Steve Ravera and Jaden Somns. They have there I on the Ball on two Sons sports station, Fox Sports fourteen fifteen the welcome back to our on the bar here on Fox Sports fourteen. Tuty. I'm Steve, He's Jay, and Jay has some breaking news. I think we do. I thought we did. This is I on the Ball breaking news on Fox's fourteen fifty. All right, that was the computer being a little slow. Okay, that

wasn't my fault. I was punching the button I got supposed to. Okay, breaking news, all kinds of things like as we said in a lot of different directions. First of all, how many times did this season did we hear? Colin Boswell's only seventeen, only seventeen. He's only seventeen. He's only don't tell me he's changed his age. Eighteen years old today, Alan Boswell is eighteen. So he's illegal to do what now pretty much everything but drink. He can go. He I can't drink. You can go

buy himself a R fifteen if you want. I've tried. I can't help myself sometimes. But happy birthday to Colin Boswhile eighteen years old. Um, you know here at arizonas we'll see how long the future the future of the future for a year, two years. I think he's got to be better. I don't know. He's so nondescript, it's hard to say. You're right. He does everything very well, not flash yeah, right, and just solid t J McConn J McConnell. Right, But McConnell didn't go early,

so we'll see. I like him. I like how physical he is um and I like how I just like he doesn't He didn't seem to get rattled. Even from the beginning. You just didn't feel like he was ever rattled, you know. And the time went on, he just got more and more confidence. He got better and better. And I was I was watching the Pence of the Pen, the Prince game and games in the pecton

him, thinking, this guy's just so steady. Yeah, he's just so steady, does the right this makes the right decisions he does, and the kind of reported not so watch for Kurt. Hur's gonna be fine. He's gonna be fine. He's gonna be fine. While we're on the subject of Kurt Crease, who went to West Virginia another you have a basketball player at this time, a women's basketball player Lauren Fields, who entered the chests for portal. She's going to West Virginia. Oh well yeah, okay, so

that's that's two for one. Two players over there headed over there. See if there, if they're gonna be best buddies because they you know, shared you know, experience here. Um, okay, this thing with Draymond Green less night, I watched, I watched the clip where he I mean he kind of did stomp on on on Sabonis, but almost like he was trying to pull his foot away and he hit him in the chest. Then I don't know. Anyways, they're saying he's not gonna get suspended. There has

been an announcement. Um, but you know, I think if it wasn't Draymond Green, he probably wouldn't be got in trouble. I was gonna mention that if you didn't. Yeah, I think he's kind of his reputation has preceded himself. Let's assume for a second, you we're there in real time and some dude kind of falls for your fall down, you kind of grab whatever. I don't blame simonus because you don't know when your real life what you would do here's this foot run top of you. What are you gonna

do? Throw it away or grab it or whatever. He grabbed it and it was a better bag. And even for Draymond, I mean, what are you gonna move your foot right where you're trying to get out of there, trying to go run down the court because the ball is headed down the court. Right, This happens to Dennis Rodman, it happens. If it hasn't Draymond Green, it happens Bill and Beer. Right, there's certain people that are just kind of you can't avoid if you can't avoid that. But

I I, you know, I don't know. I don't like Draymond Green. I don't like his I don't like his acting chick. You know, he punched his own teammate at the beginning. I agree anything, I agree, I agree, And I'm a warrior trying to know this. Uh, I think they're better off without him. Last night not so much. But but last night was a struggle for them. So yeah, yeah, anyways, but some you know, a lot of there was a lot of speculation

that he was going to be suspended. Now the speculation is that he's not, So we'll see what happens there with Draymond Green. Um. Well, we'll talk some more about the sons with uh with Jody Ailer um coming up at seventeen. But there's an interesting thing that you know. The Clippers are moving to again in the arena over there in Englewood by where the Forum is and where they Steve Ballmer. Their their owners said that they've considered changing the

name of the Clippers but have now decided against it. They're gonna still be the La Clippers. So were they did they mention any names? They didn't mention any name. That just said that they weren't that they were thinking about changing their name. So they'll they're they're not going to do it, so we'll see it. It's like the marketing story. Yeah, um do you have that? You know? Yeah? I do. I do so Larry market in Um nothing this is breaking, but but Larry Marking he has to

and he has to serve some time in the military. It's required by law in Finland. Uh for you have to do it before you're thirty years old. Um, you have to. You have to serve from six months to a year. So it's finally able to dig up because they make a comment on the media on this one. But it says six months to a year, So he basically said, we're not in the playoffs, so I've got

