This is I on the Ball with Steve Rivera and Jay Gonzalez on Fox Sports fourteen fifty powered by Nova Insurance Services. Make sure your most prized possessions katz R two SA at iHeart Radio Station The Good Afternoon. Everybody, welcome to I on the Ball Here all Fox Sports fourteen fifty. I'm Steve Rivera, He's Jaken Zalez were bars Buyers Holves Today I'm gonna take a nap midway through.

Would that be different from our days? Just kind of look a zombie now, that's what I do. I know today was my early breakfast meeting day and I'm a little wiped out. Yeah, and I'm I've been in meetings, so you know how those meetings they were busy guys, Steve. You know again we continue to be a busy guys. Yeah, we're just good bat alternative. Well yeah, I mean we could just be not busy. Love busy guys. Oh how about them nuggets, but we won't get

into that. Yes, Now, we have a good local show today right with Annie Moore Alice from our sports son kind of you know him and his brother are all over the city doing their stuff for OL Sports. To Son seasons finally over, I think, so we'll take a rundown of all that, all the championships, a lot of them, a few of them. Yeah, most recently we had we had miss stand right, fantastic, she

was great. Conill have another one tomorrow hopefully, and then on the second hour we'll see what's up with baseball, right Broby Hutchinson is up covering the uh. The Wildcats up at the PAC TWEF tournament had a nice win today twelve to three, beat the dukie out of out of Asu, which is, you know, double fun. It's nice to win a PAC TWEF tournament game, and it's even better when you uh, when you beat Asu.

Somebody posted that Arizona has faced Asu four times in PAC TWELF tournament games this season in different sports and one all four games basketball, baseball, softball, and beat follow because I think Arizona took home the territorial cup, right, and we should ask this of the answer if we ask Ikey, we did ask what what do you did? Wed it? Maybe it wasn't he know it was it was? It was it was m Jordan Geist Jordan Guist. Okay, yeah, so hekey, it's gonna give you the company line,

blah blah blah. So how how important do you think it is when you win it? It's obviously a part when you lose it, right, when you win it, it's a big deal. When you lose it, you don't think about it. You pretend like it's not a big deal that people on your nose, what people will Yeah, when you when you don't win it, you kind of like who cares? But when you win it, it's like, hey, we won the Territorial Cup. Yeah, no, I hear you. And that's the way it always is, right, The

ASA game doesn't matter until you win it. Right, if you lose it, you accepting football, you lose it, you go, h okay, big deal. When you win, you go, hey we kick your butt. Right, So no, that's the way I think that's the way it works, which is fine. Yeah we're just trying so well, good year that way, at least for Arizona, right Yeah, yeah, you know they're not gonna be building any billboards. But no, but you know, especially when you win football, that's the big you know, football sort of

gives no matter what happens in all the other sports. It's kind of who wins the football game gets your brag all year long, because first of all, it's come to be expected that Arizona's gonna win in basketball. Softball has gone back and forth, um some of the other sports back baseball, back and forth. So it's always about the football game. So and then okay, we're gonna have those two. But I want to get it, well, we have really nothing to start with today outside of the Nuggets advancing.

You know what that I've heard today a couple by a couple of people, Lebron Lebron, did you listen to his post game? I did not listen to the post game, but I've read a lot about it, he said. I listened to it. I saw what I'm thinking, kind of like the current thing. You don't really know him until you know him, and I don't know Lebron, and you listen, he's just that's not that Lebron.

I remember. Yeah, he was very very good on the post game, very contrite, and you know less Lebron well, and then you know, look, he's he's getting to that at age. And you know, like a lot of guys, once you get to that point, you know, you evaluate at the end of every sea. True, true, I want to do this again, but also let me and let me see if this is the case with you. I know you were in sports a long time ago. Uh, And can of know the people? Uh? And

I'll tell you my experience when you're you know my experience. I've been talking about it. You know these guys, right, they in their minds are bigger than life, afforded luxuries that you and I wouldn't be afforded at many levels, high school, college, pro Uh. But once it's over, once it's over, once the clapping stops and real world hits, they're different people. I'm telling you, I'm not trying to trying to change your mind, but they're more you and me. Yeah, unless this this, Uh,

can you give me that water? Can not if you're Lebron, not if you're Michael Jordan, not if your Tiger Woods. Because their lives sure, oh, incredibly different. But I'm talking about the people. We but generally guys we know, you know, I don't know why this guy game, right, But Mike Bibby, right, he's he's up in Phoenix. I mean, he made a gazillion dollars. He's coaching high school basketball in high school basketball age players just kind of doing what he might have been doing

