Breaking down all the exes and oh, it's Steve Rivera and Jake and Summons. This is I on the Ball on Fox Sports fourteenth the Hey, welcome back to Iving the Ball hero Fox Sports fourteen fifteen. I'm Steve, he's Jake got Kevin with breaking news. Oh, we sure do have some breaking news. So we're gonna talk about the college football playoff ranking. Come. They're gonna start out at four o'clock here, right, programs about to come on an ESPN app. So well, we'll we'll bring those up as soon
as they start posting. I expect they're going to put the top six up right away, so we'll see what they come up with. But we'll we'll do kind of a play by play on that as soon as we can get this thing. You guys have any ideas on what that might look like? Well, you know, the big the big mystery is what do they do with Michigan, right because they got this this thing going on with the with the sign stealing and the impermissible scouting and stuff like that. So we'll see
what they do with that. So some people are saying they might be left out of the top five or out of the top four because of that, So we'll see and then as far as the World Series goes, Adovies Garcia is out of tonight's game with an oblique strain that he sustained in last night's game in the eighth inning. He tried to give it a go today in batting practice, but he couldn't. He couldn't make it go. So uh, Travis Shankowski is gonna step in for him. The thirty two or Olds
only had two at Baskets playoffs and he's won for two. Big weenie, big baby Adulas can't swing a bat, so he's paid to do. He's not bitter. I'm not bitter. I'm just saying he's a big baby. You're making millions and millions of dollars. You get a little bleak thing, and you can't swing a bat, big wi in the World Series. No less it hurts too much. Sorry, Okay, I would assume he tried to get it. You know, he could be He could beat my ass
if he wanted to. So I'm not gonna Yeah, you're not saying I'll fight him. Yeah, I'll run like all right, you know, yeah, I just got to get into a room and lock the door. You'll gotta be faster than him. You gotta be faster than Steve. And I exactly, he's over there behind that door, over there, faster faster than the slowest sky. All right. Kirk Curve Street released the top coaches of the week for week nine list, and uh we had Kenny Dillingham of a
SU make number seven. Oh okay, well, yeah, because they had a nice win against Washington State. Okay. Dave Dorin made number six, Jeff Brown number five, and Jed Fish comes in at number four behind Brent Key of Georgia Tech, Lance Leaphold of KU who pulled off the big win last week, and Dan Lanning ranked number one in kirk Streets though, and well, we talked about that yesterday. I think we both think Oregon is a better team than now. And you're coming on my side of it,
I know. But at least I didn't pick USC. Well, well, at least I'm getting not getting my ass kids. Well us you could wake up and win the dead. Well, they they got washed this week. Let me tell you that they ain't doing that though they're they're they're in a not even in a free fall. You can I would bet my last two dollars in my pocket, that there's trouble on that ruster, that there's guys
who probably just don't want to be there. They just they're just saying, you know, the hell with this, Yeah, because we're going to the Yeah, I'm going to the NFL. And yeah, no, we saw it, we've seen it. Yeah, what the hell I got two more months here? Can't be the hell off this train? Exactly, exactly, all right. Speaking of speaking of schools with with rough offensive lines and rough defenses, Colorado experience a robbery halftime of their game. Halftime while they're playing
their game, some players at a rose. Some players had their jewelry, cash and other belongings. What in the world are you doing with that stuff at the game? What the hell you taking it with you? Because they were one of their like you know, the bus and you know, getting going to the locker room there on the Yeah, I thought, like, you're taking how many? Which was some players are wearing the jeweler on the field nowadays, So I don't why in the world why, I have no
idea. And then after the game they have Easter e hunts for jewelries on the floor of the field. I mean hopefully they're well made class well hopefully Why would you wear why would you? I don't, I mean statements, it's a well, it's like the statement. You probably saw this on the in the first game, first game in the World Series, maybe the second game when he had all these how was he pitching with all that? I'm talking about the center fielder. The center fielder. Yeah, I don't remember
that guy the picture. I'm thinking, Yeah, I look at some of those guys and I wonder how they can play. You move? Bookie Bets wears a lot of suns and bounces and bounces when you're got to be a little bit of a distraction, especially for baseball where you probably get it and they're used to it. They're used to it, but still on, Yeah, come on, I jiggle with my my, my, my watch,