basically an extra month and a half two months that I can serve. There's there's been nothing that says that he can leave at the start of the basketball season and go serve the rest of it spart. But it doesn't say I had trouble finding any story that said how long he's got to serve? Sports Illustrated, Yahoo, UM USA today, all these stories, none of them like you said, it should have been the second paragraph of the story, how long he's got to serve. I finally found one that said six months

to a year. Shouldn't But it doesn't say whether it has to be continuous or right, And it doesn't say whether it's continuous or not if he can break it up. But he's got to do it by the time he's thirty, so he started. There's pictures of him on social media with a with his buzzcut hair. You know, those gold locks are are are gone. He's they show he's in Lyne with some other with some other members of the military, and he's a foot taller than all of them pretty funny. Right,

There's one thing. I don't know why this came to mind, but I would steal. And I've said this publicly that I would take Laurie over Eton, which may be controversial. More skills, a very good player, and the future continues to be so bright. But the one thing about these guys that Sean recruited, uh, and we all know about guys they recruited. They're all good guys. Just look at you know, Ristic. We had him on the show. Very good guy marketing, very quiet, good

dude. Ayton even was kind of a goofy, cool dude. I don't think I don't have to search, but I can't remember a bad dude. You know what I'm saying. For Miller, Oh he was. He was different. Yeah, it was just different. He wasn't a bad Yeah, he was just different. Well okay, let me, I let me. I'll just say my opinion was he was a bad team Well he was in it for himself. Yeah that's different. That's yeah, he was. I was just say, you think, yeah, so yeah that to me and

to me, that's a bad guy. Yeah. Yeah, No, he just kind of was. That's how he grew up and then he makes it the NBA get the big bucks, and that was his downfall again. He didn't want to not a shot ball right all right? Um, other big news in the NFL. DeMar Hamlin, the guy who lapsed on the field. Basically he said, his quote was I died on the field that night. Uh yeah, he said I died on national TV. He will Um, he's been clear to play clear to he's he's participating in voluntary workouts with

the Bills. You know he's he held a press conference. His goal is to be on the field with the Buffalo. I hadn't heard this. I mean I had heard it, but hadn't had it. Um. I guess I had heard that this was a possibility. But he said that the specialists agreed that the reason his heart stopped was a result of something called commodio cordis, which is a direct blow at a specific point in a heartbeat that causes cardiac arrest. So he just got hit at the right place at the right

time, and it caused that. It wasn't that strange only because we see athletes do this all the time at any point, at any point kickboxing or w ucuci kicked in the heart in the chest. But that doesn't that doesn't happen unless it's happened, and we don't know about But we've heard and while we've heard of players, baseball players getting hit in the chest with the line drive right or with the pitch and have died as a result. Right,

you know, it's got to be that kind of a blow. I don't recall I recall seeing what happened that he actually got that kind of a blow with Hamlet. What do you mean. I mean, he took a helmet to the chest, But it didn't seem all that like somebody you know, Oh, it was routiered, It was eute. It was just a routine thing, you know, bad timing. I mean, honestly, would you

do it? Would you do it? Yeah? It's hard to say because I don't know that I've ever been as competitive as these guys right right this and this is their life, this is their life, and the tons somebody doing it. It's been Tom Hamlet's life. It gathers and stuff back in the day. Would you have done it again? Or you know, yeah, that's toff. I don't know, But anyway, TOMR. Hamlets as uh going to be years old, I have another one. I don't know if you have a local story like this, Well, go ahead, Um,

did you see what happened yesterday? Oh yeah, former US a softball player, a local star uh stixy redundant to Santa Cruz passed away. Yeah, a fifty two, fifty two years old. And I covered the team when they were ninety one and ninety three when she was on it and they won the title. I mean, come on, I was almost sixty, she was eighteen twenty. I was six years older, and I'm thinking, holy more, what the hell? Yeah, we know anything. Yeah, I don't want to say this. I'll tell you off there. I don't

want to because I don't know if it's been in public. But it's just kind of the times of our lives where you just don't know. Yeah, you just don't, don't you don't And that and that was one of the things that DeMar Hamlet said that more than anything, he's come to appreciate every minute of his life. Yeah, I don't take I don't take one minute

of my life for Graham. I think I think that when you have something like this, and anybody can call in and say when something like this happens, you realize, you realize it, but it doesn't happen until it happens. You really, right, you don't know, Yeah, you don't know. Yeah, that was very very very sad, really sad to see that. All Right, Um, we're talking recruiting Tommy Lloyd, a couple of

guys he's waiting to hear from. But Carter Bryant, the number four overall at least by two four seven Sports overall prospect in the twenty twenty four class, says he's going to announce is the decision tomorrow? Isn't it isn't strange? Go ahead and say it between. It's between Arizona and Louisville. For him, he's a six a two hundred and twenty five pound uh wing.

