Steve Bravera and Jake and Salez. They have their Eye on the Ball on Tucson Sports Big Yet Fox Sports fourteen fifty streaming live. I mean, I heeart radio wam hey, welcome back to our the ball, you know, Fox Sports fourteen fifty on Steve, he's Jay got to eat with us and now we have Jay with breaking news. This is Eye on the Ball Breaking news on Fox Sports fourteen fifty. All right, well, I mean, you know, go ahead and say it. This is just really ugly stuff,

Steve. Ugly stuff coming out of out of Las Vegas where Chance Comanche has been charged with a murder with a nineteen year old woman named Sakari Harndon.

Now we're we're finding out that. And as I not that I know a lot of things, but when I read stuff from police reports, I still have an understanding of it. Seemed to me that from the interview with with the Chance Commanchee after they arrested him, that's how they determined that this woman had in fact been murdered and that they had Well, it comes out today now that Comanche in uh when he's being interrogated by homicide detectives, he

did he told people that he did in fact kill this woman with with the nineteen year old woman that they strangled her and then dump trebody in the ditch, strangled her with an HDMI cord. Uh. The woman helped choke her with her hands and they and they dropped her in the ditch in in Henderson, which is that uh you know community right outside of Vegas. Yeah right, how are you slim in that area? And it's all developed now, it's not like Vegas of old time. Yeah, yeah, Anderson is a

is a bustling, bustling area. So he is apparently, you know, admitted to having done this, you know. And and Steve, I you know, I know, I know, I make a lot of jokes watching Dateline, and you know, sure all these murders and things, and you watch those things, and they're still so far, you know, a distance from us, right, but you know, I mean we watched this kid,

you know, play a couple years of basketball talent. Yeah, you come to Arizona, and and it's because somebody thinks highly of you, right, and and you see these kids, and you know, not all of them go on to great things, but most of them are decent kids that go do decent things, whether it's in basketball or doing something else. Right. You see, you got like Matt Mulebach. You know it was a successful lawyer here in Tucson. You know, Corey Williams, you a successful

businessman here in Tucson. You know, had a had a had a good you know overseas basketball career. Blair coach has like that. Who didn't you know, they didn't have that much of a day in the NBA, but they still used what they did here to make themselves successful. And you see a like chance to commands you go in this direction. Yeah, it's just what would what would lead you to do this? That's the thing that sticks

to me. It's like at that moment that he wraps his cord around her neck, Well, why did he think that was the thing we'll do at that moment? Well, it's the priest and the right They planned. It was a planned thing. You and I both watched Daylight pretty religiously, which is sad, but we see this since why would why why are you thinking this? I mean, what what draws you? How do you think this

is going to make your life? Better? Right? Right? Whatever issues I've got in my life, this is what I need to do to make it, to make it better, which is That's what I've never understood on so much, so much of this twenty seven years old to with not an NBA career, but a nice life. He's been playing basketball since he left right right, So very sad, very tragic, tragic for the for the victim. There is a go fundme page or her name is Marina Rogers m

A r A y n A Rogers. If you uh you know, you know, as an Arizona fan feel compelled to go uh a contribute on her GoFundMe page. I believe she's got a couple of kids or a daughter, so there you go. I mean, just one of the most tragic things that I think has ever come out of a out of out of the Chale Center. So very awful. All right, let's move on, uh as we're getting to a signing day tomorrow, a lot of portal action. USC

is just taking a beating in the portal. Ari Washerman. Washerman posted a tweet that shows that USC in the last week or so is lost three five star and two four star recruits. Recruits not recruits that were at USC.

