Steve Bravera and Jacin Salves. They have their Eye on the Ball on Tucson Sports Stage Sat, Fox Sports fourteen fifty. Heay, welcome back to I the Ball here on Fox Sports fourteen fifty. I'm Steve, He's Jay, and now we have Ryan with breaking news. This is Eye on the Ball breaking news on Fox Sports fourteen fifty. Right. Starting with University of Arizona baseball, got a couple of commitments to talk about. The first one is

former Stamford outfielder Aaron Watt. Walton has committed to play for Arizona. I believe he also is a pitcher as well. All right, can never have enough pitching. Sixty three to sixteen right handed picture, and he's got some power as well. He had he hits. He hits as well. Oh, okay, see, as a sophomore with the Bulldogs, he had nine home runs, three more than any You have a righty b along with thirty six RBIs and fifteen for fifteen and stolen base attempts. Wow, all right,

that's like a good one. I think. Let's see, I think they're Arizona's losing a couple of pictures next year. I know Jackson Kent is expected to go to the draft, and then there's a couple of I think I think they either win. I think they lose all three of their starters, don't they I think they're losing all three. I think Candy I don't work, Candya and uh the cam Walty, I think they're all gone. No, cam Walty's I think was a sophomore. But I think Candyaty's gone.

Let's see, there was three pictures that are Candyaddy looks like he can pitch in the majors. So yeah, you know, if he's he hasn't already decided to go, he needs to decide soon. Yeah, that's a good pick up for for Arizona. Definitely can use the Yeah, the pitching and the and the hitting as well, exactly. The other commitment is Hunter alb Alberini. He is he's committed to. Okay, where's he from? I'm not really sure? Okay, all right, like this this happened,

I think like a like a week ago. All right, see how they do next year, go back to let's go to the NBA draft. We know that what's his name? She forgot his name? Bonnie James Johnson and Larson Larson. Thank you. Wow, we know that he got You're really you're too young to not be able to remember that you're getting you're catching our disease. Yeah, I've been here too long, so palla Larson. We

know he got drafted. We got attracted by the Heat. And then some news came out after the draft ended that Kishaw Johnson has signed a two way deal with the Heat as well as that came from Chums apologize Palaye t shot. Going to the same place doesn't sound good the well, yeah they're yeah, they're probably going after the same spot. Right, we'll see what happens. Yeah, Okay, who's got the better chance of sticking? Probably? Really, why do you say that? He does more? Does more?

He's good, he can handle the ball as good as Johnson is athletically, It's it's a different league. I don't think either we're gonna stick. But I've told you this a thousand times. I know that it's tough. Man, This is tough. Somebody's got a stick, No, because there's other players I know, but that's what I'm saying. They you know, I mean good luck. Like so it's like, you know, every game, somebody's got to win. You know this is not between both of them,

because there's gonna be more people on the roster. Yeah, maybe maybe he'll do well enough that maybe somebody else. I think one of them makes. I think one of them makes a roster Okay, I couldn't tell you. I'm not gonna say which one, but I think I think one of them does. I think the league starts a couple of weeks as well. No, no, the it's the summer league. Summer League. Yeah, so they'll both be being playing in the Miami Orlando League. Probably in the maybe

in Vegas. I don't know if they play in Vegas, but they play in the Orlando League. We'll see. It's not a lot of fun to watch. Sticking with the NBA draft, Uh, BRENNYE. James, he's he's been drafted. He's gonna play with his dad over on the Lakers. That's automatic. It's an automatic roster spot. I think so. Because he's not playing the G League. That's no. They said no G league or

two way contract for him. In the world of demand, if it was, if it was Jagan Zalez six foot six, two hundred pound guard and had the same skills as Brownie James, I guarantee you Jagan Zawiz would not have been drafted, right, correct, Steve Rivera whomever? Yeah, No, you're right, No, you're right. I mean he got drafted because of his dad, and he'll stick. He's no two way contract, he said, unless they say, well, why else would they do it?

I mean, why else would they only Lakers waste to draft if not to get him on the roster and and and make this happens at him at the end of the bench over there. Yeah, well, life is did anybody tell you life is fair? Well, it's gonna be. JJ Reddick is gonna have to deal with that exactly. That's why that job is the No. One situation. Who's the boy, who's the coach? JJ Reddick? Who's the coach? Oh Lebron James? Yeah, wow, okay, assistant coach Marty James, assistant coach J. J. Reddick? All right?