So his Louisville and Arizona, aren't they just two totally different teams today today, not historically but today because Louisville was dog off, they were terrible and they still have the same coach. Right. I mean, you're hoping unless he wants to be part of the like the Jetfish creation something like that, you know, start over, But it seems like is there a choice?

Yeah, And he's from California. Yeah, but the Saint Louis thing doesn't make any sense unless there's something and I right, right, right, Um, But you know, if he wants to go play for a team that is in a better position, a program that's in better position, why wouldn't in Arizona. But he's gonna make his announcement at five o'clock tomorrow. No, I thought it's the twenty sixth. I'm sorry. Next week, a week from the twenty six eight o'clock Eastern time, five o'clock our time.

He's gonna do it on the two four seventh Sports channel on YouTube. Isn't it funny? Isn't it funny? And this funny is the right word. But I covered recruiting in the late eighties. I hated it. You hated it too, you put it, covered it before me. And back then it was chasing down the kids and could you tell you know what were you thinking? Blah blah blah. Now it was press converences with hats and remove about you know what. Now it's TV crap. I was gonna say a

bad word. Uh, I don't get it. I don't like it. I just don't. I'm gonna I'm gonna say a very judgmental thing, and it may come to eat my words if he does come to Arizona. I really am a little suspect of a player who likes to call this much attention to him. Yeah, no, it's it's yeah, it happens. Sanna Johnson won, right, Sandy Johnson did it. He was here for a year. And what do you know about Santa Johnson. I don't dismirche any of the their telling have your time, it's your time, you get to

do it. You've been wanting to do something like this forever. But to me, somebody who likes to have this kind of attention, this kind of spotlight on him, I wonder how much of a team player this we don't want? Yeah, you know, we don't need the not help, but think that and maybe it's it's a sign of the times. And I'm okay with that, I guess, but I'm not. Yeah yeah, um all right, uh real quick uh. Pack twelve Women's golf tournament is on.

They finished day two and Arizona is in a tie for first place. Well USC eight under par after two days, which is a dang good score. Sounds like we'll have to have coach. I know, we haven't had our own show for a long while. We'll see how they do PAC twelves when they getting ready for nationals. But they came. They were three strokes down going into today. Uh, they caught to the ki USC and they are now in a tie for first playing up in Phoenix uh at Papago Golf Club.

The tournament starts again tomorrow at nine o'clock nine ten two some time. Well, of course arizon a time, but trying to win a Pac twelve championship. So there you go. So um. And then one last thing. Uh, this threw me back to nineteen eighty right when when the when the US boycotted the the Moscow Olympics and and all that stuff and then but h Russia has been is not going to be allowed to participate in the men's

Olympic basketball tournament in Paris next year. The the FIBA, the governing body for international basketball, has said you're out because of because of the warren Ukraine. They had already uh, the the women's team had already been ruled out of the Olympics as well. Basically, team sports from Russia are not being allowed to participate. Individuals can and they and they're they can they can participate not representing Russia. So whatever Olympic sports, even your track or whatever.

But as far as teams like uh like basketball and whatnot, they're not gonna be allowed to participate in basketball. Men's basketball is out. Well it was something that was handed down today. Okay, all right, perfect time, all right, perfect time. Let's hit the road. We're gonna come back. Uh, we're gonna have um h, Jody Ayler is gonna come on.

We'll talk some sun stuff with him, as well as uh, maybe a little bit of a little bit of computer screw me up, seeing a little bit about Cardinals with the draft coming up, So stick around for Jody

and a half. More power to you. Good for you, No wonder your your father of the Year. You got three votes right there, exactly right, Hey, it's no Dee has has Phoenix burned down yet? If they lose tonight, who knows. Man, If they lose tonight, it's gonna be wild. But you know, I just telling people before the playoffs started, there's all these Suns fans that were just like, oh, who's

smished office in the past, and this team together for eight games. You gotta have some humility in the NBA playoffs, And I think that first game was enough of a reminder that there's a long way to go between the first Suns championship. Well all right, all right, well what okay, I mean in your mind, what went wrong on that besides where Russell Westbrook? What went wrong in the last game? Well, they used to starting lineup

they've never used before with Kevin Durant. That's one Tory Cray played well, but that completely changed the dynamic of every other role player. And then they just don't have a bench. They don't have a single championship caliber role player coming off the bensional. Malik Monk is impacting the Warriors King series in dramatic way. Every team's got a guy that's a difference maker, except except the Suns. They've got, you know, a couple of bids that are fringe

