Dreamy Live, I mean my heart Radio. This is I on the Ball with Steve Rivera and Jacob Salz on Fox Sports fourteen fifty. Hey, welcome back to Why on the Ball Fox Sports fourteen fifty times Steve Rivera jakins as now we have our boy Noah was some breaking news. This is I on the Ball breaking news on Fox Sports fourteen fifteen. First of all, I like to start with the most important one. Um Jay single handedly caused these Celtics lose last night. So I don't I'd understand what you gotta teach us
your powers? Why why you keep saying that I did not touch There's no other way, right, I did not know the game. There's no other way. I did not touch the game. I barely watched any of the game. This is your reputation, this is what you've come to. I mean, look, I would love to take credit for that. I would love to say be able to say I put money on the Celtics, so therefore they lost and that's on me and I will accept that. But I
had nothing to do with last watch the Chester cat guys. Yeah it wasn't man, it wasn't me. It wasn't Okay, all right, Um, Arizona men's tennis takes on boys, you say it at two pm Friday in the first round of the NCAA tournament. Yeah. Clancy Shields, the tennis coach, went out on social media, said, you know, let's get a thousand people there. So I guess that would be a lot for for their tennis match. But uh, you know, UM getting trying to get
the word out to get folks. Which when is it tomorrow? Two o'clock Friday? Right there? They they played, then there's another match, I guess it. I guess afterwards, um, or maybe it's before. Let's see, um, who's in their bracket? No, earlier in the day a Florida and Oklahoma State at ten o'clock Tucson time, and then uh, Arizona it's it's a fourteen type of regional fourteen. It's like a fourteen subregional a bracket. Yeah, and so that's that's so the winners, the winners
would play each other on Saturday at one o'clock. Okay, crazy? Um, So Jimmy Butler's officially ruled out tonight, which makes sense to kind of makes sense. I obviously, you see it's hard for them to go. It's hard for the Heat to actually go wrong now that they have at least home court advantage, and you know, at worst like split the series on
the road. But the thing is like I don't understand. I don't know if you want the Knicks to gain momentum going back to Miami because like they're a good team, you know, they're well coached, they have good players, or if they have depth. It's like, if you're if you're in Miami, are you just hoping that like Jimmy's just gonna be able to just come back from his you know, ancles spraining, that's the size of Baseball'll just be Jimmy Butler. I don't know. A Draftking is just posted on
Twitter that a trending bet uh money line on this game. It's trending towards the Heat beat. More people are baiting on the Heat than on the Necks. The Knicks are a minus five hundred, the Heat are plus four hundred, so people are throwing their money on the Heat. But that line is
not moved to ten. The Knicks by ten. But you know, again, everybody thought the Sixers were gonna lose last night without Joel Embiid so who knows what the you know, if the heat step up and that I don't think the heat's got to James Harden though, something more something like a James Harden to fill in for Jimmy Butler. Yeah. So next thing you were telling me about Texas Texas A and M baseball player, Yeah, was hit by a stray bullet and a shooting that happened just like right outside there in
the game over the weekend. There was some sort of shooting and he's just the on the bullpen, standing in the bullpen, gets hit the chest. A kid named Matthew Delane, he plays for Texas A and M Texarkana. Hit in the chest. He's got he's an intensive care partial paralysis and his left leg collapse, lung, but his mom says he's improven, eighteen years old, just sitting there doing what he's supposed to be doing, playing ball.
