Steve Rivera and jaygn Salez. They have their eye on the ball on Tucson's Sports stag chet Fox Sports fourteen fifty streaming live on the iHeart Radio wab Hey, welcome back to twice the ball, you know, Fox Sports fourteen fifty or Steve, he's Jay got Canva with breaking news the his eye on the ball breaking news on Fox Sports fourteen fifty. All right, so we do have some breaking news today. We're in Go ahead and start in the PAC

twelve. All right, dj Ungalle is entering the transfer portal yet again, shot not shot. Well, he's got is a grad transfer right. His coach left, who was a sort of his quarterback group. I wonder if he's going to Michigan State. Oh, A lot of the lost, a lot of quarterbacks, three of them that would be the obviously Storte, that's like the quarterback from Duke Great going to maybe Texas A and m Yeah. Well, then let's start a rumor. No, let's start a rumor somebody

yesterday with the with the TMAC. Let's start win. Anyway, this is the most excited we've seen jail start. I want to start one. Okay, start what No it's not a journalism, wouldn't be journalism at all. Yeah, he's saying that doesn't even in his objective. They'll keep it to myself. But speaking of more PAC twelve stuff, Cal offensive coordinator is moving over to Baylor. Uh. So Baylor has just hired him. I believe

his as an offensive coordinator. Yes, as an offensive coordinator. Oh, sorry, the coach he was a little bit on the hot seat because they were so bad this year. Yeah, so David Randa. They retained him after a three and nine season, but the offensive coordinator, Jeff Grimes was dismissed, so they pretty much that to their blaming for that season. Uh. And Baylor's bringing on Jake's pivotal spot vital. Sorry as the duoc over

there, Tommy Lloyd kind of talked about it a little bit. But we do have some NBA mock draft news for those who care about that stuff. You know, our coach does Tommy, Tommy Lloyd does it. Yeah, does not live in the world, live in the world of mock exactly. That was funny. But yeah, USC guard Isaiah Collier is predicted to number number one overall, to the same number one overall, Number one overall first round of the Spurs. Wow. Yeah, he's about almost nineteen years old.

But it looks like us he has. Have you seen him? I haven't seen him play. I have not watched a lot of us. Actually they played last night at like nine pm, I think, but I didn't. I didn't get to catch that one. And for those who were wondering where Colin Boswell fell into the mox, he was also going to the Spurs first round or first pick of the second round. Uh, to the Spurs, Like I said, number thirty one overall. All right, that's that's

living in mock though. Yeah, that's living in the mock. We don't. We don't do that over here. You know what we're gonna you know what, we should cut that clip and use it like we you use the Azulas one. I don't live in the mock, don't. Yeah, I don't. I'm gonna cut put it up both it. Yeah, that one and the shot and we need that one and the I didn't know he was a stock to be traded on the Yeah, that's a good one too.

Arizona Cardinals have waved tight end zach Ertz. It's reported they he asked to be cut He's been dealing with some injuries the past couple of years, kind of on and off the field. Cardinals are not that great on the field anyway, so he might be he might be looking for a better situation for him. Yeah, yeah, okay, he he used to be a good fantasy player tight ended with the Eagle. The Eagles. Yeah, I remember that he was on a couple of my teams. We have more USC news.

I know it's not a USC show, but yeah, Brownie James has been cleared to come back to Yeah, and they have a tough schedule coming up, so maybe he'll maybe somewhere in there, you know. You know, is he hyped over hyped, under hyped, overrated, under I don't know. But the fact that he went through that thing, you know, and and yeah, he had Chartiac. Just be happy to be alive, right, He's gonna play college basketball. Yeah, probably a whole new lease

on life for him. Uh. Speaking of the James family, Maverick Carter, this is breaking news today. Maverick Carter, Lebron James manager. He was involved in a information set sequestry of sorts by the Courts where they were looking into a former minor league baseball player who was organizing an illegal betting pool, Maverick Carter. In that investigation, he was cooperating with the authorities and admitted that he had placed bets with the illegal book maker on the NBA.

