Bonus bets expire seven days after issuance. Aligiability

and deposit restrictions apply. Terms at sportsbook dot DraftKings dot com slash football terms and also before we go, I'm here at the board and I'm screwing it up today, and so just let everybody know that kind of butchered this. We had Brian on the phone, but nobody could hear Brian. You could only hear us. We had a great conversation with him. We just, oh, I forgot to turn on this Mica. I thought, no, I forgot to turn on Brian's and then I left the microphones on for a

couple of seconds after Brian, don't call back. Great call of yours. But that's when you said this, and then we said no. So we just butchered that. So sorry about that. If you listen on the podcast, that's what happened. So there you go. Don't know what to say. How did you realize this because you sew the buttons I saw, but yeah, when I went to hang up on Brian the microphone wasn't if you want to be an intern, just give us a call that gives the best

we can use, all the interns that we can get. All right, here we go. This is high on on Fox Sports fourteen fifty. It's paid internship, that's right, unpaid internship. All right. So and again, I you know, I've been so darn busy. I haven't had a lot of uh I have ever been able to put a lot of breaking news together. But uh, you know, starting the NFL this week, a lot of interesting things happening. A Cooper Cup, who happens to be my

keeper and my fantasy team. I'm shocked he's going to see a specialist about his hamstring. I'm sure he's got a hamstring problem. And the thing about that is a hamstring can linger and linger and linger. And if it's bad enough, you've got to go see a specialist. Yeah, you know, I mean Cooper Cup needs his hamstring to do what he does. I mean he's one of those guys again, a Jacob Cowing guy, a Dennis Smarts, good guy who catches the ball and does stuff with it. And that's

Cooper Cup's game. And if he's gonna he's gonna be having hams hamstring problems all all the all season. Then he's not gonna be the Cooper Cup that that the Rams need him to be. Another another injury issue, Travis Kelsey guy had had injured his knee to day. I guess in practice they've been checking it out. They he's doubtful for for Thursday because they open with with who are they open with? I don't know, I forget the Lions. Yeah, they open with the Lions, but they don't know. They don't

think there's any structural damage. But he might not he might not play. He played in every game last year. So uh, there's so there's that going back to all the realignment stuff and the stuff that went on in the in the Pac twelve. Uh uh. Somebody did an interview with somebody named Christian Capel with US. I don't know. He's with a website. I guess, did an interview with the with the Washington President. Here's a quote and this is what it's an interesting quote. To change is always difficult,

but I'll be honest. Some of our biggest, biggest supporters said thank you so much. It's been generally very positive. I understand tradition, I understand loyalty, but else understand the need for change. This is the interesting part. We did not leave the PAC twelve that people are grieving. We left the PAC twelve that was at best on life support, and it was fairly toxic because there was no trust. There was constant gossip and leaks. That

last year was really tough on everybody. He's being honest, right, because it's true. But yes, I'm sorry the president. Yes, okay, Well the President said it's very much true, because that's the thing. Every quarter you heard something different, right. And now, when you think about why Oregon and Washington ended up when everybody thought they were staying, ended up going, they said, wait a minute, that Friday night, Yeah, this this has been bad. It's been bad for a year, you know.

To fix all this. The odds, the odds are stacked against us, and and and and and they left anybody in the situation that these two teams were in, and the rest of the team, they would have jumped in a heartbeat, better opportunity, the sinking ship, right, everyone themselves, the whole bit, the whole deal, the whole deal. Uh, Sam Thomas, our friend, he's been on her showing number of times, announced that she's giving up a basketball off together, you know, going on

to the next thing, whatever that might be. Yeah, we should try to get her on the show. A very obviously one of the most like to feel women's basketball players in a long time. You know, I think Hove called her the best, but I don't know that you were the best basketball player. I don't think it was pretty good. What is huh the best basketball player? McDonald was pretty good in the day. Was also prettydamn good too. Sam was great, and she was great for a long really

good for a long time. Possibly the most well liked I would say, an ambassador to the program right right in terms of you know, if if you're gonna make that as part of her you know, greatness at Arizona, Yes, you know, because she was, you know, I mean she continues to be uh uh you know somebody that you know, one like you said, an ambassador but too just somebody that uh continues to have people you know, just love her to death. So you know, it's it's pretty