NBA guys, and Josha Kobe is a fringe rotation. Play this they don't happen. And by the way, Kevin Durant Devin Booker weren't at their best. So it's hard to beat teams when your two best players are are good but not great. So I don't know, how do you handle this team in your show in the morning, because you're you're you straight, you shoot a straight You know you're not a fan, but you're not a hater that much, So how do you how do you shoot? How do you talk

about this team? They're not winning the championship and that it's going to take a summer to overhaul their roster around Kevin Durant and Devin Booker. And you can't pay direct DeAndre eight and thirty million dollars to be an average NBA center. And I think there's there's the Kevin Durant trade. Some people view that as the final step for a championship. I view it as the first step to this team becoming a championship caliber and there's going to be a few other

steps along the way. Chris Paul was in trade rumors. That's terrible to try to convince him that he's still the guy when you know blatantly shopped him for Kyrie Irving. So I think the Kevin Durant trade was step one, and to me, as long as he's on the team, they've got a championship window. So it's not like they've got to win it this year. By the way, the Cail Bridges and Kim Johnson are having some nice moments that the Nets can't even come close to beating the sick. So I don't

feel like there's any trade regret. It's just going to take a little more time. Are you happy they didn't get Kyrie Irving? Oh? Yeah, that would have been awful. I mean just we've seen obviously what he's done every steps that he left Cleveland and Lebron, So you know, there's a lot of rumblings out there that Kyrie is going to be a Phoenix Sun this summer. I think that would be a debacle. You know that's that's that's a debacle. Well that's when you're trying to buy the team and it just

doesn't really work. We were just talking about this earlier. Talent doesn't always win the day, especially if they don't like each other. Yeah, you've got to have other things of it than you got to have depth, you gotta have chemistry, You've got a leadership. This is the one area I think Suns fans are sort of being introduced to with Kevin Durant is he's never wanted to be the guy, the guy that does everything right. He's not

Lebron where it wants to be his team. He wants to call the shots, he wants to be the GM. He wants to be the leader. Like Kevin duran has said over and over again over the years, like I just want to play basketball. In Brooklyn, James Harden was reported to the leader the locker room. In Golden State, it was Steph Curry and Draymond Green. In Oklahoma City, Russell Westbrook was sort of the alpha and the front and center guy, and Kevin Durant was just the great player that he

is. But he doesn't want to be everything to everyone, and when you're when you're the best player on the team, that sometimes could be a problem. Yeah yeah, So okay, so they it just didn't go well for them the other night. You know, tonight, they've got to do what well tonight. They need Kevin Durant and Devin Booker to combine for at least sixty points. I think they're gonna need a little bit more from DeAndre Ayton

in terms of physicality. I think they probably need to play Terrence Ross more than four minutes because he's the one guy off the bench that can kind of get hot and buy you some time. And they just you know, that game was a lot closer than I think people think in hinzech Is it's just spelling dramatic, but just box out, grab some rebounds, hit some open shots that the team hits most of the time, and they should even up the series. And I do expect him to win tonight. But I'm kind

of surprised the line was eight points. That's still a lot I would I wouldn't think they cover that, but I do think they get the outright w So I liked your evaluation and when I asked you we talk about it here because we're not close, like you guys that if if m Durant stays healthy, if this, if that, and I hate that word. If you're going to hope for something because you don't know, right if something goes wrong your toast, What do you think about that? Where everything's kind of dependent

on the if. I think that's the whole NBB now. I mean, I think injuries and load management and everything is just a let's just hope we get to the playoffs healthy, and I think the whole league operates that way. So I don't think that's just the Sun's obviously, with Kevin Durant's injury history is a little bit more pronounced. But I think the whole NBA now is like, all right, let's say, don't win a championship. You get to the regular season and it's just one long waiting room at the dentist

office until you get to the playoffs and it's just not fun. So unfortunately, I don't think there's any other way to look at it, and I think the NBA is sort of battling that right now. Well they're time. I'm well, there's first of all, the rule that you got to play in. What are they saying sixty five games to get to win an award and all that kind of stuff. Right, But let me ask, how is Devin Booker responded to having Kevin Durant run Because Devin Booker was the guy,

right and now Kevin Durant is the guy. Has that been good for him? How do you think he's taken that? Yeah? I think he already had some experience of that when Chris Paul was acquired, and Devin Booker has done great with it. I mean, this is one of the reasons why Devin Booker so beloved is that there's no drama with Devin Booker. I mean, he is always going to be team first. He's always going to

be the guy that's calming things down, not escalating things. So Devin Booker has been great, and I think I think what we're seeing is that, you know, over this period that Kevin Durant is a son, assuming he saves a son for the duration of the contract, because that's another element of the NBA you can for Dick. But assuming it is, I think Devin