Also that that'll be the first my father son duo in the NBA. Yeah, yeah, the next part of the whole charm at least, you know, so switch over to m will be a little bit of news for the Arizona Diamondbacks. Zach Gallon is expected to return this weekend against the A's Where's he been? He went on there, he went on the fifteen day. I l had hamstream. It's not an arm thing. So he just threw sixty seven pitches in a simulated game on the twenty fourth, and he's got

a bullpen session tonight. But he's expected to return this weekend to the ball club, and then Alec Thomas Alfielder also expected to return either this weekend or possibly at the beginning of July. He had a string of left hamstring. So hopefully those guys can kind of come back and maybe help to be back to a little bit. I know, Jay's not Japans. He didn't really care about Yeah, excuse those guys. Well, yeah, I don't know if you're going to bring this up. At that video of oh yeah,

yeah, of sho Hey Otani nearly getting killed by a line drive. You see that. So a FA ball into the dugout and it was headed right at Otani's head and he was he was looking, but he had nowhere to go and a bat boy got it bare handed. I'll check that basically saved his life. I mean it was like show hees needed to buy him a car or something. Uh, it's an incredible video. He just got it with two hands, right, like, no big deal here, he caught

it and then handed him the ball. But it's you know, and Joe Hate was ducking and he had a helmet on, so yeah, I saw it. But I mean it was headed right at him and and the kid got it. And I love the kid didn't like you know, Ray, you just like got it. Here, here's the ball and gave it to somebody else. Right before that, any actually set a record marking his tenth straight game home run accord an RBI. That's a new Dodger record, Dodger. Yeah, I just I'm just watching that. So you got to set

a record. And then he almost got in the head by a laser beam. That's all I have. Okay, yeah, I had one. And this is from from here. Uh. Nancy Evans, when was the last time you heard that? Yeah? Yeah, I hadn't heard that anything. While she's now the new pitching coach at Ole, miss Wow. That's uh, isn't that Taron Mowatt's old jobs Mississippi State? She's a Mississippi State Okay? Oh wow, all right, I heard Nancy Evans name in a long

time. Yeah, I know somewhere right, Yeah, so interesting. Yeah, no, I you know, one of the great ones at Arizona, but kind of disappeared. You're right. I mean she had that she had that job here for a while, so I don't know, many years ago. Okay, let let's talk about the Bronnie James thing, because I really want to dig into this just a little bit. I mean, I understand you got a guy like lebron and your you know, on your team,

in your camp. He means everything to that franchise. Yeah, you know, if it's gonna make him happy, I guess do you do it or not? I mean, what do you think I'm gonna be guys on the team pissed off for Brownie James is on the team. That's the funny thing. That's the funny thing because the first thing I thought of was Caitlin Clark, and I don't know how I associated, but you know the treatment that she got in the league, right, and she'll still get in it.

I guarantee you Ronnie James, he won't be getting it. He won't be getting it because he's protected, you think. So he's protected by his dad on the team and his dad from other players from the league. There's no one that's gonna bully you don't think you don't think. No. And he's gonna catch an now in the back of the head. Maybe maybe, but not not, not really. No, he's protected every which way. So what is Lebron gonna do? Beat up everybody who does something to his kid?

Yeah, but he's not gonna have to because it's not gonna happen. I don't think it's gonna be as as intense as the Kimon Clark stuff. I mean, I think what he gets out there, I think he's there's gonna be some guys out there who are gonna want a little something. I don't know. I don't think so. I don't think so because he's just protected. Yeah, why why even do it? What's the point? What's the purpose for fun? No? No, this is different. For the

hell of it is the hell of it, it won't happen. If it does, well, well, well I'll be the first to say that. Okay, here we are. But I don't think it's going to This is not gonna be a pool thing. A pool thing from the from the Warriors, because he talked a lot of crap. They just didn't like him. He touched a lot of happened and what's his name slugged him because you talked

a lot of crap. And you know, I want to have you heard from him since nothing because they exiled into Washington, all right, I don't know. And if you're brownie, it's like when he was here and everybody bowed him, he had nothing to do anything. But that's what I'm saying, right, That's exactly what I'm saying, is that there's people who are going to resent him, sure, and want to show him what's what, just because he got drafted only because his dad got him craft who looks petty