cool. So anyways, all right, and then uh oh, here this is one that a little a little closer to home. Steve Jim Milkie, who was the Sunnyside track and cross country coach, and it's some time with sunny Side Track at cross country was really good. I'm talking the sixty familiar. And then he became the he became the uh the team across. Apparently he's an ICU, so he's not doing well. We lived next door to him for a while. Yeah, as a kid. Yeah when yeah,

when my brothers we're in high school. To mention last week, it was Jim Rifkin, Yeah he passed, he passed an ambassador for tennis. Yeah yeah, yeah, named for the tour he you know, they named the Gold the Tennis scumplex after I'm not gonna lie. I thought Jim Milky was real old when I was ten, So what does he don't know? He's got to be he's gotta be pretty and he probably wasn't it Just I was ten years old when we lived next door. Year old year old to be

fifty. I know, I know, I know, it's it's it's it's pretty awful. So how about the PAC twelve going thirteen? And oh and I know you said, you know, but nonetheless, nobody's done that, Okay, regardless of who they played, nobody's gone thirteen and oh, no conference has gone thirteen and oh, I thought I read since the fifties, so it really isn't really yes, but Jay, but if you want to poop all over that, go ahead. This is but I'm just telling you.

I'm just telling you. Can I do something and not poop poosters. That's smelly stuff. No, no, But because this is a one hundred thousand dollars horse going against fifty thousand dollars horses, and every time they play, they should the one hundred thousand, I'm going to the schedule to see to see who go ahead and go, Okay, here we go. We'll run down, we'll run down the teams that they beat if I can get it and I better. The favorite started starting with you know, you'll beat

Florida. That might have been the closest on the closest competition as you beat a crappy almost lost son Utah Stafford beat Hawaii, right, okay, look good, Colorado b TCU, Okay, all right, Oregon by Portland State Washington be the Boise State team that people thought was gonna be pretty good. But they're not. They're not a powerful killed and they killed, Uh, CAL beat North Texas, at USC beat Nevada, Washington State beat Colorado State.

There's going to be then au U c LA beat Coastal Carolina. So they were supposed to go thirty. They were supposed well except for Tea. They should have I may at Stanford, I don't know. I thought I thought they were gonna be he's not very good. Who it's not very good, So probably should have gone twelve and twelve anyways, uh, you know, and USC beat was they stayed in week zero, so that was the first one. Nonetheless, the point is nobody's done that, even when they

played rappy guys. I get it. But perspective is also important. Yeah, but you know everybody's falling all over Yeah, well then next week and then that's when you know the uh, the sky is falling enough, the scar is following. Earth has reclaimed the PAC twelve. It is what is? It depends where you play, he depends out good you play exactly. So the Cardinals depth chart is out and it says Joshua Dobbs or Clayton Tune

is the starting quarterback and you've never heard of any never who what? So first he's like I heard somebody said, and I don't know again, maybe passing that information Tyler Murray for the year, I saw that same same story. Yeah, yeah, well and money has something to do with it because of payments, I think. But no, yeah, he might be out for the for there. If he's out for the whole year. When I read that, I immediately went to draft Kings to see what the over under

is. It's still three and a half. What's an over under with Colorado? It was three and a half? No, here all looking up. It had to have changed, right, Yeah, you think I was looking at the halftime of the Saturday game. Let me see here clearly the big year Colorado is now over. The over under is five, yeah, said I wouldn't touch that up. Yeah, no, one't touch that. Yeah,

I was listener. Bill is texting me right now that this was my next item anyways, So he's just making sure because Dodgers, Yes, Julio your he is there there their best picture right. Arrested on a domestic battery charge of felony domestic second charge. It's the second time he got He got arrested in twenty nineteen, had had to go to a year long uh counseling thing, that had said he was going to be a better guy, all these things and good stuff, you know, and and it looks in the

end this doesn't really matter when you're talking about situation. It's a serious like he's in a contract year. He was probably going to sign one hundred million dollar contract next year, and now he made you know, who knows what's gonna happen, right, we don't know the details of this or anything like that. But again, he has been a rent. He was arrested, posted bail. He's out of jail, but he's it's always nice spended and who knows when it we'll see you. It's always nice for Bill to kind

of check you. He's he always he couldn't wait to do that. He couldn't. He just could not wait. He could not wait to do that. But find Bill, go ahead. I took it. You know, Look, I love Julio. I had forgotten about his previous thing. I don't have I don't have patience for those guys, I really don't. But I had completely forgotten about it. So you know, now this has happened, and you know it obviously will be on you know, on the front