my not my watch, my eyeglasses, bounce around. Dion said that he wanted a reimbursement from the n C Double A for his players, who largely had their Julia was uninsured. How much how much did they say, we don't know. It hasn't come out yet exactly how much was sol in? Dion did have a pretty He's always gonna have one. Of those he said, this is the Rose Bowl. They said the granddaddy of mall Right,
I'm sure granddaddy had some money. Grandpa should pay some money. So I feel like he's gonna sat Suar out of the next practice because he took so many hits and he had to get injected to continue in their last even play the whole game. No, Sila didn't play the whole game. And then today's last bit of breaking news today was the NFL trade deadline. Some pretty
big time deals went down. Chase Young is making his way over to San Francisco to team up with Nick Closa, which should be a pretty scary defensive line duo. You're also seeing the Lions. They beefed up their wide receiver room with Donovan people Jones coming over for a six round pick from the Browns and as far I mean, Josh Dobbs. That's a strange move, but they a little I know, well they weren't gonna use Dobbs anymore, so they went on and got no. But but that's from Minnesota. What the
guy couldn't play in Arizona, now he's gonna be playing for Minnesota. Well, did they bring him in as a starter, he's a backup. He's a because he doesn't know the system. Right now, we'll see how long, all right, they're going. They're going from twenty five on up. I see UCLA at nineteen, USC at twenty, Utah at eighteen, so eight, Oregon State at six so sixteen is Oregon State, seventeen is Tennessee, Utah, Ucla, and USC eighteen nineteen twenty so. I mean,
those those numbers don't matter. Those guys are all have two losses, so they're just in the rankings. But they're not you know, they're not gonna gonna be They're not gonna be able to make their way up to uh up to uh you know, the the playoffs. I did it. I did see the Facebook post Paskala Well said, you know it was it was to a year post or to your the article you wrote and saying, you know why is in Arizona wins in Arizona rank I'm like, Paul, they got
three losses. Nobody else in the league rankings has three losses. You can do that with if you'r USC, you know, Washington Organ, you can have three losses. Being the rankings in Arizona, you can't be in the rankings with losses at the very worst or best twenty five at the very best. But no, of course, well this is of course people who don't know the ranks how they were. You know, if they beat U, C. L A, and there's some other things that maybe at six and
three you're in there because you've beaten three three ranked teams. They're playing like they're capable, right, but you have some baggage. You got some baggage exactly. You're you're dragging this stuff that that you did early in the season. I used to be a skinny guy. I'm not. I got baggage. Now I'm not a ten anymore. Yeah, I mean, I'm gonna leave that alone. I'm give me a little cri. This depends on the
day. Yeah, today about good stuffs. All right, okay, we're well, they worked the way up eleven through fifteen or Penn State, Missouri, Louisville, l s U, and Notre Dame. Uh. And now we're going to number ten is Old miss at seven and one, they're going to work the way up. I don't have the volume ons. We're just seeing them as they come across so Ole miss At number ten, they're also seven and one. They still got a game coming up with I think,
uh they played Georgia pretty soon. Miss yeah? Yeah? Uh Oklahoma wow? Down to number nine? Oh yeah, that's far that hurts. Who are gonna give the kiss this weekend? Maybe Washington because I think they're only giving three to you to USC? Was it? Yeah? I don't know. Well, Okay, Alabama at eight, wow? Yeah, yeah, they're not even good. They need a quarterback. Well, think a big game with LSU this week. Yeah, I don't know where we go there, Yeah, it's at USC. The Washington game is at Okay. Yeah,
I don't even know if that matters anymore. It doesn't. It's it'sarily not in the coliseum. I mean they're not, they're not. You know, well, Arizona can do that to them there, exactly, yeah exactly. But you know again, Washington hasn't played well the last the last three three weeks now, so we'll see. So yeah, so Alabama eight, Oklahoma nine, Ole, Miss ten, Texas at seven. I would have thought all three of those teams would have been higher, but mains to be
seen. Who's gonna gonna come up. Well, they're gonna have some good teams. So it's it's one through six that they kind of highlight because it's kind of like, Okay, those are the ones that are really in the hunt. You have to get a playoff spot. So but you have seven is Texas, eight is Alabama, nine is Oklahoma, and ten is Almoss. All four of those teams are seven and one, but they all have a they all have a loss. Yeah, they're all seven and one.