if he hadn't played college and misunderstood while here. Uh, he's a good friend of mine. He just had his birthday left a week or so ago. He's been on the show. He comes on and it's very and Mike Luke actually teases me because he's I'm the only one he comes on to stop too. And we've talked him a couple of times, right sir, and just a normal dude, right, just you would not know that unless you knew that, right. So, But my point to he was you see

them change. I'm sure you met some golfers that are kind of or basketball players well you know, yeah, I mean yeah, we haven man athletes over time who are a little different. But um again, you know a lot of these when we've talked to some of these guys that you know, we're a great athlete. Eddie Leon Okay, he's a technically a relative that was a professional BA a Major League baseball player, you know, came back

to Tucson, got into some business. I ran into him a couple of weekends ago on the golf course and he's just a guy, you know who came here and made a really good living as a as a real estate developer and he's retiring, um, and just he's out playing golf and you know, you he walks up to you and you don't say, hey, there comes a major League Baseball player. Is here comes a regular guy who had a job just like the rest of us. Yeah, right, guys like

Ron Hassey. We had Ron Hassy. He's living in town here hanging out and he had it. He had an even better career than than ualy because he played in some World Series one or World Series uh, you know, and that kind of stuff. And you hear that, oh they're kind of prickly, they're kind of ornery, you know, and then eventually saying, well, maybe that's just not maybe it was a bad day. You think

of John Feena and Glenn Parker, very very good dudes. You're doing stuff and just hanging out, and you know, they made even more money but yet and they're set up for life with the money that they made. But they're all just kind of regular guys out there living their lives doing what they do. And it's it's kind of cool to see those guys. Yeah, yeah, I see Lebron is that I think is a that's a different kind of a what's a different because he's one of the most recognizable athletes out in

the cutting in the world. I've got a news, breaking news tidbit involving Michael Jordan that'll tell you these guys, guys like that aren't regular. What did he do. I'm not gonna tell you. You have a breaking news. It's a fun thing. And he didn't show something. He didn't do something bad. No, no, no, I'm thinking maybe he bought an island or something close, something close to that. But you know, so guys like that at a higher left, like Lebron, his life will never

be normal, no matter how normal he wants to make it. Let's say he wants to go be a high school basketball coach, you know, to coach his kid or or what that that that that can't happen. I don't think it can. Maybe he can go just grandkids right in twenty years, by that time, by that time, but not you know, that's something in the next couple of years, In the next couple of years, or the first couple of years after he's retired, he's still going to be Lebron.

Well, that's what struck me about him. Last night, very contract, very very level headed. You know, we were not committing to whatever. And then they ask him about your kids. He kind of says, I you know, what can I say? And then he talked for two minutes about him. Yeah. You know, you know, a guy like Lebron, you almost wonder if they're not prepared. You know, too many aren't to be retired. Many aren't. I mean, the end game is

the toughest game, right, because you don't know. And I've known a lot of people inside of the sports and outside of sports who don't know the end game. And maybe he's just gonna keep playing just because he doesn't want to deal with, say, the end game, you know how it is. I mean, come on your sixty whatever. I don't there's sixty four. We talk about sixty four. So I am what I am fifty nine and I hope to do this for a long time. Yeah, I don't

know how long, right, but you know, heck enjoy it. Yeah, and if they enjoy it and they're gonna pay you like Ron, and well, the whole thing with Lebron, you know, because again he was noncommittal last night, but everybody I should I didn't go. I didn't have time to go back and see the interview, Butody clearly noncommittal. You got to think about stuff. But you know, I just read a thing that says if he decides that this is it, he potentially gives up one hundred

million dollars in salary over the next two years. Oh yeah, right, which is crazy, but you know what he can well, yeah he can. But let me say also something that maybe it's been mentioned in the story you read his son, he wants to play, wants to play with play, and that's two more years, Like how much of it, that's that's

a long way that way, that's maybe two years. Maybe, well, because let's say he's not good enough at USC to come out after the first year, where somebody was right, right, and he'll be forty by that time. Yeah, you know, I mean, but he didn't look forty last night. We talked about this, Yester. Yeah, I think you have you have it's every day, every day is a different day. And he looked he looked like Lebron in certain points. Yeah, yeah, yeah,

he did stop being with thirty in the first half last night. I thought, Okay, he's imposing his will like Lebron can The thing is the rest of the pieces around him, sure weren't. Weren't there for you? Sure? And that's the look. They were the but the seventh seed. Yeah, they were the seventh seed. They should have gotten this far to begin They were playing game like like the like the Miami TA. They should

have gotten this far to begin with. So to expect him to beat the number one seed or far, to expect anything but the number one seed to sweep the seventh seed in the conference finals, I think baby, people got a little caught up in Lebron being able to impose his will against anybody, Well, he couldn't. He certainly couldn't again, you know, against Yo Kitchen his guys. Yeah, well, and it was fun. It was good. Four games. I don't I don't even know what the odds were.

