M Well, so he's a three star guy. Committed Arizona six foot hundred and seventy five pounds for seven Sports ranks him as the number one seventy five cornerback in the twenty four, twenty twenty four recruiting class in the hundred sixty seventh best prospect from California. But you know, six foot one seventy five good size for a cornerback, good size for a quarterback. But as we all know, I know you're that guy. He looks good off the in
the bus. He looked good on the bus, you know, didn't cruise looked for all the bus in the airport. Yeah it look. You know, they're still mining guys out out of southern California and that's a good thing. Well there's that they have the kid from Colorado, right right, Uh so they have they have a he's like rich Rot, a nice stocking quarterback. Yeah, you know we I meant to talk about this yesterday and we didn't. Baseball and softball going to be back in the Olympics. Oh yeah,
yea see that twenty twenty eight. Yeah, you know, right, interesting and we'll see if from you know, Mike Hendrea you know, participates in you know, influence on you know, some sort of whether he coaches are on a consulting basis like that, probably at least involved in pulling all that back together. But you know, again they got rid of baseball for breakdancing? Is that what it was? Is that what was breakdown? Yeah? For they took out baseball so they could do break dancing in the Olympics.
And then they saw the World Baseball Classic have incredible numbers on media this summer and they were like, we maday huge, huge miss right, and it's coming in twenty eight, twenty eight. It's gonna be in la isn't it worse? Yeah, that's when it's Yeah, that's when coincident. Yeah, Well, they've got the facilities for it, right, they'll be able
to have it at a bunch of great places. Speaking of Kirk kurb Street, as we were in the in the last segment about the how we did watch college college football, Kirk kurb Street his top performing coaches of Week seven, Kaylin de Borr from Watching from Washington, Al Golden from Notre Dame, Tyler Santucci from Duke and Jetfish Arizona. Well, yeah him, as he's
number four to performing coach. I still say that if Colorado was in Colorado and the stuff that they did before and one a few games the Jet that Arizona program would be We talked about for what they're doing or what they've done last three years. And and I Will had something that was interesting on Twitter Saturday because one of the announcers said that they that Colorado has knocked off some big guys. Anyways, they haven't had not they haven't, they've wont they
beaten you move three and three very mediocre? Right, then they be Nebraska, Nebraska, same thing, right, right? And then and then who is the last one? Oh? Then they be Colorado State when they should have lost that game over right, right, So it's it's the eyes are lying to you. Yeah, the eyes are lying to you. But he's a story. He's a story, and it continues to be a story,
right, continues to be a story, all right. Uh So sort of this just came out sort of a I don't know, it's something that gets talked about every year because you know, it's like when you're hiring a coach, you know, the timing of it is, so it's so uh crazy about it. So the NFL just uh, the NFL owner has just approved a proposal to not allow in person head coaching interviews from other teams until after
the divisional round of the playoffs is completed. So between you know, so before the conference championships, so you know, you gotta wait a little longer to be able to go snatch somebody's coach and pull them in for interviews. And so it'll be interesting to see how the NFL does that all that. You know, when you're hiring college coaches, you know, you hire, you fire a coach in mid season so you can be the first one out, you know, hiring a new coach. So anyways, Jonathan Gannon the
coach of the your Arizona Cardinals. They're not Kevin's Cardinals anymore. According to a the Central Sports is hinting strongly that Kyler Murray may be making enough progress to get back on the field and sometimes soon. You know, during the summer, didn't we think he was going to be playing by now? Yeah? What are they saying? Like Game four and you know he'd come off of off of it and then he was he was kind of ready to do that, but they didn't do it. Yeah, they didn't do it.