of my mind. I know that he doesn't care what I think. But nonetheless, you know it's it's too bad that uh too bad for his his wife or his girlfriend, I don't know, you know who is, what his partner is, and that this is happening. And now probably a very promising baseball career matter just gone into the cracker because he's a this is his as a second second time having having this happened, I've had one more law

enforcement thing. Patriots cornerback Jack Jones, who had who had been arrested, uh back in June and was facing ten gun charges, had all the charges, had the charges dropped in return for one year of probation. Police said he brought two loaded guns, two loaded unregistered handguns to the airport in Boston. How dumb is that? But anyways, Okay, so he's been put on probation, and I say, I think it's one of those probations where

you know, you just gotta drop the charget if you stay clean. And I was gonna go into the AP preseason poll, okay, AP preseason pole football play. The first one is that you go ahead, we can talk about well, I was gonna say, there's how successful can a soccer team, be the team that won the World Cup spaining right. They fired, they got rid of the president and the coach because of a kiss that went south, obviously, and then all the problems and they won the thing.

They want to imagine had they not won the thing? Who knows? Craziness? Who knows? I mean, I you don't know what what what players and what athletes and stuff like that are going through. What they're thinking. They get on the field and they forget about all the crap going on behind them. I don't know. I don't know. Yah, were talking about

that, right, It's got to be kind of clean. You know, things got in the locker room, the coaching staff and all that stuff, and then all this, all this turbulence is going on, and yet they still go out and win the women the Women's World Cool. You just want That's it. That's it. We'll see what happens. We'll talk more. We're gonna, yeah, man, Mordella, coming on. We'll talk about how that Pack twelve conference that's dominated with college football, were right pack.

They welcome back to what the ball here on Fox Sports fourteen took me? Or Steve Rivera, He's jackings Off. Now in the bowl we had met more than of goings hecats dot com and all things PAC twelve Matt, how are you great? Stephen Jay? Thanks having me back. You know you're gonna pull a Dion Sanders and tell us I told you so about

the PAC twelve. Yeah, I told you so. You didn't want to believe me. Now I told you that it's gonna be the greatest league in the entire country, has a great future ahead of it. All those things I said, all those things. Wait a minute, Wait a minute, it has no future in front of it. That part's got to be correct,

because that's that's the shame of everything. But first impressions of you know, I don't know if the league of the whole, I mean, I don't I don't know what impression you can have, right, yeah, I mean I think it's the thing that stands out is that everyone kind of handled

business. And sometimes that's difficult in college football sometimes, as we saw, you know, last night, with Duke and Clemson and Clemson not looking like the team that everyone has known and Duke so you know, we're gonna be part of this thing as well, and so sometimes you know, you get those games where it just doesn't go the way you thought it would. But for the most part, you know, Pactrol panel business and did what it

was supposed to do. You talk about Arizona or being able to get back and avenge that loss to NAU and really looking maybe not in top top form, but at least looking like they should, you know, against the team like NAU, And then you go across the board and most of the teams look that way, and you have Washington State hanging fifty points on Colorado State. You have you know, cal Scorn fifty eight points, and you just you look across the league and there's a lot of scoring, which is not

a surprise. But I think the overarching thing for me was that everyone that was supposed to, you know, do the things they did, it kind

of came to reality. And so that's I think a good sign for the Pac twelve and we'll see what We'll see what it means once conference play starts, because we know how this league is and how much everyone kind of each one another and cannibalize one another is kind of what happens every year, and we'll see if that happens again and if there's one team that gets to the

very top. But I felt my reservations about the very very top teams and their abilities to make it to the College Football Playoff and really truly compete for national title. But we'll kind of have to see how that all plays out of these coming weeks. So the enigma team for me, and it's been a while, is the UCLA Bruins. Do you have your guy McDonald cover that team? What do you what do you make of them? Because they could be good some days and not good some others. Sometimes they kind of

don't know how to get out of their own way. You watch that game and you go, there should be a very clear decision about who their starting quarterback is. It's a Rushan who came in as a five star maybe the top recruits ever sign with them, at least in recent memory, and he and he plays well, and you don't give him the starting job. You

don't say, hey, he's the starter. So the fact that they're drawing this out and they're making it more than it has to be kind of feels like what they're about and they kind of get in their own way sometimes it just instead of just doing what they do well, you know, you know, making the decisions they should make, they kind of get in their own way at times that at least to twenty seventh thirteen results over Coastal Caroline,