Shot get shot. Um. You know, I was on on social media watching, Uh there was a video of a literally game and I'm talking a little literally gaming, you know, not not t ball, but the next step up coaches pitch or whatever, little kids, and all of sudden you hear all these shots in the background and What struck me about watching that video is that the kids knew exactly what to do. They all just hit the deck. But I'm like, they practiced this in school, and I'm
like that really pissed me off. Or they didn't see where it was at, or they are used to the situation, or they're used to the situation. They know what to do. Yeah, but you know, you saw a couple of kids ran, Like the kid that was catching and the and the kid that was batting, they both just dropped their stuff and ran. But you saw the kids out in the field, they just went straight to
the ground because they've they've been they've been trained. That's just amazing to me that we live in that country that has to be well, you know, you know back in our age, in our time sixty seventies, right, what were we talk kind of what I now that you should the nuclear bomb thing, right, get under your desk, like that was good, Like that was gonna help exactly exactly what I was thinking. That that's what we
were thinking. That's what parents. Yeah, yeah, get under the desk, which was good, which is really going to help in the nuclear nuclear some some some positive news, Okay, Dylan Brooks has been told about that. He was you will not return, And I think what I love about this is that it's like if only there is like something that could have been prevented in this situation. I don't know, I don't think there was, but like not positive news for Yeah, it's great sore gm right, you're
taking him is because I don't think he's on the level of Kyrie. He's not that good. He's not good, right, He's not that good. So he started right, I mean, he talks, I know, but he's he's that kind that's no. You know. Look, but look, I'm the guy that's not going to even take Kyrie Irving an incredible talent like him, I'm not gonna take. I'm not gonna bring his crap into my locker. But I don't think it's about him being good. It's about him
talking a lot of cred Like what's what's the point of that? You can like think about it. He he has more of a curse on like his own team than Jay would happen and TV picks like he said, he said, he said, I won't respect he said, I won't respect anyone. I won't respect anyone until they give me forty. They got blasted by forty in game six, Like it's not you know what I mean, you don't need to say what you're saying. That's if you're a great player and you
have baggage, somebody will take you. But if you're just kind of there's a lot of players out there, like Dylan Brooks who don't have the what who haven't done what Dylan Brooks did to his team. Again, he that's not all of why they lost, sure, but you know it's part of It's part of it. He'll find the row stot. Some people are saying even the Lakers might take its or someplace like yeah, like everyone's always going to Chinese. He's not going to China. The thing is like he'll It's
like he could have if you wouldn't have said anything. No one really read like pointy hands at him or the Grizzies. He's one of the main reasons why one talks about the Grizzlies have a huge immaturity problem because they kind of do. It's like him and joh It's like they're young. Yeah, but it's like he did. He did so much to make the media look down on them, where it isn't really like bad with the actual team or the outcome. It's just just put ad I guarantee you of Memphis they're blaming some
of it on him. Of course they are. They are, and and so you know, fans don't want that guy. So you know, again, there's plenty of guys out there like Dylon Brooks, plenty of guys as a player players, Yeah, as talented as Dylon Brooks that you can go get and they're not gonna have this other stuff. That's kind of all I got. So would you take him? He didn't know because of the reasons
why I could. Yeah, because like you could find someone who's not like so, like you're saying, people like him, what does he do that's special? Like, what does he do that doesn't make him like a role player you could find on like every other team the NBA, you know exactly. That's it. And that's what I'm saying. He doesn't have anything special. That's some i'm's gonna say, well, well overlook this because he's this.
He doesn't have anything like that. So it's like this season, he averaged thirty minutes of game fourteen points per game, three rebounds, uh two assists and one deal and shots under forty percent fieldgo percentaives. Anybody can do that. Anybody can do that. There's a lot of a lot of players
out there do that. It's already yeah yeah, all right, um thing he skipped over yesterday and this, uh there was a story on this um the the commissioner of the Mountain West Conference No deathletic director of San Diego State came out and said, we're playing We're going either to the Big twelve or the PAC twelve. So he said, they're not staying in the Mountain in huss you know coming up. I mean, they're either going to go to the PAC twelve with the you know in the in the coming in the coming
deal, or they're going to the Big twelve. So so I know this is not gonna be documented or whatever because we'll forget about it tomorrow. How long do you think the PAC twelve will survive, because it's it's gonna be up at some point, you know, it is at least at least until like the SEC and the Big ten have to renew their contracts again. So that wove that would say, I bet you, I bet you. The PAC twelves media deal is like a five year deal. It's too it's too
much teetering now if that makes sense. It's teetering now, yeah, and
it'll probably teeter for the next five years. Well, Well, here's the thing is that Oregon in Washington, who feel like they can or should be able to go to the Big Ten, they're not gonna want to sign a PAC twelve deal that's longer than the next renew the Big Ten in for a while, right, Big TENSI just got their deal done, So they're not going to sign on anything longer than that when the when the next Big ten deal is so because they want they want to go to the Big Ten.