They added some more time on the IR so he's but they're saying he might still play, So we'll see. But you know, I don't know how much better are they're gonna get with him. I really don't. It just doesn't seem like they've got much going on over there. Just a real quick note Arizona men's golf, they've won a tiger. Christensen won an award for a Golfer of the Week in the PAC twelve. He was the medalist at
the Stevens Cup, which was a tournament, a very prominent tournament. He was nineteen under during the tournament, which is a lot, so he was named co Golfer of the Week. We got to get Jim Anderson on. It looks like they're pretty good. They're pretty smart too, that team I g p A. I'm pretty sure. Well, you gotta be I g p A to be a good golfer. You think your way through the golf course. That's true. I don't. I should should, but I don't. Doesn't. I don't either. It's hard on the back. It's hard

Oh, the PAC twelve released UH or set the women's schedule now, so all the all the games are set
up, game times, whatnot. They Arizona opens PAC twelve play on Sunday, December seventeenth at five o'clock against Arizona State, and then they go uh and then they finished the non conference schedule. Then back in conference games starting on January fifth, UH and January seventh, and Tucson against Colorado and Utah. You see that uc LA the national rank you see LA is like a top five team and Stanford is like, well we saw pick third. I
think the win in the packed all but apparently really damn good. Yeah. So the Utah it's kind of out it. I mean, just a few years ago they weren't all that good. Yeah no, no, no, they came on the scene pretty well pretty quickly here. No, I know, we'll see what happens with Arizona. Yeah, well they do. Yeah, so the conference schedule again starts with women's conference schedule starts again with ASU
mid December, and then they go all in January. FI. Did you see that the pack the Big twelve commissioners gonna have the football schedule out sometime soon. I saw that went out recently yesterday, that they're working on it could come out anytime now. How they're going to do it. How they're gonna do it, Yeah, right, so that'll be interesting to see. Like you said, I think about they have Kansas State on the schedule next year that it might have to change, you to change, Arizon might have

Nice Steve, Nice to be with you. And Uh, I've had a lot of time watching the catch the last one. I was just gonna say, you've watched them enough. What do you think? Well, right now they're playing terrific football. God, you can't come to any other conclusion after last Saturday.
I mean, that was thoroughly impressive and the bullet points are there. The defense has much improved defensive line play, in particular Jacob mon who's blossoming into a very nice player. Jonah Coleman has embraced and he's the real deal. I think as a as a running back. And the obvious, unavoidable point is that the team has responded beautifully to Fafita to the point where I would
have a hard time seeing that he's not the quarterback going for exactly. Yeah, well that's all the discussion here here in Tucson that you know, how do you how do you sit him down? And you know, Jed Je's playing close to the vest as you would expect, But I don't know how you how you do how you do that? I mean, there's it just shows. I mean, and then it was immediate starting with that fourth quarter in the Stanford game. Yeah, and I do think Jed has Jed's in
a tough spot, There's no question. And I I've watched this before very carefully in a very high profile NFL situation, and it's delicate, but ultimately, ultimately the coach's job is to put his team in the best position to win. And the only way that I would conceive that Jedfish could come to a conclusion that it would not be fit for you, it would be if he felt his locker room wanted to Laura back in. Right, if the
players and the team say we want the Laura. I mean, it's not going to be every player obviously, but if that was his consensus, then that he would be he would have to go with that because that's what the team's going to respond to. I would have a hard time envisioning that's the case. The other complexity here, guys, is that is that you're in the middle of a season. You need to have a second quarterback. So whatever goes on with the feeda, you need to keep the Laura here in
case Fafeede is the guy. Laura has to stay to finish the year as your backup, and you need to keep them engaged. Yeah. No, that's a weird dynamic, but accurate, very accurate. So you you've followed Arizona for a number of years, Ted uh two and a half years now with Jed uh is it? Is it a media or mediocre? A meteoric gries to this point er, how would you evaluate Jed? Well, he's
been terrific. Look, there are very few situations where you could have a meteoric rise, particularly from a program that was where Arizona's had been, not just in the Sunland years, but even before that, it just hadn't been
good. And so what he's there. I actually had a brief conversation with him about this the other night and Pullman and it's you know, he's at that point where you are right there, and now it's time to take some of those close almost most notably the USC game, and you have to start flipping those into wins. You're not going to win everyone them, but you
need to start winning some of them. And the parallel for all of your fans that I would use is where Oregon State was last year, and that's what they did last year, and they started turning some of those near close calls into wins. And here they are this year is a top twenty team.