Guys, we're at USC who jumped into the transfer portal, but three five stars and two four stars, including that quarterback Malachi Nelson who was the all everything, number one quarterback in the country that remember had been he'd committed to Oklahoma with Lincoln Riley, and then when Lincoln Riley took the job at USC,

followed Lincoln Riley to USC. And now he's jumped into the into the into the transfer port Domanie Jackson, another cornerback, five star cornerback, and then a defensive end, Corey Free, Corey Foreman, with a couple of another linebacker and running back. So just you guys spilling out of out of the USC getting to that conversation that you and I were having about what's the family atmosphere you know over at USC that sure the Arizona guy's talking about here

all the time. Sure, No. And the thing about it you don't know until you know, because you think it's it's USC and Lincoln Riley and all listen, it's to get there and oh what did I get myself into? You know? And then there's you know, as as always, there's all kinds of discussion, you know when these go out on social media. So some guy coming to coming on to social media to try and defend h Lincoln Riley saying, well, you know, USC didn't want these guys anyways,

they weren't any good. So then somebody said, Okay, then if they weren't any good, why did Lincoln Riley go get them? So either he was bad here or he was bad here. In either case, Lincoln Riley and his staff have done a poor job with these guys. Whether these guys they couldn't keep these guys or if they really weren't that good, but yet you know they coveted them and got them in. So well, either the recruiting is bad or the coaching is bad, one of the two,

all right. Staying on the college side, Lane Kiffin got a contract extension over at Mississippi. No no terms announced, that just said that they've given him a contract contract extension. He's he's been at Mississippi for four years. He's got a couple of ten win seasons, they're twenty one and two at

home during the time that he's, uh, he's been there. So we'll probably hear more about the contract, but I'm guessing it that's probably up in the eight nine million dollar rage because that's that's what the SEC tends to pay their coaches. All right, Steve, this was for you. Oh okay, for you who don't believe you, just believe you just you give crap to all the bowl games. Oh, I don't I do what it is?

I don't you get the right Steve. I'm pretty sure I'm going Do you think there's too haven't you said there's too many bowl games and nobody cares about him? No, No, but that's true. I haven't said, well that's not that's not true. Okay, because what what wait? Wait? Wait, No, there's too many bowl games. No that it's not true that nobody cares about Oh no, I think people care about They do

care about it. No, but there's a lot of there's thirty six, thirty eight, forty how many other I think there's No, I think there's forty something. Oh god, it's eighty some teams. Yeah, you get a trophy, You get a trophy, you get a bowl game. Anyways, A Stewart Mandell reporting that the LA Bowl one of the lower level balls.

It was and it was u c l A. Boise State had basically the identity TV audience to the North Carolina Kentucky basketball game that was on CBS, so the same number of people watched the people cared, so people do care people. And the Celebration Bowl, which is that HBCU Bowl game between what I think it was, who was it? It was Florida A and M and somebody. I can't remember who it was that that Actually there were more people watching that game than the Kansas Indiana basketball. Wow. The noose

A big game. Yeah. I went to the New Mexico Bols as many people know. That place was packed. Of course, people needed to get at a Las Crucis. Yeah, like they did when they drive up the road. Man, thirty one thousand people packed on one side on the other side as well. Yeah, so a lot of people went to see a

not so good game. Yeah. Yeah. You know you talked about Michael lev who you know, Johnny on the Spot reporting from the press conference today with some of you have a football players that tweeted out a little bit ago them Michael Wiley, who was like in his eighth year at Arizona, he decided he's gonna play in the Alimabile. He's not opting out. He's gonna stick with it, go play one more game, and then again he didn't play a whole lot this year. Yeah, he was. He was injured

a bunch and you know, Sharon time and stuff like that. But Michael Wiley will be in the lineup for Arizona in the Alimibile, which bodes well. Again, just a testament to what a good kid that guy is, right, Yeah, always not a kid any where. He's like thirty five years old. Yeah, and Oklahoma has lost a lot of lost bunch. I have it right here, the the the opt outs for all the games.

But I was looking at the at the Alimobowle. You've got eight guys in the transfer portal, including their starting quarterback Dylan Gabriel, a couple of offensive tackles and I don't know if these guys are starters or whatever, a couple of offensive tackles, running back Towee Walker, a cornerback, they're tight end Jason Lewell and who is a good player. But they've got eight people, eight players jumped into the portal. Arizona's got two Canyon Moses, a

cornerback group didn't obviously didn't play much. And then Isaiah Taylor, I think we've all heard of, but you know, I wasn't one of the top players. So those are the only two Arizona players according to according to this website that that track, I think it's on three that show sports betting. That's so so according to you, uh, given your history from last week, uh and your theories of picking teams, you would take Arizona. I

am given you know what I'm gonna take Arizona. Was telling everybody right now, I'm taking Arizona. I laid off of them all year. They got their nine and three season because I laid off of them. I'm freaking taking them. You can't stop me. No, I don't really. But you know the reason you took who'd you take? The team to give up in the final? Because everyone was leaving, Ohio, who's that? Yeah? And you said killed the guilt and they killed. But nobody told me that.