And I think that that's yeah. I mean I kind of feel like the next round of it, I think is going to be different in that all the leagues are going to kind of restructure. Right, this whole idea that there's just gonna be four leagues, okay, and whatever you want to call them, if you want to call them the Big twelve in the SEC and the Big Ten or whatever. There's gonna be four leagues. There's gonna be like sixteen teams in each league. And I don't think it's gonna be real
it. Maybe it'll be regional, maybe it won't. It would take a lot of There would have to be a lot of people who aren't generally agreeable will with each other to I'll get in a room and agree to do the same thing and not be grabbing on to as much as they can grab onto Like the SEC doesn't like the victend does. So I got some Pimo stuff Pimo baseball. Andrew Stucky, his CDEO grad was named acc AC Player of
the Year. He must have a great offensive type of year. Thirty seven RBIs bad for eighty five home runs, did really well and just the CDEO grad. And also there was did you see the APR email from this Oh yeah, I didn't even look, which which I'm thinking, great, but it's like APR and GPA and all that. Okay, you're student athlete, Okay, big deal. No one pays attention to that part of the student
athlete. Yeah, and I know that the school's really you know, try and put that out, but you know, how much does you have all the average fances? Yeah? But how many games did you get a stillball game? Which is which is the difficult part of the student athlete? Agree? Um, a related Big twelve, Big twelve years, the Big twelve is looking at playing some football and a basketball games in Mexico. Yeah, they're saying that, according to the Athletic that football wants to play in Monterey
uh and men's basketball would play in Mexico City down the road. They haven't they haven't determined any teams and specific dates and stuff, but that, um, they're looking at maybe taking Kansas and Houston down to Mexico City to play a game in hoops. Yeah, that would be great. That would be a great game to watch. Yeah. Yeah, they had the Draft down
there too. I mean just last week. They've got you know, they've got some great facilities down there, you know, their stadium, they're there, soccer stadium, the you know, Azteca Stadium holds what like one hundred thousand or something like that, with some massive soccer stadium down there, and that's where the NFL has played a couple of games. So, um, and you know, baseball was down there this last weekend. San Diego was
down there playing San Francisco at at their baseball stadium. So TJ sent me he's from I was and talking about Nebraska volleyball. You see that they set up a game with Omaha at the August or September Football Stadium I think stadium eighty three thousand tickets are duding and soul. Yeah, because they're there. Yeah, it's like Arizon about you know what I'm saying. It's yeah, even better than that, but because they've done well, but a ninety thousand
to watch the watch that's a little court. You can just split down there in the middle of the football field, right. It's like watching a YouTube concert from the top of the I watched one from there at at the Cardinal Stadium. The stage was at one end and we were in the other. It's kind of like we're in the lower level. We were at the other end. It's like the Final four is. If you're not on the court, you're way up there and you can barely see the postage stemp here.
Okay, hey, let's take the break. All right, let's take our last, our next break. Hopefully we'll get some calls. Yeah, let's get some calls. Five two, zero, four, one, six, seventy four forty. Got about NOA with us today. We like some calls five two zero four one six seventy four forty talk about whatever you want to talk about, Howard. If you're not incapacitated, you don't know. All your sons are downs to give us a quick call. You can complain about Monty not playing the bench. Exactly exactly just came across the Joel embiid is the NBA MV Oh wow, that's why you were saying. Okay, that's what you were saying. Kids. I don't know, I don't I had to hear it.
Phones or something. Wow, Okay, that's too. Is that he surprised I have a little I think No, I think he was. He was like minus one thousand. He didn't want to do three. I just I didn't think he deserved as honestly, he doesn't even he just play defense the waybid does you know? Did you watch the Sun's uh Suns game last some of it? How did how did uh DeAndre play? Well, I'm gonna say probably not very well because I really didn't even notice him out there.
Okay, right, he wasn't doing he wasn't doing anything, you know, to impact the game. So the game one criticism didn't spark him. He's not good, Like he's just not good. There's a clip of him we talked about like like what, Yeah, that's that's that's that's just who he is. You could find a clip of that, like every single quarter that
he played. That's gonna kill his career. You know. Yeah, well they yeah, I mean they gave him his big money, but you know they also gave him the big money thinking that they were gonna get rid of it anyway. They paid him hoping this with motive because they already knew what they were getting right, and that's why they didn't want to do it. I don't know, man, It just again one of those things that bothers me to see such a talent, some guy with all the physical talent you
could ever want. I mean, they poured it all into one guy. I mean really, I mean think about all the Arizona guys that have come through here, the Sean Elliotts, the Mike Bibbies, everybody from just a physical talent. Yeah, no, no, you have to say that DeAndre Ayton was the best physical talent ever to come through Arizona. Yes, I'll give you another dude that doesn't fit the bill, but kind of Brian Williams. This physical can run up the court, play basketball out of your mind,
but wasn't into basketball. Yeah, just because you're big, people expected him to play basketball. It makes sense covered in Yes, do I still think in terms of this the specimen that DeAndre Hayden was, all the things that he could do that he was, he was, he was better than Brian Williams. Oh yeah, yeah, But you understand what I'm saying. To understand what yourself, because the thing about it, you and me and any common person say, you've been gifted this and you turn it into that.