I mean, they probably should have never went into that game trying to play three different quarterbacks for the most part. You know, you mentioned Tracy and him covering UCLA for US, I mean lifting to him and what he said, it felt like Dante was Dante Moore of their freshman was the guy all

along and should have been the guy. You know from game one that it felt like he separated himself in camp and then Chip decides, you know what, We're going to go with a three quarterback system and it just doesn't work. And so I think there's just moments where they kind of can't get out

of their own way. I think that plays into it. And then they also have the new defensive coordinator and trying to work on some new things, and you know, a coach who was in the end fell and so trying to adjust I think is probably part of that as well as some new pieces. But yeah, an interesting team for sure. They could be one of those teams that if you look at this scheduy, you could go, well, I can see them winning nine or ten games, but you can also

see them be in the middle of the pack team. And so they are an enigma for sure. And I think it's a lot of a lot of reason a lot of ways, because they kind of just don't do the simple things at times. You know, going back to overall, you know what the PAC twelve uh did uh this last weekend? The one thing that I that I the PAC twelve loses two or three of these games early in the

season every year. You know, they lose to a Portland State. They lose to uh, you know, one of those Cal State somebody teams to lose to, you know, you know, a team that they shouldn't listen and they didn't lose any of those games this time. I don't know how much how much that means, but to me, you know, where every first weekend of the PAC twelve of the season, I would be shaking my head because the PAC twelve looks stupid, losing a couple of games that they

shouldn't lost. They didn't lose those games this time. And that's what I was kind of alluding to her. I think, you know, the overarching theme for me was just that everyone kind of handled their business. And so it is really rare. You look down the list of the scores and you go, you're kind of waiting to see, all right, where was that

team? Where was that one? And everyone's talking about Organ State, you know, leading up to the season, and they play San Jose State and who kind of was in it a little bit with USC for a bit and you go, Okay, maybe that's the game that maybe you overhyped the Organ State too much and everyone thought too highly of them, and then even they handled business and so yeah. I mean, if you look across the board, everyone did what they're supposed to do. It is rare. It does

feel different. Now the task and the challenge is going to be to do it again because the pack falls is whether they like it or not, it's gonna need all the help they can get to be one of those teams to be one of those leagues that considered, you know, a national power for this season, obviously dissolving after this year, but you still want to get those teams with a college football player, if you still want to be in that conversation, and the pack calls like it has a lot of worthy teams.

Again, my my concern with it when you look from the outside perspective is do they have one of those teams that's truly truly elite? Again, Washington's in that conversation. USC is absolutely in that conversation, or they might be in that conversation, but when you look at USC Washington, there's still some kind of moments where you go, I don't know that they're one of the top teams in the country. And we'll see how that plays out of the next couple of weeks. So I don't want to beat the horse.

But we have nine minutes, so let's be do. What do you make of Dion? And have you seen I think you're still a young kid, and we didn't talk about this with Anthony, but have you seen a coach like that before? You know, uh we no one believes this. Blah blah blah. Oh it really doesn't matter to me. No, I mean, it's it's it's really interesting. It's been very interesting to watch. I think there was talking to a lot of people around the league. You don't

really have to talk about people are around the league. You can just go on social media. And there's a lot of people who were, to his credit, roody for his downfall. I mean, there's a lot of people who don't like the way that he went about his business. There's been coaches openly criticizing him, which you never see, you know those coaches, that's

a pretty pipe fraternity. And there's been a lot of coaches who have been openly criticizing how he's gone about turning over that roster, how he's approaching things, how he's built his team, all those things. And I'm sure we're you know, not happy to see him win a game because you kind of know what's next is gonna be what kind of has transpired, which is him basically saying I told you so, and I'm the greatest list and I'm the

greatest that you know. I think it's it's not unexpected. I mean, he's kind of been in the same way since he got the job, and is uh, you know, set all those things along the way and as reminding people of you know, who he is and what he's about, and so it hasn't been a surprise, but it is definitely different and it's something that they need to keep winning otherwise they are gonna there's gonna be a wave of criticism about what they are and who they are, and I think it's