So I'm sure about to go to a commercial before they come back and do the other the other six. So who's the Let's switch to pros before we come back with this. Who's the best NFL team right now? It has to be the Eagles. You have to Eagles right now. I have to say it's the Dolphins. The Dolphins beat the crap out of them two weeks ago, beat the crap out of who Miami. No, the Dolphins are
Miami, the Philly Philly. Yeah, crap out of Miami. I know that, but I still think, but you know, but Washington also beat Oregon. I still think Oregon is a better team. That's a bad example. No, I think I just I just think the Dolphins are seemed more. I mean, the Eagles struggle last week against against the freaking Commanders. They were down, they were down fourteen to nothing. That was because they just beat the Dolphins. They know, who's your Philly. I think it's
Philly's got I think it's Phil. I think it's Philly two. Right now, I think Miami's obviously top three. I don't even know who the top two would be. Well, the Chiefs, the chief Chiefs ain't lost their kind of like their mystique, right and guess what not just last weekend? All week they have them all year. They haven't played for they haven't played with the Chiefs have correct they don't have the weapons that they did, And I think that's like the problem. I mean, they're just not they're not
the same team that we're expecting them to. Yeah, well they say that, Travis Kelsey, but they don't. You're right, they don't have those other receivers that well, it's like Buffalo. Buffalo doesn't have the same porches either. Josh Allen, yep, and they know what's the name digs. Josh Allen's your decision maker. In my opinion, that's a cap on how far you can go. Yeah, we'll see, we'll see. I think it's I think it's right now, it's Philly. Miami's are up there obviously
too. Oh man, Miami just seems so much more explosive. It's like the Eagles grind out their wins and the Dolphins come out. He score a bunch of points and yeah, no, if you want to be sexy and cool to watch, Miami's Yeah, but Philly, Philly kind of just bores
you to a win. I'm being blamed for the forty nine ers as you show that I locked them and then they went on and they've been on a three game losing streaks and then that's they have issues now at quarterback when he was sensational, Yeah, he's not sensational playing well, he's throwing some bad picks. Yeah, well he was what do you have a concussion? It was a concussion protocol and then he played. Yeah, well there you go, yeah, there you go. All right, it looks like you're about
to put up the top one through six. They got Oregon at six, so I mean, Washington's gonna got to be in the top four then, but uh so or organised six six at seven and one, so again another one loss team right there. Yeah, you know, I mean, regardless of what do you think Washington? Oh wow, Washington at five, So they now don't have a PAC twelve team in the top four. So that means we've got we've got Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, and who Georgia
Michigan Ohio State. And who's the who's the fourth one coming in? I can't think who that would be. Well, you said Michigan State. It's not Oklahoma in Texas, so we'll see the wait will be over in a second. Yeah, yeah, we're gonna're still breaking news time too, so yeah, we still have another minute half Florida State. Oh yeah, yea, yeah, they've been out, they've been out of your mind. Are they still sucks? Do we need to go? We'll wait a minute to
get out of here for the get Peabody. Yeah we can. Yeah, we can stick around for a second. So you have Florida State at three, had four, So at three, Georgia is gonna be number one. So we can probably go to break even after after we see number three, because we're gonna I bet that's gonna be Ohio State. I bet Michigan's gonna be a two. So we're still waiting for them to post put that up there. We got forty nine seconds. They're talking a lot. I can't,
you know, I can't. I don't know what we're doing here, but you have. You got Florida State at four, Washington and five, Oregon at six. Michigan is at three. So that's gonna leave Georgia and Oklahoma at one, and I mean Georgia and not George oklahom Georgia and Ohio State at one. Yeah, that makes that makes sense. Michigan three, Florida State for Washington Oregon. So many things should happen here. Well,
what's gonna happen? Because Michigan and House State got to play each other, Washington, Oregon got to play each other, so it'll it'll flush itself out. Oh, Georgia at two, So looks like we've got a House state obviously at number one. All right, that's it. Let's take our break. We're gonna come back. Brian Peabody, head basketball coach at Pema College. We'll be joining us a couple of minutes. So stick around. For more than twenty years, the Window Depot has provided the best price and the

Hey, welcome back to Iying the