Nobody from their one of the top rated defenses in the country. Nobody from the defense left, so they didn't need to score that many points to win that game. I mean I turned it on and they're like, like, up seventeen or nothing. I'm like, what am I doing? What am I doing? You're the guy with too much information? Believe it a little more of this one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eighteen eleven, twelve Ohio State players in the portal. Yeah,

I'm not playing in the Cotton Bowl. And then people in the Orange Bowl are jumping. Yeah, let me find the Orange Yeah, the Orange Bowl. Georgia's lost five guys and Florida State lost to another guy, to one of their one of their defensive stars today, so they've lost not eight guys now, yeah, well people are jumping. We were stablished stars. Go to Justin Spears up Twitter. He had something that Wiley had said, have you seen really read him yet? Now? Quote? You can?

You can say some of the quote, not all of it though. Oh yeah, about his first his first year at Arizona, he called it a blank show. Yeah I did see, which, which of course is pretty accurate. Yeah, yeah, no, we've sure you've heard pepd Nolan gave a crap and then you know how much we know just check out the issue game where they were just staying able to do Yeah yeah, well yeah, and that was that was that was awful. But you know he's got he's

got on video of Michael Wie's got a big smile on his face. You know, he's one of those guys that just I'm just glad it finished this way because it was it was, it was so bad. He's gonna have an opportunity. He's one of those guys like Gary Bright Well, right, he's gonna be a blue collar guy. He's gonna go do the work. He'll land somewhere, he'll play somewhere because he's got physical talent, but he brings all those other things. The TJ. McConnell kind of sure, sure,

did you no question? You guys said, how is he gonna make it? Any? Ends up making it? Did you see Haaber? Have you read Harvier's tweets the Stanley the berry Hill family? Yes, the barr Hill fan movie to Vegas? I guess I did not Vegas feb So that they can go up there and you know, play with the big boys up there. Maybe the big boys would get some more recognition, right, do very well? Obviously a very good strung scol family. Yeah, yeah, so no, yeah, no, I did I see you say, did

you see Hobbin? I know I saw that, but I forgot there was hob who goes that? Yeah, I saw, I'm kind of catching stuff a couple more things. Let me see, Well you know, I was looking at Evan Mike Cows conference rankings and the PAC twelve was ranked six among you know, all the other four Power fives and the Big East were all

ahead of Arizona in the conference rankings. And then you see that right that the in the AP rankings this week, Arizona is the only only ranked team from the Pac twelve, whereas the Big Twelve's got where Arizona's head had six teams ranked in the top twenty five Kansas, Houston, Oklahoma, Baylor, buy U in Texas. That's the conference that Arizona's headed for. You know what, I think those guys would much try to play there than what they

see weekend and week out. Sure what you think? Yeah, of course I do. I think that. All right, that's all we have. We're gonna have George Minus coming in. George, how are you good? Good? Good? What's up? Guys? Mary? Christmas? Merry Christmas. You must have your tectus in the at the office. They're decorated Lida exactly. We got a Christmas tree and the Texas is well live up and we had Sanna in there on Saturday. Were doing some fund raising for

local high school. So it was fun, all right. So is Christmas season a thing in the card trading business? You know? Do people buy cards and give them as gifts and things like that? One would think, like, that's kind of the perceived one would think in terms of volume, Yes, it's high, but we're selling a lot of lows and mid items, so it's sticking stuffers or about the cards that it's a smaller like a mini box, which school, you know, a thirty five more minibox.

But our season starts after the new year, from January January two to actually, you know, I take that back after Christmas December twenty fifth through May we really cook, you know, because then people are like, now I good bye, you know. You know, the dads could be like, we could spend five hundred dollars on that box I wanted to do, you know, and they're they kind of you know, want a DAMNB line.