He said he could not remember if he placed any bets on the Lakers or teams that, yeah, were teams that his clients were working for. They were saying that he was making bets, with each bet ranging from five thousand to ten thousand dollars. In the NBA prohibits players and team officials and league officials obviously from betting on the games. Yeah, so that's kind of a

news story today. We'll see where that kind of shakes out. And he just released a book too, So a lot a lot of Maverick Carter in the news this hall. That's so good. Yeah, that's not so good news. We got more not so good news. Unfortunately. Von Miller has

been arrested. Well, arrest warrant has released for von Miller the bills the end for allegedly assaulting his pregnant girlfriend in a quite traumatic little dispute domestic dispute, traumatic little scene outlined by ESPN today in more positive news into Miami has wait so wait, they said they've issued the warrant. He hasn't. Actually, yeah, there's been no rest. Yeah, they've issued a warrant. Okay, Yeah, I guess he had the issue with this in twenty twenty

one as well. This is oh he's done it before. Yeah, he can go talk to Hulu Uias and talk about how that went for his career. Yeah. They're saying that he was not at the scene when the police arrived. They're saying he left after she was She stated that she was going to call the police, and so they're they had worn out for his arrest and some son of your news. Though. Inter Miami has sold out their twenty twenty four season tickets already. It's it's the year of you know,

MESSI. Last year was kind of disappointing. This year, it only took two weeks to saw out the entire season ticket h Yeah, yeah, and it was it was interesting to me to see the different the different prices that that they're the the MLS teams are charging for tickets, like the Columbus Crew when they're playing into Miami. Tickets are ranging from you know, lowest three hundred, four hundred dollars. Now they're playing anybody else, they're forty dollars

ticket. I thought that was I mean, it's it's it's obviously not shocking, but it's I don't know, it stood out to me. And then in other breaking news, Christiano Ronaldo has been involved there is now involved in a one billion dollar class action lawsuit involving his NFT corporation that he founded, where uh, the lawsuit is alleging that it was kind of somewhat fraudulent and that he did not disclose how much that the company was actually paying him to

do these things and promote this product. And so yeah, he's wrapped up in quite the large class action, wasn't there Who was it that was having was it Messy too, that was having some tax issues that was going to get arrested or was it one of the neymar or one of the other guys. I don't know off the top of my head, but do you think so Ronaldo Ronaldo or or was it Ronaldo one of those that was that was actually gonna get arrested for for taxes back in their home country. Whatever it

was. Yeah, And then as far as baking new that's all I had for I saw. I saw what I wanted to bring up, Dione Sanders being named the Sports Illustrated That's right. What first thing this morning that you know? I pop open Twitter and there it is, and I'm like, wait a minute. I mean, honestly, if he was, you know, I want to I don't want to compare him to Jetfish, but if Jetfish, if he was at Arizona with this miracle worker here, he would be Sportsman of the Year. He what did he do? He won three

games? To be well, he let he led college football on fire for a month and that was its twelve months. Yeah, there's eleven other months. You you're one hundred percent correct, Steve. I saw that. I mean, I'm sitting you're trying to think. Okay, then who would it be? I can't think of anybody who it would be, but not him? Yes, what what has he done? He took a one eleven team and got him to four and eight? Yeah, yeah, right, Okay, I get it. He sold out Colorado football. But it's not like

he sold out Nebraska football or Florida football, Tennessee or something. And this may be a dumb comparison, but if he was not d On and this happened to Jetfish or some other coach, you wouldn't think anything of it. He'd be on the hot seat next year. Look, I don't get it. I don't know. I haven't read that. I haven't read the story. Pat pat Fordy wrote the story. And you know, we all know

Pat and he's good writer and so and he writes for Sports Illustrated. So I got to read the story and maybe, you know, next week, if we're talking about it again, you know, come back to it. But I have to find I have to read the story to find out, Okay, what makes him the Sportsman of the Year, because I don't from where I sit right now, obviously were you sit, you're going, what

the hell I saw that? I said, what deserves this? I mean he he at some point underachieved after going three and all right, at some point, and he was exciting. It was very excited. Didn't know what's going on, no doubt, he said. But then the fire, Yeah, he threw a bucket of water on then it rained, Yeah, and it rained. Hell, if anything, you'll catch may have been the guy who won a title with Denver after never having won one before, and he's

probably clearly the best NBA player out there right now. See what he was doing yesterday. He's ridiculous, and you would see him on the street. This is from Jay's perspective. He's not an airport guy. He's not a bust guy. You look at that, dude, this is what does he do for a living? Race his horses. I changed his light bulbs. He's the best NBA player out there, and he does it in a way

that you say, how does he do that? He's doing stuff almost nightly that you look at it and you're like, I've never seen that on a court before in my life. And it's not even hyperbole. It's truly crazy. And there's a couple of guys in the league like that right now, you know, and that's that's who? That's true? Who tell me who chat Holmgren he's not, I'm not. I'm not saying he's on the same level. But there's there's a tier of guys right now in the NBA that

just do things lightly that you're like, I've never seen that before. I can't like, I can't believe that just happened. And yeah, Yoka is one of those guys, and I think he is more deserving than a guy like Dean, But there's probably ten more candidates deserving probably and I haven't been paid, but that was just a that struck me kind of odd. You know. Well, somebody said, well, look at the impact he had again, he had the impact for a month. You're right, And now

he's being quoted because he's Dion right. If anything, if he was Jetfish, he wouldn't be quoted him. But Jetfish deserves it more than he does in my mind, Jetfish and I would not be saying this in August, but Jetfish has done a fantastic job. If you want me to go bah humbug, I can't because I can't come on this guy. This team should have won six games. This team won nine, yeah, and looks very good one nine and probably one of the toughest conference in ages, right,