Ball here on Fox Sports fourteen fifty. I'm Steve Rivera, you're Jay gans Awe, And on the phoni we have Brian Peabody, the head coach of Pima men's basketball. Ryan, how you doing, I'm good, I'm good. Thanks for having me on so how many years now at least two dozen, maybe at Pima, just at Pima. Yeah, this is I believe it's my thirteenth year. Thirteenth year, Okay, but overall you're like one hundred years. Yeah, I mean you're like old, aren't you. But
he's not. He's just old. I think he's younger than both of us. I'm not sure that's Bill. You can still be old to be younger than both. Oh no, so, Brian, last year, we had a very successful year. I don't think you got where you wanted to get, but it was much better than the previous year, right in terms of players and fit and all that. Yeah, it was. Uh we won twenty five games, you know, we won our conference. Uh, it
obviously felt game short of the national tournament. So we obviously did not reach our goal, which was very disappointing. You know, you're one and done at that point in time, and and we just did not play well. We've beaten that team two weeks earlier by sixteen points and just laid an egg
in the conference championship. So this my reason pressing the question, how about this year in the transition year of feeling that pain and then getting ready for this year well, it just it just made me work that much harder. Uh and and my staff you know, recruiting and just recruiting the right type of kid. And and this is the best you know, just like right now on paper. And obviously it's way way early, but this is my best team that I've had in a long long time, just blue collar.
We've already got uh one kid that's already committed uh to a Division one school, and I've already had three three guys get offered scholarships. And I think that's the first time I career that I've had four kids offered scholarships before the regular season has even started. So I'm really excited about, you know, what's going to happen. So what are the what are the challenges with you know, sort of the quick turnover as compared to a four year school.
You're turning guys over, you know, every couple of years. What are the challenges with that in terms of trying to be able to trying to find the right fit for guys, you know, guys who you know, they're only coming here for a couple of years, but we need we need to know right away that they're what we're looking for. How tough is that, you know, I think I think it's probably a good fit both ways. I think guys are probably tired of me after a year or two years,
and I'm tired of them after a year or two. So it's probably probably in the right spot where I should be. We're supposed to some of the four year schools. I've got to get for four years. But you know that being said, you know, it's funny with all the D one guys talking about, you know, not liking the new changes and all the rules and stuff, and it's like we've been doing that for one hundred years, you know. So it's just welcome to our world. So your wife must
be the MVP if she's lasted this month, no question. He's the ASI white player all the above. We just celebrated our twenty fourth anniversary and I brought up all at six grooms men, and I think that they placed a side that I think the longest that anybody had it buried was a year and a half or knowing like that, and they were measuring months and weeks and
a player can be named later. So we've we've had a couple of coaches, a few of the coaches I asked this question because of the transfer portal and all that in the Division IE level basketball football, and we all know all about it, How has it affected you basketball wise, because now everyone's exchanging people at the top level when the JC guys are still hoping to find a spot. Yeah, it really, It hasn't changed the way that we
recruit or anything like that. Every once in a while, like I got a D two comeback kid, you know, but we don't get a lot of those guys. I mean, we've been successful by taking a kid that's under recruited and turning them into a Division one or Division two players. So I'm I'm I'm on the other end of the spectrum. I'm not taking guys that have already played at that level. Very not, very often do I
get those guys. So we're you know, we're all about blue collar hard work and trying to get a guy to the next level that you know, kind of playing with a chip on his shoulder and feel like he got slighted, you know, because of you know, the whole portal and people not recruiting you know, high school kids a whole lot anymore. So we're we're
on the other end and I much rather enjoy that. Yeah, maybe I explained it wrong, but but you have kids who are probably capable of playing the D one level but now have nowhere to go because everyone's exchanging at that level. Yeah, it's it's affected high school and junior college because the first place they go is the portal. You're correct, they're going to the portal, and it's you know, it's affected junior college. But you know,