Okay, all right, you know maybe some people spending their graduation money or what No, yes, no, yeah, a little bit, a little bit of Christmas money more, you know, Holliday money for sure. How's your world just trendy? I mean not trendy, but how has it trended? Maybe ten years? Five years to now? The last five years have been amazing. We've been in business twenty five years. The last five years have certain passed the twenty years combined, the first twenty years combined. So

it is it is cyffical. I mean, it goes with the economy and it goes up and down. So but we've been blessed and it's been a nice run and hopefully it stays that way. Okay, so you men, you're mentioning, you know, if somebody wants to give a gift from from your place, you know, what what are your thoughts on some of that? You what do you think people should come in looking for? They may say I want to give for my son, who I know collects cards.

What would you recommend that they get? Baseball cards are the big thing. You know, when people think of sports cards, they kind of like a baseball cards, so tops you know, and then when you think of baseball cards, you take a top, so then you go to tops. You know, baseball card packs are the best stocking stuffers. All kids love that, you know, any type of collectible cards, you know, whether it's baseball cards or gaming cards like Pokemon, you know, they just kind of

want Those are great for in the stockings. But I was out this morning and I took Mom. She wanted to go shopping, and we actually throve all the way to Maranda to the outlet that was a zoo, you know, and I was like, I should have just shopped at my own store. You know, you just park right there at the convenience and cleaning down to the store. You got four employees waiting to help you. And it's just a convenience. It's is way better than you know, trying to find

parking at the mall. That's why Mom needs to go shopping earlier exact due Well, you think that just be we receiving your gifts. Do you think that? Actually I did go to park Place last night. I had to pick up a gift. It took me twice as long as the park as it took me to go in and get what it needed to come right back

out. It was crazy. It's crazy. Nos Yeah yeah, okay, So okay, now a Dodger, what does that ever have any impact on you know, I mean his rookie Carter still his rookie Carter, whatever, whatever cards that are out there from him, any change in value when he changes teams or Now, how does that tell tell us? How that the market reflects the cards? So if he I heard some talks runner that I don't know if you guys were watching it, but the day prior that he

signed to the Dodgers, they were talking about that. They followed a plane and it was going to Toronto and he's gonna sign with the Blue Jays and people were like, that's it. His value sucks. You know, he's in Toronto, he's in Canada's kind of lost and stuff. Then he signs with the Dodgers. All of a sudden it turns, It makes a sharp turn. It goes up thirty percent. So yes, the market, the market count you know, La Dodgers, New York Yankees, Chicago Cubs rather

than playing for the Miami Marlins or Toronto Blue Jays. Market makes a big difference. So we know his his value. Who's the second and third next best I mean the young players are pretty excited, you know, the exciting young players like a Kunya is great. You know, he was the other MVP. That's great. Mild He's just so quiet, but people still collected in our collecting business, they still want him. Aaron Judge a couple of years ago, he had the home run, right, you know, he

was just flying up and charged those type of players. Otani by far out sells everyone, just like in the vintage out of our category, Mickey Mantles out sells everybody ten to one. Wow. Okay, all right, So I'm a Dodger fan. I want to show hey card. When will he When will he start showing up in a Dodger jersey on baseball cards? So Tops has this program it's called tops now where they make instinct cards, like every day they might post a card. He already has some wearing the TOPS

hat. But the real TOPS cards are going to be coming and we're hoping early February. Okay, And what will one like TOPS card out of the first lot of cards go for the lower end, Like the first ones are going to be twenty dollars and they could range up to I mean, obviously if it's a signed card, it's one thousand dollars. Sure they could range, you know, twenty dollars to a short printed card it's one hundred dollars. So let me ask you a dumb question. You've been in the business

a long time. What do you do? You you buy and sell right even personally every single day? Personally? What this is like the stock market? We all know that, right, you know? When when do you know? When do you know when to sell or buy? I mean, you just try to like nobody even knows in the stock market or the real estate market. You know, it's a true breathing market. Nobody really knows.