I want was six totally wrong because I thought it's La Chris were that didn't play well? Well? I mean, look, they beat the defending chaps. Yeah, you know, yeah, I mean they took care the defending chap. But Steve said they weren't the championship team. They were in a championship you know. Well he say no, of course, but he's not gonna stay while they're playing. We're gonna go through this left to get him and ask, um, Well, it's like, um, how can

I say this competition matters? I've said this all along, Um, you coached where you're coach one a team, You got a south Point and get beat whatever by twenty and what south Point gonna say? Yeah, we should, we should should we should be in by more or whatever? Yeah. Yeah, yeah, it's like the basketball, the basketball schedule. Yeah, now we have some Arizona versus Arizona stuff. Yeah, there's the meeting exactly. And if you don't need your meat, you ain't gonna have your You

ain't gonna have your pudding in March. Very clever, very clever. Thank you. Only only the people our age would know what that means. But it's true because people talking about, well the schedule is soft, they didn't know how to beat. They've got beat on a day that Princeton was very good a lot of people, and Arizona showed who they were kind of like faded and faded in the end. So it is what it is. Yeah, I know, I look, I mean, certainly the time is coming

for Lebron. I can't imagine him going more than two years, right, and you know, and if his kid doesn't come out and get it and get drafted and get on a team that Lebron can be on a team with, yeah, then I can't see him sticking. Well, it's three three more years sounds like such a long time. It's like Brady's forty five, um and still kind of really good. I mean, you have Rogers who's

thirty nine? Is thirty nine? Thirty eight? Come on anything that Brad Brady even if you wanted to retire now, he can't because of his ownership. Oh yeah, he can't retire. Okay, unless he came quarterbacking for the uh, the Oakland, the Raider. I'm sure the Raiders sounds would be bad. That would be no fun for him. No, I'm getting hit more than I can't imagine it would be any more fun, any fun for you? Right? Okay? Anything else that's none, that's not breaking.

Um, we're gonna have We're gonna have a fun conversation about a post by Big Game boomer who were the most sensitive and least sensitive college fan bases. I'm not gonna read anything until you tell me because I'm looking forward to that. Um. Uh, people the UH. Even though a SU swept Arizona in the in the season opening UH Baseball Series, arizonas running around talking about how they've scored a outscored a SCU thirty two ty three in the last

two in the last two games, including twelve to three today. And they aston had a bunch of guys, five guys on the All pack ball team, right, so you know, only all kinds of hitting. Yep, yeah, all kinds of hitting. It's like the saftball team. Yeah, yeah, and UH and stuff and stuff like that. So no, I look, Arizona is hitting's only gonna carry you so far. Arizona's got the Oregon State Tomorrow morning at ten o'clock, they beat Oregon State, which organs

States the number two seed in the tournament. They beat Oregon State, they're into the they're into the four team bracket. Then anything can happen. But the question is, can you who's on the other one? Oh, it's an issue Oregon State rights and see that game does That game doesn't matter anymore.

That's a tough desk. Yeah, the Oregan State A SUE game doesn't matter because if Oregon State beats Arizona, that the worst that Oregon State can be is one and one, and they will be because they're the highest seed. They will advance, are they It's it's just the people from these pods events. Yeah, well no, there's three three people from the pods, and then there's one team it's a wild comes in as a walk. That

would be Arizona. No, it could be somebody who's two and oh you know, okay, I guess so it doesn't like the be Arizona because Arizona is an eight seed there. If they're one and one and being considered as walker, they're probably tied with somebody who's probably Okay, so what Arizona's win over as you did, hasn't made the Oregon State Arizona the Oregon State a sue game kind of meaningless. Uh yeah, uh, let's say Arizona beats

uh except for maybe Organsas possible. It's a very very weird format, right, I saw I read something about that's one of the weirdest things that they put together. They put in They've got three three pods with three teams in each fin Only nine teams made the tournament, three teams in each pot, so you play the other two teams. So basically you go too and oh you advanced into the four team bracket, that one more team gets in because nobody, no, you can't have another two and those fix is it?