in that situation. The people who are bitter about it, well, good luck. That's fine. It's not on him. I'm okay with petty once in a while. I know you. Yeah, that's Jacob's olence. But for him, I mean, who does he apologize to? No? Right, I mean, look, does he deserve it that treatment? No? No, no, But neither does Caitlin Clark. And she's getting it. No, that's just the way it is. That's just the way she doesn't

have her mom or dad. That's just the way things are. That there are gonna be some guys who are gonna want a little piece of Ronnie get an opportunity just won't happen because his dad's right there. If he wants to go to a different team, maybe that would be the case. But he's gonna be at the Lakers. It's not gonna happen in the house. That's for damn sure. It's not gonna happen in because Bronnie would say, get that dude out of here, get that dude out. I agree with that,

and nobody. Yeah, if you're if you're a Laker player, yeah, you're not doing anything. If you're if you're a Laker player and you're that stupid to you know, do something like that, then you're too stupid to be in the If you're play from somebody else, what's the point. I mean, come on, he may not even play that much anyway. Yeah, probably, Steve. There's never a point winning. Yeah, for you petty people, I mean, there's never a point to the you know,

the hazing that goes on, and so it's all stupid. It ain't gonna happen. It's all stupid, but it happens. It's not gonna happen it won't happen. It's too much, too much at stake for the guys. And and then what's the point he's we we all know the obvious. I mean, he's harmless, exactly right, exactly, he's harm he's not hurting you, and he's and he's not and he's not gonna be Yeah, he's not gonna be in there, you know, with the game on the

line, hitting the three from the corner. He's not. So yeah, in that regard, he'll probably never be in a situation where the intensity on the court justifies. But I still see somebody say I'm taking my shot at you just because I don't see it. I see it when Lebron's gone by that time he's if he's still in the NBA, he's a player. At my point, there's no reason to do it. Well, okay, but I see it more happening when he's gone than not when he's not. When

he's there. Just my thought, Okay, well, yeah, you know, I I think there's somebody out there's a couple of guys, more than a few, more than I think more than a few. There might even be one on every team that wants to and wants to take a little shot at it. You still need to read that l s U coach. Sorry, you'll see a lot of you and her. I'm serious, you need you need to read the story. I don't dress like her though you don't

know, you don't just like. But there's a lot of chickens. A coach not saying you brought that up again, I'm gonna have to go back and you have to dig it up and read it. Oh my god, all right, I don't know. Well, I'll tell you what though. People are gonna be watching. People gonna be watching, of course, just to see, you know. And by that, I don't mean they're gonna sit there and watch every Lakers game, but I think people are gonna be

paying attention. Pet is Brownie getting the business, you know, and you know, whenever he's in a game. Uh and and you know, and then if somebody does give him the business, what happens to that person? His dad come and beat him up? Now play in Siberia? Does the NBA do something right? Does a guy do something to Brony and the next day he's cut? Now playing in Siberia? Whatever appetute voice and the Jili? Yeah? So uh oh man, it's gonna be fun. All right,

Fox Sports fourteen fifty streaming live on the iHeartRadio. Wap Hey, welcome back to mying the ball here on Fox Sports fourteen fifty I'm Steve Rivera. He's Jigen Sauce. Now on the phone. We have a father of the bride, the Mont. Honey, how's that sounds? How's that sound? The month that was also ato. I tell you you know, if you guys never done it, it's one of the greatest things in life to be experiencing. And you know, just like like having your babies for the first time,

but they've grown ladies now. But yeah, it was beautiful. Wow. When when was this Lamont? It was Saturday, Wow, twenty second, twenty second. And my youngest daughter, Devin, she was a almost sock a player here in Tucson and she played at Utube also, and she ended up marrying a young young man here from Tucson, from South Point High School. I've been knowing him since he's been a kid, and he played football at South Points named Taylor Powell, playing back there and played it in

a youth Congratulations. It was awesome. It was a beautiful day for everybody, right all right? Oh no, my inmitation got lost in the manica. No no, no, no, but your your your invoice didn't get importantly alright, good one. I'm glad to realize you got it. Okay, good, thanks, Let's talk Let's talk football. Let's talk football. Is it too early for talk football or or not? Or you can always

talk football? Yeah, I mean I think I think you know, when you when you have change of the guard and you know, changers players and coaches. I mean, I think the game of football stays around twenty four to seven now. I mean, he's a yearly sport. They all activity that takes place, and and that has been a lot of activity going on