I get it. They didn't have to play Oregon, but they planned to play Washington, USC in Utah and you Sli and you know, beat everybody but you but USC and that group in Washington, I know even you know. I mean, let's break the let's break the continental United States in half in half. Arizona is one of the top four teams, probably five, maybe don't include Texas in this in the mix, but you break it kind of dead in the middle in the West. In the West, Yeah,

wouldn't it be in the top five? Well, they're they're three behind Oregon, Washington, right, Yeah, Well who's better than them? Just trying to figure Not Utah, probably not usc anymore, in usc anymore. Yeah, there's nobody else, Steve, you would have never ever said this coming with nobody not I don't know where you're cutting it in half, but you know, not in Nebraska, not Kansas, not Kansas State, certainly not Iowa. No, right right in the middle, and there are very few

teams better than there something even by the eye test. Yeah, especially by the eye test. Yeah, yeah again you want you watch the games now and you see them differently because I don't see them as that team that, let's see if they can win this game. I see them as who's going to beat them? How is this other team that they're playing going to beat them? So so I didn't watch the Colorado game because I was coming back

from DO because I didn't see that game. And I would say today if if they laid a dud in the next game, I would be shocked. Because this team doesn't do that. It hasn't done that. Colorado and and Stanford were games that Arizona would lose in, you know, in other years, normal, normal years where they were pretty good and you're going to a game and that they you know, you think you should beat them, and then you don't. And and those those two, those two would would have

been losable games, you know, with another team. And these guys just refused to lose. They just refused to lose. And it's amazing that. I mean again, if you saw remember you probably saw uh uh Jake Fisher's tweet. He said, I apologize for underestimating I left because, dude, We've had a lot of callers on the show. No one got it right but him. Yeah, And what did I do? I said, what's wrong with you? What's wrong with you? You know, Troy may have

said seven or whatever, and I'm thinking, what's wrong with you? Dude? I don't even think my brother went nine and three this year? You know? Yeah? And yeah, who I think went ten and two for one of someone's And I said this before we said it maybe last week people said, now do you believe Steve? I don't know anybody who thought this. I don't. Yes, I was wrong, but everybody I know was

wrong. I struggled to find six wins that really did. I mean, I was saying six, and I kept saying six, but three games I was struggling. Three games in. You're thinking, Ken, they win it at Colorado, Yeah, right right, right, then here we are. I remember when that game was like a big look ahead, like, oh, we got Colorado coming up, it's gonna be a fun matchup. And then it was like, oh god, they can lose. And then then you go into the game and go, we're gonna kick their asses, and

then you almost lose, and then you almost lose. Yeah, okay, cool, that's fun. All right, all right, let's take our break. We're to come back. We've got Lamont Huntley, Lamon Honey coming in. We'll see what Lamon's got on his mind about these air Zonta batles, and I'm gonna compare you and him together. Oh God, stick around for that swash. No Christmas coming up, you know, so whether you guys should be first in line. Come over here in bad mill for you wives or gir you know you wait a minute, Leama,

you know better than to buy treadmill for your wife. Okay, hey, bro, women want to stay healthy so they can take it unhealthy. You're gonna say, hey, I'm just gonna I'm gonna go racial on you here based on my mom. If my if my dad had ever bought my mom a treadmill, you would have if that would have been him telling her she's fat, and she would have left the house. Now nowadays, you're telling them that I love you, I want you to stay healthy so you

could be around for me. Okay, that sounds like a tough I want to make an observation here. I didn't realize you and Jay have something in common, in fact, a very big thing. He doesn't go to a ISSU football games anymore, and neither do you. I was surprised about that. Well, okay, think because we're smart guys. I'm telling you I don't want to be around that crowd. I mean, it's the worst crowd. I mean and and like I said, my last experience, I was

there with my kids when they was very young. My daughter was very young, and I had to basically fight myself out of that crowd. To me, it's not worth it. It's not worth being around those individuals. And it's just just an ugly sight. And and that's all it is. It's not that, you know, as far as I hate a s U or anything of that nature, I just don't like being around that type of environment.