Eusuly gonna be the highest seed that goes water. Isn't that though? Just the way to get more games in? Is that what they wanted just to seven play more, not none. They didn't want to just do a double elimination bracket. That could be way too many games. That's what like women's didn't have that, right, Tea just played elimination and no singles elimination eight team, Uh yeah, twelve team, nineteen bracket. Yeah, so okay,

because that's all the teams we gotta go. He's gonna be calling us some about two minutes, all right, okay, so we're gonna have uh andy morales. We're gonna be good. Yeah, we're gonna be running through

the basically the high school seasons for a two souths would break back. Hey, welcome back to I themall, you know, Patch Sports fourteen fiftee. I'm Steve. Each day now we have had the more relish of sports do Sun dot com? Andy? How are you good? How you got to doing? We're doing fine. We wanted to have

you on, uh talking about a lot of spring sports. Everything's done with So at the end of the day, how many titles and maybe finish a finalist? Finalists? Did the Arizona or Southern Arizona have ten? I think about eighteen team titles for Southern Arizona. Wow. Wow, that's a lot, approaching over forty individuals. Yeah, well South Point big a big part

of that with sixteen and thirty individuals. Well wow, okay, so um, and this that's for the entire school year, right, so um yeah, it's from uh, from the ball, you know, football and all that cross country through winter, which uh wrestling and basketball through the spring, softball, baseball, the whole the whole school year. Was there was there a sport that you know you had the most or was it kind of spread

out? Well, it's kind of spread out. But you know, obviously sunny Stide continued dominance in wrestling, UM thirty six, something like thirty six or thirty seven. It gave me at state championships and seven out of Poteen individual champions I mean that's just a machine. I don't know what it's going to stop. And then obviously the Cell Point boys and girls soccer with Swift Gang and Kelly Pierce Um, and then the softball with sell Point and so

and Sabino, Oh and in mcnlee's Foothills girls and boys tennis teams. I mean, these are all just machines that we have a we have a stranglehold on the state. How is that happening? Well, they like to say that the country pub sport, but you know, softball is not getting right. Two sons, two sons of Mecca for softball. I mean it basically started here with Kendrea Um, the fast pitcher, and uh, it's just taken off and Sorrow handed off to canyan Ello, canyon Ello handed off to

sell Point and sell Points run with it. It is very cyclical. And then the lower divisions you have a Sabino which is dominating. We don't we don't really have a six A Sunnyside has a great to explore her and Ariana Ross and Houser who's probably going to be operated by view of a when it's when she's able too. She's only a freshman. But yeah, softballs King and then our baseball we don't have a spring training, but our high school

baseball of Heuba College, that's basically our spring training down here. And he told you of a and they're also but it's some of our high school baseball teams can beat a lot of junior colleges. Wow wow, well yeah, I mean, and then it's kind of we've always kind of been that way though we've been a softball baseball school, I mean town for a really long time. Basketball has gotten a little better, Um, how do we do

across basketball? Well? Basketball, if it wasn't for the open division, self Point would have won again the girls, but they had that open divisions, which meant the best four a team was starting in with the best five, eighteen, best fifty team and they had the t Leah Henderson, the six footer who Idea offered, she's she's winning state championships in the eight hundred

and four hundred track, so she's and she's solid. But would you would happen with the old vision they had to give up a possible for a championship. Complain it was like when B John's football teams had to give up before a first the Open Division. Um that too, but basketball, it was kind of a down year as far as boys individual talent. We didn't have any major D one. But I think it's slowly coming back. Okay, do they have to go up if or or do they make that choice?

They have to um they if if they may get to whatever the cut line is, they have to go up. Although this year they added ah, if you lose the first round, you get to go back. The prom is they won those first two rounds, so they were stuck. They had to stay in the Open Division. Okay, all right, so you know, we we talked about some of these teams that are just machines. You know, we had Natricia stan On yesterday talk you know, salth Points won

five state softball championships in a row. She comes in and wins the last two after they have a coaching change. Um, Sabino's won a bunch in a row. I mean softball wise, are these girls getting the you know, getting chances at the Pac twelve level? I know, the Phoenix, the girl. I think the Greenway picture is going to is going to use c LA. But um, how many of these how many of these athletes are getting shots at the Pac twelve? Well, the whole infield for you,

they was all Tucson. Um, They're they're you know, they're getting shots. A lot of the stars in softball right now are sophomores and they can't talk to colleges till their juniors. And that's something that Mike Andrea really pushed. UM. But you know, the starter for sell Point, the pitcher is going to be Yu. So it's it's um, It's it's real. It's really a machine here. And I think there are a couple of