over there at that at that football operation, for sure. What's your sense of just, you know, just the mood around the program, right, I mean, we as fans have this mood that you know, some great seasons coming up, you know, and all that stuff. But you know, just the feeling around the program, how the coaches and how they've been accepted, and the players, how they're doing with the coaches and all that kind of stuff. What's your sense of it? Well, my major sense

of it is that I don't think it lost to beat. I think I think as far as from the coaching change itself, I think it actually may have elevated itself because it has transformed itself back to some of the ways of the you know, some of the previous coaches and coach Tony of course in coach Phields. I mean, so a lot of those things that you know, Jed did, Brandon and his herst year are still there. But you're

also dealing with coaches that coached under these coaches. So you know for sure, you know that culture and that attitude is going to come with it because you know, they knew what coach Tomi was all about because they worked for him. Yeah. So now you watched like the recruits, I'm sure you do. Uh, he's doing a fantastic job. Are He's getting them in this early? Yeah, you know they The thing that amazed me is the

type of kids he's bringing in here. I think he's bringing in coachable kids, kids that want to come out here and learn the system and learn the you know, the Arizona way and learn you know, of course coach Brennan's

way. I met. I was fortunate to meet a few of the kids that that has came in on recruiting trips like particularly the last weekend, quite a few was up at Lapa Loma, and we had an opportunity to meet a few of them, and and they are kids that you want in this community, very polite to you know, good looking kids too as far as the body structures in the size. And I think some of these these players that he's bringing in here and step in and plug in and hopefully make some

action for for for us, real quickly and fast. But what do you think was the most important thing Brennan had to do to make sure that, you know, there was a comfort level for the players? Right? All these players who stayed and you know, took a chance on him. Uh, you know, and you know who we're talking about, right, the guys that could have gone somewhere else and could have done well somewhere else, they decided to stay. What do you think Brent Brennan had to do to

make them comfortable that they made a good decision to stay. Well, I think the number one thing he did was he showed them that, you know, we're going to stay with this family, added to a family culture that was already established, you know, I mean it's a family thing. I mean I think he's letting you know, the key core guys that did stay, letting them touch these players is coming into these recruiting trips and from the transfer portal and true message in regards to you know what, this is our

team. This team belongs to us, you know, and we're a family unit. I mean we do everything together. We buddies together, we go to movies together, we do this together. You know the things that you do that you know to create that family environment. You know, that family environment was those core kids. And I think Brennan he stepped up and let them, that core group of guys, let them know, you know,

this is your team. You know, this is your team. This is opportunity for you guys to make something special for yourself within the walls of this University of Arizona. And I think they will for I mean for years to come for the story that they just started this first chapter in their life. I mean this could be a mayful movie type of football story here for what these kids has done. Wow, that's pretty strong. You you feel that

they're the next season with the Big Twelve. I'm sure you're looking forward to it because Jay and I totally say that if there's a move, it's a great move because they have a chance of winning the league more so than they had a chance in the Pac twelve. Scus it does favor us and in a lot of ways in regards to first and foremost the teams that's coming into

Tucson that we're going to play against. And it also favors on the roll a little bit because we're not, you know, playing some of the top teams is in it in the Big twelve right now, So and and and I think, you know what, with the momentum we we had coming from that Bowl game in San Antonio, I mean that momentum is going to continue to to grow with us and go with us, and it's going to carry on. I mean, I mean, I'm you know, I'm here to

tell you I think we're gonna win eight to nine games. I think we can easily win eight to nine games and and basically qualify for a very you know, nice Vogue game going into next year. And and those are things I look forward to because you know, I mean, the nucleus of the offense is there, the offensive line is there, and god, these running backs, these these coaches brought in. You know, I don't think we're gonna miss a beat with with with Wiley leaving and and Jonah Coleman going to

Washington, I think I think that room will be very healthy. What will there be any issues though with the transition, you know, just to you get into a game, right and things are going to be different, you know, with this coaching staff than they were with the last coaching staff, no matter what, even if they're doing pretty much the same thing as so, maybe terminology might be different, the way guys come in and out of the game might be different, how a pregame is handled might be different.

Does any of that take getting used to or can it affect how they do? Maybe even early in the season, right they're going to go to Kansas State, It's going to be a tough game, a tough place to play if things are going a little haywire, the fact that they haven't been there, you know, with this coaching staff in a situation like that, can things like that, you know, come to fruition and be an issue or do you think going in everybody kind of knows where everybody needs to be.