What that's That's where I'm That's where I was going with that, is that I hate that? Yeah, I hate that. Or somebody is so gifted like that and then they crap all over their career by doing stupid stuff. My dad, who was a former athlete back in the day, we had a neighbor who was and I was, you know, this scrun he spent a kid, you know, skinny or whatever, could run, and he had We had a neighbor who was about six two big and he didn't
do it. He didn't play sports, didn't do any skateboarded a little. And I said, my dad was, you've been God gave you this and you're doing this with it? What are you doing? No? Yeah, and when there's so many others of us who wish we had a third of the talent that somebody like that. Yeah, not talent size or the size. Yes, because that's what you're talking about. My son is mad at
me that he didn't get past five dead. He's really well, your wife involved in this too, well yeah, but no, but see she's got some height in her family. So it's my fault, my you know, my wife's you know, late brother. He was six too. Her grandfather was you know, six four you know now her dad your dad was five five seven, so you know. But anyways, it just but you're you know, I mean, he's got to me. I think this series because so many people think that they can and should win it, and if if
DeAndre Ayton doesn't do something maybe special, this is a day. You know, people just get sick of it in a hurry, don't you think. I think people already art stick of him, like like Suns fans are just like hopeful, but when he has a bad game, they call him out. When he has a good game, it's like, okay, you know that's where you're supposed to do, saying like when when when he when he has a bad game, it's not like, oh we understand like he's been.
He hasn't done anything to justify a bad game, and it will allow you know, right, But I know, I just I it's it again. You know that that clip that you're talking about was just the worst thing. And I'm like, that's gonna stick. That's just gonna stick. People are gonna say you remember that, remember that, remember and they're gonna talk about it over and over and over again. But because you know what, the what you saw to that was that so many people say he does that
all the time. Exactly. That's what I'm saying. Like you're like, it's gonna stick that they're gonna remember that. It's like they're yeah, they're gonna remember that, but they're gonna remember that as not just one thing, as that's him, Like right, that's who he is. Do you think I don't know why I thought this because stuff just pumps into my head. Do you think that, um, that we're gonna see more of speedy speedy look in in a in a in the role that you want to see Speedy
in? Yeah, because I think part of what you know, he got hurt early, and I think that that, you know, that kind of held him back. They've got he is really good. They've got something. They've got something there with him, I think, don't you know if you use the right way, you know, he's not gonna be ah. You know, you're not gonna turn around and hand him off and run him up
the middle. But you know, again, one of those guys you get out in space with Michael Whiley's sticking around, Um, you know, and some of the other guys that they have the kid um um Coleman and you know those guys. I think Speedy Luke is a guy that he's a weapon that you stick in there in certain situations and find a place for him. But you know, bringing to an interesting subject because I wanted to bring this up as we were figuring out stuff too, you know, to talk about
here. You know, I'm on a I'm on a zoom call with a client and we're waiting for other people to join the zoom and just out of the blue, you know, one of the people on the college just having how's how do you think the football team is going to do? Now? I'm like, man, it's may right, barely may you know? And and people are talking football. I know, you know, we take small
samples and we think that that's a trend. But the fact that you know, somebody out of the blue just kind of came up and said I wanted to know how football is doing? I thought that was you know, really was it? Jed asking? No, let's take this call. Hy You're on the R and I on the ball. Hey Jay, this is Don. How are you guys doing pretty good? Don? What's up? Hey, I just why I had to Why do you sound so sad talking about DeAndre Ayton as as an Arizona Wildcat? What do you mean, well,
he was only here for the nil money. Well that was before he was pre nil and there's still some there's still some fans, former players that comes on once a week that that gets real upset when you mentioned the money. But there was no reason for for Ayton to come to Arizona. Sean Miller is a is a point guard coach. There was no reason from Ayton to come here. I don't consider the guy next Wildcat. Well you don't want here long enough? No good point, because what do you know of all
the one and dunners? What do you even Aaron Gordon? What do you know about Jared Bayless? You don't know much about these guys. They surely don't come back, right, No, And that that's what one of the things that bothered me about the one and Done is that you don't feel like there's some guys that you don't feel like ever really wanted to be Wildcats. They just came here to do a year and get out. They came here
to do their time. Yeah, right, that's what they came here to do their time so that they would be eligible to get into the NBA draft. No, I hear what I think. I think what you're what you're hearing me, though, don is that it bothers me when somebody who's got such a wealth of God given talent and ability that they don't make the most.