football players that that will be offered when they are able to UM. I mentioned Rothen Houser and as a couple of big hitters from Empire from uh, well, there was a kid from CDO who went to U a tagalogue. I believe her name is um To. You know, it's it's always been there since you guys were writing about it. It's it's been a streamline with Southern Arizona. Okay, So you talked about Arizona having on all Tucson UH

team Enfield um is. And this is a broad question. I don't have the answer, That's why I'm asking, but it's a kind of a strange question. So Arizona, we know softball here is pretty good. But in football when when like Jay or somebody's is he Texas good like Bijan? So are these girls Arizona good or Packed twelve good like the ones coming up? The ones coming up right now are probably small m D one. There's no really big hurlers hurlers, there's no really big hitters, um but we just

don't know. In a couple of years there there's a there's a gap right now between the seniors leading and the software is coming out and a ton of great freshman. The Empire picture is a freshman. So it's it's hard to gauge because you get to count on the club scene. And if you remember, Mike never today never recruited those kids. He always waited till they were juniors. But then they opened up to everybody, and that's other schools got

good. They started getting the younger kids, but they moved back to you can't talk to juniors anymore, ye until their juniors, So it's kind of hard to gauge. I feel like this is the first time we're hearing about Empire. Yeah as a as A as A softball program. Is that Are they relatively new to this? Have they've been building toward this word an empire?

Well, they had. They had two state championships, um I wanted to say six years ago, and then then they had to go to five A that they were getting big and they made it to the semi finals, and that's five A is very tough in all sports because you're dealing with phoenix teams. But then they built Michael Mountain and a couple of other high schools, so they went back down to three A. And if it wasn't for Sabino, Empire would be the team. There's always that one team that's holding

another team back and Sabino. I think Sabino's beat them like eight times in a row. I believes and four of those my t trainnings one went to fifteen innings. So it's a if it was it wasn't for Sabbino, her would be the team to be talking about the three A level, and those three level there's always one or two just like football, there's always one or

two gems that can make it to a D one level. You're talking about the players, let's talk a little about the h and we don't have to talk about specific people that you want to, but the coaching must be just equally as good because that doesn't happen by accident. Where the kids play well and whatever, but they're getting taught well too well. Look at soccer, do you have wilf Gang wherever and Kelly Pierce. I don't know if you can find another duo of that level anywhere at any sport. You guy who

know Wolfgang? I think he's spoken to Kelly and you know she's wanted every level. That's just incredible in itself right there. And then football you know you have Kelly Fowler, you have Tricia Sudaniev and he could be as I think you're going to talk to, Yeah, try to and she will that team to win her positive attitude when the kids, when the kids um tarped that field, she made it a positive we're wearing this together, let's go get this. And you know they were. They were stalled three times,

I believe, and then they got to play. And Jason Heisi's UH coach at CDEO Baseball when they were down, I just was listening to him the d I never write what I hear in the dugout, but he was, man, I wanted to go up to bat, and you know, I think that's her Kanathon a row And they have six six in the makers so four of one, four of one MLB World Series championships from the CDO Baseball team alone. Yeah, so let me ask you. Can I ask you that real quick? To do it? I won't forget Heisy. So you

know he was on the show a week or so ago. I've talked to him before. Don't know a whole lot about him. You probably know him better. Uh, intense dude, very straightforward dude. Is he any different than that? And what what makes him with the kids? What? How did he play for him? Well? Heisie's kind of guy who I think people are afraid of because of the way it comes off off, but if you know him, he's a really good guy and a great coach. He

just very stern and straightforward, and the players play for him. And CDO has always had that and their coaches, they've always had someone who knew what they were doing. And it used to be a machine in itself because you had everybody who made the majors played to the CDO Little League Michael Gallis. It was all just your expected of you. So by the time he got

the CDO, you already played together for five or six years. And no other school has that besides CDO and no Gallis interesting makes sense, right, Well, yeah, and it's very interesting because yeah, I mean if the guys grow up playing together, you know all this time, yea each other one they there's there's the camaraderie of it, but then there's just the knowledge of each other on the count and they've learned the same way, and they've

learned exact way exactly, because I think Sabino had that for a while because you know, my son played it. It's in Sabino Canyon Little League and yeah, you know, all the all the all the little leaguers coming up, you know, talked about playing at Sabino UM and there you know, there are a whole bunch of them, uh, pretty broken up. Now, Um, you can never count on some of those high schools getting those kids. Now it's a open enrollment and they all wind up at cell Point