Booker will eclipse Kevin Durant within you know, the next eighteen months. Is the unquestioned best player on this team, and I think that's nothing but a good thing for him and the Suns. So you said they will not win. I totally agree with you. Wouldn't win at all. Where are they going to find their hiccup? Um? I mean, I think there's a slightly better than fifty percent chance to beat the Clippers. And then if I think the Nuggets would probably you know, beat them in five or six games,

I don't. I don't. I don't think they can beat the Clippers in a seven game series with this roster, and you know, barring injury obviously, but that there's just no debt. And that's the problem. I mean, the deeper you go into the playoffs, the more you need role players to step up and over puce and I don't. I don't trust any of the Sun's role players as as the postseason players on. Okay, all

right, all right? So um, and you mentioned again we've had we've we've talked about DeAndre and every time you've been on the show you called him average a few minutes ago, Is there any hope that he's going to be better than average at some point? No? No, I think we've been playing that game for six years. I mean DeAndre ET's pretty much the same guy now as he was a freshman at U of A, which is, hey, we see the talent, you see the skill, but it's just

not there. There's just some guys I don't know. Everyone keeps thinking it's time and it's gonna click, And I don't think DeAndre Aden's wired the way you have to be wired to maximize your abilities and to be a great player. I think he's a good NBA player. I think he's a good role player. I think he's productive. I think he brings more to the table than he takes off. But I think we need to all drop this idea that there's something more lurking inside of DeAndre eight and like the guy, it's

just not gonna happen. It's funny you say that, it's a great observation because when he got here, his like he didn't have the motor or he didn't have the motivation, because all his life he's done the biggest guy. He didn't have to show up, but just show up and play right. And it's you say, six years later, hasn't really changed. But what's that saying? If they show you who you are, that's believe him or

something like that. This is exactly exactly right. DeAndre Ayton is one of those guys that he's been telling us exactly who and what he is for years. And it's a good player, right, it's a good player. This is not DeAndre Ayton staying sir. It doesn't have a role like. He's a good and gay player. He can be a productive member of your rotation. He's not a star. He's never going to be a star. He's not. He's not. He's just not cut out for that, I don't

think. And you know, he got his contract, that didn't change things. The pursuit of the contract didn't change things. You know, the playoff run and the finals run didn't make him a fundamentally different player. I'm just running out of ways for the light bulb to turn on. And so I think the Suns will probably have a real conversation this summer about trading DeAndre Eton. And the question is who wants a thirty million dollars a year center.

That's pretty good but but nowhere near being great. Yeah, yeah, no, don't kid him. And you know, I mean, yeah, Steve talking about his time here, we had we saw him for this one year and I mean there were games that he just didn't show you, whether you say you want to say he took games off, you know, intentionally or greorgious games that he just wasn't around, and that was that was tough to

see. Was such a talent Well yeah, I mean I always go back to the Buffalo game, and you know that season was so tumultuous, with so much drama on so many Clay the FBI investigation and Sean Miller and all that, But like that Buffalo game, they were defending DeAndre a with a guy that was like six seven sixty eight, and instead of putting down you know, thirty and fifteen to just will his team to a victory, he

just kind of packed it in and didn't didn't really do much. And I think that game's always sort of stained how I viewed DeAndre Aton, and to be to be honest, I think it's been the accurate the kind of player we've seen since then, which is doesn't rise to the challenge, has been prodded and kind of shoot on by Chris Paul and Devin Booker and Monty Williams for years, and you just you kind of get the same DeAndre in which again everyone points to his box score. Oh he was eighteen and eight in

game one. There's no presence from DeAndre, there's no impact, there's no like, this is my paint, these are my boards. Like he's just a guy out there and they need him to be more. Yeah, it's really strange because if you are who you are, there's no perception. There's no way he's going to change that perception. Let's change the topic real quick of ASU football because I had something. They had some questions about did you see any of it? Did you care anything about it? And one what

was the real attendance there? Yeah? No, So I did patch run on Saturday morning and the event was a few hours after. And their whole plan was, Hey, if we do it after patch run, whether there's thirty thousand plus people all on you know, at the Stadt at the Tempu