That bothers me. I agree with that because if he tried, if he played at sixty percent, which those of us that have worked know that sixty percent is not a lot, right, if he would do that, how good would he really be? I mean, how good would he be at sixty percent? And he does he doesn't seem like he's putting out even that. That's the frustrating part of watching him and the problem with all this, not the problem just the statements that were made before he got here.
He's the guy who kind of coasts because he feels he can because he's been gifted with all that. He was, you know, played against smaller guys, less athletics, so he was dominant without having to put in the work. Right. Yeah, Well, it's it's like the last couple of years, anytime the Suns have been on and I've watched him and I'm like, is they be playing and I have to I have to check the court to say, oh, yeah, look he's on a court. Yeah yeah,
well that's why I said a minute. And then other times it's it's you know, it's slam dunk after slam dunk, a block shot, a slam dunk, and then he disappears for the rest of that quarter or whatever.
Yeah, and to me, as the relays for Arizona, you know, the way he dominated in that PAC twelve tournament that you know that he played in just just there was there wasn't a player that was even fifty percent as good as he was, you know, won the championship, and he thought this team is going to make a run in the NC Double A tournament. And then he didn't give one crap about the first round tournament game. And
he wasn't alone in that right, none of them were. And they they go get blown out by you know, one hundred and fifty points to Buffalo. That's my point is that you see what he can do, and then you see that he doesn't a lot of times he doesn't try to do that. And there's other guys. We're picking on DeAndre because he was here, but there's other guys at tone and then you'd go around and see it got
like TJ McConnell, who gives one hundred and fifty percent. And because of that, he's been able to stick in the NBA as long as he has. And what he played two years, he played two years here, and that dude is wildcat red and blue right exactly. In fact, party the gave he gave us the effort. He didn't even have to kiss the chord at the end, right, No, And he was like, you say, two and a half years and in the last ten fifteen years, I
think there have been fewer guys more love than him. Yeah, I agree, I agree. Yeah, Well, thanks for the call, thanks for listening. As always, guys appreciated the anniversary. Let me go get roses
right now. I've never bring it three chicken wings, one for each year, but but Don makes it an excellent point that you know, and and that what really one of the things that just stuck with me with the Sean Miller time was that there were so many guys that came through here and and you felt like they don't give one crap about the uniform that they're wearing. They don't give one crap about, you know, being a wildcat, and
they don't. And yet as he as as Don said, a guy like t J McConnell, he was actually here three years because he had to sit out here. But if you, for instance, if you watch that the highlights of that Florida game, right, it was during the year that he was out. Who was the first one on the court celebraty he jumped into somebody's was t J McConnell, Right, He was bought in the minute he got here. And some of these guys got here and never gave a crap.
It's funny because I can't remember what year it was, but you know, they would let Luke go to the practices and one day, I think I asked him, it says, what do you see? What he says, Well, he says the best players not even playing right now. And I'm thinking who would that be because they were pretty good, And he said this kid McConnell. I'm thinking, oh, really this is he just knows how to play basketball. And then you saw him and he did and then
you did. Those were two Those were Sean Miller's two best games. Yeah, both of them should have gone to the final and you're talking guys that Gordon and these guys and Johnson. The best guy was the guy sitting and he was a kind of just a point guard who just did point guard stuff. Shoot, who couldn't shoot right, we shot, had a weird shot and all. But look making tons of money and now probably seventh year now or something. You root for him. I mean you root for him.
I in the league where the shimmy's not even the league anymore. Uh, Ashley didn't make it. Stanley Johnson, Sandy Johnson, Sandy Johnson's barely in the and uh and um and there's another one I'm missing. Just had it before, he says Stanley. Uh Johnson, the other Johnson guard. We had him on the show from Phoenix. Yes, uh oh um um um that one. That one, yeah Johnson from Phoenix. Nick Nick Johnson. I mean a loaded team that was you know, right on the cusp,
right right. So it's a it's it's it's a weird thing. Um. You know again, attitude and approach and you know, character and whatever, all the whatever things build into you know, a guy mentally, you know, exceeding his physical capabilities. So he makes himself so much better as opposed to some of these other players who have all the all the talent in the world that you could ask for, and because of their approach don't ever get to where you think they had to get to. One of those guys,
and I think he's you know, I can call him us now. My friend of mine is Khalid, same dude, the dude who could play out of his mind and when he did he was like unstoppable. But like Damon said, if he had my gumption to work, he would still be playing exactly, and he just kind of didn't. And it's when you and you know, when you think of it like that, you think of how rare a guy like Michael Jordan was because he had both right, he had all
the physical ability. And there are probably some maybe a few guys. I'm gonna say, maybe if you guys out there who had more physical talent, but none who had more physical talent and more and more will Michael Jordan. I was just gonna use that word will because well, look at look at Steph, Steph crazy and yeah, dude went to Davidson, was a skinny little kid. Yeah, blah blah blah. One guy a few I think I said this to you a while back, maybe a few years ago.