Stay away. Yeah, my you know, my deal Lamont was that you know, the last game I went up there, Willie two Tom was still the quarterback, that's what fifteen years ago, ten years ago, whatever it was, and my dad, like in his late sixties, and a fan wanted to fight him, and there was there was one thing was okay, he wants I don't want my dad to fight him. But then I also didn't want my dad to kill him. And so so you know, the guy had no idea. And and that was the last time I went

to a game up there. Yeah. And so so in my in my day is you know, it's it's better you can sit here and watch it on a big screen TV and you know, see everything, see more of it, and you know, enjoy yourself that way. So how did you enjoy it? Uh? I think Jay was talking about they scored the first touchdown seven zero, and what are you thinking? You're thinking, what, let's not do this? So what are you thinking? You know, I

was impressed at all. I really wasn't. I wasn't pressed at all in regards to what happened on that particular that particular drive, you know, because the reason is we didn't. We wasn't expecting we saw meaning and I don't know the kid's name, number fourteen, the quarterback that was back there, and he wasn't a fricking quarterback. He was an offensive lineman playing quarterback. You know, he was just a big body. You know. He did was just you know, fan of opening it just it just ran up and

down the field. So I don't think the defense was prepare for that. So that kind of threw us off at that point in time. But you notice, you know, as soon as the true freshman got in there and started playing again, we was prepared for that because that's what we gained planned against. Yeah, and when something like that happens, Lamont, I mean it does. I mean even against Look, let's say A was a bad team. Even against a bad team, if you're not expecting them to do

something, they're likely to have some success. I mean that sort of a rule of thumb the Uele game that they played right, and you know, until until they see enough snaps you really can adjust himself to that type of offense. In this case, you know, things could happen that quickly and

fast, and in this case it did. You know, So, like I said, until the kids can adjust themselves and realize and come back with the coaches and let the coaches, let them know what you saw, this is what's happening, this is what we need to do now and and at that point in time, and then I believe later on in the in the

game, they went back to that quarterback situation and we stopped them. Just how did you feel when they were piling on I'm thinking, yeah, I figured Jennal was going to do this because early in the week in his press coverage, I think he has something in mind. And they were up by seven touchdowns whatever it was, and he was still throwing the ball. I wanted seventy plus. Man, I'm sitting there, Get me more, get me more, and keep them out the end zone. That's what I personally

wanted to see. And I was disappointed that we you know, we we kind of you know, took our foot off the pedal in regards to defensively because I think that's basically where they you know, kind of got back into the game, so to speak, because Johnny did make some adjustments and put some backups in there versus keeping the you know, the starters in there. But truthfully, I wanted seventy plus. And I don't know watching TV like Jay and I did you notice when they interviewed Jay, I'm not Jaim.

When the interview Jett putting you in that category and they ended interview Jet, they said something regards to you know, what was going on the score and and his response was yet Tucson would want to see this? Yeah, oh he did? He said that was that during the game. Yeah, he said. They said, I'm like, you know, do you want to

you want to see seventy to seventy? Says? I know, does or something like that, And he was right, you know, I'm sure that that's what their game plan was, you know, to put those numbers up, and you know, and I don't fall them one bit. I would love to see it. So, you know, we saw the stretch of games that they're in and you know, this winning streak that they're on.

Uh, so many reasons why, right you know, Norfelfea, the defense, the way it's stepped up individual guys, and the games that they're having. What sticks out to you the most that maybe kind of hasn't been talked about, mean sort of an under the radar thing going on with this team that maybe you notice as a football player. But Steve and I is just a couple of fact guys sitting here don't notice well, you know, I mean, I mean there's nothing I would say that the naked I would notice

it. But I just I know that they have been putting more time in regards to on the defense end of the ball in the classroom, you know, I just you know, know that because of having a personal relationship with someone. But but but I think that is a big reason why the defense have become who they have become, because not only the coaching staff, but the players too. I mean, the players are in there, they looking at film, they studying him, you know, they looking at tennessee things

that that's taking place, and that's gonna happen and can happen. You know, and you as a player, if you can put yourself in that moment and put yourself in that picture before it happens. It just become a natural movement for you. You know, you see a formation, you see offensive alignment or running back in a certain tennessee, all of a sudden you see that play develop and happen. So it all you do is just react versus thinking. And I think that's that's to me. I think that's the biggest

contribution that has take place defensively. It's probably on offense side of the ball too. But the kids are studying more, you know, they're in the classroom or they're in the in the film studying more. They're getting there early in the morning and late at night, you know, so, I think Jeddy but made a comment in regards to a film study right after the the I think the Utah game. You know, some of the kids got the game and got in the classroom and watch some of the him you know.