gonna be an interesting way to see how it plays out these next couple weeks because it's you know, uh, Nebraska didn't look very good that the way you know, Colorado played the Flash against TCU, that feels like a weird for Colorado. They play Colorado State the next week, and then you know, they go into the Gauntlet, But at this point, it doesn't feel out like it's out of the realm of possibility that they could, you know, go into that going to Pactrol play undefeated, and so I was not

thinking now I was going to be the case. I had plenty of reservations about what the roster looked like. I didn't think it was was as talented as it seemed to look over the weekend. But I still think there's a lot of questions to be answered about that team. I don't think you can judge them based off one week. Yes, are they better than what we thought? Probably so, But there's still a lot to be determined about that group and in that team, and so we'll see how it all plays out.

But yeah, it's been very interesting to see a coach would be that boisterous and see other coaches for me from the other side, be so critical. And it'll be interesting to see how that dynamic plays out when some of those teams meet up. So let me ask both of you guys this question. I just saw the schedule. I didn't know when they were playing Colorado, So so you have you have a chance to see one of these games. There was one Colorado and Boulder. Nice Crisp cor you going to Duke

to what's the best? Okay, Oh, you're gonna go if you can go. If you can do one or the other and you get and you can do it. I'm going to do and if the plane to get guard seven hundred. But that's what I'm saying. Let's just say whatever the cost is, what you can do one or the other. I think you go to do. Yeah, No, that's what I'm going to try to do. I didn't realize but the same weekend, same weekend. Ah, that's why you asked that. That's not have to figure out what I want to

do. What are you doing? Man? Yeah, what would you do? I think there's no question you're gonna do. I think there's absolutely Like, if you have the opportunity to go to one or the other, I think you have to go to Duke. I mean that's just so much more significant, just in so many ways. Again outside of this one season and seeing what happens with Deon, what, what does it truly matter what you think of Colorado as an Arizona fan. I mean, it's it's a one

time deal that's over. You kind of wash it away, obviously. I know you're going to the Big twelve as well, but I don't I'm not one for thinking that Dean is going to be there very very long. So maybe that's my judgment of it, but I don't know. You're not on the sideline scene what he's doing. You could very much just catch up on

what happened during, you know, watching the TV replay later on. To me that the Duke experiences very feels very much close to a one once in a lifetime type of experience, and you know, both teams should be pretty good. And to me, it seems like a very simple decision that you go with you go to the basketball side and going to the trip to Duke. Dean's going to be a very mad at you because you're you're disrespecting it. I can you're disrespectful. So let me ask you add my name to

the list, a name to the list. Do you you follow recruiting very very highly? Obviously the Hunter kid, he was the number one kid out of the high school coming out. He ends up with him. How good was he? He was exactly what everyone saw on Saturday, And I'm very shocked to see that more people didn't understand what type of player he is. I mean, he is one of the top players in the country and he

has been and he was last year and he wasn't a recruit. It was very shocking when Jackson State was able to get him to commit there because he was obviously at the Florida State at one point, he had every offer in the country. He was thought of as being, you know what he is, and the kind of a generational talent in a lot of ways, it feels like and it's being built. At at least that was everything he was, and I think people just maybe ignored it, and especially last year,

it's just difficult to see it because you're not watching Jackson State games. They're not on primetime TV as much as your favorite team, and probably gets overshadowed a bit. He wasn't not doing the things that he did on Saturday at Jackson State. He was still a very very good player. It's been his level of player has been raised, and I think the opportunity to know that he's on a national stage probably upped his game a little bit, especially on

Saturday. But nothing is shocking based off what you saw from him as a high school prospect. There was a reason he was thought of so highly and why he was ranked as high as he was because he is a pure talent and it was so rare to see a two way player be that successful, you know, at that level, and understand that he could legitimately do both

things at a very high level. That was just really rare, and so I think he in I think he was only helped by making a move to a school that's going to be playing games that you know, noon on a Saturday, and I think everyone just got to see it a little more. But I'm actually a little bit surprised that more people are are as shocked as they are about his level of playing what type of players, because he was very very good last year and again as a high school recruit, he was

highly thought of and considered one of the top prospects. So I've been surprised by the reaction to it, but I'm not surprised about what he shows at all. And I will say, you know, we had Brian Hall, who covers who covers Colorado, you know, for the Boulder for the Boulder Paper. He too said because we asked about Door Sanders, they said, is he a legitimate PAC twelve quarterback? And he said, yes he is. Uh so you know it, uh I you know, he clearly was

right because it's he certainly showed that this last weekend. Yes, I mean there was no question about him as well. I mean the issue we have someone like that and you know where they're gonna go. They're gonna follow their father. If his father was a coach, they're gonna follow him. It's the recruitment doesn't blow up as much as you think it would because all the coaches are saying, I'm not going to waste my time recruiting Shdor Sanders because