last year I had three sophomores. All three of them got scholarships this year, like I said, you know, I've already got one guy that's going to sign November ninth, Division one, and I've got three guys that have been offered Division two. So there's you know, they're still alve You're good, They're gonna find you. And we really decided to help our guys get re recruited and send f them out and invite coaches over. And we just had New Mexico Highlands in our gym on Monday who played U of A that
their whole staff came over and watched this practice. And then Morgan State's coming next Monday, and so we're just out there really marketing our guys and trying to help them get to the next level. So when you said a minute ago that you feel like this could be one of your best teams that you've had in a in a long time, why, you know, why do you say what's what do you see that you would say that it's it's a Peabody team. I mean, I'm all about you know, sharing the ball
and how hard you play. And this is like the first group if they're like that I've had in a while. Like to me that a group like
this one comes around every five to ten years. And you know, if there's a loose ball on the floor, or I have five guys on the floor and that doesn't happen very often, and or you know, we've got had numerous possessions and the force scrimmages that we've played where the ball never hit the floor, like they're they're willing to you know, extra pass and and and be played really unselfish and and that's just how we've modeled our whole success
a team of college is just you know, being unselfish and playing hard, play hard, play together. So I was gonna ask Tommy this last night, and I don't know if you saw their game at all, but I'm sure you experienced this a time or two. You guys play fast, You've always played fast. I don't think you've ever played so. So when you teach that to guys who want to play that way, is it difficult to keep them restrained from having so many turnovers because there's a lot of possessions.
You're playing fast, fast and loose, and that happens, right, I would assume that it does. I get I get a lot of calls from coaches and stuff, and he just pick picking my brain about playing fast, and I said, the first thing I always say is you have to be able to to remain composed when they turn the ball over. Like you know, I've seen guys say hey, I want to play fast, and then the first turnover they're like, hey slow down, slow down. You can't
do that. You know, just you know, you're all in and you're gonna you're gonna get like I think we probably, by the way we play, get maybe fifteen to eighteen more possessions per game, you know, per game, So based on that, you're gonna have you know, five to six that more turnovers because you're getting more possessions. So you've got to be able to you know, whether the storm when they when they throw the ball away was one of those colors Shawn Miller, who no comment on that,
but you know what I'm saying, I know what you're saying. Well, you mentioned you got four guys already that look like they're gonna, uh, you know, move on to the next level. To us a little bit about those guys. Starting with the division ie guys, Well, the first kid is you know, I'm really happy to say this as a local kid, Dylan Baker from South Point. Uh. He was he was you know, he had he probably had fifteen Division two offers last year, and I
knew he was a Division one player. He was just getting under recruited and he'd be the right fit. And he really improved really a ton over the summer, worked really hard on his game, and uh, the NAU coaches came down, uh for to watch this practice and they they offered him on the spot. So you know, he committed to ANAU and the Big Sky, and we're really excited about that. Timmy Lloyd's kid actually plays for any of you, for Shane Burkhart, and it's a you know, in state
school and in the Big Sky. So I'm really excited about that. So he was the first one off the board. And then it's funny after they offered him that he got like three more offers after NAU came in and did their homework and due diligence and stuff. And then I've got uh two pos actually three post kids that all have Division two offers. I think two of them might get a Division one offer. Uh maybe later on in the season
if they, uh, you know, have a really good year. But a kid from uh Ga, Gabe Oldham is from Utah is a big uh six to nine the morning kid went on his mission, you know, a couple of years older. He's really really good, tough, good Uh Tanner or Jalen Alexander who played for him last year, started every game. He's got a bunch of D two offers an interest. And then Tanner Parshey from
Phoenix has an offer from Western New Mexico. So I'm really excited about it because I don't think that's ever happened to me in my career where we've had you know, that many offers so early, which means of course that you're going to be a better coach this year if you have better talent. I mean, it's that's kind of a funny joke, but true, right, All they know is it's a lot more fun like when I and I'm not kidding, there's a loose ball on the floor. There's five guys on the