So, So if you can get kids to think that way, you know, and do those particular things, you know, the outcome is what it is. So let me ask you a question. I don't know if you can answer, given who you are and your connection to the team, but a couple of days ago, Jay and I were discussing in a couple of people called I've been watching this this team, not not with the surgeon's eye, but have covered them and watched them for thirty five years now. I

don't know if I've seen a better player. And I'm saying this with some reservation, better than T Mac. And I think that eventually, when he's gone, he'll be considered one of the best ones here. He's just got it all to me, you know what. You know what, Steve, I have grown to think that same way with this kid, and over the last few games, I have to think this way with T Mac. I really have my my younger brother and I we we we we got this thing

in regards to watching that kid. At the beginning of the season. You know me personally, I will sit down and put my eyes on him, and I could tell when he's going to get the ball, and he was not going to get the ball because there was a situation where he's not going to get the ball that he would just loaf down the field. And I tell Derek, my my younger brother named Trek, I said, Derek,

he's not getting the ball this step and sure enough he's not. And but over the games he has developed into that every day player now and and and that's way we know. The boy can catch anything that's known at him. I mean, he just grabbing go. But it's the other things that take place that gonna make him and and and I see these things happening to force him to mature into that Sunday football player. And that those things is you play every down, you'd never you know, sit sit back on any stamp

and your block. And he does that. And you don't mind catching the ball going across the middle. You don't short on it. You know, you don't get those who we call alligator arms. So now he has developed into that pro player, and you and and and again he has grown over me, grown on me on the last least the last few games. But at the beginning of the season, I saw those little tendencies that he was

not he was not getting his all effort. But now he is. Don't you think that that's that's that's the type of thing that makes Jed Fish and the coaching staff that he has. That's the thing that maybe they have pushed over the gup that you know, somebody, somebody went up as a look, if you want to be in the NFL, you got to play every play, you know, and and have the ability and not not just the experience, but the willingness to go up and say that to their star players,

say get off your ass and play. Yeah, and and and that's the thing that again, those like you said, those are the type of coaches that you have out there because they've bend at all these different levels as far as of the game, and they've been around pros or pros, so they can tell these kids, I'm telling you for fat Yeah, you know, if you don't do these certain things, you know, the scout's gonna

notice that. And it can be a difference of you being a first round pick or a late round pick, you know, simply because the fact of those you know, little tendencies that you choose not to do and the things you choose not to do to make yourself a pro of a pro. And but yeah, I mean, when you got guys that's you know, Ricky and Jed and you know, and going down the line that's been been at

those levels, you can tell these kids these days, they listen. So I'm gonna say something I think you may have crossed my path early in the season. Uh, you know, Mikey doesn't like this, so you convinced, Yeah, YadA, yeada, you're like everybody else with me. But I was convinced early in the Washington State game. I said, you know, Jonah is unbelievable. These other guys are playing hard to this team is is I'm really liking this team now. It took the Washington State game.

It was a week after the USC game. When did you start believing the USC game? The USC game? When when I when I I saw, I saw the effort, I saw the determination, that saw the drive that those kids was given during that USC game, And and to me, that

was the turning of their whole season. And I think that game is right if that game is the reason why they're in a positionary and today and they got this six and over run right now, as far as beating teams and some of the best teams is they went into that coliseum, you know, and probably wanted the colisseum, thinking that they was gonna get blown out that

college. But they win that Colins and lost left that colinsm with so much confidence to say we can play against the Heisman trophy winner from last year in the candidate this year and do what we do the rest of our schedule is cakewalk. Let's do this interesting. So okay, so I'm gonna ask you this is a little bit of a personal question. Now, No, you know, I've been here one hundred years. I've seen all you guys.

You the linebackers that have come through here. You Ricky Byron Evans, uh, later on guys like Marcus Bell uh uh uh uh, Well Bruski wasn't really a linebacker, he was a defensive yet here. But uh, you know Scooby right, all these guys, Jacob manu does he fit in there somewhere? Is he looking like somebody who may maybe he's still just a sophomore. He'll get in. He'll get into that group of guys. In terms

of the linebackers that have come through here. Uh, you know, you know some of the great ones, you know, a bunch of all Americans and stuff. Where do you see him fitting in? Well? You know, you know, I think he fits the marker quite a few of the guys you just name in regards to the school bees. As far as having a nose for the ball, I mean, the kid does have a nose for the ball. He wants to be around the ball all the time.