I said to me, how cam Arizona didn't recruit him because he wasn't Steph Curry. He wasn't that Steph Curry. He talks about work and blah, like, why didn't New Mexico recruit him? Because he was at that level amidmajor guy who turned teams into an amazing team. Right, yeah, he wasn't that Steph Curry. Wasn't. But he's gone to the court and you watch him lash, you know, in their games the other day, you know, and it's like he wasn't gonna lose that game under any circumstances.
And he had the capability physically, but also the mental approach, the way, the work ethic and stuff to be able to put himself out there and for guys to say, Okay, if he can, I can, you just don't. It's it's like people are amazed that you you watch golf, people were amazed how the shots they're hitting, blah blah blah. It's not like they fell off a turn turn up truck. They've been working this all their lives, right, you know, they just didn't just oh, this
is what he can do. No, No, they've been doing it since they were eight, right, right, No, I did you know you watch the Tiger Woods. I mean his his mental approach was as great as his physical approach. And that's why he dominated the way he did because nobody could match either one of those and change the game. And he changed the game. And and and now there's more guys like that. There's still none at that level, but there's more guys who you know, the Rory Mcroys,
Jordan Spieth, all those guys. John They physically they're great, but their mental approach is also up there. And that that makes some great players. And and uh, you know that. That's what we're talking about, is to have both of those things all at once. It's so rare to have that. So many guys have one or the other. Yeah, okay, oh, we got to another segment. All right, we have one last segments for you guys to call five zero, one, seventy four forty.

You want to give us a call, be like Dawn, give us a call. Um, Howard got off the base and call us. Let us know how you're doing. We don't have
to put a search party on Howard. Nico, come and give him an alibi. If that Mike, if you're out there not in the heat, give us a call. All our guys out there so I want to get back um, Um too, we're starting to talk about you know that just you know sitting here in May and some you know, just getting asked, you know what's going on with football? Uh, you know, just you know wondering if they're you know, there's gonna be a buzz that's uh,
you know, that's uh, you know coming up. And you know, I like the fact that, um, you know, we're not sitting here thinking, God if they could you know, only win a couple more games. I mean, it's just like you feel like they're they're gonna be you know, it's gonna be fun at the stadium this year, right, Yeah, you just feel like they're gonna have a team that can win pretty much
every time they go out. Probably you know obviously won't, but they you just don't feel like, even if usc comes to time that they have no chance, you liked your chances much more than you Yeah, you know, you walk into the stadium feeling like you they can win today, even if
it's you know, Oregon or whoever, you know. And we haven't felt like that in a really, really, really long time, right right, we all three years after someone, four years before one, a year before that probably with rich Rod, Yeah, four or five years right, well, rich Rod. Last year wasn't terrible. They got to a Bowl game, Yeah, but it was it was it was, it was not pretty, and the year before it was not good. There was the year before
was the one there they went three and nine. Yeah, but uh but you know, it's it's like it took it's taking a long time to get to that. And you know, you know, the person I was talking to ask me, you know, how many games you think they'll win? I said, you know, I don't know. I said, you know, because you know, what what did you say? I said? I said, I think they need to win six for people to feel like they kick another step, very possible, and that it's possible that they can do
that. You know, you don't sit there and see their schedule, and you pointed with six games that could be. But you know, I made the point that you know they after that, you know, no wins then
one win. They took a big step last year to win five and be one game short of a Bowl game, you know, including being in u c l A. But that that this year is like they might only win one or two more games than they did last year, but that's still a huge step if they do that, because winning one more game means you go
to a bowl game. And now that's if you're if after the one in eleven season, if you're the thought that two years later they'd be in a bowl game, you're somebody would have said, you're you're absolutely not right, especially at the place where we know where it was near the bottom, right. Yeah, So I think it's uh, um, I know, I just I just like the fact that somebody just brought that up. What you said, Yeah, hey, football, I'm excited about football coming up because
it's uh, you know, it's pretty cool. And then then that same person went on and said, what the hell with UCLA, let's see. Yeah, I'm like, you know, it is what it is. You know, this is the last school year that will be in the same conference with those two schools. Still, I still don't see, Steve, how that's gonna work for those guys. Oh, they're gonna take the lumps,
depends what sports. Talking my wins and the losses, I'm talking about just running their programs in the Big Ten, you know, I mean, they'll be fine for basketball and football, right those teams Charter they fly, they
go wherever they go, and it's easy. But the other's time about all the other sports that are gonna have to travel like that, and how that's gonna work, and whether or not that you know, if after a couple of years that athletes are gonna, you know, in those sports are gonna want to keep going there as opposed to plane and you know for schools closer to home or whatever. You know, I don't know. I just don't know how they are the travel is going to meet up, work with the
school responsibilities and all this stuff that goes that goes with that. Yeah, I don't know that that's gonna fly. Yeah, well that's not your problem, son, It is not. It is not. And I'm rooting for them to have a horrible time because I'm just that kind of a bitter guy exactly. That's why I know you I did not touch the games. I keep telling you that I did not touch the game. No, No, you know he's not telling he's the truth. Hey, here's the fun.