I know where he's gonna go. So that plays into it too. And then you go, well, well the song is offen. It's why didn't everybody off him. Well, they knew where he was doing. They're not gonna waste their time. So I think that's fews things a little bit. But him as well, when you watched it he did in high school, and you watched what he did, you know as a prospect, he said, that is a very high level player. He's going to be able to help somebody at the next level in a very big way. I think what

he showed Saturday was even up more than what he's shown previously. But again, if you look at the staff, then you look at you watch the games. He watched the film of what he did at Jackson the State. It wasn't that that much of a difference from what he showed against PCU. I do think again, level a level play was raised in that game.

I think he really wanted to show show and pronounce himself and make sure that people knew, like, hey, I'm that type of player, and uh, you know, kind of announced his own arrival, so to speak. But for both those players, I think what they showed Saturday is not far off from what they showed last year and definitely not what they showed as a high school prospect. So after Week one, you know, everybody gets kiddy or whatever and over react to things. Who's the best team in the Pac

twelve today? You could change, But today I still think it's Washington. I think if I'm gonna, you know, attach myself to one team and say who has the best chance to play in the college football Playoff, I think it's Washington. I'm still not I know that USC has been dominant at

times, showed an improved defense over the weekend. There's still something about what Kaylan Dbora was able to do last year and really just rebuild a team very quickly, and not only just with players and not bringing in talent, but just as a coach and making the right play calls and right decisions, and so I really think that Washington is the class of the Pac twelve right now. I think, especially when you're talking about longevity and being able to really

compete for a college football playoff, I'd probably go as Washington. I understand the USC argument. I think they're very talented. I have plenty of questions about their defense and what they're able to do on that side of the ball, and how things change once they get into league play and uh, you know, the scores aren't going to be as kind of outlandish. So I

selve reservations about what they are as a team. Defensively. I think offensively they're gonna be very very difficult to stop, and it'll be able to all the defensives across the league to come up with ways to try and limit kill the billions and what they do with all those weapons there. But I just I really like kiland Bore as a coach. I think, you know, what he does and what he's done at Washington is very impressive, and I

think they have the talent to get it done. It's just a matter of if you don't have those slip ups and there's there's so many teams across the league that can you know, catch you if you're not you know, on top form. And Arizona has been one of those teams at times, you know, able to come up with upset wins and and you know beat teams when maybe they're not expecting it. And so I'm gonna be really interested to see kind of how that upper echelon, you know, USC Organ and Washington,

how they're able to do. Maybe Organ see it, Like I said, throw them in there right now. I would say Washington is the best team and it's going to be the best team in fact felve as I see it right now. Well, thanks for Matt for coming on for the last time on this show. Washington too. I love you, Matt. The one thing he didn't do is pointed, No, I didn't. I'm trying to sit back a little bit let this season unfold a little So, okay, Matt, we'll talk to you soon, I promise. Thanks. Bud

Her birthday is actually on Saturday, and we're gonna and then I'll be Okay, let's take this call. Hi, you're on the air and I on the ball. Yeah, this is Nico. Man, what's up, Nico? Hey man? Just want to talk about the game. Which are you? Yeah? Man, I was it? Did you stay the whole time? And what'd you think? Hey man? First off, they got a fire. Whoever bought those fridges they put

the beer in? Man? Every beer I've got was hot Hill, every beer. How many beers did you have? Like sticks? Oh? You must have been loopy happy? Okay? And the hot dogs they're horrible. And the nachos are bad too, They're not okay. I got a bone to pick on the nachos. Okay, you give you a ton of chips,

not enough cheese, and you have to beg for extra hollo. Don't they have two types of nachos, like one on the one you're talking about and then another bigger dish of sudden Yeah, well you can go get like the nacho Grand Day, right, which are I think are done by all charto. But I'm a basic nachos guy. I like the nachos with the with the canned cheese and a mountain of hollopanios and they you know, they they're still doing them in enough cheese, still doing them in with the chips

and the little doesn't work. Man, I asked for extra cheese. They tell me it's a dollar extra. What the Yeah, so you went out? Are you going to be going to more games? I got season tickets, Malla, we got new seats pretty much so. And you're a critic, you're kind of a critic. What would you give them out of ten?