campus, maybe we can just get people to stick around. And that's a that's an event where it's an amazing community event, but as soon as it's over, people lead and you know, it's just hard to get people to come to a spring game when they weren't patch round, but they don't want to fight the traffic to get down there. It was minimally intended. I did not go to it. I saw obviously some videos and highlights of it,

but um, you know, I think Kenny Dillingham is learning. I think it's an impressive hire phrase too, but he's used to whatever energy he puts into recruiting and networking has been directly paid out in results. I think when it comes to fan support, it doesn't matter how hard you work,

it doesn't matter how much hype you create. If you're not winning football games, people are not going to show up an a sue and you of a football are similar in that way where you know, Jetfish can take out full page ads pleading for a sellout, or they can have this gimmick or that can if you're you know, three and five, no one cares. And so these coaches are being paid a tremendous amount of money. They need to understand one thing, and I think jet Fish learned this and is applied it

a little better. Near three years. You have to leave. That's what you're being not just a team. You've got to lead the program. You've got to lead the charge. You've got to lead, You've got to produce, and if that happens, people will follow. Now, if you lead and you win and people don't follow, then I understand complaining about fans. But then I understand complaining about fans. But it's not up to fans to lead the program. They're not the one getting paid millions of dollars. It's

up to you. And I think Kenny Dilling and a young guy is learning that. I think Jetfish it took him probably two years to learn that. But that's that's the way it works at as you and you have exactly real quick a minute before you go, what's the latest on what everything the Cardinals is going to do in the draft? Well, man, everything's differ now. But it sounds like the Tectives might take a quarterback at number two, might not take a quarterback. So I think they want to trade down.

The question is do they have anybody who wanted to trade up? Um? I think trading down is just their number one option. And I'm they're gonna need eighteen new starters between last year to next year, and it's going to start with a lot of ticks, So that's what they need. That's an industry, holy, holy and all. Because we talked about this one before the year, Murray, I think it's a horrible experiment and it's proven to

be horrible, and good luck having patience with that team. Yeah, I know it's been it's been a test, but you know that's we get to talk about the teams for a little. It's not all bad. Thank you, Hey, Jody, thanks a Buching. I appreciate it. Always pleasure guy. Yeah, thank you, Jody Eyler. I love him talking to him because he's straight. Yeah, yeah, and the voice and the voice,

yeah, what he's straight, he really is, you know. And look, he doesn't hate anybody, but he's got his opinion about everybody and it's always you know. And what I like why it's an informed depend but you know, he's just not making stuff up. No, no, no, I'd like every take on that. Yeah, it's very cool. All right, let's let's take our last break. Hey, welcome back to il the ball, you know, Fox Sports fourteen fifty one. He's Jacobs as You've got a call here, Yeah, we have. Huh you're on the air. Good afternoon, guys. How are we doing? We're good? What's up? Good? Good? Love your interviews again. Hey, just two brief topics. One is, uh, you

know what the Arizona basketball you know, always was a loot guy. I'm a hundred in on Tommy, So to me, it's gotta be you know, there's two in God we trust and then Tommy and we'll take it from there, you know that, you know. Hey, and how about how about a little gambling? A little gambling? All right? What do you got? You know? I thought, uh, it wasn't the second coming when an online gambling came in a year and a half ago, but boy,

I should love it. Hey, here's a bit of a friend of mine showed me, and I like to do this, you know, with your in game parlay. Like you know, I'm watching these scores in the basketball games and the Hawks up man, who's thirty five points? I thought that ten points was gonna be a little MutS maybe with the Celtics, but now who knows. But here's what I like to do, guys. When

you're gonna put an end game parlay in, go to hockey. And when you get a game that's in the third period and it gets down to six or eight minutes to go in the game, in the third period, let's say the score is four to one, that over under is usually gonna be two and a half higher seven and a half, and it sometimes it's fun and it makes sense to go ahead and throw that under ind along with whoever else you really got on your parlay, because it helps your odds out and

it hits more than it doesn't, you know, to hit that under within the last six or eight minutes of the third period. So so if I'm betting hockey, I'm calling exactly exactly where I was going. I haven't gotten the table tennis yet, you know, cornhole. Well, let me say if you're gonna say, and got to be trust in time. When you trust, who else do you have left? You can't trust those two? Well? You know that's it? Right? Good luck. I always appreciate

you guys, all right, man, Hey, thanks for colleague. You're right. I mean, I'm like, if I if I started betting hockey, I could honey, call call call one eight x step please help. I need a lot of I need a lot of hell. I've never I don't even know what the hell I'm a I'm a soccer guy, right, but because my kids, But you bet soccer. No. My point is it's kind of the same offsides on side. But but hockey, I have no idea what they're doing. Yeah, I just know they're gonna get their