Here's the fun. Uh Draft Kings. Uh bet that's been boosted by DraftKings. And I don't know why I'm plugging them because they paid us in a while. But anyway, because we've gotta keep them, keep Lebron and Steph. Go ahead, to combine for sixty or more. Points. Oh, it's over over that's boosted to plus one forty over. I don't know. I don't think so. I mean, why don't you think so? Because it's like both teams are, like I have decent defenses. It's like if
it happens in game one. That's one thing I think if you told me that, if you ask me how many games in the series, they're gonna be the reason going to score like around thirty five is I'd say, like, you know, like a couple because like Lebron hasn't been scoring more than like thirty points. So what is it? One forty one plus one forty to go but combined over put twenty on it? You're TENA might tena. We'll go okay, I've just one forty get us twenty forty whatever? What's
that to look it up? About fifty five bucks to find into my account? We got a call. Get you off the degeneracy over there. You're on the air and I in the ball. Hey guys, let's it going George here? Hey George? Uh? One thing that I've been meaning to call about. But they were giving Dallas. They find Dallas for hanking to get a better ping pong ball in the draft. Well, if you don't want people to do that, you have to change the rule. Like you
you're not You shouldn't find people for having a rule. Like everybody takes advantage of a rule. Like there there's you can steal a base in baseball, you can, like there's a three point line. That's the rule. Like if you're gonna, if you're gonna give people a better chance at having a higher draft pick, you have to change the rule. But if they tank,
they get that that gets taken away from them. And then also in the show earlier than you, guys they were talking about are is Stephen Curry and Lebron Lebron James arrivals has more rings and he's beaten Lebron fifteen to seven. I think it is head to head. Yeah, So I mean that's a legit rivalry, right, I call it. I mean it's seven and seven without kd seven seven without Kiddy, which is but yeah, I mean that I think anyone can come Lebron. I like it. I like that.
I like that thought. I think that is legit because you know, I mean, who who are the top two players in the League right now, right from a fan standpoint, probably those two guys, right. I know you have Joel Embiid, you've got Jannis, you've got KD. But ask the average fan, not somebody who like you know, reads the you know, the the analytics and all that stuff every day. An average fan, like you know, sort of a side fan like me or Steve or
somebody. And you're gonna say Lebron and you're Lebron and Steph are the two guys that kind of drug? Get your attention? Right? My kids to know Lebron and Steth and they're girls. They do not know Jannis or Joker. I don't know, they don't know those people. They don't know them. They just don't know them. So I think that's really legit. Anyways, good stuff, Thank you, appreciate it. Colin Moore, So you can save us later, all right, Steve, we're down. We're down.
So what's the plenty bucks the path forty eight dollars? Okay, so we'll get a little half twenty four bucks to fourteen puppet Yeah, fourteen dollars profit? I think So do you are? You like it? I like it? I like it. This is fun. Yeah, it's a. It's a fun bat you know, ten bucks, right, and it's like, okay, now I'm not living or dying with whoever wins the game. It's like, just score some points. Scores some point, points some point.