He got that instinct as far as finding the football in Creighton turnovers. You know. So I think that's the Scooby Scooby right type of a player that I I can see in him. I can, I mean I can't, you know, really, you know, bear him up with any other players because his body structured did a guy. But but as far as the actual you know, you know, in your face, you know, demeanor and and personality wise, I could see, you know, Scooby in him.

I can see some lands Briggs in him, you know, because he has that he has that linebacker fall back mentality, you know, in regards to I'm gonna meet you on the line of scrimmage and you know, the best man gonna win here, and and and he finds a way of getting his nose and in some cases being small allows him to be get in the position to strike that. You know, some of the offensive line we can't even get to him because of his body size. Of this possy because you get

lost in the line, right, you know. So so I would say a little Lance and a little Scooby, you put those two guys together, you probably got a manue and and he is if he stays here four years, he's by farther gonna be one of our top linebackers that that played here at There's University in terms of tackles, in terms of turnovers, and all of these different things. He might even break ricor record would say with in terms of interceptions for a linebacker, because I think Ricky still has that.

Let me ask you one more thing too, because when we've had you on the last I think it was early in the season, I asked you about Justin Floorda. We asked him about Justin Flohan, and you stunted, kind of wait and see, let's see what this guy does. Let's see what the workers think is and and I kind of think, wow, you're kind of doubting what we see or whatever. But you kind of knew what was

that about? And what did you see since well, well he at the beginning of when they you know, first put Justin and Justin was just a uh a guy running around. I think Justin got to the point where you know, there was there was defenses that was that was you know, placed in front of him that he had to you know, be in his kickle a position, and I call it, here's your door or man your door,

protect your door. And I think Jackson put himself in a situation where he was an assignment ready, you know, so instead of again instinctly playing the game of football, he was thinking too much. He was running around, you know, not knowing where he's supposed to be assignment assignment wise, And I mean you could just look at his demeanor on the field as far as when he's lining up, you know, it looks like he's trying to figure out what's going on, what they do and what I need to do.

At that time. It's too late. You can't do that as a linebacker because I mean, you got to walk on the field instinctly, you see the formation, you see what's going to happen to ball snap, you go right to your assignment and you make it happen. But I think, you know, unfortunate and for whatever reason, I don't know, you know, you know anything special than anybody else know, But me seeing what I see, I think that kid was not assignment ready to be up on the

field and maybe still not. Ye well, he's been you know. I think the defenses they've been running. He's not been out there as much as he was for a period of time, you know, in the middle right here, But here he is, he plugging and playing other people. And they're not even linebackers in case they're they're defensive back. Yeah, they got

seven. So he plugging and played these different players, which again that throws the offense off because now they see something totally different from where he come from. Who is this? Why is the corner playing will blind back? Girl? You know he should be over there somewhere, So it throws them off just as well, you know, kind of kind of like how a issu? But that that offensive tackle playing quarterback against us? Yeah, this must have been a great year. Well, I won't put words talk about the

year. You and your buddies, the X guys who have been longing for a season like this. How do you guys feel? You know what we were actually the beauty of watching the game at home. You get the text with quite a few guys, guys. You know John Balthall, I know

you guys remember that. But John was a defensive alignment for he lives in Texas and John man him and I was, you know, going back and forth as far as you know, uh, you know, talking about the game and how how great it feels to be able to watch something like this, and how probably really are as far as seeing the product that we see and particularly the outcome of the games that we have seen these last few weeks

and stuff. You know, me as a formal player again, I could be as as as proud as I am, you know, watching these kids become winners again, because hey, dude, it was a long, long, long a few seasons and not being part of a winning team and being part of winning organization and finally we're there. I mean, we're finally there, and you know we could walk around with our heads up and be very proud of the product and the kids that's on that field. Put two more

longs in there, I'm pretty sure. Yeah, I didn't want to. I didn't want to. I didn't want to name. You know, the guys that you know put us in this wall. We know who they are, We do know. Thanks them all. Got all right? Well, well y'all going over to the Bowl. Probably not, we're probably Hey, I thought I was going to get a personal invitation. You know, you're probably helicopter. You're going to be mad at this, Lamont I had. I had no inkling that they were going to be in a post Christmas Bowl

game. So I've got a family trip set up that it's it's done. I was thinking, if we go to a ball, we're going to the Independence or the Vegas or the l A ball. I had no plans to go to a between Christmas and years. That's called pulling a loot, you know, setting up the uncle trip because you don't think you can get to the Sweet sixteen. Hey, that's all right, we forgive you this year, but hey it's locked up for next year for sure. Let's see this