Yeah, I mean that naturally it can become an issue. I mean because there's a lot of unknowns. I mean, hell, coach Brennan can get out there and freak out. We don't know, you know, and those kids don't they don't know if he if he freaks out, how do you react to that? Yeah, I mean, I'm just saying that, but I don't think that's going to take place. But I think a lot of the things Jade that does take place to place these kids in the position from

day from the first snap of the ball. All of that happens during spring ball. All of that happens during summer camp and when they get into camp. All of those things that you're speaking of, these these untangibles that you're speaking on, those things are always worked on at that point in time.

Man, they work in all those situations, so it could become a natural snap for them versus it's an unknown you know, when you get out there and you know, and the coaches know the hostile situations that take place, you know, you know inserting, inserting stadiums and sing school. So they bring that hostile situation during practice. You know, if it's loud noise and may they'll blow that place up where that that's that that's that they kind of

duplicate that. So whatever those things that may take place, all that stuff is going to be practiced so the kids can react to it and already you know know what to do because they've seen it. Have you been a player for a long time and you observe it for a long time, how much does the spring practice and the four month layoff until the next practice have do you do? You remember that stuff? What is it? The impact?

But I don't think at this point there's no layoff of these kids, because now, when I was in school, we did lay off, trust me. So as soon as spring ball was on, I was back in Virginia somewhere, or I was in on the beach in Mexico or something like that. But these kids, it's not like that no more. I mean they would they may take a week off, but they're back here in town. They're back in here working out with the themselves and working out in the weight

room per se. So there's really no down time for for for these kids, you know, and and thank god, in a couple of weeks, you know, they're gonna be hitting this thing up again with the coaching staff. So it's it's a whole different way of football these days in time, you know, since the dinosaur days when I was playing, and you know, so so these kids around the clock football guys. So what I got from that is, why were you a slacker. Wait, because that was

the culture at that time. You know. Hey, hey, I was a product of my environment. You know, you're right, You're right, because it's it's it's do it stop, come back and do it again? Right, yes, right, exactly, Well I thought that was the right thing to do. How things have changed? Okay, Steve said, you're a player and and been a observer for a long time going to the Big twelve? Are there any places that Arizona fans need to understand are just going

to be so much different? I mean, tough places to play, tough environments to go into. Maybe a city that you go into and you go, god, I really don't you know, I mean those kinds of things where the road, Yeah, what are we doing? What is your what are your opinion of some of the places they are going to be going to? Well, and I know Cincinnati is not a fun place to go, period. And depending on what time of the year you go back there,

it's going to be cold. Yeah naturally. West Virginia. Hey, those guys that those fans really get crazy, you know, because the only thing to keep the one is the alcohol, you know, So I mean that is going to be and and and that's the only you know, similar to

Tucson. But but they they are there, and they packed that stadium back there in West Virginia, you know, so and that those are those gonna be some hostile environments as far as on a on a on a fan perspective, as far as a player looking in the stand and say, wow, I haven't seen this before, because I don't think particularly this this team, and and the teams maybe the last ten years haven't gone into an environment such as what they're about to go into. And you know, so it is,

it's going to be a little hostile form. And and I could say that's all in the in the preparation of the coaching staff that make sure that they're prepared in regards to what the people are gonna say to them, you know, and what they might be doing at them and all these different things. You're gonna be prepared for those moments. And and you just you know, I've seen it. I've done it. I ignored and played the football game, you know, and and I you know right now I lacking this

thing. Is when I was playing ball, we went to L s U and played down in the l and that was the craziest facility ever seen in my life at all levels of the game I played. Playing in l s U was crazy. It was just a madhouse. And you got and the other things that we got to worry about too, And we got to prepare for, not worry about. It's to humidity. Now we're going to places where there will be more humidity playing until it, you know, and so

we got to prepare for that and get our body ready for that. And that's something that trainer's got to make sure the kids are prepared that way with their bodies. Central Florida. Man, hold on, we got to call. We gotta call West Virginia. It's Bubba on the line to you about drinking the game. Keep in mind and keep in mind, Steve, I'm close to that state. Yeah. See he can say that because he's from over there. Sorry, you don't want to talk to you. Yeah,