The way they played overall? Now not halves on a scale of one to ten, I'm talking about the concession standard, the ten, the actual game, the actual game, I'm giving the concession at three and I'll give the Cats are six. Yeah. The defense, the defense, let you do thank you had too many plays where it's like impact twelve. You're gonna get screwed over if you do that crap. Yeah, well, the defense, they were pretty they were pretty impressive compared to h They played way better

in the second half. I thought I thought they let any of you have the all too much in the first half. That was my deal. And also the offense, I thought they put up like fifty six at least. Yeah, they just didn't have enough opportunities. They gave up those two turnovers and that kind of soft them too. Hey, just being a young dude and Nico, what do you think about the d on situation? And keep your your your language clean? Peace? Hey man. I like Dan Man.

Yeah, I think I figured he was gonna win. Yeah. No, you, you and a few young younger generations, I think. And that's good. That's good because he appeals to them. Yeah, I mean you like the brashness and the I got we got receipts and all that kind of stuff. I like him because he's a no man. And I appreciate you taking ls last week. Yeah, I guess I have to take that. Yeah, okay, Nico, thanks Man. Are you back in town for a while. Yeah, I'll be back man job, Oh of course

you did. We gotta get to Jay's tailgate in two weeks, you do, Hey, Man, I tailgate on the way I to get in from park Man. Your your tailgates A long walk for me. Man, It'll be a cold beer for you, none of that warm stuff. You got a night shift? Of course we do? Are you kidding me? I who love it? Even has ice in it. And we had we had bud we had bud light and Pacifico this last week. Well, then I might have to come back. Yeah, it's worth the worth the welcome to

come by Nico. Alright, Nico and Steve came by. I didn't drink though, Alright, Nico, thanks so much for calling. Hey, that's another thing, though, why don't they sell because probably they probably are asking too much for probably trying to charge egs too much to do it. And then there's nothing like an egg. There's a little bit of pocket in it. Man, I go, I go, I go with Captain Morgan. He's my friend. When when it comes to the captain, the captain was

at our mailgate this U this last week. All right, man, alight, all right man, yeah, I love Nio. Nico's kind of the anti Gabe in a cool way. You know, Hey, what's up? And Gabe's like, damn scummies. Oh so did you know that? Did you? When you're talking about Edwarder and and Dion they have a history, right, but did you had you seen the story? Because Warder was on yours that's where you got the information. Okay, that's why, because it's

exactly what you said. Yeah, yeah, yeah, no, I that that and he that's what he said, you know, Dan Patrick said, well, he said, what did you write about him? And he said, I didn't, except that I don't write, he said, he said, enough, he's going back to this thing that I tweeted back in March. Then what the hell? Well, they do keep re seats. But let me ask you. So we've been here a long time and we covered a lot of coaches. I kind of didn't, but we know a lot

of coaches. I didn't ask Anthony because he's covered a lot of coaches too. Any coach like that here. Luke was a little like that. He gets a little grumpy at times, maybe Greg, maybe a couple other people where he kind of said, you know, I said, it's just, you know, don't pay attention to it. It's kind of like they're right

with you writing right and and again, what bothers me? And I know he doesn't give one crap, but just what bothers me is the hypocrisy is that he he talked, He talked, you know, he walked off the field talking about we got received and he called it edward or out in the press conference and then today or yesterday in his in his you know, weekly press conference, he says he doesn't. You know, I don't care what you guys, right, I'm paying attention to that stuff. You know,

I'm dion. It's one or the other, right, right, Okay, what is it? You know that? That's what That's what gets me, when it gets me, is these guys make a ton of money, like a ton of money, Yeah, and they're worried about these things that Look, do I care what people say about me? Yeah? You know, you know, but you know what, for the most part, it's like, okay, if that's what you thinking me, fine, I don't. I don't know you. I don't need you, you know, and so