I'll get pissed off when you know, Steph goes to the bench for a breathing I'm gonna get back in twenty nine, twenty nine points and twenty nine points we were down with. What they can't have is Clay going four for a thousand in a game. So to add the points because he had a horrible seven game. Yea horribles heat up early sixteen at thirteen. Yeah, that starts thirty dollars started. Oh the Lakers game. Umm, I think it was a seven thirty uh seven h five? Okay, all right,
man, I'll be go home, have some dinner. I've got some work to do to night. But I'll be able to put that game on and just track the points. Okay, sixty sixty plus six over sixty over sixty sixty were sixty plus Let's see what does that mean? Is that over sixty or can it be sixty and over? Yeah? I don't know. Everybody's sixty and a half sixty plus sixty plus means I mean sixty one. Well we'll find out. If we hit sixty and don't win, we'll be
really upset, really upset. All right, So we're good on that little odds boosts there plus one forty on that. I like it. You still don't think so right now? Are he's shaking his head? Don't he's already want one for one and his little He doesn't know anything. You're gonna change you to kiss of death. Don't want you don't want to take that over. I don't. I don't. I don't like to think that I have that much power. But I guess so some of us do, would some
of us do? I again, that was not my fault to Dave last night. You can't make me not think that. It is not my fault, not my fault. All right, So there we go. So we're looking for sixty sixty plus points. Um, who do you think of mbad is the MVP? Then little guy over there? No, what do you what do you think of him? No? MBA is the MVP. That's what he should have won, like you should should have won it. It shouldn't have been your kids should I was, I was thinking maybe honest because
how the season ended and ended with the best record league. But like in these individual performances and he plays both sides of the floor, and he's like quite literally unstoppable, and like he was generally healthy for the whole season. He deserves it. You know, he's been running up like a couple of years. Rows Yeah, what do you do you like his game? Or what do you like about his game? Because I I mean, he's not KD, but he's not He's also not DeAndre eight. He has a very
good like post game and he can fade away too. Like it's not like he'll just try to drive to the basket if you if you're like genuinely stopping him from getting to the basket, he can just turn and shoot or like pass out. You know, if you supported by like a competent team around him, then like he can play. You gonna get averages thirty plus points a game, like fifteen rebounds, Like that's that's how he is. Do you think he stays with the Sixers his whole career or would you like him
to see him go? I don't it's hard to tell us him now. I think first person out the Sixers is gonna be Doc. But it's like, at the same time, if it ever gets bad, like you know, Harden's aging or whatever, stuff like that, and let's say they still have Doc rivers, like they're gonna they're gonna want to trade him just because he gets so much out of it if they know they're not gonnable like win with a lot of young players around him. I don't think he's gonna leave
anytime soon. But the NBA has been so unpredictable that like, if you told me five years from now he's on like like the Hornets or something like just some crazy like I wouldn't be too surprised, just because it's how things happen. Yeah, all right, oh morning, say oh, here's one. And I know they've not I've not seen anything that says specifically what was happening. Did you see that that in Ohio? The casinos in Ohio stopped
taking bets on an Alabama baseball game yesterday and it was really weird. They said there was some suspicious activity. Oh, it was on Friday, excuse me, a suspicious activity during an eight to six loss to LSU on Friday. There's Alabama and everybody's still trying to figure out what was the suspicious activity. But it was just in Ohio, so it wasn't anybody else. But
they stopped taking bets on those games in baseball and basebook college. First of all, what kind of a degenerate are you if you're betting on college baseball. I'm not gonna say anything about college baseball. We talked about the last week with Pink Pug and uh cornhole cornhole yeah, um, But at one point a SU was up, was up eight to one, and then the game got close and they stopped taking bets h and Elise uh, elisee. You ended up winning the game eight to six. But I don't know what
the over under was or what it was. But they said also there was some suspicious way dream activity uh in Ohio and they shut it down. That was the way they you know, the ASU thing happened and all those things. You know, it's all done by column analytics or whatever. They see betting trends and stuff like that and stuff gets flagged. But a college baseball game interesting, Yeah, that would be unless the picture has something to do with it, because it kind of controls them. How do you shave?
Yeah, I mean how do you shave points a pure walk a bunch of batters? Yeah, I mean the pictures are the only one who can probably do that again. Yeah, okay, well, good show kind of today. We had very only one game we got you know, hey, we got we got through it, and we we gotta figure out the summer stuff because the summer starts, we'll have to have some more guests. Yeah, repeat guests, and yeah, we'd love to you know, we'd love to
hear your thoughts. You know, you can go to our Twitter, our Twitter page and my email address for iHeart email addresses there you want to send us some emails, make comments to us on Twitter. If you have an ideas for guests, let us know. Trun Down, who would you want to hear from? Absolutely mum Down, because summer can be a slog but well you know where I was looking ahead. You're trying to figure things out.
You never know. That's well, when we started the show three years ago, um, we had access to can pandemic people because they weren't working. Nobody was working. We had all kinds of great guests because they weren't working. All right, Okay, okay, hey, thanks for being here today. Steve Happy anniversary, cappy anniversary, no happy birthday. Don't cry because they didn't send you anything. Yeah, well they don't. All right, we'll talk to you tomorrow.