black thing in the in the in the goal. Yeah you know. Um, okay, Hey, here's the here, here's a little topic. Um. Yogi Roth, our friend Yogi Roth has been on our show Bunch of Times Packed twelve Networks, and football analyst Rate ranked his top three Pack twelve quarterbacks. Caleb Williams number one, Okay, Michael Pennis Washington number two. I almost even though I get it. Caleb Williams is the high of Trophy Window. But I think Michael Penis can do more. I take Michael Panics

and then bow next at Oregon. Three honorable mentions. Three honorable mentions, Well, the co of course, the three's left. I mean, obviously came rising right, cam a Ward at what Washington State and Oregon? Then uh and then jan What about the new guy Oregon State? None on that list? Right now, you got to do something. He was terrible at Clemson last year. I think it's for you first. Got to come in

and do some stuff before you start ranking him with those. The thing is what it tells you, though, is how good the quarterback class is going to be this year? In the fact twelve, Yeah, every team you play is gonna have good quarter Another reason why it's not gonna be an easy stretch. Oh, it's not because well does that the new calendar? Yeah? What does it say? I can't see it from here? It really? Is that mean we've got that? We're talking about the football schedule poster.

It's up a great picture, is great, but the schedule isn't like fine print at the bottom of the poster. Weekend read it from the funny think about it. What's the purpose of the schedule? The schedule right right? Yeah, exactly? The boss to be able to read it. If you put it up on your wall, we're supposed to be able to read it. We can't read it from here. And it's not because we're old guys. Okay, you just can't read the schedule. I mean, if

you're sharp eyes, you're not gonna be able to read this schedule. But anyways, um, but here the thing, the thing of it is is that at least going in Arizona's got one of the quarterbacks right that, you know, Arizona is gonna be we were talking about, all the other games are gonna be hard to win, hard to beat Arizona no matter who. You're right, they're not an easy out right. The USC's gonna have a tough time beating in Arizona. So they're not gonna be They're gonna be able

to beat you on any day. But as you said, you know you can lose to all every team in the Pac twelve. You can probably lose two as well. The one thing that I don't I don't feel any trepidation is that their number two guys, whether it's h or the kid from you need to learn his name. Very impressive, very impressive. We need we're gonna need to very impressive because if it's he's one of your guys playing guy, Yeah, he looks the part for sure. You know one of those

guys who looks good in a football uniform, no doubt. But I'll say what I'll also tell you good or crews didn't too, right. Yeah, but you know at the at the spring game on Saturday, you know, Jane Lare only played two series, you know, the feet to playing a lot more. He was on the on the opposite team. His arm just whose feet his arm? Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean he

made some throws. Now I think he threw a pick. But the throws that he makes, you know, if he if he goes deep or whatever, or his ball has some zip and that's you know, I man, I gotta imagine there's gotta be a time that Tommy's wanted to put Tommy Je's gonna want to put that on the feed. Well, and and he has the option of playing both right, because he did some trick plays in the

two quarterbacks and the because he's got some speed keeping off a feed. His interest, Man, keep got so keep you say that that way, and I'm okay with that. But nowadays and I l now it's it's like we talked about with the Sean and m Stanley Johnson, Uh, what if how do you keep them happy? I don't need to keep them happy. Guess what you do now? Do you do now? Absolutely do now, or

or you turn into the women's basketball team. And quarterback is the position that you have to do that more than probably more than any position in any sport, in any college sport, is you got the quarterback. That's the one that those are the guys that they think a lot of themselves. Have to

be a college quarterback, you gotta have a lot of confidence. They think a lot of themselves and if they're not playing, they're gonna go somewhere where they're gonna Well, Jay, if you wanted to write that story, you don't talk to let's say ten talk to the players the coaches in the PAC twelve uh, and they say, keeping people happy, you have to change your things away. They're not gonna go on the record with you. Now, this is on off the record story that one one the coach from an

a Philly team said, it's a bunch of crap. Yeah, it's a bunch of crap and I hate it. Or we have the time and the sign of the times whatever, because they're not gonna put their name to say it's a bunch of crap. Yeah, well, you know, on the way, and I was listening to uh. I was listening to a conversation on that podcast, had listened to Dan Wets. One of those guys they're talking about the situation in Mississippi, Lane Kiffin. He's got three quarterbacks.