I forgot. I forgot. You're on the team that went to uh went to l s U. Uh. Okay, that was my senior year. Lu. I mean I'm going into note to day was tame going versus going to the LSU. Bro Okay, have a forty a forty year old question? Forty year old question, why the hell didn't why the hell didn't Larry let Max try that field goal at the end of that game LSU game. Yeah, remember you guys were down well, you were down town. No

no, no, that was too far, that was too far. What lost that game for it was our dumb offense, you know, our offense. And right after the I think I had like thirty five tackles because we stayed on the field and uh and I and I was I just ran into advance of Johnson's just and mean, I tried to choke him. He from the ball twice. Yeah, you know, it was just crazy, man, And they just put us in bad situation offensively. So the defense just stayed out there. Yeah, but you guys had a chance to win that

game. I remember that. Oh we did well, we did and said Allan Durden got touchdown, touchdown. It was like or something. Yeah, but the one one day that got us the work. Actually we did give up a punt return and I think the kid name was the Healer. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, run it back. So well, Thank you bunch, proud father. Yeah man, congratulations to that awesome thank you. Ok. Yeah, I got a big grin on my face and she made me cry. Yeah, very cool. What's about you,

man? Thanks Lamon? All right, guys, I'll be bleased we're talking. Thank you one of the great guys. Lamont. Yeah, he's just what his daughter got married over the weekend. Hey, l s U. I went for basketball a couple of times. Scariest place I've ever been. I'm not joking. He's exactly right. And I was just a reporter in the building. Yeah, it's it gets a little two days. Yeah, well that game is there is not fun. That was that game that you

know when Mike two sticket his team there. We thought about going and then you know who told us we shouldn't go, Doc Hopkins. Yeah, he said, you guys don't want to really don't want to go? No, No, it was it was scary for me and I was just watching the game. Yeah, he said, you guys really don't want to go. Yeah, all right, okay, let's take our break word and come back. What Ryan will us today? That's too Ryan. Let's today got fifteen minutes, give us a call five to two, four one, six,

seventy four forty. What do you got, Jacob Okay. So I was looking over this thing with with Sunday ticket and the lawsuit. First of all, anybody who's sitting there thinking I got money coming, you know, ye hits a loss. It's a long way off. Well it's not even now. We don't even know how much. It was four point seven billion dollars in damages for resident for the residential class, ninety six million for the

commercial class. It covers two point four million residential customers forty eight thousand businesses. Now, this lawsuit actually began nine years ago in twenty fifteen, it got dismissed and then it got reinstated by an appeals court. So this very the NFL and DirecTV both said they're going to appeal this, so this is

years away from being resolved. But as I said, essentially it was that the claim was that the NFL and DirecTV violated anti trust laws by selling the Sunday ticket package at an inflated price because they it was theirs and they they were able to do that in the NFL's position was that their anti trust exemption allowed them to do this, so that that was the argument. But a

jury, a jury ruled against the the NFL. So now they're saying that, you know, the NFL has said and Direct TV said they're going to appeal. It says right here payment this is from an ESPN story, payment of damages. Any changes to the Sunday ticket package and or the ways the NFL carries it Sunday afternoon games would be stayed until all appeals have been concluded. So nothing's going to happen until this thing gets resolved. And you know, the direct TV in the NFL aren't going to say, okay, were

all right, we'll pay the four point seven billion dollars. We're good. And then there's something in here that says, since damages can be tripled under federal antitrust laws, the NFL could end up being liable for fourteen point three to nine billion. But they're not going to let that happen. So we'll see what we'll see what happens. But anyways, we're a long way from anybody, you know, getting their two or three dollars that they might get

as a Direct TV subscriber. I feel like I get a little more coming because I was a I've been a subscriber since the outset, so I guess it directly came out or a Sunday Ticket started in nineteen ninety four. I didn't realize well long ago it had been that long. But I have had it the whole time. So anyways, do you have YouTube TV? No, you know, so can you buy that? You can buy You can buy Sunday Ticket just on YouTube. Now that's why I bought it. That's