So you try to do your best estimated guests, and with these cards, most of the time it goes up based on player performance, just like a stock goes up based on the company performance. Amazon does well, They're going to go up. Botany does well, he's going to go up. You just try to gauge it. Right now, football cards are really low, you know, especially some of these quarterbacks. All these quarterback injuries. I mean, I think it's a record for quarterback injuries. They're in the

dirt. I mean a few years ago, some cards were selling upwards of twelve thousand. Na he's sold listings three hundred and fifty dollars. I'm thinking it's time to buy that. But you sell when it's really high, when Otani's had his peek, you actually do sell. Although your heart tells you not to know it's going to keep going, isn't But you actually do. You know, Man, that's I mean, that's gotta be nerve wracking too. I mean, do you get nervous about that? No, not anymore.

I used to. I used to, but it's so many years in this Yeah I don't. But I mean he has all his great cards in some bank vault like Switzerland or something. Right, No, seriously, but you know it's again fascinating market. Like you said, you know, you feel like you hear so much more about it. And you know people parked outside of a Target to run in and grab the boxes. That are you know they're gonna you know, hit the shelves at that. I mean,

that's still a thing right now. Okay, I'm glad it did, because that was just taking it beyond. You know, people are fighting over cards, and they even Target to quit selling cards for a while because I think someone pulled a gun in the parking lot, so that that's far and beyond, you know, the cards. The bottom line, it's it's about like being them, the happiness it brings you in. And Jay and I are actually in a business club together and we had a Christmas party a couple of

weeks ago. One of the wives asked me, like, what do you do, George? And I was like, we like sports cards and collectible She's like cars, Like what like baseball cards. I was like, hey, exactly like baseball cards. He's like, why baseball cards? And I was like, it's kind of you know, like there's a lot of reasons. You know. I was like, do you collect fine art? She's like no, But I was like, it's our fine art. You know. We really enjoyed that picture card that the nostalgia it brings back, like

I remember when I was a kid. Oh it was wonderful. I had that card that can grigby Junior car. But it's just a sportsman fine art. You know. I thought you were going to say one of these great stories, George, what do you do for living? Know? Why to click cards? And you know, baseball cards? Oh Mehito, you need to grow up. My mother fro what are you going to you went to college, when are you going to get a real So, so you tell me more, let me give this here, yes, please don't make me

leave you at the outlet, ma Mamo. So let me ask you. You have the cards, obviously, but give me a couple of good items in your place that aren't cards. That aren't cards, as far as we have a lot of memorabilia, I mean you purchased. I'm a Raiders fan. So there's a DeVante Adams signed jersey and they're hanging uh there. That's a good question. You got me on that one. Well you have parily. We are a sports card shop, but we do sell a lot of

autographic memorability. Do you have Mather and you have a guy named Kerr and oh yeah, all the Arizona guys for sure. And a book or two of mine still I think, yes, yeah, one book, so you got to read one over there? One signed, and then that's worth more. That's not signed. That's that's pretty much. That's pretty much Bob Celler

eight. Yeah, I think the the unsigned ones they're worth more. Sign so many I have a question maybe for the average fan out there, because look, I've got two jerseys hanging in my closet, you know, in covered in plastic, but one signed by Luis Gonzalez, one signed by Randy Johnson. You know, I got I got those jerseys and I got them signed, and they're they're just signatures. Uh, you know, any value to those at all? For for anybody? Yeah, of course, sorts

of value. Randy Johnson's Randy Johnson, Luisan's always hit the game winning hit in the World Series over Derek Jeter. There is value and people want that stuff. Is it value? Like show hey Hani, No, No, because that's just yeah, everybody, everybody's in the moment now. They just want like who's the next guy, Who's Like how many times have they said who's the next short? And who's you know, it's everyone speculating on the next brother and like focusing, Like god, he was awesome. He was

really good. Yeah. Like, we've got in here in our studio and I brought this in because it was my sister's she had in order to put it. There's a Joe Montana signed jersey sitting here framed in our well. You've seen it, right, I have? Yeah, you know, what do you make of something like that? I know, my sister would never get rid of it. But you know, how does somebody know that that

was actually signed? So one there's third party authenticators that could, you know, you could send it off and they could analyze the signature and the slant and the press and the stroke and they could, you know, let you know if it's real or not, and then they they'll tie it. Okay, yeah, I think yours was? Was it authenticated? Yeah, it's got a little sticker on it now that I look at it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's authentic. And there's something like that actually even goes