floor. It makes me look like a really you know, a really good coach, and I have nothing to do with it. You know, there's don't just the way they played. Don't tell anybody, and we'll keep your secret. Make sure everybody in town's already figure that out. But I can't coach. I don't need to try to fool anybody, all right, So I know, I don't know how much you can tell. But what what
does the league look like? As you said, you won the league last year and then you know, didn't quite get to where you wanted to get to. But you know, where where do you where do you see trouble on the route? It's it's it's a long story. But we have an unbalanced schedule this year, which before everything was equal to and two. Now the D ones were only playing one time, and then the D twos were playing three times. It ushould be two and two. So I don't like
the schedule that way. I want to play, you know, D two, so I scheduled the hardest people that I could schedule outside of our regular season, like we've already played. We played Park University in an exhibition game and they're any high school out of Phoenix. We beat them by thirty. We played Arizona Christian University, any high school in Phoenix, and they'renumber three in the country. Uh, pre season, Paul, we've lost by two.
And then just trying to prepare for our league, we played Arizona Western, which is a D one school in our conference in the jambou Jamboree. We won by thirty six. So we're we're playing. final segment here. All right, before we get to you explaining your Halloween distaste, which you're gonna explain, Okay, that all the debate is on the over the college football playoff rankings and people already saying that the PAC twelve is getting crapped on because in the top six, the only team in there to beat a top six team is Washington, Yet they're not among the top four, among the top Okay, okay, you watch a lot of college
football? Yeahh for whatever that means, do they deserve to be in the top four. I'm pretty sure I would have put them ahead of Florida State. But have you seen Florida State enough? You've seen Washington. But I'm talking about resumes and stuff. Who's Florida State beating any better than Washington shoe?
I don't know. I don't know, I don't know. It's debatable, but it's look the start, this is the first, and this is but it's the it's already the raging debate that all season long, everybody's talking about how the PAC twelve is the best league in the country, you know, by kind of hands down, Yet the two best teams in the league, neither one of them is in the top totally get it, But that's understandable. But I think though, I think though, and I could be
totally wrong. The more eyes have been on the PAC twelve than anytime in the last ten years, right, right, so they're seeing they're seeing the team. Just look, they have four or five in the top twenty twenty twentyeve. They had four teams from eleven day eleven to sixteen. So that doesn't happen. Yeah, especially now when they're getting beat Oregon State, for God's sake, is still there? Yeah after just getting me by a results, well the highest of the four. Right, does that make sense?
No? It you trying to make sense? I know, I know, but I don't disagree with you. Washington has been they've been good, but they haven't been good lately. And and and they've got games left, right, They've got usc coming up this weekend. Jay, they still got to play. They still got to play Oregon State. Here's your problem. They can't stumble. If they stumble, right, they're done, right they Yeah, Washington and Oregon have both got to get to the PAC twelve Championship game
with with no more loss. I think Washington's got to get there undefeated and Oregon has to get there with one loss. The one loss that they have. They are the kid, your child who who if he screws up, he's in trouble. Yeah. The other kids, Oh yeah, they can play with the scissors, this one they can't screw up. You're one hundred percent correct on that, correct. So anyway, just just pointing out the
debate that's raging out there already. Mike de Corsi was the first one, you know who's been on the show's come out and say yeah, and he's him and Dennis Dodgs and all those guys their sensible and and they know the West well. And again, as I mentioned, you know before we went to the break, those teams, bunch teams that they have to play each other. Ohio State, Michigan have to play Washington. I mean, uh uh you know Washington stills got to play usc You know, Florida State can
lose some games. Uh you know, Georgia will probably it's got is gonna have to it's it, it'll flush out, I know. But it's kind of like same old stuff, really, the same old stuff, all right. Okay, Now I want to know what happened in your childhood that hate.