That's to me where Jed has the Wildcat program right there. And I'm sure everybody inside hopes that Pullman was the beginning of that, because that wasn't just an almost that was a supreme whol thing that they dealt to Koogs. Well, we're talking to Ted Robinson from pac twelve Networks said, you know, that's been the question. Now, you know, was that a one off? Is this or is this the beginning of something? You know, there's a bunch of the media here, some of the media here said that
it felt different. It didn't feel like a one off. You feel like this is who they're becoming. Yeah, I mean, I would say you have a two week body of evidence to show that. I mean, you played. I truly believe this that for most of the game in USC, Arizona was the better team the year on the field, ended up winning the
game, and it was a game very much like Oregon Washington Saturday. I thought Oregon was a better team in the second half watching it, but they didn't make like two or three different times where if they made one play they win the game, and they didn't make those. That's where Arizona was against USC, so they completely turned around Washington State. There was no question they made thirty forty plays that were the best of the game. And that's it's
hard to say that's a one off. I mean watching that, that was the real deal on Saturday. Now, yes, your question, never one's question is valid. Keep it going right well, Saturday, this pass. There are no fluke about that, right, no question. I know we only have about six minutes left with you. That's kind of a transition into the PAC twelve. You mentioned Oregon. You know they played Washington. Just how good the PAC twelve is and visibly I think other people are watching them.
Now what does that mean? You know, Colorado, we have the Colorado effect where more eyes are on the PAC twelve. What does that all mean for the conference? Well, I mean, hopefully it means that one team in the CFP and it should be a playoff team without concern about what happens in the champ game. And that's where the league got hurt last year was USC was in the playoff played a championship game with no upside for USC. They lost that game and the conference wound up losing a team in the
playoffs. They lost a lot of money. I'm hoping this year the league is good enough that even if the regular season champ, let's say, doesn't win the champ game, that that team is still right in the final four, and then they shouldn't be. That's where it is. I mean, look, we can go down all the road to the bigger picture stuff, but what we have is a league that in its final season has returned to its roots. It's always been an offensive based league. Quarterbacks, receivers,
brilliant offense. And the team that's swimming against the stream against the stream right now is Utah. Utah's winning it with defense and their culture because their best offensive players have been hurt. So it's always makes for a great contrast when you have that, not everybody's playing the same fifty to forty kind of football?
Can you nay? And you don't have to do this if you don't want, because we know that there's a whole bunch of But you know, who do you think is the best quarterback in the league today right now? Because there's so many good ones We saw that Washington. You know, it's a toss up from the Washington Oregon game. You know Caleb william you know he's done some stuff, but they had a bad game on Saturday. Is there a top quarterback in the league? Winiam There's no question. I mean
he he's saying, you know, he won the game against Arizona. He single handedly won the game. And this past Saturday, Yeah, I haven't watched it yet, but I've seen enough highlights to know offensive line for USC is struggling. It was against Arizona. It got beaten badly from everything I saw by Notre Dame. So Williams has got people in it faced the whole game, and yeah, he didn't have a good game. That's that's the one off. You want to use that phrase, guys, that's the one
off. He has twenty outstanding games before that. So he's a player. Panics has been brilliant, He's playing in a brilliant scheme, and that is a combination that's been INCREDI good bow knicks. Unfortunately a couple of those crucial plays that would have won the game for Oregon Saturday Boonnix didn't make one of those plays. But he's still right there. Uh and those three have you know? I think I haven't seen Sugar's Shadeur Sanders in person yet, so
I can't really speak at the same level. Cam Rising hasn't played this year. To me, he is just a half a notch below the other three guys I mentioned. Yeah, I wanted to get you your your thoughts on t Mac. You've seen him enough. I think he probably had one of those one handed crazy catches during your games. He's unbelievable in my eyes. Oh god, phenomen I mean, and I'll tell you how good he is
and how good calling is. And what Jed has been able to do is that Dorian Singer was a breakout star last year, right, do you think you've missed him this year? Not at all? Say, I mean that that's a great compliment from Jed through the quarterbacks to Cowing and Tea Mac And I know Lamonious Craig hasn't been as hasn't been as prominent a figure yet, but he's taken singer spot and been a guy they can go to as well. So but yeah, McMillan is it's you're seeing it with Pennix and Roma
Dunza the same way. There are balls that announcers now get into the trap of calling them fifty to fifty balls. And Ryan grubbed the offensive coordinator Washington told us a great thing this year. He said, that's not a fifty to fifty balls. He said, that's Michael Pennox putting the ball in the place where we believe our receiver will make the play against the oppiteam the opposition's defender. And if Pennix puts the ball in that place, we think a