up more when the current team wins. So if the forty nine ers win the Super Bowl this year, that'll actually have more value because it also takes them back to the glory years. And like with Arizona memorabilia, you know, if our team does really well this year, I saw a lot more of glory or Arizona rebellious stuff. I'm gonna have to tell Lane that we dropped it and broke it. I think it's gone and somebody stole it. George shop for sale, George Spider. Once he came in here, he

for the next fifteen minutes? We have some good Yeah, you know, we we went ahead and captured the first couple of minutes of Tommy's press conference talking about the Alabama game coming up, a couple other things. Steve got a question in there, so let's just play. It's about a two and a half minute clip to beginning of the press conference includes the question, So it'll just give you an idea of this from the very top of the press

conference. What was the first time you've had film from a loss to look at? I mean, do you look at it differently lost games before? Oh? Okay, okay, okay, thanks look at it differently? No, I mean, you just I mean, everything's a learning opportunity, and you know, we played a really good team that played really well, and you know, we obviously made some mistakes, you know, areas we wish

we could have done things a little bit better. But I think that's every game, so you know, we're we're not going to make too much of it. And you know, I mean, it doesn't feel good. And we're a program with high expectations and high standards, so you know, losses are always tough. But but we'll be all right. Last year and even the year before, it seemed like this team always, your team's responded well

to a loss and use that feedback you expect. I mean, you know, with the jury's out, we're gonna find out tomorrow night, you know, I hope. So, I mean, these guys, no one's been hanging their head. We've we've you know, practiced as normal and operated it just like we would any other time of the year. So no, I'm excited. We got a great opportunity tomorrow to play a great team. I

think it's gonna be a really exciting game. Watching the Tike today, anything in particular standout, Yeah, I mean, you know, I mean, like I said at the presser, you know, I mean it's I don't know if it's a big thing or not, but you know, maybe you should have called a time out. You know, when that first half, at the start of the game, when you know this there was no dead ball, you know, you usually count on that dead ball to give you

your first media timeout. But the game went almost over seven close to eight minutes without one. And you know, I thought we were playing well, and then I felt like we got a little bit tired, and I think we had three turnovers in a row. You probably could chalk up to a little bit of just fatigue. And you know, maybe I could have did a bit o job there the soapbop. Well back the three games that'll be haer. What did you think going in back in the day when we cover

loop He did this all the time. Play good teams, to see where you're at. Oh for sure. I mean we want to see where we're at. And by no means do we feel like we're a finished product or you know, we obviously we're not invincible, so we want to go out and test ourselves. And and you know, the these December schedules kind of stack up like this sometimes. You know, you get a couple of these

Saturdays and in December where you can play some Marquee games. You know, I mean they're the you know, TV wants it, and you know, it seems like people are more willing to schedule these this time of year. They've tested their team a little bit in November, got through their mt they want to play a couple of tough games in December before they get to conference, so it just kind of plays out that way. And you know, and if you throw a tough game in midweek, well then you're probably gonna

end up with three, three or four tough games in a row. And that's where we're at. So I mean, I'm excited for the opportunity. I'm glad we get an opportunity to play Wednesday, and I know it's going to be an incredible challenge. Talk about how game Saturday came together with Fox and everything, but this game on Wednesday was a let's start off with you

and Natos or was that? I think it was just connections on our staff, you know, I mean just you know, we got connected, and I don't know if there was an intermediary or something that kind of put us together, but I think both teams were looking for, you know, another Marquee game and we got to you know, we're returning this game to Birmingham next year, so kind of a neutral, neutral type concept. So yeah,

nothing crazier than that. So Jay, one of the reasons I asked that question, and now I just lost my train of thought but you know, you can get to establish something. Evan said that the best the biggest one this year involved there was oh right, yeah, the best win because it was on the road neutral sign. So let's see how long that lasts. And I say this for a reason, I didn't want to bring this up to him because I'm sure he's tired of comparing this program to the the

Zegon program. Because this is what they had to do given that there were such a powerhouse in their league and everyone is not going to gain anything from playing in the league. They have to do well here to continue to establish themselves as a one or a two. Right. It's like it's like, yes, it's like they got to build up points, right, right, You've got to score a lot of points in that first quarter exactly because they're

not going to have opportunities to score in the second quarter exactly. And the worst thing that can happen you can lose in your league, and that'll be a huge knock, right because you haven't played anybody. Yeah, so that's what these are important. These are important games, and I think you're right here. I think they are magnified because of of what's coming up in depends

one in the PAC twelve. You know, they're not going to be able to pile up you know, ratings, points or whatever you want to call just you know, uh, you know in the in the next in the second half of the season, right, you know, every every game is the season, and every season is a game where they need these these victories.

