UM announced Wednesday with the Double m z A UM. They began play on Monday MAYA at the Lonnie Pool Golf Course. UM. They are amongst twelve teams that will be playing in the tournament. All right. One of them is a SU. So they're in a region with a SU three
in Hawaii. So it is no Raleigh Carolina. But I saw that A. I think they're the number five seed in the region or five seed in the region, and as US the number two seed in the region. So they're up there with the Sun Devils. That that doesn't sound like fun? Yeah. Uh. Next the Walkouts are led by Um Guyleie Bailey Starcut and Carolyne um Well Grady yep um two of their players, and they are one of twelve teams all be playing in the tournament. Like you guys mentioned already.
UM. Next up, the Arizona Walkouts baseball team just closed out under underfeed a homestand with a victory over New Mexico Lobos yep tuesday night. UM at home. Um. They've one went like six or seven in a row the last eleven, nine of the last eleven, we've established that they could be those teams. Well they're but they're on a winning streak in the Pac twelve two. So there's mister positive. Yeah they are. They've they won a whole bunch in a row. The cool thing about you know they had
New Mexico last night is Todd Brown. So being a high school kid, I got to play baseball with him when he was at the U of A. He's yeah, I gotta I saw that Greg Hanson wrote a columnbout him. I gotta see head to go and read and see how he's doing. There's a lot of those guys out there that ye. So after after Todd's a freshman season at Arizona. He had to stay in town to go to summer school, so he didn't go off to one of the baseball camps or
whatever. So Jerry kindall last if we would, if he could pitch for us, We said, sure. He puddy won the game. Well, he threw so much for us. He missed a good chunk of the next season because we wore him out. He basically pitched every game because he was the only real pitcher we had. We overuse the rules. But well, no, we played twice a week, We played, you know, two
times a week, and so we just let him throw everybody. So you loaded up in the front end, and the kid said, you know, we and you know, if we could get through you know, four or five innings, that's all we needed to do. So yeah, but no, he you know, he he did great, and he's a good guy, and so it's good to see that he's, uh, you know, he's doing this, Like I'm gonna go read that, read that column and see what what he's been up to. with the Nuggets second to plus three thirty. They have no bench, Like I've been watching their games in its past series and they just have five players. Are you talking about the Suns? Like, I just don't see how they can match up in the seven game series against Nuggets to keep up

allegedly striking two women with a folding chair. UM. Apparently after the game yesterday against Denver, on his way out of the of the quart he picked up a chair and swung it, striking the security guard UM and two women. My source confirmed the incident and said UM that the both employees were injured and asked if allow charges. Did he mean to hit him or did he

I said, who would you rather have Kawhi Leonard for fifty let's say, fifty five games of an eighty two game season. Would you rather have that or a guy who's there every day, not as good as Kawhi, but as a guy who's there every day. That's a good question. And I said, I'd rather have the guy who's there every day because at least
you know what you got. He said, because he goes. I wouldn't he said, because you can win a championship with Kawhi Leonard even if he's not there every day. Whereas you get somebody who's not as good as him, that guy can't win you a champion. Well, I think on the surface also want to say, if I'm like a fans perspective, if you want the guy that's there every day, but from an organizations perspective, you want the guy that's gonna be there part time that's might be the better player
I think won the championship. I was just gonna go there kind of to both of your point, Okay, Arizona, Tommy Lloyd and I think Bruce kind of talked about this. Jay Um. We've already proved that Arizon has already proven that talent doesn't always win the day. They've lost the teams lower than with less talent. So now everyone says to go get the talent. Well, it doesn't always work. We've seen that. We've seen that three years. If you guys got players that can play and play together, he
mentioned that that's what Tommy's trying to do, mesh him together. We've seen the experiment with with the with the Miller. It didn't work. That you don't need the five star guys. They're hoping to get one today, but you just don't. Yeah, maybe you have some great talented Luke did this. We talk about this. You know, they had good talent, but there was a surrounding wealth of talent. Not great players, but pretty good
ones. They had some really good ones who were there consistent late and did what they were asked to do. Yeah, right, knew the roles. Yeah, I mean again, you think about the great teams at Arizona UM. Some were loaded and some were The two thousand one team was loaded, right, was loaded with talent. Even the ninety eight team, you know didn't get to a final quarter, that was loaded with talent. But the
year before those same guys, correct, were not the loaded. You know, they were like, wait a minute, these guys are this good? You can't mention the ninety eight without mentioned ninety seven, because ninety seven they were just a buddy. They came out of nowhere a bunch of dudes, and ninety seven then you said, oh they could play, how come they didn't play for thirty games they finished feeling exactly again, the eighty eight team
was just a bunch of dudes. It was Sean Elliott, but then everybody else were I mean, did Tobrid have a cup of coffee in the NBA? He did. Kerr was a really good player, and he was a good player in the NBA, but he wasn't a quote unquote superstar. He wasn't a super star on the level of a Seawan Elliott. You know, Anthony Cook, Craig McMillan, you know the gun Bees. Pieces they were just pieces. They were just pieces. And we said this one hundred times,
that just pieces. You know, I go to the ninety eight Arizona football team, right pieces that all fit together, you know, two quarterbacks. I'll give you. I'll give you this because I think you we ask you this question when you first got here. Uh Kawhi, Kyrie, I'm Kawai all day because Kyrie rex the locker. Though he's healthy, right, even though he's healthy, right, and he could get you to the to the chapmanship. Right, there's the butt though, Right, there's the butt