I don't talk about you. You know. That's kind of like what his son said under his press commerce. You know, you guys just don't know my dad. And then he's he's a winner. He's been a winner everywhere I've gone. And he is who he is, you know, and he is and he's he's a heck of a player. You can kind of know coaching matters, Jay and I it's gonna translate. He's got the guys inspired, right, and you give him credit for that because he has been a

winner everywhere he's gone. He has been no doubt you know, all the way through and so you know, people who doubted him, you know, doubted him at their own risk. Here here's my situation with this. I think they flashed a graphic on the on the on the screen there. I think he had eighty five new players or something like that. Right, it's a big number, big number. The guy who Texas State, guy who

who beat who they beat? Somebody upset the upside Baylor they had like fifty six or sixty, well, the second best, the second most in the in the well. Actually, I was gonna I'm glad you brought that because on the way over here, I was thinking about Nicole Arbach for for the

Athletic. There's a story about this. It was it was about the clemsing thing where dabble Sweeney has refused to tap into the into into the yeah, into the transferport you talk about Stanford, you know, they've gotten bad since the trans report come and then and she had a couple of other examples of guys that aren't going into the transfer portal and say it's a losing strategy. It's a losing strategy because guys like you know, the Texas State guy,

Guys like the Florida state coach Mike Norvell. You know, Dion even Jed Fish are going into the transfer portal and getting guys that make them better. And by refusing to do that, you're putting yourself out and a self imposed event. Totally agree with that. Totally agree with that. So when you buy cars, Jay, do you buy used or new? And they're fine? Right, they do well? Kind of man, I'm careful about what

I get. My point is, you get some pretty good players from somebody else, right, and they play, You can coach them up, or they want to be there, try hard, all that stuff. That's what they're doing. That's what they're doing. That's all they're doing. And they're

and they're getting guy you know. Again, the point being that, and and this is the point that that that Nicole Arbuck made in her in her column was that you know, you can go get a guy who's played a couple of years, has some experience you know, can come in give versus if you plug in a high school guy, it takes him a while, Sure, get up to speed. Sure one of the other things. What are reason I brought it up? He is eighty five. Let's say that

number. The Texas State guy has up sixty five or whatever. A lot of big numbers. Uh. I think one of the things that we talked about how he grew up people wrong is he did it, and he made it. He was real public with it, was public, and that's the thing that a lot of people are saying, right. But the thing is there's a lot of coaches who weren't public with it, but did it, did the same thing, did the same thing. Look, I'm sure Jed

Fish did some of that. Rich Wad did that. Right. You come here and you got you gotta get you know, you gotta gets that fit with what you do exactly. There's nothing wrong with Matt depending on how you do approach the approach, right. I mean, if you just kick him off the door and they you don't let him keep a scholarship or and then then you know, then that's distasteful. But if you say, look, you don't fit in our program, I'm telling you that. So if you

want to go look for another opportunity, you can. But if you decide not to decide to stay, here's your scholarship. We all that good luck to you, because it's gonna be tough to even see the because I'm bringing my own guys. No, but but he'll say, look, you know you're not gonna be on the team anymore. Let me ask you this, But you can you can still go to school here. We only have any seconds. But you say, you you've gone to a few companies blah blah

blah and the new guy and you're there for a while. A new guy comes in as your boss. You know what he wants to do, bring in. Does that happen to me? It happens, Absolutely happened. That's exactly what happened to me. And you're saying, what the hell? I do a pretty good job here, but this guy wants Yeah, no, that's Steve. That that absolutely happened to me. And you guy came in, he had his he had his guys, and I wasn't part of the plan. And that's where it goes. Yeah, it's called life. And

I didn't like it, but that's the way it goes. I didn't like it, but I understood it, and that's and that's the way it goes. So you know, and that and that's at every level. Now people feel like, well, you know, he made a commitment to your college. You should you know, take care of him. Okay, you take care of my saying Okay, you can stay at the University of Arizona or University of Colorado or wherever, but and you can keep your scholarship. But

I you don't fit in my program. Sorry, And guess what the guy's gonna do. He's gonna can go play. Right. That's the way, and that's the way it has to work. And then and the transfer portal has really exacerbated that. It's made it's made it more prevalent. These coaches are really having to clear out because they say, Okay, there's about three guys out there that I want to get. I gotta go clear three spots from my eighty five. We gotta go. All right, let's get out of here. We'll be back tomorrow.