or Cdo or I have a Bridge or if Kenny the Foothills. Now, yeah, but Sabino is a great baseball program in itself, but it's just not that same. I remember when the CD won a baseball championship, a parent brought out a CDEO TENU Little League All Star shirt in the name for the same. Not only they grow up playing together. If they know who the picture is going to be, they know who the infel is going to

be. No animosity, they already know what's going to happen. Yeah, which, well, again, you know, getting back to the you know the personal connection I had to this year. My son's thirty, he's going

to be thirty next week. When he came out of there, you know, his twelve year old year, there were a lot of kids even at that time who didn't or I actually let me say that when he was thirteen and fourteen, who didn't play in the thirteen and fourteen level because they were all playing club ball, and so kids started to leave little league to go play club baseball. And you know, some of the best players in the area were no longer playing little league, and at least that was out on

the East Side where we were. So's it's getting that way more and more. It's it's that way with softball. Obviously there's no really league like softball, but uh yeah, baseball baseball players play, as you know, on several teams in the summer. Yeah, so they all they all know each other. All the football players all know each other. It's it's a different world. There's the Internet and the club as just matd we were playing against

your friends, and it's a very interesting dynamic. For instance, in the in the Sabino Empire game, right when they were done, the Sabino and Empire pitcher traveled together Phoenix because they're on the same club team. Yeah yeah, and there's gonna be there's gotta be some rivalry, you know, in house rivalry because they played with each other so so much. Yeah. Yeah, Hey, so Andy, I'm already I'm already getting football on the brain.

So football next season. Um, from what we saw this last season, Well can we you know, who are we looking at? Uh, you know next season in town. Well, at the highest level, you're you're probably looking at at Morana UM. They're they're gonna come out, you know, really hot, really hard. I mean they came close last year. I'm just trying to think in the five A level here. Oh yeah, Morana, Sunnyside, Um, Sianaga, ironwood Ridge the same, the

same cast. But the five A is difficult because you didn't have to match up with the Phoenix team and sell Point. You know, it seems to be getting a lot of the players, so they're they're gonna be one to watch again. And uh, but you have to go down to the three level to see how well two sons gonna do because that seems to be where we've been dominating us for Sabino UM, you know, we're escaping all those

big kids. But the thing about football and Tucson is it it's all or Valley, Baale, Sarrita Foothills and not to any any b. John Robinson's on the way. While some will tell you there's a couple of Sabino Um, there's a I think Tucson High is going to start getting some the Avenue coach U that'll be determined this summer when we go out and look around. There's still some kids we don't even know where they're going to show up at.

Yeah, they're transferring, and that's something we never had to deal with you before. But the transfer machine has it. It's like the transfer port on. It's his high schooling. So as far as individual talent, I think Sabino has a lot of individual talent. Branna Always has a good quarterback, South Point has a lineman, tank avertie. It's going to be interesting to see how they respond without Jay Dobbins as a coach. But that's what

we're dealing with here with the Open Division. If the teams are really well, they're kind of stuck. If I could just one quick question, of all the championships and all the storied lines out there, what was the most impressive to you? The most impressive? And it's going to be hard for you guys understand what Probably the Kenny Always tennis team. They're like thirty one and one over the last twelve years or something like that. I mean,

that's just hard. It's hard to put my mind around that. But also in individual it's in Keylie wild as self point running, Carlos Testaurian winning an individual golf championship for sell Point. These are all these are all just things people's never heard of. But oh and then the Sunnyside, that's just a given now, it's it's it's probably beyond impressive. Now, Audrey jimenez'ry to

come back with her senior year. To me, in my mind, she's passed Kensey Fellow is the best high school a girl athlete in twoson history, because Kelly had two national awards. But Audrey is winning international championships, world championships, and she's gonna win four state championships and wrestling in a row before she goes off the Olympics. It's it's gonna be hard for anyone to match that in any sport for a girl. Um, so we'll proably the most

impressive ones. All right, Andy, Well, thank you very much. Hey, thanks about Andy. Appreciate it, man, no problem getting appreciate it. Doctor. Later he puts the things in perspective, and you you know the girls somehow. Yeah. The wrestler, well, my, my, my random knees is a wrestler. Oh okay, there's that connection. Okay, okay, look, were already over. Let's go all right, let's take a break. We're gonna come back and we'll take your call.