I bought it. Last year, I split and I split it with my brother. So because you can have you can have two to two streaming services to TV two TV's at the same time, you know. Uh, so we we uh you know, we split it and he watches it and it's fine. It worked fine for us last year, you know, I mean, I had we were in California during part of the NFL season. We you know, we got to watch watch the games over there. So it's streams and it's fine and it works fine. Okay, so let me go

to the you know and see the draft and the play basketball. So you were at the round four, I was at the final four. Gave me a chance to see the Yukon Huskies play with so many good players, right, and their center pretty good player. Yeah, I thought he was very good cleaning cleaning. What did you think of it? You know? Well, the whole team was really good. And he held his one against you

too, right, and he played very well. So if you're DeAndre and you a little scared he's going to Portland, Oh I didn't know that, Yeah, d Deandrean's got to get off his ass and play hard to be a really good player. And that's my point, and that's good point. He's one of those guys that has all the physical tools. The thing about it, Jay, is we're judging a dude. We're judging a dude like we judged the son of a gun. My point is going to go to

crap, no hands back in at Stokes. It's at Stokes. He's seven foot one, seven foot two, very built like a rock, you know, but just didn't want to play basketball, you know, and and and and DeAndre fantastic skills, talented than But my point is, what if you're just that dude and you just you don't feel like I just don't feel like it. And and now people so the Phoenix Suns saw that and maybe now Portland because they got this guy coming in. Well, the fact that they

drafted Donovan Klingon tells you my point. What they think, that's my that's my point. The thing about it, You and I go ahead, go ahead, Oh we got a call her. Let's take this hire on the air and on the ball. Hey Jay, Hi, Steve, what's done is done? Right? Yeah? Yeah, what's up, Steve? You now with with Brownie James. It's not gonna get physical with him, But when he gets a foul or he misses a shot, he's gonna get chirped on so bad by the it's gonna be. But it's gonna be. What's

the matter. We'll tell your papa. Whenever he gets fouled, he and he complains about it. Who will tell you, papa? Who are you getting this trips from? The The players are the stands, the players, they think right, the stands, the players. The fans are gonna hate him outside of LA and even in l A they're gonna You know, the thing is is is the slots for the American players is diminishing as the years go by because they change the NBA, the NBA isn't American basketball anymore.

It's international basketball. And so now you know there was only what twelve guys on a roster. How many are Americans anymore? So he's taking a valuable spot that I think people are going to take an offense to. Yeah, well that that was my point about players in his own locker room, right, they are going to say, wait a minute, why is this guy here? And why am I sitting on the end of the bedroom. Why is he going to the game. Well, we don't know if that's gonna

because he's not gonna be good enough for that to happen. I think I think his playing time is going to be minimal because he's still gonna have to prove himself. You can't be a total and complete liability. And the thing is is Lebron's gonna go out and fight people for his kid. He cries like a baby when he doesn't even get fouled. No, so so there's you know, they don't even touch him, and he's crying like like like he just got a he needs a liver transplant after that shot that he didn't

get. So I I really don't think you know, this is this whole thing. It's gonna be bad for him. It's gonna be bad. It's not gonna be visible on the on the TV unless you get a hot mic on the court and you hear somebody, you hear it and you hear another player chirping. Now because they're not gonna have to get physical with him. It doesn't have to get physical. He can stay in the mental and it's just gonna be chirping. It's gonna and it's gonna be what are you doing

here, dude? You don't even belong here? Yeah, well, should have stayed at USC. Well, he needed to go somewhere else to well that that the whole situation is so complicated because have you gone anywhere, he'd get the same grief. You gotta agree on USC just for being the sun. It's it's hard because Lebron instead of letting the kid make his own way, right like Jordan's. Jordan's kids were never you know, they were. He had a son that was a D one basketball player. And guess what,

you know what if you're D one, you're pretty good. Yeah there that that's nothing to sneeze at. But to to force feed your kid into the n B A that just that just makes lebron look even even worse. In my opinion, Donny mister, let nothing stare in this world. Nothing what? Nothing's fair? No, no, I know it's not fair. But the thing is is you can't go around with your chest out when everybody's looking at you, going, man, look at this nefo baby over here.

You know it's good, it's gonna be bad for him. And as soon as the Bronze out of the league, if that kid has no game, he's gonna be gone with them. Yeah, no question, no question. And right now, right now, with all these players and everything else, I have a big problem with players having so much control. I think. I remember when Dan Patrick. I remember when Dan Patrick got Russell Wilson shipped out of Seattle because he asked him in an interview do they talk to

you about the trades and personnel? And Russell Wilson said no. And then a week later he was with the Broncos. And that was all on Dan Patrick. Because Dan Patrick was the one that put that on Russell Wilson And he still does it on his show. How come they don't defer to you? You're the star? Well, you know. And the thing is is like, if you're running a company, if this team is your company and you want it to go to a certain way, why would you Why would

you go to your middle manager and ask his opinion. He doesn't have to make the become monumental decisions. Right he's not paying the checks too, he's not signing the checks. He's not signing the checks, and he's not managing the salary cap right now. It's a bigger thing. And I don't you know, this little Browning experiment, it's not going to go well. Well, no, I don't disagree you. Thanks for the call. We're going to I want to talk to Jay about this too, Thank you, Donny.