Well, so I grew up in Santa Fe, New Mexico, a little small small town community, uh, in a neighborhood, lights and kids, and we did that remember back in your time to remember back in the scare with the apples and the and the and then I'm sure they still have that. I don't know if they still were not right. So there was that, and then you went. You walked, I mean we walked. It was it was it was to me, it was just silly because my
parents could have just gotten me some candy. If that's what the end of the result was. You know, he's not the end result. It wasn't about the end result. It was about getting to the end. No, no, no, I I went to the middleman baby just yeah, pretty much pretty much. And I was always been kind of like a guy who's not really a kid, an older guy. No, I just didn't. I didn't like getting dressed up too. Did you dress up? Very rare? Because I thought it was silly, even when I had a girlfriend's here
and they want to dress up. No, not really. Wow, all right, let's take this call. How are you're on the ar and I on the ball. This is Nico, Nico, man, you get dressed up for Halloween tonight? I am because I'm going to a party. But I've an't giving out candy. I'm never doing that again. Tell me why the reason why I gave out candy last year, right, And I was sitting on the bed of the truck. I was drinking some beer free gaming for the party. And I had this girl that I was seeing at the
time dressed up. She looked good, and I had some parents tell me this is inappropriate. Well, what what was she wearing? She was a prisoner because I was a cowboy or share for something on there. Don't get wrong with that. Doesn't sound like anything wrong with that. I mean there was something wrong with it. I'm doing them a favor. Hey, little Johnny, let's skip this up. You were blazing up, were you? Yes? But I was giving out candy. Man, It's like, oh
jeez, I could have the light off. But I'm doing them a favor. The reason why, right, what do you what are you dressing up as tonight as a person from Duran Duran? Oh, Timon Lebon or one of those guys. I got this little like cone hat. I don't know. I didn't pick it up. It doesn't matter, but I I know why Steve curs in trouble. Yeah you mean whatever? Yeah? Yeah, all right, what do you do? You gotta tell your guy at the
car shot to cool it? Oh? Oh man, he had him there for a signing, so oh by, if he didn't get paid for that, then it's not a big deal. I think you got paid all right, all right, all wrong, all right, all wrong, Nico's all wrong. Get getting the candy is the is the deal? No, I am. I you can understand my point, right, I understand both. I do understand both sides of it. I was more of the kid that didn't really like dressing up. That's me costume I was going to probably wear
once and they either outgrow or not once. You're more like me than when was the last time you dressed up for Halloween? Either for actual Halloween or party? I was murdered at the time. Maybe fifteen forty years ago, fifteen years ago, fifteen years ago, sixteen years ago, and it was a party at the house. And what did you dressed? I dressed up as Punjabia? Really yeah, okay, I don't know. Unpopular, I don't know what to say about see and then now my car that's not even
even a great costume. I do it, and then my costume gets criticized, So what do their you are? He would participate, You'd be like, well, you know, you like the guys I talked to you. You you want my answer, but I give you my answers. You don't like my answers. All right, you're okay. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to do that. Did you take your kids trick or feeding? My I did maybe once, my wife did. My then wife did it a
lot. Yeah, Well it was more because we lived in a neighborhood where there's a few houses, so they went to the Foothills Mall and the stores things like that. So yes, you did. I went a couple of times. I just don't feel comfortable asking people for candy. I mean, I think Halloween ironically has become more fun for me as I get older. Sure, just because of the Halloween party aspect, A call got the call. Let's take that you're on the on the ball. But I wanted Steve
to know that I absolutely loved dressing up for Halloween. What was fun? What's your all time favorite costume that you dressed up? As you know, I don't remember him as a kid, but I remember going to a party and it was the theme was the Letterman, you know, so we wore our own letterman clothes and stuff like that, and I had the most fun I've ever had at a party, just dancing to you know, uh,
seventies and eighties music. So you didn't go trick or treating you were at a party, That's just what did you trick or treat as a kid? I went tricker three when I got home. Okay, home alone alone, I hear, I hear what you're saying. Okay, we very okay, all this business. I didn't waiting for this to play out this week. Okay, So Arizona is a no show in the ratings right right? How stock do you think they're going to be when they play uc ol A?