We have about fifteen minutes, fourteen minutes. If you want to call us, we'd love to hear from you, the first time callers. We'd appreciate it. We actually

have eleven minutes. Oh yeah, because we went over, We went along, We went along with uh with Andy and good stuff. Though good stuff. I didn't realize there were so many titles until so many titles, and we'll obviously a lot of success, a lot of them coming from Son, he said. Like he said, um and some of those individuals. I have no idea when you think that, you know, we've got teams from one eight really through five A there's a couple of six eight teams. That's

a lot of opportunities. But you know, as he said that in some of the lower divisions. Um where you're not you're not up against these you know, five thousands populations schools up in up in Phoenix that they seem to have they seem to have a chance. You know all the school seemed to be pretty small here in uh in southern Arizona for a lot of different yea, and that makes sense, that makes sense. But the quality of athletes

for yeah, no, it's still it's still good. You know, you still get your bees on Robinson's and these kids that are coming out and going pro or going you know, major major college and stuff like that, they're still around and they always will be because you know, two sounds a good place to live, and people come and they raise their kids here and sports are you know, you can play sports year around here, and you know, you know, Andy talked about how some of these kids that play club

ball, whether it's basketball or softball or soccer or whatever, they play year around. I mean again, you know, during my time with involved in athletics at at Saint Gregory, you know there were kids who didn't play the high school sports because they it's particularly soccer, because they were in club you know, if if if if the club season coincided with a high school season. They play club Yeah, the softball, I mean the soccer. That's

kind of strange because most of the time it didn't. Yeah, well it did, it did at our school. You're talking about baseball and soccer. No, I'm talking about soccer soccer and soccer soccer, and like kids and kids who played soccer, yeah, a club team. They weren't on the soccer team at Saint Gregory because they're busy playing clubs. This season. Go because let me say there's a rule. At least white kids played, they had soccer season, and then they had to know, well and what well

that was because in one a there are two soccer seasons. Okay, that's it. That's it. That's it was. There was a fall season. That's a winner season, and and and Saint Gregory played in the fall season. That's it. And and so kids were kids were playing club soccer during that. Yeah, that's it. Because now, or at least when the kids played that, they had this section, you know, three four months, they couldn't play. They couldn't play you know, the league, the

club because they discontinued it until it was over. And for the longest time. You know, Saint Gregor had had an athletic director, Paul Barronowski, who would tell kids, you know, you're playing high school and that's you don't have a choice, and they would you know, but he laughed, and then it's kind of like, you know, there was nobody there was there was nobody there to say, you know, hey, yeah, I mean again, I think I mentioned this, you know, just like I

think it was last week. You know, our best baseball player one year didn't play baseball because he was busy playing club basketball. I understand that. I think you even asked that of coach yesterday. Where where you play? Where do you get seen more use it, more serious whatever? And she talked about well, playing for the high schools, for the team, for

the team in the school, not about you. It's about It's about the team and you, right, And so they know that they're gonna you know, they go to a summer tournament in Press Scott or Ducks or wherever you know, uh, you know, you you that's where you see your college uh college scouts and coaches and stuff like that. I always come back to the story of it was the first tournament we played at my daughter she got on a club team. She just wanted to play in this summer. I

mean, it wasn't like I need to go get a college scholarship. She was she had already gotten the chance. She was walking on at a D three school. But uh where the tournament and it was either pres reflects if I remember it was the first club tournament that we went to plan the women. Yeah, a girls team and it was a softball team, and two moms behind me were talking about whether their daughter was going to go play at

a s U or Arizona. And I'm like, I wanted to turn out and say, you know what, ladies, my daughter is better than both your daughters and she's walking on D three. Your girls are not going to ASU or Arizona. But I always said this, have said this off and obviously the worst seem to happen to the kids with the parents and they're they're delusional. Yeah, let's talk about delusional. Let's go to the big game.

Boomer back, Okay, Okay, it's a big game. Boomer who we love because he's always giving us something to talk about, right or wrong, right, whether it's right or wrong, whether it's good or bad, or whatever came out with the top twenty most and least sensitive college fan bases. So this implies it all, you know, fan base as a whole, not just your basketball fan base or whatever. So which way you're gonna go first? Well, the most sensitive would I kind of okay? Really

the most sensitive fan base of all? Arkansas really yeah, and which I I sec that kind of makes sense, maybe because they're not their fans lose their minds, maybe because they're not considered in the elite about right. Then Georgia okay because we're not Ohio State, and then Ohio State because we're not quite who are Tennessee which I would have put Tennessee number one, especially when you think back remember the coaching situation when they when they all completely lost their

minds? Right? And then Nebraska Okay, okay, which makes sense. Auburn Kansas, which I believe is weighed heavily by their basketball fan base, Miami Florida, which I'm sure because they used to be great at football and now they're not that fans are like what the hell I'm still talking about the LSU, which I think I would have put higher than nine, all right, and then Michigan, which would I would have put higher than ten.