So I want to go there because I think it was Scott Thompson yesterday that talked about that, or I could have been who else do we have there early this year, mister STI maybe how it's the gets the players calling the shots. And you're gonna see a lot of that in college now because you're making the money. How are you gonna teach tell these kids to play this way when they're making when they're makes amount of money and when they when

they think that they're you know what doesn't stink? Right? Exactly. How are you how's that gonna go? Yeah, it's different, it's different, and it's it was, it was, it was, it was. We were talking to Scott Toms because we're asking because he was talking about the modern coach, right, you know uh uh uh you know that guy, you know telling me that, you know, the modern coach has to coach differently. You know, the days of Bobby Night and those guys are the way

in the past, way in the past. And and if you want to be successful, you got to treat your players a certain way, because guess what, if you don't, they'll go somewhere. You're going to be treated the way they want to be sure, and then that's and that's the way it's gonna be. And you're right. The players do have a lot of the control now, both at the high school, college and pro level. I mean, look at what's going on the high schools here and tis on.

Good coaches are quitting, yeah, because they don't want to have to deal with their players and their parents. Sure, well for the ages, when was the last time and you coached who are in basketball, specifically good basketball. A guy could score forty points a game, but don't get fat, don't get in fout trouble. You don't have to play defense. Just kind of watch you. You know, you're a one sided player, yea.

And not to that degree of the guy dictating how you are. But most of the kids now it's the I don't want to mention names on rosters now, but you can kind of sense that they're the ones dictating the rope here or you know, pulling the rope or whatever. Well, they're making the decisions, right they are, And that's that's just the way it's going to be. And it's it's like it's to me it's sad, but it's the way of the world. Well, you can't fight it those Sad is

the right word. It's just to me where we are. To me, it's sad because it's not well. And we're older, you know, because it's not how we solid for forever, right, And it's like when coaches get fired and the player says, well, it wasn't on him, it was on us. Yeah, right, it was on you. You But because you couldn't play together, you weren't any good. You weren't any good, right, I yeah, I mean I hear you. And maybe sad is the right word. I mean it sucks, and I know that.

Let's just say that sucks. It does suck because you feel like, I feel like just the fabric of all these sports has changed so much so and look, we're all gonna kick you know, in the next twenty years or whatever, and the generation that's coming up, it will always have been like this and they won't even talk about it. And in their time it will change too. It could change back who knows, who knows? Who knows? Yeah, I mean yeah, and overcorrect it calls for another overcorrect yeah,

because I mean yeah, I mean again. You know, I'm sitting here, I'm flipping through through Twitter, and there's a picture of Lebron, you know, with his kids, and like, I think of the control that Lebron his head over his teams throughout his career much so right, Oh, we're going to my you know, we're gonna we're going to Miami.

We're gonna win one. We're gonna win to it, you know. And then he went he went back to Cleveland, and then he you know, he's he's at the Lakers and he's calling the shots everywhere he goes, and I just I just don't I just don't feel that guys like Willie Mays and Mickey Mantle and Sandy Kofax and Jim Brown and you know had that level of control, no question, no question, they didn't. That was so long

ago, so long ago. So let's go even newer. Did John Alway have that kind of control over the Denver Well who didn't want to get drafted? Well, that's right, he did, right, yeah, And that's kind of where it started, right right right right about there, you can say that that's where things like that started. Yeah, and then and and it was it was slow, and then it blew up over the last few and they started, I don't want to play in the in the in the

playoffs, in the in the boat. Yeah, yeah, exactly. Control yeah, control. All right, man. We got deep there, Steve, Yeah, we got really Tomorrow a day and tomorrow is another day. All right. We will be back tomorrow. Yeah. We appreciate Delaney Shane all joining us. Best of luck to her on her Olympic, Olympic journey. Thank you, Laman Huntley as always a lot of good stuff. Ryan, nice job on the board again today. Appreciate it and we'll talk to you all tomorrow. Thanks for being here