Duneesa wins that battle. That's exactly what the Cats feel about. McMillan. Yeah, yeah, no doubt, no doubt. So you know, with those an incredible game, you know last weekend there's gonna be some more us. He's got to play Washington, uh in Oregon. It just I mean, we have a second half of the season that is building up to be just unbelievable. You know, man, is there any way of predicting how this thing is gonna come out? You know, the one thing that we
have is exactly what you guys reference. The heavyweights all play each other this year. We didn't have that last year. If they all beat each other up to a team like Oregon State or hey, the way the Cats have played the last couple of weeks, if they get on a roll here, could they put themselves into a tiebreaker kind of mix to get to Vegas. I mean, none of this is out of the rebel possibility. That's what I'm saying. I think to me watching them with my eyeballs, the two
best teams are Washington and Oregon today as we speak today. Well, you know, people in Tucson loving what you just said about Vegas. So maybe that'll happen. You wish it that happens. losing the gaming. You're like, how long is Deon gonna stay? There's always a reason to watch Dion, Well, he's on the side. To your point, either you watch him because he's a car crash or or or begun. You want him to lose, or you want him to succeed, because that's kind of like either he's Hollywood with all that people who love him, and then you say there's and you know these people, you might even
be one of these people who want to see him fail. I'm trying to be one of those people, but I'm not being very good at it because I'm I'm I'm kind of liking to see I'm liking what he's doing and what's that just the way he's going about it. Just what he's going about You know, when you see his his his speeches with his players and how he's handling players, and you see him hug his kid and all these things, you can't it's hard to dislike him authenticity, right, right, But you
weren't like this months ago. I know, I'm one of those guys who doesn't like all the flash and dash of some of these athletes and stuff like
that, And that's who he's always been. I've never liked it. Okay, as a as a as a player, even when he's with the forty niners, I didn't like him all that much because I just thought he was he was he was a great player, but he just called When did it change the last two months or whatever in the last two months, because you know, watching how he's doing, call nine one one, say someone's kidnapped, Jay, describe me. He's like a five Eidish Hispanic guy. Okay,
look, I'm not gonna lie. When they blew that game on Friday night against Stanford, I'm like, I'll give a little golf clap for that. More though more though, because to see a comeback like that, I would have I would have given a golf clap to anybody who came back from a twenty nine to nothing deficit. Okay, So it wasn't. It wasn't because of Dion that that I thought that that was a really cool outcome of
that game. But you know, I did say, you know, I was rooting against him because I was rooting for Stanford to come back and win that game from so far back. So let me ask you, was that a coaching snap foo player sna Who's not that I want to put blame anywhere, But what was the blame? I don't know. I see, I didn't see enough of the game to know because we didn't see the first half. We didn't, but we saw it well, I only listen. I listened to it and then I saw the last of it about the last So
so who do you blame? Who do you approach that? That is everybody? That is everybody, and then you fall apart in the second half. You blame that on everybody. The coaches can't get away from being blamed for it, for for what happened there, but neither can the players. You
know. I couldn't stop. I couldn't stop. I watched his his post game speech to the player, you know, and I'm like, yeah, that's what I would have said if like, you guys, we're all responsible for this, but you guys got to own this, and you guys. And then the last thing he says was we're practicing tomorrow. Anyone walks off, walks out of it, walks out of the picture. You know, It's exactly he did that, exactly the way I would have done it.
So and I see that, and it's like how can you dislike the guy as a coach, you know, I mean it's hard to. It's hard to, especially when his son is the quarterback and he's not. It doesn't seem like the son is the quarterback because he's the son. He seems like he's the genuine that just needs more help around him. Kids are good players. They clearly got the They clearly got the jeans from the dad. There could be football players, seriously, and I mean, you can he just
get that gets shader an offensive line? Please, Well, that's the thing. I want to watch him in the end. In the end, the flaws that they had from having, you know, been terrible for so many years are showing their faces. And you can have some of the greatest players that there are, but you need more than that in football, you know. It's not like basketball. You have two good guys to be really good,
or even one good guy. Yeah, yeah, so you know, I don't know it just it's it's surprising to me knowing U c l A fan. I'll tell you what that game is gonna be all Colorado fans. That's gonna be like a Colorado home game because UCLA fans don't care enough just sell out. Yeah, unless Colorado fans have a lot of people there. Well that well remembers like like Arizona. Remember, you know Colorado's big deal
was to recruit southern California. That's why they wanted to be in the in the the the PAC twelve ten at the time, because they have a huge base in well, southern California.
