose. You there

you go, all right, Well that was fun. It's been fun. So one more day. We're off Friday, so we'll be back tomorrow. We'll really try and preview up the Final Four.