I don't think it is, you know, And and I you know, I just you know again, the one the one that I go to, you know in the NFL was um um um I can't think of his name now, the receiver um Oh Owens, Yeah, Terrell Owens, right, I mean, yes, did he get to a super Bowl with the Eagles. But everywhere when he was in
San Francisco, he was in Dallas, they just going. They trashed Brown what's his name, Brown, Um, Pittsburgh, nag Into Yeah, A J. Brown Brown. You know these people they come and they just trashed the place. It's like you invite you know, you've been trying to get this guest to come over to your house, you know, because and then you get him in there and they they demolished the place and then they leave. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, So you played ball, right, Yeah,
I'm sure you've had You've had teammates that were pretty good. But he says, what shut up, just play? Yeah, but they can't. Yeah that's right, guys. I just have that like personality about them that they know. It's like extra stuff you have to deal with because of the talent. So that's just kind of a part of the game. And guess
what coaches deal with it? Yeah. Yeah, and at the detriment of the rest of the team, Well, you end up spending time dealing with stuff that you wish you didn't have to trint time dealing, right, you know, you have to, uh, you know, I'm god, I'm Steven, And this is just in sportsman. I you know, I had a guy that I hired a TEP and I would spend hours conseling him on how to be a better employee, halfway decent. Just you know, you're great at what you do. But this part of it is important too.
You're trashing the locker room. To my point, and we all know this. Twenty seventeen eighteen Alkins Trier. Yea even fantastic group. Ristic, Right, how did that go? Yeah? Because they never they never got to where you thought they were capable of, No at all, not even close. Yeah, Leven close with all that talent. Yeah, no, and yeah, I mean to me, it's it's it's one of the most important
things you can have as a team is the is the chemistry. Chemistry you well, and you've done this because you worked in corporate, which is very toxic in many places, can be if you have no chemistry, or they don't get along, even if they don't even talk to each other, it doesn't matter, doesn't where your pieces can all individually, can all be great pieces, but if it doesn't fit together as a team, you're just you're just messing around, right, And you're you know, you're punching the wall
all the time because you can't, you can't seem to pull it together. And there are people who just inherently do that. It's their personality to do that. And I'm not saying that they take pleasure in doing it, but I'm saying that they can't help themselves. No, they enjoy starting fires and they sit back and watch the fire burns, but some of them just can't do it, just can't help themselves, you know. It's just it's just the way they are. And they get up every morning and say, what
trouble am I going to cause today? You know? And it drives me crazy. And that's you know, that's what guys like Kyrie Irving, tarall Owens Um, you can name a whole bunch of others, you know, just do and and to me, they're you know, they call them cancers, right because they are. Well, my, my hope today it's five o'clock, which is on a little thirty three minutes or so, that that Arizona gets the guy Carter. I have no dog in the fight. I
just kind of want the bleeding to stop. And but bleeding, I'm talking about complaining right, because it's it's uh, some good news has to happen. If it doesn't, well we'll have to continue to it fix for our
show show. I know, but I'm getting tired of talking about it and probably people getting tired of hearing from us because we're you know, but I have gotten a lot of the people that I've talked to, right, Uh, I mean, look, and to understand these if I'm if I'm an idiot on the on the on the show, these people tell me I'm being an idiot, but you know, they're pretty much in agreement saying what the hell is wrong with these people? They're they're sick of hearing these people.
But then you know, we had, you know, the conversation and you know, Bruce really led us, led us onto that that you know, it's not that it's not the majority or anything like that. It's just that they're loud. And we know that, you know, the people that are.
You know, just because they're loud on social media doesn't mean that that's the running opinion, right right, No, And if one guy gets brazen, other guys feel free to do the same thing, right, they feel they feel that there's a okay to do it, there's an okay that well if we pile on, Yeah, we're gonna pile on with the demise of whatever news it is. And he said to twenty twenty four, righty, it's this is yeah, he's not He's not for this coming season. He's for the next season. So this is one thing that I took away from from Bruce, although I've known.
One more thing is he doesn't have to sign until he can sign in November at the earliest. He you know, something could happen because change. The one thing that I realized, and you know this in recruiting is and everybody's involved with loaves of stuff. No one lives for today. No one lives for today, to live for tomorrow. I'd be one of those losers at the dog track, just like all by himself, no friends, nobody to talk to bet On the dog who said
he was in the corner leave him alone. And you know what, it was a you know, going to the dock track alone. It's a lonely It was a lonely walk from the car to the to the to the track. And then was not safe too, because you knew that people were looking at you, saying that guy, he's got no friends, he's got no life, and he's here at the dock track because he does kicking kicking rocks to the car, there's nobody else to talk to. It was. It
was a lonely feeling on that on that walk. R did did the time or two. Then it was time the time that Adam was with me, my son, and he was like six or eight months old, and it was a Sunday afternoon, and I just want to get my wife the time off, you know, And and I walked, I walked out the door, and the last thing she said was don't take him to the dog And then I took him to the dog track and you're still married. Yeah, And she actually she knew she found she found out because because she said,
you know, call me a little bit. So I called her from the dog track off a pay phone, and I thought, you don't know, she's not gonna hear anything, right, And then the music came on when they bring the dogs. It was like, you're at the dog track and I'm like, yeah, yeah, I'm actually I said, Adam wanted to see the puppies. I don't want to disappoint that him. So it's it's kind of a running family joke about the time I took him to the track. When I want to use it's pretty funny, but no, I looked
at dog racing in there being a really bad thing for everybody. But it was fun while it last. I had fun there. So okay, got two minutes before we leave today's show, Howard.