I think with the way the PAC twelve has developed and what we're seeing now, these these next couple of games have become much more more important than maybe we thought, you know, we thought it was nice they were gonna play them. You play the game, see what happens, right, but now you feel like, you know, they kind of need to win these games, right, you know, question to have that, to have that

on that side of the ledger. You know when when March rolls around and they're they're doing you know, tournament seeds, and they're you know, you know, uh with what there's twenty game, they're eighteen and two in the PAC twelve, and they you know, and they lost to two teams they shouldn't lost to. I mean, it's gonna be it's look, it's gonna be hard, if maybe even impossible, to go undefeated in the PAC twelve. Because somebody's gonna jump up and bite you. But you know the wins

are gonna be piling up. Aren't gonna do much for you? Yeah, no questions before the are you liking this to the football season in as much as we didn't know what they were? Right? And you look at the schedule and everybody does it, well they can win here when here they can go five and six or five and seven, six and six or whatever. And now after the Duke win, you say, hmmmm, well they could

go undefeated, defeated undefeated. You look at the schedule ahead of time, ahead of time because I think it means before the season in basketball, you're thinking, okay, maybe they can get through these couple of games, win you know, two of four. Right now it's like maybe we could win four of four, and now you're hoping to win three of four as we grow forward, right, And then you had the Duke of Michigan State game at that you know what, they know they had six games on the schedule.

You thought that's six really hard games, right, you know, and then all of a sudden they win the first two, then they win another one, and we're like, okay, wait a minute. You know, what the hell's going on here? And then they lose for doing You're going okay, you know, but I think though, it's what it does is this kind of puts water on the on the campfire and simmers egos. Not here with the fans, nothing players. Yeah, no, absolutely take this call. Hi, R on there and I on the ball. Hey,

guys, how you doing? That's the power coward, Howard You're not coming? Go ahead? George. George is such a personal guy. That's why when I first met him, that's I loved about him, you know, as we can tell. I mean, he puts everything positive light where I always said, you're Gonzales or the Gonzalez jersey is only worth a fourth of what Randy Johnson's is. Yeah, but I have both, you know.

You know I've had that, you know, I've had those since two thousand and two because I got they were signed in the spring after the World Series Championship, you know, and they just sitting in the back of my closet. I've not framed him, I've not done anything when they're just sitting there. In fact, I forgot about him until you guys are playing the thing in the background. Who you have? We don't hear anything. You're playing it. Oh, yeah, you're playing the but I don't hear any other

radio. Do you have the radio one? No, my my radio is on about one hundred feet away from me. Yeah, we don't don't don't hear anything. We don't hear that. It's anyway anyway anyway. So when I used to do card shows, i'd do him from November to May. So those are the good times. And here's another good way to look at it. All the snowbirds are in town. So there's always going to be more money in town when the snowbirds are here spending it all around. Yeah,

a good point. Yeah yeah, Wait, what did you get out of the business or did you get it? No? I started collecting when I was a kid. No, no, But why did you get out of the business. Oh? I still got stuff. Like I said, I did one of my biggest sales during China excuse me, during the lockdown. That's when it opened up the last three years. Okay, it was a perfect time to do it. And you know the one guy, a teacher in Veil, he bought six, like I said, six seven thousand

dollars worth, and I sold some Jordan's the other day. And anyway, for the game tomorrow, what's the spread about seven and a half or six and a half, six and a half, six and a half over Runners one seventy four. Yeah, I just get seven and a half. Well, of course, I think I can confirm. I'm glad I didn't open my mouth in the Purdue game. Yeah, okay, we didn't play. There's a six foot ten bollow. Yeah, he looked like a little dwarf