I think I would have gone Tennessee, Ohio State, then probably Auburn, LSU, Michigan that was the most sensitive, most Okay, so let's go. Let's go with the top ten. The other way. I think this is the least censor. I think they're implying that the ten fans are just kind of rolled with the punches, right, and that what you interpret the Missouri number one. Wisconsin, Okay, I think I think Wisconsin's pretty rapid

fans. I mean, look, I spent the day before a game on State Street in Madison before and you know, their fans were they were great, but they're they're very rabid pit which are kind of like okay, Washington, UM, which I think we're very rabbit. But they calm, they cooled off ever since the glory the ninety years, Glory years. Yeah. Um, Mississippi State Okay, Okay, Perdue, all right, Arizona. This he broke the internet. I'm gonna get him on the show. Think

he got Minnesota, can't Colorado? I'm Oklahoma State right now? The show. We need a guess anyway, right right, we needed interpretation of this. What the hell are you thinking? That was cut because just on the basketball fan base alone, sure Arizona should be in the top twenty most sense. If he's talking football, I get it right. If he's talking in basketball, he's way right, That's what I'm saying. The basketball, yeah, way skews the whole fan base. He's not on Facebook where I where

I would put I would put them to most sensitive. I'm gonna send him a note right now. We're gonna go to what do we do? What do we do tomorrow? Do we say that we need? I just put them in the tire YEA, get in here this week and we want to talk about this because after what we just went through with Tommy Lloyd and the recruiting and in the whole bed, you know, I I'm not gonna put them anywhere on the ledger of the least sensitive fan basis. I'm gonna put

them over to the other side. Look, Utah's over there. Uta, I think is a rabbit, but a great fan base. Right. You don't ever hear of Utah fans losing their mind and very level well not level headed, but at least their programs are very good. Yeah, So there's my note. Could you come out of borrow we loved you the last time I had to butter them up. But we answer questions, try to lure is what you think, Like, Okay, Oregon State fan right there in

the least in the number fourteen. At least they're fun. Yeah. I mean there was about a three year period that I could and stand their fans because they were they acted like they had always been winning in football. It was in the late nineties. I remember they got really good. They went to a festiball and all that kind of stuff, and they would come and sit next to and they were idiots. I hated those guys, and I mean more than once. I said, you guys, you guys act like

you've been winning since the nineteen fifties. I said, you've been good for a year and a half. Calm the hell down. It was on the stadium across the we used to sit across the aisle from the visiting fans, like, calm down, you guys are good this year, but you haven't been good in a really long time. I said, when Arizona's record against you was like fifteen and one, you guys suck, so just relax,

so you know, but they're much better now. I mean, we see you know, you see them, you see them in tailgates and stuff like that. They're fine, BYU fan. I hate those guys. We talked about that. Don't get your I'm gonna I'm not gonna go and okay, Florida State fan among the least sensitive, no way, Yeah, I got him. We're gonna see if he comes on tomorrow. Yeah, this needs to be explained. Okay, Notre Dame fan among the least sensitive, because

you're what. Notre Dame fan is calm because they know they're good, kind of it. Everything. They're just as good as they need to be, right right, Once in a while, compete for a national championship in something and they're you know, just not basketball. Yeah, okay, well I asked him, so let's see what happens. I forget it. It's um, it's um Shaeffer. I have his picture right here as you under.

Dude done Whittaker. Okay, there you go. Yeah, you know, let's get let's get him on and see what he's got to say about all about all this gets fun stuff. I was sick that day together. It's fun stuff. Look, you know what, it's got us talking. It's gotta stalk just within five minutes of stuff. Oregon is on the least sensitive side, I mean on the most sensib number thirteen on the most sensitive side, although they're you had Texas at fifteen. I would put Texas in the

top ten on that side. You can put anybody in the top ten. It's like we talked about what we say yesterday. I can't remember what it was. It was. I don't even remember anymore. We're talking about the top fifty coaches yet. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, but that was That was college basketball report though. So that was just strictly basketball and was a little crazy Pullfrid group of guys. But you know, you don't want again. These are fun things to talk about, a lot

of fun again. I you know what he needs to come and spend like a basketball weekend and the two song to find out if he's are the least sensitive fans. All right, let's check our break when to come back. All kinds of breaking news coming right up. Remember,