Two of them are the top recruits and one is a is a transfer from Oklahoma State who all think they should be the guy, right, he said, by the end of summer, how many of those those three guys, sure many of them are still going to be a Mississippi Right, all of a sudden, you've got this quarterback room with three really good players. You think we're in good shape. Somebody gets hurt. We got guys. You get to August and if two of those guys left, because they're gonna go

somewhere where they're gonna play, no question. And back in the day, and I go back to the things I know looch times h. You had the team, the first team that was pretty darn good, right, The second team was pretty good, which made the first team right, very good, you know what I'm saying. Right, when you had that competition and you didn't have to worry about people leaving or whatever because they knew their time

was going to come. Yeah, the Jason Terry's a world right. Well, you know, you know, I go back to the eighty eight team, and Luke said a bunch of times that one of the reasons the AD eight team was so good with you know, Kerr Meliots, everybody on the team knew that those were the five best guys. Yeah, and nobody was

arguing about whether or not they should play. Let's not forget Sean Rooks and Mark Georgson too, you know, seven foot guys to the highest highly you know, highest recruits in the country at that time came Derizona and both ret because both the treat because they knew they weren'ting to play. And then you had Harvey Mason, top recruit. You had Matt Muellbach another top recruit,

and and Joe Turner who had been here. Yeah, Kenny Lofton had these guys and and and he said often and everybody knows those five guys that are starting for the best five. It's funny. I don't think that Matt m

has mentioned. We had four minutes I talked about this because what they did a lot after, you know, all doing the fundamental stuff was the scrimmaged a lot first team against second team blah blah blah, and and Luke would play the second team against first team and he'd be bissed if the second team won one, right, and they'd play until the first team one just to

prove, just to prove his point right for sure. And yeah, I remember, I remember all that too, because you know again and and sometimes that's what you need then other you know, And look, the guys were good enough to be competitive in practice, but there was no question who the five starters were supposed to read. And that kind of made that group.

You know, that's why the Gumbies became the Gumbies because they knew, so they didn't mind being the guys on the bench cheering the team on making a spectacle, which was a big part of the heart of that trip and what people loved about that team. How many Gumbies text messages and things on social media did we see after Harvey Mason was on the show Friday? Yeah, people still talk about the Gumbies. Yeah, it was the good It's like your first born the whole time, was your first born. Yeah, exactly.

You love your first board. You kind of tolerate your second board in your third. I love all my boards. Can we rock? Go right ahead and safe the door brand with the sissions that okay, you'll survived. Don't wor about it. Put it in water on it exactly exactly. So okay, no, hey, good show today. The fund the George was fun and Jodey's always good because he's he's he's uh, straight, straight shooter, straight shooter. Your Celtics are up ten. Now see what third quarter?

Two or two and a half minutes left in the second quarter? Oh yeah, that turned fast the NBA, because because I saw the Hawks got up by ten. Yeah, it's the Celtics. It turned over by twenty point. It's three shots. That's why the game last night with the Warriors when they were down by six, that's two shots by Curry. But he hasn't he didn't shoot the ball. Well uh and Thompson was okay, yeah, who knows, man, I don't know, man, what do you?

I don't know. I just nobody's expected. It was expecting the Warriors to lose the first two games. Right one. Here's here's your thought. I was with somebody a couple of nights ago talking about the tournament. They're telling me. They said, oh, we missed an opportunity about betting the

underdogs because it was the underdog year. Right. But the problem with us now and everybody else, uh, we don't We're focused Arizona, Arizona basketball, right, Arizona basketball, some pack twelve, but we don't find out about fau FAU until it's time. But they're pretty dark. You don't realize about the other schools around the country because we're too focused on what we know as well. That's it, And and people get shocked by these and it

shouldn't be. Right after i FA you won their first two games, how many people did you say? Those guys are really good? They're good. They're thirty five games for a reason. They're really really good. But that time you're Backet's already messed out. Everybody's bracket was messed up. Come on, you're gonna pick Farndy Dickinson over over Virginia. You know what I'm saying. You don't know because you don't know, because you don't know. And

the history of the game is, well, Kansas is always good. We've got to move down. It was Arizone is always No, that's not how it works. Always man. I mean they're always good, but not you don't tournaments a different beam, that's what happens. Yeah, so next year we'll see more. You know, maybe I have to do ten brackets. But guy, all right, Okay, good show, okay, very good shows, a lot of fun. We will have Pat Paris, we'll be

coming on. We'll talk okay, because people trying to fill in, Okay, so we'll talk some Sugar Skulls. They are undefeated and uh going into their home opener this weekend, so we'll do that. And uh, I don't when's the game? When's the game? Sunday, Saturday six, Saturday six, Okay, because I still have to the quarterback story. All Right, Okay, we'll be back tomorrow, but we hope you'll be here with us. Three