if they could, I know we're going along. Uh and I'll ask youaid this because I think it's it's it's appropriate. Uh, this year was supposed to happen next year. This is a year ahead of schedule. Yeah, schedule right, you know. But but the thing is, I mean, Jed just has a way man putting it out there at the universe. He sticks it out there at the universe, and and you know, and and

naturally he worked his butt off to make sure it comes to real. But man, I just I mean, I just love the way they place it out there. And and give us, you know, give these kids some real goals to go after and capture these goals. And and here it is. I mean, it's some good stuff, all right, Thanks again, Lamon, appreciate right, guys, y'all be bladed? Thank you? No, that was good Lamon. I love Lama. Yeah, he knows that

we were. Frank, Let's get out of here real quick, and we'll come back and take your calls for a few minutes, and uh, they'll stick around. If you're an Arizona men's basketball fan, you'd know it's been successful for nearly forty years. Now take a look back at the Ludolsen era

This is I on the Ball on Fox Sports fourteen to fifty. Hey, welcome back to I'm the

Ball here on Fox Sports, QUTU and fifty on Steve Ja. We've got our guy Kevin dancing up the store here. I'll get intro music nine minutes now for the day. Do you guys want to get this call? Please do? I don't think we've gotten the call today. Now be a really busy business. It flew by today, did Yeah, you're not going to be here tomorrow. Not be here tomorrow, but I will send in my picks for for Kevin to to announce to the masses so that they can go

bet on the opposite teams. Yeah, what do you think about some of these games? Though I haven't I haven't looked at it. I haven't looked at it. The big game is the Washington Oregon is here. If I were, if I were a betting man, I would take Oregon. But

that's a lot of points. That's nine and a half. Yeah, if anything, I should have done this way before when I when Arizona, when Oregon lost to them first time, and I said, the organ is gonna beat them whenever they play the next time it was been it would have been

a better bet. Yeah, but uh, I really like Oregon. I know you still like Washington, but not to maybe when well see, yeah, I mean I have mixed feelings about the one, you know, about the game tomorrow, because I want to take Washington because I believed in Washington all season long, right, you know, I believed in Michael Pannix. They're undefeated. They beat Oregon. Yes, it's hard to beat the same you know, a team twice and that game was that at you know,

in Washington, and they won by three. But you know that's a lot of points. It's ten now the points are minus ten things. Yeah, yeah, So I don't know, you know, looking at looking at you know, who's you know, who's who's done what against the points spread? Organs eight and three against the spread. I'm trying to find Washington, I think, the way down on the list because because they they you know, they didn't win games by a lot over the last you know, the last

half of the season. I mean, they won all their games, but they weren't killing people. And I mean and they probably should have lost to uh to a s U if it wasn't for that passing their France call. Washington went five and seven against the spread. So you know, do you know, okay, you know who one of the teams with the best record against the spread is right, Arizona nine and two. Guess who also has a nine and two record against the spread? Would you know this? Would

you know nine and two? Gus give me a hit? I should. They're in the West, not air Force there. I'll even say they're west of the Rockies. Uh no, Stafford, I don't know U n l V. Oh. Yeah, and I haven't paid much of nine and two against the spread. I guess why. But you picked they did? They were nine and one when I picked him and then did not cover. They lost. Yeah, I remember that one. Because you can't write, you can't make this stuff up. You know, the dark boards, the big

dark board. Yeah, so he's eliminated a lot of numbers. He's only got like two teams because everything else is off the boards. All right, okay, so guess who's next? Steve, You've got a connection to this school in New Mexico State. Yeah, they're eleven and two. They're they're pretty good. They played Liberty the seven point, which which I bet them the first game they played the Don Brown Yeah, and Don Brown came in and they came and beat him right, which I said, I'll never touch

that. And then they went off and beat Auburn, right, yeah, huge, and an Auburn player blights out and almost beat it should have been Alabama. And that's the problem I have. Not that it's a problem I have. I could care less, but the committee. Okay, you watch a team, You watch a team, and you watch them that day when they're not so good, and it's that game that they're not so good. You catch them against Sanford, you think, yeah, and then and yeah,

and then they win their last six games in a row. Who thought that that was gonna happen after watching them against Stanford. Yeah, you catch them on a bad time and you see him against Colorado. These guys aren't that good. Yeah, and guess who's guess who's next? Friend of ours? A friend of ours? Uh? Utah, the show? I guess I would call a friend of the show. Uh uh who Rich Roy? Yeah? Yeah, yes, and he just got beat by New Mexico stake

Yeah yeah, six and two against the spread. They Now, these these games don't count against you know, we don't count spreads against f c S teams, so these are all you know, FBS FBS games. And then James Madison, after that crazy numbers up there, let's take this call. It's Richard. Hey, Richard, how you doing great? Man? Hey? Uh, I wanted to call real quickly, just uh wish the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Uh, you know who got into the Big Tech Championship game

because of bad call. I would to wish them, uh, best of luck against the Texas Steerhorns. Hey, hot down there in that Arlington. How did Oklahoma State's coach become the Big twelve coach of the year. It was probably that interference call they missed against in the game. Steve, you know, put him over the top. Uh No, that's good for good. I'm happy for him. That's fine. You know, he he deserves He's been around for a long time. I didn't know he'd won it.