compared to him. My daughter made a comment when they were introducing Uh yeah, Eadie. She goes, that guy's legs are so much bigger than everyone I know, because the guy's a giant literally literally. Yeah, we'll see what happens. The man's a good game. Yeah, we'll see you Howard, yep, your voices. You know, I wouldn't. I wouldn't have the stomach for that. And I don't know why, as you say, it's not it's really not any different than the stock market, you know,

and I you know, I've dabbled in that a few times. I just wouldn't. You don't have the stomach for that. It's like we've got no one to hold. You gotta know when to pull him exactly exactly, and I'm not very good at that. What we're talking about, we're talking about Tommy, just the importance of winning some more, winning these games that that that it's because a loss is a bad loss. A loss is a bad

loss. Any loss of the pack is gonna be a bad And that's when I met Yeah, any loss in the Pac twelve is not gonna be a good loss. I mean, you go to U C L A P. Because he still should still win that game right in U s C. Yeah, we'll see in the circumstances, anybody injured whatever, oh YadA YadA. But well we'll get there when we get there. Yeah, but there's a lot to like in the see there is there there, there really is.

Did you did you find it interesting about Pele the the the the numbers on pelt with Makawa, Oh, he's the like the key Well, you know when he explained that. When I saw it, I'm like, what the

hell? No, No, But then he explained it. And it's like when you you evaluate how they do when he's in the game, right, regardless of whether he scores or rebounds or whatever, when he's in the game, they're at their best, right, And that's the crazy he's playing well and that and that's what's the fascinating thing about what what Evan Mike Howa does.

It's funny. It's funny because we got a call from bick Y history right, giving you grief about about and you're and then the point that you made that Pelle they lost because the guy that is most valuable to them didn't show up, had a bad game, had a bad game, right, right, explain So I was out last night and and we got the victory. He called yesterday and everybody sucked, right, But I talked to somebody last night. He says the bench wasn't that good either they had two points

or whatever. Uh, they just that they were exposed. And I said, explain, well that Boswell didn't play well and Pellet didn't play well and the bench didn't score. It's something that happens sometimes you run up against it to him against them that does that exactly exactly. You're not gonna you're not gonna shine every time, right, they do that to you. That's what

they're there for. That's what there's to do. And when it's a good team, there's a better chance they're going to do that to you than when Princeton does it to you play Princeton ten times, nine times you're gonna beat them, because nine times they're not gonna play the way they played in that one game. You play Perdue ten times, maybe it's five and five or

six and four one way or the other. So you know, it's just that there's a better chance that they're gonna play the kind of game they need to play to beat you than say a Princeton does, or a Buffalo or somebody like that. Right, So yeah, I mean, you know, look, was I surprised that they got beat No? I wasn't. I

really was not. I mean, I you know, I think I would have been more surprised had they won another one, right the way, I kept getting surprised when Arizona Football kept winning and winning, and every game that they won was a game that I thought, Okay, now they're gonna lose the next one. No, you talked about that yesterday, and then they didn't. You know, this team the same thing, like I started getting God, you know, are they going to win another one? Are they

going to win another one? And then they lose and I go, okay, now you expect me to come out again Alabama and light them up, because you know, you expect them to be a little more fired up. You're closer to home. Uh, think more things that Alabama plays, the kind of game that they play, and and you think you'll like, you'd like to think that Arizona's better and that if they play the same game, that Arizona should win the game because they're better at it. There you go

into that gambling word. If if this happens, this happen, because you don't know, you don't know, you don't know, you know, I think that it'd be fun, should be fun. You're you're going up and people will be gone tomorrow because he's going to drive up to the game. Doesn't want to hang out here with me, and I don't want to get the traffic concrete jungle over there is crazy. So well, I'll I'll probably line up a a mystery guest host for us tomorrow and a couple of guests,

and we'll see what we come up with. But uh, and then again to repeat to everybody, we're going to be off on Friday. So Thursday is our last show of the year where Steve is back. We got we do our pic next week. Next week, we'll just do a post when we get it. All right, So, hey, good show tonight, your miss your misery is almost so blessed it almost is thanks having my con for being here. Thank you George Mina, our great sponsor from Showtime