They don't care. I don't think this just doesn't register. I don't know. I think it might. I think they might feel I think I feel like they should be. What the what are you playing for? If you don't play for the recognition? I think I know, But I think that I think it'll get used, like okay, let's go out there, and I think it'll get used. I do, Yeah, I think I think to play these guys, I guess I ask him, ask him. I bet he doesn't say so to our face. He's gonna say, oh,
you know, we don't pay attention in the locker room. They're probably saying something else. Right, Well, Jay, you remember with our little league games, for God's sake, how pumped up? Where of those little kids when I ask them who they want three times right there is who are we? Who are we? And they just do not? Yeah, no they Yeah, they weren't athletes. Listen to that stuff. They do are the astros? Man? Yeah we were, well we were called other things,
you know. Yeah, yeah we were. Yeah, we were. Okaycat'd that you had a chance to be going as a trick or treater. All right, Jah, thanks about that. I think Ucan is going to be all that can handle because of the defense. That defense is gonna be tough. I watched them play the other day. Man, they're tough, they are. That should be a really fun game. Yeah, I would. I'm gonna make a controversial statement. I think Delora is a better fit to
start this game than the other kid. I'm just saying, I bet, I bet there's a fifty percent chances in the game in the second half. Interesting. Okay, we'll hold you to that next week. Yeah, all right, Jeff, thanks, all right, Okay, that's interesting. Well, you know, I mean there's gonna be the toughest defense they played all year long. And and you see me, it may there is a chance, you say it me figure some things out to cause uh no, to
some trouble. But we'll see. But you know, he's he's certainly shown that he can stand pretty much anything. People on people online were comparing him to Khalil Tate in terms of mister mister October thing. Oh that stuff. It was just it was just an interesting little conversation that was happening. I think it was four and oh and a bunch of pass Yeah. Yeah, two completely different things. It's two very very different things. Uh. I mean, I get you know, what what clil Tate did was, you
know, just doesn't happen. Nor fat is more of the for the duration. Right, It wasn't just you know, a flash for four games or whatever. People figured out a little hey, so, uh no, Fafida looks like, you know, he can he can keep doing this and keep getting better and better and better every week. So that that's that's sort of a big difference, uh right now. So anyways, all right, okay, interesting stuff. Well, Steve, you know I've been giving you a
crap about your Halloween no, I get it. I get it. You're you're you're a happy, go lucky diabetic. You know. I I've had some Halloween candy because somebody brought some to our tailgate party, and then then there was you know, we brought it. We bought our candy yesterday. So sureighbor you live in neighborhood. Yeah, but you know what, our neighborhoods gotten old. There's really not a lot of trick or cheers, okay,
but they're enough that we have to have some. Sure, maybe fifteen whatever if that see that, you know what I'm saying, it's diminished a little. And you'll bring it in here. I'm sure that your grandson's gonna go out. Yeah. Yeah, well we're all going out with and I'm gonna be like six adults and a baby going trick er chief. Are you going to dress up? No? Why not? Because I didn't go get a costume. You Dodgers dressed up as a Tata. We get a kid.
That's who I am. Man, That that's my that's my persona now and when I when I'm at home, I'm the big fat, old grunky data man. I had the kid today. Man, he was working me hard. That's why you're tired. I'm really tired. That's why you're tired. At home from a meeting and immediately was on kid duty. I just chased him around the house all morning. All Right, that's it. We're gonna take our break and not take a break. We're gonna get the heck
out of here. Everybody have a great, safe Halloween, right, and we'll be back tomorrow. There'll be kind of stuff going on. I think the Big Twelve schedule football schedule for next season gets released, so we'll probably have some conversation about that. So we'll see you tomorrow.