Yeah, I heard. So that's probably giving the fingers to this Circasian because he was living in one. Yeah. Well, I think if he had an injections what you were injecting with the personality might have uh, all sudden he turned into game. Yeah, Texas, I understand. You know they don't have a fight song, do you. You might know what Texas fight song is, but I understand that they're going to the SEC that got a

new song. It's it's a dueling ban Jos from the movie Deliverance. Okay, we got the implication with the Infra and that would be their new song heading on down into Dixie. But anyway, Ali Gordon runs for two hundred yards Saturday, and I think he will. Okay, it should be fun. All these games are great. I mean it's gonna be a great Yeah. Great, this this season has been a real celebration, isn't it. I mean, this is fantastic this year. I'm glad. You've just been

a wonderful year. And I'm so frill for the for Arizona. Yeah, I'm going but Oklas, Hey, what what what about? It is on a plane? Your sooner than the How would you like that? Oh? I think it'd be a great game, you know. I think that's a really good matchup. Yeah, and you know, you know Arizona, I think we'll have the psychological edge and that if not even the better team. So we'll see what happens. As soon as you're going to dress, I mean, they've got a lot of talent. So do they still have the

running backs coach? That was here? He was a Dallas Cowboy running back and then yeah, DeMarco Murray yeah. Is he still with Oklahoma, Yes, and we just we just moved Cepha Trail to the offensive coordinator position after Jeff Leeve he took the Mississippi State job. Yeah, former Arizona guy. Yeah, yep, yep, and former Sooner. But anyway, you know, good luck them Cowboys. Well I know I'm rooting. I know I'm rooting for him because I don't want I don't want Texas moving up ahead of

his day in Oregon or something like that. So no, exactly, no, we want the Pac twelve really deserves somebody being the championship playoffs. I mean it's in the final four. Okay, year of all time out here, man, it's been fantastic in a while. Hey, Richard, thanks aboutch man. I appreciate the away. Thank you. Richard's a good caller. Some of a Gabe there for a second. Okay, all right, well that look, it's been fun. I loved I loved the interview we

had with Paula. Boy, that was that was awesome. If you're just getting into the show listening to the Latin, didn't catch the first hour, go catch that if you got some curious, you know, curious about how the college football playoff committee works. She gave us a lot of good information in there. I think you'd like to hear that now, you know. She wasn't commenting on who should get in this year and who should not, But you got, as we said, we got behind the curtain over there,

and I thought that was some good stuff that we got. We got from Paula. So right on. Our two was with Tounley from Lamont. Always good, fun, fun conversation with Lamont. Yeah, I love the fact that he doesn't go upcase you games either. Yeah I heard that and I think, you know, well I didn't know why and then obviously now I know why. But you guys have the same kind of story. Yeah, yeah, so yeah, similar stories. But anyways, there was a lot of U Way fans. It was about sixty forty yell no they go,

they go. I don't know, but there is you guys weren't gonna go because then you this was a possibility, right right. It's just you know, and again there's still a lot of people that go. And if you're if you've never been to one, and it's you know, it can be fun. It's just I had a bad experience and I don't go back to places where I had bad experiences, right, isn't that Isn't that like a really smart thing to do once you know? Yeah, so that's what

he does. A lot of teams are doing. Yeah, there's been a lot of teams giving me bad experiences all year long and until until next year when you have the fresh start of the season. Only five more weeks, Steve, Only five more weeks and I can end this madness. It's just been so bad this year. Oh my god, I'm okay with it. I can't wait for it to end. I'm okay with it. Okay, all right, Well then let's clear out. Well, you'll be back tomorrow,

Steve, and we'll be back tomorrow. I won't be back tomorrow. We'll be here Monday, and we'll be we'll be crashing down on Bowl games. I've heard there's gonna be a jetfish zoom on Sunday after they get their bold assignment, So we'll have all of that on Monday. But you guys will be here tomorrow kick it around, So have fun. M M.
